don’t, if you value your life (one-sided nier x reader)
notes: i have had the idea of this fic in my head ever since i finished replicant like a year ago. of all the things i expected to write on my days off, this was absolutely not one of them, but at midnight a demon possessed my body and puked out the fic. though i think of it more of a writing exercise since anyone knows me knows that my typical genre of fic is completely on the other side of the spectrum of this.
contains: angst (no happy ending), canon-typical violence, mentions of blood, suicide ideation, very minor stalking, character death, largely un-beta read, language (Kainé is present after all).
wc: 3.9k words
if you read this and think i need to add a tag, please tell me.

Don't go into that village.
Don't go near it.
Don't, if you value your life.
The words of your elders are etched into your brain— your mind. It's a mantra, a hymn, a warning. The village in question is a quiet place, nestled in verdant hills, built upon the ruins of the old world. They say it's peaceful there, pretty even, but the village houses a great and terrible monster. One that will kill on sight— without hesitation, without mercy.
When you were younger, the curiosity, morbid and insatiable clawed at your heart. Maybe the elders were over exaggerating, maybe they were mistaken, maybe there was no monster at all. You thought about it sometimes, thought about tempting fate and visiting the forbidden village. Someone said that there's a library there and you'd love to see one, even just once. However, everyone who ignored the words of elders— who set off to see that village never, ever returned.
That, in of itself, was enough to prove the monster was real.
And so, you stayed away.
You didn't need to see a library, the view of the ocean near your home was beautiful enough to fill your heart and mind, leaving no room for thoughts of merciless, bloodthirsty monsters. For the most part, your existence has been quiet and peaceful.
At least it was, until the monster left its village.
Until the monster came to the seaside town you called your home.
Truth be told, it's not the first time the monster has appeared in your hometown, but its visits were well communicated— the sentries stationed outside the town quick to inform everyone to hide for the monster was on the way. Those visits were spent in the shadows hiding with bated breath— hoping and praying the monster would never notice. Your mother had hidden you well away, afraid that even laying eyes on the monster would condemn you to a fate far too sad. So you didn't know, you didn't know—
The screaming through the town is sudden and shrill, the sound running chills down your body. It is a siren biding you to run if you value your life. You and those around you act on instinct, running, scampering across the streets. Some run further into town, some toward the harbor, you run toward the lighthouse, abandoned since its caretaker died some years ago. You think it will be safest. The monster is said to be indiscriminate with its slaughtering, but also intelligent— surely, it won't come looking for murder in a place where no one is supposed to be. And if it does… you can choose to end it yourself rather than at the monster's bloody hands.
You ascend the lighthouse, two steps at a time. The cacophony of carnage is muffled here— distant, but still ominous in the background. You quickly reach the top of the tower and the town is so saturated in the stench of death that not even the salty sea breeze that's filling your lungs can displace it. From here you can see it all, your peers running in all directions, scattering like petals in the wind.
It is here, for the very first time, you see the monster.
If not for the large, bloodied greatsword in his hands, you would think him more a man than a monster. You cannot make much of his features from atop the lighthouse, save for his hair, shimmering like a beautiful white pearl in the sunlight. A strange, morbid frustration tears at your stomach as you strain your eyes in efforts to get a better look at this monster. He rushes at a group, too slow, too unfortunate and looks to effortlessly cleave them, slicing their bodies into ribbons.
You should be horrified. Disgusted. Afraid.
Instead, you are transfixed.
Your body is stock still as you bear witness to the monster's massacre. He is every bit as cruel as the elders said— there is no hesitation, no mercy in the swing of his sword as he fells your neighbors and friends one by one. You are lucky that you ran to such a secluded area, just as you figured, the monster of a man doesn't bother to come your way. You wonder if he thinks there is no carnage to be found in such an abandoned place.
Do monsters even think?
You remain there, rooted to the spot until you see the monster, a bloodstained pearl, wander toward the town's entrance. Once he's gone, your legs finally give out from beneath you, the weight of it all hitting you like a tidal wave. Eventually, you crawl your way down the steps of the lighthouse and into the town proper to find any survivors.
After a few hours, everyone is rounded up. Only just a fourth of your small community remains. No one is without loss— friends, family, lovers are all victims to the monster's rampage. Your heart seizes in your chest when you realize your mother is among the lost. She had been home when the disaster came to pass, waiting for you to return from an errand she had sent you out for. Had she come looking for you when all hell broke loose? Was she searching for you when she drew her last breath? Was your unconfirmed safety what cost her her life?
Despaired and disgusted, you retch.
You should have run home instead of to the lighthouse. Because you didn't, your mother is dead. Or maybe, if you had gone back, you would have perished together, you holding your mother in a shielding embrace as the monster brings the sword down. Or, more morbidly, the monster taking your life before your mother's eyes before claiming her life as well. You don't know. You throw up again.
The remaining shuffle to the beach, erecting crude graves of shells and stones there. One of the older members of the community recites a prayer, something reminiscent of the olden days before the ebbing tide washes the graves away.
