recipe makers NEED to stop framing vegan food as “healthy food” and assuming that the vegan cook/eater requires caloric and macronutrient breakdowns on every recipe or food review. fixating on notions of “health” (read: weight loss) when it comes to veganism not only nullifies the ethical commitment the lifestyle implies but also assigns a new, wildly unethical and dangerous social imperative of body punishment instead. this creates a deadly environment for vegans with EDs, as well as others whose class/disability/ etc contexts require them to consume processed foods.
The imbrication of contemporary “plant based” culture with diet culture/antifatness is stripping bodily autonomy from marginalized people who want to follow their ethical commitments, but cannot do so without putting their lives in danger.

me and my editor are making SUCH good headway with the spitfire edit and it is honestly killing me that i can’t share it with y’all bc it is so good!!!!!!!!
also obviously knock on wood but we’re hoping to have the first book (i.e. first half of legacy spitfire) edited and ready for submission in early 2024, hopefully by end of january but i don’t wanna get ahead of myself

Am back to pack my dinner from Western Boy Express on the way back from office. Ordered the S$8.90 Chicken Steak Aglio Olio (鸡扒蒜香意面) plus add in S$3 set meal and extra S$0.50 takeaway box surcharge. Trust me, it is worth to make it a set meal as you get a crisp salad, cheesy fries and creamy mushroom soup to go with the main course. The pan-fried boneless chicken thigh can barely fit inside the box atop the olive oil-based spaghetti. The skin is charred and crispy while the chicken still remains juicy and tender.

2 years ago i asked a chinese classmate to rec me some authentic chinese restaurants and i finallyyy went there last night with some other friends and it was so good screaming shaking throwing up... they didnt have that many vegetarian-friendly dishes but that was a given and tbh most restaurants that acter too heavuly to vegetarians/vegans suck anyway because they think we're allergic to seasoning lmaooo anyway the restaurant was soooo good, i needed this after spening 20 bucks on unseasoned pizza...
