You could hear the strum of the guitar from outside, it was out of tune and formed wrong.

“Oh God” you mumbled under your breath, before walking into the the house.

“Y/N SAVE ME!” Trevor yelled at you as you walked in.

“What happened?”

“The guitar.” Was all Trevor said. You giggled walking towards your boyfriends room, where the horrid strumming was coming from.

“Hey Jam”

“Y/n/n!” He finally put down the guitar to open his arms for you to jump into. And you did dragging him back onto his bed.

“I think Trevor wants to kill your guitar” you warned Jamie, he just laughed.

“Oh I know, he’s tried.”

“Wait he’s tried?”

“Oh yeah, once time I came back home and he was on the roof with it, said he tried throwing it off but he couldn’t. Felt too bad.”

You laughed. Trevor had genuinely tried.

“Okay c’mere baby.” You said sliding off him and sitting on his bed. He followed sitting beside you. You grabbed his guitar.

“Follow what I do, okay?”

“Okay.” You could tell he was eggar, he knew you could play but you had never played for him.

You put your hand into the chord of G. You turned to show him how your hand was set, then strumming the chord. It sounded so good to Jamie, he knew he’d be playing it wrong before.

“Okay,” you handed the guitar to Jamie, “you saw that, now you try.”

He put his hands where he remembered you did, you corrected him a bit but for the most part he was correct, and strummed.

“OH MY GOD I DID IT!” Enthusiasm was radiating off him.

“SHOW ME ANOTHER PLEASE” So you obliged. You showed him simple chords and helped him memorize the hand placements.

You and Jamie were in his room for almost three hours, you could tell he was passionate about his and decided to learning it, so you helped him. By the time you had deemed it was more then enough guitar for the day he had learned G, D, C, and E chords.

“Baby we have to go show Trevor!”

“Okay Jams, let’s go” he was like a excited puppy, he grabbed his guitar and your hand, pulling you both out to Trevor room.

“What the fuck?” Was the first thing Trevor said when Jamie ran in, pulling you behind him.

“Listen, listen!”

“Oh no” you heard Trevor mumble, a small laugh leaving your lips.

Jamie sat on Trevor’s bed, pulling his guitar where he needed it and placing his hand in the right position. He played through all the chords you taught him, Trevor had a presently surprised look on his face. You smiled looking at Jamie, he was so focused, it was adorable to you.

“That was actually good” Trevor said when Jamie stopped, shock lacing his tone.

“Thank you” Jamie beamed. “We’re going now, it’s time for cuddles.” Jamie ended, grabbing you and his guitar again and returning to his room.

You laughed as he threw you on his bed, following shortly after putting the guitar away. He basically fell on top of you, quickly he nuzzled into you.

A content sigh left his lips at the warmth from your bodies. His eyes shut as you ran your hand threw his hair.

“Baby if you keep doing that I’m going to fall asleep.” Jamie mumbled against your chest.

“Good, you need some sleep. We’ve been playing for over three hours.”

And he did, he fell asleep not even ten minutes later, you following in suite.

You’ve never been one to go for bad boys.

Your last boyfriend worked in record keeping for the Senate. Before that, a guy who spent his days doing data entry. 

So it surprises you when you’re inexplicably drawn to the man standing in front of you. 

His hair is white. No…silvery grey. Perfectly done in a way that costs hours in a salon chair and too many credits. It’s been cropped close to his head, the style that so many soldiers go with, but you can see some ends curling up on the nape of his neck. You wonder if it would all curl up if it were longer.

He’s tall, but not too tall, and lean. Strong shoulders, shoulders that carry and fire a weapon. On closer inspection, it’s obvious he’s a clone. Deep brown eyes, a strong handsome nose. Over one of those gorgeous eyes is a tattoo; thin lines in the form of a gun sight. 

You ask him his name.

“Crosshair.”

You can’t help the snort that you let out. 

“Isn’t that a little on the nose?” You pointedly look at the tattoo on his face, and he just shrugs. 