In the days after the slaughter, the community is especially quiet, mourning. You don't know what to do in the absence of your mother, most of your friends were among the deceased as well: you have no one left. Some of the few remaining turn to anger in their grief: marching off to the forbidden village to claim what all know to be suicide disguised as declarations of revenge. You think it's because they don't know what to do either.
There is almost no one left in your small seaside town and the decision is made to find another community. You follow wordlessly, carrying nothing but your memories of your quiet and peaceful life because they are all that you have left.
Fortunately, there is another community close to your seaside town, sequestered in a building large enough to home at least a dozen families. From the outside the building looks like a fancy mansion, but the interior creeps you out– it's too quiet, too eerie. To make matters worse, the community lives beneath the mansion, in what seems to be a mad scientist's lab. You almost feel like at any moment you're going to become an experiment. Some of the members of this new community seem like they already are one.
The only good thing about your new home is that there is a library. Shelves and shelves of books line the wall. It is the only place in the mansion that has character, but there are rules that restrict visiting the library. You don't care. The rules don't matter much any more.
Nothing really matters much any more.
It is in the library where you see the monster a second time.
While perusing what appears to be some kind of fairy tale you hear footsteps in the hall and you instinctively scamper off into a hiding spot. You're not in the mood to be caught and lectured by the guards for breaking the rules tonight. The doors swing open and it's not the guards who walk in but the monster himself, accompanied by two— three others?
You watch from the shadows as the monster and his comrades move about the library. As he chats with them, you can't help but think of him as more of a man than a monster. He banters with… a floating book? How strange. How interesting. You'd love to see the contents of a talking book one day.
It is much easier to make out the man's features in such close quarters. You think that he can't be much older than you. He's handsome, much more handsome than a monster has any right being. There's some odd urge to get a better look at his face pooling in your stomach. Your instinct is to act on it, to just get closer and look and look and—
Don't go near it.
Don't, if you value your life.
The old mantra holds you still like a spell, the warning coursing through your veins, keeping you taut. But still you keep watching the man, the monster. He laughs with what you have come to realize are his friends and you think he almost seems human. Is this really the same monster that wreaked havoc on your little town a few months ago?
The man and his friends soon leave the library, the talking book bickering with the man's lady friend about her choice in dress. When you are sure that they are gone and not coming back you emerge from your hiding place and settle yourself in with the fairy tale book you had been reading. Hours pass before you've read your fill and you make your way back to the cold, metal depths your community calls home.
What you find upon arrival is not the low, but comforting chatter of your new friends and new neighbors, but dozens upon dozens of bloodstains— fresh and sticky. The stench of death is thick in the air, a sickening and stifling miasma. Before you can think, your feet are racing through the halls, screams reverberating against the walls as you search and search and search.
But you find no one.
You are the only survivor.
No one is left and you don't know what to do with yourself. There is a distant thought bidding you to return to the library, to drown yourself in books, in stories of another land, another time, another place where things matter and happy endings exist.
There is another thought, closer, louder and it is of the man. The handsome man. The terrible monster. Something in you desires to seek him out. Not for revenge, because you know that would be pointless, but merely because you want to get a better look at his face before you meet your inevitable end.
You make it your goal— your reason to live. At this point, you're not even sure if you can call what you're doing living. You leave the mansion with this goal; it's all you have left.
The journey to the forbidden village is not that long, it only takes a day on foot. But when you get to the edge you hesitate, unsure.
What if the monster of a man isn't here?
You shake your head. Nonsense. This is his home. No other monsters have come to destroy it for he is surely the strongest one in all the land. He will definitely be here.
Shuffling past what looks to be an abandoned camp, you make your way toward the village gates. Naturally, there are guards, but you manage to hop the fence, avoiding their attention.
The village, despite being forbidden, is fairly peaceful. Quiet. It reminds you of your seaside home. You keep to the shadows as you steal past a row of merchants, watching as a few children play tag around a cobblestone fountain.
Now that you're here, you realize you have no clue where to find the monster of a man. But there is one building, sitting atop a grassy hill above all the rest. You think it's a good idea to start there.
You slink your way up the hill and you spot a few more children playing in the grass. To your surprise, a couple notice you. Surprising you further, they wave. Shyly, you wave back before bolting toward the tall building, not wanting to remain in the same spot lest the children go running to their parents. When you reach the top of the hill, you look back. The children are still playing and you breathe a sigh of relief before entering the building.
It turns out that this is the famed library of the forbidden village. The feeling of joy, strange yet familiar, bubbles pleasantly in your stomach. You’re here to find the monster, but surely it’s fine if you take a detour. This library is much bigger than the one at the mansion— there are more books to bury yourself in, more stories to fill the void in your heart that’s been growing ever since you left your seaside town. You peruse the titles on the shelves and when you find one you don’t recognize you pull at it, freeing it from the shelf and watching as it falls to the ground, the smack echoing throughout the otherwise silent library. You freeze, fearful that someone will come running to find the source of the noise. When no one does, you scoop up the book and scamper off to a quiet, dark corner of the library to read.
