"[Elizabeth Woodville's] piety as queen seems to have been broadly conventional for a fifteenth-century royal, encompassing pilgrimages, membership of various fraternities, a particular devotion to her name saint, notable generosity to the Carthusians, and the foundation of a chantry at Westminster after her son was born there. ['On other occasions she supported planned religious foundations in London, […] made generous gifts to Eton College, and petitioned the pope to extend the circumstances in which indulgences could be acquired by observing the feast of the Visitation']. One possible indicator of a more personal, and more sophisticated, thread in her piety is a book of Hours of the Guardian Angel which Sutton and Visser-Fuchs have argued was commissioned for her, very possibly at her request."
-J.L. Laynesmith, "Elizabeth Woodville: The Knight's Widow", "Later Plantagenet and Wars of the Roses Consorts: Power, Influence, Dynasty"

in saras minisode joe says that he doesnt have many memories of his father when he was alive which means that he died when joe was very young and im 99.9% certain that joes dad was mr policeman which means that keiji killed him at least 5 years before the events of the game which means that throughout all these years hes made a conscious decision to keep this hairstyle.

《 Is it a little ambitious to start making a game with ✨️ Vibes ✨️ alone? Perhaps. Am I doing it anyways? Yup.
Someone send me a spreadsheet or something because I have no idea how to write a consecutive plot.
It'll be fineeeeeee. 》

Look, I know the chances of Dabi getting out of jail/rehab after the main storyline are slim to none BUT IM JUST SAYING: if he was ever able to be released, I would totally make him into my house husband. No questions asked. 🥺🥺

coolest professor i ever had in art school was a woman in who taught a few different media analysis type courses + "history of animation" (super popular class. literally took me 2 years to get into). dont know her exact age but she was at least her late 60s (mentioned her grandchildren and living thru the polio epidemic)
she was one of the first americans to become a full blown Anime Scholar in the 90s. according to her she discovered anime because she accidentally rented akira for her 10 year old son thinking it was a kids movie. she got so into it that she changed her major and became fluent in japanese so she could get her phd in japanese studies, lived in japan on & off and did translation work
she was really involved in the early western anime fandom and would tell us abt diy anime bootlegger shit from that era. she also just, totally unrelated to any of the coursework, brought in old queer art/comic zines for us to look at
anime wasnt the focus of the history course tho lol. but she did a good job of highlighting a lot of rly neat obscure animation especially non western stuff. a lot of the class was just screenings and all of them were bangers
also she was rly one of those rare profs whos so engaging & clearly passionate abt what they're teaching her classes felt less like classes and more like hanging out with someone whos infodumping at you
she kept alluding to wanting to do a unit about hentai but then she'd be like no i'm not allowed probably. i could go on though. she said her favorite anime of all time was yuri on ice. raddest person ever to be honest

i learned the grade for my phd thesis today (it's v good! i'm v happy!) & my supervisor took that as occasion to sit down with me and talk about The Future for a bit, and she clearly cares and i'm thankful for her, but the sheer ivory tower out-of-touch-ness of academics will never stop baffling me. like they'll ask you about your new job (admin & public service), and you tell them you're enjoying it and loving all the mental space it's freed up, and they'll be like cool! but you are looking for something better, right?
and it's like. no. i'm really super not. i understand that professors look down on this kind of work, which is one thing, they're snobs, i can't change that. but to not take someone's word for it when they say they find their job fulfilling and rewarding is kind of. ungenerous? not to mention condescending? like please don't call a less mentally taxing job a "waste of potential" when it was working in academia that stopped me from producing literally any writing i cared about or felt proud of for nearly four years

It is absolutely astonishing to me that so many people genuinely feel and will speak as if they're some kind of authority in an area of expertise in which they have zero credentials or any practical knowledge whatsoever. There are several topics on which I could speak at some length because I've read enough that I feel confident enough to contribute to a conversation about them--but even then, even subjects on which I've read a LOT, across many different sources, I would never presume to present myself as an expert, and I'm well aware that even as much as I know is a mere drop in the bucket. I legitimately cannot fathom feeling that I'm more knowledgeable than multiple experts in a given field because Fox News gave me a talking point to run with or whatever.
