descriptions and minor spoilers below the cut!

Thrushpelt (WC) - a minor character who appears in Tallstar's Revenge and gives Heatherstar a life for courage and instinct. He is described as a "sleek tom". He is also listed as a significant medicine cat in Secrets of the Clans. He was a warrior prior to becoming a medicine cat.

Slash (Rogue) - a major antagonist in the Dawn of the Clans arc. Slash was the leader of an antagonistic rogue group and is responsible for kidnapping Star Flower and attempting to take over the fledgling clans. He disappears by the end of Path of Stars. Slash is described as a "brown tabby tom with slashes of white fur on his front legs and yellow-green eyes"

Gorseclaw (SkC/TC) - the son of Cloudstar and Birdflight who appears in Cloudstar's Journey and other Skyclan focused novellas/super editions. Gorseclaw was born in Skyclan and then raised i Thunderclan after Skyclan was banished. He is described as a "broad shouldered, dark brown tabby tom with amber eyes". I personally do not like him being likened to Tigerstar and instead have made him a light tom with white highlights and blue eyes so that he is a mix between his parents.

Dewy Leaf (Ancients) - a minor character in Dawn of the Clans who is a queen in the early Tribe. Most of her interactions on page are in regard to her mate, Moon Shadow, leaving the mountains without her. She is, understandably, upset that he is leaving her to find a new home while she is pregnant with their kits. She is described as a "tortoiseshell she-cat".

Dawnflower (RC) - a minor character who appears in the timeline between Leopardstar's Honor and Omen of the Stars. She is described as a "very pale gray she-cat" and is the daughter of Mosspelt and Frogleap. Based on her on-page appearances, she is a proud and outspoken molly who is very protective of her kits. She passes away during the drought at the beginning of Omen of the Stars.

Mudpuddle (WC) - a minor character and deputy of Windclan in Code of the Clans under Stonestar. His only on-page time is him reassuring his leader that all of Windclan is safe after a large branch falls on the clans during a gathering. He is described as a "brown and white tom".

Hi! First of all, love the AU and fic, I've been keeping up with it for about a year now and I love seeing new updates on it! Secondly, I was wondering two things... #1. Is Adderfang still Thistlestar's mentor in this AU? I don't believe we ever saw much of their Mentor-Apprentice relation in the fic if it existed, (likely because Adderfang hates Thistlestar so much xD) what was that like? Do you think Adderfang's reaction being so extreme was not only because he loves his daughter, but also because he felt betrayed at his former apprentice's actions? and #2. In Leopardstar's honor, a timeline is given for Mosspelt's pregnancy and relationship with Frogleap, and through another wonderful oversight by the Erins, Mosspelt apparently was pregnant while she was still an apprentice, from Frogleap, a cat who was ~4 years old. She gave birth around the same age as Spottedleaf had the Firesibs! I know that the BT timeline is a bit altered from canon, and that the fic pre-dates some later retcons from the series, like Volewhisper surviving. Is Frogleap having a predatory relationship with Mosspaw/pelt a thing that happened in BT? If so, what was that like for Mosspelt? Did she ever get any support in her hardships? did Dawnflower join the rebels out of a disdain for Thistlestar, knowing he has done terrible things like her father did as well? Anyways, that's about all. Sorry for such a long message! Thanks for putting so much time into your work and making such a great fic, and for taking the time to read my questions!!

yes Adderfang is still Thistlestar's mentor! i don't believe if it was ever mentioned in the fic or any one-shots, but he is lol. Adderfang's reaction was so extreme because Spottedpaw was his Precious Baby Girl and he very abruptly realized during the reveal how awful it was that someone in a position of power was getting with an apprentice (he would not have been so aggressive if this was a situation with a different apprentice and warrior---for example, Whitepaw and Goldenflower, or something. he cared and got protectively angry so much because it was his own daughter affected). the fact that Thistlestar was his own apprentice honestly didn't even cross his mind until it was over, and then it was just a very angry thought process of "i never taught him to be like that! (did i teach him to be like that?)" (yes, he taught him to be like that---not a predator, but he taught, unintentionally, Thistlestar to be more aggressive. remember, Adderfang was a part of Thistleclaw's groups that attacked kittypets for no reason.)

