Medicine Cats in a Dark Reign

RIVER:

--Eelfoot is an elderly tom, who has a tendency towards crankiness. He retired before the start of Rainstar's Burden (likely around the time Dawnflower earned her full name).

--Rainwater is his apprentice, and Dawnflower is hers! Both of them are she-cats.

WIND:

--Coldwater is much crankier. But like all--or most--medicine cats, she has a good heart. The scars seen on her were received when she pulled a Clanmate from a fire, long after she had retired.

--Her apprentice, Houndpaw/hare, was the one to have the prophecy about Rainstar becoming leader--likely the first prophecy he had had.

SKY:

--Pumpkintail is a mollie who had died before Rainstar's Burden. Creekpaw/pond is quiet, though not shy, and Pumpkintail is very friendly, so she made most conversation between them during meetings.

--Nightpaw/bloom is much the same as his mentor, preferring silence. He is non-verbal most of the time, pretty much only speaking when he needs to.

THUNDER:

--In spite of what you would think by his name, Deadheart is very friendly. He is talkative, too, which tends to annoy Eelfoot and Coldwater.

--When Beechpaw/finch became a medicine cat apprentice, they were very worried that they wouldn't be good enough--feelings worsened by her parents believing that she should have become a warrior apprentice like her littermates. Deadheart comforted her and, when she was ten moons and her parents' feelings continued, told Beechpaw that he would gladly be the father she needs.

She first began officially calling him 'dad' the night he gave her her full name.

Looking down at the kitten, Luna couldn't help but smile.

With her white coat & mostly abyssinian form, most creatures wouldn't know she was the daughter of a princess weren't for her small wings & small tuft of flowing silvery blue hair on her head.

"She's beautiful..." murmured Shadow, tired from the hours of the labor.

"She's so small..." Luna couldn't help but reply.

"Yeah..."

"Um, excuse me your hi- miss," A nurse timidly began to ask. "what is the baby's name gonna be?"

"Oh! We haven't thought of that yet..." Luna sheepishly replied.

"Well I have an idea" said Shadow, "I've been thinking about naming her Selene."

"T-that does sound nice, what do you think Luna?" The nurse then questioned.

"Selene it is" came Luna's response as she came closer to her family & tears happily came from their eyes.

It took me forever to find the time outside of school to finish this, but I finally managed it! I made a short fan-made visual novel set in book 1 of Pixelberry Choices' Blades of Light and Shadow!

This is a small side project and the art assets are a bit old and not up to my current standards, but I just made this to get familiar with RenPy and make fanart/fanfic for Blades! I also love how everyone at the very least got to confront their fears or find a solution for it.

Nia got to find a balance between her Light and Shadow selves. She doesn't have to choose a side anymore.

Tyril could see True Magic in action and maybe put his faith in something right. If you choose the "merge the realms" ending, he's just in awe of how balance is restored back in the realms. However I'd have love to see him feel a sense of right and wrong again.

Mal stops avoiding family. He goes home to his old family while raising a new one. The Mal who's not comfortable with settling down and wants to adventure till his last breath, found a peaceful home where he could do both.

Imtura finally gets accepted by her family and new friends. She's no longer the ostracized pirate Orc. She's put her past trauma behind her and learned to embrace it than sail away on a ship. I hoped for a line of dialogue about her still healing from the trauma of her mother's loss but I hope it is addressed.

Aerin, in the merger-ending, finds a home far away from the palace. He's able to carve his identity out for himself outside of Baldur and his father and is actually recognised for his work than get shunned for it.

Valax aims to build back whatever her mother destroyed, essentially gaining independence, free thinking and an ability to accept love first, before loving back.

Kade starts out as a storyteller and ends as a storyteller. Except he's got more stories to tell, more to write and more to explore. He's no longer the sick, weak kid anymore. He's intellectual, he's smart, he's resourceful and he can do anything with the tools and the confidence he now has.

MC gets to make a name for themselves and meet the interesting people and go to the interesting places they've always ever wanted, thus going from a small town nobody to a somebody at least. To conquer that fear of the unknown and embrace whatever's in store in the future.

While a lot of them aren't really that explored I'm just gonna take this as a sign that these characters all got a nice happy ending. I played the merge the two realms route so I'm not sure how it would look like in other situations. I hope even in the other routes, thanks to the knowledge these characters have gained, they'd probably turn out to be better, more well-rounded people who can see the in betweens and not just the good versus bad.

For @bladesrc, I gave my MC Ray Nightbloom her official book 2 depression makeover. It's a little fancier than the way she used to dress because she can afford nicer stuff now and because there is more attention on her as the hero. She's learned that elves and human nobles in particular can be quite judgemental. Plus, looking good gives her some sense of control when the rest of her life feels like it's falling apart.

I cut off her sleeves, so now she fits in with the team. Don’t question the practicality of a maxi skirt for adventuring, but if you do, it's fine because she is an archer/healer/mage/alchemist and doesn't usually engage in close-range combat. Beside the lip and the forearm, she has more scars, but I couldn't really show them off because I imagine they are mostly on her torso (realistically, that's where her opponents would aim, right?). Maybe in another edit.
