How do the bros handle a s/o with absolutely no filter? They say whatever is on their mind the second it enters their mind. Sometimes it’s something cute like dubbing Sania “The Frog Queen”. Loudly announcing “bastard spotted” to Ardyn’s face is a bit rude but hey everyone else was thinking it too. Then there’s asking apropos of nothing if Ravus has ever picked his nose with that claw-like prosthetic and caused himself a nosebleed lol

Hahaha I relate to this a lot. I’m a no filter type of person. I’m way to honest in my opinions, thoughts and whatever bullshit I’m thinking.

Noctis

Oh! Just remembered a little more! Does anyone pick up on the people/places that he shouldn't know? Do they assume that Nox got some of it from Noct, like with the Marelith? Or are they assuming LC/ Oracle DNA mix?

Me: Yes, Regis asks about the papers and Titus doesn’t OUTRIGHT admit he did an illegal but he does grudgingly explain that he needed papers in case the NIfs came looking and he ... knows ... a few people who can help ... “recreate” papers for refugees who lost theirs in whatever fire or tragedy drove them from their homes.

Regis mulls over that for ten long seconds then blatantly pretends he never heard it in the first place. Those “people” likely saved the life of his son and half-brother, he can let it slide this once.

I need Nyx Ulric to adopt these two now JUST so Nyx can tease that he’s related to Captain (then later when he learns that they’re Lucis Caelums he can quietly die in a corner because OH NO HE’S RELATED TO THE KING). Not sure how or when Nyx adopts them, but he absolutely does.

It probably happens when he's just a wee bit sloshed. Not enough to be incoherent or insincere, but enough that he doesn’t feel any fear offering to adopt the pair while babysitting them because Captain had to work late and Nyx is off the combat roster until his ankle heals. Once he’s sober he is a Panic™, but Captain takes it surprisingly well and Nox loves his new braid. Acastus just looks Amused™.

Lib slaps Nyx over the head because IDIOT THINK THIS STUFF THROUGH then gives him another drink because TWO MORE ULRICS. It’s a good thing Nyx is an Ulric Keeper in this AU, because he can teach them most of the Ulric Clan stories and dances and make them proper Ulrics.

Acastus loves introducing himself as Acastus Ulric Drautos, both because it’s fancy like “Lucis Caelum” is and also because it made both Titus and Nyx spit their coffee the first time they hear it.

The Galahdians ... have mixed feelings at first. But the predominant one is that it doesn’t matter that this kid is clearly related to the Chancellor (at first they all think the Chancellor bedded Captain’s Aunt, since they don’t know about the LC blood, and that’s why he looks like Ardyn) because Captain has clearly staked a claim on him. Galahd (in my HCs) is a Very Adoption Heavy culture and big on judging people by their current family rather than any previous blood ties, so ... mostly the Chancellor thing gets intensely ignored. Acastus isn’t an Izunia, he’s a Drautos (and then later an Ulric). So they will treat him as such.

But in private there is some debate on exactly what happened, for the Chancellor to vanish around the time his ... relation (son? They mostly assume son), shows up in Drautos’s care.

No few number of them think Titus stumbled on Ardyn with the two kids and killed the Chancellor to save them.

For Nox ... the Lucis Caelum blood is basically impossible to hide. This boy LOOKS like a literal carbon copy of the Prince but younger and he’s young so his control over his magic is ... not. Not that good. Especially not when there’s so mUCH of it.

All of Galahd listened to the Glaive who was on babysitting duty when Nox had a rare tantrum and skewered the wall with ghostly blades and all privately, immediately agree to Never Tell Anyone. Ever.

Well. To be fair, they do debate whether they have a duty to tell Regis, but again the Adoption Culture comes into play and they decide it’s up to Titus to spill that secret. A few Glaives do ask Titus about it (Titus nearly has a heart attack because SINCE WHEN DID THEY KNOW) and when they ask if they know who the mother was, Titus looks very grim and very, very quiet for a long time, then admits:

There is no mother. There never was.

They stare at him in confusion until Acastus, lurking nearby with too-sharp eyes, gives a smile that could cut and says brittlely that “amazing things that can be done with science these days you know. Truly amazing. Why, get a blood sample and a tank of the right solutions and you could probably grow anything you wanted”.

The Glaives are Horrified™. So is the rest of Little Galahd when it gets around and then is made a Clan Secret by all the Clans unanimously. The secret never leaves the borders of their little slum.

Also yes, people assume that Noctis’s and Nox’s magic resonated because Nox is a clone and it freaks them out.