in BT canon, Mosspelt and Frogleap's relationship isn't touched upon much because I didn't realize how young Mosspelt was and also I'm not sure how much their age gap changes with the condensed timeline in BT lol. But! But! There are always hidden inappropriate relationships in the background (like, WillowTawny, although that's not really in the bg, but compared to SpottedThistle, GrassThistle, and DawnFinch, its not as prominent. also ShadeThistle is a bg bad-relationship. and i believe Cloudrunner x Morningflower would be one too, and there's definitely more. and future ones, like Snowbird x Scorchfur), so I do think Frog and Moss could be as it is in accidentally implied canon, where Frog groomed Moss. after all, most of RiverClan was pretty accepting of Thistle getting with Grass, weren't they? well, in general, it is---or was---unfortunately an acceptable part of clan culture. I do think that there is a multitude here; I think Frogleap is not as manipulative as Thistlestar, and cared more genuinely about Mosspelt and her emotions. While that does not make what he did okay AT ALL, I think Mosspelt did not experience as much negative emotions about the situation, and she doesn't perceive herself as being preyed upon. There are real life relationships like this, and they're definitely not ideal, and there's issues, but sometimes it just works out like that. i think there might have been issues down the line though, if Frogleap had survived, and Mosspelt had grown more as a person and developed differences in her personality than to how she was as an apprentice/young warrior. I'm getting "they died a happy couple, but if he had lived, she would have grown up and become more independent and he'd get upset at the changes, and then she'd divorce him" vibes

Dawnflower was one of Thistlestar's victims! it's mentioned a few times in passing that Thistlestar would 'go on patrol' with Dawnpaw, or look at Dawnpaw. actually, most young she-cats in RiverClan (Silverstream, Grasswhisker, Vixenleap, Shadepelt, Dawnflower, Primroseleaf, Feathertail, etc.) experienced some level of "creepiness" with Thistlestar. Dawnpaw/flower was one of the ones that Thistlestar would definitely say a bunch of weird shit to and touch her, but they never did anything past that. still, Dawnflower was scared shitless by him and terrified he'd do something she didn't want to him. she also just hated how aggressive/annoying Thistle and Lightning's rule was, so she left the instant she had an out (LeopardClan), though she was also really scared to leave her family/home behind, and worried for her siblings/friends. Dawnflower also definitely thinks of Frogleap (her dad) as a good warrior, and has no idea his and Mosspelt's relationship would have been similar to what she was experiencing (though, again, Mosspelt viewed Frogleap's attention as a much more positive thing, sort of like how Spottedleaf did with Thistlestar at the beginning. Meanwhile, Dawnflower was just always scared of his attention)

it's interesting, definitely, that Mosspelt stood against Thistlestar and what he'd done, yet never saw that she was victim to something similar too... though, to be fair, she joined LeopardClan because she supported Leopardfur as a close friend (through Frogleap) and knew Leopardfur was being unjustly accused, not necessarily out of a hatred of Thistlestar himself. much to think about...

“So, Stormfur,” Squirrelpaw begins, “do you have anyone waiting on you back in RiverClan?” All heads swivel towards him, expecting; Feathertail grins.

“I mean, I know Mistyfoot misses us--”

“No, I meant, like, in a romantic way.”

“Oh. Then I guess not?”

“Really?” Brambleclaw asks, and Stormfur can’t fathom why he sounds surprised by that. It makes Stormfur’s pelt feel like it’s two sizes too tight.

“I mean, I don’t think anyone has ever really thought about me like that before-”

Feathertail snorts. Before he can stop himself, he turns to face her with an accusatory look and asks, “What?”

