You were sprinting as fast as you could to Jay’s car, not because you wanted to see the boys that badly, no, you had just seen Sunoo and Jungwon like 20 minutes ago. You needed to beat Riki and with so much luck you did!  ‘’ hi’’ you said, opening the car door and meeting Sunoo's smiling face.  ‘’I’m not gonna lie, I’m very impressed y/n I thought ki was gonna beat you’’ you hear Jungwon say as you finish buckling your seatbelts. ‘’So did I!’’ you say, still having to catch your breath. ''Look who finally shows up’’ Jay says as Riki flings himself onto yours and Sunoo's lap, probably banging his head on the roof in the process. ''OW your elbow went into my thigh!’’ you say to Niki's face as he lies face down in your lap, ''Regretting the choice you just made there bud?���’ Jungwon said like a mother. ‘’Yes, yes I am,’’ Riki said not bothering to move yet, and it's moments like this where you question how and why you are friends with these guys. Niki and you have gone to the same schools for your entire lives, but when the two of you were in grade school you barely saw him, you both had the same classes he just skipped school. But you remember the first time you talked to him Riki, it was the day of the school sports event, you had just won a potato sack race when you decided to sit down, which you did on a patch of grass far away from the school with your cherry popsicle you had just won, the sun was beaming down o you causing the frozen treat to melt on your hands and before you knew it fall into the dirt where the ants were now enjoying your prize. This was the end of the world for ten-year-old you, sniffing and wiping your tears off you feel a tap on your shoulder turning around to find a boy the same age as you holding out his popsicle to you, ''You can have mine if you want.’’ the boy said, still not looking you in the eyes. ‘’ can we share it?’’ you spoke quietly, the kid just nodded at you. ''I’m Riki.’’ he said sitting down beside you handing you the popsicle, to which you took a bite and then handed it back, ''I’m y/n! Are you new here?’’ you asked ‘’No’’ he said. You saw more of him at school from that day on, you two were now stuck together at the hip figuratively and kind of literally. ''ki gets off of me, you’ve had enough time to process!’’ the giant on your lap just murmured something under his breath and sat in his seat next to Sunoo. ''hold on guys I think I left something in the back of the trunk, y/n can you peak over and lo-’’ ‘’ no need I’m right here!’’ Sunghoon emerged from the trunk cutting off jays sentence and making everyone yelp in shock and surprise everyone except Sunoo he just laughed. ''what the fuck hoon you almost make y/n pee her pants!’’ Ni Ki said clutching his chest ''what the hell dude! Do I have permission to kick him out of the car Jay?’’  ‘’ Yeah, why not!’’ Jay said enthusiastically. 

With much restraint you managed to make it to Riki's house without causing his body any harm, jay, Riki, and Sunoo all raced to the front door while you and Jungwon helped Sunghoon out of the back ''i swear to god you vampire Hoon!’’ you pointed an accusing finger at Sunghoon ''maybe I am, maybe I'm not all I know is if I was a vampire wouldn't know.’’ ‘’ Can I start calling you a Cullen?’’ Jungwon said. ''as long as it refers to me being Edward knock yourself out!’’ ‘’I was thinking more of Jasper, you two are very alike!’’ jungwon said before skipping to the house. ''I am not a Jasper I’m an Edward.’’ sunghoon said defensively ''Sure you are bud, sure you are!’’ you say patting his back. running to Riki's front door only to be met by his back to your face. ''why are you standing in the middle of the doorway?’’ you said rubbing your nose ''I was hoping you would be Sunghoon, but you're not so sorry.’’ he said grabbing your face to look at the damage he caused ''you broke my nose!’’ ''I did not. Stop being dramatic’’ he said bending down to your level so he could see your eyes and nose, this boy is going to kill you there was no reason for him to be doing all this, you're not even bleeding. ''follow me, let's go bandage you up.’’ he said with a laugh leading you towards his kitchen. Following his lead you enter his family kitchen that you become familiar with, sitting at the dining table Riki takes out a pack of peas from the freezer and hands them to you before sitting next to you, ''So y/n I wanted to talk about earlier.’’ he said as you placed the peas on your nose, not that you needed it. ''about how you don't know how to draw a circle because I don’t think that's important ki you have many more things you're actually good at!’’ you said trying to act completely oblivious to what he's trying to get at, ''first of all rude, second of all this about what I said at lunch, y’know you helping me talk to Rei?’’ thank god for the frozen peas to cover up how flustered you are ''oh yes that thing I agreed too!’’ ''right, so I was thinking we could make a plan or list-type thing to help.’’ ''wait I just thought I was just gonna get her number for you and this be over with?’’ ''oh no no no, my good pal you’re my wing-woman y/n you're in this for life!’’ he said grinning, letting out a sigh you asked ''I'm guessing you already have a plan huh?’’ you see Riki nodding with glee ''yes- well some of it all I know is I want to ask rei to come with me to the school dance in a couple of months.’’ you were going to respond when you were interrupted by sunghoon spinning into the kitchen ''why do you need to ask some other girl you don’t know when you have a perfectly good candidate here?’’ oh god, you had regretted telling the other boys you had a crush on Riki specifically Sunghoon. ''and who would that be?’’ Riki said confused, please don't say me don't say me ''sunoo!’’ oh thank god. You watched as Hoon looked at you and winked, you should have left him in the trunk. ''hey Riki do you have any more hot coco packs?’’ sunghoon said, Riki looked up from his phone ''No you used them all remember?’’ ''damn it! I can’t have anything! I can’t be Edward! I can't drink my hot coco!’’ Sunghoon mumbled as he left the kitchen. “anyway about Rei I was wondering if you could eavesdrop on her conversations so that” “Absolutely not! I’m not gonna become a stalker for you” “Just this once y/n please!” “no ki…I know Rei volunteers to help in the library every week or some why don’t you, I don’t know see her there?” “so you’re asking me to go to the library of my own free will?” “yes, I don’t think it’s that big of a deal” “Fine.” “GUESS WHOS BACK!” Heeseung said as he walked through the door, Jake followed behind him. “Hey Y/N, can you take my shift? I have to go do something.” Robin asks you. “Uh, where the hell is steve? I’m running his shift too. Rob, i dont know if I can run both of y’alls shifts. That's difficult…” you tell her. “I’ll call Steve, but please Y/N?! Vikie asked me out! And I don't wanna miss it.” She pleads. “Fine…” you finally give up. “You’re the best!” she yells as she runs out the door. You don’t know why, but you feel kind of…Jealous? As you’re lost in thought, Steve walks through the door. “Hey Y/N, Where's Robin?” he asks. “Hm?” you look up, “oh. She went on a date with Vikie.” you tell him. You accidentally said Vikie’s name with a weird tone in your voice, that Steve of course noticed. “And you’re not okay with it?” he questioned. “What? Of course i'm okay with it, she’s my best friend” you defend yourself. “Yeah right, I heard that tone when you said Vikei’s name. Why don’t you like Vikie?” Steve asked. “It’s not that I don’t like her, it’s the fact that- nevermind…” you quickly stop yourself. “No! No, you tell me what’s going on.” Steve pushes. “Fine! I have a crush on Robin! I’ve had a crush on her since we were 12, my crush on her has gotten worse! But I can't do anything about it! Y’know why?! Because I'm her best friend, and I'll always be her best friend and nothing more.” you tell Steve, and he looks shocked. “Well… Talk to her about it. Maybe she feels the same.” He suggests. “Doesn’t she tell you everything?” you ask, and he nods. “Can you ask her if she would ever date me? ONLY if she and Vikie arent dating. Please?” you beg. “Okay.” He says. Right after yours and Steve’s conversation, Robin comes into the store happy. Oh no… you think. “She wants another date!!” Robin says excitedly. “Oh..” you say, it’s all you can think of to say. “WE’RE happy for you Robin.” Steve said, with extra emphasis on the we’re. “Y/N? Are you okay? You look sick.” Robin asks, concerned.”y-yeah, im fine i just had bad food today…”  the lie slips off your tongue. “Okay… well go home and get some rest, yeah?” Robin suggests and Steve agrees. “Yeah, that's a good idea.” you say.You tell them bye and leave. 

