once you started seeing stanley cups all over your tiktok for you page you were hooked. you went straight to target and bought the light pink 40oz, so excited about your new cup!

today, rafe was taking you to the beach so that you would finally stop making fun of him for "not going outside". once you got the "i'm outside" text you slipped on your pink flipflops, grabbed your stanley, and made your way out the door and into rafe's car.

once you got in the car, you noticed the confused expression on his face. "why are you carrying a pink metal jug around" he questioned, eyeing the dainty pink ribbon tied around the handle.

"it's a stanley cup! they're all over my tiktok feed i had to buy it. isn't it pretty?" you chirped into his ear, looking up at him while taking a sip from the white straw sticking out the top of he cup. "what's the point? just carry around a regular water bottle like a normal person" he scoffed, a confused expression still on his face as he focused on the road.

"rafe! you're such a guy you'll never get it!" you rant, jaw dropped in disbelief over the fact he insulted your cup. "i-" he laughs, rolling his eyes at you. "just don't understand why you need that big thing, baby it's like half your size" he continues to laugh, peering over your shoulder while trying to find a spot in the crowded beach parking lot.

"i have to stay hydrated! it's cute, pink, and has a bow. what's not to like about it?" you continue, flailing your hands around as you argue with him. "s'all i'm saying is that it's impractical. 'm not carrying it either" his voice slowly drifting out as he gets out of the car walking to the trunk to retrieve your bags and beach chairs.

"but rafe! it's heavy and i have to carry my bag" you argue, giving him your best pout. he grabs the cup out of your hand, toying with the ribbon tied around the handle.

"fine, fine, fine i'll carry it. stop with the pout" he scoffs, placing his free arm around you as you walked up the beach.

Reserved and indifferent.

That would be how you'd describe Sunday upon first meeting him. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary - just a way of business and that was all. Everyone needs a boundary when it comes to customers, of course, so it made perfect sense.

Epescially with particular visitors of Penacony.

Yet, as you carried on with your stay and passed him by whilst he did his duty, it felt...strange. He seemed different, somehow. Different in a way that made you uneasy. The way his gaze lingered after a distant exchange of polite smiles and how he appeared more frequently around you seemed intentional. Were you deemed suspicious in some way to The Family or was it more personal...? Either way, it made you anxious. It felt as if you were being surveyed each time you stepped from your room to experience Penacony. Perhaps even in your room too. It never felt like you were alone.

rosie is the only person that truly knows alastor down in hell; she understands him and accepts him and always makes sure he knows that. the only time alastor feels his smile can falter is around her.

i believe rosie is the only one to know all about alastor’s mother. him confiding in her on nights where he misses being a mamas boy and so badly craves her love. rosie is always there to give hers though. no matter what.

they gossip. i mean all the time. their favourite thing to do is spill tea about all their fellow overlords. you know rosie was the first person alastor told when he got confirmation on carmilla killing an angel. ‘you’ll never guess what i just found out, rosie dear‘ and they’d talk for hours about it too, always finishing the conversation off saying, ‘but who are we to judge,’ with big smiles across their faces. well even bigger than the permanent ones they always plaster.

speaking of tea, they consistently see eachother for tea parties, rosie making sure to procure the most finest of cannibal cuisine for her darling alastor. occasionally alastor would bring the meat for them, always of some pesky sinner who wronged them or a pathetic attempt of an overlord for them dine on as his way of showing her that he cares. but she already knows that.

they dance together. 100%. rosie’s is one of the only ones to share alastor’s love for the early 1900’s, his era. sometimes he misses the bars and the soft jazz of his human life and the way he would tear up the floor and dance with mimzy, being the best two out there. he can always count on rosie to help relive that part of his past. she'd be happy to be his dance partner til hells last dying days.

alastor may not know all that much about current slang or media but you bet that rosie is the one to teach him everything he knows. no old timey veteran like al is going to know the phrase ‘that’s the tea’, rosie was so proud when she heard that broadcast. he definitely went over after panicking, asking if he said it right.

on the topic of modern talk, rosie’s ‘ace in the hole’ joke definitely sent alastor for a spiral, “a what now!?”

they always encourage and humour eachothers evil and sadistic tendencies. giggling to eachother, knowing it’s wrong but caring so little as long as they have eachothers support. in fact 9/10 times the other is the cause of their bad habits.

all in all, they are platonic soulmates and neither would be without the other.

I'm brainrotting over the thing we see in Mamere's world quests, where each Mélusine has a "token" aka a small object that serves as their "proof of life" and is probably their single most important possession ever, because like. There's not really any human equivalent. So Wriothesley wouldn't really understand how/what/why Sigewinne considers this thing as almost as valuable as her own life, he just knows that it's important to her.

