RANKING TGCF CHARACTERS BY HOW LONG I THINK THEY WOULD SURVIVE IN FNAF:
12. QI RONG: dies in night 1 at 12:30 A.M because doesn't listen to Phone Guy's instructions and wanders around the pizzeria. Probably kicked an animatronic because he's bored.
11. LANG QIANQIU: tried to be calm and serene about the situation, but gets anxious and angry and goes fight the animatronics. Leaves the security office and Foxy inmediatly kills him.
10. BEEFLEAF: if they're together they die in night 1 because sqx gets braver at hx's side and is curious, goes to explore and brings hx along. Obviously, they get killed.
9. HE XUAN: they go to the kitchen for a midnight snack at 5:00 A.M and finds Chica there. She kills them.
8. FENG XIN: survives night 1 (he didn't listen to the instructions so is a miracle), but runs out of patience in night 2 and fights the animatronics when they try to enter the office instead of closing the door. He loses.
7. SHI QINGXUAN: if they are alone, they will just panic. They talk to the animatronics and scream. Survives two nights (yeyy!!!), but the third night they're so afraid that they close the door and run out of power.
6. QUAN YIZHEN: doesn't listen to Phone Guy's instructions, falls asleep and somehow survives night 1 and 2 like that. Third night is when he can't sleep because of the noise, fights the animatronics to shut them up and ends up getting killed by the Cupcake.
5. PEI MING: so, this may seem a weird placement, but pm is actually pretty competent in his job. Plus, he makes Chica uncomfortable so he only has to fight three animatronics. But by night 4 he becomes too confident in his surviving skills and forgets to check Foxy as much as he should and dies.
4. FENGQING: they would go together, because is fengqing and they're a dynamic duo. They yell all the time, but also work great together. They die at night 4 because they're in the middle of an argument, forget about the animatronics (it's not the first time this happens) and Golden Freddy kills them because he can't deal with them yelling / making out anymore.
3. MU QING: almost survives 5 nights, but after 4 days of this he gets a bit cocky and he's killed at 5.00 A.M by Golden Freddy.
2. XIE LIAN: ok, listen. Xl is about to die every night, but somehow survives at the last minute. The animatronics are pretty confused about this. He ends the week without problem, but when he goes for his paycheck he is bitten by one of the animatronics and spends the rest of his life paying the hospital debt and dealing with ptsd, which you could argue that is worse than death.
1. LING WEN: she's lw. Job with terrible hours, with lots of multitasking where they don't pay you enough to deal with this shit? That's her territory. Survives 5 nights + the extra night + custom night 20/20 mode.
HONORABLE MENTIONS for characters that didn't make it to the ranking because they're just like that:
-HUA CHENG: he's not trapped with the animatronics, the animatronics are trapped with him. This bitch would survive the first night and come back the next day with a bat made of steel and break every animatronic. Then burns the place down. If this is after xl gets bitten, the animatronics don't survive even a day.
-HUALIAN: they fuck in the security office. The animatronics are uncomfortable and don't approach them.
-SHI WUDU: works one night, then sues the company. He's now the owner of Fazbear Enterteiment. And maybe William's next victim.
-YUSHI HUAN & PEI SU: spent one night there, don't come back because it's not worth it.
-YIN YU: is Phone Guy. He dies at night 4 but special mention anyway because Phone Guy.
-JUN WU: would be the fucking killer. Gets springlocked and makes it everyone's problem.

Now It’s time for me to pitch to everyone the Greatest Crossover of all time
(more popular than whatever the heck Infinity War and Endgame was).
TGCF x ATLA
Spoilers if you haven’t read and watched TGCF and watched The Last Airbender. Now here’s the worldbuilding!
-First things first, Avatars can’t ascend, because they keep reincarnating to continue the cycle, but they’ll occasionally be summoned to Heaven to help bring that 3rd realm balance with whatever help they can offer.
-Fire Lords can’t ascend because… they attacked.
-Heaven didn’t do jack squat to prevent the Air Nomad Genocide mainly because they were busy trying to defeat ghosts plaguing the land.
-The Windmaster wouldn’t be worshipped by the air nomads, but the Earth Kingdom worships Shi Qingxuan. Shi Wudu is worshipped in the Water Tribe and Earth Kingdom, same as the Rainmaster. The Earthmaster? You guessed it, Earth Kingdom. My OC, Leishi Ying, the Thundermaster is worshipped in the Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation. Tl:dr, all Elemental Masters are worshipped in the Earth Kingdom because of it’s diverse Geography and inspiration from ancient China.
-Toph could be a good candidate for the next Earthmaster, she wouldn’t need the shovel but a lot of the Heavenly officials would low key remind her of her parents. So Bumi would totally be valid as the next earthmaster since he’s very intelligent with his creative mind. Heck Katara would be a good candidate for the water master, look at how far she’s come in Book 3.
-I don’t think Sokka would ascend as a martial god, I think he would totally ascend as a Civil God because he’s a strategist. An interaction between him and Ling Wen would be similar to the time he trained under Master Piandao. Now imagine an interaction between him, Fu Yao, and Nan Feng.
-During Xie Lian’s 3rd Ascension to Heaven, a certain Cabbage Merchant happened to be really close in his vicinity… yeah I’ll let you guys guess what happened next.
-Aang and his friends wouldn’t need to ascend, they could just fly straight up there on Appa
Yeah, this was fun. Plz expect Thoughts I had on TGCF Season 2 February! Should I or shouldn’t I, do a part 2?

Part 2 of Mu Qing x Reader: Stop Fucking With My Cat
----------------------------------------------
Mu Qing was left with no other options but to make an announcement in the communication array. The only other female official he knew much about was Ling Wen but he doubted that she had the time to get up to such nonsense, nor would she be inclined to do so if she did. He couldn't go around interrogating every single female Heavenly Official individually, people would think that he had way too much time on his hands and it would make him look terrible in comparison to Feng Xin who was always busy in the mortal world. He went back to his palace to fetch Echo and settled the two of them in his meditation garden next to the koi pond before entering the communication array. Like usual it was bustling with conversation, most of it meaningless but interesting nonetheless. Pei Ming was currently sharing a story about one of his recent sexcapades. Mu Qing listened politely, albeit feeling very awkward, but he couldn't but wonder how Pei Ming ever got anything done when he seemed to have such a one track mind. Honestly it was something he never quite understood, the obsession everyone seemed to have with sex. It felt like Xie Lian and Feng Xin were the only two people in the entire Heaven's who he could reliably talk to without the topic ever coming up. Even if his cultivation method didn't require chastity he still wouldn't want to hear about other people's romantic private lives. It was gross and not something he wanted the mental picture of. Thankfully he was only catching the tail end of the story and when the laughter died down he cleared his throat to get everyone's attention. "I was just wondering if anyone knows who keeps on buying things for my cat Echo?" He asked as he held up Echo for everyone to see, pointing at the pretty pink pearl collar that was once again on his neck. He was met with an awkward silence until Feng Xin spoke up.
"It wasn't me." A round of noise erupted as everyone who was present denied having any knowledge of it.
"Perhaps our General Xuan Zhen has a secret admirer?" Pei Ming teased good naturedly. Mu Qing went red.
"Why would a secret admirer buy things for my cat and not me? They must be fucking dumb." He couldn't help but bite back with an eye roll.
Feng Xin spoke up in Mu Qing's defense. "I agree that Mu Qing doesn't have a secret admirer." Feng Xin paused, before continuing "If anything they probably just feel bad for his cat so they bought him something more normal to wear." A couple of other Heavenly Official's murmured their agreement.
"You've been putting your cat into weird outfits for like a month. What, is the collar not pretty or weird enough for you?" Shi Wudu snorted. "Take the fucking hint. Cats shouldn't wear anything more than a collar, if even that. It's not like he can get lost up here."
"I am not the one who has been dressing him up!" Mu Qing replied defensively. He could already tell that no one believed him. No matter how dumb or ridiculous the claim it /must/ be true if it's about him. He rolled his eyes.
"Well I still think it's cute!" Shi Qingxuan popped in. Mu Qing sighed. Wasn't she supposed to be doing her laundry? He rolled his eyes again.
"Shut up." Shi Wudu snapped, but it was barely heard over the sound of most of the other female Heavenly Officials agreeing that it was indeed cute. Pei Ming laughed.
"Perhaps you should start dressing up your cat after all. It might help you get a girlfriend!" Mu Qing frowned. He could tell that this conversation wasn't going to go anywhere.
"I don't want a girlfriend and I don't want my cat wearing weird shit." He said firmly before dropping out of the communication array. He sat in his meditation garden for a long while just petting Echo and stewing in his own thoughts when suddenly Feng Xin. "What the fuck are doing here? Who let you in." Mu Qing narrowed his eyes. Feng Xin frowned and crossed his arms.
"Why don't you keep your cat inside if you hate him being dressed up so much?"
"Why don't you answer my questions first?"
There was a long silence before Feng Xin finally sighed and said "I'm here to talk to you and I don't know who let me in. It was some guy." Some guy eh? "So why don't you just keep Echo inside?"
