Sisters.
No matter how much you hate it, you are still alike in your hearts.
While looking for your mother in the rivers because she was river's daughter, you look and look for that stern but loving gaze she gave you.
You run a hand over the doll your father gave you that you denied at the time, wondering why, why, why, did you dare to dream because when you opened your eyes, those dreams of princes cut down your ever gentle father.
You both wonder what went wrong, you blame others, you blame yourself.
Where are you brothers?
I hate my sister.
Where are you father? I am sorry.
I hate my sister.
Where are you mother? I should have listened.
I am sorry my sister.
While one wolf died in the land where kings die, the other wanders around the rivers, looking for pack.
- both mood boards and this made by me.

Hi. Can I request Edmure x female Snow (Jon’s sister) where Edmure, reader, Jon etc learn her heritage and after dany’s mad queen thing is reader selected to be queen and Edmure her consort. Maybe smut too, either way more Edmure.
Edmure Tully*My Queen, My Love
Pairing: snow!f!reader x husband!edmure
A/N: I did change your request slightly since I just couldn’t think of how to write danny as the mad queen or how to get the plot going so now its edmures reaction to her heritage and danny naming her as her heir and them celebrating with some soft smut at the end so I hope you still like it!
Word count: 2705
Tumblr media
Warnings: talks of death/red wedding, praise, ‘my queen’ honorific, f!receiving oral, fingering, slight teasing, thighs, soft smut 18+

Past
When Jon left for the wall, you thought you’d never see him again. When your sisters got taken as hostages in the red keep you thought they were as good as dead. When Winterfell was taken you thought your youngest brothers were gone for good. Everyone around you began to drop like flies and if not for Edmure you would have thrown yourself from Riverrun’s walls when you got the news of Robbs brutal murder and at a wedding no less.
Your stomach churned at the memory, and you wondered what your own fate would have been if Robb had not sent you and Edmure back to Riverrun to defend it from Lannister attacks. Sometimes you wondered if he knew, if somehow Robb felt the unease in the air of the twins. When you hugged Robb goodbye for the last time you clung on, but you did not know why you did or why your direwolf star was so reluctant to leave Greywind’s side. She, like ghost, was a pale white but unlike his red eyes hers were the palest of purples, so pale you wondered if they were clear in certain lights.
You were only halfway to Riverrun when you heard the news. You tried to back, hell bent of trying to avenge Robb with a sword, a wolf, and only three men but Edmure had to hold you back. He screamed at you in the forest ‘do you want to die? What of your sisters who will they have to save them when your dead at Walder Frey’s feet? Dying won’t bring him back.'
'My father is dead. My brothers are dead. The girls are as good as dead and only the gods know where Jon is, you screamed it back, face wet with tears and your voice tearing the air. I have no one.'
'You have me and you have star and the gods be good your sisters in time, but you won’t have anything if you run without thinking.'
His words swam about your heads for the weeks you spent traveling with Edmure and the two others Robb had sent with you. Your gold ran out quickly and there were no friends for you to find. That was until you came across the man with half his face scorched off. You’d found him in a heap at the bottom of a mountain and were shocked when you noticed his shallow breaths.
You didn’t know why you felt the need to stop your travels for a week to nurse him back to health, but you did and when he was not insulting you or trying to start fights his roughness started to slip. 'Did you see a girl dressed as a boy? Brown hair, face like a pinched arse, a tiny needle of a sword. Goes by Arry.' Arya. Your sister was alive. You had hope again.
Eventually the gods turned your fate. You may have lost the two guards Robb had sent with you in skirmishes, but you were left with Sandor and Edmure and eventually the brotherhood found you. With them came travels and with travels came Jon. Finally you had Jon back. Then Sansa too and with the hope Arya was out there you dared continue.
Meanwhile you had Edmure beside you the entire time. He backed all your decisions publicly and debated you in private but never to berate. He helped you heal the wounds you couldn’t reach and didn’t eat till he made sure you had your share. He was the rock securing your tie to reality.
You remember his reaction to meeting Daenerys Targaryen, first of her name. Its not her dragons we should fear. A woman who brings the Dothraki across the sea on the hope of a promise not given to her holds power. Her words hold power.
While Sansa was sceptical of her you felt yourself drawn to her. As time went on you began to view her as more of a friend than a foreign queen. You found yourself added to her small council. Despite Tyrion being her hand, it was you she turned to in her dilemma.
Then one day Jon barged into one of your chambers, insisting it could not wait a day longer. He forced Edmure to leave the chambers despite you insisting that the man who had become your husband could hear anything he had to say. 'Ned Stark was not our father sweet sister, but he was not a stranger either.' You felt the colour drain from your face as he spoke. 'Bran, he saw it, Lyanna Stark on her birthing bed. Twins in her arms. We had a mother sweet sister and a father too. Rhaegar Targaryen.'

Present
After he broke the news, you demanded he leave, not wanting him to speak another word till you could bare to tell Daenerys yourself. Then Edmure returned. As you told him everything Jon had revealed you felt your world spinning as Edmure sat silently taking it all in.
The feel of Edmures hands grabbing yours slowed your rant, your breathing steadying. “Breathe my love. It is going to be okay,”
“But what if its not?” You asked, a break in your voice.
You looked to the man that had kept you afloat during this war with wide eyes brimmed with tears. His hand gently moved to hold your face, “You are still you, my love. This does not need to change your world unless you choose it too. Your brother will back you; he always has. I am here for you love. We are safe, we will survive this,”
“What if she thinks us a threat?” You said, voice barely above a whisper, “Rober Baratheon would’ve murdered them in their cribs if he had got there in time to swing his hammer. What will she do to me?”
“She has shown you no signs of tyranny, no signs of madness. If you lie to her, scheme against her, she will know but even if ned Stark was not your father you still have his honour,” Edmure said, leaning to kiss your forward softly, “and you have me. I may not breath fire, but I would fight any dragon for you,”
You watched as Daenerys face turned as Jon told her the truth with you by his side. “If it were true, you would be the last living male Targaryen. Are you here to threaten my claim?” She asked, her face twisting into betrayal.
“No,” you said, finally speaking up in the silence, “Jon has no interest in the iron throne, do you brother?” You said, scared when he paused for a moment before agreeing with you.
Daenerys turned away, pacing to the fire in silence, “Leave us,” she said, her head raising to face Jon, “and do not speak a word of this to anyone. Swear it,”
“I swear it your grace,” Jon said, nodding his head solemnly before leaving.
As the door shut Daenerys finally turned to look at you, “I assume Edmure knows,” she said dryly, “Who else?”
“No one your grace,” you said, crossing the room to try come to her side but she backed away, “No one needs know if you don’t want them too. But you cannot deny you need a family,”
“I have my dragons,” she said, almost spitting the words before looking into the flames, “A woman told me once they would be my only children,” she said with a softer tone.
"When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east," you whispered back, having heard her tales of her first marriage many nights.
“When the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind like leaves,” she said, her eyes not leaving the flickering flames, “I believe I will see my child when I die. The son a witch stole from me. The family I was told to dream about having as a child, gone. What is a queen with no heirs?” She said, finally looking from the flames. “If I was to name Jon my heir people would cross their fingers for the day I died. Your land has never cared much for their queens,”
You paused for a moment, thinking back to the talks you had with Edmure the night before. “There is another way your grace,” you said, moving over to sit in the armchair by the fire, Daenerys moving to the other, “The northerns have never liked to bend their knee to the south but what if you didn’t make them? Allow Jon to be king of the north, recognise Robbs kingship and his will naming Jon as his heir. No southern lord is going to fight for a bastard to sit the iron throne,”
Daenerys sat back in her chair, thinking over your words carefully, “And what of you? You would stay in the north to take the throne after him?”
You shook your head lightly, “No your grace. He may be my brother, but you are my queen. I will follow you south, fight your battles and die for you, if need be, serve however required,”
Daenerys paused, chuckling slightly under her breath, “Even as my heir?” She said, her eyes hard to read.
“Unless you have children,” you said but Daenerys just laughed and stood again.
“No. My dragons are my children. One of them is already dead. My womb has been cursed and the child bed is more dangerous than any battle ahead. Now I will not have children. But I will have an heir. An heir who will act as a delegate to the newly independent north. You,” she said, finally turning back to see you, “You shall be my heir and you shall rule when I am gone. Not your husband, not Jon. You,”
The feast announcing Daenerys decision was one of the last moments of joy for many before the long night. You sat at the head table, Daenerys on one side and Edmure on the other. He held your hand under the table, his thumb stroking over your hand. Jon sat on the other side of Daenerys; a shoddy silver crown placed on his head unlike the one Daenerys wore made of gold.
After the festivities you walked back to your chamber, slightly lightheaded from the wine but with Edmures arm wrapped around yours to steady yourself. “One day you will be a queen,” he hummed, smiling down at you, “The title suits me,”
“Hopefully not for a long time,” you said, kissing his cheek as you stumbled to your chambers, “Excited about your future promotion?” You joked with a drunken grin.
He shook his head with a chuckle, “the title is yours not mine. I will not rule for you love for you will be my queen. Though I hope you will at least allow me on your council when the time comes,” he said as you turned into the corridor your chamber lay in.
“Of course,” you said, hugging his arm tighter, “You have always been my hand. Without you I am nothing,”
“No, my love,” he said as he unlatched the chamber door, “You are everything and more,” he said, kissing your lips softly in the chamber doorway. “Give me a moment to light the fire,”
As Edmure stoked the flames you began to slip out of your northern clothes, leaving them in a pile at the side of the bed and leaving only your shift on for coverage. You sat on the foot of the bed, watching as Edmure finally had the fire burning bright before he took his own outdoor clothing off.
“You look divine my love,” he said as he sat his neatly folded tunic on the armchair by the fire.  You held your hand out to him across the room, silently beckoning him over. Edmure did as you asked wordlessly, gently taking your hand and moving to stand between your legs. He bent down, pressing a slow soft kiss to your lips. Your hands rested on his shoulders, his cupping your jaw lightly before he stood up straight again, “It is time for rest my love,” he said, moving back to kick off his boots.
You shook your softly at him, a smile toying your lips, “We are celebrating tonight remember?” You said, standing so you could wrap your arms around his waist to pull him closer. His body, left with only his trousers, pressed flush against yours leaving no gaps between your skin. “Wont you celebrate with me, husband?” You asked, a teasing smile on your lips.
“I suppose some celebrating could be in order,” Edmure said with a light chuckle. He lifted your chin with his fingers, his head dipping to reconnect your lips. Your arms wrapped around his shoulders in an attempt to pull him closer somehow. You were breathless as Edmure walked you back till the backs of your thighs hit the bed frame. “Lay down my queen,” he said, panting as he pulled away from your lips.
“I am not queen yet,” you said, the wine making the idea more funny than terrifying. None the less you moved to lay on the bed, letting your shift bunch up to reveal more of your thighs.
Edmures eyes scanned your thighs, soaking in your frame. You couldn’t help but notice the outline in his trousers by this point but you did not protest as he began to crawl up the bed to you, kissing your calf then knee and up to your thighs, “Let me serve you my queen,” he said as he placed a kiss to your inner thigh, “You have always been my queen,”
Your breathing was ragged as you felt him kiss up your inner thighs, his breath fanning over your skin making it tingle. Your fingers ran over his hair, toying with it softly, “Serve me husband,” you said, aching for his mouth which was less than an inch from where you wanted it to be, “Serve your queen,” you inhaled sharply when you felt him place a soft kiss to your wet cunt, his lips moving up to place another wet kiss to your clit. Your fingers tugged his hair gently as he began to lick soft stripes up your cunt, his pressure increasing with each lick to tease the feeling. While you were usually the one doing the teasing Edmure wanted to make sure this was truly a celebration for you tonight as his tongue worked its wonders while his hands softly squeezed your thighs.
His mouth moved up, his focus turning to gently sucking your clit as curse words slipped from under your breath. His hand slipped from your thigh, slowly grazing over your skin till his fingers began to tease your hole. You moaned lightly when you felt his fingers slowly slipping in as he had practised many times with you over the years. You could feel your thighs tighten around his head and how he moaned sending vibrations through your wet cunt.
You could feel your body tightening, a knot forming in your stomach as Edmure began to hit your sweet spot, his fingers curling gently to hit closer with each move. “Yes,” you gasped, your fingers suddenly tightening in his hair, “Like that,” you said, your voice caught as your body tightened.
Edmure did exactly as he was told as he felt your thighs begin to twitch. Your body felt close to bursting till your orgasm spilled over you, your legs clamping around his head as your body tensed up, toes curling. Edmure did not attempt to remove his tongue or mouth as he let you ride out your wave, only moving when he felt your legs begin to release his head.
He came up for air, his face slick and an adoring smile on his face, “You truly are amazing,” he murmured, kissing your thigh before moving up to lay beside you.
You turned, trying to reach for his trousers to return the favour but Edmure caught your wrist, raising your hand up to his lips to kiss, “Not yet love. Catch your breath my queen,”
You laughed lightly at his words, “Are you always going to call me that?” You asked.
“Yes, for it will always be true,”