Part way through the story, the main doors of the library slam open, demanding your attention and you look up from the top of your book only to find the monster of a man. But it doesn’t look like he’s here to read, instead he briskly walks the length of the lobby. Your eyes remain glued to his form as he runs up the stairs and disappears onto the library’s second floor. The thought to follow him crosses your mind, but you remain still. He will have to come back down the stairs when he leaves— you will follow him then. You turn your attention back to the story, a little saddened that your attention is divided: it was just starting to get good. Maybe you’ll get a chance later to reread it, give it your full attention.
Some time later, you hear footsteps again and quietly close your book. The man appears, descending the staircase, his handsome face marred by a scowl. Idly, you wonder what happened to make him upset like that, but ultimately, it doesn’t matter. You stare from your dark little corner, waiting for him to leave before you follow after him, sure to keep yourself out of sight, sure to keep yourself at a safe distance.
Don't go near it.
Don't, if you value your life.
The monster heads toward a house, fenced in and half-dilapidated. Despite that, there’s something about the home that is warm, cozy. A stark difference from the terribly violent image of the monster that the elders painted for you. You watch, hidden in the shadow of a nearby building, as the monster tends to a flower bed next to his home, watering and weeding them before he heads inside. Through the window you see the glimmer of light, and once you’re sure he won’t suddenly come out and kill you where you stand, you draw closer to the house.
Curious, you examine the flowers. You are not an expert on plants, but they look well cared for. It’s strange. Why would a monster so lovingly tend to plants? A monster by nature, by definition, is a creature of destruction, so why? You don’t understand.
But you want to, against all instinct, against all odds, you want to.
You start to follow after the monster as he goes about his business, or more accurately, the business of others, running errands for them: delivering packages and messages, fishing, committing atrocities against your people. You’re always sure to stay a safe distance away— close enough to observe, yet far enough to not get wrapped up in the carnage. But sometimes, a reckless rush runs through your veins and you steal closer, listening in on his conversations with his comrades, his friends. You learn their names, their personalities and while they become more human in your eyes, their images are still blurry in your mind’s eye; you are not yet foolish enough to get close enough to get a good look at their faces. You are not yet foolish enough to delude yourself into thinking of them as friends.
One evening, at the camp you hear the scantily clad woman— Kainé, very, very loudly announce that she is going ‘to go take a piss.’ The talking book— Weiss, complains loudly about her crudeness, disgusted, as he always is, with her choice of language. She scoffs, dismissing him with a wave before walking away.
Walking toward you.
You scamper away, running toward a large, nearby bush and hiding within. She shouldn’t see you, or at least you hope she won’t. She approaches another bush and you look away, respecting her privacy as much as you can.
“Come out, I know you’re there.”
Her voice is a low growl, and you think she can’t possibly be talking to you. While your observations have led you to believe that there is a soft core to her brash outer exterior, there is little doubt in your mind that, much like the monster of a man, Kainé would slaughter you on sight.
“Hurry up, I don’t have all fuckin’ night.” She stomps over to your bush, and you’re sure she can’t see you, but still she leans in and whispers, her voice both seductive and violent, “Or if you want, I can just end your miserable existence right damn here.”
Instinct takes over and you run out of the bush, away from her.
“There you are, you little fucker,” she snorts. You back away slowly, as she straightens herself out. Kainé eyes you like a bug, one that she is about to crush beneath the heel of her shoe. You swallow thickly, unsure if you should try to run or not. The only thing you are sure of is that if you do run, you’re dead.
“So, why’ve you been following us, huh?” Kainé demands, arms crossed over her chest, frowning. She must know that she could kill you in an instant, must know that you couldn’t lay a finger on her if you tried to attack her. “Don’t think I haven’t noticed a fucking shade like you lurking around us for weeks.”
Shade. That’s what they call you and your people. Shades— condemned to the shadows, unable to live peacefully with the humans, or, as the elders called them, the replicants… whatever that meant. You eye Kainé warily, wondering why she is asking you a question when it is known that humans can’t communicate with shades, can’t converse with them— if they could, then maybe the monster of a man would just be a man, his beautiful hands devoid of the blood of your friends, your neighbors… your mother.
“Hey!” Kainé shouts. “I’m talking to you, the least you can do is answer.”
She’s right. Even if she can’t understand, she probably can hear the words from your Shade mouth. You take a deep breath and speak for what feels like the first time in an eternity. “...it’s because of… him.”
Your voice sounds so strange in your ears, a sound more foreign than silence itself. Kainé stares at you, scowling like she knows, like she can understand the Shade tongue with which you speak. It’s hard to tell, and you take one, two, three steps closer to look in her eyes, risking your life more and more with each forward step that you take. You’ve read that the eyes are the window to the soul, so maybe if you can see them clearly, you’ll be able to tell, to know, if she really, really understands.
Fortunately for you, Kainé doesn’t move, nor does she speak, but still you hear a voice— not hers, erupt in a manic fit of laughter from her body. Her scowl deepens, clearly annoyed, but it seems that it’s not directed at you.
“How cute, the little shade has a crush!” the voice howls, mocking you.
Your face scrunches in bewilderment. The source of the voice… is Kainé herself, but she is clearly not speaking…  You shake your head. No, that’s not right. This isn’t a crush, this isn’t infatuation, it’s merely curiosity. “No… that’s not… that’s right. I’m just… I just…”
The laughter grows louder, more derisive, “Oh don’t fucking delude yourself. You’ve been stalking after us for how long? It’s frankly kinda gross if you ask me!”