As soon as you get home you start tearing up, why me?! You think. This feels like torture. You call Eddie to see if you can get some weed from him, “Why do you need it?” he asks. “It’s not important. Just give it to me please.” you tell him. “I usually charge $50, but since we’re friends, and you seem to really need it, I'll charge $25.” He tells you. “Thanks…” you tell him. After you took the weed and told Eddie goodbye, you went home and layed down.  

You fell asleep on your bed, and you were sleeping well until your phone started ringing. “Hello?” you ask tiredly. “Hi!” It’s Robin… “Hey Rob, what’s up?” you ask. “So, I was wondering if you’d wanna come to movie night tonight?”  she asked. “Uh- yeah, of course. What time?” you asked back. “Uhhhh. Hold on.” she says. “Dingus said it’s at 7:00. Don’t be late!” she said with a lot of energy before hanging up. You look down at your watch, the clock says 6:30. Shit you think. It’s a movie night, I need something comfy… You think, so you pick out a grey-ish green hoodie that Robin gave you 3 years ago for your 15th birthday, black leggings, and boots. You put your hair in a messy bun, and left. 

You got to Steve's house around 7:10, but they didn’t care. As soon as you walked in, you saw Vikie and Robin sitting next to each other, go figure, so you went into the kitchen to make popcorn. To forget about your jealousy against Vikie, you counted how many times you heard a pop. At the 13th pop, you heard someone clear their throat, so naturally you turned around, and in the doorway was Steve. “So…uh did you talk to-'' he pauses, nodding his head toward the room Vikie and Robin were in. “No, I haven't. And I can't!” You whisper-yell at him. “Why not?!” he whisper-yells back. “Vikie is in there! I can’t do that to vikie or robin!!” you say quietly. “Fine.” He finally gives up. “Thank you!” you say and walk out of the kitchen and into the living room. 

You sit next to Vikie, since Steve is sitting by Robin, and wait for Steve to start the movie. “So…Y/N, right?” Vikie asked. “Uh, yeah.” you answer, giving her a slight smile. “Robin talks about you. You guys are best friends, yeah?” She keeps asking questions. “Yes, yes we are. Is that an issue??” you ask. Vikie looks at Robin for a second, “No. Not at all.” She smiles. Then she leans in and whispers, “Don’t try anything. I heard you and Harrington in the kitchen. She’s mine and I’ve waited years for her, you’re not gonna take her away or I swear to god I’ll-” she got cut off by Robin asking if she was ok. Vikie nodded, and glanced back at you with an evil eye. You suddenly felt unnerved, and threatened. “I- I got to go to the bathroom.” You announce and stand up quickly. “Do you want me to pause the movie or-” Steve starts to say but you cut him off, “Nope! Keep it on. I don’t wanna make y’all wait a while…” you say as you run down to the bathroom and lock the door. 

A couple minutes later, you heard a knock on the door. “Knock knock, it’s me.” Said the voice. You knew that voice anywhere. It was Robin. So you pretend to be sick. “H-Hey Robs, what do you need?” you say, while throwing some coughs in the middle of talking. “Oh. Do you feel well?” She asks through the door. “Uhm- no. i don’t feel well, tell Steve i'm running a fever, please” you say. “Of course!” she says, sounding worried about you. 

Not even 5 minutes after Robin walked off, Steve knocked. “Can I come in?” he asks. “Mhm” you say. He opens the door and shuts it behind him, then he sits next to you. “What’s wrong?” He asks, worried. “I want to go home…” you tell him. “Why? What happened?” He throws questions around asking if you’re feeling ok, or if you’re hurt in any way. “Uhm- Vikie whispered something to me, and now i don’t know if i wanna stay…” You tell him about what she told you and how it made you feel. “What if she tells Robin?! Steve Vikie can ruin my friendship with Robin real quick. She heard us talking in the kitchen…” Your voice trails off. Little did you guys know, Robin was on the outside listening. She couldn’t believe that Vikie said that to you. But she also couldn’t believe that YOU liked HER. She felt like she was dreaming. She had a crush on you for years, but she could never imagine you liking her back, so she went after Vikie, in hopes to get rid of her crush on you, but it didn’t work. Robin was furious with Vikie. So Robin went up to her, “What were you thinking?! You can’t just threaten my friends!” Robin yells, so loud you and Steve hear it. “I- I don’t know what you’re talking about babe-” Vikie tries, but Robin stops her, “No! Don’t ‘babe’ me! I don’t like the fact that Y/N isn't in here with us, because you just had to start shit with her!” She yells. “It’s not my fault that she has a huge ass crush on you!” Vikie yells back. “What makes you think we’re dating Vikie?! We went on one date!” Robin says to her. Vikie looks shocked. “I- I thought-” Vikie can’t finish her sentence, because Robin keeps going. “No! I don’t date people who like being assholes to my friends! Espeically people who threaten my best friend! I’ve known Y/N way longer than anybody! So I have no issue kicking your ass out if it comes to her!” Robin says, still pissed. You walk out of the bathroom and Vikie looks at you like she’s gonna kill you. Robin catches this look and goes into protective mode, “Don’t even fucking look at her. She didn’t do shit to you.” This shocks everyone, including you. You’ve never seen her this protective. “You know what? Get out. I don’t want to see you around me or Y/N. Got it?” Robin asked. “But-” Vikie starts, “Get the fuck out!” Robin yells.  And Vikie leaves. “Robin, why’d you-” you start to ask why she ruined her love life for you, but she stopped you before you could finish, “Do you really like me…Y’know more than a friend?” She asks. You nod, shyly. “Thank god! I’ve liked you for a while now, but I was so scared to tell you and-” Robin started to ramble, so you shut her up by kissing her. After you guys pulled away you looked into her eyes, “Well you have me now.” You smile at her. You two totally forgot where y’all were, until Steve asked, “Are we gonna finish the movie now, or what?”

A mature bonkai reunion how would you approach it after or during legacies?

In regards to mature BK during legacies I'm unsure, I've never watched legacies but I know that Bonnie never appears in that show but Kai appears on it and the general opinion seems to be that he was ooc in it

I think something that would have avoided him being ooc in that show, might have been to have him paired in scenes with Bonnie, (but just to clarify I would never actually want Bonnie/ Kat to be anywhere near any of those writers, this is just hypothetically speaking)

I feel that he seemed most true to his character and he had more interesting reactions/ interactions when his character was paired with Bonnie.

I tried looking up Kai's storyline on legacies...but I just didn't really know what any of that was or who other characters were meant to really be except for like Jo's grown up twins and Alaric ? - freakin Alaric man ...anyways

I was so confused, I thought Kai was left chained up in Karaoke Hell prison world or whatever but for some reason in legacies theres all these other random people that were students? Being punished? Alaric sent them there? I think I'm misremembering what I read 😭

I'm sorry for the legacies rant, but since I didn't even watch anywhere close to all of TVD I'm even more confused about what's supposed to be going on with Legacies 😭😭

So im gonna have to leave legacies stuff out of this but for mature BK -after the events of TVD but ignoring the part where they randomly sent Bonnie off to Africa:

I'm thinking we have Kai in his Karaoke prison world, he's all bitter and angry and half-dessicated.