Regis is Such A Guilt when he finds out how Acastus knew about Noctis’s injury. No it doesn’t matter that he DIDN’T KNOW NOX EXISTED. One of his son’s (his FIVE YEAR OLD son) was suffering. Was screaming in agony and terror and Regis didn’t do a THING about it and no amount of logic can make that better.

Nox latches onto Axis’s triplets in this AU so while Iris will be best friends with him, his Shield, Hand, and Sword are actually all made up of Axis’s three kids. Axis is a BIT of an internal Scream when Nox is at the age people start making noises about him building a Retinue and taking Iris as his Shield and Nox goes, “NO. I have a Shield already! A Hand and Sword too!” And stuff spirals out to reveal Axis as Clarus’s kid (Clarus takes it much better than Axis thought he would, tho Axis didn’t expect to see Lord Amicitia go deathly pale and sit down hard in the nearest chair).

Honestly Iris might be the future love interest in this AU you never know. It would be hilarious if nothing else.

Bold of you to assume Acastus didn’t find Prompto early and bring him home to NOX because “Look Beloved Nibling I Found You A Friend!”. Prompto is a confusion because Nox is like- 4 at the time. But Prompto likes babysitting and playing with Nox and hearing Acastus’s stories and Titus just kinda- sighs his way through the playdates until he realizes that Prompto has been staying in his house for about two weeks with no sign of the parents.

Titus, after much snooping later, sitting at the kitchen table of Grandma Ostium quietly pulling his hair out: HOW DO YOU ADOPT A THIRD CHILD. DOES IT COUNT AS KIDNAPPING IF THEY COME OVER AND STAY WITH YOU FOREVER AND THE LEGAL PARENTS NEVER NOTICE. ACASTUS WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME.

Acastus: I regret nothing. Do you want me to fake Prompto’s death? I’m sure there’s enough Prompto’s out there that nobody will notice if you gain a nephew called Prompto Drautos.

Titus, holding his face in his hands while Grandma Ostium laughs at him in the corner: NO, ACASTUS. DO NOT FAKE THE DEATH OF THE CHILD. How do you even know how to do that? Nevermind I don’t want to know.

Roughly a year later when Everything Gets Revealed, Titus and Cor: *intense staring contest over Smol Blond Child*

Cor: You don’t know where he-

Titus, growling like a cranky Behemoth that might very well bite off someone’s head: He’s a Niflheim created clone. I know.

Cor: ....

Titus: He's been living in my house for a year. I’ve seen the barcode. It’s not like I wasn’t raising one already.

Cor: His legal parents-

Titus: Is me. The Argentums were emotionally neglectful and didn’t even notice when he hadn’t come home for a week and a half.

Cor: *guilty angry silence*

Titus: ...Kid could use an uncle. If you want to man up and be part of his life.

(hgfhg this is post is getting long Imma try to speed through the last questions a bit)

Yes, Nox hangs out with the Chocobros when he can because he adores them (especially Brother Prompto and Team Mom Iggy) but he also has his own friend group in the Little Galahd community so it doesn’t strike anyone as odd really. Nox is a naturally loving child for all he’s shy and Iggy and Gladio are Noctis’s friends and Prompto is his adopted brother (and later Noctis’s best friend).

Regis does Not take the Sick Days well. It makes him alarmed and angry because Lucis Caelums aren’t supposed to get sick days from their own magic and it speaks of BAD THINGS that both of the presumably experimented on and tortured LCs have them.

I’m going to have to come back to Dissidia another time (someone remind me) because this post is too long to ramble here but it would be- it would be Great. Honestly. It would either be the 3 littlest, just Acastus, or just Acastus and REGIS for some brotherly bonding and any of them would be Great and Chaotic. Crystal-o-vision absolutely happens.

The Crystal Room is under 24 hour guard so I don’t think the kids could wander in by accident, plus Acastus would actively avoid the area because of his Trauma.

Now Acastus being presented when he turns 18 on the other hand... >:))))))

Short Version: Much shouting, much alarm, much angst from Regis and Titus and everyone and also the first Sick Day Acastus has had since he turned 17 and by far one of the worst he’s ever had in his (second) life.

I might to a longer version later but not right now.

For Nox’s oddities and odd knowledge they kind of assume both? At first they think it’s just him resonating with Noctis so deeply that there’s a transfer (cue angst from Regis because what is going to happen to Nox when Noctis fulfills his destiny as Chosen King???) but then when Nox starts knowing stuff Noctis doesn’t/can’t know, they start to wonder if the scientists ... Tampered with his DNA. If they got their hands on Noctis’s, which should have been impossible, then it’s not all that out there they got their hands on Oracle DNA.