"Because he deserves to be able to go wherever he pleases without being harassed." Mu Qing stuck his nose up in the air. Feng Xin rolled his eyes.
"The world doesn't revolve around you and your cat you know."
"Well it doesn't revolve around whoever is dressing him up either! He's not even THEIR cat." Mu Qing looked behind Feng Xin as a young male servant approached.
"General Xuan Zhen, Lady Ling Wen has come to pay you a visit." Mu Qing nodded and motioned for the boy to bring her over. Echo took the opportunity to hop out of his lap and ran off mewing with his hooked tail up in the air towards the peony bush a bit farther back in the meditation garden. Mu Qing let him do his thing and rose to greet Ling Wen as she arrived.
"Lady Ling Wen." Both Mu Qing and Feng Xin paid their respects, which she returned.
"General Xuan Zhen I'm afraid that I really need...Hmm?" Ling Wen spoke but trailed off, staring firmly behind Mu Qing's shoulder. Mu Qing furrowed his brows and turned around to follow her gaze only to see some strange girl crawling between the bushes with Echo in one hand and the other supporting her weight.
"STOP RIGHT THERE!" Mu Qing demanded in his most authoritative voice. The girl froze and looked over at him nervously. "What the fuck do you think you are doing." Mu Qing strutted over and grabbed his cat back. "This is MY cat and MY garden. Explain yourself now." Mu Qing pulled out his saber and pointed it at the girl with one hand while holding Echo close to his chest with the other.
"Nothing! I was just playing with the cat!" The girl sat upright on her knees and put her hands in the air. "I'm sorry!" Feng Xin walked over as back up but paled when he got a good clear look at the girl's face. Mu Qing realized who it was at the same time Feng Xin did.
"Have you not offended the entire Heavens enough already!?" He squinted his eyes at the girl. "Why are all of your followers so fucking crazy?" He spat back at Feng Xin. Feng Xin immediately defended himself.
"She is not my follower!"
"She fucking prayed at your palace within minutes of ascending. I'm pretty sure she's fucking yours." Mu Qing rolled his eyes.
"I'd hardly call that praying! You can't force someone to pray!" Mu Qing huffed as if he didn't believe him but silently knew that Feng Xin was right.
This was Y/N. When she ascended about 6 months ago she immediately got into a fight with Pei Ming, beat him up, made him go to Feng Xin's palace and physically forced him to kowtow to the statue there until Xie Lian showed up and talked her into letting him go. Apparently she thought the God of Immense Masculinity was the God of Respecting Women and she prayed aloud for the God of Immense Masculinity to teach Pei Ming how to respect women while she slammed his face into the ground repeatedly. Then she claimed to be the God of Immense Masculinity herself, cursed out Pei Ming and Feng Xin for being useless and accused them of not being real Gods, stripped naked to fight a few of Feng Xin's security officers because she "didn't give a damn about making them feel comfortable when they don't give a damn about making people in the human realm feel comfortable" and then got arrested by officers from Jun Wu's palace. Most Heavenly Official's didn't know what to think of it when they heard. Mu Qing thought it was funny and sad that Feng Xin sent his security to deal with her when he could've handled it so much quicker but also wasn't surprised. He would let a naked lady burn down his entire palace before he would personally step in to physically stop her.
If it wasn't for Xie Lian (who was fond of her because she was actually one of his worshippers at Puqi Shrine), Pei Ming (who probably only wanted her to stick around so he could try to seduce her again) and Feng Xin (after he realized how the other two wanted the matter handled) pleading on her behalf she would've been the second quickest to get kicked out of heaven after ascending. It was one thing to beat up another God, Feng Xin and him did it to each other all of the time, but forcing a God to pray to another God and falsely claiming to be a God you weren't were big taboos. Despite being pardoned she had ruined her Heavenly career before it had even started and was a pariah. The one and only time Mu Qing had ever seen her was at her trial, but it was hard to forget the face attached to that scandal. Still it was more fun to claim that she was Feng Xin's though, so he continued to do so just to mess with him. "You need to take responsibility for your followers actions! I knew that you were the one behind this."
Y/N spoke up again softly. "I'm sorry I thought this was a public park and I just like cats. I didn't mean to trespass." She gave what she hoped was an innocent smile.
Mu Qing wasn't convinced. "Bullshit, this place is crawling with guards. What did you do to them?"
"I never once saw a guard, maybe you should get better ones." Y/N pouted and crossed her arms over her chest. Mu Qing knew that was bullshit. His guards would never dare to slack off. Either she incapacitated them or she was able to sneak past them somehow. Mu Qing called over the servant boy and told him to check-in with all of the guards on shift.
"If a single hair on any of their heads is injured you will pay for it." Mu Qing darkly threatened. Why was everyone sneaking into his palace today? It was one thing for Feng Xin to "sneak" in, Mu Qing had told his guards long ago that he doesn't give a fuck what Feng Xin does in his palace and to let him be. He trusted Feng Xin not to steal or break anything and it was a fun part of the little irritating games they played with each other. Y/N though? Definitely an unwelcome guest who should have never made it this far without being challenged.

I read this theory about how sqx and hx reincarnated into wwx and lz, which I liked but made me think and think and come up with my own theory.
Friendly reminder this is only supported by the voices in my head.
Spoilet alert for tgcf and mdzs
Okay so sqx eventually died as human and let's assume he did reincarnated. Now who do we know that loves fan and have a big brother who also ended up dying. That's right, sqx reincarnated as Nie Huaisang. His fascination for fans came from his past life, in which he used to use a fan as weapon and was powerful with it. This type of thing sticks with you.
But in this life time he has karma to clean, this karma is related to his brother, all the confused feelings that he had regarding all he did, how yet he didn't, he couldn't take revenge. This time is different, this time he could take revenge on his brother. He could have a more easy and swiftly closure with his brother, something that in his previous life he could never.
So he clear his karma by taking revenge for his brother this time.
Meanwhile we can assume or not that Nie Mingjue is the reincarnation of Shi wudu, his karma being quite heavy, besides the whole saber thing while alive, war, being betrayed, killed, and finally years as a resentful corpse. Heavy karma for a heavy thing that he did.
Going back to our beloved sqx. So after clear his karma as nhs, after he died he reincarnated in normal and peaceful lives, after all he deserved receive a lot of good karma.
That until he get in modern days, as he reincarnated as this nerd dude obsessed by a novel...
Now there's one thing missing to sqx and this is He xuan. Hx "lived" for years after sqx died, reincarnated and died again. Untill he himself "died" that would be more like his form as hx cease to exist, disappears, but nothing truly disappears, everything is energy and energy is transformed. So he next life form is naturally a bit different, cause is not exactly a reincarnation, cause he was already dead. So he ended up as a character in a novel, a fucked up character with tragic and dark life, he has karma to pay too. Being trapped in a novel is like being trapped in a loop, at least untill external forces interfere. As he was a ghost, yin energy he naturally ended up in a yin body as a half demon.
So yes, He Xuan now is Luo Binghe.
And Shi Qing Xuan is Shen Yuan.
Shen Yuan fascination for lbh comes from past lives even though he could never realize that.
Time for they meet. He transmigrates. One again he's is in a body full of magic, all he lost has returned to him. His powers, a brother, he can use his fan without anyone picking on him, as he wishes, and it just misses he xuan, now lbh. Than after the whole thing in svsss they finally are able to be together, with all karmas cleared, they can finally be happy together.

Book 4! I am having too many thoughts at once! I need to split this up a bit.
1. Shi Qingxuan and the Reverend of empty words
I did not see that coming! I devoured the book in basically two sittings because the mystery here had me hooked and it did not disappoint! As it seems to be the theme everyone is miserable and there is no perfect solution. Shi Wudu is still the bad guy here. I get wanting to safe ones brother (and I too love Shi Qingxuan) but he dragged someone else into it and doomed all of them by doing so. The actual earth master (who we never got to meet if I understood correctly), He xuan, shi Qingxuan and shi Wudu himself all suffered for it. not to mention he xuans loved ones and family. the only redeeming thing he did for Shi Qingxuan was baiting he xuan into killing him himself, so shi Qingxuan didn't have to do it. I decided to believe it was calculated and not madness. I still hope for Shi Qingxuan and He xuan to become friends again. They had such a close relationship.
2. Hualian
AHHHHHH! WE GOT SO MANY GOOD ONES!
Hua Cheng just being in the background doing his thing was delightful and funny to read. His little sassy comments made me laugh out loud. He really decided to stay close and just change outfits when appropriate, distracting Xie Lian with his good looks and play with his food.
Then of course the kiss! I love that Xie Lian took the initiative here! and Hua Cheng was just completely stunned, something that doesn't happen often, I believe.
The coffin... Listen! It's giving just-one-bed and I'm here for it!
and then of course we got two full on make out sessions. ah sorry, trading spiritual energy sessions I meant to say! They deserve it to be honest. But I also think Hua Cheng would lose his mind if he knew what they did the night mount tonglu opened. (does he know? people told xl that his lips hold evil qi...)