We have Bonnie, who on the outside seems to be doing good, maybe she's found some distant Bennett relatives, so she moves to where they are, it's a quiet town, there's a local witch community who her relatives introduced her to, she keeps in touch with the gang from Mystic Falls from time to time, all seems to be going well, but maybe too well ?

Maybe she's a little bored ? For the majority of her life she's been in the centre of so much mayhem, whether she wanted to be or not. She knows she deserves peace, she deserves to rest. It just seems like she doesn't know how though. She probably wouldn't describe herself as a thrill-seeker, yet she finds herself drawn to other people's problems -the witchy kind of problems that require witchy solutions... and maybe siphon solutions.

She doesn't know many siphoners, to her annoyance, they seem pretty rare and she wouldn't feel right forcing just any of them to do her bidding. Except, she knows one siphoner who she wouldn't feel guilty about ensnaring to join her cause.

And so, she gets him out (we all got that one prisoner we keep locked away in an alternate dimension, guys chill).

And our boy Kai is as vengeful as ever, he will obviously not make this easy for her and Bonnie knows this, so she takes some necessary precautions -a spell to ensure that he is bound to her in some way, but he is still a pretty powerful coven leader (nvm the fact that coven's population is very small now) so the spell comes with some stipulations -she is in turn bound to him.

The spell ensures they're not able to hurt each other past a certain degree, so cue a ton of psychological warfare on both sides as they both try and out-manipulate the other (it turns into a power play sort of situation *wink wink*).

❄️ What’s your dream theme/plot for a fic, and who would write it best?

I’ve been obsessing over the Predator movies (and the Alien movies, but more so Predator) lately and I’ve been trying to come up with a solid idea to combine the Yautja and Na’vi into another more extremely dangerous clan of Na’vi. I’m still trying to think of what traits I want to use to create this new clan but I’m super excited about what I think it could end up looking like. Like…very dark and dangerous hunting for sport clan and the reader gets hunted and somehow impresses the hunter so he becomes intrigued and obsessed with her (cause that’s so hot to me) but pushes her to the limit cause he’s sadistic. In terms of who I would want to write it . . . In a perfect world, @wheneclipsefalls would write this. It’s probs soooooo not her thing (and that’s totally ok), but her writing to me is phenomenal and well thought out and genuinely just makes my jaw drop with how good it is every. single. time. and I just know she would do it so much justice. (Love you, Eclipse 😘🧡)

🍦 Name three good things about a character you hate:

Doing Parker Selfridge for this one cause while I automatically wanted to say Quaritch, he's just straight up evil and Selfridge isn't IMO, which makes me hate him more cause he could be good if he wanted to be.

He doesn't seem to want violence or death - he actively tries to push for Jake and Grace to find a diplomatic solution to getting the Na'vi to move from Hometree and actually looked shaken as they watched Hometree fall which makes me believe he's not an all around bad person and has some kind of a moral compass (although he is an asshole about it 🙄)

He's very career & goal driven - while technically this is not an all around good thing cause he's essentially a corporate lacky and the mindset leads him to do some very bad things which makes him a 'bad guy', a 'right thing for the wrong reason' can be argued here. Stemming off of #1, there's a deleted scene that looks like it's right before the big war in Avatar 1 and he's freaking out that Quaritch is trying to use those huge explosives. It's moreso panic over unnecessarily wasting resources, but it would have prevented a lot of death and damage to the environment

He warned Jake that the war wasn't over - while this can be seen as mocking or vengeful, I think this is more of a genuine warning. After seeing how he reacted to the fall of Hometree and the deleted scene with Quaritch and the other deleted scene where the RDA base gets attacked by Max and other Avatars, I think he's a little too fucked up to be mocking. He knows that Project Phoenix is coming, he knows the war is far from over, and while he's not gonna explicitly tell Jake that, he did the best he could while being the person he is

🔥 I had to~ I always appreciate your level minded takes~ I honestly don't think that Jin or Kazuya will ever get the redemption arcs they deserve. Thoughts?

Most people say the point is Jin's not supposed to have a redemption arc in TK8, the point was him just moving on and learning to live with his sins. Which yeah, may be it, but most people still see it as a "redemption arc" when the Bad Guy is Good, and everyone's just friends with him now.

But you already know how I feel about Jin's characterization as a whole. When it comes to what he deserves, Jin should've never had to need a redemption arc to begin with. However, they definitely went about it wrong in T8. Which yes, again as I said above, technically Jin's story wasn't a "redemption arc". But we still had characters acting far too forgiving toward him when they shouldn't be. Jin asking, "do I deserve the right to desire life?" is sweet in the context of T8, but in the context of T6, it just makes you think "well buddy I'm sure those thousands you've killed also desired life, too." And again, you also find yourself questioning why this matters so much to Jin when it clearly didn't matter much to him in T6. I barely consider T8 to be Jin's "development" beyond him not wanting to die anymore, but instead just a return to basics (how he behaved in T3-T5) But Jin's arc of dealing with his T6 actions is over and I don't think they're really gonna revisit it again unless Miguel pops up and says "you killed my sister" and Jin says "sorry" and Miguel goes "oh right. Okay then."

As for Kazuya...

The problem is, I'm a very critical consumer. In fact, it's a surprise I haven't tried to become a more "professional" critic. I'm also a no-nonsense writer. When it comes to villains and if they're redeemable, I think there is a certain line they can't cross. Killing thousands of innocents, some potentially being children, is that line. However, clearly this works differently in Tekken. In Tekken, terrible actions aren't treated with the same weight that they're treated with in other stories or real life. Sure, nobody forgot what Jin did, but they also didn't exactly treat him like a mass murderer who's killed thousands, potentially millions. Lars doesn't act like Jin got his best friend (Tougou who?) killed, along with giving him and his girl PSTD, along with forcing his girl to fight her and "killing her", along with all the disrespectful, nasty things Jin said to Lars and the others.

I do think it's a high possibility Kazuya will be "redeemed" in T9, that we might see him and Jin make amends with each other. But I just don't think it's gonna be satisfactory to me. Canonically, both Kazuya and Jin's actions weren't worthy of a redemption that either didn't involve their deaths or them being virtual "outcasts" from society. I've had people try to argue with me, saying "but what about Vegeta from DBZ" - and it's like that's the thing. I don't really care for many animes or their tropes. Now, there are some animes I love. But... the majority of tropes and how it handles these villains is something I don't care for. So, if I watched DBZ, I'd probs be critical of that aspect, too, lol. Darth Vader is a character that comes to my mind because he was also a war criminal who killed millions, including children. He was redeemed, but only through death.

It's just hard to imagine Kazuya or Jin getting to live out happy, domestic lives after they've ravaged the world and ruined so many other lives. Of course, it's something I want more for Jin just because of the bad writing. Kazuya was always meant to be a villain or antagonistic character. He's been this way since T2. Jin, however, wasn't. Jin was only turned into this character in the 6th game after Harada insisted on it. But like, when the games tried to continue going with "Yah Jin did all that, what of it?" Then... yes, it is hard to imagine him living out a normal happy life with his only consequences for his many murders is just he felt bad about it and his daddy beat him up a few times.

T9's Kazuya will probs be a "slower" process than Jin, but in the end - he'll probs be redeemed by Jun's love, say "I won't try to kill our son anymore :3" and then help Jin defeat Reina.

So yeah. I just don't think neither will get a truly deep redemption arc, but honestly? It's about time where that much depth and consideration should be expected from the writing.

