Chapter title: the pulse through the night/that sets my heart alight

Rating: T
Summary: A series of one-shots focusing on different characters from the truly amazing fic Buy One [S]et One Free. (Please read it before reading this, it’ll be worth it, I promise!!) Some will be set before the story, while others will take place throughout it! Everything here belongs to EeveeningNews, I’m just messing around in an attempt to express my love for this fic in the only way I know how.
The room was quiet, as it tended to be on a Thursday afternoon. The only noise at all came from the light clicks and taps on Getty’s keyboard, as he answered email after email in an effort to get his inbox cleared out before he clocked out for the day.
Tonight was special, after all, and he could not afford to work overtime.
At the exact second the clock changed to five-thirty, Getty sent his last email, and shut his computer down with shaking hands. His still form suddenly overflowed with energy as he practically leapt from his seat.
The rose-colored Addison darted over to his closet, replaying his memory of the conversation with Cache that had started all of this in the first place…
“Listen, cuz.” they’d said, before mentioning you by name. “I know how you are about asking her out…and let’s be real, I know you, period. So guess what? I’m feeling generous for once, I’ll ask her for you.”
Getty felt his heart begin to beat twice as fast. “Oh—oh goodness, Cache, y-you don’t need to do something like that for me! I’m perfectly content, I promise!”
“Uh-huh.” they hummed, clearly unconvinced. “So that’s why you didn’t spend the better part of our hangout gushing about her just the other day, right?”
“I—surely it wasn’t that long!” he protested, but he couldn’t quite meet Cache’s eyes.
“And that’s not even mentioning all the other times you’ve gone on about her, either.” they continued mercilessly. “What about that one lunch where we were supposed to catch up on everything and it turned into an hour-fucking-long presentation on the specific color of her eyes?”
“Now that is just blatant exaggeration.” Getty sniffed, folding his arms. “That degree of ill-mannered behavior suits you better than me, I would think.”
“So what I’m hearing is that you don’t want to go out with her, then?” Cache shot back, the corner of their mouth twitching as they restrained a smirk.
“N-no!” he cried. “I do, I just don’t want to put her in an uncomfortable situation where—you know, she might have to refuse, or she might not refuse but solely out of a sense of obligation…” He winced at the mere thought.
“And that’s exactly why I’ll be the one to ask her! She knows I ain’t the type to hide behind pretty words or some shit like that. I’ll know if she’s not being honest, too, so I can get you a straight answer. Alright?” they said, in a tone which very much suggested that they would do so even if it wasn’t alright.
“I couldn’t stop you if I tried, could I?” Getty asked, struggling to ignore the way he suddenly felt ill with nerves.
“Nope.” Cache said simply, finally allowing themselves that smirk from earlier.
Two days later, Getty had received a single text from his cousin.
She’s in.
…Getty beamed, scanning the contents of his closet for something appropriate to wear. The elation, the sheer delight he had felt upon reading those two words simply could not be described. He was finally going to properly spend time with you! Tonight!
A thread of fear blended into his joy at that particular thought. He had to make sure that everything was as perfect as it could possibly be. And that started with his outfit.
He selected some of his bolder items of clothing, hoping that his appearance would bolster his mood as it had many times before. A pastel yellow blazer completed the look, and he stepped in front of the mirror to double-check his choices, before taking out his phone and opening up a fun new gacha game to soothe his nerves until it was time to leave.
Ten minutes later, he was back in front of the closet, panicking. What if you expected something a little more formal? The reservation was for La Barre D’espace, after all. Rifling through the hangers, he pulled out a much more formal black-and-white ensemble, trying that on instead.
He eyed himself in the mirror, cringing at how stiff and washed-out it made him look. Perhaps…something a little more relaxed? But not too relaxed, that was why he’d picked out this second outfit in the first place!
Getty sighed, sitting down on his bed. After a moment, he eased himself into lying on his back, and then closed his eyes. “I’m being terribly silly, aren’t I?” he said out loud to the empty room.
Nobody replied (for which he was rather thankful, he would have been quite frightened if anyone had), but he suspected if Cache had been there, their response would be something rather like No duh, dingus. I wouldn’t set you up on a date with some jerk, so why’re you acting like she’s gonna tear you apart the second she lays eyes on you?
…they would probably swear more than that, but he wasn’t quite willing to simulate that particular trait of theirs at the moment.
Getty ran a hand through his hair, getting up from the bed once more to return to his closet and properly pick out an outfit. To be fair, the one he wore wasn’t terrible, it was just so…bland. He needed at least a pop of color, or else it wouldn’t be true to him, now would it?
Hmm.
Well, if he was trying to build an outfit that was true to him, he might as well use his own color, mightn’t he?
Slowly, he pulled off the black jacket he’d been wearing and replaced it with his favorite magenta vest. And this time, when he turned around to face the mirror, he finally felt ready to leave his room and head over to the restaurant.
When he picked up his phone, he saw that it was over an hour too early for him to leave on a normal night, although to be fair, this was not by any means a normal night. After all, what if traffic was bad (a surprisingly common occurrence in Cyber City)? Or what if you arrived early and were left there, all alone, waiting for him to show up? What a terrible first impression that would be!
Resolved, Getty set out immediately, walking his oft-traveled path through the halls of Queen’s mansion and giving any vases he saw an extra wide berth. He definitely wasn’t about to let something like that ruin this night.
As a matter of fact, if his hopes came true, nothing would.
When he stepped out into the lobby, luckily enough, there was already a blue-tinted Swatchling by the name of Cobalt lingering by the door of the Color Café, seemingly without a job to do. Getty approached him somewhat hesitantly, smiling. “Pardon me…I don’t mean to interrupt, but are you busy at the moment?”
Cobalt turned to him, his expression registering surprise for only the briefest of seconds before he relaxed back into a more work-appropriate, unruffled demeanor. “Ah, Master Target. I am unoccupied at the moment—is there anything with which I may assist you?”
“Well, yes, actually!” Getty beamed. “I have a, erm—” his voice dropped momentarily as a light blush spread across his face— “A date, tonight. At La Barre D’espace. And since it’s rather far away, I was wondering if you might be available to chauffeur me there? Only if it wouldn’t be too much trouble, of course!” he added hastily.
Cobalt offered up the smallest of smiles at that. “Sir, it is my primary duty to assist the residents of Queen’s mansion with whatever they may possibly need. I am perfectly capable of driving you to La Barre D’espace. When would you like to depart?”
“Now would be lovely, if that’s alright.”
“Of course.” The Swatchling bowed briefly. “Merely permit me to inform Head Butler Swatch of my intended whereabouts, and then we may leave at once.”
“Oh, absolutely!” Getty replied, waiting politely just outside the café until Cobalt was ready.
Soon enough, the two entered a limousine, and they were on their way to the restaurant. Despite the fact that he was facing the window, Getty was so lost in his own thoughts that he hardly even noticed the city go by. Would you like the food? Had you ever been to a restaurant like this before? Would you like him now that he was more than just another paying customer? He’d never really spoken to you beyond requesting a meal back when you worked at that diner. What if—
He shook his head abruptly. There was no use working himself up so long before you would arrive. He wanted to be a good host and date, not a flustered mess!
Yet still, he struggled to keep his mind on lighter subjects, continuously circling back to the same few topics over and over again.
Halfway through the ride, however, Cobalt interrupted him in his pondering. “If you’ll pardon my curiosity, sir, who happens to be the lucky person invited on this date?”
Getty blushed once again at the implication that you were lucky to be invited to spend time with him—if anything, he felt that the reverse was true. After a moment, he found his voice once again. “She’s a Lightner, actually. Her name is—” He smiled as he said your name, remembering the very first time you had introduced yourself to him. Even back then, when he had only just been hit with the true extent of his own feelings, he had found himself particularly struck by your friendliness and warmth in spite of the difficult job you worked. It was truly stunning. “She is one of the most wonderful people I’ve ever had the opportunity to meet, and funnily enough, she’s actually quite close friends with my cousin!”
“Your cousin? I would say I find myself surprised, Master Target, but since they seem to enjoy your company so much, I suppose it only makes sense that they would choose to spend time with others who are equally suited to you.” the Swatchling mused.
Getty chuckled softly. “You make a very good point, Cobalt.” he replied.
“Well, if she is half the person that I know you are, then I am certain you two will have nothing to worry about.” Cobalt added, making Getty smile bashfully.
“Oh, thank you! You’re far too kind.” the rose-colored Addison insisted gently.
“I would protest that statement, but I am afraid that shall have to wait until later. We have arrived at La Barre D’espace now, sir.”
Getty jolted slightly, surprised. “Already? Oh my! Thank you very much, Cobalt. Will you be available after we have finished as well?”
“Certainly. I shall be right here until you are ready to leave.”
“Thank you again!” Getty said, stepping out of the car once Cobalt opened the door for him.
“I sincerely hope that you enjoy your date, sir.” Cobalt said, offering him another hint of a smile before stepping back into the car.
“I hope so as well.” Getty murmured to himself, taking a deep breath as he approached the building.
He made his way inside and over to the elevator, stepping inside and pressing the button for the top floor. The car stopped a few times during its ascent, and each time Getty held the door for those who were entering and exiting, earning him several smiles and as many “Thank you”s in the process. However, not a single person seemed to recognize him, for which he found himself grateful. He wasn’t entirely sure that he would have been able to manage the nerves stemming from his relatively new wealth and his date-nervousness all at once, at least not without failing to maintain his usual calm demeanor.
Mustering up what remained of his courage, Getty walked up to Cardinal, the Swatchling working at the host stand for this evening. “Hello there, Cardinal!” he said warmly. “I believe my reservation is under a different name than usual for tonight. My cousin, Cache, is the one who organized this particular dinner.”
“Ah, I see. Yes, Mx. Cache is indeed the one listed here. Thank you very much for informing me, Mr. Target.” Getty cringed internally upon realizing that he would probably be referred to as such in front of you. He had never had the chance to explain his nickname properly when you worked at the diner, so now he just had to hope that he could correct any misconceptions you had about his preferred name before one of the Swatchlings irrevocably gave you the wrong idea.
Cardinal informed him which table he and you would be sitting at, and he made his way back through the restaurant, having been here more than enough times to find his own way to any table at all. He smiled, taking a seat at this particular one, which was one of the nicest in the entire restaurant. It featured a lovely view of Cyber City, one that he sincerely hoped you would enjoy.
Before he could begin to even consider worrying once more, Saffron approached him with a couple of menus tucked under one wing. “Good evening, Mr. Target. I hear you are waiting on someone in particular?”
“Yes, Saffron! I’m afraid I’ve arrived dreadfully early, so she won’t be here for quite some time. Could I just have my usual drink for now, while I wait for her?” Getty asked politely.
“Of course, sir. I shall have it brought out to you shortly.” Saffron bowed lightly, before leaving the Addison alone again.
Getty spent a few minutes people-watching in an effort to amuse himself, trying to see how many repeat customers he could spot in the restaurant tonight. He definitely recognized many of the Addisons there, as well as a few Plugboys and one or two Werewires. It took him several more minutes to recall all of their names (as well as their most recent purchases), by which point his drink had arrived.
After thanking the Swatchling who had brought his glass, Getty took a small sip, feeling his shoulders relax slightly at the familiar flavor. Soon enough, however, he found himself lost in another memory—this time of the first moment he’d ever seen you.
The Color Café was even busier than usual that day, and his second choice of restaurant was closed as well because the chef had come down with a virus. Honestly, at this point, he’d be content with just about anything, so long as it was food and he could get it in something approximating a timely manner.
Suddenly, Getty spotted one diner that was normally too busy for him to even consider, but seemed to be having a slow day today. Feeling slightly apprehensive (but mostly just desperate) he pushed open the door and stepped inside, putting on his usual salesman’s smile.
At first, he didn’t notice any workers, only a few sparse patrons at various tables. Just as he was about to feel truly concerned, though, a voice spoke up from the back of the diner.
“Good morning! How are you today?”
And Getty nearly bluescreened at the sight.
He knew that he was a bit of a hopeless romantic (or perhaps more than a bit, really), but somehow, he’d never had all that many romantic moments happen to him…until now. The Lightner working at the diner—and how was a Lightner working at a diner??—was by far the most gorgeous person he had ever seen.
Time stopped. His heart pounded. Your sweet, warm smile lit up the room, and he nearly melted at the sight.
Suddenly, he remembered that you’d asked him a question. “O-oh! Perfect, thank you, absolutely wonderful!” he managed to stammer, feeling as though his legs might give out at any moment.
“I’m Getty, by the way.” he added shyly. “He/him, if you please.”
“Oh! It’s so nice to meet you!” you said brightly. “I’m—well, it says it right here on my name tag, doesn’t it?” You laughed briefly at that, before continuing onwards. “Um, she/her works just fine for me.”
You opened your mouth, about to say something else, when a voice rang out from the back of the diner. “Oi! Lightner! You’d better not be slacking off out there!”
You jumped, the brightness disappearing from your face instantly. Getty silently mourned the sight. “S-sorry!” you called, before turning back to him and flashing him a shadow of the smile you’d worn before. “Feel free to pick whatever seat you’d like, I’ll be over as soon as I can to take your order!” You snatched up a menu and handed it to him, before dashing off to speak with whoever had just yelled at you.
Getty sat down at a booth by the window, frowning in concern. At any other point in time, he would have noticed that the diner wasn’t quite as tidy nor as beautiful as the places he normally preferred to frequent, but right now, he was consumed with worry for the lovely person he’d just met.
Were you being mistreated here? Or was this just a bad day? And were you really the only server in the entire place? If so, then he couldn’t imagine the kind of stress you must be under, and he settled in to wait for you to be finished with the other patrons.
You took rather longer to return than Getty would have liked, but your profuse apologies more than banished any hints of frustration he might have felt. Admittedly, the food was…also less than stellar, but the way you smiled every time he showed you even the smallest scrap of kindness made his heart flutter and ache simultaneously.
Before he had even paid the bill, he knew he’d be returning here tomorrow.
Getty blinked, rousing himself from his reminiscing and looking briefly around the room. The same people were mostly there, but Cardinal was currently showing someone new to their seat. He glanced back out the window, not wanting to stare as they walked through the restaurant—
Wait.
It was you.
Getty nearly gave himself whiplash with how quickly he looked back over in your direction. You looked utterly stunning, clearly having both dressed up very nicely and done your hair specially for the occasion. It felt like that first day at the diner all over again, except so much better, because now there was no rude manager, no difficult work, and no poor quality food.
Just you…and him.
Getty jumped up out of his seat, his eyes meeting yours as he prepared to speak, and he felt his heart pound.
Goodness, he hoped he was ready for this.