I am eagerly waiting for them to kiss and mean it!
3. Lin Weng and the brocade
I'm gonna be honest, I didn't really understand what happened here. I know the events that occured but I don't know why Lin Weng is involved. Quan Yizhen is an absolutely adorable menace tho and I love him with all my heart. It seems that the storyline will continue, so I'm gonna wait for what happens next.
I really missed Mu Qing and Feng Xin this book!

Shi Qingxuan is throwing a slumber party. All the gods are invited. There's just one catch. It's a girl's-only slumber party. To get in, they have to come in their female form. So who's attending? Let's go! 😆 (Note, these are just my opinions, feel free to add yours):
Ming Yi - Ming Yi no longer has anything to lose. She's been doing thing for way too long now. She shows up before everyone else so she can devour twice as much food.
Pei Ming - Much to Shi Qingxuan's absolute horror, Pei Ming is the next guest to show up. The famous is general is in fact shameless enough to switch genders so she can check out what the other gods look like as girls. 😎 Besides, much to her pleasure, her female form is sexy and she wants to see how many lesbians she can pull.
Ling Wen - Pei Ming dragged her along. She doesn't have time for this and has too much work to do. However, it is a nice change to have a goddess gathering, especially with all of the issues with her gender and the misogynistic times. She gets to hang out with the chill goddesses in heaven without too much effort on her part since she gets to come as herself. She needs the rest and self love.
Shi Wudu - She was surprisingly very hard to drag into this party. "If I go along with this it will only encourage Shi Qingxuan's nonsense" she said. She showed up anyway cause all her best friends were going and her sibling was hosting. It would be rude not to go. Of course she's shown up as the best dressed gal, with a slit in her dress and everything. Pei Ming fails at pretending not to oogle her. The three tumours definitely spend the rest of the night gossiping and giggling like mean girls.
Xie Lian - Let's face it, Xie Lian is coming as a cross dressing dude. MXTX was very explicit about how Xie Lian feels about being a woman. I think all the emphasis was to make sure no one got it twisted. Xie Lian does not turn into a girl to have sex, he is 100% a gay man. He is a man who's in love with a man and it's something he does not want to erase. Shi Qingxuan will make an allowance for him, but he's definitely crossdressing in a pretty white dress.
Hua Cheng - We're not gonna explain how he got there but he's attending anyway. He will be joining his cross dressing husband. Hua Cheng is probably more thrilled about crossdressing than Xie Lian is. He's got earrings, heels, a sexy red dress that Xie Lian can't stop staring at (and feeling a little jealous when others' stare. Probably gonna end up leaving that party early so they can do something about all the worked up feelings Xie Lian is gonna have).
Mu Qing - Mu Qing heard about the party and had no intention of intending. Then he heard Xie Lian would be there. He helped Xie Lian into his dress because Xie Lian is terrible at makeup. Xie Lian insisted he come too. Mu Qing came too. She's a little shy at the party. She gets even shyer when everyone tells her how pretty she is. They're amazed by it. All those compliments send her hiding somewhere so she can social recharge.
Feng Xin - He also had no plans on going till he heard Mu Qing was going so of course he showed up. She was also stunned by how pretty Mu Qing looked. Mu Qing helped her fix her hair cause it was a mess. Pause at the awkward moment where they're closer than they expected to each other. Split to opposite ends of the party. Keep bumping into each other. End the party kind of curled up together cause it's just warmer that way and they're still getting used to their new bodies.
Quan Yizhen - Got invited and came as a dude. There was nothing anyone could do about it. Quan Yizhen didn't know how to change into his female form and he didn't see why he should. Someone got Yin Yu. Quan Yizhen finally switched to female. She was absolutely adorable. Especially how she followed Yin Yu around for the rest of the night. Qué curly haired girl in the most adorable robes marching after Yin Yu everywhere.
Yin Yu - Somehow found himself bundled to a party with Crimson Rain and given spiritual powers so he could switch genders. All because his former junior was causing trouble (yet again, surprise surprise. Yin Yu doesn't get paid enough for this). Qi Ying is even cuter as a girl though so Yin Yu can't really complain. She pets her hair and they spend the rest of the slumber party together.
Qi Rong - (So somehow the calamities are attending too). She just wanted to show off being the hottest girl in the room. Failed miserably. Tried to beat Ming Yi at eating all the food in anger. Failed miserably yet again. Cried to Guzi 💀 (Who was allowed in since he's just a kid). Got chased around by Lang Qianqiu. Ended the party curled up fast asleep with her arms protectively around Guzi in a hidden unnoticed spot at the slumber party.
Lang Qianqiu - Didn't really want to go (Busy dealing with teenage angst), all that changed when he heard Qi Rong was at the party. She stormed in just like her male counterpart always does (like a wrecking ball!). Chased Qi Rong everywhere. Got distracted blushing over Xie Lian. Hua Cheng noticed. Hua Cheng proceeds to give a display of how close he and Xie Lian are. Lang Qianqiu backs off after that. Gets with Shi Qingxuan with heavy drunk singing about angst, love and innocence shattered.
Pei Su - Got pardoned for the night so she could be Pei Ming's little helper. She ended up spending most of the night with Banyue, blushing at her compliments and feeding each other snacks.
Banyue - Was excited that she could attend. Followed Xie Lian everywhere and happily did whatever she was doing. Got distracted when she saw Pei Su. Fawned over how pretty she looked.
Yushi Huang (Rain Master) - She was the last to show as she was surprised anyone was inviting her for something. She also doesn't get out much and had to be kicked from her farm so she could have a bit of fun for once in her beautiful life. She settled beside Ling Wen and actually enjoyed the event.
Jian Lan - Was told no babies allowed and ditched.
Xuan Ji - Was actually given an invitation (cause Shi Qingxuan hadn't realised Pei Ming would show up). Ends up bonding with female Pei Ming who she's ranting to about her horrible ex 💀. Pei Ming has no idea she's Xuan Ji cause they don't exchange names.
Jun Wu - He heard about the party. He thought it was cute. He did not attend. (You'd think wearing a new face wouldn't matter as much. He likes keeping an eye on his favourite son but he's not that desperate. 💀 - I get the feeling Jun Wu wouldn't even know what to do with a female body. He's barely gotten through studying his own).

My thought after skimming NPAB
“No Paths Are Bounds” by CataclysmicEvent could be the most popular TGCF fanfic right now due it being translated into many language. It basically retelling the story of TGCF with some alteration (most notably is Xie Lian being blinded by curse shackle).
To be honest I'm not really into 'retelling story' because basically we just like re-reading stories that already exist. Total chapters are 152 so the story is quite long and I don't have time to devote my time reading it due to my IRL stuffs (as you can see how rarely I post on tumblr lately, right?).
But I found the author's twitter post about some of the breakdown of the story, summaries that were fully discarded or retained-in-background. Then I was intrigued by the author’s portrayal of Shi Wudu.
I also found that the author's most favorite characters are Shi Wudu and Mu Qing (which turns out that we share the same interest) so yeah...
I ended up skimming their name through those 152 chapters.
And here’s my thought…
First, keep in mind that I didn't read the whole thing and just skimmed it, so my thought will be limited to that. Don’t take my words as reference, it would be better if you judge it by reading it yourself.
Plus, this will be heavily subjective and personal.
At least what I want to say first is that this fanfic is worthy enough of being loved by many.
As for Shi Wudu, there is noncon stuff with Jun Wu.
Yeah, this fic contains #junshui but in unhealthy way.
The premise is interesting because often I also have ideas for angsty #junshui content where Jun Wu blackmailed Shi Wudu for his fate switching deed.
The author further made that it was Jun Wu himself who taught Shi Wudu about switching fate.
Despite #junshui, the actual pairing is obviously #peishui. Yeah, I agree with the author that Shi Wudu deserves a happy ending.
Sometimes later it’s implied via Shi Wudu that Jun Wu is also interested to Mu Qing.
Now, I’ll be honest, I like pairing #junqing more than #junshui because I'm invested in PeacefulDiscord’s fanfic about them (yeah, it’s angsty pairing as well with possibility #fengqing in the end and the fanfic is likely got removed as of now due to the author wants to revise it).
Back to NPAB, i feel this part is a bit nonsensical because Mu Qing is the older god than Shi Wudu, he’s been around in Jun Wu’s court more than Shi Wudu. So why would Jun Wu only interested in Mu Qing now?
Of course there is a term that attraction can come later, but I still find it hard to be logically convinced.
There was a moment when Jun Wu appreciated Mu Qing's beauty, but why wasn't that done a long time ago when the latter first ascended?
I think it would be better that #junqing happened before #junshui, or that it didn't happen at all.
Speaking of Mu Qing, apart from being the martial god of southwest, it is very interesting that NPAB Mu Qing is also the god of medicine (medical master).
Medical masters themselves mentioned a little by MXTX in the novel.
It’s free real estate to me, so I'm often excited to create an OC based on that role.