Sylva is ... very alarmed and very confused when Regis secretly contacts her on a secure encrypted line to ask if there were any ... symptoms to look for in an Oracle child. Because- yes there were but WHY DO YOU NEED TO KNOW?

Regis: they wouldn’t happen to be *lists very specific things*

Sylva: ....Have you seen any Messengers nearby lately.

Regis: Carbuncle, a black puppy that disappears into thin air, and a bird woman who can summon wind storms. She calls herself Garuda.

Sylva, having a minor crisis behind her Queenly Facade: I am Very Sure I only have two children so please explain this. Right Now.

Regis: Well............. NiflheimclonedmysonandIthinkmixeditwiththednaofyouoryourdaughterandhehasseerpowersandImayormaynotbepanickingrightnowpleasehelpme.

Sylva, slowly running that over in her mind and figuring out what Regis just said:...

W H A T.

XD Honestly Niflheim might invade Tenebrae only to find the royal family gone because Sylva coincidentally packed her backs and took her and her children on a secret trip to Lucis to have a look at Nox, then since they’re there when Niflheim invades and a spy gets word on what just happened Sylva and Co just- stay there. Oracle Mom Death averted.

Also they absolutely think that it’s Luna’s DNA they used to make Nox because of how instantly Nox gloms onto Luna like a limpet- JUST like he did with Noctis and Regis, and how Luna gets this dazed look in her eyes as their magic tangles and she whispers, “I ... I know you. I know you, don’t I Little Prince? I met you in a dream.” Luna starts crying softly as she pets Nox’s hair and when Sylva asks in alarm why she’s crying, Luna blinks and whispers, “Because he was crying in the dream, and I couldn’t comfort him.”

Acastus lurks in the shadows, watching it all with ... very mixed feelings.

Oracles. He could have gone his entire second life without meeting anymore Oracles. Aera she looks so much like you is that what our daughter would have looked like and oh astrals I KILLED her. I killed the girl with your eyes and your smile and laughed about it later.

ffxv is my main thing, so i was hoping you'd ask lol. It's canon that while the crystal gives magic, the magic itself also basically drains the users life force. We see this when Noct uses the royal arms. We also see it in Regis, who is quite literally dying because of the magic he uses for the wall, and the few nods to his father, King Mors, state he died rather young due to the ring. I like to imagine that while the wearer's body deteriorates slowly, the heart takes damage almost immediately

cont.: Also Prompto would be great for heart related whump purely because his body isn’t built to last due to him being a clone. Even tho Verstael lived for 80-90 years, it’s hinted that the MTs are built for quantity instead of quality. Also one of the game devs said that Prompto would be the first to die of the four if Noct didn’t die because of the clone thing. So you can just imagine his heart slowly failing him as everything else seems to fail as well.

ahhh! i forgot my asks! but better late than never! :D

alright, that was what you meant with the whole crystal thing earlier. (much earlier, so sorry. XD)

so, hear me out: both of them, and they have different cardiac issues. depending on what time and which of the two outcomes of the game you’re going for a few things come to mind.

for brotherhood era e. g. you could slightly poke at them already, some weakness here, some chest pain after warping around too much there for noct, nothing he’d think to complain about, after all his pain scale has been kind of skewed since his encounter with the marilith. mostly palpitations for young prom - combines pretty well with the eating disorder fanon. he might not even notice them very much, and has no clue there’s a very real chance for that to derail into v-tach.

assuming we go with the ep ignis end and they both make it into their thirties, noctis would get chest pains more frequently, bursts of heavy angina when using his magic, with a heart attack becoming more and more likely over time, while for prompto it’s the muscle itself that’s very slowly to giving up. he starts noticing something is up in his mid-twenties, the arrhythmia getting worse, and by the time he is thirty clearly feels the effect of the left-sided heart failure that has been creeping up on him.

and of course neither of them do something about it without being pushed in that direction because noct is stubborn and prom doesn’t want to be a bother, which doesn’t help them at all.