Also I guess an unpopular opinion of my own regarding Kazuya is that... I don't care if he gets redeemed honestly. As heartwarming as it is seeing the what ifs and him, Jin, and Jun being a happy family. I also just don't care if that happens or not. After all, not every villain needs a redemption arc. And with Tekken? We're at the point where they've been trying to convince us that Heihachi isn't that bad, and then they're trying to convince us that the motherfucking DEVIL cared about Jin and was actually good in a way. So like, not every character needs to be redeemed or needs a "oh wait, they're not as bad as you think!" As I said, it mattered so much with me about Jin because Jin should've never been depicted as a villain - it goes against his entire character and why I loved him. But Kazuya was always conceived as a villain. Therefore, the push for him to be redeemed just isn't as strong regardless of his tragic backstory.

And I mean that in all seriousness. Kazuya is a tragic character, but he's intentionally written as one. Not tragic because the writers did him dirty. Villain characters often are tragic and surrounded by tragedy. Because tragedy and trauma is what shapes many bad guys into the person they are. Not every villain with a tragic story needs a redemption arc - even if he does have loved ones, too.

Of course, this isn't to say I'm against Kazuya's redemption. I'm just explaining why I wouldn't care if it didn't happen.

Also im prob gonna write a prequel at some point bc i lowkey went off script and made a paragraph a lot more detailed (and darker) than I wanted to for this upbeat fic, so if you enjoy this be on the lookout!

(translation bank I used lol) You wouldn’t think a large anthromorphic panda would be so hard to find. But, alas i’ve spent the last twenty minutes playing a very one sided game of tag  and i’ve really had enough. “MAKI!” I call out to the green-ete, sparring on the field. 

“Yeah?” she replies, looking my way.

Yuuta, took that as his chance to try to land a hit, but Maki, as if she read his mind quickly swept him out from under his feet and he landed in a cloud of dust and a resounding ‘oof!’ 

“Sorry to catch you at a bad time.” I apologize as I make it  across the field to her. She shakes her head, “Nah, we’re finished.” she states as she dug her shoe into his chest. “Right?” Yuuta nods and taps out. I reach my hand out to pull him up. “You good?” He nods, finding balance again now that he’s upright. “I-” he wheezes, grasping his knees as he catches his breath. “I will be.” I clasp my hands together. “Well, im glad I caught you both, since I know you guys wouldn’t lie to me.” Maki raises an eyebrow. “Didn’t Yuuta lie about eating your leftover takeout the other day?” Yuuta pauses, before he nod’s guiltily . “But You can’t be upset with me! I bought you fresh takeout to make up for it and ice cream.” 

“Exactly!” I agree. “But the thing is, Maki wouldn’t lie to me, cuz she doesn’t  care enough to lie and would rather tell me straight up. You,” I point to him. “You can’t lie to me. It’s way too obvious, and besides it eats you up inside.”

He scratches the back of his neck. “Well, I guess you got me there. But what did you want to ask?”

I sigh. “Why has Toge been ignoring me? Originally he was just flaking on his lessons, but now he seems to be actively avoiding me. Hell, even Panda is running away from me now. I try not to run away from my problems, but now they are actively running away from me, so...” I throw my hands in frustration. “Any ideas?” 

“Oh he’s definitely  ignoring you.” Maki confirms. “He basically tucked and rolled out of breakfast today when you walked in.”

“I KNEW I SAW HIM!” I exclaim. “Panda just said I was seeing things, then dipped when I started asking questions.” I side eye a panicked looking Yuuta. “Like you are trying to do now.” He gulps. 

“I-im not, i just think Gojo-sensei is calling for me!” 

I roll my eyes. “Just go.”

He awkwardly nods before he books it down the training field, cronching half dried snow leaving just Maki and I to grace the field.

“You know no one was actually calling for him, right?”  Maki checks. I sigh. “Just like we all know Gojo’s currently on a mission.” I run my hands through my hair. “I’m too tired to press Yuuta on the details of whatever he’s hiding.”

“Emotionally or physically?”

“Both.” 

I plop down on the stairs and groan. “I don’t even know what I did!” “I doubt you did anything.” she replies as she settles next to me. “Boys are dumb. That’s not anything new.” I flutter my lips. “Yeah, I know. I just thought he was special.”

Maki awkwardly pats my back. Shes never been quite good with affection in any way, but its good to see shes growing. “There, there.”

I chuckle. “That was hard for you, wasn’t it.”

“A little bit, yeah.” We share a laugh.

“Look, Y/n. Whatevers going on with Inumaki will blow over soon. You’re acting as if you guys aren’t attached to the hip 24/7.  ‘looking like middle schoolers scribbling in that stupid notebook.” she kicks a stray pebble with her foot. “ Where is it  anyway?” she asks. Shes referring to the Lisa Frank notebook we pass back and forth. It was originally for JSL notes, but then it kinda devolved into a book of memes, random notes and crude drawings of Gojo whenever we found him especially annoying. Maki and Panda have both voiced their disdain for it, but for very different reasons. Maki finds the cute and bright colors obnoxious while Panda finds the cartoon panda riding a surfboard offensive, for some odd reason, since ‘pandas don’t ride waves’. To my knowledge they don’t make bad jokes or fight curses either, but here we are. I sigh. “It’s in my room. The last time it was used he scribbled some sorry excuse why he can’t come to our JSL lesson. Maki’s eyebrows furrowed. “Wasn’t your last lesson like a week ago?” i nod. “ A week tomorrow.” She says something under her breath, too fast for me to read. I sigh. “Maki,  you know I can’t hear people when they whisper like that.” 

She shrugs me off. “It wasn’t anything important. Just saying that Inumaki is dumb. Screw him. Anyways, are you still having your lesson with him tommorrow?”

“Thats the plan. If he even shows up.” I mutter the last part under my breath.

Maki’s eyes gain a glint, one im all too familiar with. “So what do you plan on doing with him? All alone? In your room?” She breaks down every part slowly.

“Uh, study? Probably eat snacks and look at shitty memes. What we usually do.  Why?”

She shrugs. “No reason. I was just wondering if you were gonna give him his homemade chocolates then in the confines of your room or when you are giving the others their store bought chocolate.”

I furrow my brows. “What are you talking about? Tomorows not..” my voice dies out as I check the date on my phone.

Feburary 13th.

The day before Valentines Day.

“Shit, shit SHIT!” I cry, grabbing my things. “I need to finish making the choclate!” 

Makki yells something in a retort but the only thing on my mind is the half finished chocolate bento in my room waiting to be filled with white chocolate onigiri and gummy takoyaki.

Toge was my first friend at the school. I was the new kid, the last of the five of us. I felt like every bond that could be made was already made between them and that there was no room for me. I mean I felt like that everywhere I went regardless, but when you are surrounded by powerful sorcerers and a freaking panda there’s not much a person can do to feel special. I didn’t come from a powerful bloodline or anything, I was just a girl with a cursed technique, and hell that doesn’t mean much when Maki can kick ass without one. I don’t think I spoke more than three words the first few weeks I was there, which threw  off everyone, especially since Toge tended to speak leaps and bounds over me and his vocab was limited to rice ball ingredients. It also didn’t help that I  kept to myself, despite Gojo’s constant encouragement ( and by that I mean nagging) to ‘be social, makes some friends, kiddo!’ The others all tried tried to be friendly in some way or another but Toge was the only one who was consistent despite me keeping him at arms length. He approached me when I was taking a hearing break, a time when the others wouldn’t attempt to bother me and usually gave me space. I was ready to brush him off when he did something unexpected. Using his left hand he made a turning motion against his left, then pointed at me before making a circling motion using both hands, then moving his right pointer finger to his cheek. 

How are you doing today?

The motions were a bit awkward, but fluent enough to see that he practiced the motions a few times. He was signing. I immediately lit up and starting waving my hands in ways that probably didn’t even make up any coherent signs, based on the look of confusion in his eyes. I learned then that Toge only learned how to sign ‘how are you doing today’ five minutes prior when he saw me turn down my aides because he wanted to be able to communicate with me in a way I was comfortable with. 