“Ohh,” Tawnypelt drawls. “Feathertail knows something!”

“It’s nothing,” she replies, innocent. “If Stormfur doesn’t want to admit to it, I won’t force him.”

“Lame,” Crowpaw says. “Stop playing coy so that we can all go to sleep, Stormfur.”

Stormfur scowls. “I’m not playing coy. Nobody has ever had a crush on me, at least not in RiverClan.”

His answer seems to physically pain Feathertail. “Stormfur, please. If you’re going to lie about it, at least don’t go so extreme.”

“I’m not lying!” Stormfur cries, his fur fluffed in distress. “If you know something that I don’t know, Feathertail, you’re more than welcomed to enlighten me!”

Feathertail squints at her brother as a hush falls over the group. Then she asks, “Have you seriously never noticed Hawkfrost and Dawnflower fighting over you?”

If the wind would pick up just a little bit, it would be enough to knock Stormfur over.

“Two cats are mooning over you?” Squirrelpaw demands. “I only asked you to share one, and here you are with two!”

“Technically I count three cats because one time Mothwing told me that if she was into toms, she would jump Stormfur’s bones.”

The entire group starts shouting at this revelation, equal parts thrilled and scandalized. “Mothwing did not say that to you,” Stormfur accuses, only able to focus on one thing at a time.

“She totally did. She was all like, “do you think they really jumped each other’s bones?” and I said, “who knows, there’s always tension between those two”, and Mothwing said, “well, good for Hawkpaw, I would jump Stormpaw’s bones too if I was into toms”.”

“When was this?” Stormfur demands. Only a moment too late does he piece together the answer for himself, and then he panics. “Wait, don’t--”

“It was right after Leopardstar basically told the entire Clan that you and Hawkfrost snuck out of camp in the middle of the night to jump each other’s bones.”

Crowpaw inhales such a sharp breath that he begins choking on it. Brambleclaw demands, “Leopardstar did what?!”

“We were apprentices!” Stormfur rushes to defend himself. “And nothing happened! We just-- we wanted to spar, that’s all!”

Tawnypelt eyes Stormfur like he’s personally insulted her intelligence. “Stormfur, do you honestly expect us to believe that you and another cat snuck out in the middle of the night to spar?”

“We were-- you know, hot-blooded and we had a lot of emotions to work through!”

Squirrelpaw cackles. “I’m never going to complain about Firestar embarrassing me ever again!”

Stormfur fixes Feathertail with a glare because this is all her fault. “Traitor,” he hisses.

“You asked,” Feathertail replies with a shrug.

“Wait,” Crowpaw finally manages to speak, finally overcoming his coughing fit. “Who’s Dawnflower?”

“Just a friend!”

Feathertail snorts. “Stormfur saved her from drowning like two moons ago and she’s been head-over-heels for him ever since.”

“Aw,” Tawnypelt says. “That’s sweet. Way sweeter than you sneaking out and getting your bones jumped, Stormfur.”

“Can we please stop saying that?!”

Feathertail raises her voice and agrees, “It is sweet! And then it’s also very entertaining whenever Hawkfrost and Dawnflower have to be near each other to do anything because they just glare at each other the entire time and Stormfur is completely oblivious.”

The wind picks up a little bit and knocks Stormfur over. He lays in his makeshift nest and bemoans, “I can’t believe this.”

“Oh, poor you,” Brambleclaw mumbles. Suddenly he can’t even look at Stormfur anymore.

Feathertail tries to settle into the nest with Stormfur, but he pushes her away. “Make your own nest tonight,” he grumbles.

Feathertail blinks, annoyed. “You know I can’t sleep by myself!”

Crowpaw clears his throat. “I think I made my nest a little bit big--”

Stormfur moves over to make room for Feathertail, shooting her a look that clearly reads, Don’t even think about it. Feathertail rolls her eyes, good-natured, and climbs into their nest. “Thanks anyway, Crowpaw.”