“That’s it, isn’t it? I’m always right to the point.”  He flicks the toothpick in his mouth across to the other side for good measure, and you spot a sharp canine gleaming in the bar lights. 

He is bad news. Sure, he’s a soldier fighting for the Republic, so he’s on the right side of things. But everything about him screams bad choices; the glint in his eye, the cock of his hip as he leans against the bar, choosing to lurk over you instead of sit. 

You feel like a moth to the flame, entranced in this man who sauntered over to you like he owned the place, bumping someone out of the way so he could talk to you. 

“Then Crosshair-“ you lean into his space, pleased when his lip ticks up ever so slightly. It’s not a smile, but a smirk. “-what’s the point you’re trying to make right now?”

He leans one elbow on the bar, doing nothing to hide the way he looks you up and down. 

“Point I want to make, is that we should get out of here.” He nods towards the door. Cocky.

“What, you aren’t gonna buy me a drink first?”

Crosshair hums thoughtfully, plucking his toothpick out of his mouth and flicking it onto the dirty bar floor. “In my opinion, that just delays the inevitable.”

The nerve of this man, saying things at you with that voice like some sort of slithering snake….it shouldn’t be so damn attractive.

You like his brashness, but you can’t show your hand.

You cross your arms over your chest, pouting. 

“And what’s the inevitable? That I’m going to sleep with you?”

He smirks, pleased that you finally hit the nail on the head. “Only if you want to.” You almost roll your eyes. Such a gentleman. 

You sigh, giving your shoulders a small shrug.

“If I’m honest, you look like bad news Crosshair.” 

He laughs at that. All it is is a huff of air that comes briskly from his mouth, but you can still tell he’s amused.

The distance between you two is short; you on your bar seat and him standing tall next to you, a forearms length away. It takes him half a step to be in your personal space, and only a slight swing of his arm to have it on the back of your chair. You have to crane your neck to keep eye contact, and when his eyes flick down to your lips, you move in the extra inch. 

Crosshair kisses you, and it is not short and it is not sweet. He hums against your mouth, and it only takes a small nip of his teeth for you to open up to him, to allow his breath to be shared with yours. He kisses well, and he kisses in a way that makes your hands feel fuzzy as they rest on your lap. He is warm and slick and his mouth tastes like the cheap beer at 79’s, and it all makes your heart pound.

When he pulls back and you go following him in search of more kisses, he gently puts a hand on your shoulder to keep you in place. Shit. He’s got you; hook, line, and sinker. 

You’re following him out of the bar not a moment later. You realise that he hasn’t even asked you your name. 

You can’t find it in yourself to care.

me since i was literally 15 and disenchantment came out: i love the main three so much! they’ve really enforced how they’re a team and need each other. it’s so nice to see a group of platonic main characters who deeply love and care about each other so much, to the fact they’ve risked death, some of them actually dying, to stay together.

no bc honestly i’m very devastated that they all split up. i mean luci died and bean was just kinda like oh no,, anyways. they NEVER TALK ABT HIM AGAIN!!! MY MANS!!!!!! MY MAIN TALKING KITTY CAT!!!!!!!!!!! and i’m so so so happy that bean and mora got together, theyre so cute and i love them and i think it was a very good choice to let bean leave dreamland after it caused her so much pain and suffering and turmoil her entire life

A Headcanon that WILL NOT leave me alone

Kagami and Himuro are some of the best hip hop dancers you’ll see.

Basketball wasn’t the only things these two picked up in America. They also took a couple of hip hop dance classes

The idea spurred from their mentor Alex. She had to go out of town for a few weeks and ofc her little students were upset that she’d be gone. She knew they’d keep practicing even though she wouldn’t be there, but she told them this could be a good time to explore other interests as well.

This comment would in turn make her disciples (mainly Kagami) panic slightly because they thought this was her way of gently telling them she didn’t want to be around them anymore (sensitive sweet little things)

After clearing up the confusion (and Alex promising over and over she wasn’t abandoning them) she just told them that they should try some other ways to entertain themselves besides basketball. She told them a big reason for this idea was due to the future weather forecasts which pretty much stated that there’ll be nonstop rain in LA the next few days.

