Valentine’s Day Hcs!
Headcannons of how you celebrate and spend Valentine’s Day with your partner!
Characters: N, Shauna, Hop, Kieran, Carmine!
Note: Happy Valentines to those who celebrate it! I made some head cannons with my favourite characters, but I won’t be taking requests for Shauna or N yet!
N - Ferris wheel ride
Tumblr media
For Valentines, be prepared to be out and about for most of the day!
He’s been practically everywhere in Unova. He’s not going to go to places with plenty of people there, oh no.
He’s going to take you places you’ve never seen before, places so remote that you can be sure that they’re only known to the two of you.
This man is so thoughtful too, he’s only going to take you to places that he knows for sure that you’ll like.
I can imagine him taking you to a really pretty flower field to take a look at all the Lilligant and Whimsicott frolicking through!
He would also try and make you a flower crown but he hasn’t made one in years.
(He fails horribly, silly goof.)
By sunset, the two of you get to Nimbasa city, and although it’s crowded, he leads you to the Rondez-View ferris wheel together.
On the ferris wheel, he’d sit really close to you as well, he’s a sucker for physical contact and touch.
After that he’d hold your hand and talk about how he loves spending time with you, and how he loved today.
He’s good with words too, he’ll say it in the most poetic way possible, but it doesn’t sound cheesy, though you wouldn’t care if it was.
And at the very top of the ferris wheel, with the sunset on full view, he gives you a quick, sweet kiss on the lips! How romantic!
It’s a perfect end to a perfect Valentine’s Day!
Shauna - Fireworks
Tumblr media
Shauna’s so excited for Valentines, she’s about to bust your door down the moment she gets to your house,, don’t worry, she’s just really excited to go on a date with you today!
The two of you go all over Lumiose city together! You both decide the places that you want to go together, you don’t really have anything planned.
Valentines with her seems like a bit more of an outing than a date, but that doesn’t make it less enjoyable or romantic in any way.
Shauna is a very outgoing and bubbly girl, and the sort of energy she carries around her is able to make any experience with her 10 times better!
You start by going to a cafe together and eating Poképuffs together. Even better, they’ve been doing Valentine’s themed foods there and she gushes over how adorable they are!
After that, you pretty much walk through the entire city together. There’s so much to do!
A lot of shopping is done. It’s a case of her finding something cute on a shop window and her dragging you in. It’s super fun to see the different things in store, Lumiose has so much to offer!
You take walks down the avenues and boulevards, as well as the plazas!
Although it doesn’t sound like a lot, these activities took up most of the day. Lumiose is a ginormous place…
But there’s one more place that she’s adamant to take you to!
It took a little while, but she takes you to a place called the Parfum Palace! It’s a public museum, and she’s got a surprise for you there!
She takes you to a balcony, where you and her stand together.
She can barely hold in her excitement, and she’s elated when fireworks start shooting off! She’s bouncing off the walls, and you can tell how happy she is when you feel how tight her hand is gripping yours!
The fireworks are gorgeous, no wonder she was so determined to bring you here. It was worth it, seeing all the beautiful Valentines themed patterns, and the colours to go with them!
Shauna does her best for valentines, and although it may be quite an exhilarating event, it’s a romantic event that the both of you won’t ever forget!
Hop- Gorgeous sightseeing
Tumblr media
Happy Valentines! I hope you like travelling and sightseeing, because Hop is taking you to the best Galar has to offer!
Sure, the weather in Galar is wonky with it being rainy one day, stormy the other- and a lot of it is filled with ruins- so what could you find romantic about that?
Hop has been all through this wretched region, he knows the best places to take you for a day as special as today. As long as you’re up to it (you are) he’ll be taking you to the prettiest places there!
Although he’s put an incredible amount of thought in for the places to go, he can’t help but feel normal as the two of you converse on the train
He starts with Glimwood tangle. Although it’s mysterious, it’s quite a serene place, with not much to be heard apart from the occasional rustling that comes from Impidimp scouring through.
He takes this chance to hold your hand as you stroll through and head to Ballonlea (smart move, hop)! The town itself may not be too romantic, but it’s a pretty sight, right?
He also takes you to Wyndon. It’s a wonderful sight, even though it’s crowded.
You go for a stroll up the gardens, and the two of you look back on your moments together, even way back from when you were just friends.
(If you paid close attention to his voice, you could hear it trembling slightly…)
He’s got one more place to show you after you finish a lap around Wyndon, and he hopes he can make it work!
It takes a while to get there, having to go from Wyndon all the way to Postwick was time consuming, but you have each other!
On the train ride there, you end up leaning onto Hop’s shoulder, and he gets so flustered!
The two of you have been dating for a while, but he still never fails to grow warm under your touch. He ends up leaning onto you too.
The two of you head inside the slumbering Weald, making sure to avoid the Weezing and Musharna floating about so that you could get to your destination quickly.
You’ve arrived, and at this point Hop puts his hands over your eyes. When he opens them, you’re met with the gorgeous sight of an altar, well hidden by the trees, and the sun gleaming down at the waters.
Hop also had matching bracelets to give to you- the two being your favourite colours with some other white beads, and a message spelling ‘I love you’ !
The rest of you spend your time peacefully talking together at the Slumbering Weald. Celebrating Valentines with Hop is him making his appreciation to you known in (what he thinks are) the best ways possible!
Kieran- Appletun pie
Tumblr media
This is Kieran’s first Valentine’s Day with you, so he wants to make it special and last.
He’s never really been the type to plan and do extravagant things, so he settles for something that he thinks would be fun for the both of you.
And that’s through baking!
Unfortunately, the Apple trees over at Apple hills are far from blossoming at this time of year, but it’s okay! He’s got a bunch of fresh ones the two of you can use!
(His Hydrapple picks out the sweetest apples for him. Even before the two of you started dating that thing has been nothing but a wingman!)
On the day, he’s so happy when he arrives at your house!
He’s got the biggest smild smile on his face too!
“Happy Valentines S/O ! I bought you somethin’ as well :DD!”
He wants this to go as well as possible, he brings some choclate too!
Anyways, the two of you use an Appletun apple pie recipe, it’s a pie that looks plenty similar to the aforementioned Pokémon!
He’s a noob at baking too, but that does make it fun, right? If you can bake? He’s happy that there’s some experience to tag along! If not? The two of you fooling around makes it plenty enjoyable!
