For the Greens:

-Aegon II is 23

-Helaena is 21

-Aemond is 20

I'd probably have to read the printed version and web version back to back at some point to note all the differences but... ough

#sorry i'm going to be excited about this comic for the next month #nofna #okay having finished this now-- #and sorry if this doesn't make sense to anyone who's completely unfamiliar with this comic in advance- #the 'popcorn ending' (printed version) is nice to see but i think the web version hits harder. if that makes sense #so i'm kinda tied on which ending i 'prefer'- i think both are good though #also considering i've read the web version a good 4-5 times and the printed version only once- i probably can't make that judgement yet #easy answer- i do like Nutsedge :] so it's nice to see the ending where nothing bad happens to her #but also- NT suddenly becoming a greenie-esque villain out of nowhere felt a little jarring #as well as SV suddenly turning a corner and becoming a 'good guy' (arguable)- considering the first three books are about #/him being too stubborn to change or accept any outside worldviews . Him suddenly coming to his senses felt out of place #<- probably biased because i like characters being bitter to the end and ultimately destroyed by their own hubris #the web version is probably‚ objectively‚ a bit better #but - #(spoilers- if you're planning to drop ~70 bucks on getting these books) #the conceit of SV actually perfecting his style‚ using it once‚ and then immediately getting tooth-brained- was pretty cool #assuming it's meant to parallel him spending months tormented by trying to perfect it while something's still missing- #and then dying before he can narrate it to the audience‚ so that we never know what he figured out. #hard to articulate these thoughts but tl;dr- popcorn ending also had a lot to think about

For video game shaders, octopath traveler! Itd be interesting to hear your thoughts on a game with its unique graphics

octopath looks like its doing a few things!! for starters it has a tonn of post processing - depth of field (blurring stuff far from/close to the camera), vignette (darkening the edges of the screen), and bloom (taking the bright parts and making them Glow). it might also have some ambient occlusion (finding the parts that should be getting less light because theyre in corners and such and darkening them) but that might be build into the textures. here's a before and after!!

apart from that, a lot of the heavy lifting is being done by their art direction!! for all intents and purposes, apart from the character sprites it is a 3d game, but they make sure all of their textures are pixel art and have the same level of pixel density to give it the pixel art but 3d feel. on top of that they are running (possibly pre-baked?) lighting, shadows, realistic water shaders

the 2d sprites also have normal maps on them!! so if things get lit up around them, the light bounces off of them semi-realistically, even though theyre 2d

Have you ever wondered what the characters of TBTG would be like in a modern AU? Would the Targs be like the Hapsburgs with an intertwined royal history all spread out or the heads of some big business or political family? Daemon being a favorite of the paparazzi with his “rogue” ways and dashing smirk (maybe he’s a pilot or a fencer or something too), Rhaenyra raised with generations of family expectations and constantly under scrutiny that she shoulders readily (but always on top of the trends and best dressed lists), Alicent the ambitious low level employee who catches a married man’s eyes away from his political marriage due to her father’s standing in the company (and crafting a Cinderella narrative around it to stem affair rumors), all of the drama going down in front of a chaos loving public etc.

All I know is that Daemon and Rhaenyra would have a leaked seggs tape 😂

It could be, but I also think it could be Popcorn, since her hair also has dots in it. Not to mention, both have somewhat similar hair styles

Also, the costume has glasses, which is something we know Popcorn wears and is something she uses in her Skill, meaning she likely has to have them in a costume

i personally (cant stress that enough) find it in poor taste because it's not my business to speculate on someone's gender identity

this, of course, does not give me the right to harrass someone off the platform, as it wouldn't give ANYONE the right to. i hope enemy-viv is doing okay despite all this, she didn't deserve the harrassment whatsoever and i hope anyone who participated in driving her off finds a thumbtack in their shoe
