If you are a person who thinks you have parental instincts, but don’t want kids yourself, go find a kid to help parent them. There’s probably already a kid in your family you could treat this way. If not, maybe go looking. Consider being a teacher or daycare worker, or volunteering. Let yourself be motherly without having the responsibility of a mother. All parents need help, and good parents will be grateful for the help. And the kids with bad parents? They will be thankful, too.

You don’t need to have experienced childbirth to want to be a caregiver. You don’t have to have carried a fetus inside you to feel the desire to provide. Keep those instincts, just utilize them elsewhere.

#i think a lot of people get too carried away in farming discourse to actually remember both of these things #some people are so aggressively anti-farming that they forget that meat and fur are necessary for some people #and that farming helps prevent overhunting of certain species #but some people are so aggressively pro-farming that they begin to think of animals as objects #that only exist to provide them with a product #animals deserve to be treated with respect and be given the best care possible while they're alive #but that doesn't mean that its a bad thing for them to die