i don't know what crack these bitches are smoking. assholes like that d*sneyprincessbuffyannesumemrs always used to butt onto dany stans posts and show her illiterate ass, that joke of a sideblog t*llystan reblogged posts from arya stans and picked fights with everyone till the bitch went back to her main w her fucking tail bw her legs; hacks like that j*nstarks make anti dany gifsests and post them under the daenerys targaryen tag pissing off even non dany stans w her behaviour, all of them have multiple slavery apologist and victim blaming posts, other ones like that dumbass deadlilly posted under the arya tag and when people replied to him he admitted he did it to rile people up. one of these assholes keeps copying posts from our side and pasting it onto the jonsas' and cultists' askboxes so they have a chance to act all appalled and talk about something whenever their CaNoN jONsA ENDGaMe sHiP evidence starts weakening. FOR YEARS the bitches have stolen arts and quotes and reworked their metas to say "oh no its actually Nonsa foreshadowing" and now they are acting as if ppl were talking about stealing metas from dany/arya stans 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡 and after making threats and insulting ppl on multiple posts like that s*yrugg clown keeps doing they acts like victims and poor little meow meows We DiD Not dO AnYThiNg WE StAy In OuR cORnER Of thE FaNdOm we just wannabeleft aloneeeee
What I appreciate about our side of the fandom is that despite Jonsas (and certain other big bloggers) acting this way many times, we have never had a need to repeatedly attack people or tag them to start arguments based on lies. I remember when GoT ended and Jonsas used to tag Dany stans in posts with her death scene and needle them and mock them for not listening to their "predictions". What's funny about their predictions is that the main reason they came up with those hateful theories i.e. the Jonsa ship was never canon, and was refuted by the cast and showrunners point blank. These people forget, that with every new development on the show, they had to rework their theories to fit their endgame (which did not come true anyway lmao Jon didn't fuck Sansa like they wanted and these shippers .... flew off the handle and started harrassing BNFs on other platforms with their "Jonsa evidence"). For years, Sansa stans have hated Arya to the point they created "neutral intellectual blogs dedicated to metas" with every. other. post. being anti Arya or taking themes from her storyline and claiming them for both Stark sisters. These blogs used to support all sorts of characters like Jorah and Viserys to shit on Dany and call her an immature little teenage girl. Jonsas took these pointers and ran with them, worsening the takes and with them, the fandom. When the show started going downhill and Arya started licking at the flavorless caricature's feet Sansa/Jonsa stans suddenly started being all Stark Sister UwU and making art about both girls being supportive of each other, forgetting, that they made up theories where Arya would die and warg into Nymeria and Sansa would get her sister's direwolf which would serve as her bodyguard while she sang and harped her way to a position of power. In short, they are liars and will never admit to it, and such toxicity will only attract more idiots to the fandom. We can't do anything about it, because apparently even defending characters is harrassment and triggers these people.

What did you think of Cersei's ending on the show? I actually kind of liked it, after years of people wanting Cersei to die in the most dehumanizing ways and for Jaime to end as a saviour figure it gave me a lot of satisfaction even if it was corny...
Cersei's ending was totally disappointing. Especially since D&D wrote her as the main antagonist of the series, even more than the White Walkers who they kicked out in one episode at the start.
Look at the endings that the female characters who fought against Cersei got:
Catelyn Stark - gets betrayed and has her throat slit by enemies
Daenerys Targaryen - betrayed and murdered by her lover
Septa Unella - tortured, raped and killed by the Mountain
Ellaria Sand and her daughter - paraded around KL. Poisons Tyene Sand and makes Ellaria watch her daughter die.
And what was Cersei's - the main villain in the series, who blew up the Sept killing several hundreds, has murdered babies in the books, killed Missandei, never helped the good guys defeat the white walkers etc. etc - ending? Oh, she got killed by some falling rocks, and died in her lover's arms knowing she was loved till the end.
Where's the catharsis?
Think about this for a second. Daenerys who halted her campaign to free slaves and build up the free cities for them, who halted her campaign a second time and went North to defend them from the White Walkers - she got betrayed and murdered by her lover. Meanwhile Cersei gets to die in the arms of the man she loves, killed by some rocks. Cersei did not care that Dany burned down KL - she probably wanted that to happen. She got a happier ending than all her victims.
Do you think that's good writing?
Her ending does fit in with the rest of the disappointing endings of all the other characters and just the whole trashy final season though. Her ending goes with Benioff and Weiss' overall theme that no good deed goes unpunished and the good guys end up failing and dying and the bad guys end up winning.
Cersei 2.0 is ruling the North, evil Bran who knew what Dany was going to do and yet did nothing becomes king, Tyrion who sabotaged Dany's campaign becomes Hand, while reformers like Dany and Jon get murdered and exiled. Cersei's ending was just one in a long list of shitty, nihilistic endings.
Did I want Cersei getting murdered by Jaime? No. I wanted to see her get actual justice for everything the character has done. The valonqar prophecy does not exist on the show, it's not necessary. I would have liked to see Dany vs Cersei and Dany having Cersei executed for her crimes. Lena Heady certainly imbues more humanity and nuance to show Cerseic compared to the book version. I would have loved for Cersei to get a trial like Tyrion did - see Lena Heady and Emilia Clarke face off against each other.
I loathe show Sansa with the fire of a thousand suns and yet I would have even be okay with Sansa taking down Cersei and having her executed than whatever nonsense the show had her doing against Dany. Sansa Vs Cersei actually makes sense for the show, Sansa Vs Dany doesn't.
Arya went all the way to KL, even Arya Vs Cersei would have been fine.
Anything, anything....other than rocks falls and everyone dies.
It's clear that Benioff and Weiss loved Cersei and that was the end result, even going so far as to have Tyrion trying to convince the audience that Cersei was a better person than Dany because she was pregnant and about to become a mother.
So yeah, a disappointing stinking pile of shite trash ending. I am going to go watch the Expanse finale again to remove the memories of the GOT finale from my mind. Please nonnie don't ask me about the show again 😂 🙏🏽

THEON WHO WENT OUT A FUCKING HERO.
and you’re saying nobody important died?

