My go-to resources for vampyres demonic and otherwise:

These resources will be in 3 sections. Sanguinarian, Psychic/Psi and misc. I made sure these resources were for free and readily accessible for all that may be newly awakened, forced to be solitary with little to no information or just want to learn what's going on with your vampyre friend donor or not. There will be updates to these free resources and the links will be underlined and colored red.

For sanguinarians:

The Red Cellar is a website in which you can find all the tips and tricks for your feeding needs. It has topics including but not limited to: Practical advice (safety when dealing with🩸and caring for cuts, precautions with donor-sang relationships, how to get 🩸and handle it safely from your local butcher), Recipes and Health and Wellness. This is also a great resource for "med sangs" or vampires that believe that they require blood for health reasons. (Thank you lexsang for tipping us off.)

The Misanthropic Vampire is for the more demonic vampires. It is a more spiritual approach than med sangs as its written by a Luciferian vampire like me but it still has a lot of great material. There's explanations and resources of/from the vampire community, vampyre book recs, the myths and legends commonly used, glossary of terms (incubi/succubi are classified as sanguinarian subsets here), and rituals to become one with your true self "the divine/beast/dragon/demon etc" and sit on the throne of your soul. Although the author has since abstained from being a practicing sanguinarian from personal reasons, they still mention the symbolism and sacredness of the intimacy between 🩸donors and the vampyre.

For Psychic/Psi vampires:

The Old Vampire Codex is free on sacred texts donated from the author themselves. From what I know, M Belanger founder of House Kheparu is actually publishing an updated edition of the newer "psychic vampire codex". But before that happens, I recommend this because it's pretty much still the basics. The foundations haven't changed. Everything from awakenings, dreamwalking, feedings, energy work and healing is here.

Miscellaneous links

The Vampire Jack Townson has two different guided meditations. One is a basic one where you clear your mind, the other is putting your troubles to the side for a bit and going to your sanctuary to relax awhile. If you'd much rather relax in your soul's sanctuary then use this. Misanthropic vampire's throning ritual can be intense for newly awakened vampyres/demons etc so this is a nice alternative first step.

Orlee Stewart's Incubus/Succubus Playlist has a lot of things about incubus and succubus spirits. She talks about what they are, how to get them, the types of spirits she's encountered matching this description, how to encorporate their energy and become like them etc..

Vampirism

This infodump will not cover vampirekins and that kind of discussion! This is focused on “irl-vampires” that aren’t inherently vampires spiritually or on a deeper level. This is an alterhuman ID but it isn’t inherently an otherkin identity, hence the tags! This’ll all become more clear as I go on!

What Is A Vampire?

TW: mention of blood

An individual who regularly requires blood/energy from external sources in order to remain healthy and functional. By functional I mean things like being able to think straight, go to work, connect with friends etc etc. Vampires become noticeably drained if they haven’t fed on either energy/blood for a period of time. Most report that they get drained after going 4-5 days without a Donor/Substitute others can go longer.

The community coined the term “vampire” purely because of the need to feed on external energy (in some way) in order to thrive. Not everyone within the community use the term vampire but a lot of us do.

How do I know I'm a Vampire?

As mentioned, the Vampire identity is attached to a need not derivative of another identity; generally humanoid, and generally expresses a Need. It is also important to note that you should’ve already explored medical reasons or possible things like an iron deficiency or various chronic disabilities.

This isn’t to say Vampires with iron deficiencies or chronic disabilities aren’t valid because there’s a medical reasoning to the identity, but it should be taken into account! I personally have both of what was mentioned above but there are also other mysterious things regarding my medical biology that have been discussed for years but are yet to be diagnosed or given an actual “reason”.

“If you find that you are unable to remain healthy or functional without regularly feeding on blood or energy, and after consulting with all relevant medical professionals, you still have been unable to identify the cause of your condition, then it might pay to start considering you have this condition.” — The Black Books

No one else can truly determine whether you are a vamp or not! It’s all about self discovery, self exploration and trial and error.

Types Of Vampires

Yes, it’s true. There are types of vampires depending on our feeding methods. So let’s go through the main ones:

Sanguinarian

TW: blood and meat

This is the type most imagine. Sanguinarian or "Sangs" are Vampires that get their external energy from blood. They require human or animal blood in order to maintain their health. I mentioned Donors before - Donors are people within the Vampire community who donate blood or energy to help our hunger. It is fully consensual and there are ways to do this safely in a clean environment with proper equipment (and testing of the blood before consumption). If Donors aren’t available, however, Sang Vampires may have substitutes like eating rare to medium-rare cooked meat.