But in NPAB, that role was taken by Mu Qing.
In canon, Mu Qing is obviously not a medical master, there is absolutely no implication that he is a healer.
But in NPAB, that is his role. To be honest, I'm excited, because Mu Qing’s role becomes even more prominent than his canon counterpart.
I particularly love this part:
Tumblr media
NPAB Mu Qing is basically Unohana Retsu Yachiru of TGCF and healer Mu Qing became a quite popular fanon in TGCF fandom.
Back on Shi Wudu, the Black Water arc is more complex in NPAB than in canon. Both Shi Wudu and He Xuan were actually victims of Ju Wu's scheme, with the former even got SA’d by the emperor.
I love the fight between He Xuan and Shi Wudu inside Mount Tonglu, the truth was being revealed there and it eventually ended tragically with Shi Wudu’s death however…
Next chapter feels like a joke, probably a mock up chapter with Shi Wudu being transmigrated to modern world and met Shen Yuan who mistook him for a cosplayer.
This part is so random, after riding the angsty with Shi Wudu, he was suddenly in a supposedly comedic situation, WTF??
I thought that Shi Wudu will be permanently stuck in modern world with Shen Yuan, which will be… cringed imo (his character profile is not suitable for comedic situation atm).
But chapters later, I’m glad that he is back into TGCF world, revived by no other than Mei Nianqing.
Let me just pretend that his moment with Shen Yuan is just a dream… or does not exist.
Then, there is also beefleaf…
Which I think is not great idea to give them a lovechild during the course of NPAB’s TGCF.
I’ll be honest here, I have never been a fan of badass pregnant lady troupe.
I mean, no matter how badass you are, no matter how strong or overpowered, imb4, hax, etc you are... when you’re pregnant, you will be a liability in any dangerous situation! Deal with it!
No matter how capable you are, you and your unborn child will remain a matter of concern for the party.
Which automatically translated “a burden”.
I appreciate pregnant mother more who realize their limitations and choose to support the party in a safe place.
That's why I think that a 9 months pregnant The Boss in the middle of the battlefield is ridiculous (Metal Gear reference).
Reading: <fighting> <badass> <danger> “oh the baby!?”  <fighting> <badass> <danger> “oh the baby!?” are getting on my nerves in all my life in enjoying fictions (JUST STAY INSIDE YOUR GODDAMN HOUSE, BITCH!!)
If you really need a representation of badass woman, or badass mother, do it when she's not pregnant.
In fact, badass mother with a child/children (who was already born of course) is still underrepresented than badass preggers.
I prefer beefleaf to have their kid(s) post canon.
Or (tbh), I prefer fengqing who get the children (Nan Feng-Fu Yao twins AU LOL).
Now talking about the OC, NPAB has quite a lot of OC(s) but right now I want to talk about Zhao Beitong first. Evie created her to serve as a mentor figure for Hua Cheng. Her role as the master of mount Tonglu, mother of ghost kings, the genius blacksmith who forged many celestial powerful weapons, the queen of Wuyong & Jun Wu’s wife AND GUOSHI (Tonglu Hudie).
To be honest, as interesting as she is, I’m not a fan of her character.
I found that her role is quite too much, my personal opinion is that she is a bit Sue-ish, despite the author claimed that the OCs are simply meant to be supporting characters to help the plot progression.
I’d rather have her roles get split into two characters. One as Hua Cheng (and He Xuan) mentor and another as queen of Wuyong/Jun Wu’s wife (via flashback/posthumous character).
The mentor could be from one/two of Jun Wu’s deputies who turn into the mountain (make them powerful enough to be able to project human form) while the queen’s story can be told by Mei Nianqing in addition when he told Xie Lian and Hua Cheng about Jun Wu’s past in canon.
Being Jun Wu’s former Guoshi & Hua Cheng’s mentor already put her fighting prowess alone comparable to them.
Tumblr media
Which means the like of Pei Ming, fengqing and other martial gods/combatants are apparently inferior to her.
Then I also don’t like the story of her being the executor of the gods in previous heavenly dynasty while Jun Wu orchestrating from behind (as mastermind).
All for the sake of her grief as losing mother.
That is like the effective way to tell the audience how strong & badass your OC by carrying out the massacre while also place her in innocent light (we don’t blame in her, whilst sparing her from responsibility of her action).
Tumblr media
You only feel pity to her, regardless what terrible things she is capable to do.
All because of “I’4m A wRoNg3d m0th3r!!!”
Let’s be honest, Zhao Beitong’s motherhood issue got too repetitive in her story to the point where I got (yawn).
Perhaps that’s the problem of story too much tell, another reason where I can appreciate the element of surprise of MXTX's storytelling.
I’m not defending the previous (gen of) gods, as MXTX herself implied that they were corrupt canonically.
But I prefer the canon version where Jun Wu is more barbaric in slaughtering them by his own hand, Jun Wu's narrative as a strong villain is more accomplished well for it demonstrated his strength as well as his cruelty (regardless how corrupt the victims themselves were).
I think it’s fine if you want to put your OC in some light by having her contributed in forging deadly weapons, but I’d rather have Jun Wu did the execution as you already made your OC prominent enough as a blacksmith.
EDIT (27/12/22): Okay, after re-skimming again, the ones who did the heavenly slaughter were both Zhao Beitong and Jun Wu, but still...
I don't know what criteria the author sees of prominent female character, the author created Zhao Beitong as an icon of such.
But personally, characters like Ling Wen and Yushi Huang have been quite woke for me, because even though they are not physically strong as combatants, they are both very competent. MXTX prefers characters who are competent and irreplaceable than just being everything.
At this point, I’d rather have the author to fully utilize Jun Wu’s three other deputies than making over-fully packed OC.
Guru kebanyakan drama, kalo kayak gini kan mending Hua Cheng dikasih guru macam eyang Sinto Gendheng wae -_-
Though, perhaps most of you already think that Zhao Beitong serves her role well as an OC, because her story is in harmony with the narrative written in the NPAB:
The tragic mentor/fallen goddess who aids the protagonists in defeating the villain while also getting her revenge.
But my personal preference is to prefer a character that aren't too excessively tragic/dramatic.
I’m actually aware that NPAB’s elaborated style of narrative is not limited to Zhao Beitong alone, but also to many canon characters.
However, that’s how despite some existing plot holes, I appreciate MXTX’s subtlety in story telling.
At this point, I’ll be more blatantly honest here, I found Zhao Beitong more annoying than NPAB!Shi Qingxuan.
Let’s go back to the positive one, I love how the fic had addressed this mulian’s issue:
Tumblr media
And then in NPAB, we have this:
Tumblr media
My favorite chapter that moved me was when Mu Qing became MVP in the battle against Bai Wuxiang. Bai Wuxiang then infected Mu Qing with Death Qi, the protagonists’ party almost lost their most reliable healer because of that and then the lake scene with fengqing & hualian.
NPAB have delves into deep emotions with multiple characters even early on than what MXTX had written (particularly, Hua Cheng’s POV).
I like the NPAB version of the final battle more than the canon because the former involves more characters to contribute in fighting Jun Wu and Bai Wuxiang, instead of relying too much on Hua Cheng and Xie Lian alone.
Then, regarding the epilogue (post Jun Wu’s defeat), although it is great to have multiple parties involved in final battle. In the end we will find a typical ending "happily ever after for everyone" yay.
Which is a bit... childish to my taste (sorry).
Especially in the part when it comes time for Shi Wudu to receive a formal punishment for his crime on He Xuan regarding fate switching.
I don't know why I don't like the way it is handled. Like witnessing the court process in our world, but in written form (narration).  Shi Wudu’s reciting all his sin verbally, can’t we just skip this part? (yawn)
At least yeah, he doesn’t get away with his crimes on He Xuan.
And the ending has Pei Ming as the new heavenly emperor which is neat.
So… yeah, that’s my impression of a fraction of the NPAB, I wished I have my time to read the entire story but yeah…
Anyway, apart from the things that I’m not a fan of, this fanfic can’t be called a mediocre in quality. The author is really devoted in writing this story as a form of love for TGCF written by MXTX herself.
Ciao.

Uses of Deception: He Xuan and Shi Wudu (TGCF) and Furina/Focalors (Genshin impact)
*Spoilers for TGCF/Heaven Official’s Blessing novel and Genshin Impact Archon Quest: Masquerade of the Guilty*
*Note: This is merely an opinion piece. Take what I say with a grain of salt. Also it said it has mature content but it may not seem that way as the way it was written. I just put it there just as a precaution*
If I had a nickel for every time a character with some kind of relation with water and used deception to hide something from a high power, I had three nickels. It isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened three times and two of them were in the same fandom.
Shi Wudu's use of deception.
Let's start with Shi Wudu from TGCF. If you're not familiar with who he is or haven't read the novel, he's Shi Qingxuan's older brother and the water master. He is also the water tyrant and part of the three tumors alongside Pei Ming and Ling Wen. He hasn't made an official appearance in the donghua yet.