Speaking of fooling around… FLOUR FIGHTS >:)))
You’d probably instigate it while you’re waiting for the pie to bake in the oven, but that does not mean that Kieran is backing down in any way!
Kieran’s a competitive guy, even though you may not know it. And in some cases, his friendly competitiveness goes beyond battling on the BB Academy courts!
He’s going to reach over to smear it on your face and leave handprints on your clothes. The two of you were throwing it all over the kitchen, and boy, was it fun.
Kieran’s Hydrapple was downright terrified though. While the two of you were having fun, this poor dude was imagining the possibilities of Carmine coming in…
(She did peek in the kitchen and see the two of you fighting and she was absolutely fuming. She was about to give the both of you a piece of her mind, but even she saw how much fun the two of you were having. She must’ve felt merciful, because she left you two alone despite being livid at the mess. She was just glad to see Kieran happy in love :))
The timer for the pie goes off, and you eventually clean the kitchen to the best of your abilities. He has a spare washcloth that he lets you use to wipe the flour off where you can. Just have to hope nobody else notices the flour!
After, the two of you split the Appletun pie so there’s some for his family and some for yours!
Kieran thinks he left a memorable impression for a first Valentine’s date, and he hopes for many more!
Carmine- Late nights
Tumblr media
Carmine would probably have a sleepover with you. But it’d be an event where the two of you go all out!
Carmine is the sort of person to do so. Going on an outing around Kitakami just isn’t her thing.
When you show up at the door, she’s got everything for the night.
Movies? Face masks? Board games? Checked right off!
She’s even decorated the living room for the occasion, taking her red blankets and pillows all down so the two of you’re cozy.
She’s so excited to spend time with you! What do you want to do first? She suggests wearing face masks while watching the all the movies she’s got to watch!
Carmine also loves physical contact, she gets super cuddly at night. For tonight, you’ll be her stuffed animal while you watch beauty and the ultra beast.
The two of you had tossed on face masks while watching the Princess and the Froakie, and all of a sudden you hear a loud yell and it’s none other than Carmine’s brother, Kieran!
He knows what a face mask is but he always gets so startled when he sees his sister wearing one…
Carmine shoos him away as soon as possible so the two of you can continue watching the movie!
Carmine is a little pouty after that mishap, but she’ll be fine.
The entire night is just a sleepover for you to focus on each other, and Carmine loves that. She loves spending time with you, and you staying over at hers is what she loves the most. She loves Kitakami, and there are good places for romantic outings, but to her what could possibly be more romantic than staying at home with your partner?
And whatever you’re doing, you should play with her hair, brush it or style it in any way you want. Carmine adores it when you do that to her, she feels so close with you!
(You enjoy it too, you’re able to get a full view of your girlfriend’s face, gazing warmly at yours.)
When you’re all settled down for the night, you and her have late night talks. She’s so in love, she could talk ti you about the most mundane things ever and she’d still look at you with the most lovesick look on her face.
Also, more cuddles, yay! She’s a big spoon, so prepare to be wrapped around her!
It’s a pretty ideal Valentine’s Day (or night in this case). Compared to the others, you simply get to laze around with your girlfriend while still having fun! And you don’t need to run everywhere!

I have to say, as much romantic clout as Lumiose has built up, Nimbasa gives it some pretty good competition. At least, the amusement complex anyways.
First off, of course, the Rondez-View is famous, obviously. But beyond that, everyone remembers that rom-com from a few years back, right? X-ing Paths? The one where the regular trainer finds an idol's Xtransciever and tries to return it, all while the idol tries to hide their identity? To this day, people keep dropping Xtranscievers at the park, trying to find their soulmate because of it. Nobody even uses Xtranscievers anymore and it still happens.
It's the sort of place I dreamed of for years as a kid, you know? Staring out at that ferris wheel, dreaming of some fantasy woman to come sweep me off my feet with a battle in front of the Rondez-View...
Ahem. All of this to say, right now. Even though it is the sort of thing I'd dreamed of exactly for most of my life.
The last thing I want to do is to be having this inane fucking battle in front of the fucking Rondez-View!
With the person I have gone as far as to block on fucking SPINDOTIFY! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH OF A PROBLEM YOU HAVE TO BE FOR ME TO BLOCK YOU ON SPINDOTIFY?
And then to show up like this is some silly little coincidence? Like she didn't just throw me to COLRESS of all people? Like that wouldn't be an ISSUE?
...If I wind up on the nightly news tonight. For aggravated assault in broad daylight. I hope this post serves as a dragons-damned explanation!

And here is the Unova light display!
To the surprise of absolutely no one, the festival seems to have gone all out on the display of its own region. The first thing that catches your eye is a gigantic Braviary animatronic, its powerful wings flapping up and down. Its backdrop is an equally large Unovan flag. Quite patriotic!
Up next is a display of the region's crown jewel, Nimbasa! The centerpiece of the display is the Rondez-View Ferris Wheel and, snaking behind it, is the roller coaster that used to be the old Nimbasa gym. The ride’s carts are all piled up with Emolga, Minccino, and Purrloin wearing Santa hats and knitted scarfs. On the last cart you spot yet another Mew, comfortably lounging as it nibbles on a candy cane.
Beside it is a display featuring the famous Pokémon Musical! A lovely Meloetta decked out in a holiday-themed outfit stands front and center, arms extended toward her audience, and flanking her are an Oshawott, a Zebstrika, and a Pachirisu, all wearing similar-themed outfits and holding candy canes as props for the show. They are animated to appear as if they're dancing to the tune of All I Want For Christmas!
Finally, you come across an enormous light display that illustrates the dragons of legend, Reshiram and Zekrom, curled around each other to mimic a Yin and Yang shape, with an even larger Kyurem display towering imposingly over them. Nearby are the famous Swords of Justice, bringing it in in an all-for-one and one-for-all motion.
However, the Unova display doesn't stop there. Around the village, guests will notice that the light posts each have a small light display of a Pidove sporting a Santa hat. Held in the flying-type’s beak is a sprig of holly. Near the Nimbasa display, there's whispers that someone had seen one that looks different, allegedly holding what distinctly looks like mistletoe...

Blight / Blur : Gym Guides' Characterizations
Sequel to this post!
