A farmer can begin by reducing external inputs like pesticides, for example, and eventually enhance the health of her land so much pesticides aren’t needed at all. It seems so long ago that I made this. It was January 5, 2020 when wildfires were raging in 4 places in the world that I cared about that I painted this and posted it. I felt pretty helpless but looked up some links where people could maybe donate. This was one of my most seen posts on Instagram. Originally l also posted the painting for sale on Etsy and hoped to donate a sum myself that way. It never sold and I lowered the price a while back. I was notified last night that someone bought it.