Tumblr media
Flamingo pink, sunrise boulevard
Clink clink, being this young is art
You and Dr. Montgomery had just left work together. The two of you were on-call the night before, and got off in the afternoon. She had been wearing her flamingo pink scrubs that night, looking beautiful as ever. Her hair was less curled than usual, fairly straight, with a slight inward curl at the end–how you liked it the most.
You’d gotten an Uber right after work, and took it downtown, where the two of you walked up and down streets (popping into stores occasionally), until dinner. You stopped in a small local place, which turned out to be much better than expected.
“We’ve got to come back here,” Dr. Montgomery said.
“Absolutely, Dr. Montgomery,” you replied, a smile on your face.
“It’s Addison, to you. Surely, we’re on a first-name basis at this point.”
“Cheers, Addison,” you clink your glasses. “To this amazing dinner.”
Aquamarine, moonlit swimming pool
What if all I need is you?
After dinner, with the impending sunset, Addison called an Uber for the both of you. She took you back to the hotel she’d been staying at following her divorce from Derek Shepherd. She led you up to her room, telling you all about the different things the hotel had–a gym, obviously, billiards, a family and an adults only pool (with a hot tub), as well as a jacuzzi in her bathroom. Seeing your excitement at the jacuzzi, she suggested that the pair of you take a dive–she’d let you borrow one of her two swimsuits.
After looking through her luggage, she handed you a black bikini. “You can change first,” she said. You stepped into the bathroom, only a few paces from where you were standing. Peeling off your pants, you noticed the size of the jacuzzi. It wasn’t large. Regardless of where you sat, you’d be in contact with Addison. The thought sent a shiver down your spine, and heat to your cheeks. You tried to shake it off, pulling off the rest of your clothes and putting on Addison’s bikini. As you glared in the mirror, you noticed how it fit you. It wasn’t skimpy, (Addison surely wouldn’t have offered it to you if it was) but you looked good. The lighting in the bathroom placed emphasis on your barely-there abs, and made you look much more toned than you truly were.
Checking yourself out, you decided to pull your hair down from the messy bun it had been in during the day. You weren’t sure why, but you made sure that your hair looked perfect before you exited the bathroom.
Addison stared at you in silence for a moment, checking you out. She seemed to snap out of it quickly, saying, “Sorry. Not used to seeing my bikini on someone else.” You noticed a red tint on her cheeks as she passed you to go into the bathroom, though. You sat on the bed, trying to keep your mind away from imagining Addison in a bikini, even though you’d see her in one in a few moments. You didn’t want to think about it–seeing her collarbone, her shoulders, her waist. God, you couldn’t even think about her legs without your face heating up. Which shouldn’t happen. You couldn’t be thinking about your friend–your coworker–like that.
She opened the door moments later, wearing a pink bikini. You took a mental note of that, Addison’s favorite color is pink, surprisingly. It was like you felt time stop when you saw her. She looked gorgeous, better than you could’ve ever imagined that anyone could. Her voice brought you back to reality.
“I turned on the jacuzzi. So…”
“Right,” you said, and followed her into the bathroom. She got into the bathroom with all the grace you could imagine. You tried to not get distracted, following her into the jacuzzi. You sat across from her, your knees touching. “Must be nice to come home to this,” you joked.
“Oh, yeah,” she smiled. “This thing has to be one of the best ways to unwind.”
“What are the other ways?” you asked, a slight bit of flirtation coming out. You didn’t even realize, not until you had already said it.
“Can’t tell you all my secrets, can I?” Addison flirted back, brushing her knee along your leg. Hearing the ding of her cellphone, Addison reached to the counter behind you, where she’d placed her phone before you’d come into the bathroom. You held your breath at the close proximity. Her stomach was practically in your face, and it took nearly everything in you to not look up. She sighed when she looked at it, but quickly came back down to the jacuzzi, sitting next to you, instead of across from you.
“Hi,” you said, taking a deep breath.
“Hi,” Addison replied, a sly smirk on her face.
“Who was that?”
“Oh, just Derek. Nothing important,” she said, ever-so-slightly moving closer to you. You felt her thigh against yours, and nearly went into cardiac arrest. It was a miracle that you weren’t hooked up to a heart monitor, because she surely would’ve caught on to the fact that you were practically dying from just being near her. Addison pushed a piece of your hair behind your ear. “Did I ever tell you how much I appreciate you?”
“Uh… you might’ve mentioned it once or twice,” you said, quietly, as Addison started to get closer to you.
“You make my life so much easier by just being in it,” she confessed, looking into your eyes. You swallowed thickly, your breath picking up. “Are you nervous?” Addison asked, picking up on the tenseness radiating from you. When you didn’t answer, she said, “Don’t be nervous. It’s just me.” Leaning forward, Addison placed a soft kiss on your lips. Your hands found their way into her hair, and Addison planted herself on top of your legs. Like something snapped, the kiss heated up, and you felt Addison’s hands running along your sides and then felt a hand along your thigh, and one in your hair. After a few moments, Addison pulled back, resting her forehead on yours. “Good?”
“Yeah. Yeah. Good,” you said. One of Addison’s hands found your neck, pressing on your pulse point.
“Relax, Y/N. I’m gonna have to take you back to the hospital.”
“If it means spending more time with you…” you trailed off, lightly joking. You glared into her eyes. “You’re so pretty.”
“Thank you,” she said, before returning to kiss you. Addison’s hips started to grind against nothing, which didn’t go unnoticed from you. Even though she wasn’t doing much to you–just the feeling of her thighs moving along yours was enough to drive you crazy. It didn’t get easier when she started to slip her tongue into your mouth. You moaned into her mouth, which really didn’t go unnoticed by Addison, as she ran her hand back up to your chest, feeling you up through the bikini she lent you. She pulled back slightly, “having fun?” she asked, while continuing to feel you up.
It took everything in you to not make a sound, which was very evident to Addison. “Mhm…” you hummed in response.
“Oh, come on… Use your words,” Addison commanded lightly.
“Yes. Addison, I need-,” you started, cutting yourself off because of the pleasure that Addison was bringing you.
“What do you need, sweetheart?”
“You. Just… you. All I need is you,” you admitted, breathlessly. Addison’s confident exterior faded, seemingly affected by your statement. She practically lunged toward you, placing her lips on yours roughly. Her hands traveled up and down your back and sides quickly. She lightly pulled on the back of the bikini you were wearing before pulling apart to ask,
“May I?”
You nodded, knowing your words would fail you. You pulled Addison back towards you, and it was now your turn to kiss her roughly. She made a noise of surprise before pulling the strings to your bikini, causing it to fall off completely. Taking her lips off of yours, she began to kiss down your jaw and onto your neck, where she sucked for a moment. Doing it with a doctor really was as good as you’d think. Addison knew all the spots. Moving down, past your neck, she placed light kisses along your collarbone and down onto one of your breasts.
You couldn’t help the moan that came out of you. “Oh, Addie…” Addison pulled back, scanning your body.
“You’re so beautiful. Perfect,” she decided, bringing one of her hands to your breast. Lightly, she ran her thumb back-and-forth across your nipple, watching your reaction. She took note of your heavy breaths. “Feels good?” You nodded. “Just sensitive?” she questioned.
“Yeah, for you.”
“You’re gonna inflate my ego by saying things like that,” Addie warned.
“Things like what? The truth?”
“Shut up,” Addison said, going to kiss you again. She began to toy with your nipple, loving the way you squirmed under her. You couldn’t help the quiet moans that came out of your mouth. Her other hand found its way to your upper thigh, before she pulled apart again, “Can I-”
“Addison, you can do whatever you want to me,” you cut her off, pulling Addison’s face back to yours. Within seconds, you felt Addison’s hand sliding under your bikini bottom. You lifted your hips instinctively, giving her a better angle. When Addison felt how wet you were, the both of you moaned. When one of her fingers came up to your clit, you whined.
“So, you’re really sensitive, huh?” she asked.
“I already told you-”
“Don’t be ashamed, it’s hot,” Addison told you, slowly sliding one of her fingers inside you.
“Addie…”
“I love when you say my name,” she encouraged. She slowly started to move her finger in and out of you, watching your reactions like a hawk. She could see how riled up you were, how you were desperate. Desperate in need of her. “Babe, take a breath. Slow down.”
When you did take a breath, she kissed you lightly. “That’s my girl.” Addison fully intended to take care of you. This was not going to be quick, she was going to revel in the pleasure she gave you, and as much as she loved seeing your desperation for her, she didn’t want you to tire yourself out too quickly. Again, she placed light kisses on your neck, smiling when she heard you moan. Too focused on her finger inside you, you didn’t even realize when she started sucking on your neck. When she pulled back, she said, “oops.”
“Huh?”
“You’ll see later,” she said, smirking. Before you could respond, she pushed another finger inside you.
“Oh, god, Addison,” you moaned, your head falling back. “This is… You’re making me feel so good.”
“Good. Relax for me,” she instructed. She brought herself back up to your face, beginning to make out with you again, while continuing to move her fingers in-and-out of you at a painfully slow pace, every-so-often brushing against your g-spot. Addison loved this; making you feel so good. It was like second nature. It was one of the best ways to unwind.
Eventually, Addison started to speed up her fingers, and your moans started to get louder and louder. She pulled back, wanting to watch how you squirmed because of her. “Addison,” you breathed. “Addi- Addison… oh my God.”
“Addie, please,” you begged. “Please, Addison, please.”
“You’re doing so good for me, sweetheart,” she encouraged. “Come on…” she muttered. She sped up a little bit more, biting her lip as she focused on making you feel good. It was a combination of seeing Addison biting her lip and her saying, “Come on, be a good girl for me,” that really sent you over the edge. You felt your whole body shake as you tried to slightly hold in your moans (the whole world didn’t need to hear you–only Addison). Your thighs practically crushed Addison’s hand as she helped you ride out your orgasm. Slowly, she pulled her fingers out of you, and pressed a kiss to your forehead.
She moved back to sitting next to you, and wrapped one of her arms around you, pulling you close. You rested your head on her shoulder, trying to catch your breath. The two of you sat in silence for a moment, before Addison got out of the jacuzzi, and began to help you out. She cleaned you up and dried you with a towel, before leading you back to the bed. You sat on the edge of the bed, watching Addison wordlessly as she went to get you pajamas. She placed her Yale hoodie and a pair of sweatpants next to you.
She went into the bathroom with her own pajamas, and you took that as your cue to put her clothes on. When she came back out of the bathroom, you smiled at each other. You’d never seen Addison in anything less than workplace-casual, and she looked adorable, to say the least. Her glasses only added to it–you loved her glasses. And Addison got a kick out of seeing you in her clothes.
“How are you feeling?” she asked, standing in front of you, using one of her hands to guide your jaw, having you look up at her.
“How do you think?”
“Well, I’d hope amazing,” she said, walking to the other side of the bed, and getting under the covers. You followed her lead. You fell asleep quickly, almost as soon as the lights were off. And your dreams were filled with Addison, watching her from the observatory in the operating rooms, and watching as she looked over babies and talked to patients. When you woke, it was because Addison had ordered room service for the both of you, and she was talking to the delivery man. At first, you were confused, not even remembering having fallen asleep. But when you turned and saw Addison standing at the door with her back to you, it all made sense. She still had a little bit of bedhead, but it was adorable.
“Oh, sorry. Did I wake you?” she asked when she’d turned back around and saw you staring at her with a smile.
“Maybe. I don’t mind.”
“I got breakfast,” she said nervously. She climbed back onto her bed, sitting crisscrossed next to you. Of course, you always knew Addison was kind. She was always a good friend, you’d thought, but you never imagined that she was listening to every word you were saying, which became clear when she’d gotten your favorite breakfast; something you mentioned months ago. You ate together, talking about meaningless things over breakfast. She told you about what Derek had texted her last night–asking her about one of their mutual friends back in New York. She told you about the brownstone and the house in the Hamptons. She told you about their odd neighbors.
She asked what you would tell your friends when you went home, what story you would make up. The both of you knew that there was no way you could tell your coworkers about this. Even if she just told Derek, he’d have to tell Meredith, and then word would spread throughout the entire hospital before you even went back to work. You told her, “Oh, you know. I spent the night with a gorgeous man. Tall, red hair, slender hands,” you began. “And he got me breakfast, that’ll give ‘the guy’ brownie points.”
“Wow. I get brownie points?” Addison asked, laughing to herself.
“Whoa, whoa. The mystery man I’m telling my friends about gets brownie points.”
“Of course.” Addison smiled. You left Addie’s hotel room shortly after that, making sure you avoided Mark Sloan and Chief Webber as you left. She offered to let you borrow her Yale hoodie, so you didn’t have to wear your same outfit from yesterday, but you declined. It was too risky, someone at the house would’ve noticed. You left on good terms, though, or so you thought.
Got love-struck, went straight to my head
Got lovesick all over my bed
The days following your night with Addison went by quickly, but torturously. You didn’t talk to Addison for four days, and you were honestly starting to think that Addison was avoiding you purposefully. You’d only caught sight of her a handful of times, but from afar. She was talking to Mark or arguing with Karev. You could even see Mark trying to flirt with her a few times, which would’ve sent you off-the-rails, if you weren’t trying to keep your feelings for Addison under wraps.
You weren’t doing a good job at hiding your feelings generally, though, because as soon as you got home you’d either lay facedown on the couch or immediately make a break for your bed, slamming the door behind you. Your friends knew something was up, but tried to wait it out, at first.
On Thursday, you heard your friends whispering outside your door, until George lightly knocked on your door before barging in anyway. “Hey…” he said cautiously, as if you were a cat about to lash out at him. He sat on the edge of your bed lightly. “You okay?” You took a deep breath, which to George, was a warning. “Right, bad question… is this about the guy from the other day?” You groaned before sitting up.
“It’s just like, how do we sleep together and then you completely don’t speak to me for days? Not one text, George, not one! Actually, we didn’t even really sleep together, he just fingered me and that was it! I would’ve gone further, he stopped it! Isn’t that weird? I mean, I would expect a text, at least. Like, tell me what went wrong or why you don’t want me anymore!”
“Well, maybe-”
“It would be better if I had just met him at a bar or something and it was a one-night-stand, never see you again, sort of thing. But I knew this guy! For a while! I’m gonna see him around at some point, he can’t just avoid me forever!” you continued to rant, cutting George off.
“You know, guys are-”
“It’s really just so dumb. Like you wanted me and initiated the whole thing and now you won’t even speak to me? It’s like, talk to me! You know?” You stared at George for a minute, expecting him to say something. “Say something!”
“I was expecting you to cut me off, again,” he said. “This is gonna sound horrible, but I think you’re just getting in your head about it all. I do the same thing. We should know better than anyone, though, that people have lives. We go weeks without texting people back.” You stared at him for a moment. He was right, even though you hated that fact. You just wanted Addison to want you, but the fact that she was avoiding you made you feel like it was just a one-night thing for her. It wasn’t, for you. For you, you realized that your friendship with Addison had always been a disguise. You always had feelings for Addison, how could you not have? And how could you not have realized that sooner?
You kept talking to George for a while. After some time, you were sure Meredith and Izzie weren’t listening anymore. It was hard talking to George, though, because everything had to be vague. You couldn’t reveal a thing about this man, unless it was a lie. It did help, though. You started to feel more like yourself. Addison was an adult, she’d talk to you at some point, and things would be sorted out. Surely.
Love to think you’ll never forget
Handprints in wet cement
The following day, you’d finally had a reason to talk to Addison. Dr. Bailey had asked you to deliver a file to her, and even though you would’ve rather had anyone else do it, Meredith was the only person nearby. It took a while of looking, but you’d finally managed to find Addison by the nurses’ station. Unfortunately, though, she was talking to Mark. You watched, trying to hide your utter rage, as Mark was clearly flirting with her, and she wasn’t pushing him aside. You walked up to the pair of them, clearing your throat.
“Doctor Montgomery.” She hummed when she turned, not immediately realizing it was you. “This is from Doctor Bailey,” you said, your eyes darting between her and Mark. It was hard to read Addison, but looking in her eyes, you could’ve sworn you saw her trying to hide her guilt.
But Mark… When you turned to leave, Mark said, “Leaving already? We were just starting to have fun!”
“Stop flirting with me, Mark,” you said, walking away quickly. You found an empty closet, and sat on the floor.
Adorned with smoke on my clothes
Lovelorn and nobody knows
Love thorns all over this rose
I’ll pay the price, you won’t
You were starting to feel crazy, really. How could months of friendship with Addison completely fall out of touch? You hadn’t initiated things with Addison, how were you to know that your romance would end any relationship you had had with Addison? After a few more days, the whole hospital knew you were upset. It wasn’t hard to find out—people just had to look at you. When you saw Doctor Burke in passing, even he said something about it. But nobody knew why. Well, that was a lie. People thought they knew why. They thought that it was because you were having guy problems. You were not having guy problems.
It was your turn to avoid Addison, now. There wasn’t a chance that she hadn’t heard about what was going on with you, but you hoped she knew better than to think that it was about a guy. She was smart enough to know it was about her.
To help, your friends tried to find someone else for you. They brought you to Joe’s, (keeping you away from the dartboard, and away from the drinks, they only let you have enough to let loose) and tried to set you up with every man they found. They were cute, you supposed. Their plan really wasn’t working out. They tried for a while, though, you had to give them that. Even Cristina seemed dedicated, though you saw her complain to Meredith often. You had a good enough time, until you were leaving. Alex had showed up at some point, and he took part in trying to get you laid. But once you had decided to leave, he said, “Oh, get over it, already! Let me show you a good time.”
You honestly could not believe him. You knew he was an asshole, obviously. But he’d seen you in pain for weeks, and still said something like that. “What the fuck is wrong with you?” you shouted, turning and walking out the door before you could even see his reaction. That was new, from you. Even with Alex always being a douchebag, you’d never yelled at him. You called an Uber, and went home, blasting sad music in your headphones once you’d reached your bed. You don’t know when your friends got home, you didn’t see them until the morning. In the morning, you didn’t eat breakfast, and you barely said anything to your friends. They didn’t say much to each other, either. It was like your presence immediately ruined the mood. You yelled at Alex. Sure, you never yell, but it was Alex, you should be allowed to yell at Alex without Izzie acting like you’d kill her for speaking.
You couldn’t believe this was happening. How could going out with Addison after work one day lead to all this? This was Addison’s doing, and yet you were living your life in misery while her life stayed the same. You’d seen Addison in passing a few times, but only for work. You really didn’t even say hello. It was a week after you yelled at Alex that she paged you.
Seeing Addison at first was fine. You were in your “work mode” and she was just Doctor Montgomery, not Addison. But when she told you to follow her, and she started to lead you to an on-call room, you started to get nervous. This wasn’t work. This was Addison. She locked the door behind you.
“Hey,” she said, clearly nervous, even for herself.
“Hey,” you said back.
“I heard about what happened with Alex,” she grimaced. “I’m sure he deserved it.”
“When does he not?” you said, numbly. It pained Addison to see you like this. There wasn’t the slightest bit of you that was happy. She could see it in your eyes. “Is that all you heard?”
“No.”
“That’s great,” you said, as sarcastic as you could, even with how numb you felt. “Didn’t know you partake in the gossip.”
“I don’t, but people don’t shut up.”
“Right.” Addison took a step closer to you, your back against the door.
“Will you look at me, please?” you stayed looking anywhere but at Addison. You couldn’t do it. It would kill you. “You haven’t looked at me in weeks. Please, look at me.” Even with how upset you were, there was something in Addison’s voice, the genuine pleading, that you couldn’t deny. When your eyes met hers, you saw how glazed her eyes were. She wasn’t crying, but she nearly was. “I’m sorry.”
“You’re sorry?”
“Yes. I’m sorry. Of course, I’m sorry. Do you think I wanted to hurt you, really? Is that the impression I gave you?”
“Doctor Montgomery, you didn’t talk to me for weeks.”
“Doctor Montgomery? You’re calling me Doctor Montgomery?”
“Yes. I am.” You noticed Addison’s breath picking up. She took a step back, and ran a hand through her hair. You couldn’t remember a time where you’d seen her like this.
“I’m… I didn’t mean to do that,” she said. “God, I didn’t mean to hurt you,” she continued, sitting on the bed. “I didn’t mean to hurt you,” she whispered, as if she was saying it to herself. You could see how hard it was to keep herself together. Once you realized that, you had a hard time keeping yourself together.
“Addison…” she looked at you. “I don’t…” you began. “There’s a lot that I could say. So much that I could say. But… I just don’t want to do this anymore.” You started to slide down the door, and didn’t stop yourself. “I’m so tired, Addie. I can’t sleep, I can’t breathe. I can’t talk to people, or have people talk to me, and I’m tired of it.” You started to cry, and heard rustling before you felt Addison sitting next to you. You leaned into her. “Can we please stop this? Can we just start over? As friends, or… whatever you want. I just need this to be over.”
“Let me take you to the prom,” Addison said.
“What?” you said. Surely, she did not say “the prom.”
“Didn’t you hear? Richard’s having a prom. Tomorrow.”
“Oh. No, I didn’t hear. Haven’t really been listening to people, recently.”
“Right…”
“I’ll go with you,” you said.
“Really?” Addison asked, a little over-excited, her voice higher than usual.
“Yeah,” you said, a small smile on your face.
“I’ll pick you up at eight?” she suggested.
“Sounds good, Addie.” She pressed a kiss to your forehead before standing, saying she had to go. You scooted over, letting her leave. You sat in the on-call room for a while, smiling to yourself. You figured that for the time being, you’d just tell everyone that the guy finally called, and you worked things out.
But if I’m all dressed up
They might as well be looking at us
And if they call me a “slut”
You know, it might be worth it for once
You had been ready half an hour early, pacing your room, making sure you looked okay. You decided on a baby pink gown (yes, Addison’s favorite color, on purpose) that tied up the back and had a slit. You hadn’t seen Izzie or Meredith yet, since they were busy getting themselves ready, but you had seen George, and he seemed stunned. He said that you looked great, and he would be surprised if you didn’t have men all-over you the entire night.
At 7:55, you were still pacing your room, but with your heels on, now. You heard the doorbell ring at exactly eight. And heard Izzie and George run to the door, you cursed yourself for not being down there already.
“Doctor Montgomery!” You heard your friends say at the same time.
“Nice see you, Doctor Stevens, O’Malley. I’m here for Y/N.”
You came down the stairs just in time to see their faces. They didn’t say anything though, just ran further into the house, probably to try to connect the dots. You left with Addison without a word.
“I got you a corsage,” Addison said, while you were on the porch.
“You did? I didn’t even think about that, I’m sorry.”
“I invited you, thought it would be nice,” she said, sliding the corsage on your wrist. It was red, matching her dress. She looked beautiful. You could’ve stared at her for the whole night, instead of even going to the prom. When you arrived at the prom, you mingled around for a while, trying the punch and doing the photo booth that the hospital had somehow acquired. In one of the pictures, Addison kissed your cheek. You tucked the photostrips into your purse, making a note to give Addison her’s later.
Although you were trying to focus on Addison, and not the people around you, you noticed that it seemed like people hadn’t caught on, yet. People glanced at you occasionally, but it seemed as though that was because you were no longer moody. You and Addison talked about your high school prom experiences. She told you about how she was a band geek, and you told her about how you had a lot of friends. “You were a popular girl?” she questioned, humored.
“I wasn’t a popular girl, I just had a lot of friends!”
“You were a popular girl. That makes so much sense.”
“It’s like social situations come so easy to you. You’re perfect at them. It’s like you always know what to say. You’re so good with patients and their families.”
“Thank you,” you said, taking the compliment whole-heartedly. “I was not a popular girl.”
“Mhm.” Addison smiled at you. The DJ started to play something slow. “Dance with me?” You took Addison’s hand, and she led you towards the dance floor. You stayed near the edge, trying to keep yourself out of the spotlight, but you could tell people were looking anyway. You saw Izzie and George in your periphery, and even Derek and Meredith had stopped dancing to look at you, jaws dropped. You saw Alex looking on from afar, a soft smile on his face. He’d gotten over you yelling at him, and understood the line he crossed (he wasn’t going to apologize). You loved dancing with Addison. Neither of you were dancers, by any means, but it was nice to have her hands on you, especially after being away from her for so long.
When the song was over, she led you away from the prom, and you found an empty room. “I didn’t want people staring at us anymore,” she said. You took steps towards her as she spoke.
“Yeah,” you said, staring at her lips.
“You look beautiful,” Addison said, looking you up and down.
“So do you, Addie.” You took another step towards her, your voice lower than usual.
“You like the red? I wasn’t sure about it.” As soon as she finished her sentence, you pulled her close to you, pressing your lips onto hers. It wasn’t slow, it wasn’t soft. You couldn’t help it anymore. She looked hot, and it was making you feel hot. Addison was a little taken aback at first, but quickly began to reciprocate your kisses. Your hands found her hips, and she whimpered into your mouth. Addie turned the two of you around, pressing you against the examination table, and telling you to jump between kisses. You jumped onto the table, Addison hiking up your dress and standing between your legs. She pulled on the strings to the back of your dress, letting you slightly loose. Addison’s hand gently found its way to your core, lightly rubbing against it. She was giving you the friction you desperately needed. You were ready to let Addison do whatever she wanted to you, until you heard the door open.
You stopped kissing quickly, turning your heads to see Derek. He was standing with his mouth agape. Clearly, not expecting what he saw. Who’s to blame him? Seeing your ex-wife kissing your girlfriend’s roommate had to be shocking. “Derek, you’re gonna start drooling,” Addison said, rolling her eyes.
“Sorry,” he said. “Sorry.” He left quickly, shutting the door behind him. You could see him stand outside of the room for a moment though, surely short-circuiting. When you looked back at Addison, you knew the two of you had to get out of there. She looked hot, too hot, but she also  looked like she had just been making out. You must’ve looked like that too. As you left, you started to lose the worry of judgment. Who cares if you’re with Addison? What does it matter if anyone cares, if you had Addie?
The short ride back to your house was fairly silent, but comfortable.
And if I’m gonna be drunk
I might as well be drunk in love
When you got back to the house, you and Addison shared a glass of wine before heading to your room.
“I need you to know that I wasn’t trying to avoid you.”
“I know.”
“But… I need you to really know that. I mean it. I’ve never done this before,” Addison began. “I really want this, though. I really want you. You’ve been my best friend, but I can’t look at you and not think about how perfect you are, and how I just want to make you happy.”
“Okay,” you said.
“You get it?”
“I think so, yeah.”
“So, we’re starting over?” Addison asked.
“Yeah, we can start over,” you confirmed.
“Okay. I’ll be better this time.”
“I know, Addie.”
“Can I spend the night?” You smiled at the thought.
“If you want to? Derek is probably gonna be around. These walls are kinda thin.” you warned. It would surely be weird for Addison to hear her ex-husband getting it on with another woman.
“That’s okay. Thin walls go both ways,” Addison said, smirking. Of course, she’d be up to something. “Do you wanna shower?”
“We are not doing it in the shower. I’m too clumsy.”
“Oh, I know.”
“So, you wanna have a PG-13 shower with me?”
“I am actually interested in you for more than sex. Yes, I would love to shower with you.”
The two of you exited the bathroom just in time to see Derek and Meredith walking to her room. You stood in shock for a moment, but laughed it off. As soon as you and Addison reached your room, she shut the door behind you, locking it, and immediately dropped her towel, pressing her face to yours. You slid your hands along her sides before dropping your own towel. Addison pulled away from you, commanding you to, “get on the bed.” You did as she said, and felt your face heat up when she ended up on top of you, kissing you for a few moments before her mouth found its way to your neck. You couldn’t help your moans, but tried to keep them quiet. Addison laughed to herself.
“Something funny?”
“Just love seeing how I make you feel, babe,” Addison said, causing your legs to tense. She began to kiss down your chest, to your stomach, and to your upper thighs. When she pressed the first kiss to your thigh, you twitched. God, Addison was gonna be the death of you. Addison pressed soft kisses back up your thighs, finding herself at your core. She licked a long stripe up your folds slowly. You moaned loudly. You did not expect this tonight.
“Addie, oh my God,” you whined as she started to pick up her pace, getting more comfortable with her movements. Your legs started to tremble, and you knew it was only a matter of minutes before Addison sent you over the edge. “Addison… Addie, you’re so good at that. Just like that.” Addison continued her pursuit, exactly how you wanted it. “Oh, please don’t stop. Please, Addie, please, don’t stop… Oh my God!” With a few more seconds, your thighs tightened around Addison’s head. Your whole body trembled, and while working you through your orgasm, Addison watched you.
“That was so hot, baby,” she said, clearly turned on.
After taking a moment to breathe, you said, “Addison, please lay down.” She did as you asked, and you began to press kisses to her neck. “I’m giving you a hickey. Payback.” She moaned quietly in response. You’d only given her a small hickey, she could cover it easily, if she wanted to. Post-hickey, you worked your way down to her chest, lightly sucking on her breast. Addison’s moans became more frequent, and it was music to your ears. You would give anything to hear that for the rest of your life. While your mouth was busy with Addison’s chest, one of your hands found its way between her legs. You began by slowly rubbing her clit, gaining a fairly loud moan out of Addie, and then pressing a finger of yours inside her once she seemed prepared. You pulled back from her chest in that moment, wanting to see her reaction.
She threw her head back, closing her eyes, and moaning constantly as you slowly moved your finger in and out of her. “Look at me, Addie.” She opened her eyes lightly, heavy with desire. ‘So pretty, Addison. You’re so perfect for me.” You slid another finger in her, which was easy considering how wet she’d become.
“Y/N,” she moaned. “I’m gonna cum. Don’t stop,” she said. A few moments later, and she was coming undone on your hand. You were honored. How could you not be, having brought this much pleasure to such a perfect woman. She shook intensely. Her chest rising and falling quickly, as she tried to catch her breath. “That was…” she trailed off. “Thanks,” she said. “I’m not done with you, though. Lay down.”
You two laid down for a few moments, as Addison tried to regain her composure. Once she did, she was practically full energy as her hands found their way to your core. “Addie…” you moaned quietly.
“Yes, baby?” she asked, as she slid two fingers inside you.
“Oh, fuck. I’m not gonna last, Addie.”
“I know,” she replied, a smirk on her face as she worked her fingers in and out of you. She began to move her fingers inside you quickly, pressing against your g-spot over-and-over. She had you exactly how she wanted you to in mere seconds.
“Addison,” you warned between heavy breaths. “Addison, please. Addie… Addie, I’m gonna cum for you.”
“Come on, sweetheart. Cum for me. Be a good girl and cum for me,” her words sent you over the edge for the second time that night. When Addison pulled her fingers out of you, she laid next to you, the both of you tired out for the night. She wiped her fingers on a tissue, before helping you under the covers.
“Did you plan on that happening?” you asked her. At the beginning of the night, you hadn’t even considered having sex with Addison.
“Not really, but it is prom night, after all,” she said, pulling you into her arms. “Get some rest, sweetheart,” Addison said. She was warm, and being in her arms felt amazing. Your mind wanted to go a hundred miles a minute, thinking about everything that just happened. You told yourself you would think about it tomorrow, whenever you weren’t busy answering the questions from your friends. Sleep came first. Especially if Addison told you so.

