An Indian Raja made a deal to give a girl named Rani one grain of rice doubled each day for 30 days. This beautiful story is a wonderful mathematical inquiry! With grade four children, we explored this book in depth. How many grains of rice did Rani receive after 30 days? Did she make a good deal? Lots of great discussion and addition operations emerged from this exploration!

i love teaching
i dont think teaching tumblr is a thing, especially reggio tumblr but damn it, teaching is so amazing, and learning about it is so fun too. the learning brings up a lot of frustrations for me though.
the reggio emilia approach owns my heart, and im constantly frustrated by its inaccessibility to low income american families because rich white ladies would rather make a quick buck than actually live out the curriculum that they claim to so boldly espouse.
i don’t think you should be able to call yourself reggio-inspired if you don’t have a robust and widely accessible tuition-assistance program. Reggio Emilia as a town makes it their mission to provide education for every 0-6 year old in the town, not the ones that can afford $3,000 a month for their infant to attend school every month.

The Riace Bronzes were found in the sea off the coast of Italy in 1972. They are life sized, bearded warriors cast in the 5th century BCE. Ancient Greek bronzes rarely survive as many were later melted down. We only really know how Ancient Greek bronze sculptures looked like because the Romans were copycats.

5. The environment plays a part. This speaks to me even louder when I started providing home-based therapy services. What works in the therapy room in a school/ hospital settings may not always work at home… It takes a lot of thoughts and observations to sit down and reconstruct the space at home for the best therapy outcome. Background: I presented on a topic on “Reflect, Learn and Grow- A workshop based on 10 things I wish I knew as a music therapist 10 years ago” at the recently music therapy sharing session. I’m gonna share them with you in the next 10 days. Let me know which one resonates with you the most. #iwishiknew #musictherapistjourney #musictherapyreflection #conbriomusictherapy #reggioinspired #reggio #declutter #environment #parentssg #parentsofinstagram #therapists #therapistsofinstagram #therapistsg #therapistsofig https://www.instagram.com/p/CfiTijGr0K1/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