Kainé mutters something under her breath that you can’t hear, presumably at the mysterious voice making a mockery of you.
Your stomach churns violently, a grotesque concoction of fear and unease. He’s not wrong though. It is kind of gross how you’ve been following this group around like a pathetic puppy. Watching them at a distance, wanting to get closer, to satiate your curiosity, yet staying far away because that’s the only way you can coexist with the monster and his friends.
You think of the monster, terrible and cruel in his extermination of your people, the Shades. You think of the man, gentle and kind as he tends to the flowers by his house. The images in your mind overlap. Terrible and gentle. Kind and cruel. The images blur.
You can only see the smile he’s offered to his friends.
It’s all you have left now, and you don’t know what to do with yourself.
You are not one of his friends, the image of his smile is something you’ve stolen, held in the shadows, kept like a treasure— a secret that should have never been yours.
In fact, it never was.
“Hey Kainé?” A third voice enters the fray and you feel as if you have been drenched in ice water, thrust into the icy depths of the ocean, your entire body freezing over. “You’ve been taking a while, Emil and I were—”
He stops short. You know it’s because he sees you.
Don't go near it.
Don't, if you value your life.
Everything happens so fast, before you can run, before you can even blink. The spear that was affixed to his back is now in his hands, its tip embedded deep into your abdomen. The pain is mind shattering as it spreads throughout your body, like a wildfire in a forest.
The monster is close, closer than he has ever been, than he ever will be, the view of his face clear, and unmarred by distance. He is devoid of expression as he draws even closer, plunging the spear impossibly deeper into your fracturing body. Rather than the pain, you focus what attention you have left on his face.
It’s what you wanted, to get a better look at his face before meeting your inevitable end.
But now that you’re here, you realize, regretfully, that you maybe want a little bit more.
You want to live in another land, another time, another place, where you’re not just a Shade and you can have a happy ending.
With what sense you have left, you focus on his eyes. They’re clear, and blue as the sky on a cloudless day. As your consciousness ebbs away, fading rapidly from existence, you distantly think that at least the last thing you get to see is breathtakingly beautiful. It would have been nice, if you had had longer to enjoy it.
You have nothing left.
You are nothing but a bloodstain on the monster’s spear.

2B with an affectionate s/o
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: 2B x gn!reader
tags: fluff, established relationship
Tumblr media
you'll hear the "emotions are prohibited" line from 2B quite a lot!
still, just because she keeps reminding you of it, doesn't mean that she truly means what she says
despite 2B cold exterior, she actually loves how affectionate you are!
and whenever she tells you that "emotions are prohibited", she's actually trying to remind herself of it and not you
2B wishes she could be as open with her feelings as you are and even envies you a bit for being so openly affectionate
she loves you a lot and wants to show you the same level of affection, yet she struggles with showing her emotions and fully opening up to you
which is why it makes her even happier that showing your emotions comes so naturally to yourself!
2B craves affection and she's so thankful that you can openly be affectionate towards her
she always melts into your embrace, being able to forget about everything else, while you hold her in your arms
and in some of her weakest moments, she even finds herself softly crying, relieved that she's dating someone who gives her all the affection she craves so much!

2B and hugs! ☆
↳ A/n: I haven't written anything in a while, so have these 2B hcs to warm up
Tumblr media
➸ 2B gives reserved and awkward, yet affectionate hugs.
➸ Hugging 2B is actually really nice, just not at first. It’s no secret that she doesn’t really do attachment [or, it would be more accurate to say she likes to thinks she doesn’t], and while there’s a lot of reasons for that and ways it manifests one of the main ways it shows is through not knowing how to either give or receive affection. There’ll be a lot of moments early on in your relationship where she goes in to hug you or kiss and just suddenly stops and stiffly falls back into place. It’s as endearing as it is painful to watch.
➸ So a majority of hugs will have to be initiated by you at first, just make sure to ask before you go in for one!
➸ These hugs are mainly from you. 2B just kind of stands there, arms floating around you because she doesn’t really know where to put her hands. Or where to look either, for that matter. Her love for you is giddy and shy, almost like a teenager with a crush, so having you so close has her gears whirling and mind blanking.
➸ Side note when you’re pressed against her chest you can actually hear her inner mechanisms working. It's kind of fascinating that they react to you.
➸ As 2B grows more used to affection, and more comfortable with it, hugs get more frequent. They’re not her favourite show of affection, that would be hand holding, but they’re still nice. Hugs get sweet, and though they always remain a tad awkward they’re a lot more comfortable. Still a private affair, though. Public hugs have her flustered and pushing you away.
➸ 2Bs’ the type to sway when she hugs you, and if you’re shorter than her she rests her cheek on your head. Talks sometimes, about her day and whatnot, but mainly she’s quiet. The type to just soak it in, you know?
➸ If you breath in, 2B doesn’t have a particularly strong smell. There’s a slight metallic scent, mixed with something floral, but it’s faint. Hard to pick up but once you do you never don’t notice it.