Cover your cough.
Addison Montgomery x f!reader.
Being on Addison's Montgomery service is not an easy job. Especially when you have to look for her all over the hospital. Unfortunately Seattle Grace has a lot of good hiding spots.
"Hey, have you seen Dr. Montgomery?" You asked one of the nurses.
"No, sorry." She replied and rolled her eyes.
"Okay, thanks."
You like most of the nurses, they're really nice and very helpful but some of them are horrible. For example, this one, her name is Bria and she's a pain in the ass. Which makes you sad because you've always been really nice to her, unlike other residents.
You had been looking for her for an hour already, You really thought that Bailey wanting to get rid of you, did not mention that Addison had taken time off. Just when you were really about to give up you walked into one of the one-call rooms. You sat down on the bed that faced the couch and saw pink scrubs you've been looking for.
"There you are, I've been searching for you all day Dr. Montgomery," you mumbled. "Oh, are you okay?"
She didn't look like she was ok. She was sitting leaning on the couch and almost melting.
"Yes, I'm fine. Thank you, y/n," she replied.
You walked up to her and put your hand on her forehead. You had never seen an attending in such a state. Especially her. You've never seen her like that.
"Shit, you're burning up and I'm pretty sure that white paint has more color than your face. You're not okay, Addison. You're sick," you gasped. "Come on, I'll drive you home." You stuck out your hand.
"No, y/n. You have patients, you can't just leave. I'm gonna be fine." She protested trying to get up.
"No, come on. Lay on the bed or you can stay on the couch, whatever you feel comfortable with and I'll go to the chief and tell him that you're sick and that I'm the only one who's going to drive you home. You stay here."
As you said, so you did. You went to the chief and explained to him that you were currently on Addison's service and actually weren't busy at the time. At first he didn't like the idea, but when you started talking about how dangerous it was for her patients to stay, he quickly succumbed. Also, you bought water and a sandwich because she looked like she needed energy.
"Okay, I'm back. Do you want a sandwich? Water?" She nodded her head no. "Addison, drink this at least and don't argue with me." She finally gave in. "Are you in any pain? Anything I could look into?"
"My stomach hurts a little bit," she muttered.
"Lift your shirt up."
"No, y/n. That's fine, I'm fine."
"Stop being so stubborn, please let me help you. You finally have a chance to see how good I am." She smirked. "Now come on, lift your shirt a little bit."
You examined her abdomen and also did an ultrasound to be safe. Everything looked fine. But you could tell she was in pain, and you don't quite know why, but you felt a strange feeling in your chest. When you finally made it to your car you breathed a sigh of relief. You knew that at this point her only option was to go with you. I mean, after all, she was already in the car anyway.
It was the first time you were in the apartment of any attending, well, maybe not counting the fact that Derek practically lived in the house you lived. You climbed the stairs and soon found yourselves in a cozy apartment. You told Addison to sit on the couch and covered her with a blanket right off the bat. She looked innocent, almost like a baby.
"Why are you doing this?" You heard her raspy voice behind you.
"Huh?"
"You're nice to me and you've always been, even when you found out about me and Mark. Even when I was hard on you. I mean, I get that you're a doctor too so you help people, but just... why are you helping me?"
You couldn't hide the fact that you just cared. Fact, Addison did stupid things in life, as we all do, but that didn't make her a bad person. Besides, you started to have a little crush on her from the first time you saw her, and on top of that you became something like friends and she was really close to you. You understood each other.
"I just care about you," you responded and turned around to look at her. "Okay look, this is probably not a very good time to tell you this but... I kinda have a crush on you?" You made a weird face. "I didn't tell you anything because this whole thing with Derek and then Mark was hard on you, but yeah I have a crush on you, maybe something even more than a crush. Also we're friends, really good friends so stop asking me these ridiculous questions," you explained.
"You have a crush on me?" Her eyes widened.
"God, sorry I didn't mean to make you... Look, we don't have to do anything about it. I'll be fine. Just forget it." You smiled awkwardly.
Couple days later...
"You finally told her?" Mer asked and took a bite of her fries, you covered your face with your hands.
"That wasn't the plan but yeah I did. God, I'm so embarrassed." You laughed.
"Was she shocked?" Alex asked.
"Pretty much, yeah."
"You're right, this is dumb. She's practically you're boss." Cristina shrugged her shoulders.
"You're acting like you didn't screwd an attending yourself." You rolled your eyes and she just raised her hands in defense.
You're pager went off. You looked at it. It said 211 which meant that Addison paged you. You looked up at everyone's faces, most of them smirked.
"Is that your lover?" Izzie teased you.
"I hate you all, I have to go." You got up from the table and headed toward Addison's office.
You felt like you was going to throw up. You haven't seen her for a few days, after you left her apartment that day you couldn't go back. You felt stupid. You told her, you told her you felt something and she just sat there looking at you so you left as soon as you could. You didn't want to make things awkward between you, you had already passed that stage when Addison found out that your friend was Meredith.
You stood in front of the door urging yourself to knock, and when you finally worked up the courage you almost ran out of there.
"Hey, you paged me," you said looking into the office.
She was sitting at her desk, looking much better than a few days earlier. Although overall she always looked good which was unfair.
"Can we, ummm... talk about what happened?" She asked looking at you with a slight site of embarrassment in her eyes.
"Oh, sure. Why not?" you said ironically. "So I told you I have a crush and you looked at me like I was crazy, then I felt like I actually was, so I left and been avoiding you since then."
She stood up from the desk and faced you. You both breathed loudly.
"I didn't look at you like you were crazy!"
"You know when was the last time I said I liked someone!?" Now you both raised your voices. "What are you doing?" you asked confused when she came so close that you could feel her breath on your face.
"Would you just stand still?" She asked and came close enough that your lips touched in a kiss.
At that moment you thought you could fly. Your knees bent under you as soon as her hands reached your hair. God she kissed so well. Her lips were softer than anything you've ever known. It was sweet, effortlessly sweet. You wrapped your arms around her waist, her hands were in your hair. You lost yourself in her.
You break the kiss. You felt dizzy. You swear you could still feel her lips on yours. You were breathless for a moment, the silence was now filled only by your breathing.
"You..." you whispered.
"I didn't know what to say, y/n. I've never been with a woman... It's just so confusing because, I would know what I should've done that day, if you were a man but you're not and... I like you, I never even thought about falling in love with a woman. It's just... You're so caring, beautiful, smart... I..." Her eyes were running all over the room.
"Look at me," you breathed. Her blue eyes finally looked straight into yours. "God your eyes are so beautiful." You ran your thumb over her cheek. "We don't have to rush anything. Baby steps, okay?" you asked her and she nodded.
"Baby steps." She bit her lip. "Now, please kiss me." You smirked and pulled her closer to finally put your lips in a long kiss.