Gentleman Clyde ( Castelia / Aspertia ) - a middle-aged man who once traveled Unova seeking unique pieces of art; eventually enjoys the art of Pokemon battling itself, even if he can't battle himself. Overenthusiastic and kind of like an embarrassing grandpa, but he helps Cheren and Hilda run the newly opened Aspertia Gym. Was previously a museum curator for Burgh's old gym. Considered the "boss" of all the gym guides.
Waitress Tia ( Striaton ) - a family friend of the Striaton Triplets, who shows interest in helping them run the family business. She's older than them and has more experience, so she handles everything but the battles, including ensuring the food they put out is top-notch. She continues working in Striaton Restaurant even after it stops being a gym, and manages the battles between the triplets and their patrons.
Scientist Satomi ( Nacrene ) - an old student of Lenora's, who has taken to working in her museum to continue her studies- and eventually gets hired to be its guide. Was academic rivals with Fennel and Audrea during their college days, but has mellowed out since. She's often the one helping Bianca around the museum whenever she visits. She still continues to work there even after it stops being a gym.
Harlequin Jack ( Castelia ) - initially just one of Burgh's gym trainers, he replaces Clyde two years later after Clyde is assigned to help out Cheren in Aspertia. Kind of a "quirky" clown, with him being easily exasperated and more down-to-earth than his colleagues, even being somewhat terrified of Castelia Gym's new interior. Nonetheless, he shows promise and dedication to his new role.
Lady Colette ( Nimbasa ) - initially just a fan of Elesa's, and later becomes the Elesa fan of all time, being the one who runs her fanclub and has the biggest fan account for her. She insists on giving all gym challengers a tour of the old gym in the sequel. Her family actually owns the business that constructed both the old gym's rollercoaster and the Rondez View Ferris Wheel, and ponders about letting her family tear it down when its such an important part to Nimbasa's image.
Clerk Katie ( Driftveil ) - the sole office lady in the Drifveil Gym, she eventually decides to stop being a gym trainer after having way too many near-death accidents in its gym- but she finds it fun, so Clay just had her moved upstairs. Knowledgeable about all of Driftveil, and handles most of its affairs when Clay isn't around, which also includes regulating and keeping watch over the house that the old members of Team Plasma are living in.
Pilot Chase ( Mistralton ) - one of the pilots who works at Mistralton Airport, and considered Skyla's best gym trainer. Just a simple everyman who lives in Mistralton City with his family, but he's entrusted to conduct aerial patrols aboard his Unfezant from time to time. He convinces Skyla to change her gym challenge upon receiving way too many complaints about how dangerous it is- and tries to justify why the new gym's fans are much safer than the old one's canons.
Black Belt Thomas ( Icirrus ) - a pupil of Brycen, who says he comes all the way from the Fighting Dojo at Kanto. He's quite disappointed when Brycen retires, but is also surprised to find out his co-star is Sabrina, the gym leader who overtook Black Belt Koichi's gym. He spends his days living quietly in Icirrus, but often helps clean the entrance to Dragonspiral Tower; as well as keep trespassers out.
Veteran Kim and Veteran Ron ( Opelucid ) - a battle couple who were a pair of ace trainers in their youth; Kim decided she wanted to become stronger following her lost to N in BW, so she traveled the world while Ron stayed behind in Unova to take her place. Ron, comically, dislikes N as a result, but has nothing but respect for his wife's wishes. Rumors surround them, saying that they used to be a pair of crimestoppers in their youth.. though this isn't confirmed. Kim is more serious and focused, while Ron is more upbeat and silly.
Guitarist Billy Jo ( Virbank ) - a childhood friend of Roxie's, who she shares the dream of playing in a band with. She held onto their dream even when Roxie focused temporarily on her Pokemon journey, and helped her file for a gym in Virbank when the spot was opened. As she grew up with Roxie, she also grew up helping her raise Rosa, and knows both Nate and Hugh as a result. Admires Hilda.
Ace Trainer Santino (Humilau) - an ace trainer from Hoenn, who travels all over the world with his partner Walrein. He hasn't been in Unova for too long, but, coming from Hoenn, he knows about the seas and water-type Pokemon fairly well, making him perfect to be the gym's guide. He's pleasantly surprised to find a lot of Unova's league members (Cheren, Grimsley, Shauntal, Skyla, and Nate) are Hoennian like him. Unfortunately, he was also there during the whole Emerald plot in Hoenn, so seeing Team Plasma play around with the elements reminds him of home.

Friend Ball - What’s the silliest thing that’s happened to you?
One day, about two years ago, I had three particular things I wanted to do. I decided to consolidate these three things into one thing. They were as follows.
1. I wanted to ride the Rondez-View Ferris Wheel in Nimbasa City.
2. I wanted to bring Sylvan onto said Ferris Wheel. (He had never been on it before! I was determined to change this.)
3. I wanted to ask Sylvan to be my boyfriend.
So, we came to Nimbasa City and got on the Ferris wheel. I love Ferris Wheels... and I got quite caught up in telling Sylvan all about them. Before I knew it... the ride had ended. And I hadn't fulfilled the third task on my list!
he brought me up there to ask me out and then forgot to ask me out because he was too busy infodumping. it was incredible. i never knew one person could have that many things to say about ferris wheels.
We decided to spend some time in other parts of the amusement park. Eventually I brought him back on the Ferris Wheel and finally asked him out. I understand that it wasn't necessary to be on the Ferris Wheel in order to ask Sylvan to be my boyfriend, but... I wanted to be on the Ferris Wheel. So there.
... Sylvan thought it was a prank. When I told him how I felt. But that's not silly, it's mostly just sad.
i feel like i should be offended but you're not wrong.

Day 11: Amusement
(More AO3? Nice)
The Rondez-View was a symbol for Nimbasa, surely, but it was only one part of a much bigger whole during Oktoberfest. While their parents and uncle are off sampling stouts and sausages, the boys tear off into the festivities alongside Elesa, the trio of pre-teens weaving between tables and stands as they approach the looming ferris wheel. And as the circular contraption towers above, the true prize lay before them - The temporary amusement park, Unovan Midway.
“Roller Coaster is open again,” Emmet says, pointing across the Midway to the building next to the Rondez-View. “First or last?”
“I wanna do the bumper cars,” Elesa says, her face splitting into a smile more than wide enough to show her braces. “I’m gonna get so much whiplash that mom is gonna be mad!”