➸ There are also a fair bit of protective hugs with her too. There is a tightness to them, a security in her embrace. Arms tight around your torso, one hand firmly on your back and the other on your shoulder. These types of hugs are kept for when she hasn’t seen you for a while or you’ve almost gotten hurt, a silent promise between you two that she will always return and protect you.
➸ 2B has never gotten fully used to having to kill her own kin, the detachment is never the stronger than her care. And even though you're human and she's basically your bodyguard there is a constant fear that she'll have to kill you one day, too. Hugs help ground her, and remind her that if that day comes she has to make the most of what she has.

❤︎︎ [love] - 2B - NieR: Automata
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
prompt: you find yourself with 2B talking in a meadow
warnings: none per usual ! HOWEVER. This is a WLW ‼️ Not exactly a warning but obviously not everyone’s into that !
word count: 1.7K
⊹₊。🌏°₊ ⊹
It had been a century since the war between humanity and the machines, and life on earth had returned to a relative peaceful state. Androids and humans lived amongst one another as they repaired the global damage from the countless battles fought on the surface (the area near the city Resistance camp being the first due to how bad it had become).
You were a human yourself, so there was only so much you could to do help in comparison to the androids and technology they had. You took a deep breath of the scent of the flowers in the meadow before you. It was your favorite place to be— away from everyone and not a trace of what happened during the war. It’s not that you didn’t like anyone in the used-to-be camp, in fact you loved each and every person there. But the peace it provided was like no other, and you relished the time you spent here.
The sound of grass rustling behind you stirred you from your thoughts, and you turned to face the source of the noise. It was none other than 2B who took long, elegant strides in your direction. It was funny— after a hundred years she still hardly changed. She wore a simple, black, short sleeved dress that reached the halfway point of her thighs, and black stockings with heels. The only thing that really changed was that she hardly ever wore her blindfold anymore. At least around you.
But in your eyes, it was hopeless. The last woman who asked her out was rejected pretty badly. 2B wouldn’t even let her speak, so you knew your feelings would have to remain buried. It didn’t even matter, you were so hopelessly infatuated that you would do anything to be in her presence.
2B stood directly at your side before sitting beside you, tucking her dress beneath her. Her fingers quickly slipped beneath her blindfold and tugged it off in one fluid motion, revealing her stormy blue eyes. “Hey. How long have you been out here?” Her voice was monotone, but it was expected. With her service as an android, it was a bit tough to stop her soldier-like tendencies such as her speaking.
You release your hold on your knees and stretched your legs out in front of you, leaning back on your hands. “Two hours I think. I kinda lost track of time.” You responded thoughtfully as you stared out across the expanse of the mesmerizing field. 2B simply look at you, her piercing gaze scanning your form. It made you nervous, but you managed to keep your eyes in front of you.
“I was looking for you, y/n.” 2B said, “But if you would like for me to leave, just say so.”
You shifted your gaze to look at the android, a look of slight confusion etched across your features. Normally when 2B came to find you, it was for little tasks or to ask little questions. You couldn’t recall a time when she came to you without an actual reason. Shit, now your heart was racing for sure. “No-! I mean, you’re perfectly fine to stay with me. Sorry. But do you mind if I ask why you were looking for me?”
You noticed the faintest trace of a smile on her pale features, but it soon disappeared. “I… I’m not entirely sure myself. How strange. I came here on impulse since I knew this would be where you’re at.” She mused to herself, shocked at her own behavior. Why had she come out here? And why did she feel so nervous? Shy, maybe?
You giggled at her words, but in all honesty they sent butterflies to your stomach. Maybe this was just a way of saying you two were close friends, but it was better than nothing. And certainly better than what that one woman got from 2B. Thank goodness you were too scared to make any moves.
A comfortable silence ensued between them as the sun crept behind the horizon. Hues of orange and pink painted the skies; the birds that sang earlier retiring for the evening. The moment was serene and beautiful, and you couldn’t be more grateful than to spend it with 2B. Your heart sank a bit as you realized that you would more than likely never get to spend it with each other as lovers.
After a long while of basking in the sunset, 2B cleared her throat. In her mind, she had battled in her mind about why she came to seek you out. Why she wanted to find you, and why her thoughts seemed to turn to you at any given moment. “Y/n… may I ask you something personal?”
You nodded and turned to face her, admiring the way the light of the setting sun hit 2B’s pale skin. She looked like an angel— although she appeared this way a majority of the time.
2B swallowed any reluctance and stared into your eyes with an unnamed passion. “Y/n, do you love me?” She questioned bluntly, not a hint of hesitation laced in her voice. The words caught you off guard as your mind raced to come up with an answer. You didn’t even know how to start, let alone what to tell her. Should you come up with a bullshit lie? No, 2B would see through the lie and call you out on it.
“Uh… well, in the sense of what?”
“Romance.”
Dammit. There really was no way out of this, and she was being more blunt than usual. I guess there wouldn’t be too much harm in telling her… right? For the second time, you remembered the rejection of the woman, and how 2B spoke such ill of her afterwards. It sent a shiver down your spine just thinking about it. Or rather, made the pit in your stomach grow tenfold.
