I guess to follow up that I know as a fandom we agree that Odalia favors the twins but I kinda just realize, we haven’t seen her intact with them that much either. Does she favor them really? Or does she neglect them while abusing amity the most? And what do they think of her?
i think the facts that she favors them AND the fact that she just neglects them more while abusing amity more are both true
(i think around early s1 that was one of the sources of their rivalry with amity. amity resented them for being odalia's favorite, they resented amity because she got more attention from both parents)
i think it's best represented by that one scene in coth where she's scolding amity like "you've even got the twins to act out!" (whereas we know well that the twins do not need prompting to "act out" and that their plans for causing chaos were way more extreme than amity's). the mix of blaming amity but also clearly not knowing anything about her oldest children.
i think she may even have moments of expressing affection to them but it's things that just feel hollow. praises that feel more like she's praising herself, expensive gifts that don't suit their tastes at all, etc.
most of what we hear them say about her in canon is just "don't tell mom!" i think they mostly see her as the threat she is. but at the same time their feelings towards her are probably complicated, the way most people's feelings towards their shitty parents are at that age.
i think when they were young, they might have gravitated more towards her than alador, because they were her favorites but not his. but as they grew up they realized that both of their parents were pretty equally neglectful to them.
my headcanon is that soon post-divorce, they're equally wary of both alador and odalia, because both parents neglected them pretty equally throughout their childhood. but as time progresses, alador improves and apologizes while odalia stays stuck in her old ways and refuses to acknowledge her mistakes, so they slowly end up not talking to her anymore. like it's more of a gradual thing than the way amity cut her off. (i had begun exploring this idea in a post-canon fic that i never ended up finishing)

i can't really fit it into my fic but listen. Teen!Odalia has a massive hatecrush on Teen!Eda. They have a ~~Rivalry~~. (The rivalry is Eda making fun of Odalia and Odalia Being Mad about it all day and spending hours composing a Devastating Letter on all of Eda's flaws, and then Eda hardly glances at it before chucking it in the bin and Odalia cries because her work was not appreciated.) Odalia owns a dress she bought specifically to wear at Eda's funeral and it's the nicest thing she owns. She writes all the ways Eda was the Worst today in her diary and draws little hearts around them.

i can tell when the author of a fanfic im reading had a peaceful childhood
#krav talks#not to pull the 'i have actual ptsd from a traumatic childhood' card but im gonna be real#i dont think some of y'all understand exactly what hunter's childhood was like#belos also most likely was not the verbally abusive type of parent. he was physically and emotionally abusive FOR SURE. ABSOLUTELY#but theres no shot he'd just yell at hunter. he doesn't get angry like that#case in point: What Happened To Caleb#hunter isnt gonna start crying from someone yelling at him out of anger. he'll get triggered MAYBE#hunter gets fighty if he gets triggered by ANY older authority figure. kikimora and lilith werent exactly kind to him either#the only way hunter cries is when his friends are around bcus he feels so safe with them#you know who would cry over being yelled at like that??? amity.#sure later in her life she probably got into screaming matches with odalia#but if u think even she wouldnt burst into tears if she got yelled at by any older female authority figure in her life#then u r wrong. sorry#hunter was not allowed to be vulnerable. it was too dangerous to be. he also had NO ONE while under belos's thumb.#amity had her siblings. they probably gave her safe spaces to cry it out after getting verbally abused by their mom#if lilith lost her patience and raised her voice at amity (not in a mean way bcus lilith would literally Never but no one is perfect)#amity would start crying for sure. and then lilith would feel like the worst person in the world. scum of the earth.#and god forbid hunter sees this exchange. he'd rip lilith a new one even if she'd already apologized#he wouldnt stop chewing her out for even daring to speak to The Amity Blight so disrespectfully unless amity physically pulled him away.#and then he'd threaten lilith and flash step amity away and immediately call luz#now if a MAN tried to yell at amity she would be three seconds away from throwing hands#but she wouldnt even need to worry about getting her hands dirty bcus hunter would already be shoving the man to the fucking ground#and threatening to end his entire life if he even stepped foot into hunter's field of view ever again#this is why its hard for me to imagine hunter living with darius post-belos... darius wasnt kind to him at first either.#and i think hunter living with someone who had actually had a role in his traumatic childhood would make him. regress#he'd fall back into old behaviors without even noticing. im not entirely sure darius would notice either#i love darius and i love darius & hunters bond so much#but it makes so much more sense and would be so much better for hunter to live with the nocedas for a while#not permanently. camila did great with paying for 6 kids under her roof but she was one emergency away from financial devastation#and i dont think hunter would want to live in the human realm permanently either

au where the day of unity isn't until decades later and luz never comes to the boiling isles. willow somehow still gets transferred to the plant track and gets really good at her craft. amity never learns that bullying is bad, actually and they never reconciled in school.