“Bumper cars do sound like a lot of fun!” Ingo says, bouncing up onto his tiptoes to attempt to look over the crowd. Even though their father Fring and uncle Drayden were both towering men, Ingo and Emmet had yet to hit any form of growth spurt. “I wouldn’t mind looking to see if they have another one of those log water slides like they did last year. It’s certainly warm enough for it, don’t you think, Brother?”
Emmet nods enthusiastically. “I am Emmet! I was sweating today! There should be water rides, yup yup.” Emmet continues to nod for a moment before pausing, and looking over at Elesa. “Wait a minute. Didn’t you say that you had a friend from Mistralton was here?”
“Yeah, Sk-” Elesa begins to speak before she is suddenly tackled, stumbling to her side with a shriek.
“Lessie!!” The red-headed girl who suddenly appeared shouts. “You gotta follow me, they have a drop tower!”
“No thank you,” both twins immediately say, shaking their heads in unison as Skyla sticks her tongue out at them. “Our tracks remain on the ground.”

Ingo in Wonderland Ch.10
Shocking, Electrifying, Absol-utely Stunning! (Pt.I)
Preview:
Having had enough time to rest, Ingo finds himself once again facing the crowded streets of Raimon City, but this time it’s more bearable. He stands up taller in order to better wade through the throngs of people and pokemon and looks around at the many buildings, noting that some are more crowded than others. It’s likely that they hold attractions of their own and Ingo has absolutely no idea how he’s supposed to find Akari in this whole mess.
“Maybe the ferris wheel will help?” Kudari suggests from their perch on Ingo’s shoulder.
“I believe it’s called the Rondez-View? I don’t think higher elevation would assist in searching through this dense crowd, however.” Ingo’s loud voice easily carries over the noise.

Arceus, This Is A Train Wreck: Chapter 2
Emmet hates having his world turned upside down. Hates it. But this past year has been nothing but living in an upside down world. He had been somewhat successful in adapting to this new world. And after all that adjusting a total stranger had come in and kicked Emmet’s world on its side.
----------
Oh my goodness, thanks y’all for all the love on my previous chapter! Here’s chapter 2! Hate wins!
I will do my best to tag everything appropriately but do not hesitate to DM or send me an ask if you would like anything tagged that I have missed.
TW for blood, mentions of violence, and violence.
<-CHAPTER 1 O CHAPTER 3->
Chapter 2 Emmet POV
Emmet hates having his world turned upside down. Hates it. But this past year has been nothing but living in an upside down world. Emmet had been somewhat successful in adapting to this new world. And after all that adjusting a total stranger had come in and kicked Emmet’s world on its side.
He couldn’t help being intrigued by Volo’s offer. In the months after Ingo’s disappearance local detectives and the community alike had been helpful. The investigation even attracted the help of some detectives nationally. Still after months of searching, practically turning Gear Station upside down, no one was able to find a lead like this. This compelled Emmet to believe Volo was lying. Was Volo hoping to use Emmet and then betray him when he got what he wanted? To lie to a desperate man and use his desperation? This was upsetting to think about.
Emmet’s thoughts returned to the picture Volo had given him. He tenderly pulled it out of a drawer he had placed the photo in for safe keeping and stared at it.
“Warden Ingo of Pearl Clan,” Emmet muttered.
A lengthy internet search and some scrolling though historical records about ‘Hisuian Wardens’, whatever those where, led him to a short list of wardens from Hisui and sure enough Ingo’s name was listed.
Emmet’s runaway train of thought was interrupted from a call from Elesa. Thank Arceus. I need a distraction.
----------
Ultimately, despite his best judgment, Emmet accepted Volo’s offer to talk. He only hoped for two things,
1. that curiously would not kill the Purrloin, and
2. that he would be able to keep his cool and not break Volo’s nose.
----------
After a curt conversation over the phone, Emmet declared that best place would be the Rondez-View Ferris Wheel, in Nimbasa City.
Volo snickered.
“What’s so funny.”
Volo’s voice was seeping with amusement. “Well, I just got the impression that you didn’t like me.”
“I don’t. What does this have to do with the location I selected. You wanted something public but private enough for us to talk without being overheard.”
“Yes, yes and this is perfect, see you on out date then.” Volo purred.
“What-?”
Volo hung up. Then Emmet realized what Volo meant.
----------
It was a cool morning in Nimbasia City. Emmet could not help but let the excitement and nerves get to him as he was getting ready. He was excited because this could be just the lead he needed to find Ingo, but he was also nervous because he couldn’t bear to get his hopes up just to have them squandered. No matter how many times it happened Emmet never managed to get used to now much it hurt.
Despite this he managed to push down some food and head out the door with plenty of time to spare. Just in case he elected to take his Eelektross and his Archeops, has he still did not fully understand Volo’s intentions. Truly I’m giving Volo the benefit of the doubt with just two Pokémon.
Arriving to the Rondez-View Ferris Wheel head of schedule he awaited Volo’s arrival. Emmet waved at a few trainers he recognized from the Battle Subway as he waited. When Volo walked up, Emmet was in the middle of advising an Ace Trainer working on the Multi Battles line about the best way to protect a weakness their Pokémon partner was struggling with.
The Ace Trainer glanced between the two curiously. “Oh, I’m sorry where you waiting for him? Feel free to interrupt.”
Before Emmet could speak, Volo quickly spoke up, “Yes, I was waiting for Emmet in fact! He invited me to ride the Ferris wheel with him. But no worries I can wait.”
To make matters worse, Volo proceeded to wink at the trainer.
The Ace Trainer excused themselves leaving Emmet and Volo. Volo and Emmet. Two individuals about to ride a Ferris wheel together. Alone. Two individuals, who, given their situation, likely should not be left alone. A cool breeze dances through them, ruffling Volo’s hair and Emmet’s coat.
Emmet breaks the silence.
“Why would you say that to them?”
“Hm? Who?” Volo smiles innocently.
“That trainer I was directing.”
“Oh,” a smug grin arises on Volo’s face, “For fun. Then again, I’m not wrong, you did in invite me to a Ferris wheel.”
“And wink?”
“For fun.”
Emmet hopes the irritation shows on his face.
“Shall we.”
Emmet nods in agreement and they turn towards the Ferris wheel.
--------
“Oh where do I even begin!” Volo said, leaning back on his side of the compartment. He sat confidently; his hand made a strange motion. He created an ‘L’ with his hand and pointed up, holding his hand just below his chin. Volo’s eyebrows raised but his grey eyes were lidded. Smug bastard.