I can’t pinpoint it exactly, but i’m pretty sure that was the moment I fell in love with him.

Or at least knew that he was gonna be someone important in my life, but hey. I’m a jujitsu sorcer. What are we if not a tad dramatic sometimes. Have you met our teacher?

It was then that I soon found out how similar Toge and I are. Our cursed technique both involved our voices (he’s able to command others to do whatever he says, and I’m able to use a sonic scream to exorcise curses),and they both have the same drawback of having an extremely sore throat after using those techniques.

But the biggest challenge we share is how our cursed techniques have  both impacted our ability to communicate traditionally. Mine took that privilege away when I was just a little girl, unaware of the ability nestled within me. His, was sealed away at birth, only to be used in dire time of need. We also both had adapted and grown despite these challenges. He can talk to othes using rice ball ingredients and I use a hearing aide to make up for the percentage of what I lost using my technique wildly.  Most importantly we both are here to train to become powerful enough to make sure our techniques can never hurt ourselves and others. So maybe one day we could see them as gifts and not a curse. That realization is what pushed us to learn sign language fluently, something I was close to and he was definitely not. We wanted to make sure we could be most efficient in the field since rice ball ingredients can inky mean so many things and my aides can only help so much. Some days are going to be worse than others and we wanted to be prepared for that.

We also thought talking shit about people in front of them would be funny too, but mainly the first reason. 

So every Tuesday afternoon since has been a designated JSL day, spent looking over notes and books we got from the library or my own personal collection. I’d say we have improved drastically since, despite how easly distracted we can both be. Especially Toge, he went from being a total beginner in JSL to being able to hold a converstatiion with little trouble. I couldn’t  be more proud of him.

Well I technically could be.

I would be a lot more proud if he was actually here.

And hadnt blown me off.

Again.

ON VALENTINES DAY.

Y’know I would be less upset iif he left or note or something. But no. And he was suspiciously absent earlier this morning in class when I handed Panda and Yuuta their chocolates. Instead of getting complaints or teasing from them about how I decided to buy theirs compared to me spending hours making Toges, I got sympathetic looks instead. 

No one directly said anything, but we all knew what they were thinking. 

Poor Y/n. 

I passed the point of me just moping around feeling sorry for myself. Theres only so much hiding away under the covers in self pity a person can do without going a little stir crazy.

So now?

Now i’m just pissed.

I was about to grab the nearest throw pillow to scream about how boys are stupid and how imma wring his platinum blonde ass, hoping I wouldn’t accidently overload it with cursed energy and tear apart my room (again) when i hear a shlick from under my door. 

Slowly creeping towards the door I see that something was slid under the door.

A tiny, pocket notebook.

What the hell?

I flip the tiny notebook open to read;

Written in a glitter pen. My glitter pen he most likely stole. I scoff, rolling my eyes. Yeah, no. You don’t get to be all cute and shit after ghosting me.  But then I move my thumb to find;

Damn. An excessive use of smiley faces. He must be desprate. I groan to myself. I was never gonna win that anyway. Toge has be under his thumb and I bet he knows it at this point. 

I slide on my coat and shoes and head out the door.

Toge’s and I’s ‘spot’ was an abandoned gazebo on the other side of the school. We found it one day after running away from the consequences of our actions, or his actions to be exact. I’m not one for pranks, especially when it includes angering a giant panda. I don’t know why Toge thought it was a good idea to put itching powder in Pandas hairbrush (I didn’t know that Panda  used a hairbrush either, but thats for another time), he’s seen him mad enough to  rip a tree in two with just his hands (paws?). Whatever the case, Toge ripped me away  from a peaceful convo with Yuuta with a hurried “Tuna!” and a grab (yank) of my hand. I was going to resist but I knew the thumping vibrations of a pissed off Panda when I feel them so and took that as a sign to run as fast as my feet could take me and chew out Toge later. My feet just so happened to take me

Here. 

I carefully step down the beaten path. The dead and dried leafage I pushed past  almost crumbled upon impact, a stark contrast to the fight they put up in the summer, scratching and ticking to our uniforms like we first found what would be our secret spot and hideaway from all the others and sometimes, the world itself. 

As I  snake down the path, avoiding larger sticks and pots of mud I see flickers of light leading me, calling me, to the gazebo

Stars? No, too bright. 

Candles. 

And by the looks of it, lots of them.

What is going on?

As I finally venture past the leafage my suspicions were confirmed. In front of me stood a beautiful ring of candles supported by a path leading me up the cricket old stairs into the heart of the gazebo that stood

Toge. 

The candles highlighting his slightly tense body making him have an otherworldly glow, his hands grasping a bouquet of flowers.

“Toge? W-what the hell is all this?” I stammer, slowly making my way to him.

“Tuna.” he hands me the bouquet, well more like stiffly shoves into my hands

“For me?”  I ask as I awkwardly grasp the bouquet. He nods. 

Then he takes a deep breath in before using his pointer finger and thumb to lightly grasp the bridge of his nose, then placing the same hand diagonally acoss his face, pushing away from him. 

I’m sorry.

He tries to keep my gaze, but his eyes keep fluttering away.

Is he.. Is he blushing? 

I’ve really been an idiot. 

He signs, moving his hand while opening his pointer and middle finger apart from each other. 

I was just so nervous that somehow you would find out about this surprise, that I avoided you.

He’s signing so flawlessly, has he been practcing without me

You mean so much to me, I really just wanted to do something big and special for you, because you deserve everything and more.

Is.. Is this a confession? My heart beat picks up faster and faster by the minute. Time feels so fast, yet impossibly slow as he signs once more.

He stalls for  a minute before moving his hans so fast that I could barely read them.  Moving his two fingers in a swirling motion then pulling them down, Toge then rubs his right hand over his fist, multiple times.

You see, in JSL, like Japanese, there are many ways to say I love you. To show love between friends, you bring your middle finger and thumb of your dominant hand and bring it your chest, closing them upon impact, bringing that hand down,  then pointing at the person in question. 

To confess to having feelings for another person, you point to yourself, before putting your pointer finger and thumb under your chin, then pointing to the person you are referring to. 

But to show deep passionate love, you move your fingers in a swirling motion, pull them down before using that same hand to rub your fist.

Just what Toge was doing.

“You,” I start slowly. “You love me?” His cheeks lit up in flames. 

“Bonito flakes!” My face falls for a split second before he shakes his head aggressively, “Salmon!” 

I tilt my head in confusion. “What are you trying to say? 

He grumbles,diving into his pocket to look at a crumpled piece of paper.  I squint my eyes to get a better look the paper, the candles could only illuminate so much, but from what I could see Toge made a photocopy from the back of my JSL book, specifically the signs of love. 

We haven’t went over that part yet, when did he learn this?

The page showed the three different ways a person could announce their love, shoving the page back into his pocket he tries again, starting the motions to confess, but I already knew what he meant. 

He was about to put his fingers to his chin before I tackled him in a hug, flowers long forgotten. “Tuna!” he yelps, caught off guard, before settling into my touch.

“I understand.” I clarify, slowly unzipping his collar, “And,” I add, holding his pale cheek staring into his beautiful amethyst eyes. 

“I love you, too.” I whisper, closing the distance.

His lips were a bit chapped, but soft nonetheless and were gentle, almost shy against mine. His hand was about to move off my shoulder and to my chin before he stopped and pulled away quickly, his relaxed body stiffening into a fighting stance.

“Wha-” I say, still dazed from the kiss.

“Show yourself.” he demands to a seemingly harmless bush, his words dripping cursed energy.

Four heads then pop out of the bush in sync. 