Psychic/Psi

Psi or Psychic vampires feed off of energy from people or animals. This isn’t to be confused with the term “emotional vampire” or someone who drains energy from others easily or a psychic/spiritual attack. When it comes to Psi Vampires consent is ideal but it isn't always key. Most energy taken is from people completing their daily tasks in a public area.

Elemental

An elemental vampire is someone who feeds off of nature and the elements! Earth, water, air, and fire. Elemental feeding, depending on the element the vampire best resonates with, can be a lot simpler. They tend to also incorporate energy magicks and grounding to sustain the routine of feeding.

Hybrids

TW: mention of blood

Hybrids are able to feed from blood, energy or elements and are a very versatile type of vampire. Hybrids can have a preference in all the mentioned types of feeding but, essentially, they affectively feed in multiple ways.

Remember, we don’t CHOOSE how we feed. We don’t choose what sustains us, it simply happens.

General Q&A

Do we have powers?

IRL Vampires do not inherently have powers, no.

Allergic to the sun? Hate sunlight?

Not inherently! Many of us have a sensitivity to the sun/brightness but so do non-vampires.

Do you have fangs/sharp canines?

Again, no. Some folks naturally have pointy teeth ofc but not everyone does! My canines, for example, are literally not visible unless I reveal my top gums - they’re little stubs 😭

Do you age/ are you immortal?

Physically we aren’t immortal and we do not stay young. If you believe in reincarnation then… our spirits/souls live beyond our physical bodies. Some vampires may look younger though (some claim by about 10 years).

Do you hate garlic?

Me? I love garlic. But… you know, depends on the person.

Can I become a vampire?

This is debated within the community but the general consensus is no. You are born a vampire and go through an awakening/realization at some point.

As I've been studying and trying to document my own Vampyrism, I'm curious, are there teachers out there who are willing to pluck off an apprentice? I have been alone through my endeavors, watching and judging smaller vampyre communities from afar, learning on my own from sources online and books I've picked out by hand. Are there mentors available who are willing to be my guide?

I am a hybrid, though I depend heavily on psychic energy as blood can only aid my mental and spiritual state, I was not blessed with the best digestive system aha...

I'm willing to train my psychic ability as well as become more active in the community, but the vampyre community today is so scarce... If you are reading this, please feel free to contact me. Any contact I will be grateful for.

Just curious, what's it like being a psychic vamp?

Ahh, well... To be honest, I've always been hesitant on describing what it's like without sounding...condescending or creepy. Because in all honesty, I don't like being a psychic vampire for these reasons. No, I'm not the psychic vampire who goes stereotypically all gothic, dark, and edgy about it showing how much I want to relish in blood. (Though I do wear gothic things at times, and the appearance of my blog is kind of edgy so I'm probably just a walking contradiction) ... The way I see it, I just go out in public and just ... feed. As in I just go to my favorite spot in public and just...take in their energy passively like breathing. That's pretty much it. -------------------- As for the in-depth take on it, well... It's that pull. That energetic hunger that can even extend to physical hunger. It's not just any hunger...it claws into your energy and just gnaws on you sadistically. Sometimes, I go to my favorite local coffeeshop and just do my own work there. I take in the flavors of energy from others and the exhaust of energy from them too. I just feed off of them and I sense their flavors and even how healthy they are. Some energies taste like fresh fruits, some taste like moldy cheese -- it depends on how much my energy filters and consume. Soon enough, I want more and more. I want to dig deep until I hit that vital energy where its more potent. My energy spread out like tendrils going around towards each person and it makes me feel uneasy. I look at the people around me like I'm observing wildlife -- as bad and as cringey as that sounds...But listen, I don't hate people. I actually like people. I am fascinated by people good or bad. Just like being out in nature and observing the wildlife around me, that's how I feel about things when I go out and feed. ... Trust me, I want to stop and just be 'normal.' But every time I just avoid feeding, I would get bad heart palpitations and chest pains. I went to the hospital a few times and found nothing. It was instantly remedied when I do feed off of others. (Michelle Belanger had the same occurrence and shame about things too. I would suggest reading her book about it called the "Psychic Vampire Codex") --- In truth, I am ashamed that I do see what I feed off of as only livestock at times, it makes me feel like weirdo. Maybe one day, I'll wake up and just realized I'm just someone who needs professional help after all. I'm not beyond that. -- But...that's how it feels to me personally. It may not be what you expected but that's what I feel about it to the core. I don't feel empowered. Opposite actually... I just feel embarrassed about it, and I don't believe there's any "empowerment" or strength in drawing energy from others... other than it's indicating that we are weak without the dependence of another source. That's just me though. Maybe I'll figure it out myself one day. -- I know this may not be what someone might be expecting when you ask this question but...this is my take on my own experience.