AFFC - Jaime III
aka Bear Pit Pt 2: That Time Jaime Takes a Long Ride that Proves his Compassionate Nature and That He Will Defend Brienne Even If She Is Not Around or in Immediate Danger
Thoughts on Jaime / Brienne:
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
“His hand shone dully in its light. No good for throttling eunuchs, but heavy enough to smash that slimy smile into a fine red ruin. He wanted to hit someone.”
→ HA! “a fine red ruin”. Get it, huh, huh? Because Red gets ruined? HA!
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
1/3 time Jaime actively mentions Brienne in his thoughts:
“Payne was as rusty as his ringmail, and not so strong as Brienne, yet he met every cut with his own blade, or interposed his shield.”
→ We do mention a lot how Brienne constantly says ‘he ain’t Jaime tho’ but Jaime is just the same: ‘Payne ain’t Brienne but he’ll do’
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
2/3 time Jaime actively mentions Brienne in his thoughts:
“Jaime found himself wondering if Brienne might have passed this way before him. If she thought that Sansa Stark had made for Riverrun . . . Had they encountered other travelers, he might have stopped to ask if any of them had chance to see a pretty maid with auburn hair, or a big ugly one with a face that would curdle milk.”
→ I’m a sucker for Jaime having Brienne’s same train of thought and thinking about her journey constantly. As others have pointed out, he is startled by his wondering and has to remind himself how ugly she is, right? The fact he wants to ask about Sansa (his vow) is nice, but the fact he also wants to ask about Brienne (his special interest), is very nice.
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
3/3 time Jaime actively mentions Brienne in his thoughts:
“He passed beneath the covered bridge… before he realized where he was headed.”
→ Don’t fucking @ me. The bear pit is a direct, unquestionable straight line to Brienne and as soon as he gets a chance he, unbidden, goes to her memory.
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
So Bear Pit Pt 2:
““Naked? No.” He wondered how that wrinkle had been added to the story.”
→ Kingslayer’s whore?
“The Mummers put her in a pink silk gown and shoved a tourney sword into her hand. The Goat wanted her death to be amuthing. Elsewise . . .”
“. . . the sight of Brienne naked might have made the bear flee in terror.” Connington laughed. Jaime did not. “You speak as if you know the lady.”
→ a couple of things:
what I LOVE about this moment is that Jaime is here genuinely trying to make some conversation and casually doing disrespectful impressions of the man who almost kills them and he’s actually concerned with explaining the truth and HE IS DISREGARDED by Connignton because Connington is an ass and THEN Connington disrespects his wench and it just.fucking.activates.him.
Jaime remembers the dress clear enough to describe it in material and color (this man is definitely not my father)
what was after that ‘elsewise’? ‘Elsewise, she would’ve killed it? She would’ve won? I would not have needed to jump in?’ Jaime respects (and admires!) Brienne SO FUCKING MUCH I wanna believe he was going to sing his praises here.
“That took him by surprise. Brienne had never mentioned a betrothal.”
→ He's SO OFFENDED lmao Heaven knows how much shit he talked during their walk across the Riverlands and he is like, Brienne surely would’ve mentioned something of SUCH importance but he also senses that if she DIDN’T it was because of REASONS and gosh does he make Ronnet spill the beans.
““I was the second. My father’s notion. I had heard the wench was ugly, and I told him so, but he said all women were the same once you blew the candle out.”
“Your father.” Jaime eyed Red Ronnet’s surcoat.”
→ Jaime taking notice of who Connington dad is because HE’S GONNA CUT A BITCH
→ (and also because he is trying to unravel why they would betroth Brienne to this idiot and he discovers it’s because they are poor and were going to use her to elevate his status and you can just feel his disdain, I fucking love it)
““The bear was less hairy than that freak, I’ll—”
Jaime’s golden hand cracked him across the mouth so hard the other knight went stumbling down the steps.”
→ the first time I read this I fucking TRANSCENDED because I wanted to smack each of Brienne’s wrongdoers myself. Jaime stood his ground as much as he could but the moment he insults Brienne with “freak” (and insults her bush, which we know he was gladly impressed by) he just fucking reacts. And my favorite bit is…
“You are speaking of a highborn lady, ser. Call her by her name. Call her Brienne.”
→ FIRST, Jaime hasn’t referred to Brienne internally as “wench” or anything else but Brienne in a fucking long time.
→ SECOND, this shows just how much he respects her as a woman, as a mf lady, and how much he’ll demand others will treat her as such.
→ And THIRD, it shows how much he respects her, PERIOD. We love a man who loves and respects his beloved.
Thoughts on Jaime:
Clearly even though Loras is young Jaime thinks he is worth his salt. And it’s not until Cersei brings up his gayness that Jaime doesn’t really anger. Even Cersei points out that Jaime’s “perception” of manhood has changed but I think it has to do more about Jaime respecting Loras and him self-actualizing his identity.
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
More on Cersei:
“Cersei slapped his face. / Jaime made no attempt to block the blow. “I see I need a thicker beard, to cushion me against my queen’s caresses.” He wanted to rip her gown off and turn her blows to kisses.”
→ this looks terribly like conditioned behaviour because Jaime previously mentions he has to “beg” for her “affections” and that means “coaxing” her into changing that. Same thing happens when they are discussing the unmentionable knife and he sits her on his lap to stop her from being angry. which actually leads me to…
“Softer words might have swayed her, yet of late the very sight of her made him angry”
→ He balked her on purpose, though he seems to miss her somehow still (he’s horny, too) he gets angry at her and doesn’t let that impulse govern him at all. But he does allow himself to anger her because he doesn’t want to have to treat her kindly. It’s almost like he’s realizing how hateful she actually is.
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
FUCKING KILL ME BRUH
“It had been long years since Jaime had named any of his horses; he had seen too many die in battle, and that was harder when you named them.”
→ Jaime: traumatized horse girl. Poor man.
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
Symbolism?
“Glory wore trappings of Lannister crimson; Honor was barded in Kingsguard white”
→ I’m sure this is symbolism but heck if I can put it into words. Like, it seems clear (?) they represent two sides of Jaime, the need to uphold the Lannister name (glory) and the dedicated vows of his knighthood (honor) but… that’s as far as I get.
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
Paralelism:
Jaime’s “price” for going to the Riverlands is Ilyn Payne (a counterpart to Brienne’s Pod) and Ser Addam (a person from his past, like Brienne’s Hyle). I like their parallelism. Like, they’re accompanied by someone who reminds them who they were and what they have/are becoming while on a quest caused by their vows.
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
Jaime is not stupid:
“Robb Stark took me unawares in the Whispering Wood,” he said. “That will never happen again.”
→ besides this man turns trauma into learning points.
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
Jaime cares about others:
“Jaime had given stern commands that no man was to depart the column without his leave.” → He protects the land as they go, he scoffs at the “bored lordings” who could trample and attack the stock and farms along the way.
Little Lew Piper brings blackberries, Jaime orders him to share them with the other squires and fucking Ilyn Payne.
Feeling sorry for the horse and bear.
Pia!
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
More Paralelism:
I love this bit that calls back to Jaime’s first chapter ever:
“Riding at the front of the host with Ser Ilyn silent by his side, Jaime felt almost content. The sun was warm on his back and the wind riffled through his hair like a woman’s fingers.”
→ It’s like a more toned down “alive and drunk on sunlight.”. Instead of feeling alive, he feels almost content. Instead of drunk, warm. Instead of Cersei's fingers, a woman's. And it’s about being free from a former entrapment behind enemy lines.
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
Goldenhand
“Men shall name you Goldenhand from this day forth, my lord,” the armorer had assured him the first time he’d fitted it onto Jaime’s wrist. He was wrong. I shall be the Kingslayer till I die.”
→ I swear to God if they give him the nickname AFTER he dies I’m going to fucking scream (fingers crossed he won’t die)
“The golden hand was the occasion for much admiring comment over supper, at least until Jaime knocked over a goblet of wine. Then his temper got the best of him… After that there was no more talk about his hand.”
→ These fucking people omgggg fucking bootlickers. Besides he lets the common folk/his men see him as he is but has to pretend for "polite" company. I like that the hand is almost a second thought like, Well I suppose I ought to wear the hand to dinner.
→ He also says they’ll call him ‘Goldenhand the Just’ eventually because he is willing to impart justice even to the men who served his own house (he hangs a man in Lannister red for being a bandit), and if that doesn’t show AGAIN he is willing to do the right thing if necessary… well.
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
Jaime’s shames:
“They have lusty wenches in House Hayford. These are love bites, lad.”
→ Jaime Lannister, famously monogamous, thinks a fake hickey excuse is less shameful than his shortcomings. But also he needs to appear commanding.
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
Jaime, Horsegirl (contin’d):
““These are demons in the skins of wolves, sent to chastise us for our sins.”
“This must have been an uncommonly sinful horse,” Jaime said, standing over what remained of the poor animal.”
→ this line is not just funny but shows just how much Jaime has an affinity to the innocent.
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
About Hoat:
since the description of how he died (tortured, cut up in pieces, fed his own flesh, then defiled in death) happens right before the goddamn Bear Pit Pt 2 I had completely forgotten about it. Jaime hears the tale, sees the head, and hi satisfaction at his death seems to curdle. I just like that of course, we know Jaime is not cruel. And that even though Brienne told him to “live and take revenge,” he is NOT finding pleasure in a death he might have gloated on if he were different.
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
About Pia:
“She is a font of corruption,” said Ser Bonifer…
“I expect her flaunting days are done,” he said, “but if you find her that objectionable, I’ll take her.” He could make her a washerwoman, he supposed. His squires did not mind raising his tent, grooming his horse, or cleaning his armor, but the task of caring for his clothes struck them as unmanly
→ So first, this is one of the reasons I like Jaime. He is actually very very compassionate, and actually defends Pia. Second, does this seem to suggest he would’ve personally taken care of his clothes if he had two hands? Or just that this seems like an excuse to bring her in? Also, I love how the squires will do the cleaning but draw the line at washing clothes.
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
Jaime internally calling Ser Bonifer “Baelor Butthole” is infinitely amuthing to me.

Thoughts on 8x03. I need to vent.
WARNING: this contains dark! Dany, crumbs of Jonsa i guess, anti sanarion, anti jonerys, anti daenerys, anti tyrion, anti d&d, basically anti everything, and lots and lots and lots of complaining. LOTS. And bitching. I hated 8x03. If you liked it, I suggest you keep scrolling. Please keep scrolling. I don't want any heat, dont want to offend anybody, I just so BADLY need to vent.
Also, i post in the Jonsa tag, because that's my main fandom and where i feel safe.
ALSO SPOILERS!
This episode was an epitome of disappointment. I can't even. All this bragging how it was going to beat BotB and Hardhome, even freakin HELMS DEEP (the audacity) and ZERO payoff. I'll try to be as brief as possible(I probably won't be).
1. Whover was the mastermid behind this battleplan should hang. What the actual fuck. What the f*ck was the deal with stationing all The Unsullied and Dothraki OUTSIDE?! I mean i get it - there's limited space at Winterfell, and those are huge armies. But later, when it all goes to hell with the Dothraki and so on, and Dadvos screams "man the walls!" there are so few people actually inside, that could man the walls! I mean, the defenders should form a freaking wall themselves, to push down as many wights as possible! And they weren't even in position, on the battlements!
2. The charge was fucking idiotic. I really don't get it - was it a rash decision of the Dothraki, inspired by Mel lighting their arakhs, that they were like "yeah, why not, let's roll", without any order? Or was it an ACTUAL plan for them to charge the AotD, without anybody knowing Mel would show up and do what she did, with regular weapons, not even Valyrian steel or dragon glass?! I mean, did they WANT to give the NK more meat for his army? THE STUPIDITY
3. What was the deal with Arya during the battle? All of the sudden she's inside the castle, terrified, walks into the library and hides from one(!) wight - seeing as in the beginning she wasn't aware there were more. The whole library scene was exhausting to watch, and not because of the suspence, but again, because of the stupidity of it. It felt out of nowhere and pointless. And damn, I remember all of the speculation when the trailer came out- why is Arya so terrified, what is she running from? Is it Rickon or whatnot? Nope. No surprises here. Just regular whights, just like the ones she was going all assasin-mode on a minute ago.
3. Jon, Daenerice and their lizards. I mean, could they have been any more useless?! Dani burns some wights in the beginning and thats it. The most frustrating part was, that they haven't even once used the goddamn dragons to fry Viserion. Not once! There was some hands-on dragon combat but that was it. At various moments I wanted the NK to win, seriously. When they flew above the clouds and Viserion disappeared, i half expected the nephew and his aunt to sing "A whole new world" together and fly away. Wouldn't have made a difference.
4. I will give them one thing, the part with Dany falling off of Drogon and him abandoning her was satisfying. Shame that Jorah ex Machina was soo predicrable (glad it wasn't Jon though). Also, I will say, that Jorahs death was the one scene I actually liked, it brought me back to season 1 and I felt for Daenerys for a moment.
5. The crypts. I mean, the way Tyrion has been made by the show to be the Most Moral Man in the Universe, with his magical, genius mind has become unbearable. I wanted to smack him, seriously. Of course YOU should be out there Tyrion, YOU might notice something others won't. Sansa put him in his place, but I would prefer it if she remaind cold towards him, like in the first episode, just beacuse the amount of sanarion being pushed down our throats was making me gag. Saying they would never have worked because of Dani? Sansa love, you dont have to be polite. It would never have worked because Sansa did not love him, wasn't attracted to him, was forced to marry him as a child, because he's a father-killing, whore-mongering alcoholic. I was SO scared they would actually kiss in that scene when they were hiding. I was about to puke. Seriously, Sophie has an amazing chemistry with nearly everyone and clearly it was visible in this scene, but for the love of God I could not bear it.
6. Missandei and her "if it werent for the Dragon Queen we'd all be dead". I need someone to step up ASAP and make it clear that if it werent for Dani and her dumbass advisors the NK WOULDNT HAVE A F*CKING DRAGON!!! And the Wall still would be standing! Why don't these things matter? Like at all?? Why?! D&D just dont give a fuck.
7. Bran. The Three-Eyed Raven. All those seasons, the impossible journey, the sacrifice of Hodor, Jojen, Meera, Summer, all the 8-year build up for the AotD to end like... this. No resolution, no answers, no explanation. And Bran does nothing. It was so underwhelming. Every single fanfic I've read was better than this. He just warged into some ravens and went for a flight. Coolcoolcool.
8. The final scene, with the music and everything was, much like the rest of the episode, exhausting. The pacing was all over the place, either too slow or too fast. It sure was nice of the NK to give Theon and Bran some extra time so they could look at each other meaningfully, with Bran taking his sweet time to assure Theon that his character arc has been completed and he's most welcome to die for him now. The NK was actually a big softie on the inside, truly. Applies also for the never-ending look he exchanged with Bran before actually trying to kill him.
Till the last moment I was hoping that Bran would pull something out. That he couldn't have been THIS useless. Anything, I would have even taken time travel, anything. But GoT has stopped shocking and surprising a looong time ago, and we got Arya instead. I guess she's so awesome now, kinda like a supernatural being, that the only sign of her coming is a light breeze moving one's hair. I don't quite get when did she actually learn to fly/jump so high, maybe at some point in Braavos, between washing dead bodies and fighting with sticks? (okay, here's a rabbit hole to avoid - Aryas plot since sason 6, when suddenly she becomes a worrior able to best Brienne in combat). I would really like Arya killing the NK, if it was done and executed better, with a decent build-up and all of that. Not like this. It was so fucking easy it hurt.
9. Jon was useless. Useless I tell you. Dani being useless was sorta satisfying, as I'm anti dany, but Jon has been obsessed with the AotD and the NK for too many seasons now. I guess I should be thankful that at no point the line "i thought i lost you" has been uttered.
10. When the episode ended, me and my sister were like, "damn, dani has actually lost all her armies. game over for her." I mean she lost all of the Dothraki, almost all of the Unsullied? But God, did we underestimate Dumb&Dumber's dumbness! OF COURSE in the promo Dani still has an army and is ready to go to war with Cersei. OF COURSE. Fuck logic, fuck the facts, fuck the plot. Things havent been making any sense for a while now, so why bother at the end?
11. One more thing about Ghost - i love this boy with all my heart, and that's why it pisses me off so much that after SEASONS of neglecting him and favouring the lizards, the writers bring him back for some meaningless cameos, without Jon interacting with him ONCE. The discrespect! Seriously, at this point Ghost should just switch owners. Jon better stay with his pet reptalian.
Sidenote: I won't even go into no Jonsa goodbye scene. No goodbye-scene for Jon with any of the Starks. Coolcoolcool.
There is more, I'm sure, but I cant remember and I'm too tired. I dont even know what I expected. Maybe because the 2 first episodes were decent I was hoping for something remotely good. But D&D reminded me that no one can dissapoint like they can.