It's Snowing!
Tumblr media
It's snowing!
Maverick x female!reader
Warnings: A lot of sarcasm and comedic parts, a small bit of pregnancy horomes( if you squint), Addison!oc, just nothing but cuteness :)
Summary: You and your husband Pete take your guy's one year old daughter Addison, to see snow for the first time while Nick, Carole and Bradley tag along.
You let out a huff as you slowly get up and grab the pink beanie that was on the dresser. "Okay sweetie let's put this on and then we can go play" You tell your daughter Addison, as she nods her head up and down excitedly causing her brunette curls to fly around. "Need help y/n/n" You hear Nick say as he comes in and gives his niece some tickles.
"Hey hey save those for outside mister" You say as you playfully shove him before checking to see if your daughter's beanie was fully on. "Okay Addy let's go!" You said as you pick your daughter up and rest her on your hip as you walked down the hallway and into the living room where Pete, Carole and Bradley were, also dressed in warm winter clothing.
Pete gets up and walks towards the three of you but not before he stops in the middle with Goose to do their little saying. "You look great, honey" Goose says adjusting Maverick's collar on his winter jacket before heading over to his wife and son. "Thanks, dear" Maverick recites before walking over to you two with a smile.
"There's my two beautiful girls" He says before giving you a kiss on the lips and then Addison a kiss on her cheek, causing her to laugh. "Okay is everyone ready to play in the snow" Carole says excitedly as she bounces Bradley on her laugh causing him to giggle while you adjust Addison on my hip before grabbing her diaper bag with a few other things.
You guys walk outside and get in the car to head to this little park just a few blocks away from the house. The kids can play and tucker out at the same time. It's a win-win for both. The boys take the kids to play in the snow while You and Carole sit on one of the benches watching.
"How's Maverick liking fatherhood?" Carole asks as she pours you guys some hot chocolate that had a splash of whiskey in it, for that extra warmth. "Addy has her daddy wrapped around her tiny finger. He's such an amazing dad and husband. He misses her when he has to go to the base but he knows that we have you and Bradley to keep us company while they're away. He still can't believe we have another one on the way" You explained before letting out a content sigh as you drank your hot chocolate while you place your hand on your small bump.
Carole was about to say something as a snowball flew through the air and landed right on the side of her face. You let out a giggle before the same thing happened to you, seconds later. Both of you look to the side and see the boys with snowballs in their hands while the kids play safely in the snow. "Oh you are so gonna get it Nick Bradshaw!" Carole says before hopping off the bench and scooping up a handful of snow.
"Come on sweetheart, or do I have to throw another one?" Maverick tested playfully as he pretended to throw one. "I think I'm fine right here baby" You said while drinking the rest of your warm drink while you discreetly started scooping up the snow that wasn't scraped off by you or Carole. He winds his arm back ready to throw but you were too quick.
Instantly he gets hit in the face with a half fasted made snowball, causing you to laugh. "Nice one y/n!" Carole shouts as throws another ball towards Goose. Maverick throws another one at you as it hits your shoulder. "Come here you" Maverick says as he starts to chase after you causing a playful squeal to leave your lips.
"Never!" You tease as you run towards your guy's daughter and pick her up before turning around, only to run into Pete causing you to fall onto the ground. Maverick lands on top of you and Addison, leaving a few inches in between you guys. "Woah.." You whispered, seeing your breath in the air as he glanced down at your lips then at your eyes.
"Yea." He whispered back as he just stared at you before leaning down a little more, careful to not crush Addison in between you guys. "You are so beautiful like this. The faint rosiness in your cheeks from the cold, Your eyes sparkling so beautifully, Everything about you is beautiful" He stated before giving you a delicate and passionate kiss.
The sound of a camera clicking followed by a flash made you guys turn your heads to see Nick with Bradley in his arms while Carole had a camera in her hands, smiling. "Oh you guys are so cute don't let me interrupt" She smiles before lifting the camera up to her face once more. Maverick slowly gets up off of you as he sits down on the ground before gently grabbing his baby girl in his arms.
"I love you" He says as he offers you his hand to help you up. "I love you" You said as you push yourself up and adjust Addison's beanie as she looked up at you with her bright blue eyes. "Okay love birds let's get this started shall we" Goose says as he throws his son into the air before catching him while Bradley was full of giggles.
The rest of the day was filled with lots of snow fights, pictures and spiked hot chocolate. By the time you guys got home, The kids were tuckered out so you guys put them to bed before changing and heading into the living room to sit in front of the fireplace.
"I love our family" You say as Carole smiles before leaning her head on Nick's shoulder. "Yea we have our own little family" Maverick says before pulling you closer to him as he kissed your head. Your little family. Maverick and Addison, Carole, Nick and Bradley.

New Student // Willa Lykensen
request: could you do Willa from Zombies x female reader (if you’re not comfortable then gn reader), a really cute fic where Willa has a crush for the first time and she’s quite nervous around the reader which is out of character for her, but Addison and Wynter assure her that it’s okay and Willa flirts with reader?
prompts: none!
summary: you’ve just moved to seabrook, and everything has been going great! except for the fact that one of your new “friends” is pretty much ignoring you. what happens when the two of you are tricked into spending time together?
warnings: god used as a curse word?, also a kinda abrupt ending :/
word count: 2k
a/n: gn!reader
Tumblr media
Your hands clenched tightly against the straps of your backpack as you looked up at the building in front of you. Seabrook High. It was yet another first day of school for you. After having spent the majority of your life moving from city to city, your parents decided they wanted to move back to their hometown. And while you were excited at first due to the chance of finally having a somewhat normal highschool experience, Seabrook wasn’t anything like you thought it would be.
Before even walking into the building, you looked around in shock at everyone walking beside you. And just when you thought you were finally going to have a normal high school experience. But no, you just had to go to a school that had monsters attending.
Now you were never one to judge. You knew how it felt to be hated for reasons you couldn’t control. But just the thought of having to spend the rest of the year sharing classrooms with zombies, werewolves, and aliens made you a bit uneasy.
Your parents assured you they were all very nice and that you had nothing to be afraid of. And while you believed that none of the other students would ever actually harm you, you still couldn’t shake your anxiety.
But nonetheless, you had to walk inside. It wasn’t like you could just turn around and hide in your room for the rest of the year. People would notice. And it was your senior year, so not graduating didn’t seem like a very pleasant idea.
Taking a deep breath, you started walking into the building. The perfect white walls accented with pink and green filled your view as you took in your new surroundings. A group of cheerleaders walked by, looking as peppy as ever. You could easily tell apart the cliques based on the outfits alone. And looking down at yourself, you realized you didn’t really fit into any of them.
The humans wore pink and blue, looking perfectly well put together. Cheerleaders were all wearing their bright pink and green uniforms. The zombies wore clothes that looked like they were handmade, patches of fabric and uneven stitching catching your eye. The aliens stood out too, all shiny and futuristic looking. And even the werewolves had their own look, purple and brown, with faux fur accenting their looks.
Meanwhile you wore an old band tee and ripped jeans. You stuck out like a sore thumb. A few people looked at you weirdly. None of the stares were mean, rather just curious or confused. You didn’t have a clique, or a group of people like you. No one even looked remotely similar. You felt your anxiety beginning to build up again. Maybe you really weren’t going to find any friends. Maybe there was no common ground between you and anyone else in this town.
You carefully squeezed your way through the crowd of teenagers, occasionally glancing down at the paper in your hand that held both your schedule and your locker number. After wandering through the halls aimlessly, you found the locker that would be yours for the rest of the year. You walked up towards it, and entered the combination on your paper, but the lock wouldn’t budge. You tried again and again, but it still wouldn’t open.
You let out a frustrated huff, punching the locker as you did so.
“Need some help with that?”
You turned around to find a girl, with bright blue hair standing behind you. Her hair was a stark contrast to the green and pink dress she wore. She held both her pom poms in one hand, the other was pointing towards the locked behind you.
“Uhm yeah. I’ve been trying the combination but it just won’t open.”
“Mind hold these?” She extended her pom poms out towards you, her smile never fading
You nodded and grabbed them, moving aside so she could try her luck at opening your locker. Somehow she managed to bust it open on the second try.
“One of the numbers in your combo was wrong. It was a 10, not a 1.” She smiled yet again, grabbing her pom poms back from your hands.
“Thank you so much! You’re a lifesaver.”
“Oh, it was nothing. You’re new here, right? I’m Addison!”
“Y/n. Nice to meet you!”
“You too! I guess I’ll see you around.”
And with that she headed off down the hallway, practically bouncing with each step.
~
“Y/n! Over here!”
Your head turned at the call of your name, and you saw Addison waving you over to the table she was sitting out. You instantly felt relief wash over you knowing that you wouldn’t have to deal with finding a place to eat lunch.
You walked over to her table, and took a seat next to her, not wanting to sit next to someone you didn’t know.
“Hi,” you said as you waved nervously at everyone else sitting at the table.
“Everyone, meet y/n! They’re new here! Y/n this is Zed, Bree, Eliza, Bonzo, Willa, Wyatt, and Wynter,” she said as she pointed towards everyone sitting around you.
They all greeted you, and talked excitedly, happy to have met someone new. All of them except for Willa that is. She kept glancing at you and then looking away, not saying anything and instead focusing on the lunch tray in front of her. No one else seemed to notice her silence, or if they did they didn’t say anything about it. Maybe she was just like this. You didn’t want to say anything or draw attention to it, especially since you had just met. But a small part of you felt a bit sad that she had ignored you.
~
“What was all that about Willa?” Wynter asked, walking up beside her.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Will replied, attempting to brush off Wynter's comments.
“Don’t think you don’t know what you were doing. You barely said anything at lunch! And you’re always chatty!”
“You know I’m not that friendly around new people.”
“Well yeah, but I mean you didn’t say anything at all! You could barely even look at y/n.”
Willa’s eyes widened and she felt her face grow hot at the mention of you. Wynter almost immediately noticed the change in Willa’s demeanor, and managed to put two and two together.
“Wait a minute. Were you ignoring y/n because they make you nervous?” Wynter asked, a teasing smile growing on her face.
“What? No! I don’t get nervous.”
“You are so lying right now!”
“I am not!”
“Mhm, yeah sure. Whatever you say.”
~
“Addison!” Wynter yelled, speed walking down the hallway to catch up with the cheerleader.
“What?” Addison asked, laughing slightly at the excitement on Wynter’s face.
“I think Willa has a crush on y/n!”
“Wait seriously?” Addison said, a smile beginning to grow on her face.
“Yeah! I mean think about it, why else would Willa just completely ignore them? And whenever I mention their name, Willa gets all squirmy.”
“Oh my gosh! Ok we have to do something!”
“Like what?”
“We have to figure out a way to get them to talk!”
“Ok! But how?”
“I have an idea!” Addison said, smiling even wider.
~
You tapped your fingers on the table in front of you, attempting to find something to keep you stimulated while you sat in wait. Earlier that day Addison had asked you to meet up with her and some of her friends at the library to study for the biology test coming up at the end of the week. Of course you had accepted, both wanting to spend time with your new friends and desperately wanting to not fail your first test at a new school.
She said she was going to meet you at 3:30, but it was now 3:45 and Addison wasn’t anywhere in sight. None of them were. You were beginning to think maybe you had gotten the time wrong, or maybe everyone else was at some other library even though you were pretty sure this was the only library in Seabrook.
Another ten minutes passed, and you were about to leave when your phone buzzed. You picked it up to see a text from Addison.
Cheer practice is running really late today, I’m not sure I’m gonna be able to make it :(
Hope the study group goes well!
Well that explains where Addison was. But what about everyone else? You waited another five minutes, deciding to stick it out a little longer, just in case they were all running late. When no one else showed up, you decided to head home. Maybe you really were at the wrong place.
Just as you began putting your books back into your bag, someone walked over to the table you were sitting at, placing their bag down beside them. You looked up to see Willa standing in front of you, her signature scowl present on her face. You felt your cheeks heat up at the sight of her. Even if she always seemed grumpy, you still found her absolutely breathtaking.
“Hey Willa. You here for the study group?” you asked, not quite brave enough to meet her eyes.
“Yeah. Where’s everyone else?” Her voice was so monotone that you couldn’t tell if she was angry or not.
“I don’t think they’re coming. I’ve been here for over half an hour, and you’re the first person to show up.”
Willa paused, something that looked like confusion flashing across her face, before returning to her normal, expressionless self.
“Addison told me to get here at four.”
“That’s weird, she told me 3:30.”
Willa’s eyes widened, a look of realization followed by annoyance. She groaned, burying her face into her hands.
“Uhm, you ok?” you asked, confused by her reaction.
“Addison did this on purpose. She wanted us to be alone together. Wynter must’ve told her.”
“Told her what?”
As soon as the words left your mouth, Willa froze. An unreadable expression crossed her face, and you felt nerves building up inside of you, panicking that you had said something wrong.
After almost a minute passed, you tried to ease the ever building tension.
“Did I say something wrong?” you said softly, not wanting to anger Willa any more.
But to your surprise, when she looked up at you her expression softened.
“No. No, you didn’t say anything wrong. Sorry about that. It’s kinda my fault that this happened. You see- god this is so awkward,” she trailed off, bringing her hands up to her face again.
You reached over and gently pulled them away, smiling when your eyes met once more.
“You can tell me if you want. I won’t judge if that’s what you’re worried about.”
“No, it’s not that. It’s just- I like you. Like really like you. And Wynter figured that out. So she probably told Addison who set up this whole fake study group plan to get me to actually talk to you instead of just ignoring you.”
You felt a million butterflies beginning to flow through you as your face lit up at Willa’s confession. Even though you had only known her a few days, you felt this pull towards her. It was unlike anything you’ve ever felt before. And to know that she felt the same way! It was indescribable. You felt like you were floating.
“I really like you too Willa.”
For the first time ever, you saw Willa smile. You could feel your heart racing as you interlocked her hands with yours. Her touch was electric. Everything felt magical. So what if she was a werewolf and you were a human. None of that mattered. Especially not in Seabrook. This was the most freeing town you’ve ever lived in. And you had a really strong feeling that you were going to love it here.

Hiii I heard u have some sally face brainrot... welcome to the club. Anyways, I was wondering if I could request some sal x reader headcanons where him and the reader were friends before the incident, drifted apart but later reunited and became a couple?? something like that. Thanks !!
Hello, anon! Thanks for welcoming me into the club, and for feeding my brainrot TwT - I really liked your request, and I'm changing some things in the canon after the incident because Sally deserves a happy ending, dammit >:(
I had to explain some things and stuff, but I like how it came out <3 (bestie help I reached the character limit TWICE with this)
TW: cult stuff, character death (Larry), panic attacks briefly mentioned || GN!Reader x Sal Fisher
NEXT PART
BEFORE:
You guys met in high school, a bit after the bologna incident, you were already friends with Larry and the gang, but not nearly as close to them as they were to each other. Honestly you always found the Addison Apartments to be creepy, so you tried not to go there too much.
When Sally moved in and school started again, you went to introduce yourself, noticing the picture of Gizmo he was going to hang on his locker, and complimenting the cat and his taste in bands.
After that you guys ended up talking more, especially because you had English and History together, and lunch period too. A month after that, he invited you to his apartment, to meet his cat in person, and to hang out with him and Larry.
It was then that you found out about everything, the cult, the whole ghosts thing and how lots of stuff was connected. You knew there was something wrong with Nockfell, but not to that degree.
They reassured you that they were taking care of it, and you tried to not freak out the best you could. Your parents didn’t interact with many people in the city, both working in cities nearby, and travelling for work a lot, so you didn’t think they knew about any of that stuff.
You started going to visit more often, meeting Megan and ending up friends with the little ghost, which made you believe everything Sal told you even more, not that you would doubt them, seeing the weird basement was enough to believe every word. She even let you take a picture of her, with the promise that you don’t show it to anyone.
Apart from that, your friendship was really like any other, with you guys spending time playing video games together and listening to metal. You were starting to develop a crush on the blue haired boy, his sense of humour was similar to yours and, despite what people at school said, he was very sweet.
At some point, you started to notice him acting differently around you, he’d stutter a bit if you came too close, and you could swear you saw his ears getting pink whenever you complimented him on anything, be it his clothes or a good grade on a hard test.
His eye would linger on you a bit longer than normal when you guys would hang out, and you started to notice Larry snickering when you passed by them. You both seemed to have feelings for each other, it was only a matter of time before one of you would make a move.
Five months into your friendship, Sally showed you his face. You had never really insisted that he shows it to you, and that’s probably what got him comfortable. You guys were both chilling in his room, Larry was spending the weekend with his mom at his grandma’s house, so you guys were alone.
Sal asked you if it was okay for him to take his mask off, and asked you to look away for a second, before telling you you could look. You just smiled at him and went back to the game you guys were playing, and he felt a weight being lifted from his shoulders.
It was a few weeks after finals that you received the news, your parents decided to move to a different city, telling you just as summer vacations started. You had to say goodbye to the gang and, even though you tried to keep in contact, it seemed like none of your letters got to them, always being sent back with the envelope ripped apart.
As time passed, you ended up moving on, finishing high school in your new city and making some new friends. But you never managed to forget your friends in Nockfell, and soon enough, you were starting college.
THE RESOLUTION:
It was a year and a few months after you started college that you saw the news. At first, you couldn’t believe what you were seeing. Sally was never a bad person, and he wouldn’t do something like that… unless it was absolutely necessary.
You watched the whole trial, and all of the interviews, Sally looked terrible, his voice was rough and he seemed to be on the verge of tears most of the time.
As you watched your high school friend talk about everything that happened, you started to remember it better, and, just as college vacations started, Sal Fisher was declared guilty. They sentenced him to death, and nothing anyone said helped with the case.
Suddenly, you remembered something you’ve never let go of. Something that would definitely prove Sal’s innocence. You searched for the old website listing Megan and her mom’s death, getting as many pictures of the little girl as you could, and started digging around on your own stuff, finding the picture you were looking for.
The old polaroid, a bit faded with time, showed you, Sal and Megan, the little girl smiling excitedly for the picture, at her old apartment at Addison’s. You uploaded it to your computer and your phone, scared that the physical thing would somehow disappear, and headed to Nockfell for the first time in years.
It took you some time to find the exact place he was sent to while he waited for the execution day, but you managed it. You also found Neil’s address, heading there as soon as you could, and telling him you had a way to help. Ash was there too, and she seemed anxious to see you.
you told them about your plan, showing them the picture and earning a gasp from Ash, who hadn’t managed to see any ghosts until then. She mentioned something about Larry and left in a hurry, taking a Sanity’s Fall CD and a record player with her.
She came back hours later, with a picture of a translucent Larry, looking older and more tired than you remembered, before telling you guys about the tree house and how she burned it down.
You guys go to the authorities, showing them the pictures. They try to dismiss you, but the press is still lingering around trying to interview Sally, so they manage to get the pictures from you guys and interview you about it. You say everything you know, showing the pictures and explaining most of it.
It goes live, and so the cult is unable to actually stop you from showing the pictures of Megan, Larry, the cultist space in the basement of Addison’s Apartments, and all you guys learned about this cult. It was very risky, and you knew people from the cult were going to go after you, but you didn’t care about that, you wanted to help Sally out.
People that had weird experiences with the cult, the family of those kids that were killed all those years ago, and a few people from Nockfell, come forward with their experiences, and it ends up working. People that believe in the supernatural start looking into it more, and a second trial is opened after the insistence of the public.
Now, with all the pieces of the puzzle put together, you guys manage to bring to light the whole situation with the cult in Nockfell, and the government can’t ignore it anymore. Sally’s second trial goes smoothly and, after a testimony from Travis as someone from the cult, he’s finally free.

