Unseasonal for no snow to be here, but at least some of the Schlumbergeras are popping around the right time despite hit/miss care.

They look like flying birds ♥️✨
Schlumbergera is the correct botanical name but they are frequently called Zygocactus, their former botanical name.

I thought this Haworthia fasciata looked pretty good but my plant app says it’s leggy and needs more light. Maybe a south facing window? And yes, my holiday cactuses are trying to bloom again. This must be a St Patrick’s Day cactus!

I love how Schlumbergeras sometimes just decide they wanna flower at all non-holiday seasons. Which fair enough; their wild ancestors stick to the season of May in their native habitat anyhow.

Well, sometimes I use traditional media too. Now this plant is flowering, it's a good sign for Ostara i think. Colored pensils and watercolor.

Succulents Part 3--Schlumbergera
Succulents are a wide variety of plants, spanning multiple orders. Some have succulent leaves while others have succulent stems. Cactuses are succulents, but not all succulents are cactuses. Defining what exactly makes a succulent is a little tricky. For example, cabbage leaves are considered by some to be succulent, but tulip and onion leaves apparently aren't.

Holiday cactus (Christmas cactus, Easter cactus, or Thanksgiving cactus, depending when the plant blooms) is a lovely plant. The flowers are intensely bright and kind of look like nudibranches.

"Schlumbergera Intrigue"
Sahra and Ripy were intrigued by the flowers. They've never seen these ones before.