The reason why Shi Wudu uses deception is because of Shi Qingxuan. When both brothers were mortal, Shi Qingxuan was haunted by a creature called the Reverend of Empty Words and was cursed with an ill fate and misfortune. As a way to protect Shi Qingxuan from the Reverend of Empty Words, Shi Wudu switches Shi Qingxuan's fate with someone (He Xuan) with the same name and birthdate as Shi Qingxuan to deceive the Reverend of Empty Words. By doing this, the Reverend of Empty Words is tricked into going after He Xuan, making his life a living hell while Shi Qingxuan lives He Xuan's fate and ascends as a god and lives happily and is safe and sound. What Shi Wudu had done was keep hidden from almost everyone in the three realms (the ghost world, the mortal realm, and heaven), even from Shi Qingxuan, until the Black Water Story Arc, which resulted in his death.
He Xuan's use of deception
Next, we have He Xuan, another character from TGCF. As previously stated, He Xuan's fate was switched with Shi Qingxuan's, which resulted in the Reverend of Empty Words going after him. Before that, he was a promising scholar that was destined to ascend into heaven. But with the Reverend of Empty Words haunting him, his life falls apart. To sum up: he failed his state exams because the officials hid his test scores and replaced them was blank exams, his sister and fiancé were kidnapped by a very wealthy person and forced the be concubines (which ended up with them dying), He Xuan try to get justice and accused them for adultery, it backfired and he got thrown in jail instead, while he was in prison, he was beaten and starved, his mother (age 70+)died while he was in prison while his father (also 70+) work to support the family and was barely hanging in there by the time He Xuan got out, when He Xuan decided to go into business to help his father, the other merchants ganged up on him and he got drowned debt. He died from exhaustion after he decided to kill everyone who harmed him. After he had died, Shi Wudu confirmed He Xuan's death and after He Xuan spent some time as a ghost, he learned who Shi Wudu was. Eventually, he became the supreme, Black Water Sinking Ships ( or Ship-Sinking Black Water or Black Water Submerging Boats depending on which version you may have come across).
Here's where He Xuan's use of deception comes in. Deception was used in his revenge plot to get back at Shi Wudu for what he did. He infiltrated the heavens, going undercover as the Earth Master and waiting for centuries to gather information and plan his revenge while having Hua Cheng as an accomplice and acting as a spy for him while maintaining his cover in the heavens. He even had many clones set up in heaven to gain information. He used deception to help him get revenge and justice for his family for Shi Wudu's actions.
Furina's / Focalors' use of deception
In Genshin Impact ( a video game), Furina/ Focalors is the Hydro Archon ( a god that can control water) of the nation of Fontaine and is the god of justice. Originally, Furina and Focalors were one being ( the original Focalors when she gained a human form and later became the Hydro archon).
Focalors' deception was part of a plan to deceive the Heavenly principles and save Fontaine from doom. Like many Genshin players who reached the Masquerade of the Guilty Archon Quest, Focalors' predecessor, Egeria, used the power of the Primordial Sea to create a new race of humans in Fontaine, and the action was deemed sin and the people sinners from the Heaven Principles. It also leads to a prophecy of the destruction of Fontaine, where the people will be dissolved in water and leave the hydro archon weeping on the throne. To save the people of Fontaine, Focalors split her being into her divinity (still named Focalors) and her human self, Furina. Focalors had Furina be an actor to pretend to be the god of justice and Hydro Archon to fulfill the Hydro Archon’s role in the prophecy and let it play out to trick the Heavenly Principles into thinking the prophecy will be/ has been fulfilled. Furina was also placed under a curse so she could not die as long as Focalors' divinity still existed so she could stay alive long enough until the prophecy was fulfilled, the people of Fontaine were safe and she could live a happy life afterward. Furina maintained her role for 500 years and never told anyone about it. Although she didn't know Focalors' full plan, except to play her role as an Archon. While Focalors hid in the Oratrice Mecanique D'analyse Cardinale to create enough energy to destroy the Hydro Archon's divine throne/place among Celestia while sacrificing herself in the process. Doing so will return the Hydro Archon's authority to whom it was originally stolen from, the Hydro sovereign/Hydro Dragon, Neuvillette (the current one) so he could forgive the people of Fontaine's sin, saving them from being dissolved in the water.
Conclusion:
Everyone here uses deception as part of their own plans and they have similar motives to one another. Shi Wudu and Furina/ Focalors wish to protect/save someone ( Shi QingXuan and the people of Fontaine) While Furina/ Focalors and He Xuan wish to bring justice to someone they care about (He Xuan's loved ones and himself and give back Neuvillette's full power and the continuation of existence for the people of Fontaine (Fontaine's original Justice)).
However how they put their plans into action somewhat differs, especially in what they chose to sacrifice. Shi Wudu chose to sacrifice He Xuan to trick the Reverend of Empty Words into going after him in order to protect Shi Qingxuan. In He Xuan's case, he sacrifices his time to thoroughly plan out his revenge scheme. Although his relationship with Shi Qingxuan could count as a sacrifice I feel like it would depend on how you look at it. When He Xuan started his revenge plan, he gave Shi Qingxuan many outs so he could just go after Shi Wudu alone and adjusted his plans so that Shi Qingxuan would be relatively alright. But in the end, He Xuan still killed Shi Wudu. While Furina sacrifices her time for 500 years, she also sacrifices her sense of identity for pretending to be someone she’s not, and ultimately her happiness until her role ends to trick the Heavenly Principles. While behind the scenes, Focalors sacrifices herself to give her authority back to Neuvillette so the people’s sins can be forgiven and Fontaine can be saved.
Another thing I want to point out is the morality of these situations. Furina/Focalors' use of deception is on the righteous side of things as everything they did was to save their nation. While Shi Wudu’s and He Xuan’s use of deception was in more gray areas. Shi Wudu wanted to protect Shi Qingxuan from the Reverend of Empty Words but he chose to use an innocent man who wasn’t even involved in the first place and let him experience all kinds of hell. While He Xuan seeks vengeance against Shi Wudu, it can be easily justified as Shi Wudu was the one to change He Xuan’s fate and let misfortune befall him and his loved ones. But let’s face it, they both have justifiable reasons for doing what they did, it was just their actions in the situation were fucked up.
Actually, all three of them were in fucked up situations and they were doing what they feel was right for them to do.
Anyway, it was really interesting how each of them was related to water and they had used deception in some way or another. I wonder if they have some mythology related to or something about it culturally as the author of TGCF, Mo Xiang Tong Xiu or MXTX, and the game company that created Genshin Impact, Hoyoverse, are from China and elements in their plot in the lore/stories are based on the culture.
That’s all for now
- Ria

I have a modern au idea that I'm 100% sure I'm not gonna write it so will left it here for everyone
So, it's been 15 years since destruction of Xianle business umpire and scandalous dismissal from FBI (or something of sort) it's heir Xie Lian. His friends turned from him, his former boss Jun Wu was merciful to drop all charges, but nobody could blame Xie Lian more than himself.
After years of picking up garbage Xie Lian is suddenly found by Ling Wen (president's secretary, why on earth is she doing this) who offers him a position of a war history professor in FBI Academy and Xie Lian is willing to try, hoping he'll not meet his former colleagues. Besides, he's always loved to tell people about ancient wars, to be paid for it seems tempting. First few days are alright – then Xie Lian finds himself in a middle of a mess with some maniac kidnapping young engaged girls.
Mu Qing and Feng Xin, of course, are partnered (not by their will, believe me) FBI agents whose case it is. They choose to ignore Xie Lian at first but he comes with new and new clues and evidence that really help (and sometimes they fight so much they miss obvious things. he doesn't). Some of them he definitely couldn't find without serious shadow word connections.
And soon enough they see Xie Lian in some incredibly expensive boutique with a man whose face they know all too good. Hua Cheng is convincing Dianxia that the clothes he's buying for him is not costly untill Xie Lian yields. Next time Xianle trio see each other, Xie Lian has a brand new phone with a two black dice trinket, new white hoody (Hua Cheng actually bought about a dozen for they're definitely gonna be torn, stained or something else), new jeans and Xie Lian seems to be absolutely okay with it.
Long story short, Four Great Calamities are four great crime lords: White No-Face is a drug lord, who, everyone believes, Xie Lian killed – with dozen other people; every smuggling operation is related to Black Water (no idea who he is, what he wants, what he looks like); Hua Cheng has greatest casino network in the country (there definitely are illegal ones too, but police can't find them) and he is closest to mafia cause he's protecting those who works for him and their families; Qi Rong is kidnapping people for money, he's not a big deal but quite a pain in the ass
Jun Wu is a president (former FBI director) with his exhausted secretary Ling Wen, Pei Ming is a present day FBI director. Shi Wudu is a treasury secretary, whose brother Shi Qingxuan finally stops escaping from bodyguard. Though new guy Ming Yi is gloomy, they seem to become friends
soo, that's it. what do you think?