You were drawn in by the colors and the sound of people enjoying themselves beyond the windows and open entryway. A gentle bird was standing at the counter. They greeted you with a short bow and pushed their multicolored glasses back up their beak as they offered a soft smile.
“Welcome to the Color Cafe,” They hummed in a low tone that comforted you, “let us warm your day.” The cafe was warm and smelled like sweetened coffee. You moved further inside out of curiosity. The bird had a crisp suit on that you can see better now that they have stepped out from behind the counter to offer you a hand. You have not seen this place before and it must be a bit obvious you were unsure what to do.
“Allow me to assist you, young master. I am Swatch. I am happy to assist you.” Swatch introduced himself cordially as he brought you to a seat at the bar a few seats away from a couple other patrons. You sat at the bar and folded your hands. Other bird-like beings wandered in the background, taking meals to tables and cleaning things. They were all very muscular and dressed in crisp suits. One took Swatch’s place at the front counter so Swatch could join you in the dining area and make your first time visiting enjoyable.
“We have plenty of delicious treats to choose from. I recommend macaroons, personally. But we make everything to perfection.” He gave you a moment to think while he attended to the other customers. A table of colorful people sat behind you and a pair of cyan men sat on the far side of the bar. You were left to yourself for a moment to view a menu and decide what you might like. Though the lively conversation behind you made it hard to focus.
They were laughing together about deals and sales. They were enjoying themselves and their fun was somewhat contagious. It made you feel nice to be around them. Knowing that people are having a good time uplifts your spirits. You scanned over the menu finding it hard to choose what you wanted. It all sounded so good.
You hummed and quirked your head each way while deciding. It must have been noticeable as Swatch returned soon after and caught your attention.
“Why don’t we start with a drink, young master. We have many things to choose from. Butler Juice is our specialty if you’d like a taste.” Swatch offered.
“They have a great selection of teas too. Provided by yours truly~” A person from the table behind you chimed in, sounding very proud of themselves. You glanced over your shoulder at them curiously.
“If you’re looking for suggestions, absolutely the Own-Flavored Tea.” They agreed with each other and chattered again. Swatch softly sighed, but he made no other indication of his annoyance. You weren’t sure which you preferred. Tea is nice, but the Butler Juice was a curiosity you couldn’t pass up.
“We haven’t seen you around before. Are you new here?”
“I believe this is their first visit to the cafe. I never forget one of our lovely patrons.” You nodded in agreement with Swatch. There was a small moment of conversation between the colorful people before they opened their arms to you. A welcome to the new Lightener. You were surprised at first, blinking in disbelief at them.
“C’mon! We’ll take care of your tab tonight. Try whatever you want!”
“I’m Blue. This is Yellow, Pink, and Orange.” Blue said as he moved aside to give you room to sit with them. You took a seat with them, learning that they’re Addisons and they were all the owners of the stores in Cyber City. They had interesting things to say, but Swatch was still at the table waiting for your drink order.
“How about one of each, huh? A tea and a juice.” Yellow beamed.
“Please.” Pink added after him. Swatch took a note and gave you a nod before he left to get your drinks. You weren’t sure you wanted two drinks, but it was nice of the Addisons to treat you. It made you feel nice and welcome. Being a Lightener in the Dark World made you wonder if they would even want you around. But they were so nice.
The Addisons had many fun stories to tell about customers they had seen and time they had together. You listened to the stories intently. They had met so many interesting people and they seemed to be such good friends. You were glad to be included.
Swatch came back with your drinks and left them on the table for you. Before he could even ask what you might want to eat, the Addisons made their orders and offered to share all their different treats and meals with you. Swatch did hang back for a moment to make sure that’s what you wanted. You let him know that you were okay with it and he hurried off to get all of those for you.
“Try the tea! The flavor is based on you. That’s why it’s “Own-Flavored” hahah.” Pink was practically sparkling. The tea was pretty tasty. A light, floral taste with a hint of mint. You enjoyed it, but it wasn’t anything to write home about. The Butler Juice was really good, though. It was some indescribable mixture of juices you couldn’t quite pinpoint, but you could tell it was lovingly made. The care taken to make it was palpable. You downed the Butler Juice in no time. Pink was a little hurt. Orange comforted Pink by patting his shoulder. Blue and Yellow breathed short laughs. They decided to hop topics before Pink could sink too much in the rejection.
“Have you had a chance to explore the city yet?” Blue asked. You shook your head and sipped at the remaining tea. The group all clamored some comments on the city. They were fond of the place and couldn’t believe you hadn’t checked it out first.
“We can show you around on our way back to work, if you want.” Orange said.
“Or you can ask Swatch,” Blue hummed, “I think he could use a moment away from the cafe.”
“Or a Swatchling might! No reason they couldn’t give you a quick tour.” Yellow added excitedly. They tried to flag one down but Orange grabbed his wrist and put his hand down, shaking his head.
“Queen might need Swatch while he’s out, he probably wouldn’t be keen on stepping away.” Pink muttered.
“Our Lady Grace is preoccupied today. I believe I am free if the young master would like a tour.” Swatch said as he placed all their food down on the table and curtly bowed, adjusting his glasses once more. You were a little nervous at the prospect. You didn’t really want to get in anyone’s way. They reassured you that you weren’t bothering any of them with Swatch making a professional statement about serving you, aiding with whatever you might need.
If the Addisons were going back to work anyway, walking with them made the most sense. If you want to see beyond the city proper and around the castle, you should go with Swatch. You needed some time to make a decision. Luckily, now that the food was here, you could focus on that for a little bit. Everything smelled very fresh. It looked like a treasure trove of glistening jewels. The butter in mid-melt on the bread, the jam in some of the pastries was thick and full of fruit chunks, the pasta was… ribbons? Your mouth was watering either way.
Swatch didn’t step away this time. He decided to engage in conversation with the Addisons, sticking around for your decision. You notice that the other two patrons had left and it was just your table in the cafe. Slow night, maybe?
Everyone dug into the food, taking macaroons and helpings of spaghetti onto their plates so everyone had a chance to eat a bit of everything. It was a wonder! You loved everything you tried! The butlers put their all into this and you could easily tell. You were making many noises of delight that made Swatch grin and the Addisons laugh. It was still so lively. Swatch was also enjoying himself, a fact the Addisons liked to note as if it were a new thing. You went along with it, glad that everyone was having fun.
“We better hurry or we’ll be late.” Orange said, packing their things into a satchel. The others were a little upset they had to leave, but they gathered their things and climbed out of the booth.
“It was nice meeting ya!” Yellow cheered.
“Did you decide if you wanted to come with us?” Blue asked. You climbed out of the booth. You hadn’t made up your mind yet. You told them you needed another moment, but you knew you didn’t have much time. The Addisons paid off their tab while you and Swatch headed to the door.
“No matter your choice, young master, you can always visit the cafe again. I can show you the castle now or when you return. There is no rush.” Swatch said, tidying the front counter. You thought about that and smiled. It helped you make your decision. The Addisons met you and Swatch at the door to Color Cafe and you told them your decision. You would go with them tonight and return to the cafe another time. This way you get to spend time with both of them. They find your decision amusing and agree, sweeping you out the door with their group. You give a hasty farewell to Swatch as you leave.
“I’ll be waiting for you with rose-tinted glasses.” He chuckled after you.
The Addisons led you out of the castle and towards the main street of Cyber City. There were a lot of people walking along the streets. All of them were interesting looking. A syringe faced person chased down an angular little imp that appeared to be floating rather than running away from them. A low and constant rush of cars rumbled in the distance. The traffic in the city never stopped.
“Here’s my store.” Yellow trotted ahead to his darkened storefront, the windows and sign lighting up as he took his place and waved to you and the Addisons, “this street is pretty out of the way, so you might not see me unless we hit the cafe again. Until then, see ya!” Yellow split off from the group and you waved at him as the group walked away. The street was definitely off an odd turn that would make it hard to find Yellow’s store. You hoped you wouldn’t forget he was here.
“Ah, mine is up next. It isn’t the most interesting store, but I have a lot of time to visit.” Orange was the next one to split off, taking his spot at his advertisement stand selling advertisements. The sign overhead flared to life and he wore the most customer service smile you had seen. You could assume selling advertisements was more of an internal business. People outside the Addisons would probably not need them.
“Oh! Wait here! Don’t run off yet!” Pink ran off to the tea shop and started brewing new tea for the night. He offered you more samples of the tea, this time offering flavors of the Addisons so you could see what else the tea had to offer. They smelled vastly different compared to the somewhat mediocre tea your own flavor had. It made it easier to accept the samples which made Pink very happy. He gave you a very excited farewell.
Blue walked the rest of the way with you, ending the tour at his storefront. A set of little mannequins wearing dresses sat behind the glass doors behind Blue and he unlocked the doors before turning to you.
“I suppose our tour ends here. It’s a good place. People are nice here and Queen is pretty tolerable, all things considered. It was really nice meeting you.” Blue smiled, stepping into the store. The city was already beginning to twinkle and shine as it hit peak internet hours. You hadn’t realized how long you were in the cafe. You met so many nice people. You were excited to see what else the city might have to offer. It made you excited for your tour with Swatch. Perhaps you’d get back to the castle to get it started right away.
You wandered back to the castle with an excited bounce in your step. It was a nice day. You were glad you decided to visit the Color Cafe.

What about lighteners are the Addisons most fascinated with? Do you think their human s/o stretches one day and their Addison spots their belly button and loses their mind?
A/N: I’m just imagining doing something Completely Normal and everyone goes batshit
Addisons fascinated by human lightener S/O
Pink Addison
They’d be the most surprised about your teeth and mouth
Meat isn’t a super huge food in the cyber world so most darkners don’t have any sharp teeth at all
The moment you make a toothy smile at them, they’re freaking out
Immediately asks you to open your mouth for a bit and is amazed at your canines
Asks all kinds of food related questions after that
What are the different teeth for, what do lightners tend to eat on the surface world, etc etc
Asks you to make the same foods that you usually ate back in the light world
Silently pouts when you tell him you can’t (or you just don’t want to)
Blue Addison
They’re the most surprised about the popping joints tbh
They didn’t know lightners could do that at all so the first time you cracked your neck around them, they just about thought you’d died
You have to take an hour to explain to them that you’re fine and that cracking joints (usually) don’t hurt
Doesn’t matter how many times you’ve done it around them, they always get scared
Even after you tell them that it’s okay, they still go and search it up just to make sure
Never asks you to stop because they still find it fascinating, if a bit worrying
Orange Addison
They’d be the most surprised at the flexibility of most people
And if you’re extra flexible? They’re in absolute awe
Asks you to do random things like put your knees up to your chest or ears
Tries to copy you when they’re alone because it’s so strange to watch
Unfortunately, most Addisons are incredibly stiff and can’t bend more than they need to
After he finds out how people can normally move like that, they discover the wonderful world of contortionists
They’re amazed and horrified
Yellow Addison
They love hearing about all the weird and gross things the human body can do
“When you get sick your body actively tries to kill the virus by nearly killing you??” “WHAT DO YOU MEAN STOMACH ACID IS STRONG ENOUGH TO MELT METAL??!”
Is gonna do so much research on all the weird facts about the human body, they’re eventually gonna know more than you do
Tells you anything they find in hopes of grossing you out (affectionately)
Tends to ask you why your body does certain things or what it’s for
Makes backhanded compliments a lot, i.e. “awww babe even if your weird internal organs are constantly moving around I still love you” you’re so tempted to hit him sometimes
Spamton
Fascinated at the different body parts themselves
Addisons don’t have many actual organs inside their body, let alone anything majorly organic
So when spammy learns that humans are just only full of fleshy bits and nothing cybernetic at all, he’s asking so many questions
Thinks the appendix is the weirdest part of the body
Even after you explain that we used to need it and just don’t need to anymore, he still things it’s weird
“You just have a [Time is ticking down! For a limited time only!] bomb in your body???? That you don’t use???”
Likes to just hold you, he thinks you’re soft and warm
If you let him just lay on you without moving he passes out every time