and years later, blight industries is the most affluent company on the isles. odalia continues to be allergic to letting amity, who is her only child at this point to not run away from home the moment they turned 18 and cut all contact, associate with witches of "lower social standing."
so eventually when odalia tells amity that she's going to find her a nice respectable spouse amity just rolls her eyes and goes with it. maybe its some other heir to a big company. maybe it's a captain from the emperor's coven. maybe it's even the golden guard, if hunter managed to survive that long.
and then eventually she finds out that her mother has been trying to get her a date with PLANT COVEN HEAD WILLOW PARK
you've seen the countless amity x hunter miserable arranged marriage aus get ready for the amillow friends to enemies to arranged marriage to friends again to lovers 50k slowburn

Amity Blight and Her Broken Strings
So, on Twitter, I saw someone say something about Amity and Hunter's relationship (obviously platonic. People who ship them romantically are gross.)
Tumblr media
Naturally, I agree with this, as you've seen in my fics Kindness and Forgiveness as well as Road Trip. I feel like they share a best friend/basically sibling sentiment towards each other, and that Amity wouldn't bare ill will towards Hunter having been through the same things he has... HOWEVER, this also brought me to another thought, and it begs a question... Why was Amity, out of all of Hexsquad, able to move when she was turned into a puppet?
Tumblr media
Simply really, she was already someone's puppet before and she broke free of their control...
Tumblr media
Much like Hunter was because of Belos, Amity was being used, lied to, manipulated and controlled by Odalia. And think about how awful Odalia was to her. Forcing her to break her friendship with Willow, threatening to expel her friends from Hexside, coming between her and her girlfriend. Using her to test weapons and humiliating her publicly. And all so Odalia could have a 'perfect little girl' who was just like her. Amity never understood that things could be different, that she could choose her own destiny. In the care of her mother, she was little more than a puppet...
Tumblr media
And of course, we know that Amity's friends helped her realize that. Especially one who kinda became a little more than a friend...
Tumblr media
And of course, her understanding and realizing that her dream and goal being that she "wanted to choose her path herself" was what awakened Ghost and gave her a staff. Being able to control your own life, as a victim of child abuse, is so important, especially when you've gone through as much as Amity and especially Hunter. And that's why I think she was able to move on her own, because she is no one's puppet, not anymore. Amity Blight broke free of her chains and she is never, EVER, going to be shackled and puppeted again...

Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s wild to me that the storyboards for Watching and Dreaming depict Odalia taking Camila’s place during this scene, and at a notable distance from the kids here, no less…
It really makes me wonder if the original plan was for Odalia to use the light glyph to awaken the kids from their puppet states, hence the setup of her being in the Archives as the Collector’s servant. She would’ve helped the kids save the people of the Demon Realm, perhaps realizing that her way of life was simply unsustainable, and that she contributed to Belos possessing the Boiling Isles as both knowing bystander and supporter.
         They’d ultimately succeed, but Odalia being at a distance from the kids implies that they don’t ever forgive her; They won’t go out of their way to kill Odalia, nor keep her from improving as a person. But they don’t owe her personal forgiveness, which I appreciate. We may still have some variation of this scene where Amity reunites with Alador;
Tumblr media
Odalia may or may not be salty, but it still reminds the viewer that even after all that, Amity rightfully doesn’t forgive Odalia, and chooses Alador; While Odalia is visibly upset, but can’t do anything about this but just maintain distance and accept it (Hence why she looks so awkward and closed-off, compared to Camila rejoicing with the kids in the final product).