Luna (i haven’t watched kingsglaive so i might be missing some things. this is p much only based off the main game)

Fav thing about them: i really liked that one cut scene after her death with her and noctis because got that one was really pretty. also that one scene in altissia where the imperial soldiers barge in and point guns at her and she just stands up, brushes the gun aside, and walks away like “fucking shoot me, i dare you” like damn u go bitch ♥

Least fav thing about them: this has probably been said a million times before but honestly she doesn’t even feel like a character, but more of a plot device. if noct is gonna be forced to leave his 3 whole ass boyfriends behind to take a nap with her forever, at least give us some reason to even remotely like her as a character. give her a few lines that sound like something a real human person would say. give her realistic, personal relationships with someone. gentiana or ravus would have been perfect considering she was so close with gentiana and ravus is her fucking brother. i don’t care about how artsy and poetic her and noctis’s sacrifices were, give us something to demonstrates how close they were personally and how they genuinely enjoyed each other’s company as friends rather than tragic lovers. give her something that wasn’t solely related to the plot and developed her character in some way. luna deserved better :(

Fav line: "when you find yourself alone, amid a lightless place, look to the distance. know that i am there and that i watch over you always.” honestly it’s hard to pick one since every one of her lines is some cryptic bullshit to do with the gods

OTP: *vibrates* luna/shiva/ifrit. also her/gentiana

brOTP: her + gentiana!!

nOTP: her + noct >:( also not a big fan of her/cindy just cuz i don’t particularly like either of them kind of for the same reasons. it is kinda cute tho!

Random headcanon: she would look really nice in casual/modern clothing instead of long formal dresses that she always wears in canon. also she would be a really good fighter if given the chance like noctis and the gang were throughout the game.

Unpopular opinion: probably not unpopular but all her outfits fucking ugly (except for kingsglaive). also can’t stand her voice.

Song I associate with them: “saturn” by sleeping at last? not sure if the lyrics fit her perfectly but idk i feel like she’d do well with star-themed songs, plus it just sounds nice

Fav thing about them: she’s like. the only likeable female character in the game. i mean shiva. bby i would die for u, but i gotta admit. aranea’s the only one who feels like she has a personality outside of furthering the plot. also the fact that she shares both her english and japanese voice actors with celty from durarara is super cool bc 1) drrr is my fav anime and 2) both of their personalities are really similar and i think it fits them really well!

Least fav thing about them: i wish we could have gotten her dlc!! the female characters in this game needed all the character development they could get and square enix did them dirty >:( ep aranea sounded like it would’ve been so interesting and i would have loved to see more aranea stuff

Fav line: she called noctis “prince charming” once and i cried (i think it was if you loose to her in training at the camps?)

Least fav thing about them: she makes me uncomfortable…for obvious reasons i think…like game, was that really necessary?? did u really have to do her like that??? did u really have to do her dirty in front of her (grand) dad????

Fav line: “now, which one’s the prince?” *cue noctis popping up from behind the regalia with his lil miqote cat ears n tail* she doesn’t have a lot of good lines since they’re mostly about fixing cars n stuff

Two ships bc I can, first up, Ignis/Ravus:

my thoughts: Jesus fuck they are a power couple. They’d be kicking ass all day, plus they get to have posh convos with each other.

when I started shipping it if I did: Episode Ignis, unsurprisingly. They were so damn cool together I nearly went into cardiac arrest.

what makes me happy about them: I just love how quickly they adapted to fighting together even tho they were basically enemies before, yet they go like “we fight together now” and instantly take thE I-GOT-YOUR-BACK FIGHTING STANCE, you know the one, where they stand back to back surrounded by enemies. I DIED. Plus, they can relate to each other bc of their permanent injuries they got from the ring and shit, I like to think that they just sorta GET each other

things done in fanfic (or in general, fandom) that annoys me: Ravus abusing Ignis bc he was ordered to by Ardyn, just, no. I don’t wanna see Ravus blindly obeying Ardyn, thanks

things I look for in fanfic: Party member Ravus!! Those are my favourite Fleurentia fics. I also like them working/living together during the ten year darkness, I feel like they’d be good for each other.

who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Nobody for Ravus, I feel like he wouldn’t fall in love easily. And the Chocobros for Ignis

when I started shipping it if I did: mmm I loved their friendship throughout the whole game, and since the lines are blurry to me the shippy part just sorta tagged along

what makes me happy about them: THEY LOVE EACH OTHER SO MUCH, I’m gonna fucking DIE I swear. Their relationship makes me want to find a corner, lie down in a fetal position, and bawl like a fucking infant. So yeah it’s safe to say I have a lot of feelings about them

things done in fanfic (or in general, fandom) that annoys me: There’s not really much. I’m just not too much into smut, but that’s just a general preference bc smut is too boring for my ace ass

things I look for in fanfic: a whole lot of love, a special bond etc. My favourite fic is one in which they’re reincarnated and they find each other again and it’s one of the only fics that ever made me cry

Prompto and Noct are also a ship I could get behind, and Gladio… I don’t really ship him with anyone else tbh. Boi’s been playing it since the original on the gamecube, it always made him feel less lonely (#relatable)

Now he just plays it to chill

Saw Prom playing it one night, got curious and stole it for a few days

“No, maybe it fell in the Regalia?” Noct you asshole

At first, he didn’t see the appeal, but once he found out about fishing, the boy became obsessed

Got sick of playing as Prom’s character, so he made his own

Doesn’t care much for decorating his house, but that’s where he displays his fish. Only upgrades it to hold more fish.