My Thoughts on GoT 8.01 (“Winterfell”)
So, this is late, but I watched S8, E1 (”Winterfell”) with my Dad and Brother and had some thoughts (these thoughts are from my first time viewing it, but I was too insecure to post them until a magnificent mutual of mine suggested it).
Spoilers, but the warning might be irrelevant by now. Featuring running commentary from my family because they’re amazing.
So, maybe I’m alone, but I’m not that fond of the new opening. Sorry, it just looks cheaper to me than the old one somehow, even though I read somewhere that more money was spent on it
That child climbing a tree gave my entire family and I some serious Bran/Arya nostalgia, as did that Baratheon theme
Arya’s little smile when she saw Jon half filled me with joy, and also half broke my heart. So much has happened since they last saw eachother. So fricking much
Arya looking at the Hound in a parallel to S1, E1 has been found
Non-verbal Gendrya is life
Oh, yay, an obligatory manhood joke to start off the season. Ugh. You know, I’m really tired of them at this point.
So......... can somebody remind me why Tyrion is even here anymore? And how he became the least interesting remaining Lannister by far?
Missandei and Grey Worm’s little “wow, they hate us” look is honestly the best thing. To quote my Brother: “Finally, two people that can take a hint”
Dany is upset at people not kissing her boots - shocker. Look, sweetie, it’s been a rough couple of years for the Northerners. Not to mention the last time they had a Targ in power he burned their liege lord and had his heir strangled. And that Targ was your father. So no duh they’re skeptical
Yeeeeeeaaaaah... I don’t think giving a good portion of the people you’ve supposedly come to “save” heart attacks with your WMD children is the best way to establish you’re a “great” ruler
SHE SMIRKED THAT LITTLE --!!!
(And the camera lingered on said smirk, hmmm, wonder why...)
Just a little over ten minutes into the episode and I’ve already reached new levels of Dany hatred
Entrance to the Winterfell courtyard parallel to S1, E1 spotted
Jon riding in and seeing Bran is making me cry. Like, the last time he was riding towards a family member was with Rickon, the only “sibling” (aside from Sansa) he thought he had left - only for Rickon to die moments before he reached him. And here’s Bran, his “brother” who he thought was dead up until recently, sitting there alive and (mostly) well, and I just... *sobs uncontrollably*
Compare and contrast how happy Jon is to see Bran vs. how “who cares?” he was when finding out he was alive in S7 and tell me that political!Jon isn’t real. Tell me
... I thought we were supposed to get non-robo-Bran this season, but, so far, I don’t see it
My Dad is honestly cheering because Bran’s looking at Dany all creepily. He’s just thrilled someone’s giving her some variation of the stink-eye
That Jon and Sansa hug is not the same one that was released, and I’m a little disappointed. Let Jon give bear hugs to his entire family 2k19
Sansa/Ned parallels from S1, E1 and I’m loving it
Dany is literally the embodiment of all her stans who thought she and Sansa would be besties and braid eachother’s hair. Sansa is the rest of us who knew better
Bran cutting straight to the point adds years to my life
Sansa running things is my aesthetic
Dany seriously didn’t sit down till Ned Umber called her “my queen” and I’m rolling my eyes. So what if I’m too critical? I’m bitter
I love Jon getting called out if political!Jon isn’t real, but I’m honestly tired of Lyanna Mormont at this point. Sorry, unpopular opinion
......................... is it just me, or has Tyrion become a lot less smart in recent seasons?
Wait until they find out who burnt the loot train * snicker snicker*
Sansa asks practical questions. Dany replies with an answer that basically gives the green light for eating innocent civilians. But, sure, Sansa’s a jerk
My Dad doesn’t even like Sansa and he’s scoffing that Dany couldn’t hold a candle to her when it comes to ruling
Yep, Tyrion’s become a lot less smart. I was right
Bran being creepy is actually great when it’s directed towards Dany and her team
Awwwwwww... Jon and Arya. Don’t screw this up for me, please...
Parellel to Ned/Catelyn in the Godswood in S1, E1, I believe
Seriously, Jon is ecstatic to see his little “sister”. Don’t tell me he would’ve reacted with nonchalance to the news of her being alive if political!Jon isn’t true. Don’t even dare
Am I the only one who’s a little heartbroken that Jon is actually surprised that Arya still had Needle?
So....... I think that “Sansa thinks she’s smarter then everyone” comment was supposed to be an awkward joke. So therefore, I’m not going to get angry
STARK SISTERS AS A UNITED FRONT! YES!!! NED, YOU WOULD BE SO PROUD!!!
Yeah, Jon, don’t forget. I believe in you
I imagine everyone’s probably going to be really angry with Jon, but I kind of feel badly for him. He seems so insecure about everything in this episode. If the parentage reveal happens here, too, I’m a little worried how he’ll take it
My Brother pointed out that Jon’s homecoming in this episode kind of mirrors Jaime’s in S4 and I’m honestly living for it
I missed Cersei. I really did
I missed Yara, I really did
I didn’t miss Euron, not a bit
Wow, the Red Keep feels so lonely and I think that’s the vibe the showrunners were going for. Kudos if it was
Cersei seriously has some of the best lines and Lena Headey is brilliant in her delivery
Euron... yeah. Dude needs help
Oh, so that’s what happened to Ed Sheeran and co. Time to get started on my “I See Fire” tribute
Little parallel to Tyrion in the brothel with Bronn from S1, E1
“Which girl?” Poor Bronn in a world without modern medicine
Um, excuse me, but if you even think of using that crossbow I’ll make sure that Ser Bronn of the Blackwater becomes black and blue
Someone get Cersei her elephants
Okay, so what’s up with the pregnancy? Was it a hoax, or something else...?
THEON!!! Finally stepping up! Finally!
So... anyone else thinking that Yara believes Dany sent Theon to rescue her and that’s why she’s still loyal to this dragon brat?
Tyrion is on and I’m ignoring him.
Davos nooooooooooooo. No marriages!!!
I see you, Varys. I see you showrunners. Nothing lasts, indeed... *laughs evilly*
Aw, what happened to Dany and Sansa braiding eachother’s hair again?
I’m angry at Jon for not defending Sansa. Really. But how much could he actually have done without spelling potential doom for the North? Littlefinger didn’t have dragons. Dany does.
OKAY, NO. THAT WAS A THREAT. A FRICKIN’ THREAT. AND MY FAMILY AND I ARE NOT OKAY WITH IT!!!!!!!!!
........... the dragons are barely eating? Barely? And just how many Northerners could those 29 goats and sheep have fed?
“Um, Dany, giving Jon a dragon might be the dumbest thing you’ve done yet” - My Wonderful Dad
“And that’s saying something” - My Wonderful Brother
Wow, Dany doesn’t give two cents about Jon’s consent. Shocking
Wow, Dany doesn’t give two cents about Rhaegal’s consent. Actually shocking
So... if no one knows how to ride a dragon until they do and you’ve already ridden one so therefore know, give the guy some pointers
Haha you might die. Isn’t that adorable?! *sarcasm sarcasm*
POINTLESS SCENE ENSUES
That boy kept his eyes open, honey. That’s not a good thing.
Drogon and Bran should have a staring contest. My money’s on Bran
(scratch that, my money’s on Jaime and Brienne whenever they see eachother)
Ugh. How many manhood jokes are we going to have before this season’s over?!?!
So... the Hound and Arya’s reunion was kind of underwhelming, imo
Gendrya awwwwww.
Ooh, new weapon. Wonder what it does.
“You don’t know any other rich girls” - Arya // “And with you around he never will.” - My Wonderful Dad
Interesting point my Brother made about Lord Glover always being that guy never wanting to join the fight
Oh, Jon. If political!Jon is true, then stop handling this all on your own. Heck, even if it’s not. Your family is strong as steel. Trust them
Not sure if it’s intentional, but this scene kind of brings to mind shades of Ned and Catelyn in S1, E1 when discussing Ned becoming Hand of the King
Sansa is not helping those vibes. Oh, boy
“Why does everyone who claims Dany will be a good queen sound less like they believe it and more like they’re trying to convince themselves it’s true?” - My Wonderful Brother
SAM!!! MY DEAR CINNAMON ROLL!!! I’VE MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!!
Oh, shoot. Is this the Tarly reveal? I don’t think an “it was necessary” is going to work this time...
WOW. She didn’t even try to explain her actions. This somehow makes it far worse for me...
Jorah looking guiltier is actually unsettling
You made Sam cry, Dany. The gloves are off. You’re officially irredeemable in my books
Um, has no one wheeled Bran in yet? Like, he’s just been sitting there?
“Waiting for an old friend”? Is it Jaime? It’s got to be Jaime. Wonder if they’ll save the reunion for the end because more parallels
PARENTAGE REVEAL!!! PARENTAGE REVEAL!!!!!!!!
Jon looks so tired all the time in this episode, even with his family. Even if political!Jon isn’t real, Dany certainly isn’t doing him any wonders. And if you say she is, you’re not really watching the show
Awwww, Jon and Sam together again! And Jon is just as happy to see him as his “siblings”! My heart...
“So, are we ever going to find out if Little Sam’s alright, or...?” - My Wonderful Dad
Jon’s reaction to the burning of Sam’s dad and brother is kind of weak, but I”m hoping we get some more of his wrath directed at the source of this fiasco (Dany)
No, Jon. You and Dany aren’t alike in any way. Case and point - how you’ve been talking about how titles don’t matter every two seconds of this episode, while she was about to threaten your “sister” for not “respecting” her. See the difference, sweetie?
PREACH, SAM! PREACH!!!
Um... it probably would’ve been better to lead with Ned’s wasn’t your father than Lyanna’s your mom, but other than that, you’re doing great, Sam
A man from the south tells his northern best friend with a man-bun some game-changing news in a crypt. Sam-Jon, Robert-Ned parallel from S1, E1 achieved
I’m going to take  a moment to appreciate how Kit subtly incorporated and conveyed each of the five stages of grief in this scene
“It’s treason”/”It’s the truth”. I mean, maybe it’s just me, but Jon seems almost terrified to hear this news. Which tells me he’s well-aware of how Dany could react to it. Which tells me he’s not as daft as he’s letting on.
“You gave up your crown to save your people. Would she do the same?” Sam knows what’s up and I love him all the more for it
“No, no she wouldn’t” - My Wonderful Dad, Brother, and Less-Wonderful I all at the same time in response to Sam’s query
The score in the back, “Winter is Here”, when “Truth” might’ve been a more ironic, dramatic option - like with the last reveal. Hmmm. I see you, Ramin Djawadi. I see you
Edd! Beric! Tormund! Still stand by the idea that at least one of you should’ve died for emotional weight, but I’m glad to see you.
Okay. The blue eyes joke got a chuckle out of me, I admit
Child nailed at their torso thanks to white walkers parallel to S1, E1 achieved
Ned Umber opening his eyes seriously made me jump and I was expecting it
Child who is actually is a white walker nailed at their torso by white walkers parallel to S1, E1 achieved
And now I’m deaf. Thanks, Ned Umber
“Hey, don’t you think that creepy art piece kind of resembles the Targ sigil?” - My Wonderful Brother before the piece was set on fire
“Hey, now it really does.” - My Wonderful Brother after the piece was set one fire
A rider riding into town and I think I know who it is...
JAIME!!!!!!! *has meltdown because he’s my second favorite character, okay?*
My Wonderful Dad and Brother are just as hyped as I am. Bless them.
Jaime taking off headwear and looking around Winterfell parallel to S1, E1 spotted
Is it just me, or does he actually look happy to be there? I mean, you’d think he’d be more uncertain...
Oh, there’s the uncertainty
Jaime and Bran ending off the episode on a cliffhanger parallel to S1, E1 unlocked