Tumblr media
         That makes me wonder if we would’ve seen her in the epilogue, with the group shot depicting Odalia notably isolated from the rest of her family, instead besides Tibbles or something like that, as redeemed capitalists (maybe we should put her at the top left). Her redemption IS accepted, but not by her family members, who still maintain a distance;
Odalia improving herself could also be a way to emphasize one of the themes of the finale; That people can and should be allowed to change, but also they must choose to do so for themselves. Having Odalia be a contrast to Belos would’ve further hammered in that idea; They’re both detested by the fandom as abusive, controlling parents who mold their kids into the image of someone else, are complicit in the same genocide (to varying degrees), represent a particular real-world social ill, etc. Both claim to act on behalf of their families, but it’s clear they’re actually just self-interested.
These parallels highlight that the main difference between these two, why Belos is killed unmourned while Odalia has hopes for a brighter future, is that Odalia actually chose to change. It’s Restorative VS Retributive Justice taken to its natural conclusion; The fact that Odalia is much younger, and thus has turned down far less chances to turn back, also contributes to why she’s actually willing to change, as she hasn’t doubled down the same way Belos did, while still being guilty of some heinous things (Note that Blight Industries, as an arms manufacturer, always got its wealth off of the expectation that others will be hurt and even killed; It’s blood money).
It may also add to the Collector’s story; They’ve failed to redeem Belos, so it’d be easy to believe that their compassion is an inherent mistake, as is giving others a chance, the agency to decide for themselves, etc. So when Luz reassures the Collector that they DID do good… Well, they end up going to the Archives to prevent it from collapsing. And THAT leads to the Collector potentially seeing Odalia, maybe being wary after what happened with Belos (Odalia and Belos are both adults who sought to exploit the Collector for their own ends)…
But the Collector doesn’t let Belos ruin their compassion and accepts Odalia’s change, even if they personally may not forgive her (They have less of a past with Odalia than the other kids, so it’s not as unlikely). Just as Gus felt like his kindness was taken advantage of, only to be reminded afterwards that it’s still worth it in the end when Hunter does reciprocate, we could’ve gotten something like that with the Collector and Odalia.
And on another note, I also wonder if this was the writers’ way of addressing criticisms regarding how Odalia was handled in Clouds on the Horizon, by providing a sympathetic side to her character as compensation; We’re reminded in the episode right after that Eda still remembers her as a stand-offish friend and not an Evil Child, instead of the writers doubling down by excluding Odalia from that flashback. Eda thinks she’s about to die here, but the memory of who Odalia once was is included to comfort her alongside other childhood companions, reminding us she wasn’t always like this and isn’t pure evil (not without working to become that at least).
Tumblr media
But by the end of the day, it seems the writers opted to exchange Odalia’s role for Camila having more of a story in the finale, and tbh… I think that’s the right call, I agree with them there. This is the series finale to a show that’s ultimately about Luz, our main protagonist, and it’s why the finale places particular emphasis on Luz, and her relationship with her fellow main protagonists Eda and King. If they did take the Odalia route, I think we still would’ve seen Camila reunite with Luz at the Owl House, meet Eda and King, etc. But…
Tumblr media
Camila is Luz’s mother, and their relationship is the inciting, beginning incident of the series. To see it all start because Camila was worried for her daughter, only to finally encounter a worst-case scenario with Luz despite everything she did to improve… and emphasizing her reaction to it, how Camila handles herself, picks herself up because as much as it hurts, she’s got other kids to look after? Just as Camila picked herself up after Manny’s death for Luz’s sake? Or kept herself strong in Yesterday’s Lie for Vee? Good stuff.
It wraps up Camila’s storyline more nicely, as someone whom we began the series with Luz; Camila is more important than Odalia, so I don’t blame the writers at all for prioritizing her. Odalia having a redemption of sorts likely would’ve felt too rushed, and while she contributes to the narrative of Belos, the Collector, and Amity, Camila contributes to Luz’s story and thus takes precedent, especially at this point in the story.
Especially since some have criticized TOH’s handling of characters of color; The crew has shown themselves responsive to these points, hence Luz and Camila’s hair changing in S3. So I wouldn’t be surprised if the criticism of white characters being prioritized over PoC stuck, and contributed to them having Odalia get shafted for Camila, rather than the other way around. It’s not perfect (an ideal situation in terms of budget and/or writing would’ve had both), but it does show a willingness to listen and actually respond to criticism, which I appreciate.