Guilt in Jealousy
Summary: Just some hurt/comfort stuff with Pink Addison, who still feels terrible about the whole ordeal with Spamton and Lightner!Reader (who they're romantically involved with) trying to help them with their guilt once Reader realizes what's happening.
........
The long descent into the Dark World was something you'd probably never get used to.
No matter how many times you've done this, your stomach always flips on itself as you fell down, down, down into the darkness. Although you did get accustomed to your normal clothes changing into an outfit more suitable for your travels and type of combat.
Yet you didn't deem it necessary for combat anymore, as you weren't looking to pick any fights. At least not today. You'll skip the sparring matches in the Party Dojo since you had a different mission in mind.
Once you landed on your feet, you didn't waste any more time as you rushed forward into Castle Town. It was bigger and livelier than ever, now with the combined residents of not one but two Dark Worlds.
Despite their homes and businesses being ripped away so abruptly, the Cyber Darkners adjusted to their circumstances fast. It was all thanks to you, Kris, and the others for recruiting them here, not wanting to repeat the mistake of leaving Card World's residents alone after sealing the fountain.
You wandered around, eager to find your partner: Pink Addison. Surely that charismatic salesman was bound to be somewhere, likely looking for you, too.
Though..seeing their tea shop closed was the first sign that something was amiss.
When you last came here to visit the Addisons' residence for the first time, Pink wasn't as "lovey-dovey" as they normally were with you. They just gave you a kiss as usual, but didn't talk to you much, which was concerning. Bringing that up only made them dismiss it as nerves over helping Swatch in the Color Café selling teas, but you knew it wasn't like them to be nervous--especially when they've been selling this product for as long as they've existed.
Maybe it was just the rarity of Darkners falling in love with Lightners that still intimidated them. It wasn't a bad thing; no laws nor prophecies have such relationships written as forbidden. But a few Darkners still had the habit of treating your kind like untouchable gods, not speaking unless spoken to and being fearful of abandonment.
Addisons especially felt this way considering the products they sold were made to appeal to Lightners' online interests. Their whole existence revolved around approval from Lightners.
To deviate from that would, in their eyes, stop the clicks.
You reassured Pink they didn't have to worry about that with you, but even now they still struggled to stop putting you on a pedestal. They always kept talks with you short and sweet, all smiles as if nothing's wrong. And they'd always shower you with gifts. It's their best form of affection, of course, though you realized they're giving you everything except their honest feelings. And that's what worries you.
Their acts became more obvious ever since you encountered them and the other Addisons at the trash dump of Cyber City, speaking of an old ex-friend. None of them even showed you their face, only staring at the wall with their backs turned.
At the time you didn't question it as you assumed they just felt ashamed of their actions towards him. You couldn't blame them. You wouldn't wanna look anyone in the eye either. So you didn't bring it up around Pink until later on, when the Addisons arrived to Castle Town.
You told them that their friend is okay, comfortably living as a part of Kris' armor. They understood and were able to move on, going back to their usual advertising business.
Except for one, unfortunately: The one you love most.
Ever since that talk, Pink seemed more determined than ever to hide their guilt, always making some excuse and avoiding the subject at all costs.
Well, you weren't going to take that anymore. You wanted to come to an understanding before this divided the relationship further. You're certain even Pink can see that, but is scared to say anything for some reason.
First, you had to actually find them.
Checking the café, you saw it was bustling with mainly Cyber residents. Swatchlings were sweeping the floors as Rabbicks sat on their shoulders collecting lint, and the Tasques and Maice were getting along quite well, meowing and squeaking idly.
Alas, there was no sign of your partner. But you didn't give up yet as you walked up to the counter. "Hey, Swatch. You got a second?"
"Welcome back, young master." The head butler finished cleaning a glass, smiling at you in greeting. "How may I help you?"
"Have you seen Pink around lately?"
"Strangely, I have not seen them all day. They were suppose to bring me tea boxes when we opened, but I have yet to receive any. We're running quite low on our popular bran-"
You were both rudely interrupted by a Werewerewire storming up to the counter, slamming their fists on the surface as they buzzed with impatience. You flinched slightly, but didn't dare call them out on their behavior, knowing their temperament.
Somehow Swatch understood their request, only to regretfully nod. "I do apologize, but we are currently out of Werewire Tea. Could I interest you in a substi....oh, they're leaving." The electrical creature left the café, annoyed.
"Werewire Tea?" You tilted your head.
"It's their favorite." Swatch shifted their gaze back to you. "Tastes like energy drinks according to Pink. But back to our discussion...it is unusual for them not to show up, especially when this is their livelihood. Perhaps they're not feeling up to par?"
"That's what I'm worried about. They're acting emotionally distant, too, and...I feel like something from their past is still haunting them."
"Hm, well whatever it is..I have faith you two will sort it out. I would check their place of residence next. I'm not in dire need of tea, so you can tell Pink not to worry about it today."
"Alrighty, I will." You smiled at Swatch. "Thanks."
"Of course, young master. Take care."
Heeding their advice, you decided to check the Addisons' shared home. It was in one of the neighborhoods deeper within the town, resembling a large storefront with electronic ads all over it. With all the flashing lights it was impossible to miss.
The passcode to enter was one that only Addison-related Darkners were meant to know, but Pink was nice enough to give it to you. So you inputted the numbers 1997 and invited yourself inside upon hearing the door unlock.
"Hello?" You called out, wondering if anyone else was home, though the silence made you worried Pink wasn't here.
You ventured further anyway and eventually came across their room. All of the Addisons had color-coded doors, with your partner's having hearts etched into the pink painted wood.
The second you raised a hand to knock, the door swung open and you saw your beloved Addison in their usual suit and lime green pants. Though you noticed their suit was unbuttoned and looked horribly wrinkled, not to mention their ponytail wasnt up at all, leaving their hair unkempt.
Usually they obsessed over looking their best, so something was clearly wrong.
"I-I'm so sorry! I must've overslept! Oh jeez oh man I need to get these teas to Swatch ASAP-!" They rambled a mile a minute as they scrambled to steady the boxes in their hands, only to pause as they felt two hands on their shoulders.
"Pink, it's me. Calm down."
It took them a moment to realize you weren't an Addison, and they sighed tiredly, their shoulders relaxing a little. "O-Oh..hey, sweetheart. Wanna help me get these teas to-?"
"Swatch doesn't need them today. I just wanna talk to you."
Despite Pink's eyes being closed, you could see they were struggling to keep them shut--a sign of great stress. "Talk? What's....there to talk about? Except the sweet deals I'm gonna make today??"
"How about we talk..about the fact you've been avoiding me and not being honest about your feelings? Especially about that day?"
"...right..I...I know and I'm sorry, but I can make it up to you! W-With a free sample of my new and improved-!"
"Pink, I'm not drinking any more of your teas until you tell me what's wrong."
A sharp gasp escaped them as their eyes snapped open in shock. A box unconsciously slipped out of their grasp, but you caught it and took the rest from their hands. The last thing they needed was to stress over dropped tea boxes.
As much as you hated to say that, you had no choice. It was the only way they'll listen to you.
"Hun..look at yourself. You look exhausted and anxious. Don't tell me it's because of work because we both know that's not it at all. I wanna know the truth. You're not fooling me again."
After a few moments, they wordlessly nodded and went back into their room. You shut the door behind you and set the tea boxes on one of the chairs, though you heard a sniffle.
"O-Okay..okay..keep it together, Pink.."
You looked back to see them curled up on their bed, covering their face with their hands. Now their shoulders were trembling with small whimpers, and they shrank away from you as they sensed you sitting beside them.
"I-I'm sorry..I'm so sorry..I shouldn't be like this at all. N-Not in front of a beautiful Light neR like yourself." Their voice was glitching slightly, though not to the degree of Spamton's. But they were still very stressed out.
"Hey, it's okay. It's nothing to be ashamed of." You gently pulled their hands away from their face, your heart breaking upon seeing the tears. Some slid onto their nose and dripped off the tip of it, splattering onto their pants. Their messy bangs did little to hide their eyes--voids with tiny pink lights that shimmered with those same tears.
Only now you can see just what a mess they were behind closed doors. It made you wish you've been more persistent in the past, but at least now you were.
"Will you hate me if I told you the truth..about him?"
"No, never." Cupping one side of their face with your hand, you made sure they knew your response was genuine. "Please talk to me."
"Okay...to be honest..It..wasn't just all of us who decided to stop hanging out with him. It was me. I made that call." They confessed, squeezing their eyes shut. "I-I told him "you left us in the dust", "you don't need us", "you'll find better friends." But when Blue..s-said he went missing a month later, I thought I screwed up. I thought he died, [y/n]! I thought that for years. I feel like I played a part in destroying his life. It was my fault..my stupidity and jealousy that ruined everything for him!! I hurt him so much and...and I can NEVER take any of it back!! I-I hurt him, lied to you..a-and...god why do I keep doing stupid things to people I care about?!!" They began to yell and tremble.
Seeing them at their breaking point, you brought them into a hug. And that's all it took as they buried their face into your chest. Their cries were quiet and muffled against you, but it wasn't any less heartbreaking to hear.
"It's alright..shhh..let it all out." You comforted, running a hand through their hair.
It didn't take them long to break down, and to see them reduced to this much of an emotional wreck ached your SOUL. But now you understood why they wanted to hide this side of themselves for this long. They didn't want you to see them as anything more than a salesman with romantic marketing strategies.
"I-I'm sorry...I'm such an idiot. H-Had I known...I never..I never would'a-"
"Darling, it wasn't your fault that his life went downhill. Nobody could've known that was gonna happen to him. You didn't make his business fail. So it's not your fault at all."
"That doesn't..ch-change the fact we weren't there for him when he needed us most. Why did I have to get so jealous? Why me? I-I feel awful and sick.."
"Jealousy isn't good, yes..but it's more common than you think. It can get the best of many people, even me." You rubbed their back. "What matters is how you feel after it blows over. Either it consumes you and turns you into someone hateful, or you feel guilty about it and realize it's wrong..like you are now."
"S-So..I'm not awful?" They mumbled into your chest, still sobbing.
"No, and you're certainly not an idiot."
You could feel Pink relax slightly as they hugged your waist, nuzzling into you once they realized you're not angry at them. At this point, you two were just cuddling on the bed together with them on top of you.
As you looked at them, you could only imagine how long they must've been waiting for someone to come down here and tell them that.
It's what they deserved to hear. They helped heal your physical wounds from fights when you first met them in the city, flustering you with flirtatious remarks that made your days brighter. Now you were returning the favor by being a shoulder--or chest in this case--for them to cry on, helping them heal their emotional wounds from an inner struggle they've tried burying under smiles and funny advertisements.
For a few minutes no words were exchanged until they slowly started calming down. "I'm..sorry for avoiding you. I just..didn't think you'd love me anymore after hearing the truth. That I made such a stupid, silly mistake."
"I know you were afraid, but... I forgive you and still love you. Absolutely nothing in this Dark World will ever stop me from loving you, hun."
"..h-hah..usually I'm the one with the cheesy romantic lines." They looked up at you with their eyes closed. "Thank you for listening..I-I promise I won't let this whole thing drag me down again. And...sorry I'm such a mess. You have your own worries and shouldn't have to see me like-"
But you shut them up with a kiss on the lips, which made them blush as you pulled away and smiled. "Pink, relationships are a two-way street. I care about your feelings just as much as you care about mine. We're equals now, remember that."
They nodded and snuggled up to you. "I'll try...you mind if we stayed like this for a while? I feel like I owe you TLC big time." They planted a soft kiss on your neck.
"I'm fine with that." You chuckled, relieved that they opened up to you and finally started treating you like a partner.
You couldn't erase all of their guilt, but you'll help them cope with it better.
For now though you'll just enjoy this moment.

Addison Montgomery x Reader
A/N: pink scrubs supremacy (and i just realized just right before posting this that kate likes pink lol). mentioned a name for reader once.
Tumblr media
Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi’ the sun;
I will love thee still, my dear,
While the sands o’ life shall run.
Why do I keep receiving this? Addison thought. It has been a month since Addison started receiving pink notes containing poems daily, and it's literally everywhere. She mostly sees it pasted on her locker, or on her desk in her office. Sometimes, she gets some from the nurses, but they wouldn't tell her who this anonymous sender is (she has threatened them a couple of times, actually). During the third week, the interns also tried to give her these notes whenever they "accidentally" met in the hallway. She also tried to threaten each one of them to spill the beans, but she guessed they were close enough not to snitch on that person.
She isn't a fan of poems, but she knows some, and is intrigued by this romanticist or someone. The sender made sure they wouldn't be easily tracked, because the poems sent to her were all printed. However, she mostly ignored the notes, but she cannot deny the spark of excitement and curiosity she feels every time. She doesn't feel young and loved again, really, she doesn't. She also made a mental list of the possible suspects, but paid no attention not until someone unexpectedly gave her one.
Miranda Bailey. Her interest piqued when Miranda gave her one after the surgery she did on a patient. How did they even managed to convince the Nazi on this scheme? It was a sight, Miranda acted disgusted, yet grinning when she handed it to Addison. Now she's eager to know this person.
It's already the third day of her not receiving a poem like she used to, and having absolutely no clue why and who's sending it to her. She hates to admit it but she definitely misses reading one before starting her day. She's upset, and it clearly showed on how she was treating the staff, ten times worse than the usual Satan. While walking to go check on the patient she operated on a few days ago when she already visited them before lunch (she's not killing time to think about the admirer), she didn't notice Derek coming outside his office.
Derek asked if she's okay after they bumped. Addison simply nodded. She immediately walked away from him but he tried to stop her. He gave her a pink sealed envelope, told her he was about to find her and was lucky that they met in the hallway, and winked at her. Only one person would give her something in pink stationery. Last time, it was Miranda, and now, Derek? At this point, she thinks everyone knows who the person is except her.
When she checked the back, it read "Read this somewhere privately, please". It was written neatly, which surprised her. It was the first time the mystery person revealed their handwriting. However, she now knows why they chose not to reveal it until this day.
She had never walked so fast in her entire life after she received the letter. She sure catched some attention when she did. She looked like she wanted to run, but managed to control herself in front of the staff and patients. She plans to read it in her office. No one would dare bother her inside unless it's very important, and she already made sure she's not needed for at least a few hours.
When she reached her office, she immediately went to her desk and did not take much time to rummage through her files to find the medical notes containing both her handwriting and yours. She compared it just to confirm her hunch, and she's right. Your writing was a little bit messy on the notes, but it was surely similar to the one on the envelope. Now, she found you, and the easiest way to talk to you about this whole secret thing.
You were finishing a sandwich together with Meredith and Cristina when your pager beeped. Those two know what you feel about Addison, which is why they helped you with this idea of giving her poems in a pink sticky note. They would also help you paste the printed texts in the small paper and convince almost everyone in the hospital to give it to her when they see her. They said you should also give her one from time to time so she would not raise suspicions.
You didn't want it at first, because that would mean everyone knowing how you feel about your mentor, but they told you it was fine. They would discover it sooner or later so why not reveal it now?
When the plan took place, you felt sad whenever she ignored the notes. You don't see her throw it away, but it kind of feels that she does because you haven't seen her trying to discover who you are. In reality, you just don't want to believe the nurses' and your friends' statements about how Addison is more radiant after receiving them, and more agitated every time she doesn't get any hint about your identity. It's true, Addison tried to ask you about it when you gave her one, but you shrugged it off and shifted the topic to something else.
That's exactly the reason why Cristina took the drastic measure and asked George to convince Miranda to ride on this stunt because she already knew what was going on. Cristina hates your in denial ass so she thought of this idea to convince you that the plan is working.
Miranda instantly refused on the first attempts George made, because of how messy the whole attending-intern thing is. You, of all people, should know that. You're friends with those people, not to mention that the one you like was the ex-wife of the boyfriend of your friend. She later on agreed (because it was for you, plus points that George asked her to do so). You almost did not believe Dr. Bailey when she told you that Addison looked so thrilled when she received the note from her, but one of the nurses who witnessed the whole thing confirmed that it really happened.
You were actually considering that maybe, you should probably reveal yourself to her and make things clear about how you really feel about her.  The same night, you started writing a letter where you poured every emotion you feel whenever she's around or not, that you probably cannot say directly to the woman. You spent two days on writing it because you find it hard to express yourself through words. Meredith asked Derek to give Addison the letter for you, and he agreed.
It was an understatement to say you were nervous when you saw it was Addison who paged you. You knew she would immediately recognize it was you, as you always ask for her guidance (and that includes exchanging medical notes), but not this quick.
You assume Derek is just about to give her the letter, so you grab a sandwich because you haven't eaten your lunch yet, and you thought you still have time before she talks to you. You almost dropped the last few bites of the sandwich when you checked your pager. The two noticed this and quickly pushed you out of the room, mouthing some good luck while raising their hands for encouragement.
Taking every step towards her office feels heavier as the distance is getting shorter. Instinctively, you smoothed out your scrubs and fixed your appearance before knocking on the door. You didn't hear her response, so you just turned the knob and entered the den of Satan.
You were greeted with an Addison sitting on her chair, with her arms leaning on the desk, looking and playing with the letter on her both hands. She's wearing the pink scrub suit, which was your favorite and the one where you can't take your eyes off when she wears it.
She raised her head to meet your eyes, and to acknowledge your presence. You were flustered with the sudden eye contact, so you let your gaze wander around her office to avoid the intense stare she was giving you.
She offered the seat in front of her desk, but you were reluctant to accept it and sit. You chose what you think would be appropriate at the time, and that would be sitting on the chair.
"So, would you mind explaining this," motioning the letter on her left hand, "to me?" she asks. She would lie if she says she's not enjoying the view in front of her. You were about to crumble in front of her, with you looking at the ground, face being red, and embarrassed.
"I asked you a question, Nile."
If someone were to ask you to rate this experience on how much you regretted the whole plan you executed just for you to melt in her gaze at her office and how much you wanted to escape now, it would go off scale. This is terrible. You felt like a child being interrogated and was about to get scolded for being a bad girl.
"I'm sorry, Dr. Montgomery," is what you wanted to say, but you chose to feign ignorance and just shrugged your shoulders and sheepishly smiled.
"Oh," she says grinning, "So you're going to act like this?" She stood up from her chair, and began moving away from that spot.
"You know what?" She asked, "This is unnecessary," she noted, throwing away your letter. You were sad because it felt like she disregarded the fact that you like her—and all the papers wasted and the sleep you never had for days after tons of going back and forth with your decision resulting in rewriting that letter a hundred times.
She slowly walks towards you, adding that extra sway on her hips, as if intentionally making your eyes gaze down. You did not notice the smirk she had on her face when you fell into her trap, making you swallow a non-existent bump in your throat.
She leaned her hands on both armrests. She whispers,  "You've already stolen my heart from the moment you entered my life," while gradually closing the distance between your faces, almost making your lips touch.
"You could have just told me that right to my face instead of teasing me with your little poems, you cheesy intern," She joked. She continues, "Though I must admit I wasn't that surprised when I found out it was you. This is something you would definitely do to win a girl's heart," giggling at how silly you look. Dumbfounded, wide eyes, and your face down to your neck is like a red canvas. You are about to explode right now that you can't even utter a single word to her.
I mean who can blame you? That was the closest distance you had with Addison. You always keep a fair one from her because you think she only considers you as an intern who would love to be in OB, and you fear she would catch on to your crush on her.
Contented with your reaction, she walked away from you to leave the room to check on her patient, and stopped when she opened the door to turn around. "And you actually did." She vouched, winking before closing the door and leaving you alone in her office.
You were still processing what had just happened, and you don't know if you really heard Addison right. You almost fainted when you realized she already read the letter—worse is she even used a line you've written inside of it.