“Panda, you idiot, you got us caught!” Maki

“Me? No way! It was totally Yuuta. He’sthe one cryling like a baby!” Panda

“What! I sniffled ONCE! How are you souless monsters not tearing up?” Yuuta

“He’s right, that was quite beautiful. My beautiful students! They grow up so fast! And Gojo?! 

“What the hell are you guys doing here!” I interrogate the four. God, where they watching the whole time? They had to have been, with half of them sporting smug faces (Maki and Gojo) and the other half embarrassed and guilty . “Who did you think planned this?” Maki retorts. My jaw drops. “B-but you said-” 

“I didn’t say shit, you just assummed.” she corrects. “But you were right, I don’t like to lie and rather be honest. But I can keep a secret.” she winks. “I’m just the only one who isnt glaringly obvious.” she side eyes he others who look away bashfully. Except for Gojo, who pipes in with “Oh, I just found out myself while they were planning and couldn’t miss missing this beautiful declaration of love.” he wipes a invisible tear for dramatic effect even though he’s wearing a blindfold.. Weirdo. Maki ignores his statement, or doesn’t give it any thought as she adds; “I’m not gonna lie, watching you two pine and whine for each other was painful though, glad you guys finally did something about it.”

“i-It wasn’t that bad!”

“Yes, it was.” they all reply in unison, even Gojo, which garners a few weird looks. 

“Hey! I’ve had to watch them give each other doe eyes in class for months!” he shares. “Why do you think I always placed them together on missions?”

“Um- Cause we work well together?” I intervene.

He shrugs. “You both work well with everyone, I was just doing the lord’s work.”

That then caused the other three to bicker and complain about who helped progress ‘their ship’ the most.

“Fish flakes…” Toge muttered. “Yeah.” I agree. “I can’t believe we associate with them.” “Salmon.” 

“Whatever!” Maki shouts over the bickering. “Now that the work is done, no matter who helped,” she eyes the other three “lets just discuss whats most important.”

I tilt my head in confusion.

“How much you suckers owe me! Pay up, losers!” 

A series of groans follow as each of them all pull out their wallets (don’t ask me where Panda got his from, I don’t know. He once pulled out a box of tissues from his fur, I stopped asking questions about what he can and can’t do after that.) “Wait a damn minute!” I exclaim. “You were betting on us?!” 

“Hey, you should be thankful! I was the only one who said you would kiss him first!” she reveals, grabbing 2000 yen from each of the guys.

“Gojo?! You too?!”

He shrugs. “Toge, you really let me down. That was my daifuku money.” he reveals sadly.”

“Bonito flakes!” he retorts, eyebrow twitching. 

I shake my head. “That is so disrespectful guys.” I state. “Welp, now that thats out of the way, Maki you better give me half.”

This is going to sound like a rant because well it's a rant and I'm getting the worst colds in my life this month and I'm under the effect of powerful meds lmao

First things first. Thank you so much for sharing the beautiful ❤️ picture of your sweetest bestest boy Billy, and very sorry for your loss.

Then, been reading your last posts as well as the one from yesterday (?) about mourning the image Chris had sold and i can't agree more but i have my own take. I hadn't been a fan for long, started around 2019, i never cared about cap or marvel, came to like him because he seemed a decent actor and not too problematic (had heard about his philandering, fuckboi ways, knew about minka & jenny, etc etc) and tbh it's not only the disney pr machine, his interviews where he parrots about wanting a wife and kids without actually doing anything conducive to that, or my own delusions (i don't think too highly of myself lol I'm not a raging beauty or anything special so of course I thought a peasant like myself would never have a chance with Captain all american internet bf), but there were people inside the fandom who were also hardcore promoting that image of him, that he was essentially a nice guy who was looking for stability. I believed those tall tales. I found the lily james stuff annoying already but stuck around. Enters instagram. All i see is young girls (I'm on the older side, therefore too old for grandpa evans) going nuts about likes and follows. Didn't really pay too much attention, i wanted to believe he was better than this. Then along comes Alba. A literal nobody -for reference I'm typing this from Europe, yeah no one knows her here- and all the assumptions i had made about him come crumbling down. She's an unknown and untalented 'actress' who dropped out of hs, not tall or particularly beautiful and the only thing she's good at is looking younger than her actual age and also taking off her clothes. It sounds ridiculous and parasocial yup but there were a couple nights i couldn't sleep because one of my faves had become a total joke in my eyes. I'm staying not even for the dragging but for people like you, maddy, ginger, mar and the female friendships i made on here and insta. I'm repulsed by him. I think he's the typical creep who once they turn 40 they start chasing the young ones to relive their glory days. He'll never find the love he claims to want, cuz prob he doesn't really want it. It's obvious he hasn't grown a bit not even after Slate. He hasn't learned a single thing, about himself, women, life... He'll remain stunted. And i agree with what you're saying about his self-esteem, but he's said arrogance is his biggest flaw so I do think now his 'pissiness' w the fandom and why he doesn't anything only trollba dumps is because he's somehow mad his fans didn't fall for his shit this time, girls found her nasty roles and photoshoots and let's be honest i doubt his hollywood colleagues are impressed with his sugar baby. I don't think he'll ever change or get therapy, which is sad. And i also have the feeling he only went public with this chick because his fans once again caught him with the hand in the cookie jar. So he's still trying to sell that he's a great serious committed bf. Who flies you back in economy, draws stuff on your chin and records you while he makes you look stupid. Personally, I don't think it's a hand in the cookie jar situation (because that cookie jar was breadcrumbed from for months before the first NYE trip took place), but don't know exactly how to explain the whole mess.

Would love to know your thoughts on all the sneak peaks that we’ve seen so far like the trailers and everything. Also your thoughts on the changes made to sokkas character. I don’t know if you heard but it apparently they want to get rid of some of his early Scenes because of his sexism. Also just recently they are changing some things about Katarina because I guess they don’t think some of her personality will translate well in live action.

Oh hey! Sorry it's been so long, sorry I've basically disappeared off tumblr. But I still love Avatar of course and warms my heart to hear people like it when I talk about it.

Sigh, the live action. I'm going to watch it when it comes out tomorrow, of course, and I remember being cautiously optimistic when it was first announced. But between Bryke leaving and the info we've been getting, idk. Visually, it looks really solid. The CGI is a bit too plasticky at times for how much it allegedly costs but the costumes are great, the cast seemed good from the beginning and bending itself, I have to say, looks sick.

But these are just aesthetics. Sure, the infamous movie didn't even get that right but being faithful to and respecting the source material is a lot more than just looking great in live action. Since you've sent this ask, more interviews have come out where they talk about changes made to not only Sokka's character but pretty much everyone's. Aang is less of a goofy kid escaping responsibility. I fear the larger presence of Ozai and Azula will make Zuko too sympathetic too early. Not to mention, apparently he's more so doing what he's doing to win the war not to regain his honour? A rumour I've heard.

I haven't heard much about changes made to Katara but, being Katara's no. 1 fan forever and always I'm sure I wouldn't be happy with any changes haha. With her my main fear is just making her less significant, missing the point of her being a sort of POV character and deuteragonist, and missing important beats such as Imprisoned and The Waterbending Scroll. Some variation of especially the latter may appear but come on, it's 8 episodes trying to tell the story of 20. Unfortunately, Book 1 Water is by faaaar the hardest Avatar book to adapt to modern and live action TV and even though the episode list seems solid, it's those quieter ch centric episodes that will suffer the consequences. That's where Katara thrives. Jet is included so I wonder how they'll handle that crucial storyline and it sets in motion a TON for Katara that all culminates, of course, in her magnum opus The Southern Raiders. I just don't see them doing it justice.