Tumblr media
So in the end, the kids are awakened from their puppet states, not by a conscious Odalia who isn’t transformed and stumbles across the light glyph, but because like Camila, Amity is able to muster enough emotional will over her love of Luz to barely nudge her finger... just enough to tap the light glyph and activate it, freeing herself! The kids go out of their way to free Camila for help, and we get to reap the rewards of Camila’s development in how she copes with her daughter’s death, when fear for Luz was what incited the series and led to a less-than-ideal handling of the situation.
Tumblr media
Camila gets to guide the kids with glyphs like her daughter does, showing an engagement with the isles after being apprehensive in the previous episode; And a connection to Luz, who has the Titan’s magic and is powering these spells… Camila is unwittingly calling upon her daughter for help and Luz is answering! And when it’s done, Camila gets to stand by the kids and not at a distance, because they love and accept her for having always been a good mother to them.

Man, you know what hit me while watching For the Future, and I didn’t say anything about it at the time but it’s been circulating in my head since then?
Amity saying to Boscha “This is a bit much, even for you!”, in comparison to her father a few episodes back saying “this is too much— even for you.” The similarity in structure, the difference in delivery, you know.
And I keep thinking about the theory that Alador and Odalia were pushed to marry by their parents, and about how Amity was pushed to be friends with Boscha, and imagining a bad future where Luz didn’t show up and they ended up in a similar position.
It’s not going to be that bad, right? Sure, Amity never really *liked* Boscha, but you don’t have to like someone to be their friend, you just have to be around them, do things with them, listen when they talk. Having a wife will be like that, right? She’ll just… do the things she’s supposed to do, and live alongside her. It’ll be fine.
The wedding is just another formal event her parents throw, with the complication of Boscha’s parents being part of it too, and constantly trying to one-up hers. In her final act of rebellion, Amity sends Willow an invitation. She doesn’t come. Amity closes a door.
Odalia lightens up on urging Amity to join the Emperor’s Coven when she realizes that as the only one of their kids who follows in Alador’s footsteps magic-wise, it’d be better for her to train to take over the factory someday. She can’t say she exactly enjoys working under her father, since he only ever talks about work, and not even with the spark of interest in his eyes she remembers him having when she was little. Her mother spends most of her time sniping at her mothers-in-law and asking when grandkids are coming, though, and the twins are gadding about through high society and making fun of her whenever they can, so he’s kind of the family member she’s closest to by default.
Things don’t really go well. Boscha thinks the way their mothers constantly fight is hilarious, and she definitely enjoys the status that comes along with the Blight name, but she definitely doesn’t love the way her new in-laws expect her to wind potions skills into the family business or else just stay out of the way. She wants to win trophies, not be one. She’s also not stupid, and she knows Amity doesn’t love her— knew since long before the wedding, but she hoped that would change over time, and as it continues not to she’s building up an intense resentment. They were meant for each other, why can’t Amity see it? She’s being the queen of Bonesborough society, they’re on top together just like it was in high school only better, but Amity still doesn’t love her, and it’s not fair.
Some years on, they have a daughter. She’s the absolute light of Amity’s life, but by the time she’s toddling Boscha is already starting to take out some of her resentment on her. She pushes her too hard, she makes fun of the way she garbles words. The baby’s  just being a baby, and Amity tries to get Boscha to lighten up, but Boscha says she’s just having fun and being a mom, which Amity isn’t because she’s working all day, and she doesn’t have a comeback for that.
Amity’s trying to calm Boscha down, taking her to matches when she has a rare night off and they can get a sitter, but it just prickles at her more— she wants to be on the field, not watching; she wants to be on a real date with her wife, not an awkward attempt at appeasement.
It’s all eating away at Amity. She looks into her daughter’s three beautiful gold eyes and she’s terrified her little girl will feel like this, someday.
She’s sleepwalking through her days, she feels like one of her mother’s ghosts. She’s working, because it’s the only thing she really understands anymore. She’s elbow-deep in the beta design for the 3.6, and she nearly jumps out of her skin when her father puts a hand on her shoulder.
He has a bottle of hard apple blood. They go sit on the roof, and they talk.
She can’t say she sees a way through to happiness, but at least she’s not alone. That’s something, isn’t it?