“2B, I know lying to you is completely useless. But please. Just… listen before you say anything else, okay?” You nearly whispered everything you said, and 2B nodded. Taking a deep breath, you steeled yourself and began telling her everything.
“The truth is 2B, I do love you. I’ve loved you for so long that I don’t even know what to do with those feelings anymore. And I really did want to tell you, but after I heard about the rejections from other people, I couldn’t even handle the thought of you hating me.” You rambled on, gesturing a bit with your hands as you spoke, “I love the way you carry yourself; strong and unnerved. I love the way you pretend you don’t for care people in certain situations, but you would do anything in your power to help them. And God, I love the way your eyes speak to me.”
A sigh feel from your lips, “And I know that I’m a human and you’re an android, but I can’t help it.” You stopped your speech and buried your face in your hands. This had to be one of the most unexpected and humiliating moments on your life. It felt like ages before 2B said a word. “Y/n… look at me. Please?”
Her own hands wrapped around your own and pulled them away so she could look you in the eyes. Her slender fingers wrapped around your palms and pushed them to rest at your sides. “I— I know I’m not the most interesting or fun to be around. But the reason I refused all those women was because I wanted you. I’ve been a fool and haven’t understood until recently. And I still don’t understand these… feelings completely. So if you’re willing to be patient with me, could you help me learn more about love?” 2B leaned in, her breath caressing your lips. Her eyes flickered between your eyes and lips, her lashes fluttering as she waited.
You suddenly became aware of the fact that she was holding your hands, and that her thigh was touching yours, and that if you were to lean forward just the smallest amount, your lips would be on hers. It was almost overstimulating, but in the best way possible. “Why didn’t you tell me?” Your words were but a whisper against the breeze, but 2B heard every word.
“There are many other people who would be a better suitor than I. That’s all.”
You stared at her blankly before bursting into laughter, pulling her into a hug that sent you both to the ground. You sat up, staring down at a confused 2B, her bangs pushed up from the sudden push. “I love you 2B. I’m glad I can finally teach you something you don’t know.” You teased, a grin gracing your countenance.
2B’s cheeks tinted pink and one of her hands reached up and squished your cheeks. “Don’t get too difficult with me.” She scolded firmly, but her expression disproved her words. Her eyes softened as she observed your features, and her hold on your face loosened. “But teach me quickly, I’ve wasted time delaying this already.”
You hummed as you thought for a moment and an idea crossed your mind. “Since you want me to teach you something… how about a kiss?” You asked her innocently, but your heart was pounding out of your chest.
2B sat up and guided you to sit on her lap instead, her hands finding their way to your hips. “A kiss? Isn’t that when humans place their lips on one another’s as a form of affection?” You nodded curtly as you absentmindedly played with the hair at the base of her neck. 2B’s eyes flickered to your lips, “May I share a kiss with you?”
You nodded again before cupping her face in your hands. You closed your eyes before pressing your lips against her own, guiding her along as she treaded through the waters. It was almost laughable how stiff 2B became and how her grip along your hips tightened. But you wouldn’t trade it for the world.
You slowly broke the kiss with 2B’s breath ghosting across your lips. “Thank you y/n. I vow that as long as you live, I’ll be by your side.” And with that promise, she sealed her words with a gentle kiss as the sky went dark.

Delighted to discover that in VS Rising, Belial is determined to be Nier's best-worst life decision! And then promptly horrified that Avatar Belial is easily the most cruel toward her than he is toward anyone else, which is saying a hell of a lot.
Regular Belial's (second) intro line: "Oh, I'm a regular love guru. Trust me. Come closer... If you're so desperate for intimacy, then I can be your guilty pleasure. Brace yourself."
Avatar Belial's (second) intro line: "Don't project your problems onto me. I'm nothing like you—you pathetic sniveling mess. Just the sight of you makes me sick."
Wow, Nier, looks like you'll have more luck with the Belial that wants you to beg before he collars and feeds you! Take him up on that by all means, the mutual mental collapse would be amazing

Here I am again with another AU idea.
I don't know if it's an already existing idea but what about the DCA in a nier:Automata AU?
It's could be in five different ways (lmao pun not intended): with Sun and Moon being androids and y/n being a bio-machine, the opposite way or with y/n being an operator at base station and guess what, the opposite way again. The fifth being y/n, an android, finding the original DCA between the ruins of an old human entertaining center after their POD capted an unknown signal.
Let me rant a little under the cut.
Setting A: With Sun and Moon being two different androids they would be compatible with the canon story and at some point they could become infected with the bio machines virus. They would work for the YorFaz/Fazha organisation (the name makes me giggle hahaha) and combat machines for the good of mankind on the moon (that's actually just a lie to cover the fact someone is exploiting bio machines for remnant or something like that). I don't know what kind of category they would be close to, but I would say they are a new kind of android who's an hybrid between the Battle and Scanner model (with Moon being more of a Scanner before the virus and going full berserk after it).
Y/n on the other end is just a machine that gained consciousness like Pascal (and maybe even a human-like body like Adam and Eve at some point) when they detached themselves from the hive mind because they idk, fell down somewhere or hard resetted after a fight. For that reason they won't be infected by the virus like Sun and Moon and can emote and be themselves.