I'll inevitably be at least a little more active with the premier of this show and will share thoughts; idk about a proper review but might vent here or there. I'd love to share thoughts on particular topics people are interested in haha. But until then, on this last day before the Fire Nation attacks and everything changes, I will say this. I think the things they've said so far about character changes are misguided. Sokka's sexism isn't a bug storytelling-wise, it's a feature. It's called character development, look it up, Albert Kim. Now, I'll have to admit that his sexism and the larger gender politics of the Water Tribes is actually an aspect of the show, one of the very few aspects that I think could use quite a bit of improvement, so I wouldn't be against the Netflix show doing this differently. But if they do just omit it that's a grave error. Despite the flashy visuals it doesn't bode well so far, but we'll see. I'll watch it as soon as I get home from work and then probs rewatch the original then rewatch the Netflix one. Oh, the Avatar megafan in me awakens. Btw guys lol I never even updated y'all, I went to the London concert of the soundtrack and it was doooope.

I need to know more about Matthew. Did he start his own family? It would be great if Spider had half-siblings! Quaritch probably felt even more threatened by this LOL. What does he think about Spider being named after Quaritch? If Paz hadn't died and he would found out about her decision, would he have wanted to share care at some point and take Spider, for example on weekends? If so, what would Quaritch think about it then? Did he regret his absence from his son's life at any point?

These are great questions and I don't know the answer to all of them yet, but I reckon the next chapter will have to answer them so I better get thinking!

If Paz had told him she wasn't going through with the abortion, I think he'd have been pretty miffed. He wasn't planning to start a family (at least at that point in his life) and certainly not with his one night stand. Judging by the fact that he readily offered to pay his part for the abortion I could see him reluctantly saying he'll send her money for the kid, but that it was on her to do the raising part since she wanted to have him. I don't think he would have wanted him on weekends or anything like that. I do think if he'd accidentally bumped into Paz and met Spider then he might have wrestled with himself on that - as Q said, Spider was a very sunny child and there's clearly a resemblance to Matthew, so both those factors might have made him waver if he'd actually met him. But probably he'd have still ended up not pursuing it - after all, he hardly gave Paz a follow up call to check the abortion went ok/that she was ok!

I'm pretty sure he didn't find out Spider existed till Paz died and even then it was probably more of a guess. Like Spider's age would be there in the news and Matthew could do the maths... but he might also be hoping he's wrong somehow. He didn't go looking for him then and I think he was afraid to find out definitively that he had a son, so he stayed well clear. (If he'd accidentally met Spider before then he would know for sure and the guilt would be more intense so there might have been a chance in that case that he'd try to get him).

I don't think he has a single issue with Spider being called Miles. I'm sure when he heard about the murder he thought how tragic it was that the guy she'd trusted so much (hence the name thing) had been the killer. But he prob thinks its not his problem/not his business.

I'm sure he has had some moments of light guilt over the last nine years given that he strongly suspected Spider is his.. but not enough to do anything about it. Until perhaps now... but also he may just be in it for the money/fame as Spider has concluded, so we shall see on that count.

I don't know if he has his own family now.. will need to think about that. I also don't know if he's going to survive Quaritch lol, so that's something to think about too.

And hopping back but if he had joint custody with Paz or visitation or something, I do think Q would loathe it, but assuming Matthew was a good dad he wouldn't fight it. He'd just offer to take Spider at any given opportunity - like if Matthew was due to have him one weekend Q would be saying 'hey, you should go to that ball game with your partner on Sunday, I'll take Spider, no problem, you guys go have fun, actually, I could take him on Sat night, why don't you go catch a movie and chill out' kinda vibes. I don't think Matthew would be keen on Quaritch at all! But also I do see him allowing himself to be persuaded a lot! <3

So, I was trying to figure out a bit of the timeline for a fic and found this interesting (to me) something here: (this is a fun analysis and probs won't go in the direction you expect lol)

The events between Retrace 42 to Retrace 45 happen over one and a half day at the most. Something in this order:

Break wakes up after being bedridden for three days, finds that he is almost fully blind,

Oz and gang have a discussion in his bedroom,

They prepare to find the second seal at Rytas' place, Sharon insists on joining them

They arrive at the village as per Duke Barma's orders and meet up with Gruner

Next day: The fight between Marie and Oz goes down, Rytas acknowledges his right to be shown the seal

Finally the Head Hunter attacks, kills every one present and destroys the Seal.

Next, in Retrace 45, we find Vincent and Ada on a date and they discuss the Head Hunter as well. (which is being discussed at around the same time by Leo and Elliot)

He asks her to tell everything about herself, her father, her uncle Oscar whom he is targeting for the Key to the Door of the Abyss. And this, if you remember, he mentions as part of his plan to obtain the Key in his discussions with the Baskervilles in Retrace 46.

Which means... the Vince-Baskervilles discussion happened before his date with Ada, or let's say, sometime after the Head Hunter attacked Rytas Mansion. Or, maybe, even on the same day cuz, of course, news spreads fast, you know.

Same day, the day the Seal got destroyed, which if you keep count of, is 3/3.5/4 days after the Sablier Arc, the day after Break woke up.

So here, the second seal has already been destroyed and Lottie is questioning why the chain Head Hunter, having some involvement with the Nightrays, is destroying the seals (supposed to be the Baskervilles' job)

Well, we know the answer to this, but that's not the interesting thing I wanted to point out.

It's that Lottie was mad af right from the start of this conversation. She is so grumpy here and even slams the seat to silence the group, which.... is so unlike her.

Because, she is usually the noisy and talkative one in this group. Back in the Lutwidge arc, Fang was struggling to keep her under control when they kidnapped Oz. (It's only after Fang died, she became full-on depressed.) But here, Fang, who is the voice of reason in this little ragtag group, is carefree and chatty and playing with Lily. Even the silent Doug is playing chess with Vincent.

It's strange that only Lottie should be so serious and frustrated here.

On reading this for the first time, I assumed this conversation is happening a week after the Seal was broken. annnnd, so, it didn't make any sense to me why she should be mad for so long either. She generally gives me the impression of being cool headed over most things.

But this is just utmost four days after Sablier.

So, my (not so) secret headcanon is that she is still mad, not at the Baskervilles for not getting to the second seal fast enough, not at the Head Hunter for breaking the seal either..... but at Break (lmao) cuz she is still not over what happened to her. As in, she is still confused frustrated because she couldn't get why and what the guy was aiming at?

As I said, this is interesting to me cuz I wanted to see her reaction after Sablier. I thought we never see it cuz the next time we see Break and Lottie interact again is at Isla Yura's place. They never ever openly react to anything nor openly give their inner thoughts that I have to pick up from small things like this.

Anyway, to continue, I imagined the Vince-Ada date in Retrace 46 and the dungeon scene happens as a continuity to the one in Retrace 45. that is, Vince and Ada roamed around the park for some time, visited the opera following which she takes him home.

But, their clothes are different in both? I suppose these are different dates they went on.

So no clear timeline of when the Opera Hall date happens. But the one in the park is definitely after he discusses his problem and solution of targeting Uncle Oscar through Ada with the Baskervilles.

