“I fall in love with peace, coffee, and sunsets. I fall in love with pizza nights, video games that keep me excited for hours and songs that my heart cannot help but to dance to. I fall in love with Septembers, the inevitability of spring after winter and clouds shaped like little puppies. I fall in love with hugs that last more than 5 seconds, friends who are warm like campfires for my heart and good memories. I fall in love with books with characters that remind me of me and how it makes me feel like I too can succeed and find a happy ending in real life. I fall in love with kindness, cheerful surprises, and things that give meaning to suffering. I find it so beautiful and liberating to fall in love with everything that can contribute to my healing.” - Juansen Dizon, Lover of Healing

Brown Out

Richmond, Virginia (USA)

Photo from November 21, 2020.

A dried Japanese Cedar branch that I found on the ground. The dried beanches seem particularly seasonal for late autumn.

At Autumn’s End

Richmond, Virginia (USA)

Photo from November 29, 2020.

A Willow Oak tree with the last of its slim, narrow leaves clinging to the branches.

It can be tricky walking on sidewalks or ground covered by Willow Oak leaves. When dry, they’re quite slippery as I’ve discovered from personal experience. It’s like walking on pieces of silk ribbons… No traction, which you realize once you suddenly land on the ground. 😆

“We truly underestimate the importance of emotional support and how much it matters. Being there for someone will probably be the truest and most beautiful thing you’ll ever do to someone when they are at their lowest and ugliest version of themselves.” - Noor ElAdawy

Autumn Shadows

Joseph Bryan Park

Richmond, Virginia (USA)

Photo from November 8, 2020.

If you look in the water where the geese are, you can see the dark reflection of a black cormorant with open wings. I didn’t even notice the cormorant when I took the photo. A purely accidental detail.
