For Star Wars folks, there doesn't seem to be an indie version of wookieepedia, but this extension can also send your request through Breezewiki, which cleans up the ads and other garbage on fandom.com
From the link above:
On an internet dominated by ads and corporate-run websites, Indie Wiki Buddy is a browser extension that helps you easily find and support independent wikis. When you visit a wiki on Fandom or Fextralife, this extension will notify or automatically redirect you to quality independent wikis when they're available. Search results in Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Yahoo, Brave, Ecosia, and Startpage can also be filtered, guiding you to visit an independent counterpart instead. Indie Wiki Buddy supports over 100 independent wikis across 7 languages. And you're in full control -- you can choose your experience wiki-by-wiki! Indie Wiki Buddy also supports BreezeWiki, a service that renders Fandom wikis without ads or bloat. Once enabled, BreezeWiki provides a more enjoyable reading experience when an independent wiki isn't available!

Something very weird is happening to Opera GX and it's so bad it's preventing me from making a bug report about it
Every time I open something that isn't somewhere in the settings(tumblr, youtube, reddit, ect.) It gets stuck in this endless loop of reload hell where it'll load for a split second and then reload and reload and reload and I can't do anything

ok so i use opera on mobile, i have force dark mode on and i have a question — whenever my pfp is shrunken to be an element (ex. for being next to a comment i post), why does it also invert? i get that it does this for black images to make sure that website logos arent invisible & shit, but why does it happen to my pfps too? it genuinely throws me off so much whenever im commenting something on rym or annotating my songs on genius & my avatar is suddenly purely white.

Ok, so I found ONE epilepsy seizure protecting web extension that works (as long as you don't use Enhancer for YouTube). It's called: Seizafe - Epilepsy Alert for YouTube™. It has three levels of protection while watching YouTube and stops the video with a warning before a potentially triggering scene. I use the lowest setting personally, and that works for me. I didn't realize until now just how hostile all of media is to those with epilepsy. A warning will show up a lot even with the lowest setting, for good reason! Sadly, it only works on YouTube. It only monitors YouTube videos and nothing else, but it's something and I highly recommend it. It's only in the Chrome Web Store (but, if you use any Chromium based browser you can access it) though which sucks, but I can live with Opera, I guess. Seriously though, if you have epilepsy, TRY IT.

hey do you know anything about opera? i know their new browser has a pretty robust adblocker built in, but idk if it's based on chromium. If it is, would their adblocker still work once google moves to manifest v3, since it's built in?
I don't expect the adblocker to stop working, since the Opera developers are pretty good at maintenance, but it will probably make the tradeoff for a lower preformance.
I don't know for sure. If I were you I would procrastinate moving to firefox until the adblock stops working. if I were you and I wasn't a lazy mf I'd probably switch right now, but it depends on what you value as a surfer of the web:
I value preformance, privacy and customizability over ease of use, free vpn, and sheer number of features it has by default, so I'll keep using firefox. If you do not, I think Opera is a better choice for you.
Consider reading through both their articles comparing the browsers to make a more informed decision. (yes, both, don't just read one)
if you have any other questions, feel free to ask/message me, or Mozilla/Opera support

from opera to firefox
ok so. i've switched back from opera gx, which i've used for years, to firefox, which i'd used for even longer.
i fucking miss workspaces. like, opera's workspaces. and, in trying to find a replacement extension in firefox, the main two aren't what i want (they close tabs, which is helpful for overall browser speed but is unhelpful if i want to watch youtube on one workspace and then switch to another for like, a game wiki or something.);
doessssss anyone have a suggestion of what to use/how to find it?
tldr; i'm a silly cat that misses its lil tab group method

This is a new project that I've been working on, and it was supposed to be uploaded almost a year ago. Since the Browsers Challenge, I tried to adopt not only my character Edge but also, @tepesart (at Instagram) Opera character into my style to make a comic with them! I'll be posting another part to this that I drew a LONG time ago but never posted it, with Firefox from @axel_the_neon_demon(Instagram acc) and Chrome from @lopes_art11(Instagram acc). Stay tuned!
.
(btw, I'm still getting used to tumble so yeah sorry about that too ;v;)