“I am from Hisui. It is the region you know of today as Sinnoh, but roughly a hundred or so years ago. I was a wanderer, a traveling merch-“
“Halt. You are from a place roughly a hundred or so years ago, making you? What?” Emmet scoffed.
“Immortal, I am immortal. No, I do not want to elaborate.”
Surprise flashes on Emmet’s face but he lets this explanation slide, after all that’s not entirely unheard of. He did however make sure to add this information to his growing collection of ‘reasons why Volo is a shady bitch’. If Volo was telling the truth, his appearance was one of a younger man roughly in his late twenties. He showed no signs of aging, no wrinkles and he moved with all the gusto a young man could hope to have. Quite frankly the only reference to a long life that Emmet could see where Volo’s hands, both being slightly scarred.
There are many different mythical and legendary Pokémon out there with the power to make this to happen. Based on Volo’s attitude Emmet wondered if he had been gifted with immortality or punished with it. Had he charmed his way to immortality? Emmet could also see this being a possibility.
Volo continues, “I was a traveling merchant with a deep love for myths and legends, I still do today. Because of my reverence for the mythological, I found purpose in a noble mission gifted to me by Arceus itself.” Volo said with a giddy grin, beaming with pride. He held both of his arms out grandly and tilted his head towards the sky, which to his credit was facing the sky and not the bottom of another Ferris wheel compartment.
Ah so this guy’s crazy. Emmet wondered if he had ever seen anyone more full of themselves than how Volo looked in this moment, unlikely.
“Along my journey I met many people. But after I failed my mission, I knew I couldn’t let the failure stop me.”
Ah so this guy’s crazy, and obsessive. What a charmer.
“So, I spoke to as many people as I could, gathering information. Anything that I could use in the future. This is where Ingo comes in. I had known Ingo before my failure and didn’t think much of him, aside from the strange fact he wasn’t afraid of Pokémon. Ingo’s strange speech pattern and references to something called trains was all foreign to me, but I wrote everything down. I knew one day it would make sense. And now it does.”
“Ingo never spoke of a twin, but he spoke of someone who looked just like him, and how this person loved battling. And after a very long time I found my way to you, Emmet.”
Emmet found himself struggling to pay attention. His mind was beginning to race. Ingo had been lost in time. His mind was racing like a runaway train with miles of track ahead. Of course, no one could find his brother because he was living a hundred and some years ago.
Fuck.
He wanted to punch something.
He wanted to punch Volo, but he had not motivation to, after all, as smug and rude Volo acted, he was the closest he could get to seeing Ingo again. Volo was the closest anyone had gotten him to seeing his best friend again. He sat quietly gripping his seat, eyes down cast, shaded by his hat.
Volo had stopped talking to glace over at Emmet, “Emmet?”
“I am Emmet.” A pause.
Focus, “My apologies do not allow me to derail you. As I’m sure you can understand this is difficult for me. I would like to ask about your mission.” He said, composing himself slightly.
“Roughly a hundred and some years ago I was in the middle of something. Something big and important, for the betterment for people and Pokémon. And I was interrupted by someone, an evil doer, and I was not able to complete my mission.” Volo gave the vaguest answer he could. Of course he did.
“I need more detail than that.”
“Awfully direct for the first date, aren’t you Emmet?”
“This isn’t-“
Volo brushed Emmet off, “I am not sure I can trust you.”
Emmet figured he might as well continue the conversation. Seeing as the ride was far from reaching its terminus.
“So, who exactly was this ‘evil doer’?”
“Ah yes! This is important for you.” Volo said, keen to change the subject. “This individual was also pulled back in time, a very competent trainer, they were able to best me at my most powerful and stop the completion of my mission. You see the god of evil, the legendary Pokémon Giratina, wanted to stop me from reaching my goal so he took not one but two powerful trainers from the future. Ingo was the other.”
Ah.
He stood up. He grinned as his gloved fist grabbed Volo by the collar and tugged Volo off of his seat. Volo made no move to stand or stop him. He felt the rage and pain of losing his brother manifest into something violent. Emmet was going to make someone pay and he was going to regret this. He needed a reason not to break this man’s nose.
Volo raised his eyebrows in surprise and stared into Emmet’s eyes and seething grin. Volo leaned toward him and smirked. “You wouldn’t.”
He did. In a swift movement he yanked Volo up and thundered his fist down on Volo’s pretty face. Emmet punched him square in the nose, and it was extremely satisfying. The release of anger and power through his fist was cathartic. To hold the man that subjected him to a year of mourning and loneliness and to shatter his smug expression. Just what he needed. To finally have so much control, to finally have so much power over something, someone, yes someone so-
Something fluttered in Emmet’s chest.
Volo groaned from below Emmet, still within his grip. He was quick to shoot Emmet a smug look. “You needed that, huh?”
Volo was promptly dropped on the ground. Emmet’s smile fell slightly, as he was struggling to bring his thoughts back down to Unova. His rage was quickly taking a backseat to embarrassment. He reminded himself that he was supposed to hate this guy. He did, he did hate Volo. Then why did he enjoy that. It was probably just the pent up rage right? Emmet felt flustered. He hoped the heat on his face could be mistaken for anger.
He remained standing while Volo tenderly touched his nose, assessing the damage. Emmet snapped out of his train of thought after a few more moments at the sound of Volo hissing after pressing on a especially painful spot on his nose. Emmet wanted to ignore how the sight of Volo crumbled at his feet drove him crazy. He hoped it was crazy in a attack, kill, kill, bite way and produced a handkerchief from his coat and held it down to Volo.
He would have to worry about these confusing thoughts later.
“Here.”
“Wow chivalry isn’t dead.”
Volo makes a point to get as much blood as he can from his hand to Emmet’s glove as possible in this exchange.
“Gross.”
“Says the man who punched me.” Volo mumbled though the handkerchief.
“I believe it was deserved. You’ve been a smug bastard, toying with me about Ingo.”
“I did not intend for your brother to be taken from you, and if you’re willing to help me I can return him to you.” He said seriously, then with a smirk he added. “Also, I enjoy toying with people, I am finding you particularly fun to toy with.”
Emmet grinned daggers at him.
“You’re clearly very strong Emmet and I haven’t been able to find help from someone so competent or motivated to reach this goal.” Volo said coolly, “That’s why I want your help.”
