Me apaixonei pela dinâmica de Os Sete Maridos de Evelyn Hugo, logo de cara, foi um livro que me pegou logo nas primeiras páginas, sou apaixonado por ler e escrever desde mais novo, então por se tratar de um livro ficcional biográfico minha atenção foi roubada no instante que Evelyn diz que quer escrever sua biografia - inclusive me atiçou a procurar algumas para ler - Evelyn não é uma vilã ou uma mocinha, ela é apenas um ser humano disposto a fazer de tudo para conseguir chegar onde seus sonhos podem te levar e acima de tudo é capaz de lutar por aquilo que ela ama. E acredite ela vai fazer de tudo para proteger isso.
Acredito que as pessoas são como Evelyn Hugo, não existe só um lado bom ou ruim, cada um vive em prol do seu próprio bem e dos seus desejos, por mais sórdidos que eles possam ser. Mas não foram os amores ou os maridos que me despertaram atenção nessa história. Monique, a escritora, roubou toda a minha atenção. E sem dúvida é o ser mais sábio de todo o livro, aprendeu a lidar com seus problemas de acordo que Evelyn lhe ensinava sua história, e apesar de tudo soube usar tudo a seu favor. Como diz o velho ditado. Pior cego é o que não quer enxergar.
Evelyn Hugo, é mais do que apenas um romance é um ensinamento de como você deve fazer de tudo para conquistar o que deseja, enfrentar as consequências dos seus atos e apreciar ao máximo tudo e todos que você realmente ama.

The woman in the long green dress walked over to the table with champagne. She took one glass for herself and one for her husband she was about to get divorced with in the following few days.
As she looked around in the huge hall, searching for the tall brown haired man, she ran through few faces in the room accidentally. She didn’t recognize anyone at all, but that didn’t bother her. The woman let out a quiet sigh and then she turned in the direction where her husband was.
She was swaying as she was walking over to him. She was on her halfway to him when something, or someone made her look away from the spot she has been watching. The blonde slowly turned a little and looked up onto the balcony. She had a weird feeling inside. A weird feeling she had never felt at all.
The deep eyes saw what they haven’t seen in a while. A woman with red hair and with a skinny figure. She didn’t need to see the other woman’s face and she already knew who was that.
“Oh, here you are Evelyn. Gentlemen this is my soon to be wife-“
“Excuse me,” Evelyn only said and the only thing she could think about was her. The woman who has been standing on the balcony with her back turned to her.
“Evelyn why are you in such a hurry? I am about to introduce you to-“ the man kept trying and Evelyn saw the anger in his eyes already. So she decided to cover it all up.
“I will do this later. I need to use the restroom,” she said kindly. “Love,” she added and pressed a kiss onto the man’s cheek to make the rest believe in that she was so in love with him.
She didn’t even care about any man anymore. Taking her dress and pulling it up only a little to not uncover her ankles, she rushed upstairs but she had to control herself anyways. She knew that any eye from the room could be on her. After all, she was the Evelyn Hugo.
As she arrived, all she saw were just unfamiliar faces which seemed to be so strange. After all, they really were. In the following few seconds a woman with a huge camera stepped in front of her, but Evelyn’s eyes were still searching for that redhead she used to knew.
“Look at this! Evelyn Hugo herself! Could we maybe steal a minute or two?” The woman asked from Evelyn but she wasn’t giving them her attention at all. She was searching for her.
“How do you like this evening miss Hugo?”
Evelyn ignored the question again. She could feel her heart racing in her chest and when she couldn’t find anyone similar to Celia who she thought she had seen few moments before, she didn’t give up.
“Excuse me,” she said only as she saw the same dress she had been rushing after. She gently pushed away the reporter and she started running elegantly after the woman.
“Excuse me. Excuse me,” she kept going until the woman in long dress wasn’t standing in front of her. But she seemed to not know about the blonde yet.
A man gasped. Evelyn looked at him when she realized it was another reporter.
“Can I ask miss-“
Evelyn didn’t listen to him after he started like that. She was already thinking about tapping the woman on her shoulder when the man asked again.
“Doesn’t it bother you? That all anyone talks about when they talk about you are the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo?”
“No.” She said calmly as she looked down at him. He was a lot shorter than her. “Because they are just husbands. I am Evelyn Hugo,” she said only. With her lips widening into a smile she hoped into that the man would be satisfied enough to go away. But men could never get satisfied enough.
The redhead. She heard her. She heard her accent, the name. Her eyes wide opened and Celia slowly, carefully slowly turned around to look into the eyes she had been missing for that long.
The pair of brown and the pair of blue eyes met. Both of the women took a deeper proper breath. Neither of them was prepared for meeting each other, not to speak about the conversation they were both about to have. Or wanted to have. Evelyn kept staring into the woman´s eyes who she had hurt and got hurt by some time ago.
“Evelyn?” Celia asked quietly when the shock washed away from her face partly. Evelyn didn´t even move her head, she kept staring at the woman who was standing in front of her, not believing her own eyes.
“I- I need to use the restroom. Excuse me-” Evelyn said quietly. She panicked. And Celia realized.
Evelyn quickly ran away from her company and as she arrived to the restrooms, she closed the doors behing herself and walked over to the sinks. She looked at herself through the mirror realizing that her face was heating up and that she was blushing. To help herself a little, she refreshed her own wrists when the doors slowly opened one more time.
Trough the mirror, Evelyn could see the redhead. Her face. Her eyes. They were both somewhere where no paparazzi could find them. And after all, Celia was the one who followed Evelyn.
“Good evening Evelyn.”
Her voice was as cold as the rain outside of the huge house they were in. Evelyn could almost hear her own heart drop somewhere into her stomach and she forced herself to swallow and keep her mouth refreshed.
“Good evening Celia,” she said back politely as she had been taught many years ago and then she looked down into the sink again, trying not to fall under the wings of panic which were getting bigger and bigger above her.
None of them spoke up for some time. Celia walked over to the sinks as well and she put her purse onto it, not that far away from Evelyn. She pulled out her makeup bag and looked into the mirror.
“No need for that,” Evelyn said naturally and she was surprised herself what flew out of her mouth. When she realized, all she could do was hoping into that the younger woman haven´t heard her. Looking nowhere else but into the sink, she pretended to wash her hands.
“You are kind,” Celia said only and Evelyn shook her head.
“No, I am not, I am afraid. I just can´t lie,” she said and that made Celia look at her. They shared eye contact. Again. Evelyn was about to ask something, but she changed her mind. She didn´t want to ruin the atmoshpere they both had, even if they were both in the restroom.
“I know that.” Celia said. Even if she wanted to sound kind, she tought she wasn´t kind at all. “Have you arrived with your husband here?” She asked from Evelyn what made her stare at the woman in shock. “Oh, my apologies. You know, it is not New York you have had a movie premiere in two weeks ago-”
That made Evelyn stare at the younger woman in shock.
“How do you know that I had a movie premiere?” She asked her, mostly to tease the younger redhead.
“I saw it in the newspapers,” Celia said quickly. If the older woman would find out that Celia had been saving all of the pieces where Evelyn was mentioned, she would have tought that she is crazy. “And right above that was an information where the publisher mentioned that you are pregnant.” She added and Evelyn took a deep breath. “Is it a lie again?”
“It is,” Evelyn admitted and looked the redhead into her eyes, deeper than ever. “You know that it is all about bussiness. If I would be pregnant, what I am not, I wouldn´t be here tonight,” Evelyn admitted and Celia nodded her head.
After a few minutes of silence, when Celia was decided to walk away from the older woman, she stopped her again.
“You know I am thinking often.”
“What about?” Celia asked back politely and gulped what was too obvious.
“About what would it be like if we had more time. If I could just show you how much I loved you,” Evelyn said what she had in her heart, watching Celia and trying to get her reaction which she had been trying to keep under a mask.
“Don´t worry about that. You showed me enough,” Celia smiled at Evelyn, keeping the eye contact.
“There is no day which would pass without me thinking about you,” Evelyn admitted and then she kept going. “Thinking about the days when you were mine,” she said, knowing that she had said a lot.
Evelyn collected her things and walked over to the doors to exit the restrooms. She had to walk by Celia and when they were just few inches away from each other, the sentence she heard got carved deep into her heart just by hearing it once.
“I am yours. Always,”