I want ALL of your Amity's analysis. Do u hear me? ALL, hahaha
ok bet
The family Amity grew up in was very simple: Odalia and Alador are the authority, Edric and Emira can do no wrong (though, of course, it’s more complicated than that), and Amity can never be enough.
Luz was everything Amity wanted to be herself.
She loved Grudgby, but she stopped playing it because she didn’t like the person she was while playing.
She has no fucking idea on how to talk to people, including and especially Willow.
Amity wasn’t going to fucking dissect Luz, and neither was Principal Bump.
Amity Blight does not cheat. That is an essential part of her character. She does not cheat to get to where she is, because 1) Blights don’t cheat (and it doesn’t matter whether or not that’s actually true) and 2) Amity doesn’t cheat. Amity doesn’t cheat because she’s worked hard for every single thing she’s ever been given and cheating would undermine her entire character.
She doesn’t have many safe spaces, so when she does find one, she makes sure to go all-out on making it feel like home.
Amity grew up having to justify every single thing she did to her parents, having to justify her own existence, and that especially includes things she enjoys.
If Luz hadn’t joined Edric and Emira in the library during Lost in Language, the relationship between the twins and Amity literally would have been damaged irreparably. She would have never spoken to them again.
Luz was the first person on-screen to make her laugh.
She is just a little bit dumb sometimes <3
Luz saying “We can fix this together” in Understanding Willow is one of the most monumental moments in Amity’s entire life.
If it weren’t for Luz, Amity almost 100% would’ve campaigned for the role of Grom Queen. Because Luz was there, though, her fears changed, and she knew it.
Amity was going to confess to Luz before she had to go and fight Grometheus in Enchanting Grom Fright, but Luz offering to take her place stopped her in her tracks, because she wasn’t at all ready for that.
Amity’s fear, too, is the culmination of everything she was scared of losing, not just Luz rejecting her advances.
After King’s reassurance in Eclipse Lake, she’s self-aware enough to understand that the similarities between herself and Hunter don’t necessarily have to be a bad thing, and she makes a conscious effort to reach out to him.
She started learning Spanish before she was stranded in the Human Realm in an attempt to further connect with Luz.
Amity does not snoop through Luz’s things even when she thinks knowing more could help because she’s had that happen to her and she understands how small it makes you feel. She is ridiculously emotionally intelligent when it comes to Luz, and, later, when it comes to herself.
She would do anything for her friends.
She’s the only witch who’s ever read The Good Witch Azura series, which she latched onto because it served as a sort of escape for her. She sees herself within Hecate, because despite her wrongdoings, the narrative treats her with kindness. Consequently, the book in which Hecate is effectively redeemed is the only one she hadn’t been able to collect herself.
She sets incredible boundaries with her father. He’s trying now, sure, but that doesn’t take back the years of pain, and it shouldn’t.
Amity gets noticeably more and more silly as the time goes on, because she’s coming back into herself.
Also as time goes on, her magic grows more versatile!
She was not trying to antagonize Willow in Labyrinth Runners, but trying way too hard to protect the person that she had once hurt so deeply. It’s a setback, nothing more, and one that arises from miscommunication. It’s settled, too. They’re on the same page now.
And because of that, Amity is able to let herself be silly with Willow, too!!
She may be the least powerful (certainly one of the least powerful, at least) of the main cast, but that’s a good thing.
It’s also a good thing that we haven’t seen her library hideout since season 1, as cute as it was. She doesn’t need it anymore.
Over time, her relationship with her siblings has improved to the point that they know her well enough to know how to calm her down, and she’s comfortable with them to be able to talk freely about Luz.
Amity still had hope for Odalia, because even after everything she’s done to her, Amity still wanted to believe that she wasn’t all bad.
She tried so hard to make sure Luz also got through the portal in King’s Tide. She would’ve stayed behind if Luz did.
Amity knows full well in Thanks to Them that Luz is feeling guilty, if not the extent of it, and she tries to help out by setting up Halloween costumes that she thinks they’ll both love; Hecate and Azura, which is the thing they bonded over initially.
Recognizing that Luz doesn't feel like she deserves love, Amity quotes her girlfriend to show her that, yes, she does, and this is how much she means to her.

I just saw your "Amity raised by Lilith AU" and now I really want to know more.