DELTARUNE CHAPTER 2 SPOILERS!!
spamton x reader
You swiftly made your way out of the mansion for the day with a smile on your face. Hm.. It wouldn’t hurt to stop by the tea shop on the way back, would it? A nice treat. Ah, The Addisons. Had the best products money could buy. Though, none could top Mr. Spamton’s sales. He went missing years ago, however.
The smile on your face diminished as you thought about it. You were fairly close to him, when he lived in the mansion. There were two head butlers, you and Swatch. You both managed Color Cafe and ordered the Swatchlings around, as well as attending to Queen’s bidding. Both of you had been fairly busy as of late, with the lightners arrival.
You almost didn’t even realize that you had arrived at your destination, enveloped in your thoughts. Tea.. that’s right. Mayhaps you should pick up some cake as well.
“Good evening, [Name]! To what do I owe the pleasure of pleasing the head butler?” Pink greeted.
“Hello, Pink! I’ve come to pick up some tea and maybe some cake.” You smiled at him.
“And I thought I told you that my status doesn’t affect anything outside of work. You don’t have to make such a big deal out of it.” You sighed.
“Keep telling yourself that, but you’re much more important than you may think.” Pink said.
“Yeah, yeah, I get it.” You huffed.
“Anywho, got any new tea flavors?” You asked.
“I do indeed! Believe it or not, four new flavors have been shipped in with the arrival of the lightners. Kris, Susie, Ralsei and Noelle.” Pink said.
“Hm.. Noelle sounds good. Queen’s peon, I believe. She’s a delight.” You hummed.
Pink prepared your tea as you talked about her.
“Always talking about that Susie girl. Ah, young love. It’s refreshing, to say the least.” You smiled.
Pink hummed in agreement. “And did you want any cake?”
“Oh, yes, of course, just give me the usual flavor.” You said.
“She’s so timid but when she speaks her mind, it’s a sight to see. She’s so sweet, especially to Birdley. Which.. I find it a bit complexing based on their relations.” You continued on.
“I see. Here’s your items.” Pink handed the tea and cake to you and you payed him back.
“Thanks, Pink. Man, I should get going. It’s getting late.” You said, looking at the time.
“Well, I’ll be off. Good night, Pink!” You waved.
“Good night!” The Addison smiled.
You dropped your bags on the counter in your apartment and sighed. It’s been a long day. Plopping down on the couch, you sighed contently and turned on the television. You could probably order some food or whatever. You didn’t really feel like cooking.
You groaned in annoyance as your phone rang.
“..Hello?”
“Oh [Name] Sugar Honey Sweetie Gravy Pie!”
“Ah, hey Queen. Its.. afterhours. Did you need something?” You sat up.
“I’m Terribly Sorry But I Need You To Come Back To The Mansion. I Can’t Find The Lightners And I Need Both You And Swatch.” She said.
Of course.
“Yeah, yeah, I’m on my way. Just sit tight.” You sighed, getting ready.
The city was noisy as ever, cars blocking up certain paths. You made your way into the mansion eventually, though. Swatch was waiting for you when you entered.
“So, we’re on a goose hunt from what I understand?” You asked, looking at them.
“It would seem that way, yes. The Swatchlings are maintaining the shop, so for now, let’s split up to find them.” Swatch said.
“Is Queen sure they’re even here?” You asked.
“Why Yes I’m Absolutely Positive [Name]!” Queen said, seemingly materializing out of thin air.
You would be surprised, but this tends to happen a lot.
“..Alright. Better get going then. Break a leg.” You said with a grin.
“I could say the same to you.” Swatch returned your expression.
You looked and looked around your selected areas of the mansion but with no trace of anything yet. You shouldn’t be surprised, it is a mansion after all. You arrived upon a door, leading into the basement. Hearing destruction entailing within, you decided to check it out. Sounds like a commotion, so it’s likely that they’re here.
What are they fighting? You had not the slightest clue. The basement was dark and damp. You simply followed the sound of the commotion. Kris, Susie and Ralsei were at the edge of the room and Kris was kneeled down.
“There you guys are! Finally. That took forever to find you.” You smiled.
“Woah, are they okay?” You paused.
“KRIS!! YOU HAVE FRIENDS! WHY DON’T YOU TELL THEM ABOUT MY [ 3 for One Specil!!]” Someone cackled.
They were all scooped up in coasters, You were bunked with Ralsei.
“HOLY-!” You gasped out at the figure in front of you.
Your good friend, who had gone missing years ago, except he was eleven feet tall and a robot, attached by strings.
“..SPAMTON?!” Your jaw dropped.
Ralsei closed your jaw with his paw. “Will you help us??”
“Yeah. Y-Yeah! Of course. Gotta reserve your energy for Queen.” You said, trying to brush off your initial shock.
Spamton cackled like a madman. “[HEAVEN], ARE YOU WATCHING??”
“Totally helps with the knowledge that my best friend who went missing forever ago is trying to kill us.” You said sarcastically.
The four of you worked together to snap the wires attached to Spamton. There were a lot, however.
“Heaven?? Big Shots? What the hell are you talking about?” You asked in confusion.
“DON’T YOU SEE [NAME]?? THIS IS THE [Key] TO FREEDOM!” He cackled.
“Yeah, except it’s not.” You rolled your eyes.
The air crackled with freedom, supposedly. You kept going, following Kris’s command until the last wire remained.
“WAIT!! [$!?!] THE PRESSES! MY WIRES! THEY’RE ALMOST GONE?? I’M BEING GIFTED MY FREEDOM??” Spamton paused.
“That’s what we’ve been trying to accomplish this entire time, yes.” You said.
“I SEE!! THE MOST IMPORTANT DEAL OF ALL! FRIENDSHIP!!” He cried.
“I’LL LIVE FOR MYSELF!! MYSELF AND MY FRIENDS!! CUT THAT LAST WIRE!!” He cheered.
You grinned and nodded at the others.
One final act.
The wire was sliced and the robot crashed to the floor. When the smoke cleared, Spamton was encased in vines. Much smaller than he was before.
You approached him slowly.
The others stayed back.
You untangled him from the vines and had a slight frown as you held him, almost like a little kid.
“It appears all that I could be was a simple puppet. I do hope you’ll be able to free yourself. Do what I couldn’t.” He sighed.
He gave the group a Black Crystal.
“C’mon, Spamton. We’re going home.” You said.
“Work can wait.” You took a breath.
“So you found them and someone else, hm?” Swatch said, after you met back up with them in Color Cafe.
Spamton had fallen asleep. That battle took a lot out of him.
“Yup. Now I’m gonna take some well deserved time off.” You grinned.
“For how long?” They asked.
“Maybe two days to a week. Depends on how he’s doing.” You said, referring to Spamton.
“Be safe, won’t you?” Swatch gave a soft smile.
“I always am.” You smiled back.
You pet Spamton’s hair on the way back home and sighed with content.
You finally had him back.

Chapter 2: A Cold Welcome to the City
You looked at the hundreds of cat displays and neon advertisements ahead and walked by dozens of balloons, your head churning for ideas of what to do next.
The best plan would be to avoid people in this world, but that's easier said than done. You needed to find help.
--
In the distance, buildings separated further from each other, and the increased space brought in more amusement park equipment and even more fair participants.
The midnight blue brick walls held glowing doors to places unknown, as exhibited by various citizens walking to and fro through the frames. Alternating crunches of blue asphalt and gravel under your heels provided a sense of comfort, it being the only constant factor between this world and your own. Intoxicated by the smell of computerized hotdogs, lemonade, and burgers, you dizzily gazed at the advertisements plastered around the concession stands.
You had to find a safe way to leave the crowded area, but how would you sneak past this many people? At least a hundred or so fair-goers were there, not counting those operating the rides and stands.
People were starting to head your way, so you ducked into the shadows between two buildings. In the process of hiding, you heard quiet clinks and rattles below your waist. "Huh? What do I have on?"
Surprisingly, you weren't wearing your library uniform anymore. There was a blue, long-sleeved shirt instead of your green one and a gold-shouldered red vest over it. Your khaki pants were turned into thicker, darker material with lightweight chainmail over your hips, and golden-toed dress shoes replaced your worn tennis shoes.
Everything is as uncomfortable as my old clothes; I guess that's why I wasn't aware of the difference.
You ran your fingers over the chainmail, then took off your scarf to trace the intricate patterns on your shoulder armor, the swirling imprints forming wings on each pad.
This whole outfit probably costs more than ten times my salary. There were also minor tears on your fabrics though that couldn't be helped. You sighed as you spread your hands over the ruined areas. At least you're well-protected.
"Anyway--" you moved a hand to your chin and leaned your other arm against one of the brick walls-- "Everyone around here has relatively normal clothes. I think I'm the only one with flashy clothing." A few pink-flushed creatures hovered by wearing vibrant blue apparel, and many syringe-headed beasts chased the former in aggressive medical uniforms.
Nevermind.
In contrast to the obnoxious medics and floating creatures, the stand keepers wore black, long-sleeved shirts and green pants. Along with the simple attire, these polygonal, colorful people carried beaming smiles and infectious laughter, making you slightly relaxed even with your problems. Moreover, they didn't seem hostile in any capacity; their lively conversations fluttered in the electrified air with an amusing mixture of idle gossip and business negotiations.
In the hope that one of them could provide assistance, you walked out of the hidden spot and into the open area.
--
The pink Addison spun more sugar into beautiful, fluffy clouds to take to his friends after work. He gathered an extra stick to dip into the stainless steel spinner but then reconsidered at the last second. It's understandable: it's near the end of his workday, and he hasn't had any customers in the past ten minutes.
Disappointed, he mumbled to himself, "There's no point in making a new cone. Nobody's interested right now."
He was at the top of his game in the good old days. Every moment, every single second, it seemed that he and his friends would always sell a product, the successful pitches and sales gimmicks pleasingly echoing in his mind. A smirk briefly appeared at the reminders of the constant marketing success and his old camaraderie.
However, buried in the pile of recollections, not all of his colleagues were so fortunate. Such reminiscing always brought back memories of... him.
The former oh-so-big shot of Cyber City, the one companion he never expected to change drastically in the face of luxury. That era of success and wealth was the greatest period of anybody's life, but at the same time, it carried the most painful realities that the Addison and his friends would ever know. Be that as it may, he can't deny that his old friend was a devoted and sincere person--when he wasn't gloating about his new business ventures or future fame anyhow.
*You just watch!
*Someday,
*I'm gonna be a big shot!
*(He jumped off the table, pointing at the ceiling upon landing. Everyone drunkenly giggled in response.)
*I'm shooting for the heavens, and you all know it!
*Those Lightners just haven't seen my potential yet!!!
There's no point in remembering a lost cause, he assured himself, and besides, that bourgeois asshole's gone downhill; Queen even replaced that has-been with her own ads years ago, as unappealing as they are.
Ugh. He closed his eyes and sighed at the growing discontent in his chest. It's not a good habit to work with terrible thoughts.
...!
Stopped by a familiar warmth, his thoughts hit the back burner. The pink worker felt a tug of force in his person, albeit a weak one; he recognized that strength and determination shared amongst a population of his favorite type of customers.
Although he prepared to leave for his break, he re-tied his ponytail to its original sleekness and fixed his leftover hair fringes to the side of his face. Then, he instinctively poised himself in a teapot pose, one hand on his hip and the other in a lifted manner, his tired expression reverting to its initial animated state: a charming Addison smile.
Soon, he found the owner of such power, a disheveled Lightner.
--
You glanced at everything around you as you limped forward. Straight ahead, there was a three-lane highway bustling with traffic so you couldn't go far, but you were determined to get aid and info from somebody.
I should've asked Nubert for directions or something...
The blinking lights of the stands around you did nothing to help the pounding in your head. Finally, nearing the end of the path, you noticed unattended stands, and between two of those stands was a single, non-busy worker, their pink, angular body maintaining what you felt was an awkward pose. Although their face said otherwise, you hoped the time of holding that position wasn't exhausting.
When you turned to their station, the stand keeper swiveled their body in your direction and puffed their chest. You reasoned that they saw you approaching their area and, being the only operator at the end of the path, readied themself for interaction.
Impaired by the lack of food and sleep though, you swayed with each footfall and shortly bumped into someone walking in the opposite direction.
*ZZT!
Mechanical sizzles erupted behind you, and as you turned to apologize, you met a lanky creature with neon blue fur, grey clothing, and a sharp drill- Wait. Is that... their face? There was a spill stain on their chest and below their feet, a crushed energy drink, the shimmer of wrinkled aluminum informing you that you made a grave mistake.
*ZZT!
*ZZT!!!
*(You rapidly spit out apology after apology, explaining your exhaustion and hunger in as few words as possible. You step backward as they gradually near you.)
*ZZT!
*(You hold up your hands in an attempt to coax them from further aggression.)
*(It doesn't work. The creature stomps forward; their claws angle
together to create a mini spear.)
*(An orb of light grows from the tip of their spear-like hands, the charge threateningly close to your face.)
"Whoa there, dear patrons!!! Please refrain from destroying the area [And Each Other]!!!"
Directly behind you, the anxious booming voice of the worker struck through the air. Their shout mixed with the sounds of the world, with the echoes of traffic, laughter, and welcoming city music, and replaced the extreme tension with awkward apprehension.
As it settled, you felt a familiarity to their vocals, the sound holding a similar bubbly twinge like that of the voice in the dump. The perpetrator fizzed a few tones of irritation at the worker but eventually backed down from attacking you and walked away, their drill-masked face peering back at you as they headed into a blue doorway.
After overcoming your shock, you turned to acknowledge your savior. "Thank you, I-"
"Don't say another word, Lightner! There's no need for such trivialities--" the stand keeper chirped with a nonchalant hand wave-- "I'm always honoured to be of assistance!!!" They knelt and picked up the crumpled can, swiftly tossing it into a nearby recycling bin.
"And besides, you don't appear to be in the best of shape. What kind of person wouldn't help someone in need?" When the worker finally faced you, you saw a white name tag on the left side of their shirt.
*Hello! My name is
*PINK.
*My pronouns are
*HE/HIM.
You stared at the paper and murmured the printed words, which caused Pink to peer down at his tag. A slight magenta flush made its way across his angular face, and he peeled the sticker off with a soft, uncomfortable chuckle.
"Ah, I... forgot I still had that on. Well! That doesn't matter now! There's... no need to introduce myself, I suppose!!!" Pink crumpled the tag and tucked it in his pocket. Although you were confused at his sudden discomfort, it would probably be too rude to ask him about it, seeing as you were strangers.
"So!!! I'm aware that you need food and bedding, right?"
You nodded, looking away from his pitying gaze. "Honestly, I forgot that you were there in the heat of the moment. Sorry you had to see the dramatics."
"Nonsense!!! If anything, I'm glad I have a way to help you now!!!" He moved behind his station and picked up a high-tech, translucent device. It's just a smartphone, you realized.
Pink dialed a number, then pulled out a smooth-surface, wooden stool from under the stand's counter, motioning for you to rest. You noticed cotton candy equipment when he moved aside: a sugar spinner, some thin cones, and a few plastic-packaged bags with names on them. Nat... Loyal... Seo... I wonder who those are for.
He talked to you while the dial tones rang. "My friends and I hang out at this one bar-and-grill after work, and I gotta tell ya, Lightner: the food's amazing!!!"
Ring, ring.
No answer yet. "Would you like to tag along with us? My treat, of course!"
"I-I... am hungry, so I appreciate your offer. Yes, if your friends are okay with it, I want to go with you." You sat beside him and fiddled with your hands while you waited. Maybe it was hasty to travel with a stranger, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
--
"MY [[Name]]??? WHY, I'M SPA- [ACK]!!!" A line of Maice rolled by, frightening the puppet and causing him to drop his small stock of products and Pipis.
"HEy, HEY- WATCH THE [[So Cheap, You'll Die]] MERCH4NDISE, YOU [ByteSized] RODENTS!!! I'M IN A [[Hurry, hurry, t1me is running 0ut!]]"
He started to gather the items back into his arms but not before apologetically petting the Pipis. In the bundle of useless things lay a few worn bowties, a couple of filled bottles with his face on the covers, and some thorn-adorned rings. Those rings, he knew, would help his plan exponentially, provided that the Knight's idea wasn't a load of-
"[$IX$]!1! WHERE ARE MY [Commemorative Ring](s)??!"
His careless fingers screeched and scratched against the harsh asphalt; the gravel and dirt increased the stains on his pants. Soon, he felt painful pricks on both palms, indicating he found the scattered, dangerous jewelry. The salesman cautiously placed them with the other products on the ground, this time checking that nothing was missing.
"HAHAHAEHAEHAHAHAEHAE!!! THAT WAS
[[Close]]."
Before the Maice startled him, he was practicing his future introduction with the Lightner. He knew that they would go to his new site; they may have muttered it, but he's definitely sure that they said they would "stop by there"!
Right?
Rarely would the reality of his situation show itself so plainly to him. Once the guy who had the Cyber World in his palm, now the forgotten reject living in Cyber City's outskirts, eager for a single interaction that didn't end in him being beaten or cursed at. Try as he might to deny it, this constant facade of confidence drained him. When he's done with the Lightner, he thought, he'll be at the top again, and his pride won't be feigned anymore.
He fiercely smacked his head, remasked his ego, and gathered his things. "I' M THE [[Number 1 Rated Salesman1997]]!!! THAT [[Little Sponge]] KNOWS I AM [100% Geniune And Trustworthy]!!!"
After convincing himself that the Lightner wasn't misleading him, he sneaked into a glowing doorway, confirming that he didn't alert any Ambyu-Lance, and traveled to a different part of the city.
--
The doors couldn't transport Lightners, only those made of Cyber World's code and similar Darkner biology, which is why he was able to run through them, zipping from one entrance to the next. He ran by hundreds of Darkners and carefully treaded busy roads throughout his route, hopping through the chaotic traffic patterns with ease.
His legs would sometimes give out under the number of items he carried and his speed, but overall, he did his best to keep from being seen by the inner-city dwellers or from getting hit by cars. Every few doors, he would catch a glimpse of familiar faces, the angular grins of past traitors reigniting his resentment. He quickened his pace with each sight of those people.
He knew the way to his proposed location, having taken the path many times before. After a few more minutes of running, his pace slowed once he walked through the last doorway to his destination.
"[[Home, Sweet, Home]]," he halfheartedly mumbled to himself as he stopped walking.
In front of him stood a green dumpster covered in warnings and Do-Not-Occupy decals, the stickers contradicting his intended use for the container. He peered over the edge to ensure a soft landing for his items, and when he was convinced the inside was cushioned properly, he threw his products in.
Following the items, he climbed in with the Pipis in his grip and landed on the trash heap. Then, the exhausted puppet grabbed a pillow hidden behind a garbage bag and took off his black jacket, muttering to himself about lights and batteries and his "brand-new customer."
"I THINK... I [Think]..." His eyes drooped as he hugged the dirty pillow, tracing the clumsily-drawn smile on it. "I think I sh-should take a [[Rest On This Luxury Bedding]]," he muttered wearily, his actions and speech exposing his past self anew, "be-before the Lightner arrives...." Finally, he stretched, placed his jacket over himself, and situated the Pipis around his body before shutting his eyes for much-needed rest.
--
The fragmented vocals eased into sleepy stutters of the Darkner he used to be. Several years ago, he would've been sobbing into the mold-ridden pillow, pathetically gripping at the seams for faux comfort and affection, but now he would rather sleep than address his declining mental health.
Other Darkners wouldn't understand unless they saw for themselves his reason for escapism and even his waking foolhardiness.
Endlessly, he imagined the bright light, the light that nearly blinded him but also blessed his once-normal skin with light and love and everything a worthless Darkner could never encounter in the Dark Worlds. Of course, he was jealous of those damned Lightners, but at the same time, he recognized that same beauty and glow in their SOULs, the hearts that exist outside of their bodies, the entire culmination of their beings!
Why, why, why couldn't he have that?
A Darkner doesn't possess a SOUL, but what if they did? What if he, the best damned salesman in all of the Dark Worlds, could control a SOUL? He could leave the Cyber World, cross the Light World, and finally experience that constant love and warmth for the rest of his life.
This longing made him wish he had never met any of them. Mike. The Knight. Jevil. Maybe his life still would've gone downhill, but at least he wouldn't be cursed with the knowledge of a joy he could never savor. At least he wouldn't feel the burn of acid and darkness drowning him, torturing him-
"STOP," he stirred himself out of the dreams, "[Stop] the [Brain Train], YOU [Cheap] [[Waste Of Garage Space]]. I DON'T..." He glimpsed at a rotting poster on the midnight blue wall, reminding himself of what happened. "I-I'm not...
[[Ughh.]]" His body shuddered as he nestled into the pillow and Pipis in a miserable attempt to soothe himself from the increasing cold and disturbing thoughts.
--
"Brrr-!!!" Pink huddled one arm around his torso while waiting for his friend to pick up.
Ring, ring.
"Wow, wish I grabbed my coat before I left today, haha! It's getting kind of chilly!!! Are-are you [[Cold]], Lightner???" His voice shivered and glitched during the question.
You turned to him and tugged at your scarf, "Kind of, but not on the same level as you." An idea popped into your head. Your shirt-and-vest insulated enough body heat that the cold didn't bother you too much, and you were positive that you didn't need the scarf.
I could give him the scarf! Hopefully he doesn't have any aversion to microfiber.
Ring, ring. "Hey, Pink, I was wondering-"
Ring, ri- Click. "Hold that thought, Lightner!"
*(You hear a muffled hello from Pink's phone.)
*Nat-! Uh, I mean, Orange!
*(Pink starts pacing around the stand area.)
*Ahh, no, my shift is over!
*Yes, I do have a Lightner with me at the moment!!!
*While we're on the subject,
*About the grill hangout...
*(He continues walking back and forth, discussing your circumstances to his friend.)
You rested your chin in your palm while you waited for him to finish. Nat... Just like the name on the cotton candy.
--
Sitting with your elbow placed on your leg and your head in your hands isn't comfortable, yet you fell asleep anyway. Before your slumber, your eyes followed Pink's walking pattern, a metronome-like movement, and it soothed your brain into a drowsy trance. Then, unknown to you, your senses darkened into a dull haze, subtly shut off, and sent you into a disturbing, surreal place...
...To a familiar darkness filled with endless mourning and colourful regret, with a sea of garbage and glass shards littering the ground in a trail to a dead-end.
*(You embraced the grieving yellow figure sympathetically. After a short time, they released you and showed you a piece of shattered glass.)
*(It was part of a broken light bulb. The same brand you got for him... for his shop.)
*(You told the bundle of darkness that he hated LEDs, so you bought him incandescent bulbs. Sad chuckles filled the air.)
*(A blue shadow continued the yellow's dialogue after the weak merriment died down.)
*Night after night, when we all went to the same cyber grill,
*He'd shoot his mouth about making it big someday.
*"You just watch!"
*"Someday,
*I'm gonna be a big shot!"
*...it's nice to hear that, Y/N.
*I thought he would be too proud to accept gifts.
*(You added that he liked the color and warmth of incandescent bulbs.
*He told you that it reminded him of
*"The Big One."
*The Sun in the Light World.)
--
The pink Addison moved in optimistic strides around the area. Yet, even throughout his conversation, he was caught in a dilemma: tell the Lightner about Addison names now or address it when they meet the other pink Addisons.
Maybe, he hoped, those two would be too tired or too busy to attend! It would be a terrible coincidence if they came today of all days.
*Hmm.
*\\ What's up, Seo?
*Just thinking about Cro and Omni.
*I don't know how I'd explain that, you know?
*The whole sharing-a-singular-work-name thing. Not being the only "Pink."
He pulled out the crumpled tag from his pocket and groaned when he looked at the wrinkled name. Pink.
*\\ Oh [#!%*]- Seo, I forgot to tell you!!!
*\\ Everybody
*\\ Is Coming
*\\ To The Grill!
*\\ Lol Whoops.
Seo crushed the sticker and scowled at the phone.
*[[NAT]]-
*\\ I'm super duper sorry, buddy! I didn't know you were bringing a Lightner!
*\\ But guess what!
*\\ Cro and Omni won't join us until we reach the tea shop,
*\\ So you can tell the Lightner before then!!!
*I just... wish I knew this beforehand.
He stopped pacing to look at them.
*(Innocent Lightners are fast asleep.)
Seo shivered again and sat on the sidewalk near the Lightner, rubbing his arms for warmth. "Anyway, I've got your and Loyal's candy bags, so you two don't have to complain about food while we head to the grill! Like usual."
The wind blew harder. "Ughh- Oh, before I forget, do you have an extra coat from Tee? I di-didn't bring mine."
After a short pause, Nat answered, "Nope, sorry, I don't have an extra! Tee's waiting in the other district with the rest of the guys; fortunately, Serp's here so he can order a jacket if you need it."
Because of the recent decline in shoppers, it bothered Seo to ask for clothing from Tee or Serp, but he knew that those two, like any Addison, would bother him until he took whatever they offered.
However, Serp was the worst of his friend group; he would pester everyone daily about mending the holes in their clothes for free or paying for Gage's laundry services with his own money. That yellow menace would not rest if he found out Seo wouldn't take a gift from him.
On one hand, he needed the coat--at this temperature, he'd be frozen in a few hours. On the other hand, though, he'd be taking away from Tee and Serp's profits if he took the offer.
"Well-"
Someone interrupted in the call's background, "Does the Lightner need one, too???"
Overlooking the Lightner and declining a gift on their behalf would be rude, so he swallowed his pride and accepted the present.
"Get a jacket for both of us, please."