Weird TCGF x MDZS crossover dream
Started with Lan Qiren giving a lecture about how cultivators tend to carry bonds through reincarnation, so people should be careful about who they develop intimate relationships with because those relationships last forever. Wei Wuxian asks if they always are the same relationships, and Qiren states that no, the intimacy of the bond carries through but what type of bond that exist can differ. You can be passionate lovers in one life, deadly enemies in the next, then parent and child in the third.
There's a bunch of shenanigans with WWX insisting that Lan Wangji and him are destined lovers in every life. Jiang Cheng was oddly encouraging of this view, very much out of character. (Turns out WWX is Xie Lian's reincarnation and Lan Wangji is Qi Rong's!)
Jin Zixuan pursing Jiang Yanli, who's very much against getting married to him at all, and only staying in the engagement because of her mother. She's actually very relieved when one of JZX's attempts at courtship screws up so badly that WWX punches him in the face and their engagement ends. (JYL is actually Yin Yu and JZX is Quan Yizhen.)
The Yi City Trio are the Three Tumors (Xiao Xingchen is Shi Wudu, A-Qing is Pei Ming and Xue Yang is Ling Wen. Song Lan is Shi Qingxuan.)
There's a time skip to post-canon and we see Nie Huaisang in Lotus Pier. He's relaxing beside the lake, but there's a point where he starts looking at his reflection in the water. He asks if it was worth it, if he's managed to make up for all the regrets he had in a past life. Looking into the water, you can see White No Face's reflection there. Then Jiang Cheng comes up and tells him to stop ruminating over the past, that he should work on enjoying the future now that his revenge is complete.
Also turns out Jiang Cheng was Mei Nianqing. And he's the only one who completely remembers the past and knows who everyone was! (Which puts an interesting spin on his encouragement of WWX/LWJ.)

TGCF SPOILERS (Book 3)
---‐----------------------
Without further ado, thoughts on chapters 153-157!!!
Sjjsjdjdjf, the three tumors give me the same vibes as those super popular, but very problematic cliques you see in schools, lol
Speaking of three tumors I STILL MISS SHI WUDU JEISJDJDJDJ Every day I live in a fantasy that someone, somehow, magically got the powers to resurrect him and he's alive in a dungeon somewhere (gotta make it a little realistic, yknow? *she says in utter denial*)
SHUT UP! THIS LINE SENT SHIVERS DOWN MY SPINE OH MY GOD
“Very well! You said I couldn’t reach that high. Then, might I ask you: had the prominence of the Palace of Jing Wen at its peak ever reached even the knees of my Palace of Ling Wen??”
So hopefully, I'm remembering things right about events in Xuli: pei ming was a general there, his people wanted him to rebel and become king, he refused, Ling wen was from the same place who sold shoes and tricked a man into killing himself (brocade story), also wrote multiple beautiful lit pieces and thus ascended. I don't think we've been told yet how Xuli truly fell, but I'll do a refresh read tomm just in case!
Also the Jing Wen and Ling Wen story was just sooo utterly fascinating to me, because it centers around a person whose insecurities acc had a much greater repercussion than he realized. See, had he not made her ascend, she wouldn't have played such a major role in hurting so many people after her ascension (refer to brocade robe incident) and all of this was done for what? To satisfy his inferiority complex. It's kinda crazy to see how everything plays out in the long run, yknow?
WAIT WHAT????? I did not see this coming dudhjdjxkdk THIS DUDE WAS A STONE STATUE TALKING???
However, the one who was questioning Xie Lian wasn’t actually a “man”, but an extremely coarsely-made stone statue of a man, its body bare but wrapped with cloth; somehow bizarre and at the same time silly.
Stop I was laughing at the chaotic-ness of this whole scene lmaooo, especially this part
It’s alright if you won’t chop yours off, I’ll chop off his!”
He was referring to Pei Ming. Pei Ming was dumbfounded.
“WHAT THE FUCK?!”
Also
YO THE ABSOLUTE IMAGERY HERE OH MY GOD IM SCREAMING ITS SO BEAUTIFUL T-T
The bloody rain that had enveloped the sky had transformed into a fluttering shower of flower petals!
There was no need to even guess who had come. Xie Lian curled his fingers and clenched his hand, clutching that flower petal as the name blurted from his lips.
“San Lang!”
Blossoms fell like dripping blood; blood danced like petals in the wind. That face was as spirited and handsome as the first time they met, his eye bright and alive. He languidly sheathed that long and slender silver scimitar back into its scabbard, and spoke with a deep voice.
“Your Highness, I’ve come back.”
The next time I face the most minor of inconvenience such as phone battery low or smt, I'm using this line by pei ming lmaoo
“Where there is abnormality, there is evil; everyone be careful.”
Ok I HAVE A NEW THEORY (or acc it's me reiterating EXACTLY what I said last time lmao)
So if you look back at one of the chapters at the end of book 1, specifically the part when Goushi is discussing a dream with Xie Lian, he talks about being dragged down from ascension, the crown prince wearing only white clothes, and a kingdom falling into ruin....SOunD fAmIliAR???
The contents of the mural in this divine temple were completely different from the previous one.
They started studying it from the highest level, the top of the painting. A white-clad young man sat poised upon a jaded futon, his brows quietly handsome. It was that Crown Prince of Wuyong. His eyes were tightly shut, and judging from his posture, he seemed to be in deep reflective meditation. However, it wasn’t tranquil.
Like, HES EVEN MEDITATING THE WAY XIE LIAN DID WHEN HE WAS TRYING TO USE A STATUE TO HOLD THE XIANLE PALACE UP AND there's more, but the whole scene just SCREAMS parallels to Xianle (I also scream the same thing lmao) LIKE HOW ELSE CAN THIS BE EXPLAINED??? SOMEONE RELIVED THE WHOLE THING BEFORE?? UNLESS IT'S JUN WU??? GOD, I CAN'T LET JUN WU GO THIS DUDE IS INVOLVED IN SMT, BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT
Tumblr media
Hua Cheng is 100 percent aware he is in a book, and that book is a ROMANCE book, while everyone else is out there living out the horror genre in every way conceivable lmaoooo
Even though it wasn’t the right time, Xie Lian still felt his heart skip a beat in spite of himself.
“Are you tired holding this up? How about I hold the umbrella for you…”
The others were fleeing and dodging, running madly; seeing how the two were having a good time, they couldn’t stand it, and couldn’t help but call out.
“Hey! Isn’t that unfair?!”
“Hua Chengzhu, may I ask if you have any spare umbrellas??
NO I ACC FORGOT YIN YU EXISTED AND PANICKED WHEN THE EARTH MASTER SHOVEL SHOWED UP CUZ I WAS LIKE WIND MASTER MY BELOVED??? ARE YOU OK??????
Tumblr media
Aaaaaand the roasting session continues! On today's menu: roasted Yin Yu!!
Even if one was to stare at his face for two hours, after a good night’s sleep, his appearance would be completely forgotten the next day, so no doubt this was a molded fake face?
“…”
However, a moment later, that black-clad youth said, “I’m sorry, Your Highness, but, I…I really do look like this.”
Yikes cuz imagine being called plain faced and forgettable in front of your colleagues :/
HOW DO U EXPLAIN THAT U GAVE YOUR DEAREST A CURSED ROBE THAT WOULD MAKE THEM KILL THEMSELVES THO??
He’d always felt there was a misunderstanding between you in regards to the Brocade Immortal affair and wanted to hear your side of the story, so he could explain it to others. Yet, there was never any sign of you, nor any communication.”
Ok but low key that's kinda precious, like Qi Ying gaves me major dog vibes, constantly trying to return to owner kinda thing, yknow?
Loved loved loved how casual everyone was about this
“Everyone, a question. Have we dug into a mass grave?”
Pei Ming also pulled out a femur, sighing.
“Probably. Look at the structure of this bone. It must’ve belonged to an exquisitely beautiful woman with long, slender legs. To have her bones buried here, what a real shame.”
“Very unfortunate indeed,” Hua Cheng said. “The legs are long, that’s for sure, but that’s the bone of a man.
ALSO AAHHHHH BUT I LITERALLY STOPPED AT THE PART WHERE EVERYONE DISAPPEARS IN THE CAVE AND IM LIKE NOOO WAIT WHATS HAPPENING SJDJJDJFJF
“No,” Hua Cheng said. “But it’s precisely because there’s nothing that it’s worrisome.”
BRO IF HUA CHENG IS WORRIED, I THINK THERE IS A CAUSE FOR CONCERN HERE

ASK AND YE SHALL RECEIVE @nicheappeal. Outline below the cut. It’s both massive and full of hand-wavy plot threads I never fully tightened up, so uh, enjoy?