Ano this is late but I had to wait till I could form at least one coherent thought about episode two so here's my thoughts now that I've stopped shaking.
Jaime's trail went pretty much how I thought it would and I'm so glad Brienne stood up for him, his puppy dog eyes when she defends him were great. Im happy that Tyrion was trying to defend him as well, their relationship is so important. Also Dany talking about the mad king again just adds to the feeling I have that she's gonna go dark. And Bran looking him straight in the eye and saying "the things we do for love" was something I didn't expect.
Dany is beginning to piss me off when she questions Tyrion, he's trying to help her and she doesn't acknowledge the fact that (like people point out) he admits his mistakes and learns from them.
Arya watching Gendry work like honestly me too. Them flirting is everything I need in life, the two of them showing off their skills and impressing each other is just so them. Also the fact that Arya went to him for his opinion on the white walkers and him being worried for her safety shows how much they care about each other.
Jaime and Bran's confrontation was what I expected it to be but I feel like Bran is trying to foreshadow Jaime's death but I'm praying I'm wrong.
Jaime and Tyrion talking and Jaime getting distracted by Brienne then going to her and trying to speak to her was amazing. He is so in love with her but he's so hopeless and if one of them dies before they can admit it I'm going to lose it. He has no idea how to charm her and she has no idea what he's up to, they're so clueless.
Jorah trying to advise Dany was a scene I've wanted for a while cos if she's gonna listen to anyone it would be him.
Dany and Sansa finally talking was so intense, Sansa is definitely playing Dany while Dany is trying to do the same but failing. She's trying to use flattery and her looks on Sansa the same way she uses it on men but after everything that Sansa has been through that would never work, Sansa on the other hand knows what she's doing and i think she has a plan to take Dany down.
Theon and Sansa is something that I only half shipped until this point but that reunion was everything I didn't know I needed. If he dies saving her (which I think he will) I'm gonna be a mess.
Davos and the little girl was a scene that honestly hurt me, it almost got me when I saw his face as soon as he saw the little girl.
Jon and Tormund reunion was pretty good, he better not die. It might be the end of the world but at least he's got his priorities right, Brienne is a priority.
The morbid feeling of the meeting was so fitting and Bran is so underrated, he is willingly giving himself to be bait and is prepared to die for this cause. Also I'm very interested to know what Bran told Tyrion when they were talking, it seems strange to show that then cut off before he says anything.
The scene with Missandei and Grey Worm gave me such a horrible feeling that they are gonna die. I would love them to travel but I'm not holding my breath.
The boys of the nights watch was a scene that was needed, I forgot how many if their brothers were gone and also GHOST WAS BACK FOR 0.2 SECONDS.
The whole drinking scene with Jaime and Tyrion was something that made me feel better, ano they will die and its all gonna go to shit but at least they spent some time together. Jaime practically jumping off his seat when Brienne and Podrick comes in and takes out a chair for her, what a hopeless man. Then Davos and Tormund show up and the story of this name, not what I expected but I loved it.
The Hound and Arya talking again and him admitting (in his own way) that he cares for her. This has gotta be one of my favourite duos and then her leaving them to go see Gendry.
ARYA AND GENDRY IS CANNON. I can't this scene was everything I needed in life. Him trying to admit that he's ready to be her family and him being completely honest with her about The Red Woman and being a Baratheon. Her seeing right through him about past lovers and him giving in. They are both in love with each other and care about each other, I'm so happy Arya got her first time with a man she loves and on her own terms. She deserves that so much and she deserves to feel safe and wanted in a happy, healthy relationship and Gendry is the best person for that. You can see how much Gendry cares when he looks more at her scars than boobs.
BRIENNE GOT HER KNIGHTHOOD. SHE DESERVED THAT SO MUCH. Her hesitation was so sad then she realised he wasn't kidding, she got her dream and everyone there was so supportive of her. They were all genuinely happy for her and she was on the verge of tears ( and so was I). Honestly no one deserves to be knighted more than her.
Lady Mormont is one of the best characters in this and I'd be happy to have her on the throne tbh, she's got more sense in her than even the adults. She knows she could die and didn't want to say goodbye on bad terms with Jorah, like that's more maturity that what most characters show. Sam giving Jorah his family sword was something I didn't see coming either but I'm glad it did happen.
Podrick can sing? I didn't see that coming and honestly I'm shook at his voice, it was actually pretty good. The montage during that song got me, Sam and his family in their bed had to be one of the most caring scenes. Also Sansa choosing to spend her last hours eating with Theon has given me too much hope for that ship that I already know is gonna sink.
Jon finally telling Dany about his parentage when how I thought as well. She doesn't care about anything but the throne and I'm really beginning to hate her at this point. It's took him a while to work up the courage to tell her and that's how she reacts. Not surprised at this tbh but I'm getting sick of her and the way she's getting.
I'm terrified for this next episode and ano this was a really long post but that episode was so much to take in. I've enjoyed the first two episodes, they tie up a lot of loose ends and I feel like they were necessary for the sake of the characters. I'm not sure I want to see the next episode tho, too many of my characters are going to die and I dunno if I can handle it.

Soooo episode 4 is just... Weird.
I'm especially tired of hearing about Jon supposedly being a better ruler when he and Daenerys seem to be about the same. Everyone just wants Jon on the throne bc they know they can manipulate him (I love him but he is easy to manipulate sometimes). People don't want Daenerys bc they can't control her and they're mad about it now that they know they can't.
I saw some people saying that Daenerys was manipulating Jon but like I saw none of that coming from her. She was like the only person that wasn't up to no good. Every single one of my family members is manipulative so I know it when I see it! And also bc I do a little manipulation of my own to survive capitalism as a jobless teen so I know what it's like to be manipulated and to manipulate! Daenerys wasn't doing that but trying to prevent more problems for everyone, including Jon.
I was a bit disappointed in Jon but I don't hate him it anything. I just don't think he's quite used to sharing feelings and speaking his mind. I did wish he has said “I love you” back to Daenerys. And obviously, I know things are gonna be a little off till he fully makes peace/comes to terms with his true parentage bc I'm pretty sure he loves her all the same. And I'm happy we got to hear him say that Daenerys is his queen and nothing would change that.
I want to smack some sense into Jon! You don't have a furry friend and then NOT pet them before you leave! And you sure as heck don't just give them away! Leaving pets for even a few hours is terrible for me so that scene just made no sense to me whatsoever.
Let me just say I am as tired of watching dragons die and I am of all the misogyny in this shows writing. As an animal lover, it wasn't hard at all to fall in love with the dragons bc they just seem so realistic and they have personality. So watching them die is terrible. Especially bc I know how it feels to lose a nonhuman creature you see as your child. It's horrible, as anyone that's ever had that bond with an animal knows. And knowing that Drogon is all alone without his brothers now is just heartbreaking! Poor sweet baby only has his mama now and no dragon bros to wander the skies with 😭😭😭
Jaime leaving Brienne made me so upset. She doesn't ask for much but she wanted him to stay and he couldn't even do that for her. I do understand that it's hard to get out and let go of toxic/abusive relationships bc there's usually so much that went into them but I really thought he had left Cersei for good. But hey, this season seems to be about stupid decisions with zero logic behind them!
I'm just sick of Sansa this season. I don't want to be but she's been written so horribly I can't ignore it and make excuses anymore. I think Bran is the only true-born Stark I actually like at this point bc he's chill. And I really don't understand Arya leaving Winterfell after all that family talk.
I OBVIOUSLY hated how Sansa and Sandor talked about Sansa’s rape. I can't think of any rape victims being glad they were raped and abused but what can I expect from misogynistic writing. What a disappointment.
I'm pretty disappointed that Sansa shared Jon’s secret and has put Daenerys (and even Jon!) in danger (which I suppose she would be happy about since she's a petty manipulator now). I understand why Jon wanted her and Arya to know bc I hate keeping secrets from people I love and trust too, it doesn't feel good. It feels a lot like lying. But I do think he should have listened to Daenerys and not told anyone or just told Arya since she is trustworthy at least. I just can't believe the writers would make Sansa do such a thing and still try to make Daenerys look like the villain (which I don't see bc I understand people and feelings and enjoy actually learning about human behavior however I can).
I ugly cried when Missandei died bc she was so pure and intelligent and just perfect. And obviously bc I love her so much. The world didn't deserve her! That was so horrible I can't even believe they did that to her. Especially considering she was the only woc left on the show! I did love her last words though. I just can't believe she died in chains 😭
I don't see what everyone is talking about in terms of Dany going “mad”. I see a human woman reacting to loss after loss, betrayal after betrayal in such a normal, human way. I honestly feel like I actually am going insane and I haven't suffered anything compared to Daenerys! Missandei was clearly the last straw and I don't blame Daenerys for anything she does now (I probably wouldn't anyway bc I do understand how war works and don't blame the strongest woman for it first chance I get). Like seriously, her haters’ internalized misogyny is showing!
I officially hate Cersei now bc she had Missandei killed. That is not something I can look past just bc she's kinda relatable or used to be anyway.
And I'm so done with Varys. Tyrion seemed pretty cool this episode so I don't hate him atm. He was trying to defend Daenerys at least.
I just don't like the brutality of this episode. Some deaths make sense but some don't (and I mean in the series as a whole, not just this episode)! If all I wanted was blood and gore and murder I would watch nothing but John Wick type movies and play games like Call of Duty. I love fantasy. I love magick and I love romance and I especially loved how this fantasy in particular managed to still seem realistic with dragons and direwolves and magick and all the neat stuff we don't have in the real world (well, except magick, we do have that). I only play Nintendo games for a reason! I'm gonna have to force myself to get back to reading the books now just to get to know the real characters and all the storylines that were left out.
I honestly feel betrayed after watching this last episode. I've never been so invested in something like this and I probably won't be again tbh bc I don't think anything could compare. The way things are playing out upset me as a woman and as a feminist, especially knowing this is a global thing! You find want to be sending the wrong messages when everyone on Earth is watching.
I feel played! I guess that's what I get for being optimistic about something for a change. I always get tricked into looking on the “bright side” only to be disappointed yet again! And almost always by men or humanity as a whole. I much prefer expecting the worst and not being disappointed when it happens. Though I seem to always hope for the best and prepare for the worst so I guess this is going to be an endless cycle for me, lol.
Not sure why I'm always surprised when straight white guys disappoint me, especially when they're in charge of telling the stories of women and poc or even just anyone that isn't a straight white cis guy. I suppose we can only imagine how different (and probably better) this show would have been if there were more female writers, especially woc!!! Gosh, I bet the show would have been 10x better. Oh well, I guess.
I think that's the end of my personal rant over episode 4, lol.