What little furniture he has is mismatched and thrown down in the most random ways

“Hey Noct, what’s up with the flower chair facing the wall?”

“I dunno.”

Noctis single handedly supplies the museum fish, but nothing else

He somehow paid off all his loans and became a bellionaire in a week (Prom thinks he used the duplication glitch (he did) but can’t prove it)

Basic clothing except one thing; he wears the crown nonstop

Usually ignores any requests the villagers give him, unless it involves fishing

Actually, he usually ignores the villagers, too

Sometimes sends Prom items that he really wants in letters

“There might have been memory cake, but it appears my kitchen has disappeared.” the bros had to make their own ramen that night

No one expected him to like it so much

Tutted at how bad Prom was with being mayor, and ended up playing “merely to correct the town’s issues”

Next thing ya know, he’s playing as Mayor Prompto more often than Prom, boi basically stole Prom’s character (Prom made a new one)

At first he was just fixing up the town: weeding, changing the flag, adding public works projects…

Then he became obsessed. He made paths, gardens, clothing, umbrellas… This man donated every single missing bug, painting, sculpture, and fossil to the museum

He continually said “I’m merely returning the town to decency”

Yeah no

Boi upgraded his house, furnished it and turned it into a legit house with a kitchen, living room, couple of bedrooms, a flippin’ bathroom, he even turned the basement into a rumpus room

Needless to say, he got the highest HHA score out of all the bros

You know those really nice, aesthetically pleasing AC towns you see on tumblr? Yeah, his is one of them. That’s right, it’s his town now. Even Noct’s crown can’t deny who really cares for the place

Sneakily moves out villagers and brings in the food related ones (Prom cries every time)

Outside of decorating and mayor-ing and creating cool af clothes, the man doesn’t do too much

He only ever really talked to the animals to get PWPs and change his nickname to Ignis

His overarching goal is to get every single achievement badge (help the poor bb)

His thumbs are a bit too big to rest comfortably on the buttons, so he always presses the wrong ones and picks up Ignis’ flowers and paths (Ignis is never happy)

His character clumsily runs around town, destroying Ignis’ flowers and wearing down the grass

Never really pays attention to much in game, is just confused most of the time

Didn’t even pay the down payment until Prom said something

“Haven’t you paid Nook yet?”

“Done what to who?”

Once he finally gets the hang of things, he furnishes his house and turns it into a massive gym

Is lowkey a dick to most of the villagers, he always hits them with nets and tells them the most negative things he can (which isn’t much considering it’s animal crossing)

Whenever Iris is around, he likes to let her play on his file; she always fills his house with lovely furniture and teddy bears then dresses his character up as a girl, just to bug him

Sometimes he keeps it like that

Honestly he plays the game the least, he never sees the overarching point of it but says it’s sometimes relaxing (yea pal that’s the point)

Makes his character look as tough and badass as possible

Sometimes, when the other bros pull a prank or a being lil shits, he plays their characters and changes their outfits into the dumbest things ever or moves things around in their houses (he also steals Noct’s fish and puts them in storage)

also wait who’s Reni’s va, i am really hearing Aglovale’s voice when he talks and suddenly i’m freaked out

edit: okay false alert, not aglo’s va, though he did voice in dgm which is, well, ironic, considering so did Matsukawa’s va (Reni va played Reever, Matsukawa va played Komui, which honestly makes kinda hilarious how much they are enemies in a3 and Reni is trying to ruin Matsukawa’s life. Feels like it’s alternative universe payback from Reever)

tho i’m super reassured, i much rather think about Reni and Matsukawa being linked by another media than the fact that, if he voiced Aglo, it would mean i’d know him in relation to Tenma’s va, AND that therefore he’d be Noctis’s VA which would probably make me lose my mind considering Azuma’s VA is Prompto’s.

• He’s kinda shy and awkward, so he doesn’t, at first.