UTENA/TGCF CROSSOVER FIC - “You and Not the State of You”
CHARACTER NOTES:
Xie Lian - Anthy - Xie Lian has been the Rose Bride for as long as he can remember. The fall of Xianle - the first batch of duelists to fight for his hand - ruined him and turned him vengeful for a time (Black Rose Arc-esque). By the point that Hua Cheng arrives at Xian Le Academy, Xie Lian is jaded and resigned to his fate as a symbol of the revolution, even though he believes no one can actually obtain the power that the castle is rumored to hold. Prior to the start of the story, Jun Wu gave Xie Lian the opportunity to try to find duelists he believed could actually achieve revolution. This lead him to Mu Qing and Feng Xin — when his life began falling apart and they left him, it reaffirmed Xie Lian’s original fear that he couldn’t rely on others to help him achieve revolution.
Hua Cheng - Utena - Part of Hua Cheng died with his parents, not from love, but from a listlessness of having no one to care for him and feeling like it was just one more unfortunate thing in a long list of misfortunes. A handsome prince found him sleeping in the spare coffin next to his parents and gave him a ring to remember him by. Hua Cheng winds up at Xian Le Academy after hearing rumors that the ring originally came from an elite group there, and winds up winning Xie Lian as the Rose Bride.
Bai Wuxiang/Jun Wu - Akio - Bai Wuxiang faked his death, which lead to Xie Lian’s fall from grace. He returned as the benevolent Jun Wu, who offered to help Xie Lian gain revenge on those who hurt him and firmly establish him as the Rose Bride. He’s manipulated Xie Lian into believing that being a tool for reaching eternity is the only way he can bring revolution to the world and end their suffering. Unbeknownst to Xie Lian, Jun Wu’s vengeful nature means that eternity will always be out of reach for them….
He Xuan - Juri - He Xuan is one of the oldest of the Rose duelists, and also one of the most lethal. Luckily, he seems to be only half-heartedly invested in the game. This belies his deeply resentful nature — he originally came to Xian Le chasing the man who lead his life to ruin, befriending his younger sibling in the process in order to get closer. When Shi Wudu visits, He Xuan duels him and kills him, to Shi Qingxuan’s dismay. This is the last time He Xuan ever duels.
Shi Qingxuan — Shi Qingxuan tries to duel once, as a way of admitting she cares for He Xuan. She’s a timid, frightened duelist who isn’t cut out for it. At the end of the duel Shi Qingxuan cries and admits she wanted to make things right for He Xuan… to give him the eternity he deserves. This finally makes He Xuan realize he’s holding on too much to things he can never get back while ignoring — and harming — someone important to him. Following this duel they confess to each other.
Mu Qing - One of Xie Lian’s former childhood friends who separated from Xie Lian before coming to Xian Le Academy. Mu Qing lives in regret for how he treated Xie Lian, but is too prideful to admit fault. He duels for Xie Lian’s hand because he believes it is a way to finally prove to Xie Lian and Feng Xin that he doesn’t need their pity, protection, or help. Instead he’s easily felled by Hua Cheng and admits to regretting hurting Xie Lian when they were younger.
Feng Xin - One of Xie Lian’s childhood best friends. Feng Xin was abandoned by Xie Lian after Mu Qing left, and never really Got Over It. He has a one-sided crush on Xie Lian that dies after their battle when he realizes he cannot stand up to Hua Cheng. Feng Xin tries to duel to protect Xie Lian from Hua Cheng and from life as a Rose Bride, leading Hua Cheng to question why Xie Lian allows himself to be part of the fight.
Ling Wen - Seems to be the only duelist in touch with Jun Wu directly, besides Xie Lian himself. Ling Wen seems to know far more about Jun Wu’s history than anyone else, but refuses to talk about it unless it’s to goad other duelists into showing their cards. She fights once for Xie Lian, searching for her own version of eternity where she can redeem herself for destroying her partner in an earlier duel. Qi Rong - The Saionji of the party. Literally will be around for the first chapter, gets his ass kicked, then gets kicked out for fighting. Will be so worth it.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
Ch 1.The Sunlit Garden
Hua Cheng arrives at Xian Le Academy flanked by a friend, Yin Yu, who gives Hua Cheng an overview of the status quo at the school. Specifically he warns Hua Cheng to be careful with Xie Lian, as people who get close to him seem to always wind up with horrible things happening to them.
He sees Xie Lian being abused by Qi Rong and immediately recognizes him as the boy who helped him when he was younger and mourning the death of his mother in a church. Absolutely no indication Xie Lian recognizes him.
Hua Cheng challenges Qi Rong for Xie Lian, accidentally causing a duel.
Hua Cheng wins. Xie Lian shows up at his room the next day and declares himself Hua Cheng’s bride.
This is literally just Utena episode 1 reskinned
Ch 2.The Rose Bride
Hua Cheng questions Xie Lian on what it means to be a Rose Bride. Xie Lian seems almost sad at how naive Hua Cheng is about how things work at Xian Le, but loops back around to, “This is how it is, and it isn’t so bad. I’m protecting something important and ensuring only the most worthy gets it.”
Xie Lian says he has no clue what the power is. Whether or not you believe him is up to the audience.
They briefly see Xie Lian’s former friends, Feng Xin and Mu Qing, who react super weird to him. Hua Cheng instantly dislikes them and they dislike him, trying to warn Xie Lian against getting involved with Hua Cheng. Neither of them have duelist rings by this point.
Ch 3.
He Xuan approaches Hua Cheng and talks to him about the Rose Bride battles. He is more forthcoming than the others about his motivation (“If we fight, it isn’t because I have an issue with you”) and says that Hua Cheng has gotten roped into a dangerous game. He alludes to the End of the World and the periodic influx of new duelists, signaling Hua Cheng to be careful.
Hua Cheng tries to spend more time with Xie Lian outside of battling, but is shocked when Feng Xin approaches and challenges him. Feng Xin says he blames the duels on losing Xie Lian’s friendship, and hopes that by beating Hua Cheng he can free Xie Lian from the duels.
Xie Lian tells Hua Cheng that, while it’s a sweet thought, it’s also flawed - Xie Lian will just change hands as he has many times before, and he doesn’t want Feng Xin to get involved in the duels on his behalf.
Feng Xin duels admirably but ultimately falls. Xie Lian is a silent observer to the fight, but then quietly apologizes to Feng Xin when he loses. He apologizes for leaving him, but emphasizes that Feng Xin knew he couldn’t stay.
Chapter 4
Mu Qing is pissed about Feng Xin’s loss, because he thought that’d open up the opportunity for him to get closer to Xie Lian again too. Ling Wen, another duelist, encourages him to fight for Xie Lian and prove how he’s grown in the years since they separated and gives him a duelist ring.
Mu Qing FIGHT. Hua Cheng is so tired of these two.
Lots of flashbacks of Mu Qing feeling left behind, ignored, and belittled. Trying to get Xie Lian’s attention but failing when Xie Lian has to answer to his duties as the Rose Bride. He fights so aggressively he doesn’t even realize his flower is cut until he spears Hua Cheng’s, only to look down and notice his is already missing.
He cries, infuriated, and walks away without another word to Xie Lian, who looks visibly pained and upset.
Chapter 5
OH BOY HERE WE GO TIME TO CRY.
He Xuan introduces Shi Qingxuan, a non-duelist. Hua Cheng is immediately suspicious of why He Xuan is friends with her because his behavior is cold and aloof.
He Xuan admits his history with the Shi brothers — Shi Wudu sabotaged his family’s business, putting them in loads of debt and essentially sending his parents to an early grave. His girlfriend passed away suddenly after that. He Xuan carried his parent’s debt and ultimately wound up at Xian Le as a transfer to chase down Shi Wudu, and wound up getting close to Shi Qingxuan in an attempt to reach Shi Wudu.
He Xuan absolutely will never admit that SQX is anything more than a pawn but Hua Cheng absolutely sees the way he looks at her because this is my fic and beefleaf is canon in every universe I write.
Shi Qingxuan immediately hits it off with Xie Lian, who seems thrown off at the idea of a non-duelist actually wanting to talk to him. Shi Qingxuan says she doesn’t believe any of the rumors about Xie Lian being bad luck.
When Hua Cheng asks Xie Lian later what he thinks about He Xuan’s revenge plot, Xie Lian says some super cagey stuff about how unfulfilling revenge always is.
Chapter 6
He Xuan fights for Xie Lian. He hopes the revolutionary power will restore his status, allowing him to crush Shi Wudu under his heel.
During the fight it becomes obvious that He Xuan doesn’t actually wish ill on Shi Qingxuan, but is so caught up in his revenge fantasies that he cannot admit how much he cares for her except in a moment of weakness in losing the duel.
Xie Lian comments on how wrapped up people get in their perceptions of the situations they’re in rather than the reality of it all.
Chapter 7
Ling Wen approaches as a final duelist of the main arc, seeming detached from the idea of owning the Rose Bride and solely is focused on redeeming herself for a past duel.
Hua Cheng starts to learn how far back Xie Lian’s existence as Rose Bride goes, and begins to suspect Xie Lian was already the Rose Bride when Hua Cheng met him as a kid.
Chapter 8
A new set of rings are sent out - Shi Qingxuan, Yin Yu, Lang Qingqiu, and Shi Wudu
First up Lang Qingqiu because god I literally paid zero attention to his chapters and would really just like to speed past him.