Some rough notes for my Vampiric Grimoire (planning stage) feel free to use and/or contribute your own perspectives.

"Energy vampire" is a misused term since all feeding in energy feeding, just in different forms.

So I've made some brief notes on Vampire subgroups I've made for a grimoire I'm planning.

🩸Sanguine vampires

Your blood suckers, these vampires need plasma (in small amounts) to access energy.

Since there's an abundance of literature on Sanguines, I won't reinvent the wheel here, however I'll remind everyone of the importance of consent & safety.

🍆🍑Tantric Vampires

Aka Succubi & Incubi.

Similar to Sanguines, however they feed via different bodily fluids.

The main difference between Tantrics & Psi Vampires (to be covered below) is their need for erotic contact & fluids.

Again, remember consent & safety.

Unawakened tantrics may engage in hypersexual or sex-addict like behaviours.

💔 Emotional Vampires aka Emphatic Vampires

These are usually mixed up with Psi/Psychic vampires as the latter can feed via emotions, in a limited capacity.

The best metaphor for these guys is the movie Monster's Inc. & how the factory converts screams (& later, laughter) into energy.

Emotional Vampires may feed by deliberately triggering people however many discover pleasant ways to feed such has becoming comedians or musicians.

Also typically found in Political & public speaking careers.

They also make great trauma counsellors.

They can feed in a similar way to Tantrics, however they end up getting really hurt and/or manipulating others when hungry...

🔮 Psi Vampires aka Psychic vampires, Pranic Vampires, Strigoi

We're the energy omnivores in that we can feed in the same ways as other vampires however these other methods aren't as effective.

The downside of this is it can take us longer to awaken as Vampires, we may get caught up in the "fluffy bunny" (the love & light toxic positivity) community and/or end up going through hypersexual stages like our Tantric kin.

Unlike Tantric Vampires, we can feed via online interactions & be fairly satisfied.

We best feed when close to someone we can establish a link with, physical touch can also enhance this.

Unlike others, we can distance feed either astrally or via meditation though this takes discipline.

Similar to emotional Vampires we can feed from crowds, though we send out our "tendrils" to nibble from the crowd's auras.

This isn't as effective as "deep feeding".

We can benefit from learning Reiki & other energy work however we must be careful to avoid unawakened vampires who work in those fields.

Feng Shui is critical for our living spaces & we benefit from learning what our Ayurveda Doshas & Humors (Greek medicine concept) are, adjusting our physical food diets according to those.

Unfortunately we are probably why it's believed that vampires burn in sunlight since we are especially sensitive & weakened by the sun & sensitive to other weather events due to the type of energy involved.

That said, due to our relationship with energy we are especially good at Weather Manipulation, witchcraft & energy healing.

While we may be drawn to careers in healing, we're often found in toxic workplaces due to our ability to feed from & transmute negative energy.

While we CAN feed via emotions like our Emphatic kin, we can become really unwell if force fed large amounts of negative emotional energy, e.g. people in crisis.

📝 Note on naming conventions;

I'll eventually expand upon these in my personal grimoire, and once digitised I can make it available either as a Google doc or even a Tumblr post.

I plan on updating the naming conventions to be more accessible to wider audiences

ie each "type" will be given a plain English name, an "old country" name inspired by old myths & a spiritual name for those more accustomed to spirituality.

E.g.

Psychic vampire naming conventions might resemble

Psi Vampire (Plain English)

Strigoi (Old country/mythos)

Prana Vampires (Spiritual)

The fun challenge will be creating a 3-name system for Sanguines 🩸🧛‍♀️

There’s something about sharing food and drink that puts out a lot of good energy from people.

I just made a pot of tea for my office. My coworker took a sip and exclaimed how good it was, and I could feel some happy energy pour out of her. It was a nice little flow of energy from her to me, because she was talking about how good the tea was with such excitement. Maybe that’s why I love cooking for other people, even if I can’t eat the food myself.

So I think Lilith wants me to get into Vampirism again. I haven't been interested in that since I was 21. Most notably Vampyric Magic which I didn't know was an actual thing until very recently.

It makes sense and given I nor Levathia (A past life self) is attached romantically to our former master/ex anymore, I think it would work out a lot better.