Emmet stares down the blonde at his feet. “Will you still be so smug?”
“Yes, it’s part of my charm.” Charming is one way to put it.
Emmet sighed. “Yes, I will help you and you will help me.”
“Excellent.” Volo hissed.
“Do I have permission to quit groveling?” Emmet grimaced, well as best as he could with his permanent grin, and helped the handsome man back up.
“I hate you.”
“You too.”
--------
“So are you going to apologize for punching me.”
“No.”
“Will I get a warning next time?”
“Your warning is that it will likely happen again if you aren’t careful.”
Volo nodded and checked his bloody nose.

A Monster of His Own Making (M(T)PJ: Ditto Defect)
Whumpcember 2022 Day 10
Whumpcember Prompt Masterlist
Prompt: "I won't leave you."
Word Count: Four scenes of ~250 words each, 1k total
This is a part of a personal Pokémon Fanfiction series, My (Twisted) Pokémon Journey, and is looking at a part of a story that I haven't gotten to and put out there yet, Ditto Defect, but have MANY ideas for. This is a short little overview through a secondary POV character, N. It's set in Unova with Team Plasma as the antagonists, though I have a nice little OC antagonist so I don't have to struggle with too many canon characters.
My (Twisted) Pokémon Journey Masterlist
This short is from N’s POV, multiple moments in the story that went wrong as he’s trying to do what he thinks is right and best, actively being ruined by Team Plasma and concerning the main POV character, Crystal. Enjoy!
🙞 🙟 🙝 🙜
N sat with Crystal in Nimbasa City's Rondez-View Ferris wheel. He recognized her eyes – the defensive, scared look. Even as she pushed it down, he almost could see it all the more clearly. What makes you so afraid?
He knew that nearly having her Luxray stolen must be weighing on her mind, but that wasn't all. Her Pokémon knew it, too, he could see how protective of their trainer they were. He had noticed their distrusting stares, their silence and rigidity when he was around.
He just wanted to promise that he wouldn't leave her to her fear. Revealing his role as King of Team Plasma was meant to be comforting, reassuring, something positive and beneficial. He could tell that her Pokémon cared deeply for her, and her for them. This wasn't an example of a bad trainer. Maybe he could help her, and she could help him free abused Pokémon. If she loves them so much, surely—
But she only distrusted him more, once he revealed his secret and learned of hers. Their brief time wandering around Castelia City and Nimbasa City didn't matter. She saw him as a threat to her safety, saw Team Plasma as a threat to her Pokémon. You’re so concerned with what happens to everyone else after you're caught by them. But not about what happens to you. After Team Plasma's actions at the Castelia City Pokémon Center, N couldn't really blame her. But he wished that she wouldn't compare him to them.
🙞 🙟 🙝 🙜
Per last order. P2 Lab.
N could only think about the message. He'd wanted to help her, but instead all this turned out to be his fault... Them finding her was his fault, and his failure to put an end to the P2 Laboratory.
He sat in his room at N Castle. He thought of the Pokémon he had been given to care for throughout his childhood and adolescence. In another time, he could almost imagine Crystal here. He wasn't sure what form she had, or what age she could have come here as, but he could almost imagine hearing a conversation between her and Ghetsis, or maybe the Shadow Triad, or soothing a scared Pokémon, all just out of sight. In another, better time, she could have learned of his purpose, their purpose, and they could free Pokémon from people forever.
But in reality, she was the one he had to free.
N let the anger come. He felt it, then took a breath to compose himself. He wouldn't just let them use her. He promised he wouldn't let them use her as a weapon, he wouldn't leave her to that fate that the Genesect had. It was time to make good on that promise. He would go to the P2 Laboratory himself.
He would burn it to the ground if he had to.
🙞 🙟 🙝 🙜
N watched, through his own eyes, as the Team Plasma members detained the paralyzed amalgamation of an Alolan Ninetales and Vaporeon – That's Crystal, not some creature – and he couldn't do a thing about it. All he could do, as the king of Team Plasma, was promise her, I won't leave you to this fate, and hope that he could keep the promise.
Her eyes found him, as someone with a syringe approached her, and he saw the snarl start on her face – before it laxed, and then her eyes closed. She had tried fighting to keep them open, but even a shape-shifter like her couldn't fight poison and sedatives.
He kept his composure as they entered the underground portion of the P2 Laboratory. He played his part, acted as they expected him to, but he was stuck on how Crystal was taking the repercussions for his mistakes. I really meant it. I meant to protect you. But I didn't think I had to protect you from my own people. He watched them, detached, as they dragged her soaking and unconscious body away, tangled in the net and the blue Frillish that clung to her, the heavy and limp Vaporeon tail leaving a streak of water behind them.
He couldn't follow them then, but he knew that he'd find her in the observation laboratory. He had to make his presence known, and make them believe he was willing to help them – whatever their goals were for using Crystal. For the greater good of Pokémon, he thought bitterly.
🙞 🙟 🙝 🙜
He stared, blankly, in shock at the creature that had once been a friend. The distrust that he had accepted was replaced by hostility and snarling. Her dark fur, no longer snow-white, couldn't have been a choice of her own. Even the Vaporeon leg and tail had a strange, ash-like hue.
Something glowed a molten orange in her mane. Some kind of crystal, or stone. He could see a collar of sorts under the chains that didn't let her venture far from the back wall.
"I guess I have to fix this before it gets worse," N told her, guilty. "What are they doing to you?"
Crystal just snarled at him, as if she were feral. More feral than anything he had seen, since—
Those Pokémon, he realized. Fifteen years ago. Those dark Pokémon. It took so long for them to return to normal... He didn't remember how they were calmed, he just remembered that they had been cured.
"How do I help you? How do I sooth you?" N asked Crystal, not expecting an answer. He could see the pain in her angry eyes.
Then he remembered. She mentioned going to sleep to some music she collected from her travels. They never said that they had her stuff. But why would they?
"I'm going to find your music, and then you'll start recovering. I'll be back. I won't leave you here."

and if you need a prompt.... home/cozy
//a softer one!
[The view outside of Vanilla's floor-length windows is splendid, as it has been for the past six months.
Today, soft flakes of snow fall on Nimbasa. In the distance, lovers wait in long lines for the Rondez-View ferris wheel.