So I think if something were to happen, like Meropide springing a leak somewhere near Sigewinne's quarters, it'd cause a lot of distress for her. Everyone gets evacuated, because no, it's not pure Primordial Seawater like from the sluice gate, but y'know, it's still rushing water and still dangerous. A lot of inmates get banged up in the panic of evacuating and the flood, and as badly as Sigewinne wants to leave and go back for her token, she can't ignore it when her patients are hurt. So she swallows it down and blocks it out and tries to just get to work and desperately hope she can find it in the wreckage later.

They do a headcount and everybody but their duke is accounted for; someone remarks they saw him running towards the source of the water. Sigewinne is equal parts relieved and worried, because if anyone could at least temporarily stop the leak it would be Wriothesley, but also he gets reckless sometimes, so she really hopes he's careful about it.

It takes a while, but some of the inmates start yelling over by the rails, and when Sigewinne tells them to move over, she sees that Wriothesley is trudging his way back up to them from the lower level. The inmates are all so proud and excitable! That's their duke!! Wriothesley looks up and sees them all hanging over the rails, and from here Sigewinne can see that he's completely soaked. Wriothesley's skin is all irritated red and fever-flushed from the diluted Primordial Seawater, and he's littered with bruises and scrapes from the current battering him against the walls and the floors and the pipes and all kinds of debris.

Wriothesley looks up, but he doesn't say anything at first, he just scans his eyes back and forth over the crowd. Until finally, he locks eyes with Sigewinne, and raises his arm up.

And in his hand is the bag that Sigewinne keeps her token in.

And the inmates, not realizing what he's holding, take his raised arm as a victorious fist in the air and they all cheer haha. But Wriothesley doesn't look anywhere else, doesn't smile for anyone but Sigewinne. ♡

‘Rosy Blog Chic’ Makes it’s comeback for Spring

What is Rosy Blog Chic? Take a deep dive to 2013-2014 with me, the era of Instagram filters (No, not the face ones-- the original presets on the editing tool) Ariana Grande’s Yours Truly album and its impact on fashion at the time, and OG tumblr core. As Spring rolls around, I feel myself reaching for the same pins on pinterest that I did back on Weheartit in 2014... and I’m ready to bring it all back. 

The year is 2013, and you are sat in your bedroom watching Zoella on Youtube and painting your nails in a DIY manicure. Something about this era screams early girlhood, having fun and not caring if something is perfect, as long as it looks pretty. At the time, tumblr and Weheartit was alive with ‘rosy blogs’, and if you search hard enough-- the graveyards of abandoned blogs still remain untouched, like a time capsule of such treasured years, reaching its peak at 2014. 

Where did the name ‘rosy blog’ come from?

No one knows. After many google searches, and coming up with nothing -- I can only assume it was coined from the huge insurgence in ‘rose gold’ at it’s time, florals and roses being featured in lots of rosy blog posts, and the ‘rosy’ warm, pinky filter that was laid over all the images to give it that classic look it was known for. These days, the aesthetic is more popularly claimed as ‘girly 2014 aesthetic’, ‘yours truly era’ or simply ‘2014 core’. As a long time girly girl, I am truly advocating to bring this style back. Here’s how. 

FLORALS, FLORALS, FLORALS. 

Taking a step back into this era, what better time to incorporate floral prints into your wardrobe that spring? Ditzy print, crowded florals on dresses and skirts and sunflower crop tops (Think old American Apparel) are the perfect ways to incorporate a Rosy chic back into your wardrobe. It’s girly, and can be worn super casually as these are not items that technically ever went out of fashion or became played out. 

DOT, DOT, DOT...

Undeniably, polka dot was huge in this era. Something about it can be so youthful, whilst also carrying this timeless chic that is vaguely reminiscent of the 50′s/60′s (See Audrey Hepburn, or kitschy housewife aesthetic) A simple black and white will totally do the trick maybe with pearl accessories or ribbon embellishments but a pink and white polkadot is super adorable too! 

WHAT BRANDS?

When looking back at the fashion of this era, a few brands stick out to me as being staples of their time. Thanks to early Ariana Grande, Wildfox became hugely popular-- especially in their knit pull overs, sweaters, and sunglasses. They were often pastel colours, donning some kind of cute cartoon print over the top such as a rainbow, or hearts. Another big brand that took over this time period would be American Apparel, and a quick search into ‘vintage American Apparel’ or selling sites would lead you exactly to what you need, the same goes for Vintage Victoria’s Secret PINK items -- however you might find some luck in their current resurgence of ‘Originals’ now being sold on the website. I recently copped some OG fold over leggings! For more girly, era relevant brands-- look into H&M, Brandy Melville, vintage Topshop, Hollister and Abercrombie for that classic girly girl look. Or, dig back into your closet and see if you kept anything from this era!

