finished homestuck!! and adding it to my ever growing list of ‘media near-universally labelled as cringe that actually kinda slaps’

#like i won’t lie parts of it? terrible. i can’t even begin to piece together half of the lord english plot #but i think a lot more of it was actually really really good. especially act 4 and act 5 they were my favourite hands down #act 6 not so much. like separately? i loved the alpha kids and the dancestors and the concept of the cherubs was really interesting #but somewhere the execution fell short. it’s gonna annoy me cause i can’t figure out why #i think it might be the retcon. which i didn’t hate as an idea!! but it occurred closer to the end than i thought it would #i feel like if they’d explored the impact of the retcon more it might have flowed better?? idk #idk. act six as a whole i’m split on. i either loved what it did or was massively confused and exasperated by what it did #it’s like half of the comic and i got through it in about a week when it took me like a month to do acts 1-5 #and it doesn’t feel like that much happened it’s weird #but yknow. it is the act that sold me on vriska!! like i liked her before but i really liked her ghosting it up in this act #the bit where ghost vriska and ghost terezi found each other nearly had me in tears #vrisrezi as a whole. what a concept. easily one of the best dynamics in the entire thing #i really hope terezi finds vriska post-canon. however i’m not sure if i want to read the epilogues and homestuck 2 or not yet #ooh ooh also!! john fulfilling his quest slapped!! that’s probably one of my favourite bits in homestuck ngl #and omg. did not see davekat coming i won’t lie but i was v happy about it #k ill stop now bc i will end up listing half the characters and my favourite bits about them. and as fun as that would be #i really need to sleep haha #homestuck

Concept because wake up brain is awesome:

Punz sitting on the couch rambling to Dream about how he's missing his older siblings. Dream immediately goes into big brother mode and just holds him for a bit, cradling him, rubbing his legs, playing with his hair, humming a random tune, until he feels him relax and cuddle into him a bit. Dream then remembers that both of Punz's siblings are older than him, cue tight squeezes, exaggerated baby talk, little baby teases. Dream accidentally nuzzles into his neck which pulls a yelp out of his playful giggles. Now Dream has Punz half laying in his lap, his shoulders scrunched, his head in his chest as Dream pressed exaggerated kisses all over his neck, ears, and face, while lightly skittering up and down his back, ribs, and sides, and tracing little cutesy things on his knees, like hearts and smiley faces, occasionally adding little squeezes to his knees, thighs, and calves to watch him jump. Even exploring his, as Punz put it, "unreasonably ticklish" shins, and the tops of his feet. He left the bottoms alone for now, not wanting to entirely wreck him but enough to give him that older sibling feeling he was missing

oh!! my!!! gosh!!!!!!! big brother dream younger sibling punz 🥺

and dream is so caring too, and punz is such a little brat (so is dream to be fair but), and they are the cutest lil frens and I just know dream would be so kind to him (but kind in the not-so-kind big brother way, you know?)

punz would be speaking fondly of his siblings, just kind of rambling to dream about old stories, going back and forth with dream speaking of his as well, and dream notices that punz gets a little more quieter. a little more distant than he just was. he can see that punz seems to be deeper in thought than he should be just sharing random childhood memories

punz goes silent suddenly and dream can see his jaw clench and he sees the slight tears in his eyes and he immediately acts, pulling punz into the biggest cuddliest hug ever while rubbing up and down his back. he doesn't even think about doing it, it's the brotherly instincts that kick in and force him into action. punz is clinging on and hugging him back, taking deep breaths while dream tells him how it's okay to miss his siblings, it'll be okay, he can see them whenever he'd like

dream says something in a baby voice, the same voice he used on his younger siblings when they were growing up, and punz begins to giggle into dreams shoulder at the ridiculousness of it all. dream reaches up to ruffle at punz's hair, turning his head to make a comment but pulls back in surprise after punz squeals and flings his head away from dreams shoulders. punz is bright red and dream doesnt figure out what it is until he sees the other rubbing at the side of his neck, realizing his stubble must've tkled him

queue dream dragging punz into his lap, kissing all over his neck, his cheeks, even bringing punz's palms up to do over exaggerated kisses on those, making sure to rub the stubble along them to get punz giggling harder. he uses his free hand, the one that's not wrapped around punz, to squeeze his thighs and moves to trace lil shapes into his knees, making punz guess after each one

as soon as he gets one wrong (which he didn't, dream is just a menace) dream spiders his fingers down his shins, which has punz howling and screaming like dream was actually killing him. dream spends a lot of time there, until punz once again is teary eyed, before moving down and gently skittering his nails on the tops of punz feet

when dream goes to tk the arches of punz's feet, punz immediately begins squirming and thrashing harder than before until he finds himself rolling off the couch and onto the floor, continuing to roll away quickly until he smacks into the other end of the couch

dream and punz are cracking up, both of them hysterical at the whole situation. they eventually settle down and punz makes his way back over to dream, cuddling into him and thanking him for the much needed playful distraction 🥺