Vanilla, waiting patiently to be called for whatever the Cresses wanted of her, stares out at the line, trying to make out the figures of the pairs. Were there any pairs of women out there...? Was that girl...? No, there was no way they were meeting her again.
"Vanillaaaaaa! Could you come downstairs, sweetie? Darling? Our lovely daughter? It's important!"
Vanilla chuckled to themselves. They were trying. He still didn't understand why, but they were. And so she stepped lightly down the stairs, avoiding the weak points where the boards creaked, illusion worn like a shroud as Wolfgang bound past her with reckless abandon. What could this possibly be, any... ways...?
"Surprise!!!"
Under the intertwining branches of the replica Entree, which Vanilla helped the Cresses set up two weeks ago for reasons they didn't quite understand at the time, sat artfully wrapped boxes and bags of just about every size, holding Arc knows what. Wolfgang sniffed each of the boxes eagerly, stopping to point out one to Vanilla he was certain was absolutely packed with Pecha berries. The fireplace burned with warmth. The smell of cinnamon buns carried from the kitchen where Mr. Cress hummed some holiday tune they had played on the radio earlier. This was...
"Oh, Vanilla, do you like it? I know you've never done anything for the Feast of the Twin Dragons before, so we went a little overboard... is that okay? It might take a while to open all of it, but... we tried to get stuff that you and your little Wolfgang would like! Um... but... do you want breakfast first, or... oh! Oh, it's okay, we don't have to do any of that, we don't--"
Vanilla tried to wipe at their traitor eyes quietly, but their body still shook with the sudden heaves of their chest. Too much. Too good. He hadn't done a damn thing right, and still...
Mr. Cress's voice from the kitchen. "Oh. Oh, shit, is she crying now? Hold on, I'm coming! And I smell like a cinnamon bun factory! You can't cry in a cinnamon bun factory!"
And he smelled like a cinnamon bun factory as he wrapped the spindly tween in a slightly-too-tight bear hug, Wolfgang curled at her feet.]

(Part 3 of ?)
They go through a couple more stops before Ingo indicates that its time to get off. He doesn’t let go of his hand as he leads him off the train and through another complicated underground hub as if he knows exactly where he’s going. He explains that they’ll have to make a connection to get to their final destination. He stops at a map on the wall and tries to explain how he knows which way to go, but Melli doesn’t follow most of it, and he doesn’t really care. Ingo clearly knows his way around, and he’s content to follow him.
They jump on another train--this one driven by someone other than his brother--and take it through three more stops before Ingo says, “This is it.”
They emerge from the station and into the sunlight. Melli has to blink a few times for his eyes to adjust.
When they do, he blinks a couple more times in disbelief. “What’s with the giant donut?”
“The ferris wheel?” Ingo asks, sounding amused.
“Is that what its called?” Melli asks, watching as it slowly rotates.
“Yes,” Ingo says, and before he can ask, launches into an explanation. “You get in the cars at the bottom and it takes you up to the top, and then back down again. It’s a pretty view from the highest point. You can see the entire city.”
This sounds intriguing, but not terrifying, like the train. It’s moving a such a leisurely, lazy pace; it can’t possibly be scary. “Can we ride it?”
The Rondez View wasn’t on the schedule, but Ingo doesn’t hesitate before saying, “Of course.”
He takes his hand again and alters course to the ferris wheel. There doesn’t seem to be much of a line and they’re pretty much able to step right on. Despite Melli’s insistence on not being afraid, he still reaches for Ingo when the thing lurches into motion before very slowly starting to ascend.
“Have you ever ridden this thing before?” asks Melli as their little glass capsule rises towards the sun.
Ingo has to think for a bit before he answers. Most of his memories have returned, but sometimes, he finds himself reaching for the smaller ones. “Yes, once, with Emmet. It had to have been when we’d just moved to the city. He wanted to see what it looked like from above.”
Melli diverts his eyes beyond the glass, and his breath catches in his throat. The view is unbelievable. A sprawling urban landscape spreads below them, full of sleek buildings and neon lights that are starting to blink on as the sun is setting. Beyond that, though, he can make out the golden dunes of a sandy desert on one side and lush green trees on the other. He still finds it kind of hard to believe that a place like this is actually real, that he’s actually right here, right now, with Ingo.
He’s too distracted trying to take everything in for much conversation throughout the ride, but on their descent, Ingo glances at him sidelong and asks, “So what did you think of the view?”
In response, he leans over and gives him a peck on the cheek. He smiles, relishing the shade of red that Ingo’s face turns and how flustered he looks when he does so, and says, “It was spectacular. But not as spectacular as you are.”

Elesa visiting Sningo for the first time since his return
This turned out to be really long. Sorry if there’s typos or it doesn’t make sense. I am tired and ill lol.
- x -
Ingo anxiously paced up and down in the bedroom he shared with his brother. Emmet had told him to stay put until he came back as he needed to set up decorations for Ingo’s welcome home surprise party. Or at least it was supposed to be a surprise party, but unlike when Ingo was a human, he had amazing smell and accidentally stumbled on the cake Emmet had tucked away in a cupboard. Even though he knew it was happening, Emmet wanted to keep as much of it a surprise as possible, but Ingo’s scowl was enough to remind Emmet that Ingo was not a big fan of surprises, that they made him anxious. So Emmet divulged the key details. One - it’s a party celebrating Ingo’s return to Unova. Two - Elesa would also be coming.
Ingo had been back in Unova for about 2 months, but Emmet held back on throwing a party because there were many unknowns surrounding Ingo’s reappearance. It worked out in the end because Elesa was pretty booked up with gigs anyways, but today? Today was her day to see Ingo again after his 3 year disappearance.
Emmet suddenly swung the bedroom door open, causing Ingo to flinch and let out a startled squeak.
“Oh sorry Ingo,” he said upon noticing Ingo’s frightened expression. “Did I scare you?” Ingo exhaled, then shook his head. Emmet smiled wildly. “I know this party is for you, but I am so excited! Elesa is too! She wants to see you. I want her to see you, too!” As Emmet monologued excitedly, flapping his arms, Ingo’s stomach silently stirred in fear. “She missed you a lot too. You’re a Sneasel now but…” Emmet paused, then took a moment to look at Ingo. His brother looked like he was staring at a ghost. The sudden eye contact snapped Ingo back into reality, to which he tried to hide his anxiety.