These scenes happen a week later, though.

well I've had an interesting first week of the year back at work. I managed to get through to my usual doctor this week, which is a bit of a miracle, considering she's always back late jan/early feb each year. she's recommended 3 places for me to ring to follow up on a probable ADHD diagnosis. the best one is one in Sydney, in Bondi.

but to do all of their tests would mean I'd try to jam them into a week, if I could (probs not let's be real), or each time I do one I spend on a hotel room to stay up there, since I just wouldn't feel bothered to the 2 hour drive home after 8 hours of tests. but the Sydney one gives you a brain scan which would be super cool. but also if you managed to get bulk billed, it's $1,200. also they don't focus on meds, they focus on "brain based" and behaviour change stuff.

the other 2 places are local to my area, but you have to ring to find out their prices. but on the other hand, my doc said to leave all this stiff until after I have my colonoscopy that's booked for a couple weeks from now, on the 16th.

work is better since I'm not at a tired low point like I was at the end of last year. my boss is a bit happier that I'm turning up at the office at around 8:50 roughly and set up by 9. but yeah I hate having to cut my pre work bed relax after my bath each morning to 7:15 to get out the door by 8;20. but rn 8:20 is only working bc it's the school holidays so I'm not locked into the mronjng school run traffic and school zones right next to my house (basically). so it means I will have to bother to leave at 8:15 or whatever when school starts back up again on jan 31st.

but yeah. I still haven't handed in any of my unfinished (or unstarted) cadestship assessments; bc I forgot right before we left of chrissy/NY break to ask our outsourced IT guys to set up our VPN access app (it just gives you a code to type in) on my phone to access the work hard drive at home lmao. so I've meant to start this week, but I just haven't.

aside from work, the other interesting thing is that someone from the catholic school I went to for years 7-10 from 2008 til 2011, decided to invite me to a 10 year reunion that someone else from our year group from that school set up on Tuesday on fb for October this year. and I was just so surprised that someone bothered to remember me and invite me.... and I feel kinda touched tbh lol. bc i didn't even graduate with them properly, in a way, in 2013, bc I obvs graduated at the public school that I transferred to. it's so random that someone thought to invite me all these years later.

and I'm also stressing over the event a little. mostly on the level of what to wear to it, obvs lmao. but also, most of these people are successful working in good jobs. or they run their own successful local businesses/take over their parentd businesses.

while, on the other hand. I finish my cadetship in march, and I have no idea whether i'll be kept on where I am or whether I'll be somewhere else or jobless lmao. but anyway. it's going to be so weird seeing anyone from that school again, when half of them have kids and are married now or some have even divorced or split from their partners that they married in our early 20s (or at least that's what I've deduced from their name changes on fb back to their original last name I knew them by in school).

also im bitterly jealous of a few of them because they've bought their first house or have a second house and are using their first as an investment property. like bruh. am I the only one who still hasn't moved out of home yet??? and obvs there are obvs other people renting but still. am i the only one still at home??? I don't want questions about that tbh.

like is it even worth catching up with these people, when I still remember the derision I got from one of the girls from my group from that school, when I ran into her at uni back in 2016??? how she told me that everyone was actually SO GLAD that I'd left bc apparently they were all secretly harbouring embarrassment for my behaviour and my "attention seeking" or whatever the fuck she said to me???? but also part of me hopes that rich boy goes and is happy to see me and I'll get to congratulate him in person on his engagement or perhaps being married by the time this event happens (if it even does lmao). and that's my other thing. could just be an elaborate joke where they do this, and I turn up, but NO ONE is there???? like hello trust issues, aren't you looking very sexy this week.

I suppose that I should open by saying that I have a pet peeve for superhero and urban fantasy shows to such an extent that they are the bad guys in my self-insert lore.

Now that I have torpedoed my attempts to gain a following on this site I should say that I actually remember liking it here. Getting all the formatting stuff right is going to be a little adventure on my part but hey I did some coding stuff in Uni (I did not finish Uni). The only real reason I never made an account here is because, well, exactly the time I would have made an account happened to align with, you know, that time where a lot of the people I would have been following were banned for posting lewd stuff. I understand they have reigned that back and allow it if it's properly tagged- which it should be- but I'm gonna have to comb the fine print there before I push it.

I will confess that at this point my knowledge of the state of this site is vague to the extent that I'm mostly here to follow people who went here before other places, especially considering I seem to be the sole VTweeter that is not on Insta or Tiktok. In fact, as most of my output is art, I may end up frequenting art sites more often. In fact, I was met with decent traction on my backup acct immediately.

Yeah it's probs Newgrounds now even if I'm not quite doing numbers there yet. But I'm likely to crosspost everywhere when possible. This may end up partially replacing my current Wix blog if I can get it to display info in the encyclopedic format I want for the sake of loreposting.

There'll be a better intro later- this is me getting my bearings and asking for help with that from friends. Tumblr is my most likely outright replacement for Twitter once I learn due to it having a similar capacity for being able to scream into the void and have your friends say "lol" beneath it, even if at a glance Newgrounds is my more likely portfolio site and Wix is gonna be where a lot of long-form posts end up. Will twitter collapse? Well one of my friends, who is a mushroom, she is cool, thinks not- that the businesses that rely on Twitter will be waiting like vultures to pick it up if Elon steps down. This makes sense- the brands all find value in Twitter because it's popular. It's a feedback loop they exploit for outreach.

But Elon does not make sense.

Why did he launch a car into space? It was because it was an easy way to get haha funny internet points. Why did he buy Twitter? And why might he, I believe to be in the cards, destroy Twitter, out of spite, at his own loss?

It's not like I'm sitting here weeping, the follower grind I had to where I'm at aside. Like I'm at 282 last I checked, that's pretty nice, and I hope my regulars are checking my new sites. I don't think Twitter was some sacred grounds as a lot of strawmen are painted. It was just convenient and cool people are there. Were there. Half expecting it to be gone when I tab back over just out of sheer jinxing lol. I really should have done all this earlier. Got pretty complacent with the idea that the situation had stabilized. Alas, Society.

I am, as with all sites I am spreading my high-aspect-ratio membranous wings into, eager to check this out and meet new people. I just hope I don't have to start from zero.

I’ll accept the cupcake title for this but I am weirded out by the way you talk about Jack and Saoirse sometimes. You do say she’s obsessed with him and all of that. But there was a point where to you there was no way she had a crush on him early on, it was impossible for you to believe she would’ve liked him for whatever reason and you never really explained why you felt that way? And it was weird because you have said that they are very well matched and that he’s a catch and that she’s obsessed but at the same time, the way you talked about that sounded like you thought she was superior and couldn’t possibly have thought he was good looking at all. Now, no one compared Jack to Daniel Day Lewis, no one. But you went out of your way to say that Jack is nowhere near Daniel Day Lewis, which I agree with, but the way you brought it up sounded like you wanted to take him down a peg. You were asked if you thought Saoirse was subjective when it comes to Jack’s acting, you said no, someone pretty much said “well, she has exaggerated how good Timothee is so it wouldn’t surprise me if she exaggerates how good Jack is” but you felt the need to laugh about the fact that Jack isn’t as good as Daniel Day Lewis and there’s no way Saoirse could think he’s a better actor than he actually is. I know I am being very cupcakey here, and I accept that, but the way you talk about Jack’s acting always bothers me. I do think Joe and Jack are around the same and there’s a whole host of British boys their age or around their age in the category with them too; I think sometimes I get more defensive of Joe because he has absolutely insane antis like if someone was saying like HE is Day-Lewis I’d also be like “lmao nah bruh not really”.

I think it’s normal to hype your partner up, and all this started with how we said Saoirse knows like Jack isn’t the greatest because it’s something she’s legitimately one of the greatest at, but Taylor thinks Joe is the greatest actor, which he isn’t (but seems to have fairly realistic if hypeguy opinions on his music).

I think Saoirse sees Jack’s acting like how Taylor sees WB’s contributions like there’s hypeguy behavior but they know it’s not as good as like… them.

But also like y’all I think it’s healthy to think your partner is the hottest, coolest, funnest, smartest person alive idk. I also think it’s healthy to know when you’re better than them at something - like I think 100% of people I’ve dated have been less funny than me although objectively still funny but if I dated like Cameron Esposito or Tiffany Haddish I’d actually probs get really insecure about that. I also think it’s healthy to know that your partner isn’t the best like even if you think they’re great - if my partner thought I’m as funny as Cameron I’d be like “no dude” and ya.