Suddenly Crowpaw can’t look at him anymore, either. Stormfur is perfectly okay with that. He actually wouldn’t mind if nobody ever looked at him ever again. Stormfur wouldn’t mind if everyone just forgot that he existed, even.

Reading his thoughts, Feathertail purrs. “You’re so dramatic. As if you truly didn’t know, fish-brain.”

No, thinks Stormfur. I didn’t.

Any Dawnflower lore?

I haven't planned much for her, honestly, besides that she is now the mother of Willowshine instead of her half-sister.

She's either Traditionalist or Fire Alone, as one of the TPB TigerClan rebels. Dawnflower and her mom Mosspelt are two specific cats who owe their lives to Deerfoot taking the names of his co-conspirators to the grave.

Based on some timeline reworks, it would actually make sense if Dawnflower gave birth while staying with the Tribe, instead of Willowshine being born in the Forest Territory. That aside, Dawnflower's probably the reason why her other daughter Minnowtail feels so comfortable seeing Mousewhisker.

So... not too much, really. But she could have a more expanded role since I reworked the lake territory so that RiverClan sometimes does share a border with ThunderClan. She's an experienced senior warrior and an above-average fighter.

Hi! I'd like to ask if MouseMinnow is canon in Po12. Feel free to ignore this, tho. Do they have kits? If so, what are their looks and story? How did the love develop? I love ur AUs and drawing style too!

Yes they are canon! Mousewhisker joins RiverClan after The Great Battle and he and Minnowtail have a single kit - Havenkit. She's a good mix of both her parents, and is rather spunky and sarcastic personality wise. She's playful and loves to swim, with a cunning nature. She wants what's best for her clan and isn't afraid to make her opinion known.

Mousepaw first met Minnowpaw when he slipped while crossing the bridge that led to the Gathering, Minnowpaw being the one who jumps in and saves him. Grateful for her saving him, and impressed with her nonetheless, Mousepaw develops a small crush on her and attempts to be her friend, but his social awkwardness makes her more uncomfortable than anything. While starting out on the wrong foot, Mousepaw manages to start a friendship after their match up in the Daylight Gathering where he shows off how much he had improved his swimming. While Minnowpaw still beats him easily and wins the whole thing, she gets a good laugh out of seeing how hard he had worked just to hold his own against her.

Minnowpaw starts having vivid dreams, a ginger tortie greeting her with a soft and motherly tone. With Pebblepaw having left to find SkyClan, Minnowpaw tries to confide in Willowpaw and ask for advice. The medicine cat apprentice theorizes maybe the motherly feeling of the cat has something to do with Minnowpaw's ongoing issues with her mother Dawnflower. This intrigues Minnowpaw and she opens up to the mysterious tortie, who introduces herself as Mapleshade. Minnowpaw feels strangely comforted by Mapleshade, who fills that void as a mother that Dawnflower had not. That is when Minnowpaw begins training with Mapleshade.

One night though, Minnowpaw learns Mousepaw also walks in these strange dreams. She doesn't realize how real the Dark Forest is just yet, and think she's just thinking about the ThunderClan tom more. She gets a bit flustered, defensive even, perhaps in her own head - trying to find some meaning to Mousepaw in her dreams now. She finds herself looking forward to seeing him and training alongside him, even after she learns of the reality of her dreams.

Mapleshade allows Minnowpaw to train with Mousepaw, seeing him as a motivator for her, but begins to have her opinion soured as she sees the genuine romance blossoming between the two. A RiverClan and ThunderClan relationship? She felt a bitter sensation well up inside her, but held her tongue, for she knew how important it was to keep Minnowpaw walking in The Dark Forest. Still, it was clear to everyone that the two were becoming more than friends within the realm of dreams.