What's going on with the other Blights, if Lilith had to take Amity where are the twins?
What was Amity's life in the castle like? Did Lilith send her to Hexside and if so is she still friends with Willow?
What's Amity's relationship with Raine and Darius (and by extension Lilith's) like?
How about other people in the EC like Steve? Does Amity know Hunter and share Lilith's animosity with him and view him as a rival (queue "rival jealousy" from Luz) or are they friends?
Does Belos take advantage if Amity's presence in the castle to manipulate Lilith?
How does parenthood change Lilith and her view of Hunter?
Not a question but I also have this image if a tiny (4 or 5 yr old Amity) in a baby carrier thing on Lilith's chest when she goes to arrest Eda, and then Eda turning around to reveal King in a similar baby carrier on her chest. (Queue Spider-Man pointing name and mutual aunt realizations)
Haha, I get asked these a lot too, and I had a few tweets explaining is messily, but let's get this organized in the much better site, shall we?
• Amity was taken shortly after her birth. Prior to her arrival, Alador had already gotten sick of Odalia's mistreatment of him and in extension, the twins. He takes Amity away, pays a few healers to keep it a secret, and (with much hesitation) calls up Darius. He practically begs him to take Amity away from them, and even though Darius CLEARLY still doesn't like Alador, he just has a soft spot for kids. He takes Amity and Odalia is under the impression that Amity had died.
Now, remember, with this in mind, Odalia and the twins DON'T know her existence. If you ask me WHY Lilith ended up with Amity instead of with Darius, I'd tell you that Darius let her watch over her and she came back with adoption papers bc god forbid she has impulse control.
The twins are not aware of Amity's existence (at least until later) and neither is Odalia, but not for long. Alador is still trying to figure out how he can get himself and his two other children out without Odalia realizing. Lilith tries to keep it a secret. Amity's aware she's adopted though lol.
• Amity was practically raised in the castle. She learned to walk there 😭 Imagine a little Amity taking her first steps and the coven guards just cooing over her in the hallway. Like that. When she got older, she was allowed to go back to Darius' house alone (Lilith does not have a house and Darius is kind of like a guardian to her too, so...)
She personally prefers to stay in the castle though.
And no, Amity doesn't go to Hexside.
Tumblr media
She's in St. Epiderm! You have to understand, Odalia's part of the Student Creature Association in Hexside, and Lilith CANNOT risk having her find out about Amity. Raine had her enrolled in their old school so she doesn't accidentally come across Odalia. Willow DOES know about her, but thinks she's some spoiled girl who gets a bit too competitive. (They become friends later on!)
• Raine and Darius are her secondary guardians! Kind of like how Uncles and Aunties work. Darius doesn't hold any bitterness towards her for being Alador's child. If anything, it's making him want to rebel more because Amity and Hunter, who are just two children, are being forced into the castle by circumstances they can't control. He can't wait to take them both back home and give them a better life than what the castle has to offer.
He sees Amity as his little sunshine, though you couldn't pay him to admit that to ANYONE. That's his baby, he raised her too ❤️.
Raine was a bit late addition to the parent trio. Though they didn't hesitate to help out if needed. They usually were the one to watch over a hyperactive 4 year old Amity and an equally active 6 year old Hunter during their time as an apprentice to the Bard Covenhead. Amity also talked to Raine about Luz, who she was "feeling funny about" (she is falling so hard) and Raine was watching in amusement.
And y'know. Lilith is her mom. Lilith doesn't get much free time, but she's dedicated it to taking care of Amity as much as she can. Amity is her heart, she could absolutely not take the idea that she could get hurt. She's trying to give her all the attention and love she wished she had gotten from Gwendolyn.
• HUNTER HATRED?? NOOO...!
Do not even suggest such a thing!
Tumblr media
But in all seriousness, she grew up with him! Of course she doesn't hate him!
They see each other as siblings, though none of them have admitted it out loud. Hunter gets a bit sad when he sees Amity with Emira and Edric ("Her real family") and Amity was quick to get that thought off. He was her family too. The two of them are fairly close, both having grown up in the castle. On occasion, Amity sneaks him some snacks and books and stuff he can do on his free time whenever her was on shifts.