After hearing this, the boys agreed that it would be good for them to find a nice indoor activity to fill their time.

While walking the boys home from their last session together for a while, she spotted a flyer that promoted hip hop dance lessons at the local community center and told the boys to give it a shot.

Kagami was a bit skeptical, but Himuro was a little more willing. In the end they both decided to try it out.

And oh boy did they take off with flying colors. By the time Alex returns from her trip, the two could proudly boast to her that their instructor had called them “some of the best dancers in the class”. The two were quick learners and picked up the dance moves with little to no trouble. Himuro credits it to playing street ball claiming that it helped them analyze and learn new moves faster. Alex wasn’t sure how sound the science was on that but she went along with it nonetheless.

And now they have something that they can teach her - her disciples now have a chance to be the mentors and theyre so thrilled about it.

Fast forward years later, and I can just picture all the miracle gen having a meetup (similar to that basektball game meetup all the schools had ^ ) someone brings up American hip hop, and Kagami and Himuro are just like-

And they just blow everyone away with an amazing hip hop performance

Sophie and Aaron had been cast as the lead roles in Moulin Rouge on Broadway, but from the start, they couldn't stand each other. They argued over everything, from their lines to their dance moves. Their bickering was notorious among the cast and crew, and it was a miracle they managed to get through rehearsals without killing each other.

Sophie and Aaron were practicing a particularly passionate tango, and as they moved across the stage, their bodies pressed close together. Sophie could feel Aaron's breath on her neck, and she could sense the heat radiating off his body. Suddenly, she realized that the line between love and hate was very thin indeed.

Thats when this happened:

The show started off at a good rate. Things were running smoothly, dancers were feeling fine, actors/ actresses were feeling fine. So why did Sophie have this feeling today wasnt going to be good?

She shrugged it off and got ready to go on for “The Sparkling diamond”.

The director wanted a small costume switch up so Sophie was given this new dress for tonight. It looked gorgeous on her. It was definitely going to draw attention. As she finished up her first song of the day she could feel a particular pair of eyes scouring her figure.

Aaron.

He was in awe of the dress. He loved it. Maybe a bit too much. It’s hugged her perfectly. It was more a corseted dress but still.

Ricky noticed Aaron face. He looked at him with his eyebrow slightly cocked trying not to break character, he was still on stage where the crowd could see him so.

Sophie looked over at where Aaron was sat. Confused about why he was staring at her so intensely. Fuck… did she have something on her face? Someone would have told her right? He was smiling a bit maybe he put something onto her chair or something before she came out. Oh fuck fuck fuck.

When the song ended she went over to Danny and asked if there was any marks on her face or her dress.

“Danny, there’s nothing on my face or my dress is there?”

Danny looked her up and down.

“Spin around real quick”

She spun around.

“Nope your good. Why?”, Danny said.

“Aaron was looking at me intensely it seemed like he did something to sabotage my performance”, she said with a sigh.

Danny laughed as he got ready for his line.

“My dear satine! The duke! He’s here and he wants a private meeting with you!” Danny said switching from himself to Zidler in a heartbeat.

We finished our scene and I went backstage for a quick change. As I got ready for my next scene I locked eyes with Aaron. We were just after doing a kissing scene, usually this is brushed off but today it was different. It had more feeling. I slightly smiled at him and he started walking over to me. Neither of us had to be on for nearly 10 minutes so we had time to relax. He walked over and stood in front of me.

Next thing I knew we were kissing. It happened out of nowhere but I’m not complaining…

He smiled at me and walked away.

What on Earth just happened.

The show continued on as normal and after I was stopped by Aaron as I walked out.

“Sophie, we need to talk”, I looked up at him.

“Wow you sound serious”, I half joked.

“I don’t hate you, Sophie”, he smiled.

“Oh, oh, oh, Ehm, oh wow”, I said staring at him shocked.

His face dropped.

“I don’t hate you entirely either”, I smiled slightly.

“Entirely?” He asked.

I laughed and after that things changed.