GOT Recap: The Bells
Airdate: 5/12/19  Season 8, Episode 5
I know it’s not good form to start off a post with “What in the actual hell just happened?!” but that’s all I have at this moment. How do I phrase this, exactly, without giving away everything right at the beginning of my recap?  All I can say is that this past episode of Game of Thrones was an epic and visually stunning piece of work and it also left me livid and disappointed in the turn that the creators have taken for the show.  We knew big things were coming, and come they did.  So without further ado, let’s dive in to the recap of “The Bells”:
Tumblr media
Lord Varys sits at his desk at Dragonstone penning some letters – we get a glimpse of the scroll he is working on and it appears that Varys is spreading the word about Jon Snow’s true lineage as Rhaegar Targaryen’s legitimate son.  Wowzers, the master of whisperers is wasting no time with his agenda to rally the kingdom behind Jon’s claim to the Iron Throne!
There’s a knock on the door, and Varys quickly stows away his stationary.   A little girl of about 9 years enters to inform him that Queen Daenerys still isn’t eating and Varys says they’ll try again at suppertime. Apparently it’s been two days now and Daenerys Targaryen has holed herself up in her room, refusing to see anybody and turning away all meals.  The girl expresses worry that the guards keep watching her and Varys says “What did we discuss?” – “The greater the risk, the greater the reward.”  He sends his little bird off to the kitchen where she works.  Hmmmm, the nuanced conversation makes it unclear, but I’m wondering if Varys is trying to poison Queen Dany.  After last episode, it wouldn’t surprise me.  Yikes, Varys the spider is weaving a dangerous little web here.  His days are numbered for sure.
Later in the day, Jon Snow arrives via boat at Dragonstone and Varys greets him at the shore – Tyrion Lannister watches from a distance with a mix of concern and trepidation on his face. As they walk together, Jon lets Varys know the Northerners are two days away from King’s Landing.  Varys hints that he thinks Dany may be going crazy, and that Jon would be a much better Targaryen ruler.  As usual, Jon rejects the notion of ruling the realm – the dude doesn’t want it, ok? -  and he professes his loyalty to his queen before he trots off, leaving Varys behind.
Tumblr media
Tyrion manages to pay a visit to Daenerys in her room.  She looks out her window as she speaks in a disconcertingly detached and monotone voice. “Somebody has betrayed me.”  -“Yup.” Without turning around she says, “Jon Snow.”  When Tyrion corrects her that it’s actually Varys, Dany does some creative deductive reasoning:  Varys knows about Jon’s parents because Tyrion told him – and Tyrion in turn found out from Sansa Stark whom Jon told.  Boom! Jon’s the traitor.  Case closed. Only wait, it’s not closed, because guess what? Queenie ain’t happy that Tyrion spoke with Varys without consulting her first.  She also points out that Sansa was playing Tyrion because she knew she could count on him to blab the info to Varys, which may as well translate to leaking the news to the Westeros Enquirer.  Tyrion attempts to defend his actions – he asserts that, as Hand of the Queen, he needs to know about information that is a threat to his boss, and yes, he made an error in judgment by not consulting her first. When he points out that Dany’s advisors are all trying to do what’s best for the world – Varys more than anyone- he realizes it doesn’t really matter. Daenerys agrees, it doesn’t.  Ruh roh, Varys!  I think we all were pretty certain he was gonna bite it soon – especially after Melisandre told him last season that he’d die in Westeros.   Looks like his time has officially run out.
Tumblr media
It’s evening and Varys sits in his chambers, once again composing rebellion letters to his Westerosi – and maybe even Essosi – pen pals.  He hears footsteps marching down the hall and hastily burns his letter, then calmly removes his rings.  Dude knows what’s coming.  Unsullied guards enter his room and Grey Worm holds manacles in his hands.
Tumblr media
At the shore, Varys is escorted by armed guards to face Daenerys, Jon and Tyrion.  Tyrion gives him the decency of letting him know it was he who snitched on Varys – in response Varys just nods.  “Yeah, that tracks.  I just hope it turns out I was wrong about Dany and that I deserved this.” I’ve gotta say, Varys who used to be so good at stealth and sneaking around has done a horrendous job at keeping his intentions a secret, so none of this is terribly surprising, even to him.  He bids Tyrion farewell with a warm squeeze to his arm.  Man, it’s so bittersweet.  Varys and Tyrion’s friendship and banter was something that was always super enjoyable in earlier seasons.  It’s sad to see it end like this, but he did have it coming.  Daenerys steps forward, and in that same detached voice from earlier, she informs Varys that he’s been sentenced to death.  She drones, “Dracarys” and out of the pitch dark behind her appears Drogon’s giant face.  Her dragon steps forward, stretches himself up and takes a deep breath, baring his teeth.  Then, POOF! Varys is engulfed in flames.  Yowzers, that was tense.  Jon just looks at Dany like “Khaleesi, you’re scary.”
Tumblr media
Later that night, Dany sits sullen in a chair by the fireplace in her room, as Grey Worm stands nearby.  Daenerys hands Grey Worm a slave collar and tells him it was the only possession that Missandei brought with her when they crossed the Narrow Sea to come to Grey Worm. With a stoic frown, Grey Worm takes the collar and tosses it in the fire.
Jon approaches and Daenerys dismisses Grey Worm so they can speak in private.  He waits for Dany to speak first, and the monotone words that pop out of her mouth are “What did I tell you would happen if you told your fam? Ya know, Sansa is just as much to blame for Varys’ death as I am, because she couldn’t keep her big mouth shut. She betrayed you.” She goes on to lament that she was beloved back in Essos and here nobody loves her – all she has is fear. Feebly, Jon hits his soundboard button that bleats out “I love you. You’re my queen.” But it’s not the kind of love Dany wants.  And somewhere in heaven Ser Jorah is probably saying “See what it’s like, Khaleesi???!!!  It ain’t fun, is it?”  She leans in to kiss him, but when Jon pulls back she scowls and mutters “Ok, fear it is.” What the heck?  May I ask why Jon even bothered to come back if he isn’t going to at least try to talk Dany down from the bad place she is in?
Also, I’m thinking if Daenerys made more of an effort at Winterfell, she probably could have won some people over.  Really, she just needed to do a few shots with Tormund during the feast, dance with Jon in a Scottish reel and then balance on her tippy toes and I’m sure the entire North would’ve gotten behind her.  Maybe not everybody will get my Titanic reference, but for the 4 people who do, it was worth it.
Tumblr media
The next day in the throne room at Dragonstone, Daenerys talks battle strategy with her only two remaining advisors:  Grey Worm and Tyrion.  After Cersei killed her bestie, and Grey Worm’s girlfriend, they both are ready to torch King’s Landing.  Daenerys even goes as far as to blame the people of King’s Landing for not turning on their queen, as a justification for wanting to burn the city.  In a last ditch effort to reason with her, Tyrion tells Daenerys that the people of King’s Landing are scared to fight Cersei, because she’ll kill them and their families.  “Lame excuse! Well, guess what, Cersei thinks she can exploit my mercy as a weakness, but she doesn’t realize that my mercy extends to mercy killing future generations so they don’t have to live under a tyrant.” “Ummmm, I’m pretty sure that’s not how it works, Crazy. Would you please consider a route that doesn’t involve killing thousands of innocent men, women, and children?  If they ring the bells,  that means they surrender.  Listen out for the bells, ok? Please???” Dany gives a grudging nod to Grey Worm and then tells them to wait outside the gates of King’s Landing until she gives them the signal to attack - they’ll know it when they see it.
Tumblr media
Before Tyrion leaves the throne room, Dany goes “Oh, and by the way, my guards stopped your bro Jaime – he was on his way to King’s Landing.  So guess what, you were wrong AGAIN.  He hasn’t abandoned Cersei.  If you fail me one more time you’re toast. ” –“Ok, I got it.” –“No dude, like, literally. I will toast you with my dragon.” –“Yeeeeah…I got that part.” –“But really.  You’re gonna die.  With dragon fire.  M’kay, byyeee, see ya at happy hour!”
Tumblr media
That evening, Jon and Tyrion arrive by boat to join Dany’s and Jon’s forces camped outside King’s Landing. The rear guard for the North won’t get there till morning and Tyrion says that Dany wants to fight asap, but Jon confirms, nothing’s gonna happen till daybreak.  Tyrion pulls Davos aside and asks “Davos, my man…I need you to do me a solid. You’re the world’s best smuggler, right?”  Davos knows he’s going to regret whatever comes next.
The Hound and Arya arrive outside King’s Landing that night and they make their way through the Northern camp.  When a soldier stops them, the Hound tells him it’s Arya Stark, the hero of Winterfell and she’s gonna kill Cersei. The confused soldier goes to talk to his manager - and the Hound and Arya just traipse past.
Meanwhile, Tyrion approaches a tent guarded by Unsullied soldiers – he pulls rank and dismisses them, then walks inside the tent to find Jaime Lannister tied up.  Tyrion tells his brother he’ll only free him if Jaime agrees to get Cersei out of the Red Keep.  He informs Jaime of a secret passageway that runs from the basement of the Red Keep outside to the shore, and he’s arranged for a boat for them to escape.  Tyrion makes a big deal about telling Jaime to be sure to ring the city’s truce bells before he and Cersei make a run for it.  When Jaime asks him why he’s risking his life, Tyrion tells him he’s repaying the favor, if his death means saving the lives of hundreds of thousands of innocent people, it’s a fair trade.  Then Tyrion gives us all the feels when he tells Jaime that he was the only person that was ever kind to him when they were kids.  They hug and Tyrion sobs.  Awww, this is a really touching moment! I may have shed a tear or two.
Tumblr media
The next morning, Euron and his Iron Fleet, lay in wait in the bay and ready their dragon-killing spear launchers – fun fact: that weapon is called a Scorpion.  You learn something new every day, folks! Team Cersei’s army prepares for the battle and it’s an overall tense scene with people clearing the streets – lots of shots of small children and babies being whisked indoors.  Among the frenzied crowd, Arya and the Hound walk into town.  They join a mob of commoners frantically running to the gates of the Red Keep to seek safety inside its walls.  The Golden Army marches outside the city gates and stands in formation.
Tumblr media
Across from the Golden Army are the Northerners and Dany’s army, ready for battle.  Tyrion reminds everybody again to listen for the bells, as that is the sign that King’s Landing has surrendered.
Tumblr media
From her tower balcony in the Red Keep, Cersei smiles smugly as her courtyard fills with innocent citizens – aka dragonfire fodder.  The guards start to close the gates – Arya and the Hound manage to squeeze in before the gates are shut.  Jaime is among the crowd of people who didn’t make it in.  He waves his golden hand around like a backstage pass, hoping the Lannister guards will see it, but they don’t.  Finally, he ducks down an alley, presumably to find another way into the castle.
Tumblr media
The suspense builds as we get multiple shots of people on both sides waiting silently for the fight to start.  All’s still as the Iron Fleet looks out to the horizon for a glimpse of Daenerys and her dragon.  Euron suddenly turns to look up into the sun and sees a dragon coming down in a divebomb. The Iron Islanders scramble to aim their Scorpions at Drogon, but they’re too slow and a stream of dragon fire obliterates a line of ships.  It’s incredibly satisfying to see Dany and her dragon lay waste to the entire Iron Fleet in a matter of seconds.
Tumblr media
Daenerys then switches course for the walls of King’s Landing.  It’s really nice to see her actually using some type of strategy here – she keeps her dragon low along the water, then pulls up suddenly, expertly avoiding any incoming spears and again, she takes out a ton of Scorpions.
On the other side of town, the Golden Army stands at attention outside the city gates – Captain Strickland stares off at Grey Worm and the rest of the Unsullied, Dothraki, and Northerners across the way.  Everybody waits in anticipation.  The Golden Army hear distant explosions from behind them when suddenly: BLAST!!! Dragonfire obliterates the wall and engulfs the Golden Army.  Dany’s and Jon’s forces charge into the city.
Tumblr media
The action plays out like a horror movie as we see glimpses of a dragon’s tail followed by more dragon fire and scorpions being torched.  It’s chaos in the streets as civilians run in a panic.  Cersei’s soldiers fight the advancing Dothraki, Northerners and Unsullied.
Tumblr media
Cersei watches it all from her balcony and her smug confidence wavers just a smidge.  Things aren’t going quite as expected.
Tyrion makes his way through the burning carnage outside the city walls.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Qyburn fills Queen Cersei in on the state of the city and it ain’t pretty:  All the Scorpions have been destroyed.  The Iron Fleet can’t defend them because…they don’t exist anymore.  And that fancy Golden Army?  They’re dunzo. Qyburn suggests they move on to Plan B and get the hell out of Dodge, but Cersei refuses and states that the Red Keep has never fallen before, and it won’t today.
Tumblr media
Grey Worm, Jon Snow, and Ser Davos Seaworth lead the charge of men through the city until they come upon Cersei’s army barring the way.  Both sides stand in tense silence – neither one makes the first move.
Tyrion’s desperate gaze is fixed upon the bell towers in the distance.  They stand still and silent.  Jaime Lannister, in the meantime, has found a back way around the castle walls.
Daenerys and her dragon swoop over King’s Landing as the civilians below gasp in fear.  Drogon lands on a wall and lets out a ferocious roar. The crowd below is terrified. Dany waits.  After a long moment, Cersei’s army drop their swords.  A voice calls out “Ring the bells!”  Then another voice.  Over and over, people call out “Ring the bells!”  Cersei looks out at the city, she doesn’t give word.
From Dany’s perch on her dragon, she looks down across King’s Landing and then up at the Red Keep where she just knows Cersei is looking back.  It’s a 5-mile stare-off y’all and it’s super intense.
Tumblr media
After what feels like an eternity, the truce bells finally chime.  Jon heaves a huge sigh of relief, as does Tyrion.  Dany glares at the Red Keep.  She sobs and there’s a brief internal struggle.  Hatred burns in her eyes and her dragon takes to the sky and flies toward the Red Keep.  Cersei watches as the dragon swoops overhead a crowd of civilians scrambling  in a panic.  And then…Drogon unloads a stream of fire, torching men, women, and children. Are you effin’ KIDDING ME?!  How is this happening???
Tumblr media
What ensues is a senseless massacre as Dany and her dragon continue to burn street upon street of innocent citizens.  Back where Grey Worm and Jon Snow stand, the Lannister army hears a commotion behind them. The captain looks at them like, “Hey, what load of crap are you guys pulling?”  As the Lannister soldiers look behind them to see what’s going on, their captain turns back to face his enemies and Grey Worm launches his spear into the unarmed man’s chest.  Whoa, this is some serious foul play.
Tumblr media
The Unsullied and Northerners charge into the unarmed soldiers.  Slow mo Jon Snow is NOT down with what’s happening.  I feel ya, Jon.  I feel ya.  He stops his guys from advancing and Grey Worm shoots him major stinkeye “You’re gonna betray your Khaleesi like that?” and continues onward with the Unsullied army.
Tumblr media
The rest is a 40 minute long sequence of unspeakably horrific and brutal genocide as Dany and her dragon lay fiery waste to King’s Landing.  The streets have been turned into rivers of fire.  Cersei is STILL in her tower and looks on with the nervous realization that things are looking pretty bad for her.  Ya think?
Tumblr media
On the ground, Ser Davos helps to steer the panicked crowd in a safe direction.  Women are raped and murdered in front of their children as Northerners, Dothraki and the Unsullied ravage the city.  Jon is still watching everything around him on the slow mo channel. What is even going on here?!
Dany’s dragon reaches the Red Keep and takes out a tower.  Meanwhile, Jaime has made his way to the secret entrance into the Red Keep, but guess who’s also there for absolutely no reason whatsoever?  Euron Greyjoy.  Yeah.  All Euron wants to do is be a d-bag and fight Jaime.  The two go at it, and eventually Euron critically wounds Jaime with a stab to the gut.  Spurred on by love, adrenaline, and lame writing, Jaime manages to fight back with a fatal blow to Euron and then Jaime continues on his way to save Cersei.  As Euron bleeds out on the ground he cackles like a madman  that he got Jaime good.  Really? We can’t spare any screen time for Daenerys’ descent into total madness but we can show this pointless scene?  Ok.
Tumblr media
Even though the Red Keep is under fire, Cersei is holds on to the notion that things aren’t totally over for her – ahhh, denial!  Qyburn finally gets her to go with him to try their chance at escaping into exile.  As they head down the winding stairwell, we see the burning city and intermittent green explosions go off.  Wildfire reserves?  Were these remnants from the Mad King’s rule or did Cersei plant them as booby traps throughout the city?  I guess we’ll never know!!
Tumblr media
While Drogon makes his rounds over the Red Keep, the Hound and Arya have snuck inside the castle and are in the map room where the walls are crumbling down. The Hound gives Arya a quick chat about revenge and what it does to people – he’s been after it his whole life. “Do you want to turn out like me?  If you go with me, you’re going to die here.” His words strike a chord and Arya realizes she chooses life.  She thanks him and hightails it out of the Red Keep.  Wait, what?  I was promised some Arya-Cersei revenge killing, with the possibility of face swaps, are you telling me that’s not going to happen?
Tumblr media
Cersei and Qyburn scramble down the staircase with the Frankenmountain while the roof falls in around them.   As large boulders crash down, Cersei presses up against the wall and she is miraculously unscathed.  As the rubble and dust clear, they notice the Hound blocking the way.  It’s Cleganebowl time, y’all!  The Mountain is suddenly in Hound fighting mode – he doesn’t even listen to his queen’s commands and he smacks Qyburn out of the way, instantly killing him.  As both men stare each other down, Cersei nervously walks past them. “So…I can see you two have some unfinished business, Imma just squeeze by here and leave you to it. K, bye!”
Tumblr media
When she gets to the map room, Cersei looks around with no direction.  She’s on her own.  But wait…no she’s not because…ta daaaaa, there’s Jaime!  Cersei falls into his arms, a sobbing mess.  Ugh!!
Tumblr media
The Hound and the Mountain go at it while Arya navigates her way through the chaos of King’s Landing. She encounters crumbling buildings, hysterical mobs and burn victims at every turn.  At one point, Arya loses her footing and is trampled by the panicked crowd as dragon fire continues to sweep across the city.  We get a lot of cutaways between Arya and the Hound – both seemingly going through the same pain.  Everytime the Hound gets in a blow to the Mountain, it has no effect whatsoever. He manages to knock off Frankenmountain’s helmet in the fight and it’s like Darth Vader unmasked. As the Hound is brutally beaten by his big brother and pushed down to the ground,  Arya is squashed by the running mob.  She fights in vain to get back on her feet.  Maybe the cutaway technique is supposed to be poetic storytelling, but at this point I just feel so manipulated by the showrunners that I can’t even appreciate it. A woman helps Arya get back up again.
Tumblr media
The Mountain simply will not die, despite numerous wounds that would have killed anybody else.  And then we are treated to his signature move:  boring his fingers into his adversaries’ eyes.  It’s so grotesque and I’m praying he doesn’t squish the Hound’s skull like a watermelon a la Oberin Martell.  The Hound fights Frankenmountain off with a dagger to his skull – it barely phases the bigger, badder Clegane.  In a last ditch effort, the Hound lunges at his big brother and they both tumble over the wall into the burning wreckage below.  RIP Hound, we loved you!  Sorry your bro is a weird undead zombie that can’t be killed!  Sorry you didn’t actually stand any chance whatsoever of winning that fight!  And sorry the writers suck!
Tumblr media
On the ground, Jon Snow takes in the devastation around him.  Explosions of wildfire go off here and there and he commands his men to fall back.
Elsewhere in the burning city, Arya has passed out from falling debris.  She comes to, very likely concussed, and gasps for air. White ash is everywhere. More buildings crumble to pieces as she continues her escape out of the city.
There’s a short-lived attempt to rescue some cowering women and children – the only one who follows her is the same woman  who helped her up earlier when she was being trampled.  Hold on, hold on…might this woman be…Jaqen H’Gar in disguise??? They’ve been giving her a lot of screen time.  But no, she’s just a random person we’re suddenly supposed to care for.   She and her daughter get charred to smithereens in the next scene when Dany’s dragon unleashes another blast of fire – Arya ducks out of the way in the nick of time.  Of course.
Tumblr media
As the Red Keep continues to cave in and crumble around them, Jaime and Cersei head down to the basement only to find all exits blocked by rubble. There’s no way out.  Cersei finally realizes this is the end.  She blubbers that she wants to live and wants her baby to live and begs Jaime “Don’t let me die! Don’t let me dieee!” Ugh. Too little, too late, Cersei. Jaime holds her in his arms and comforts her.  He tells her nothing else matters besides the two of them.  The tune of The Rains of Castamere plays over the action and the ceiling crashes in on them. Ugh!  That’s how they die?  Lovingly in each other’s arms? No prophecy where her younger bro strangles her? Maybe I’m a spiteful jerk, but Cersei deserved much worse of a death.  And also, it seems pretty inconsistent that Cersei of all people has been reduced to a sobbing damsel in distress looking for a man to rescue her.  I’m so over this episode and the abominable writing that is going on throughout.   Arya should have killed Cersei, wearing Jaime’s face.  That’ something I think we all could have gotten behind.  Not this lame death where we’re supposed to feel sorry for queen biatch Cersei.
Tumblr media
Hey guess what?  It’s time to watch Arya once again attempt to make it out of King’s Landing alive.  She sees the burnt remains of the mom and daughter she was helping, and a tear falls down her cheek.  As she looks around her, there stands a white horse just feet away.  She carefully approaches it and takes the reigns. Maybe this is supposed to be some heavy-handed symbolism, but I’m not feeling it.  Arya gallops off – presumably to safety.  Roll credits.
Tumblr media
Wow.  What a heaping pile of you know what.  The aren’t enough question marks or expletives in the world to capture the incredulity and disappointment I feel about this episode.  Really, I was hoping this was just an elaborate Snickers commercial and at the end, Crazy Dany bites into a candy bar and turns normal again while a voiceover goes “You’re not you when you’re hungry.”
But seriously, what the eff? Screw you, Weiss & Benioff!  What a betrayal of the viewers – the creators took years of complex character development and threw it all in the toilet with a cheap, lazy plot twist to turn Daenerys into a super villain with ZERO explanation of how she got there.
Tumblr media
And making the audience watch 40 minutes of brutal slaughter and suffering was completely unnecessary. I’m so mad.  In the past, with these sprawling epic battle scenes, the viewer always had an investment and a side they were rooting for.  Just watching the genocide of an entire city with no chance of victory did not need to go on for as long as it did.  Clearly the creators wanted to drive home the point that there is no coming back from this for Daenerys.  We all have to hate her now and there is nothing redeemable about her.
Mostly I’m pissed because there was no transition from the Dany we saw to this monster who – after the city surrenders – torches all these people who are now her own subjects.  It doesn’t compute.  Sure, there were hints in the past that Dany could take brutal measures at times, but they at least had some kind of logic or rationalization behind them.  Killing a bunch of innocent people after you have been handed over the city and the throne that you so badly wanted…I don’t get it.  And it’s not my job as a viewer to fill in the huge gap of additional character development that needed to happen in order to get Dany from an angry, mourning queen, out for vengeance against Cersei into a psychopathic Hitler, killing everybody.  This is the same woman who locked her dragons up for who knows how long because they killed a little child when they were hunting for sheep.  Give me at least some way to understand how she could have changed other than just saying “She’s crazy everybody!!” Also, it ticked me off that they didn’t show Dany’s face even once after she went crazy. Hey, maybe Bran is actually evil after all and he warned into Drogon and did this all just to make Dany look bad!
All right, I’ll quit my whining.  This episode has kinda ruined the show for me and I don’t have high hopes for the ending. My guess is that Daenerys has to be killed now.  I don’t care if or how they do it.  Maybe Bran will warg into Drogon and kill her?  Maybe she’ll try to torch Tyrion and we’ll find out he’s a secret Targaryen and she’ll go even more crazy wondering just how many damned Targaryen sleeper cells are out in the world.
If Varys ever got any of his letters delivered, my assumption is those people will now back Mr. Jon “I hate responsibility” Snow.  He’ll probably also bite it or run off to the North to become a Wildling.  Then everybody will decide to put Sansa and Tyrion in charge, or better yet, they’ll break up into separate countries and Sansa can rule the North.  It’s not like there is actually a capital left in Westeros to rule from.
At this point I’d also be totally fine with a Wizard of Oz ending where Bran wakes up after falling from the tower and tells everybody about his fabulous dream.  Sorry to end this all on a downer, but as Mad Queen Dany would say “It’s not my fault. It’s the writers’. They have betrayed you, gentle reader, not I.”  Just know, you’re not alone in your feelings.  Hang in there and I’ll see you next week, my friends. It’s gonna be a doozy.