COLLAGE AND PIC EDITING GALORE

To truly encapsulate the way this era unfolded, try your hand at taking cute pictures and laying an warm-vanilla toned filter preset over the top. In this era, people would take pictures of just about anything cutesy-- think your cute tea mug, a girly phone case, your strawberries and nutella mid day snack, this could even consist of whatever show you’re watching on Netflix photographed on your laptop on some sweet bed covers -- the perfect hobby for a lazy day! If you want to take it that step further, collate these pictures into a bordered collage to really push that early-years-instagram aesthetic. 

SO...WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? 

To begin with outfits, there are a few staples I would look out for. When thinking Rosy Blog Chic, what springs to mind instantly is a bralet / crop top paired with a skater skirt. At first glance, this sounds totally out dated-- but to me, there is something so timeless about these kind of looks. This will be perfect as the weather warms up, but whilst its still cold, you can always pair it with a chunky knit cardigan and tights-- also staples of its time. Pumps, mary-janes, brogues and flats are all appropriate shoe choices for this look. 

Another casual look that is less strictly 2014 would be an off the shoulder sweater, leggings / yoga pants, and a pair of ugg boots. This is more appropriate for colder days and definitely will give you an old school Victorias Secret model off duty look. 

A common theme in this era of online photo’s was pyjamas! Again, perfect for a lazy day-- the girl behind the camera was often seen to be donning full length or shorts and a tshirt sleepwear in cute prints and colours. Whether it be VS classic stripes, polkadot/animal print, vintage Disney movie print, florals,  it doesn’t matter as long as it’s cute. 

To accessorize, bows were a huge deal. Whether its clipped to your pony, worn on your handbag or simply just there for decorating, oversized bows were one of the first trends Ariana Grande brought to the internet. The accessory portion of Rosy Blog Chic seemed to take a more classic, timeless and girly route that can often be seen in modern Coquette fashion today-- meaning ribbons, pearls, and lace to up the girly factor by 10. 

Try your hand at home made manicures if you are currently giving your nails a rest from Acrylics or gels! Essie nail polish was at its peak during this era, as everyone seemed to be rocking natural length pale pink nails! I love long nails, and they were still super popular-- this is just for those who want to give their nails a rest.

rafe is so naturally dominant. he doesn't realize it, but he's always manhandling or guiding you in some way shape, or form. it's simply instinctive.

he's very observant. he knows all the products you use and restocks them when you finish them with you asking. sometimes he'll even look up the ingredients in them to make sure your not using anything harmful. "can you stop using that glow recipe shit? shit's awful for your skin i looked it up" as he's adding the entire dermalogica line into his sephora cart and checking out, making sure it's on your account so you don't nag him about not getting the points.

his hands are like magnets, forces that are constantly glued to your body. his calloused palms resting on your hips as you walk through parties, guiding you and making sure that your not walking into people. his hands roam through your entire body, cupping your tits, grabbing your ass, pressed against your neck no matter where you are. he has no shame, everyone knows your his girl.

he's very particular about what you wear, even going as far to set out clothes for you before you go out because he knows how long you take to find an outfit. he likes pastel colors but hates neons, especially green. he loves mini dresses especially the ones that push up your tits and flow around your ass, but nothing too revealing.

he's a natural protector. always scoping out the people around you, death starring the creepy old men who attempt to check you out, as you mindlessly cling to his bicep. he knows how clueless you can be, and makes it his sole purpose to protect you.

It's easy to press a kiss to each other's lips and then fall into another. Well, he makes it easy. There's always this look in his eyes, a gleam and an ever so slight squint, as if asking - or perhaps daring - you to give one more. It's like he's leaning in even though he isn't.

He always lifts a hand to cup your jaw, thumb brushing against the corner of your lips just before his meets your own. His lips part when he pulls away and then he comes in again after a short breath.

It's gentle, each one only getting a bit more longer. His lips mould against yours like a firm embrace, encapturing you with a tenderness only he seems to have.

He isn't one to let his hands grasp you - at least at first - rather, he trails them down slowly.

Sliding his hand away from your jaw to run the backs of his fingers along your neck, turning them to just barely wrap them around the side of it. His palm presses against the crook of your neck, slipping to the curve of your shoulder as he parts from your lips with a quiet breath.

Peeking at him with lidded eyes, you can feel the tips of his fingers press into the side of your bicep.

Affection from him is always rare with how he opts to remain withdrawn despite any yearnings. Perhaps something about it was admirable. It does take much strength to ignore one's wants and needs after all. Though, every once in a while, he indulges in his feelings beyond just existing with you.

A private place with just him and you, likely his apartment or your own, he'll reach for you. Eyes that usually avoid you meeting your own.

The backs of his fingers brush across your cheek, trailing until he can curl the tips around your ear.