Time passes and the two receive their warrior names. By this point SkyClan has rejoined the forest, The Kin have been dealt with, and Minnowtail understands her role within the 12 and that the Dark Forest is bad news. Still, she has continued her role as a spy. She doesn't share her relationship with Mousewhisker with anyone, not even her brother Pebblefoot. However, Willowshine had begin to catch onto the two at Gatherings and had asked some questions, but Minnowtail brushed her off. Mousewhisker is feeling a bit lost within ThunderClan, but feels at home when he sees Minnowtail.

When the truth of Minnowtail's deceit is revealed due to Flametail's betrayal, she's forced to watch as Mousewhisker is dragged forward and is struck a lethal blow by Mapleshade to make an example of what will come should they attempt to fight back again. As Mousewhisker bleeds out, it is only thanks to Minnowtail’s love for him that her desperate pleas reach Jayfeather in his his sleep, the two bonded through the Dream Domain. Jayfeather is awoken and smells blood, managing to get to Mousewhisker and save his life.

Mousewhisker largely takes a back seat after that, daring not walk in the Dark Forest, but suffering night terrors and panic attacks as he grapples with his near death experience as well as the absence of Minnowtail. Much of the clan is logically asking how something like that could've happened to him, but Jayfeather knows they can't speak up, not yet. Also side note the other Dark Forest trainees in ThunderClan like Birchfall for instance aren't there to witness Mousewhisker's attack, only Lionblaze.

That time apart really does a number on them, Minnowtail and Mousewhisker longing to see each other but knowing it wasn't safe. Going into The Great Battle, Mousewhisker had already decided he wanted to be with Minnowtail, even if it meant leaving his family in ThunderClan. Seeing this act of selflessness, Mapleshade is enraged. It's a bitter reminder of how her own story went, and how blessed Minnowtail's love with Mousewhisker was - he truly would do anything for her. The pair fight off Minnowtail's former mentor, their familiarity with her moves allowing them to gain the upper hand and send her crashing into the water where she's washed away.

Mistystar is in no position to turn Mousewhisker away after all Minnowtail had done for the clans, so he's accepted in, though reluctantly by some. Willowshine and Pebblefoot see how happy he makes their sister, so that's all that matters to them.

Volestar has a relationship with a ShadowClan cat and they have Mossleaf (who gives Crookedstar, Stormstar in my AU, a life) and Tanglewhisker together. I can do this because I want.

Lilyflower is another cat from Stormstar's leader ceremony. She is the mother of Otterslpash and Brightsky.

Tanglewhisker has two relationships over the course of his life. His RiverClan mate is Birdsong, who he has Cedarpelt, Marshcloud, and Fallowtail with. He then has a relationship with a kittypet, probably part Savannah cat? we gotta get those spots in here somewhere. This fling results in Mudfur.

Brightsky and Mudfur have Leopardstar and her siblings. They don't have canon names but I think I like Scalekit, Grasskit, and Washkit.

How Fallowtail and Reedfeather have two gray children when they are both light brown is beyond me. So I've made Reed a black tabby.

I've renamed Mosspelt to Mosspetal because I think it's cute.

Sunfish and Beetlenose have Whiteclaw, Vixenleap, Grasswhisker, and Greenflower together.

Graypool has Swankit, Morningkit, and Splashkit with not Rippleclaw. Someone else unspecified.

Featherstorm and one of her mates, Hal, and his daughter, Russetfur. Then Featherstorm and Hal's kits Raggedstar and Scorchwind, and Scorchwind's mate Darkflower, and their son Cedarheart. Also apparently Rowanstar is their son as well. Then Featherstorm took a different mate in Blizzardwing, and they had Mosspaw, Dawncloud, and Volewhisper. Dawncloud became mates with Finchflight and they had Blossomkit and Swampkit. Blizzardwing had an affair I guess with Hollyflower, and they had Blackstar, Flintfang, and Fernshade, and Fernshade became mates with Wolfstep and had Badgerfang. I think this may be the most convoluted Shadowclan family, I had to split it up too.