Rewatched episode 3 and I cried...again
So I assumed from what we learned in episode 2 that alot more characters would die...not gonna lie still cried like a....baby?...
#1 The dothraki deserve a round of applause for being the first to head into battle and the first on my list of farewell. You guys are the real MVP!! You are the horror stories that the people of Westeros told their children at night...Dothraki screamers, Dragons and white walkers. We love you for following the Great Khaleesi across the poison water and we love you for your undying loyalty. May the Great Stallon and our Khal Drogo welcome you in afterlife and may your braids never be short.
#2 Edd....Dolorous Edd, last Lord Commander of the Nights Watch. Just...I didn't see that coming my man....you were funny, you were rude, you were perfect. You deserve your own pyre. Gonna miss you Edd.
#3 LYANNA muthaflippin MORMONT!!!!! No...do you hear me??? No. She was a boss a** little girl who turned into a boss a** leader of an entire house who then again turned into a boss a** giant slayer who went down like a champ!!! That's my girl. No. I said no and you can fight me.
#4 Jorah MORMONT!!!!!!!! an entire house down in the span of an hour. An ENTIRE HOUSE!!! The man who has loved, served, was loyal (iffy in the beginning but if Dany forgives...) till the very end. He has been on an incredible journey from her guide/ translator after her marriage to Drogo, to greystone and countless other horrors in between to this. I can't. It hurts my heart.
#5 Melisandre....I dont know how I feel about this. On one hand, bye Felicia because of the mistakes she made in the past. Then on the other I'm kinda unsure. She brought our boy Jon back from the dead, she lit that stick on fire for the trench...idk the good doesnt necessarily outway the bad.
#6 Beric Dondarrion. Dude...protecting the assassin? I love you more now than I ever did before.
#7 This one for me actually hurt. Like I ugly cried and dreamt of his death on loop. Theon...Theon Greyjoy of House Greyjoy and House Stark. His character has developed so beautifully over the years and had so much depth. He loved his "brothers" but hated that they weren't his brothers. He stood by Robb but his father spit on him like he was worth nothing and so flipped sides all so his daddy would love him. And then his father still hated him so he tried to take Winterfell and his dad still hated him. Then he loses Winterfell to the Ramsey Bastard and his wang and his mind...and he believed his name was Reek and had to watch his little sister be raped by the man who destroyed him. Then saved his sister (both of them) and remade himself completely to end up dead defending one of the brothers he turned his back on. Jon said last season that he was both Greyjoy and Stark, and I hope that they keep that thought when they plan for where his body will be put to rest.
Alright so now I wanna know why I planned for so many more deaths that didn't come to fruition. There where so many hints...damn you D&D for tricking me....I love it. P.S. I loved what you did with Sansa and Tyrion in the crypts tho i wish you hadn't have taken out the parts where they actually fought the walkers...still by little ship will sail into the moonlight

