Sadie by Courtney Summers.
A little commentary on this book cause i felt too much when i finished it.
Picked up this book randomly with no prior knowledge on what it's about, it just called to me i guess.
I just finished it about 20 minutes ago and my God i feel so stumped and overwhelmed, my heart feels heavy after reaching the end of that amazing and chilling story.
I admire Sadie for her love for her sister, her strength, her determination on bringing justice to her baby sister, and i also cant help but feel so utterly sad and devastated for her and what she had to live and go through.
It's that kind of book that when you finish, you just have to sit by yourself in silence and think about the whole story and the ending and just.. its just so raw and real and i felt for Sadie.
The story shows that people are never exactly what they seem or what they pretend to be in front of the people around them. Monsters live amongst us and hide in plain sight but we're too blinded by the façades they put up for us to recognize them.
"Anybody who listens to me, I end up loving them just a little."
Sadie, Courtney Summers.

But love is complicated, it’s messy. It can inspire selflessness, selfishness, our greatest accomplishments and our hardest mistakes. It brings us together and it can just as easily drive us apart.

RELATION. after the disappearance of a girl rocked our small-town community, nobody trusts anyone anymore. We got paired up together after joining a search party but little do we know that a serial killer is on the loose - or if we can even trust each other.
✧・゚ 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐑.
❛❛What?❜❜ He didn’t stop in his tracks as he broke the uncomfortable silence. If it weren’t for the dead twigs and dry leaves crunching under their feet as they roamed through the trees in their ugly-ass orange safety vests. The situation was tense as it was. They didn’t know what they were looking for -- scared to find nothing at all but even more scared if they would. A PARADOX PAR EXCELLENCE. Rachel knew that nobody wanted him here, but he thought making an effort could change things. Call it being obstinate, with a unhealthy amount of masochism in a stupid attempt to make up for his family. Prove that not all of them were what they expected them to be.
But what could he say? They got teamed up in pairs of two and even after nearly 2 hours out here, his partner still didn’t seem very comfortable alone with him. It wasn’t until Rachel felt their eyes on him over and over again before it unnerved him so much that he couldn’t keep quiet anymore. ❛❛If it were me, I wouldn’t be so stupid to go for the next one while doing this. You can unclench now.❜❜ So many people around and he got paired up with the dim-witted one. Truly trademark typical. Although he may sounded pissed, the tension in his voice didn’t only stem from offense. The fucking reality of this bullshit was that no one had a fucking clue what happened to the missing girl. But at this point the police ruled out A RUNAWAY CASE or an accident. Nope. Nobody said it out loud and it wasn’t made official yet... but even Rachel suspected that it wasn’t a matter of what but rather who happened to her. Made her disappear. It could be anyone. Even the person walking next to him. Rachel poked his stick hard into the ground, his face speaking volumes as he looked at the other.