(Author's note #2: Thank y'all so, so much for waiting for this chapter!!!! I still can't believe it took four weeks ughhh but it's my fault for the lack of scheduling and planning
If anyone notices misspellings or wrong grammar in Spamton's/any Addison's dialogue, please know that it is intentional! I try to implement a garbled, glitched element in their ad-speak, but I know that it may seem like an unnoticed writing mistake.
Also! I gave the Addisons names to keep from confusing myself and to hold a consistency with the number of Addisons we see in Deltarune. Another thing, I want to inform y’all that the tea Addison (Cro) uses it/its, and the divorce shoe Addison (Omni) uses they/them, so I would appreciate if they aren’t misgendered!
I don't know what it is about minor details that makes writing this so fun, but I'm excited that other people like it, too!!!
Anyway, thanks again to everyone who's read thus far, and hopefully I'll post the next one in two weeks!)

cw: drugs, cigarettes, abuse
*does not follow original plot of sally face*
Tumblr media
summary: seventeen year old y/n and her bitchfaced mother arrive in nockfell. in her first few minutes at the addison apartments, she’s already made new enemies and escaped her home for a quick stroll.
Tumblr media
The poisonous yet familiar smell of smoke filed out the car window as you neared addison apartments.
“This place looks like a shit shack.” you mumbled, clearly displeased with your mother’s housing choice.
“What was that, brat?” Her blond hair whipped around to face you. She was a dirty woman, her hair indefinitely damaged from box dye, eyebags as dark as night, prominent cigar butt scars and heavy wrinkles adorning her discoloured face. Every single piece of clothing she owned was either laced with the smell of cigarettes or was stained, too.
Not that you were much better. You reeked of weed and smoke, but at least you knew how to maintain proper hygiene. God, you were gonna have to shower after this. The stench of the car had already ingrained itself into your skin, but hey, it was worth a try.
“Get the boxes, i’ll be right there.” she huffed and pulled out her phone.
“What, are you not gonna help?”
“Get the fucking boxes!” she snarled at you.
“Alright! Alright.” you slung your black duffel over your left shoulder as you hopped out the car. A few moments later, the trunk popped and you could hear your mom’s annoying laughter coming from the front seat. She was probably on the phone with some scumbag again. Pulling your bluesville zippo lighter out of your jacket pocket, you quickly lit up a smoke before grabbing a box. The keys to your apartment, 404, already hung from your belt loop. They jiggled slightly as you made your way to the front doors.
When you walked in, you were hit with a strong, unpleasant smell. It was like mildew mixed with the smell of peroxide on blood; maybe some heavy chemical cleaner as well. Your eyes traced the sickly green coloured doors as you made your way to the elevator. Quickly remembering the cigarette still in your mouth, you hastily remove it and breath the smoke out. It slowly seeps into the ceiling. Seems like the building was used to this kind of neglect. Heading into the elevator, you heard two muffled voices coming from behind you. One was deep and gruff, the other a more soft, emotionless tune.
“They said there’s gonna be a new album next year.” the softer voice exclaimed. Great, they were probably headed to the elevator too. You tried to speed up and close the doors on them, but alas, your effort was wasted as a pale, thin hand with painted black nails stopped the door from closing. You soon learned that it belonged to a just as pale, electric-blue haired boy. He was around 5’6 and dressed in a simple black sweater and red ripped jeans. The only thing that stood out, apart from his hair, was a white prosthetic. There was a light pink stain in the top right corner, but apart from that, it was plain. There was not a single emotion visible on it either. The only thing that could hint to any sort of feeling was the boy’s ice blue eyes peeking through the eyeholes.
He cleared his throat and you moved over begrudgingly. Following him was another boy, around 6’0 with long brown hair and brown eyes. He noticed you looking at him and shot a wink which you completely disregarded. They both looked at the giant box in your hand. You took your chance and put the cigarette up to your lips again. They looked up at the sound of an inhale.
“That’s not good for you.” the shorter one muttered in his annoyingly quiet voice. You pulled it out and huffed the smoke into his mask.
“Shut it, pigtails.” you growled quietly. God, why was this fucking elevator taking so long?
Larry grimaced at the nickname and began making his way towards you. He thought you looked cool at first, but apparently he was wrong. Sal’s hand made contact with his chest before he could confront you.
“Sal, what-”
“Why not the mask?” sally was amused now. it was usually the mask that people pointed out, that they picked on him for. so why didn’t you?
The elevator dinged and you quickly walked out with your box in hand, cigarette in your mouth. quickly, your free hand slammed against the buttons of the elevator. the metal against metal clanged loudly as you pulled away. You chuckled at their astonished faces. “See ya, fuckers!”
Sal’s face lit up a bit under his mask.
“Larry, she’s like me!”

By the time you finished sorting your boxes, it was around 11 pm. Your mom was already knocked out on the couch so nothing was stopping you from going out on a stroll. Quickly throwing on your army green windbreaker, you grab your skateboard and slip on your boots. God, you hoped those weirdos weren’t still out there. Making sure to slam the door extra loud, you run out your apartment and quickly make your way down the stairs. Your mom’s faint screaming only earned a giggle from you as you opened the door. A cool, rain-fresh breeze filled your nose and you set down your skateboard. It was a nice change from the tainted apartment air. The sky was navy, fading into a baby blue as it reached the ground. Nockfell was a small town so you’d finally be able to see the stars. A few were already peaking out at you. Turning your attention back to yourself, you pull out a cig and light it as you kick off.
Across the street from you were larry and sal, hoods on and shivering as they quickly walked back to the apartments. Larry was rambling about todd’s parents and their weed or something, but sal couldnt find it in him to listen. His attention was stuck on you. It was rare to see another kid with a prosthetic here in nockfell. Actually, he was pretty sure he was the only teen with one. Except you, of course. He remembered your metal hand shining in the light of the elevator as you trotted away, unbothered and chuckling to yourself. Him and larry were stuck in there for around five minutes after you spammed the buttons. Larry was pissed, but sal found himself smiling. At your chuckle, at your prosthetic, he didn’t know. Maybe both.
“Anyway, some kid said they were better than san- sally face, you there? Dont tell me you’re still hung up on that chick.'' Larry sighed.
“No!” the tips of his ears turned a little pink at his sudden reply. “I mean, no.”
“Man, i still dont get why you’re not mad. She’s a dick!” The brunette really was confused. She called him names and was just mean in general. She got them stuck in the elevator! Just because she had a metal hand didnt give her special bullying privileges.
“She’s just a little roughed up is all.”
larry looked across the street to the sound of a skateboard.
“Speak of the devil. Wait, isn’t that a sanity’s fall shirt? Man, for a dick, she’s got a good ass music taste! Come on!”

GAMES. — Zed Necrodopolis
Pairing: Zed X FEMALE Reader
Requested: Yes / No
Requested By: @gummybee12 Thank you so much for being my first submission. Sorry for not posting immediately i recently transitioned semesters so i had too focus on school the past two weeks but i hope you enjoy it! Also, their might be an extensive part to this one-shot so please don’t be worried if it ends abruptly!
Summary: When Y/N moved to SeaBrook she is warned by her friends to stay cautious of Zed, who’s only goal is to get with every girl and then drop them. One night at an annual zombie mash could change her expectations.
Prompt: #64 — “Your who they warned me about”.
Warnings: regular teens cursing.
IT HAD BEEN ONE DAY SINCE ZED had called it quits with Addison. The blonde girl was utterly heart broken as she sobbed quietly in the beige colored stall in the SeaBrook High girl’s lavatory. Bree stood outside of the small stall consoling Addison and trying to comfort her sad friend. Bree’s arms crossed over her chest in annoyance she breathed out a huge huff and began slowly pacing around the sink area. “I’m going to kill him”. Bree spoke in a utter tone as her white teeth gritted together in anger at the thought of the green haired zombie.
Zed Necrodopolis. Everyone at SeaBrook knew the name if you’d ask they’d point you in the direction of the sly zombie who stood at 6’3 with vibrant green hair, piercing brown eyes and mahogany colored converse. He was your all average stuck up playboy. You’d either find him at raging house parties and annual zombie mashes completely sucking the face off some human girl in the corner while loud music blasted over the speaker, practically trying to get her clothes off.
Zed arrived at SeaBrook High as transfers from zombie town along with other students almost 2 years ago, and since then the disgusting misogynistic peer pressures of being popular has taken over his mind. He had bright goals and ambitions to make SeaBrook a better place dude to the wide discrimination and violence against zombies — he had joined the football team, became student body president and from their, Y/N knew it was only a matter of time before her childhood best friend dissolved into the crowd.
Y/N was a hybrid. She was born to a human father and zombie mother, which at the time of her birth wasn’t a normal thing that was looked upon in the town of SeaBrook. She had human like features, her eyes, nose, teeth although her hair was born and curly the other half of her head was a vibrant neon green and she inherited a diamond shaped birthmark on her wrist.
She learned from an early age how to stand up for herself due to growing up in an all human town and going to a human elementary school. The kids laughed and taunted her but scaring them off didn’t stop her. Instead of being forced to wear a bulky wrist band that has to be covered in plastic every time a zombie takes a shower, Y/N was given a green jeweled necklace handed down by generations in her family to help contain the full zombie impulse.
She and her family moved to SeaBrook back in the summer — which was about a month ago, on her first day she was utterly lost and couldn’t find her way around the school she soon befriended Addison and her friend Bree, who quickly accepted her with open arms. With Addison out of sight, who was still dating her at the time made sure to warn Y/N about Zed’s sick tendencies. “He just broke up with Zia about 3 weeks ago”. Bree told Y/N as she sat with her at lunch surrounded by Bree, Bonzo, Lacey, and Bucky. Y/N squinted at the laughter to green haired teens shared sitting at the back table in the cafeteria while eating lunch.
Zed not failing to flirt and compliment Addison every second only causing her to swoon more and more. “He’s going to break her”. Bree spoke taking a bite of her pizza , to which the group murmured in agreement. “It’s only a matter of time before he continues the cycle so it’s best we all stay away from him — including you Y/N”. Bree tried to lecture but only earned a scoff from Y/N who rolled her eyes.
“Pfft, as if zombie boy over there even has a single chance”.
It had been three weeks since Zed had broken the blonde’s heart. The last bell for the hour rang as Y/N took her seat on the small wooden stool in the science class. The bell had rang and Y/N let out a content sigh pulling out her lime green spiraled notebook and a mechanical pencil. “Good Afternoon class”. Y/N’s eyes adverted to the welcoming voice of Mr. Eeurk, the science teacher who stood at about 5  feet and 9 inches with very pale skin and brown eyes a bright smile on his face as he walked over to his large desk and set down his leather bag taking a sip of his coffee.
20 minutes had soon passed when Mr. Eeurk was lecturing the class about the plants cycle of photosynthesis. The large door creaked open as a tall built figure walked in flashing a shiny white smile. “Hey Mr Eeurk sorry i’m late i was using the bathroom!” Mr. Eeurk didn’t seem impressed - or amused at the fact that one of his careless students was late to class -- again.
“I don’t want to hear it Necrodopolis, take a seat and get out your worksheet”. Mr. Eeurk nonchalantly answered with his back turned to the 6 feet 4′ athlete reading the answer pages on his clipboard. Zed sighed and scanned the room for a place to sit his eyes met the eyes of the quiet and innocent looking students -- most of them the zombie knew because of his high popularity on school grounds, but some he did not.
He smirked to  himself as he eyes down the candy that was Y/N. He didn’t care about anything except keeping his name in check which meant staking out the class for fresh meat. He was an asshole, which meant he cared about no one, only himself and his needs.
Y/N had felt an unusual pit of wary grow in her stomach, a light finger tapped the upper right of her shoulder. Breaking her attention away from her science worksheet that she had almost finished she eyed a paled face boy who she had heard many things about. Y/N was smart, so she knew he was up to something the minute he batted his eyes innocently and said;
“ can i sit here?”
he licked his lips and smiled like an angel. ‘So he thinks he’s really fooling me huh? Yeah not today dude.’  Y/N chuckles lightly and shakes her head picking up her finished worksheet. She gave him a moment of ambition and curious silence when she flashes a flirty smile and spoke, “no but you can go sit your ass in the back”.
She giggled evilly as she watched the sly expression on the player’s face immediately drop to disappointment. He nodded slowly and pursed his lips not expecting the ‘ohs” and enjoying laughter from his football buddies and classmates.
Y/N had stood up from her seat and slowly strutted up wards towards the small plastic paper box that laid on the teacher’s desk. Placing her completed paper in with a smile she made her way back to the small desk in silence. Zed’s eager eyes following her every move, he licked his dry lips in anticipation. Y/N however, smirked at her recent actions, proud of the rejection she gave the notorious fuckboy moments earlier.
The time had somehow consumed her thoughts as the last school bell for the day finally rang as a release for the captive students. Packing up her things Y/N walked out of the science room and up the grey stairs of SeaBrook High feeling like she had just won a grammy. She chuckled swaying her hips as she made her way over toward’s Bree’s pink colored locker.
Two can definitely play at this game.