Maybe this is me being naive and hopeful but I don't see the point of Dany dying in the books, yeah, I know what happened in the show, but nothing that happened in s8 made sense anyway. Martin spent a ot of time in ADWD with the political and economic aspects of Meereen, with all the problems that making a new system has to erase at the end the character that has that storyline and that will be needed at the end of the book for Westeros rebuilding.
I have to agree. This was what was so disappointing for me as well with season 8. That GRRM spend an entire book on characters like Dany and Jon being leaders and having to make the tough decisions and getting actual experience and the show ending just gets rid of these characters.
I mean, we had Jon spend a chapter literally counting grain and barley and veggies in the store room. Why? We had to read Dany making the hard decisions, right and wrong decisions, compromise, lose and win. All for nothing.
The writing the show gave it’s endgame leaders was abysmal. Tyrion turned into an idiot, they didn’t care about Bran and Sansa’s qualification was making snarky comments.
In Bran’s case, I could see GRRM taking him down the path of Leto II Atreides from Children of Dune, in which scenario he could make King Bran of Westeros work in the books. But D&D did not write ANYTHING at all for Bran. On the other hand, they were really invested in Sansa as a character, they wanted her to be more important on the show, they took story arcs and characterization from other characters in the books for show Sansa and they still could not make queen Sansa work on the show.
And the show’s ending does not gel with GRRM’s take on ruling:
We had GRRM’s entire spiel on what ruling means:
One thing that I am trying to get at in the books, the political aspect if you would, is to kind of show that this stuff is hard. I think that an awful lot of fantasy and even some great fantasy falls under the mistake of assuming that a good man would be a good king and all that is necessary is to be a decent human being and then when you are king everything will go swimmingly. Tolkien is great but we never get into the nitty gritty of Aragorn ruling. What is his tax policy? How does he feel about crop rotation?
How does he handle land disputes between two nobles, both of whom think that they should have the village, so they burn it down to establish their claim. This is the hard part of ruling be it in the middle ages or now. It’s not enough to be a good man to be an effective ruler. It’s complicated and it’s hard and I wanted to show that with repeated examples in my books with my kings and hand of the kings - the prime minister if you would - trying to rule. And whether it be Ned Stark or Tyrion Lannister or Tywin Lannister or Daenerys Targaryen or Cersei Lannister trying to deal with the real challenges that affect anyone trying to rule the 7K or even a city like Meereen and it’s hard.
You know, we can all read the books or read history and say oh, so and so was stupid and made a lot of mistakes and look at all these stupid mistakes they make. But these kind of mistakes are always much more apparent in hind sight than when you are actually faced with the decision about, oh my God, what would I do in this situation. How do I resolve this thing? Do I do the moral thing? But what about  the political consequences of the moral thing? Do I do the pragmatic, cynical thing and kind of screw the people who are screwed by it? I mean, it is HARD. And I want to get to all of that - GRRM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJCb3xyWyAg
This statement here?
If I am ever a queen I will make them love me
is an antithesis of everything GRRM says above. This quote shows, to a certain extent, Sansa’s naivete at this point. The Tyrells deliberately cut off food to KL and then Margaery Tyrell distributes food to the people to win their favor.  It has  nothing to do with the well being of the people here.  Sansa sees this and thinks that when she is queen, she will make people love her and some folks think that this points to Sansa being the most compassionate, best queen ever.
That’s why Queen Sansa is so attractive to people who subscribe to the simplistic notion that all ruling entails is being beloved by the people. She’s a blank slate who has yet to negotiate or hash out deals with adults, or make a single decision that affects the lives of the people under her. She’s perfect because she has yet to do anything. The Disney fairy tale version - ironically something Sansa believed in at the start of the books. That’s why Jonsas think that we will get King Jon and Queen Sansa ruling happily ever after.
Dany should by all rights be a popular, beloved leader in Meereen. But it’s not easy. She has to hand out justice which is complicated. She has to start building up an economy from scratch - one not based on slavery. She has to deal with an insurgency, famine, disease. She has to make hard choices and she has to do it surrounded by enemies. The former slaves want her to reopen the fighting pits. Does Dany do the moral thing or what her people want?
Both Jon and Dany make mistakes. They make some emotional decisions that are not right. But to quote Leto II Atriedes when he gives his father’s ring to Stilgar in Children of Dune:
To remind you that all humans make mistakes, and that all leaders are but human.
Dany is not in a similar situation to the rich Tyrells who can ‘buy the vote’ so to speak, by handing out food to the starving populace of KL. Starvation that happened because the Tyrells closed off the Roseroad during the WOT5K. But Sansa is not thinking like the Tyrells here. She genuinely thinks that all it takes to be a good queen is to make her people happy - and it’s that simple.
Jon Snow at the wall, being the head of a military institution, has it easier than Dany. But, not having Dany’s charm and charisma, he has a harder time convincing people that he is making the right decisions.  By the time we reach the end of ADwD, Jon knows that he is hated by a majority of the watch.
Jon is not making decisions that are popular or liked by his men. He is making decisions based on defending the realm. Save the lives of the freefolk - and not provide more dead to the Others, save the men he send to Hardhome, prepare the watch, prepare the castles, get more food, train more people etc. He too makes mistakes - fails to read the mood of the people. Fails to take warnings seriously. Undermines the neutrality of the watch by interfering in the affairs of the realm.
Doing a re-read of the Wheel of Time series before the TV adaptation premieres, I am reminded of this line from Rand al’Thor returning to one of the kingdoms he conquered. This is the hero of the story, the good guy.
The pair gathered themselves, drew deep breaths — and saw Rand over the Maidens’ heads. Their eyes nearly popped out of their faces. Each man glanced sideways at the other, and then they were on their knees. One stared fixedly at the floor; the other squeezed his eyes shut, and Perrin heard him praying under his breath. “So am I loved,” Rand said softly. - A Crown of Swords
Ruling is not always about being popular, beloved, compassionate, always being right etc. I doubt GRRM intends it to be that way. He has given several instances of rulers and leaders in his books and as he points out none of them has had it easy. Hindsight is 2020 and all that and leader often times make unpopular decisions.
I am torn on Dany’s ending. On the one hand, I find it hard to believe that GRRM is going to kill off a character that he spend so much time building up as a ruler. She is also one of the big 5, who is mentioned as surviving till the end along with Jon, Arya, Bran and Tyrion in the original outline. Why would he kill off just Dany from the big 5?
But would Benioff and Weiss really kill off Daenerys if she does not die in the books? That’s a really big departure for a central book character. I think GRRM knows the endings of the big 5 - in interviews he has always stated that he knows Jon, Arya and Tyrion’s endings.
So whether Dany lives or dies in the books? I don’t know. It will indeed be very disappointing if she does die though. I want the big 5 to make it and have decently good endings.

Game of Thrones season finale rant
I already know this is gonna be a long one so I apologize in advance but I, just like everyone else, have a lot of feelings about this show. Anyway let's just get started
Jon: I think my notes are gonna be about each character cause it just seems fitting and Jon, oh Jon... *sighs* so I've never been such a fan of the guy tbh I mean I never had a problem with him, I liked him just fine but he was always like a meh character to me. BUT THIS SEASON! This season that changed cause with all the "Daenerys is my Queen" situation I was annoyed with him for most of the season and honestly? I was just waiting for him to die. And this episode! Stupid naive Jon was STILL defending Daenerys after she massacred a whole entire city! Like seriously?? WTF is your problem Jon?! Thank God we have Tyrion my second favorite character of the show (only cause Arya Stark exists) and he gave Jon a good speech that made him reconsider his loyalties. As soon as he kissed her I knew he was gonna kill her. But anyway the point is Jon killed the witch and I couldn't not be happier about it. I've seen a lot of people complaining about Daenerys but I personally don't care how she died I just care that it happened. Now about his ending I think it makes sense that he went back to the North cause there's where he felt most comfortable and cause he couldn't be King of the North anymore since the North has a new Queen now!! But I'll get to that in a minute. Anyway point is I never liked Jon. I love that he killed the MQ and I'm glad he reunited with Gost.
Daenerys: THE WITCH IS DEAD! THE MAD QUEEN HAS FALLEN! And she didn't even got to sat on the fucking throne!! Not once! I'm lmfao so hard right now! 😂 😂 and JON! Fucking Jon killed her 😂 😂 😂!!!. Okay... now that that's out of my sistem, let's talk about the only scene she had this episode. Home girl was really trying to justify her actions and putting all the blame on Cersei! Really Dany? REALLY? That's what you wanna go with? Are you sure?? And she genuinely believed till the very end that what she was doing was good and right and necessary to create a "good world" a world with mercy and peace! Girl you just slaughtered half the people WTF are you talking about? Anyway she's dead and I'm glad. Moving on. Thank you, next!
Tyrion: Hands down the BEST character of the entire episode. When he took off the hand pin I thought he was gonna kill or try to kill Daenerys where she stand but nope that did not happened (it would have been cool tho tbh) she died in the end so it's fine. Anyway he was imprisoned for litteraly no reason other than being against Daenerys but sure she wasn't a tyrant whatever you say. Thing is even in prison he did more than most of the characters (except for Arya and Sansa) in the whole season! He convinced Jon to kill "his Queen" and "the woman he loved" in two minutes! I stan! And THEN he named a new King while being on trial for his life! Like WHO DOES THAT? Tyrion motherfuking Lannister that's who! I love him and he'll forever be in my heart ❤️ ♥️
The Starks: I stan 1 (one) family! Omg! I mean Bran as King was a little disappointing tbh cause he literally did NOTHING to deserve it but Arya and Sansa OMG! QUEENS! Arya going to conquer America I stan! And Sansa being the Queen of the North! WOW! They have both grown so much! I literally could not stand Sansa when she was a kid and now she's there defending her people and declaring Winterfell an independent Kingdom! WHAT A FUCKING QUEEN! ❤️♥️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Other shit:
I was not expecting Cersei and Jaime to appear at all I was shocked! Poor Tyrion! 😭
Drogon burnt the throne! Like WTF was that? Does the dragon suddenly understand what the throne means and realizes that that's what his mother died for? That was stupid.
Can we talk about Brienne writing Jaime's memories in the Book of Brothers and crying? OMG that broke my heart! Brienne sweetie you deserved better ❤️