The first time they meet Sun (1Su-Ones) and Moon (1M-Nem) almost eliminated y/n who was just laying on a small field of flowers hidden between the ruins of the desert away from every other machine. There is a chase and some dialogue between you and mostly Sun who wanted to study your reactions, meanwhile Moon is more closed off and ready for an ambush. You are the first machine they met with a consciousness.
They don't want to interact with you after your first encounter but you had captured their attention. They lie to themselves saying that's their Scanner nature acting up and making them curious about you. At the beginning that's true, but after some time they start to actually enjoy your company and try to come to see you in between missions.
And you are always in different places, making finding you their little exiting side quest as they search where you can possibly be and bringing you to new places.
Until one day they couldn't find you anymore, maybe?
Setting B: similar to A but a bit different. In this one y/n is a Scanner type YoRha android studying machines and ways to exploit their behaviours against them. Your targets are two special cases of goliath biped machines denominated DC-S87 (Sun) un and DC-M83 (Moon) living in the Amusement Park area.
At the beginning you saw them just as factory errors...they were differently shaped than the other bio-machines and acted strangely too They seemed more...intelligent, and connected to each other in some way.
The first time you made contact with them was to "save" them from another group of androids who was patrolling the area, explaining to your colleagues that they were the objects of your study and stopping them from eliminating the duo. This resulted in Sun and Moon being more aware of their surroundings and spotting you more often now that they knew they were being watched.
They tried (especially Moon) to scare you away by creating traps and attacking you but you always found it funny and pretty interesting, taking notes aloud. Until one day you were trapped somewhere (maybe lured by Simone) and they menaged to help you by hiding your signal and making you escape the park area.
You thought they were just mindless bio machine like the rest but you soon understood you were wrong.
Setting C: The most tragic ending ever if we follow the canon. Just imagine: android Sun and Moon and Operator y/n can freely hangout when they have time at the space station (they bring you souvenirs from the surface :D) and y/n helps the boys when they are on a mission.
They make you a promise: they would bring you with them to the surface when the war ended. But the day the virus broke out they saw you go crazy and being used to hurt them both mentally and physically. You managed to infect Moon (and after that Moon infected Sun) because they esitated. They had to watch you as you tried to fight the virus that's moving your body and as you begged for them to eliminate you. To save you, you didn'twant them to end up like you.. Y/n never had a chance to see the surface. And they remained alone, with just their slowly corrupting memories of you.
And their broken promise.
(But if you want a happy ending we could always ignore the canon story :D)
Setting D: Sun and Moon are both your operators. Or your PODS. If they are your operators it may be because you have to find an android who's disappeared (the android one of them is supposed to support), same thing if they are PODs, one of them is yours but the other is of someone else, or they are replacing your own. This setting allows space to pining and feelings of uncertainty from all ends. But it could get more complicated if you manage to find the actual android you are searching for, the one linked to them. And when the virus starts spreading (like in the previous setting) things would get ugly.
The alternative to this is you being their POD slowly gaining a conscience like in canon game.
Setting E: Again, you are an android (it doesn't matter what type) and you are on a mission to find the location of a new anomalous signal presumably from bio machines. You didn't expect to find two really old robots between the debris of an old human entertaining center, and with really advanced AI for the time they were built. After you found them the Commander ordered you to find out if they are actually harmless and to study them and integrate them to the resistance camp. This setting is more focalized on the boys waking up to what is basically a new world for them. It could be both platonic and romantic.
Wow did you really read all of this? Woah. 👏👏
You can go now, but if you have more ideas or wanna say something TELL ME PLEASE I NEED OPINIONS.

having a baby with 2B
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: 2B x gn!reader
tags: fluff, established relationship, pregnant 2B
Tumblr media
2B never imagined herself as a mother and even now that she's pregnant, she still can't quite imagine it
since she started dating you and you told her about your wish of having a family with her, she warmed up to the idea of being a mother a bit more
but honestly, she's still rather worried that she won't be a good mother. after all, she's just an android…
you might have to comfort her sometimes and make sure she knows that she'll be a good mother and that you'll always support her
especially once the hormones kick in… 2B truly wonders why she needs to be able to mimic a real pregnancy so closely, with all the negative effects as well…
still, she appreciates that you're always supporting her and it gives her comfort, knowing that you'd be such a reliable partner and parent
as the date of the baby's birth gets closer, you're often spending your days with preparing the baby's room, while 2B rests in the resistance camp
everyone is always offering to help her, which is so kind and yet new and overwhelming to her! she doesn't like to rely on others, but she might have to do that now
once the baby is finally there, you're at 2B's side and the two of you are the first ones to see the little one
the moment 2B gets to hold her baby in her arms, she can't help but tear up. she made that! she made a small living creature! it's amazing…
she might not let you hold the baby for quite a while, growing immediately attached and protective over it and telling you to be careful once she finally does hand it to you
after the first few days after the birth are over, you two slowly begin to adapt to your new life style with your little one around
and not long after, 2B confides in you that she really wants to make your dream of having a big family come true and have another baby!

Painting the Town
Oh this takes me back. This bad boy was the first oneshot I'd ever written for the series, and it was a request from Wattpad!
