(ask game) halollie 3 9 18 25 29
3. Who is the most romantic?
Neither of them. Hal. Sometimes. Ollie isn't all that good at romance unless it's about cooking chili. Hal however has a firmer romantic bone in his body that hasn't been broken yet.
9. What is the most embarrassing thing they have done in front of each other?
Hal's is bending over the sink and slurping water from the tap without even using his hand while trying to talk to Ollie while also trying to recharge his ring and failing at all three tasks at the same time.
Ollie's is just. his whole life. But also his lube arrow malfunctioning on him with the worst timing possible.
18. When they fight, how do they make up?
Via having angry sex 🥰
25. Why do they fight?
Why don't they fight? Oliver can be a really judgemental asshole who assumes the worst of others while Hal is often times dodgy with his answers and keeps one too many things to himself. They fight over fucking everything, even over fucking.
29. Why do they fall a little bit more in love?
Is it possible for them to love each other more than what they already do? They are so fucking in love that they can barely understand it, sometimes they really can't. It's as natural as breathing. Maybe that's why sometimes Ollie doesn't really see it. It's second nature to him.

hiya! i am a 25+ year old they/them enby who is very forgetful and lost their last ad, so i am giving it a shot again with some added information. 💚🦇💚🦇💚
i am looking to write characters from the dc comics universe, especially from the green lantern gang or possibly from the batfam. my main interests are writing kyle rayner, hal jordan, jason todd, tim drake or possibly joseph wilson. i can also write bruce, but only if we are doubling. i like omegaverse, soulmate plots and plenty of darker themes, with a focus on trauma recovery and/or codependency. i also love rewriting canon events with a ship bias; if that's your thing, it sure is mine too. medieval aus? cool! fantasy aus? amazing! vampire, sirens or werewolves involved? hell yeah!
ships i am looking for (but feel free to suggest others if they involve any of the characters listed! i can be convinced into real wild stuff—):
green lantern: halkyle, sinhal, kylesin, guyhal, guykyle, johnhal.
batfam: brujay, timdick, timbru.
misc. dc: any flavor of batlantern, royhal, bruollie, olliehal, ANY and i mean ANY flavor of wilsoncest involving joey. possibly joeydick given a good premise.
interested? like this post and i promise this time i WILL reach out / check out the post.
give a like and anon will get back to you

I wanna talk about how underrated is the friendship between Hal and Oliver. Like, damn people, this relationship is so important to understand both characters, specially Hal.
Yeah, people always talk about how beautiful is Barry and Hal's relationship, or Dinah and Ollie's but Hal and Ollie's one is not discussed too much. It's like "yeah, they're friends" but oh boy, the story between these two is pretty complex, fascinating, beautiful and kinda sad.
And I think this is bc Hal and Ollie's relationship is kinda similar to the one Hal has with Carol. Not only by the fact that their relationship is pretty unstable but bc it impacted so much in their lifes. Hal learned to embrace his rebel attitude with Ollie, who was the first person to point out to Hal how wrong the Guardians could be. Not only that but Ollie made Hal to rethink about his role as a GL (all of this Ollie discourse about how they should get more involved in the world problems, and that they had the power to make a difference) and what it meant to him.
And they spent a lot of time together, like A LOT to the point that they lived in the other's department or they were the other's first option to call when having a problem or an idea to do something cool. They shared the dream about changing the world, and they were happy that way. Their dynamic at the beginning was about Hal having his head was "up in space" (disconnected with Earth's life) while Ollie was grounded, so he had to help Hal be more connected to Earth's problems. At the same time, Hal introduced Ollie to his life out of Earth.
But it had its problems. Like I said before, their relationship is pretty unstable. Oliver was so hostile sometimes, even pushing Hal too hard, they discussed a lot bc of their different point of views. Another thing it was that both feel like they couldn't keep up each other's pace. So they felt the need to impress the other and get involved in whatever adventure that appeared. Btw, some day Hal just didn't want Ollie to help him in one of his adventures and Ollie was so pissed off, like he felt Hal was telling him he wasn't good enough and the other thing that made him angry was that he really loved being with his friend, he felt abandoned. And yeah, they had sort of a fight and split up for some time. But, like Hal with Carol, they came together again bc Hal really loved being with Oliver. Even if Oliver was mean to him.
But I think this is the least important of their problems. Ollie isn't the best when it comes to emotional issues. And this is when he failed Hal. Hal needed help and Ollie just was so mean with him, even treat him like a burden. Even around that time Hal was a little bit resented with Dinah bc he felt Ollie replaced him with her. They came together again but Oliver was just a mess.
And then, the destruction of Coast City happened. Hal was on the verge of collapsing. He talked to Ollie but he didn't care a lot. Like, he was actually happy to see him being so hostile, don't thinking that Hal don't behave that way.
Then he became Parallax, did Zero Hour and Ollie tried to stop him by shooting an arrow to his heart. Ollie fell into depression bc he thought he killed his best friend and Hal was so confused about what happen.
They talked again one last time before Ollie's death and oh boy, it was so sad. Hal was so desperate to just being with him. He wanted Ollie to escape with him. Ollie denied, feeling more depressed after that (and that's like the final trigger to him bc when he had the chance of being saved by Clark, he preferred to died, he even said that his life was a mess and all the shit with Hal was too much for him)
And OH BOY, when Parallax!Hal sacrificed to saves Earth, he BRINGS OLLIE BACK TO LIFE bc for him, Ollie represented the best part of his life, he represented his happy days.
One of the things that makes me so upset about the Geoff Johns era is that he kinda erased the importance of this relationship, that was only showed in the Rebirth, Archer's Quest (Green Arrow comics during that time, Hal give him a GL ring), the infamous Cry for Justice and some JLA comics. But the New 52 and the 2016 Rebirth erased all of its importance. Yeah, they are friends now and I think The Green Lantern by Grant Morrison brought back how complex is their relationship (also the road trip is canon again I guess)

oliver/hal or barry/hal?
I actually ship HalOllie/OllieHal. I think they go with the whole 'friends with benefits' thing. Like. Literally.
Green Arrow (2016) Issue #31
"Friends with benefits. I dig it." (Hal)
"You know it isn't easy to maintain a long-distance relationship, and I'm about a hundred million miles farther away than your lady in burnside--" (Hal)
"But we'll figure it out. See you down the trail, Hal." (Oliver)