Lilith being a literal ancient goddess/Succubus & an aspect of Asmodeus being an Incubus (which are energy vampires in a sense IMO, maybe they don't have "fangs" but they do similar things that Psi Vamps do. It's just usually in a sexual way.) it would make more sense them being our "masters/mistress" (more notably Lilith, but I am spoused to Asmodeus.) then a narcissistic human who doesn't even believe in being a vampire anymore.

I consider myself both a PsiVamp (I'm an empath) and a Sanguine Vampire, I will admit to being a fan of Vampire culture before I knew about true vampires (Lost Boys, Buffy, Underworld, John Carpenters Vampires, Blade, The Last Vampire books, The Amelia Atwater Rhodes books ect.) I was also obsessed with Twilight for a time but I knew those books were fiction. I also really liked and still do like The Vampire Diaries and True Blood. Also more obscure or low budget movies and shows like Razorblade Smile (which my ex introduced me to) Blood Ties, Only Lovers Left Alive and A Discovery of Witches.(which I loved because it was witches and vampires)

I've also written stories based on my past life (lives?) as Levathia, idk if I'll finish them though as I did base most of the characters on real people who's influence or inspiration is now gone.

I was into Wicca when I met my ex and found out I was an actual vampyre when I was 18. But I never put them together, being a vampyre (or baby vamp att) was always separate from my craft and I was never in a coven. I never thought to use blood in my practice (especially since my goddess then was Aphrodite) or siphon others energy for a spell. (Not knowingly anyway.) I'm sure as I mostly did spells or rituals with him that Valenn and I used one another's energy but I didn't do it consciously. I also grew up with the mindset that energy vampires are bad, though some are. I didn't realize that empaths and Psivamps are two sides of the same coin until recently.

I've never actively drank blood, or used it anyway, or done blood play ect. But I've always been drawn to it. Just att there's no way I would have done it safely or had anyone around me (not manipulating me) that knew what they were doing.

That being said I'm pretty sure my demons would know to show me how to do it safely and I am married to someone (on the 3D) that I absolutly trust and is with Lilith.

It is still hard to find things about Vampyric Magic (other than the book by Father Sebastian which I have yet to read) or about real Vampirism in general. I've come across a couple on tumblr and YouTube but it doesn't seem to be as prevalent or "trendy" as it once was. If anyone has any suggestions or you are one let me know!

Hoping to find people on here, so hi. Call me Mave for now. I'm a physically young vampyre (I'll be voting in the next election), but I am no youngling. I'm a sanguinary and psychic vampyre, and a founding member of a House. I live in the South, and if you frequent a famous vampyre parlor here, you probably know me (and if you do, I'm terrified of you).

My Beginning pt. 1 School Years

Gosh, I post to Tumblr like I feed, which is sporadic and not often enough. Sheesh. But my bad habits aside, I'm going to share my personal experiences with y'all.

I would and still do to this day, get a lot of my guidance and spiritual messages through clairaudience and dreams. It wasn't until last year or so I can dream walk which is a form of telekinesis. My dreams could start and pick up the next night where it ended.

In my high school years, I would get bad dreams with Biblical references. Granted, my family is Catholic so I understood them. But when you're having a dream, you're sitting alone, and the creek you're sitting next to turns red, that's terrifying! To make matters worse, I quickly drove into town, it was abandoned. I went into the Catholic church and all the candles including the big one that symbolizes that God is present, blows out. I turn to run, there is a figure blocking my exit. It wasn't a demon I don't think, because well I woke up in fairly one piece and not possessed. But he did have vampiric like features. I don't really remember all the details, but I can remember what he said to me. He smiled with fangs and glowing red eyes, "This is no longer your home. You can run but I will find you." I ran out the church screaming, and I woke up with a scream.

I wouldn't see that figure again, until my college years. But after that dream, churches and things would feel different to me. I would get migraines, my sensitive skin seemed to get more sensitive to sunlight. My doctors and therapist would just say it was hormones, anxiety and depression.

Overtime and with my house getting hit by a tornado, and getting ready for college, I forgot about the dream and moved on with my life. Or so I thought.

Traditional Witchcraft, Vampirism and we who are Succubi/Incubi in human form overlap if you think about it. Witches in many cultures are still seen as inhuman (often demonic) souls with human skin that fly out to drink people's 🩸 or life force. In page 161 of Vampyre Magick, the fangsmith Father Sebastian writes of astral projection as "The Flight Of The Succubus". This is similar to hedge riding in traditional witchcraft, just without the psychedelics of flying ointment.