Aaron and I planned a date. And after that we started dating.

i have many thoughts about lad8 still. spoilers under the cut

like. the story is not bad but it gets across really well, i wish they wouldve elaborated/indulged more on bryce and ebina's characters earlier instead of leaving them to the very end but overally i like ebina, him being a victim of the yakuza and outright despising their existence to the point of wanting to take revenge on all organized crime in this way was really good and works really well to help give kiryu closure with how he helped perpetuate the tojo and never actually take any action to improve them in any way. i get wanting ebina to have some kind of confrontation with ichiban but it would 1) be stupid to have a sibling dynamic again two games in a row and 2) theyre the complete opposite of each other to the point where it wouldnt work imo. and then and then speaking of ichiban. oh my god ichiban. hes too good for this world. going as far as stopping the absolute scum that is bryce fairchild from killing himself to make sure he repents for his misdeeds and also kinda following on his "everyone gets out alive" part of his plan *and then* making sure that eiji gets his second chance in life despite his betrayal to ichiban. oughhghhh my GOD it makes me cry. theres like some surface level stuff you can gleam in the game and marketing that places him as a sort of christ figure with the last supper style promotional art and eiji in the place of judas and him carrying eiji to the police station in the credits sorta seeming like the carrying of the cross but i dont know enough biblical stuff to make any concrete conclusion/connections just. ichiban is too good for this world man hes too kind. i love him so much. OH MY GOD AND THEN THERES THE STUFF WITH EIJI PREYING ON ICHIBANS FONDNESS FOR MASATO AND IN THE END GIVING HIM THE CHANCE TO HELP HIM START AGAIN THAT WAS TAKEN FROM HIM BY MASATO'S DEATH. I have never seen so much mishandling as i seen with those three characters 😭😭(like bro i get that the most noticeable arc that ppl retain is the white bone spirit arc bc of OSP BUT THEY DIDNT STUCK TO THAT CHARACTERISTICS IN THE LATER ARCS LIKE CMON NOW—bajie couldn’t even lie about the dragon piss medicine in a later arc, what makes yall think he’s always a fantastic liar. Theres some benefit to his lying but they also backfire. BAJIE DO END UP LIKING EVERYONE LIKE HE REFER TO SWK AS ELDER BROTHER!<- no man could ever live up to the wonder of zhu wuneng. He just sweet n he does get a fantastic arc in the novel!

Tang sanzang does have some(albeit rare moments where hes nice but his asshoole moments sometimes intertwined) where hes like “yea my disciples r greats but theyre mad ugly.” Or that he gets better at having more trust in his disciples besides zhu wuneng. Even if its followed by hella traumatizing moments that no human person would remain sane like that. <hes just barely holding on by his faith, his mission and his disciples. Not his horse bc he cant hold on to save his life but that character arc where he DIDNT FELL OFF THOO!>

Hmmm I know about the Sun Wukong & Tang Sanzang dunking but is that happening with Zhu Bajie too? Have to say I find that a little surprising given that (if memory serves correctly) Monkie Kid did say Zhu Bajie's main fault (well besides the whole being a man-eating yaoguai thing) was being stubborn, but then lego Patriarch Subodhi said he became one of the hardest workers of the pilgrimage. I guess I was under the impression that people were more light on their criticisms and thoughts about Zhu Bajie, but maybe that's just because he doesn't seem to be a point of great interest in the lego show fandom lol.

Kind of funny story anon but I've been vicariously growing in awareness on how much Zhu Bajie is loved in China through @antidotefortheawkward's posts about the pigman. And yeah, I can see that being in large part because Xiyouji in its totality does give a very different impression of who these characters are and where they end up than a cartoony summary can provide. As a number of people on this site have noted for example, the White Bone Demon Arc can be understood in a much more complex light than "Tang Sanzang & Zhu Bajie hurt poor monkey for nothing" when placed in the context of it being more near the beginning of the journey when the pilgrims were still grating against each other a lot & it happening very soon after the whole debacle with the Ginseng fruit tree. Here after all you can see how the monk has a recent history of getting into serious trouble from the monkey lying and being quick to destruction, so he would be primed to not believe SWK, not to mention he does hesitate to use the headband against SWK more than many give him credit for here. And YEAH given all the things they go through together I am more willing to accept a Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie enemies to friends arc than that put on many another character.