“Is something wrong? You seem on edge.” Ingo, not wishing to damped his brother’s excitement, shook his head. He then, using his claws, tried to lift the corners of his mouth, a joke Emmet used to make when Ingo once confronted him and asked him to be taught how to smile. Emmet recognised that Ingo was using humour to deflect.
“If you are anxious about not seeing the decorations then I can-“
Ingo shook his head aggressively. That’s not why he was anxious at all. Emmet put a hand to his chin, pouting a little as he tried to figure out what could be making Ingo anxious. He then had a thought.
“Could it be that…you don’t remember Elesa?” Emmet said, trying not to sound worried. Ingo looked up at Emmet, then shook his head. Emmet’s heart sank. “No as in you don’t remember her or no as in you do?” Ingo scowled, then scuttled past Emmet out of the bedroom. Emmet flinched as he didn’t want Ingo to see the decorations yet, but given the situation he felt it was unwise to stop his brother. He followed Ingo into the living room, who had managed to climb up onto the couch and was frantically pointing at a framed picture hanging above the couch. It was a picture of Ingo, Emmet and Elesa by the Rondez-View Ferris wheel. Emmet stared blankly at Ingo, who was now tapping his chin with his claw. He suddenly had an idea.
He linked one claw with the other, then looked up at Emmet. Emmet looked for a second, then quickly recognised what Ingo was trying to do - he was signing ‘friend’. As children, Ingo learned and taught Emmet sign for when Emmet was too overwhelmed to speak.
Emmet suddenly lit up again. “So you do recognise her?” Ingo nodded, to which Emmet sighed in relief. He then realised that Ingo’s cause of anxiety was still unknown. He looked back at Ingo, who was once again pointing at the picture. Emmet walked closer, staring at the picture. He looked at Ingo again, then followed his claw. He was pointing at himself. His human self. Ohh…that’s what this was about. Ingo was worried about seeing Elesa because he wasn’t human anymore.
“Ingo, are you worried Elesa seeing you as a Sneasel?” Ingo nodded. “Are you…afraid she won’t recognise you?” Ingo shook his head. “Then…you’re afraid she will view you differently?” Ingo stayed still for a moment, then broke eye contact and nodded. Emmet knelt down on the floor next to the couch, making him eye level with Ingo.
“You know she misses you, right? She knows you are a Sneasel. We sent her a picture, remember? I am Emmet. You are Ingo, my brother. That won’t change. And she knows that, too.” Ingo looked at Emmet with glassy eyes, then embraced Emmet in a hug. They remained in each other’s arms until there was a knock on the door, which caused Ingo to recoil.
“Ingo, it will be okay. And if it is too much, you can go into the bedroom, okay? I will cover for you. Just like you used to do for me when we were kids.” Ingo took a deep breath, then nodded at Emmet. He wasn’t alone. Emmet was on his side.
Emmet walked up to the door then opened it. Elesa smiled widely and lifted up a large gift bag gleefully.
“Hey Emmet!” she said excitedly, then hugged him with her free arm. “It’s been a while. Sorry it took me so long to come visit.” She then pulled back and Emmet let her into the house. Elesa set the bag down and very quickly met eyes with Ingo, who froze in place. Elesa’s face remained expressionless for a moment, but she soon beamed. “Hey Ingo!” she greeted excitedly. She then knelt down and opened her arms. Ingo stood motionless for a second. “Not one of those days, I guess? No worries!”
Elesa was very much used to Ingo not wanting a hug. Though Emmet was very comfortable with hugging Elesa, she knew Ingo had his days where he did not want to be touched. Before Elesa could get back up on her feet, Ingo bolted off of the couch and hugged Elesa tightly. She smelt just like how he remembered, which was a great comfort to him. After recovering from her surprise, Elesa hugged him back.
“I missed you, ya big goof”, she said gently, choking up a little. They held each other for a moment, then pulled back. Ingo looked past Elesa, then pointed and let out a monotonous “sne”. Elesa looked behind her to see Emmet towering over the gift bags, peering into them curiously.
“Oi Emmet,” Elesa said sharply, to which Emmet glanced over smiling. “Those are for your better half, remember?” Ingo then looked up at Elesa. He had feared that Elesa wouldn’t treat him the same, that she would view him differently now that he wasn’t a human. But hearing her act and talk just like always - it was a huge weight off of his chest.
Ingo then realised what Elesa said, letting out an inquisitive “sne?” Elesa smiled, then stood up and grabbed the bag, bringing them to Ingo. “These are for you!” Ingo tipped the bag over and was surprised to see what appeared to be a variety of clothes. He pulled one out and realised it looked familiar. Oh wait…the patterns…they’re the same as his favourite train patterned pyjamas, but smaller and they didn’t have buttons.
“In one of the pictures Emmet sent me,” Elesa suddenly spoke. “You wear wearing your old cape and hat, but they were way too big for you. And it reminded me of something you said once. You told me that you wear your clothes because they help you to express yourself, to show the world that you are Ingo. When I first heard you had finally been found, I wanted so badly to get you a gift. I wanted to give you the most extravagant outfit. But then I found out you were a Sneasel now.” She then smiled gently at Ingo. “I know you won’t be one forever, but I want still want you to feel confident, to be able to express yourself to the world just like before. So I wanted to get you some clothes that are the ones you always loved, but Sneasel-proofed!”
Elesa picked up a shirt from inside the bag, then tugged it a little. “I asked my designer to make the fabric durable and elasticated so that you could put the clothes on easily without ripping it. Oh, but none of your button up shirts are..well, button up. I wasn’t sure whether you’d be able to do them up with your claws, hence the elasticity of the clothes.”
Ingo rummaged around in the bag again, poking his head in and almost disappearing inside it. He then suddenly stopped moving for a moment. Emmet tilted his head curiously. Ingo crawled out of the bag with a black and red striped cape - his subway uniform. He looked up at Elesa with glassy eyes.
“Aww come on Ingo, don’t look at me like that! You know if you cry, I’ll cry too, right?” Ingo then used his claws to try and make a smiling face, which caused Elesa to burst out laughing. It had been a long time since she had seen Ingo do that.
Ingo then put his coat on. Looking up at Emmet, he readied himself, then pointed up at Emmet. Emmet’s eyes lit up with excitement and he then posed back, which encouraged a chuckle from Elesa.
For the first time since arriving back in Unova, Ingo felt confident in his new body. He wasn’t Sneasel, he was still Ingo.
