- freaking ramona flowers, THE manic pixie dream girl, the cool girl male fantasy being a fully fleshed out complex female character !!!! even though the story is still arguable about the men in her life she isnt defined by them

- knives chau being in sex bob omb oh my god. that is so special to me. she deserved so much better than what she got in the 2010 movie (absolutely no hate to the movie its one of my faves)

- the mix of the retro vibes and modern day. old tech, still has the early internetty feel but using slang from now ? young neil seeing something odd in his room and immediately dubbing it his sleep paralysis demon, crowds calling envy “mommy” and saying “step on my caracass!” was so funny

- SCOTT APOLOGISING TO KNIVES !

also apparently the whole cartoon ended up happening because micheal cera responsed to a nine year old email thread out of no where and it got the whole cast talking again ????? idk how true that is but holy shit thats so funny if its true

It's always been a symbiotic relationship.

Wake up. Enter the castle. Collect stars. Defeat Bowser. Rescue the Princess.

Once you cut out the filler, this is Mario's day job. Every day for the near three decades, this had been Mario's life. Yes, there were hiccups - game overs, frame drops, freezes, crashes - but as long as there was a guiding hand leading him every step of the way, the mighty plumber would never die, as he was too determined and unyielding to the forces that sought to destroy him.

Besides, he could never truly 'die'. Lives were plentiful, Continues were infinite, and as a fictional entity Mario enjoyed a particularly simple existance; living in your head rent free. What was once a conglomerate of polygons and textures has successfully imprinted itself as a living, breathing human in the minds of billions. Not to imply this was bad, of course! Mario's a stand up guy! He fights for justice and equality and all that jazz!

Mario kind of expected the rest of the cast to follow him eventually! Toad, Koopa the Quick, Peach... even some of the foes like King Bob-omb or Bowser. The only person with a hint of awareness over their true situation was Yoshi, on account of his important task of relaying a message from The Creators, but Mario could never get much out of that dinosaur before he'd hop off. It bothered the plumber. Something felt missing.

Every day, Mario would wake up, do his duty, and then... what? Eat a cake? He wasn't getting any fatter - or thinner, before you bring up the exercise. The Princess was always kidnapped the next day, and the game would begin anew. Today was no different! Mario hopped out of the pipe in the Castle Courtyard, walked over the bridge, and the front door's missing.

The front door's missing?

"...Hm?" The plumber approached carefully, tapping the wall where it should be with his blocky fist as if it would 'open sesame'. It did not. Perplexed, Mario found himself hesitant to decide what to do next, which was unusual for him, considering how headstrong he usually was. He stepped back out into the open field and paused, shifting his head left and right as if looking around to gauge interest.

Here is just some bands/music artists I think Neil and Stacey would listen to that I’m going to explain my reasons for thinking this under the cut

Neil- I think he’d be into New Wave and some 80s pop. It’s all cause of the new order shirt. I also put the band Sloan there for the same reason as new order cause he wears one of their shirts. Stacey would get him into David Bowie and The Monkees in my little headcanon. Also obviously Sexbob-omb is there cause he is their #1 fan outside of Knives.

Stacey- She is a 60s music fiend. I like to think that Lawrence introduced some more 60s bands to her after she got into The Beatles. She of course listens to Coldplay cause she is the most normal person in the cast and would in fact have a “basic” taste in music. She also is a big Spice Girls fan. Brining my Bowie fan headcanon here cause she would in fact like early Bowie and you cannot change my mind.

So to put it simply (and with some other commonly established headcanons I’ve seen floating around):

Neil likes New Wave, emo, and alt music that in some cases can be weird, and Stacey likes 60s rock, pop, and more well known alt bands.

Feel free to ask questions if you’re wondering about a certain band or music artist and want to know a more in-depth reason as to why I headcanon either Stacey or Neil liking them. I’ll be happy to answer cause I love talking about music and some of the people or bands in there I listen to myself in my daily life!

since a certain vegan rockstar was still trying to "come to terms" with his sexuality, he'd ask neil about what he should do when he dates a dude

and neil just kinda looked at him with a perplexed expression that screamed "you literally do nothing different from when you date a chick"

most of their dates consist of going to the movies

neil's super used to listening to people practice music, seeing as how sex bob-omb used his and stephen's apartment for practice half the time, so neil doesn't mind going to clash at demonhead practices

he usually just sits there and plays zelda anyways

(establishing autistic!neil as canon in my universe) he rants to todd for hours at a time about his special interests, especially video games because they're like, neil's favorite thing ever

todd likes playing the video games neil recommends but he isn't that good at them so he has to ask how to find and how to do certain things (neil doesn't mind helping him at all)

they're both very spacey and they don't think through making decisions, which has led to some pretty interesting conclusions