Also LMAOOOOO Tang Sanzang DOES seem to have quite a few lines where he tries to comfort terrified individuals by telling them that the pilgrims are good people even with their rancid looks (ugly pilgrim rights <3). And oh dang anon you are so right about how even if Tang Sanzang is much more of a static character in comparison to SWK it's kind of a shame more attention isn't given to the series of horrifying events he goes through and what effect that would have on him so that he gets a little more depth than "weepy monk who's mean to the Monkey King & falls off his dragon horse" in the popular western imagination. But then again I can understand why the monk's trauma is largely downplayed in western cartoony retellings, given that said lighthearted cartoony retellings probably wouldn't be the best medium to even touch on stuff like human butchery, death threats, sexual assault, and the consequences thereof.

so, i kind of wanted to rant a bit, but theres a few things in here i know could get people riled up so honestly im a little nervous sharing this. i also want to preface it by saying that i am NOT hating on any fics i name here, they are just well-known examples and fics that the fandom hold close

as a fic writer myself, i love adding my own little headcanons to characters. sometimes theyre hcs ive seen from someone else and loved, and other times ive thought of them myself. in the latter case, ill often then see that someone else thought of it too, which is really cool!

but then there comes the hcs that people see and think "oh! thats from x fic!" for example, if you bring up dyslexic remus to most marauders fans, theyre gonna talk about atyd. ive never read the fic myself, its not my taste, but ive heard a lot of things about it and it does honestly sound like a great fic so genuinely no hate towards it. but i hc remus as dyslexic and i did so before learning that atyd has dyslexic remus, and any time i consider putting that hc into one of my fics all i can think about is that people will see it and talk about atyd. maybe theyll say i was copying or stole the idea. maybe theyll compare the two and decide the way i depict it isnt as good. maybe ill end up accidentally using a similar or the same thing for remus to have aiding him, for example a spell or something one of his friends do, and ill be told im plagiarising, and i absolutely hate that.

another example is best friends brother. its such a well known fic in the fandom that anyone who writes anything similar is going to be compared to it. or crimson rivers; anyone who writes a hunger games au (even if its not even remotely similar to cr) is going to be told theyre trying to copy. i love both bfb and cr but i wish people could accept that two writers can have the same idea without copying or trying to recreate/steal it

one of my current ongoing fics has the same central trope as another big fic in the fandom (i dont want to reveal which, because i dont want to risk being de-anoned) and i went out of my way to avoid reading the big fandom fic until ive finished writing my own because im so terrified that if theres even a single vague similarity i might get called out and told im copying

i want to say im just being paranoid, but i cant. i hate that the fandom has come to the point where authors have to bring something out that absolutely noone has ever done before ever just so that they dont get told theyve taken the idea from someone else. even if they had, its perfectly normal and fine to be inspired by an idea to make it your own! obviously actual plagiarism is not okay and should be called out, but theres a difference between plagiarism and just having a similar idea or hc

going back to my original point (because this was where my frustrations with this started) i hate that dyslexic remus will always be seen as an atyd thing, when it isnt. again, no hate to the fic or the author, this isnt an attack on them at all, its just unfortunate that the fandom has kind of taken it so much as canon that anything will always be compared to it, if that makes sense?

tldr: let me have dyslexic remus without telling me im copying atyd! let me have him use magic or have his friends do little things to help him without telling me i stole it from atyd!

Yes, I can definitely see what you're saying. I think if something is inspired by another fic (i.e. you read CR and then you're like...oh, I wanna write a Hunger Games AU) it's good to give credit where it's due by saying "inspired by x." But in a fandom with thousands of fics, the same ideas are bound to come up even without having read other fics. If people accuse you of copying and you genuinely haven't, I would just let them yell. People are always going to have negative things to say, you know?