They had a MAJOR fallout by the end of season 1 (which I will not disclose yet), so you can imagine how absolutely rage-fueled their duel in Eclipse Lake was in this AU.
• And YES, HE DOES. Belos is a manipulative asshole we all know that. In addition, he does NOT like Amity. He took one look at her, with her brown hair, pointy ears and golden eyes and was reminded of a certain witch 400 years ago. It doesn't help that she likes to hang around with Hunter, either. Belos being haunted by the past because of two gay kids in his castle is so funny to me actually. He constantly holds Amity safety over Lilith's head because he knows how desperate she is to keep her daughter safe.
• And finally. Hunter and Lilith's relationship is much complicated in this AU. She realizes he's just as much of a child as Amity is. She doesn't really have this "animosity" towards him, especially since she takes care of him like Darius does (in secret).
-
So anyways! Don't be afraid to ask more, I like getting questions! And yes, Lilith does, in fact, bring baby Amity along when she goes on missions to capture Eda. Amity likes her Auntie Eda, goes over to the Owl House and plays with King if she can. Eda doesn't really mind her randomly popping up in her house lol.

okay so here’s some owl house meta: i LOVE the statement that the owl house is making on childhood. so often in culturally christian media the depiction of childhood is this state of innocence that we all get kicked out of. you are a WORSE person because you’ve grown up. if you stayed a little child and followed like a little child then jesus would love you more.
so much of the owl house is about king maturing. in a lot of ways, he starts the show off as a brat. he’s a funny adorable brat! but he’s... a brat.
he’s not considerate. he’s very possessive of eda and luz’s time and attention because they’re his people and he has that inflated sense of importance that’s implied to be from being a titan. he steals the work that he and luz spent so much time on together, changes the ending, slaps his name on it, and then takes all the credit. and he doesn’t understand how that’s hurt luz until after it’s already happened and he has to apologize and figure out how to fix it.
king is a bit of a brat, but he’s not any special type of bad. he’s a kid and kids don’t really understand a lot of things about how the rest of the world works. that is my favorite person and my big feeling and how dare everyone not cater to it?
but king spends a lot of the show growing into being the kind of person that luz and eda are so proud of. he figures out how to let luz go. he figures out how to embrace his relationship with eda as a son but still hold on hope of finding his bio dad. he learns that he does not, in any way shape or form, actually want to be worshiped. that’s weird! why would lilith do that! i just want to be... baby. i want to be adored for being me. i want to help my friends! i want to make my big sister proud!
being a titan might have seemed like a dream come true in the first few episodes for him. he probably would have thrown himself a party with his burger king crown and declared himself ruler of the boiling isles. but now he understands that it’s a nightmare scenario, other than being powerful enough to help people.
and... he does whatever he can to help now. he talks alador blight into going against odalia with them. he seeks out the collector to talk him into saving them from the spell. and the collector might not really be evil. maybe he is. maybe that’s what we’re going for, but he might also just be a kid who hurts people because he thinks it’s fun and doesn’t understand how else to be.
so now we a character that resembles a beginning of the show king but with the  unspeakable power he thought he wanted because the collector is a kid with godly power and no one to guide him. maybe the collector is a foe to defeat, but i think that he’s going to be an ally to befriend. he is a child, and children can (and do) grow.
i think that king is going to do one of the things that he admires most about his big sister: turn an enemy into a friend through kindness and understanding

I'm having some Alador thoughts (favorite dilf) and now it's everybody's problem lmao, may make more but this is what I have right now
...
You probably start as Aladors lab assistant/mechanic and work your way up in the company to be an important shareholder and person in Blight Industries. While Odalia handles most of the finances and stock holders you and Alador spend endless nights in the lab improving your technology and creating new inventions for the Isles to use.
He's shy at first and very quiet, mostly keeping to himself and his notes. His wife usually talks for him so it takes him awhile to open up to you and really get comfortable with having you around. He's used to workers being replaced quickly and not being able to make connections with his team but you're different. Regardless of how the company or team changes you stick around, a near constant in his life which is something he hasn't had in a long time. Odalia has offered you better pay and better hours in different positions but you enjoy your job and Alador can see your passion as you work. This is where you want to be, in the lab. You make him feel safe and comfortable and soon he thinks you're his closest friend.