"we don't have any food" "all the fast food places are closed" "what if we went scavenging like our ancestors" - a real conversation they had

they neglected to realize there were grocery stores and convenience stores that were still open right aroud the corner

The whole Ian Ousley being pretendian is frustrating but not surprising given how it had happened to another Netflix produced show, On My Block, previously. OMB had initially casted Ronni Hawk, a White actress who claimed that she was Latina and whose family were Trump supporters (fucking irony), to play a Latina character in their first season before writing her off the show come the second season.

So yeah, I do believe that if Avatar gets renewed for a season 2, they'd recast Sokka so long as there's a huge outcry from the fanbase and on social media.

Obviously in my au knives takes gideons spot rather than a different ex of scotts like how other ppl do but i decided to make her the daughter of a rich business man (mr.chau) who is gonna pass the business down to her when shes 20 (in my au knives and scott “date” when she like 16/17 like in the books but a good chunk of the exes bullshit + everything before happens right when she turns 19 and she does like. a few chapters into the book and then at the end of the series around the canon gideon scott fight is when shes 20) ofc this also changes scotts age a bit but. lowk idgaf abt him rn hes like 26 at the start or so now instead of 24. roxie and wallace swap place unfortunately, i dont like wallace but i have to put him somewhere. roxie is a semi popular artist and ramona is a mooch who showed up to her apartment after a bad breakup and just never left but they actually have a nice apartment but theyre still in Canada(she drunkenly got on multiple buses and trains from nyc to Toronto at roxies place and survived dont ask how its that white girl swag).

envy is the 3rd ex and is dating gideon. she has pyromancy psychic powers rather than vegan ones. kim is the first ex still hung up on how scott ditched her in highschool only to find out he was two timing her with lisa. the twins end up. Somewhere. Julie takes one of the twins spots (holly might take the other one. I dont know)

I hate it when ppl age down matthew patel to fit knives’ spot but its also kinda weird because of the whole age difference thing its Odd no shade to anyone who does but it icks me out so im not doing it. Matthew is this guy ramona dates but shes lowk using him for money and cheats on him multiple times (manipulating him to forgive her) before scott is even in the picture.

also in my edit we see she still dyes her hair but she only does highlights and streaks because shes too afraid of commitment in more ways than one.

tbh i need to develop this more but heres the skeleton of my idea also all the exes are friends and often hang out at roxies place but matthew is the last to join them but theyre all friends who dislike ramona lowkey but tolerate her.

All the enemies here are animalistic; no Koopa Troopas, Lakitus, Shy Guys, or anything else that seems to have too much going on behind the eyes. It’s all Chain Chomps, Swoops, Spinies, Buzzy Beetles, Wigglers, etc. (Monty Moles are on thin ice.)

Quake Mountain

Desert + cave/mountain theme— The gimmick here is that you get no fire flowers or other “weaponizable” power-ups, and most of the enemies aren’t damaged by jumping (Thwomps, Bullys, that sort of thing), so you have to just evade them. In some instances, you must lead them off ledges, onto switches and scales, or into pits to be used as a platform. Shortcuts can be found in the secret cave system.

Ice theme— A higher part of the mountain. Very whimsical, the snow is all multicolored and flavorful. There’s probably gimmick levels based around sledding, ice skating and snowball fights.

Sky theme— Super stormy and gale-force, but with rainbow colors whipped up in some of the tornadoes and stuff. A lot of very fast paced and/or unforgiving levels.

Airship/technology theme— A giant, industrial-looking flying city built on a network of interconnected airships. Contains some maze-y and puzzle-y levels, as well as a lot of pipe and conveyor belt travel, some “riding” levels (a la DK mine-carts or NSMB spine coasters) and various Mechakoopas, Bob-Ombs and Bullet Bills.

Smokeshadow Valley

Ghost/darkness + lava/fire theme— Smoke covers the sky, casting what isn’t on fire into darkness. Some smoggy, low-visibility levels, a few encounters with Boos and Bones, as well as fortresses, lava pits… everything you’d expect from the final world.

Boss: Bowser. When you defeat him, the smog clears from the sky and you go save/retrieve/thwart whatever needs saving/retrieving/thwarting. Thanks for playing!