✨BOOK REVIEW✨
• The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo • 4/5⭐️
This books was one that I wanted to read since it came out and read it as the book club read for September with my friends @unfilteredreads and @asprins_books . I really enjoyed it and finished it pretty fast, it definitely felt as if Evelyn Hugo was a real person which made the heartbreak feel so real. I did have a bit of an issue with the Latinx representation, or I may say Lack off, in this books but have noticed that it is a concurrent issue with the author, which is such a shame because the writing style is so good.
I do recommend this book, and some of my favorite quotes and moments in the book are also posted . Have you read this book? If yes, what are your thoughts!?

"The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" by Taylor Jenkins Reid is a fascinating read that didn't quite live up to the hype for me. I'm sadden to say I gave it 2 out of 5 stars on goodreads. . I've posted my full reasons on goodreads, but to summarize...I didn't adore this book for the following reasons: A) predictability B) unlikable and unsympathetic protagonist C) lacking prose D) the small twist at the end E) unresolved moments . Don't get me wrong, I loved sections of the book. I read the whole thing in one sitting on my train ride to Quebec City, so it was digestible but...not as nuanced as I thought? I wish I could've loved it more. Seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo…… where do I even begin? For quite some time now I couldn’t stumble upon a book that you just can’t put down, takes you on an emotional roller coaster and when it ends you feel like you have lost something extremely valuable in your life. This book was it. This book is was it. This is the first book I read by The incredible author @tjenkinsreid and to say I was impressed would be an EXTREME understatement. I don’t believe I have ever read or even seen the amount of complexity that was the character of Evelyn Hugo. Reading this masterpiece by Ried, I couldn’t help but fall in love with Evelyn. She is simply intriguing, puzzling, mesmerising and morally questionable. I cannot find words to describe this journey. It is a MUST READ! I thought I’d have loads of time for reading when I got home, but it just seems like I haven’t found it. Happy Monday! These are the books I read for the @contemporaryathon slide to see one more and Starworld is missing since I didn’t have a cover for it since it’s an e-arc • All of these were really amazing! After reading and loving Evidence of the Affair by Taylor Jenkins Reed I decided to pick up The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo and oh my lord as I in for a real treat, if you guys haven’t read them do yourself a favor and do it today! • After finishing Seven Husbands Amazon decided to recommend to recommend Hate Notes and ohhh so good!