I have mixed feelings on this lol, it's cringy at times and it's just...I was just starting to understand them and. Yeah.
even tho it makes me cringe, it is special to me.
Pairing:
Adam x Human!Reader x Eve
(platonic with a sprinkling of pining)
"I have never seen so much white in one place," you groaned as you attempted to sketch a mural that would add more color to the copied city. Scattered around you were the rejected ideas. Everything from "you're my butter half" to the Jaws movie poster had been considered, but each of them had their problems.
"Hey Y/N!" Eve called, practically leaping into your room. "Whatcha doing?"
You giggled at his antics and held up your current sketch-a Halloween mural, complete with floating candlesticks, jack o lanterns, and other spooky Halloween must-haves. "I've been doing a little bit of sketching, nothing much," you finally replied.
"Wait, didn't humans eat pumpkins?" He asked. "That's what my brother told me at least, so why are those pumpkins not being eaten?"
Inside, you cried a little because it had been forever since you had a good pumpkin spice latte or whatever. "Well, we do eat pumpkins, but we eat the insides. Has Adam not read about vegetable carving?"
"There is a seemingly endless pile of books I have yet to read. Surely you can't expect me to have read them all so quickly?"
You nearly jumped out of your skin at Adam's response. "Um, how long exactly have you been here?"
Adam chuckled lightly at your response. "Long enough time see your artwork, Y/N. Does the artwork have any purpose?"
"You mean like...does it help me live my life? No, I could live without it," you began. "But there's only so much white I can handle, and having even a splash of color, I don't know how to describe it exactly, but it makes me feel...happier? I have no idea."
Adam was silent for a moment. "If it will help you with your morale, I suppose it would be...fun...to see this city pop with color."
"Yeah!" Eve cheered. "We'll help you! Where do we start?"
This was how the three of you found yourselves painting a large mural in your room. The ceiling was painted to resemble the night sky, complete with an aurora borealis. Each of the walls was decorated to look like a holiday. The wall your bed was against was Christmas themed, with cute little penguins in Santa hats, a Christmas tree, and of course, reindeer. The wall opposite that was thanksgiving filled, which meant a lot of turkeys. The wall to the right of your bed was Halloween themed, and the one across from Halloween was Valentine's Day themed.
"Thank you guys for your help today," you said when the task was finally completed. You then noticed Adam, who had red and green (and possibly white) paint stains on his usually clean white shirt. "Wait-Adam painted with us? And I didn't even have to convince him! This has got to be a dream."
Adam chuckled lightly at this. "No, I decided that it couldn't hurt to do what you humans used to call hands-on research this time."
"Hey Y/N?" Eve questioned, red and pink paint splattered basically all over him. "What's the significance of all these hearts?"
"Well, um, we set aside one day in the year, February 14, to really show your love and appreciation for someone else, whether it's romantically or not," you explained. "I've always thought it was kind of silly since you should always show appreciation for those you care about regardless of the day of the year."
Eve nodded, but you figured he'd ask you to explain it again sooner or later. Adam on the other hand was probably mentally noting the information immediately so he could read about it.
"How close are we to this Valentine's Day?" Adam asked at last.
"Depends. I haven't seen a calendar in who knows how long so I have no idea what day it is. I feel like it's closer to Halloween though."
"Is Halloween also a day to show your appreciation?" Eve questioned. You laughed a little at that.
"No, Halloween is about embracing the scary. You go through haunted houses, dress up in costumes, and demand candy in the dead of night," you explained.
Eve grinned. "That sounds awesome!" He exclaimed. "I want to celebrate Halloween now!"
"I am going to do some more research on the subject of Halloween," Adam stated as he calmly strode out of the room.
"Hey! You said you play a game with me later!" Eve exclaimed, chasing after him.
You chuckled as you watched them go. 'Be still my heart,' you thought, as you once again began daydreaming about what might happen if you dared to tell them exactly what you felt about them.
"Maybe next time..." you said quietly. "Next time I'll tell them."

I see you going through my Trigun tag, I see you, fam. 👀 (lol, welcome to the fandom, it's fun to see people fall head over heels for our bestest boy, enjoy your stay, we have donuts. :D)
-jaws music- I am treasure diving :D Lots of neat stuff in there!! Tbh it was the gifs you were reblogging of Stampede that made me go "he's cute...."
Then I watched it and yeah he's SUPER cute. Vash good boy, I already wanna wrap him up in a blanket burrito kjhsdkjghflds ALSO STAMPEDE IS JUST REALLY INSPIRING TO ME as I've been kinda forced into 3D animation in school and I'm just adoring the style this show has taken??? Makes me happy to see a usually 2D medium look so GORGEOUS in this form!! :>
Also gonna read the manga. Yes it's vastly different (already adore Milly, please give us the Herbo in Stampede??) already so it honestly makes me MORE interested in where Stampede is going?? It seems like a very different take but Vash is still like. That. And I love him. And I wanna crack open his secrets so INTO THE MANGA I GO (and the added fun of "oh Stampede might use this. Or it might cook up it's own thing. Explore different facets??")
Thank you for the doughnuts!! Love those!! :D D D