Alador once he opens up is always talking about his personal projects and his kids as you work together. He's so proud of his children and while he doesn't spend a lot of time with them and doesn't know as much about them as he'd like he tries to make sure they have anything they could ever ask for and that they have the right to chose what they want to do. Aladors never done this with anyone before (Odalia included) but he shows you his personal journals with ideas he wants to make outside of Blight Industries. He even gives you permission to make notes and changes if you see anything wrong or have thoughts. Tinkering with you on breaks and expanding on your shared ideas has become his new favorite past time.
While he loves sharing his ideas and inventions/secret projects with you he also enjoys sitting and listening to your ideas as you ramble on. How you practically talk to machines with the way you work with them amazes him and he adores how you never let anything stop you from getting a task done. You're hard working, driven, and intelligent, but you're also kind. You bring him coffee and pastries in the morning on your way to work, you stay up late with him so he's not the only one in the lab, you make sure he doesn't chew on pens til they explode, you share your lunch when he forgets his, you give him snacks when he forgets to eat, you force him to take breaks, and you sit and listen to his problems as any good friend or partner should. You make his day better and you make his productivity go up.
When him and Odalia are in the middle of a nasty divorce you are his supportive friend. Alador could lose the company, lose all his hard work but all he cares about are his kids and being able to take care of them, of being able to keep seeing you. He admits to you one night he believes he was having an emotional affair with his wife before they decided to get the divorce. And while he feels guilt over this he needs to tell you. He loves you and he doesn't think he's ever loved anyone as much as he has you.
He hasn't had anyone to talk to in a long time as his wife is emotionally abusive and manipulative. Making sure Alador is always working for the good of the company and never enjoying his life outside of Blight Industries. Her domineering presence is all consuming and whenever she's in the office everyone knows it's going to be a bad day. You know how tricky the situation is with the kids since she uses them as a means of control over her husband and you've just always been his good friend trying to help him in any way you could. Odalia has always been especially nasty to you after you rejected her offer of going higher in the company and you're unsure why but when Alador confesses his feelings it all begins to click. She's jealous.
Alador doesn't want to put you in a situation where you could get hurt or Odalia could tarnish your name. He fears what she'll do if you get together and how much of a scandal she'll make it out to be, but you don't care. Alador is your friend and after hearing him express his feelings for you, you realize he's more. If he wants to try and have a relationship with you so do you.
While dating Alador is tricky because of the divorce and everything going on you're both adults and it is a consensual and healthy relationship. You love his kids having spent time with all of them and you want Alador to know your relationship with him involves them as well, he will never have to choose like Odalia forced him too. There's a lot of complications and sometimes Odalia puts a strain in your new found love but it is love. And you won't let Odalia control Alador or you or the kids anymore. He deserves to be happy and your children deserve to feel safe. And despite what she says they are your children.
His love language is gift giving and providing. While he wants to tell you everything he feels for you he often can't find the words so he makes you inventions or gives you gifts hoping these things can say what he's trying to for him. You always understand and his ears go pink when you give him a kiss in response to his gifts. He sees how well you take care of them and how much you adore him which makes him feel fulfilled. Touch is another part of his love language but like words of affirmation it's hard for him to express. He's not used to gentle or soft touches so you'll have to guide him on how a healthy relationship works. Thankfully he's more than ready to learn. He loves your soft intimate touch and while he's hesitant at first he quickly grows comfortable with giving you hugs and other displays of affection. His favorite thing to do after a long day is to kiss your forehead and hold you in his arms where you can both just sway and feel each other's presence. He also becomes a big cuddler as Odalia never indulged him in such things.
He likes to slow dance with you. On the quiet nights when everyone is asleep and has gone home he'll turn on his radio at his work bench and take your hand. He's a romantic at heart and while he couldn't show that side of himself to Odalia he can openly flaunt it with you. His romantic tendencies are often soft quiet gestures but they mean the world to you and he knows it.
After a long day of work and stress you get in the habit of gently taking Aladors very calloused hands into your own and massaging them. Giving him a soft kiss on each knuckle and wiping away any left over abomination goop or oil stains. His hands are very sensitive but also numb from his constant back breaking work so feeling your consistent yet gentle touch as you massage his hands to give him feeling back is heavenly. And when you begin to clean them for him he just melts. Be prepared he will pay this affection back ten fold in some way.