Chapter 9
Yin Yu challenges him next, wanting to redeem himself for hurting Quan Yizhen. Hua Cheng is disappointed in him for choosing to fight when Hua Cheng has been telling him about Xie Lian and his efforts to keep him safe from being used.
Yin Yu reconciles with Quan Yizhen after the fight
Chapter 10
First half of Black Water arc meets Juri’s arc aka “Sadie Cries for Days” arc.
Shi Wudu shows up, is a jerk, and challenges Hua Cheng because he believes his brother is more fit to be the Rose Bride than Xie Lian.
(And yeah he says brother bc casual transmisogyny, hate that. #WeHateShiWuduHere)
He Xuan steps in and demands Shi Wudu fights him instead, saying he believes he’d be a better duelist for Shi Qingxuan. Shi Wudu absolutely takes the bait even as Shi Qingxuan is yelling at them both to fucking stop it and she doesn’t even want to be roped into this.
Hua Cheng and Xie Lian show up to watch because why not, and Xie Lian is the actual Rose Bride and can they even get into the duelist arena without him? Hell no.
He Xuan takes Shi Wudu down, reveals he knows Shi Wudu sabotaged his family, Shi Qingxuan tries to defend him. He Xuan is heartbroken listening to Shi Qingxuan defend him and feels like he’s been truly betrayed. He kills Shi Wudu in cold blood while Shi Qingxuan watches.
Chapter 11
Shi Qingxuan is Not Okay(™) after that last chapter.
She desperately wants to make things better, because she feels like its her fault his brother died. She wasn’t repentant enough to He Xuan. She begs He Xuan to be her Rose Bride so they can defeat Xie Lian/Hua Cheng and take eternity for themselves, and maybe finally fix the harm Shi Wudu caused.
But Shi Qingxuan isn’t cut out for fighting. She almost goes down to Hua Cheng until He Xuan gets between them, covering Shi Qingxuan. He admits that he never wanted Shi Qingxuan to bear the burden of what his brother did. He only wanted Shi Qingxuan to acknowledge He Xuan’s suffering. The flower wilts between them as they embrace.
Shi Qingxuan still isn’t over the whole “you killed my brother” thing but they’re working on it.
Chapter 12
Jun Wu reveals himself to Hua Cheng when they move into his penthouse for the following semester because Xie Lian is his [checks hand] brother? Distant cousin? Whatever lie he says to keep Xie Lian close.
Xie Lian starts opening up a little more to Hua Cheng. They kiss, finally. Xie Lian pretends it never happened the next day, to Hua Cheng’s insanity.
Chapter 13
Xie Lian reconciles with Feng Xin and Mu Qing, who both cast off their duelist rings rather than fight again. Learning about Shi Wudu shook them.
Yin Yu warns that it feels like something is coming. Hua Cheng has successfully held onto the Rose Bride for several months — there’s no way that eternity isn’t close to his grasp.
Hua Cheng admits he isn’t sure he wants eternity if Xie Lian has to remain as the Rose Bride. Xie Lian doesn’t understand why Hua Cheng cares, and Hua Cheng admits he loves him and Xie Lian deserves better.
Xie Lian starts to think maybe he does. :cry-emoji:
Chapter 14
Jun Wu is not happy about the developments in the previous chapter and Hua Cheng totally sees them together. That’s it that’s the chapter. Everyone can collectively puke now.
Oh also a final letter arrives from End of the World challenging Hua Cheng to a last duel.
Chapter 15
Jun Wu reveals himself as End of the World, admits the dueling game is his design. Find someone strong enough to reach the castle where eternity lies and meet them there, then steal it from them.
Gets to relive Xie Lian’s backstory. Hello 1000 swords.
Hua Cheng sees Xie Lian’s coffin and goes to save him. Really this is just. The last episode of Utena but adapted.
Chapter 16
Xie Lian gathers his things and goes to join Feng Xin and Mu Qing to leave the academy
Jun Wu tries one last time to stop him, and Xie Lian tells him in no uncertain terms that his plan has failed for the last time, and Xie Lian will no longer be used by him. There are more important things than eternity, and if people wish to fight for it so be it — Xie Lian will not be a stepping stone to get there anymore.
In the car Xie Lian reads a postcard implied to be from Hua Cheng, telling him that he’s waiting for Xie Lian to come join him. Feng Xin and Mu Qing speed off as Xie Lian contemplates all the things he’ll tell Hua Cheng once they’re reunited.

LING WEN + CONNECTION WITH DIFFERENT TYPES OF GODS
MARTIAL  -  Ling  Wen  has  an  extremely  positive  relationship  with  the  martial  gods  as  a  whole  compared  to  other  groups.  Of  course  ,  individually  her  relationships  are  better  /  worse  depending  on  the  particular  god  (  ahem  ,  Mu  Qing  ).  But  as  a  whole  ?  This  is  the  group  she  gets  along  with  best.  Even  in  the  novel  it  mentions  how  it  was  the  martial  gods  that  really  celebrated  her  success  ,  not  the  civil  gods.  And  it  makes  sense.  She  frequently  deals  with  distributing  missions  for  martial  gods  ,  handling  the  merits  they  receive  from  feats  ,  and  of  course  damages  that  might  have  occurred  on  top  of  staying  away  of  the  rising  or  declining  of  gods.  She  interacts  with  them  very  frequently  and  knows  them  very  well  and  treats  them  with  respect  regardless  of  who  it  is.  It’s  a  contrast  to  where  book  five  mentions  how  other  gods  seem  to  more  or  less  look  down  on  the  martial  gods  as  a  whole  until  the  whole  battle  incident.  She  also  celebrates  more  in  the  manner  of  them  ;  with  lots  of  drinking  and  feasts  and  games/challenges.  All  in  all  ,  Ling  Wen  is  most  likely  to  be  found  (  if  not  just  with  Pei  Ming  and/or  Shi  Wudu  )  among  the  martial  gods  at  an  event  or  other  celebration.
ELEMENTAL  -  Her  relationship  with  the  elemental  masters  is  more  or  less  fairly  neutral.  Naturally  ,  Shi  Wudu  is  the  outlier  in  that  she’s  very  positive  and  close  (  for  Ling  Wen  )  with  him.  Her  interactions  are  few  and  far  between  besides  Shi  Wudu  and  Shi  Qingxuan ,  the  latter  being  more  rare  though  comparison  to  the  former.  She  knows  them  ,  they’re  respectful  ,  but  it  is  little  more  than  that.
CIVIL  -  By  FAR  the  worst  group  she  has  a  relationship  with.  It’s  extremely  negative  and  there’s  no  subtlety  to  the  poor  relationship.  They  despise  her  ,  often  bringing  up  insulting  names  or  comments  ;  Ling  Wen  doesn’t  bother  herself  with  them  if  she  can  help  it.  People  will  always  talk  as  she  likes  to  say  ,  and  them  especially.  They’re  threatened  by  a  woman  being  in  a  position  of  power  rather  than  just  an  ornament  like  the  few  other  female  civil  goddesses  who  once  had  ascended  (  as  back  in  Jing  Wen’s  time ,  it  mentions  them  being  ornaments  who  mostly  say  around  or  laid  out  paper  -  outside  of  those  Ling  Wen  has  brought  up  as  middle  officials  ,  I  don’t  know  if  there’s  still  any  or  just  her  since  it  was  800  years  ago  ).  They  interact  as  little  as  possible  and  rarely  offer  congratulations  or  support.  Despite  being  the  group  she’s  from  ,  they  are  the  group  most  desiring  to  see  her  fall  but  much  to  their  chagrin  ,  she  only  continues  to  raise  higher  and  higher.
MEDICAL  -  Although  only  mentioned  in  brief  ,  this  group  she  has  a  fairly  neutral  ,  slightly  positive  inclined  relationship  with.  She  does  have  a  fair  amount  of  interaction  with  them  whenever  a  martial  god  might  get  hurt.  But  she  also  makes  sure  that  they  always  have  what  is  needed  or  orchestrates  missions  for  gods  to  retrieve  anything  they  might  need.  Much  to  Ling  Wen’s  relief  ,  these  gods  tend  to  be  capable  with  their  paperwork  and  thus  are  a  low-stress  group  when  it  comes  to  her  work.  Which  she  appreciates.
ARTS  / MISC (?) -  Ling  Wen  has  next  to  no  interaction  with  them  beyond  around  times  for  celebration  in  the  Heavenly  Realm.  The  novel  does  mention  goddesses  in  charge  of  pottery  /  music  /  dance  ,  so  I’m  just  putting  other  gods  into  the  Arts  category.  While  she  occasionally  will  interact  with the  illustration  gods/goddesses  if  they  consult  her  about  stories  (  her  own  or  others  )  for  their  work  or  to  check  merits,  it’s  otherwise  nonexistent  or  fairly  neutral.

Revenge Is Sweet, Literally
SUMMARY: He Xuan had been writing in his diary. He was still planning the perfect revenge plot for the Shi brothers. He’s considered murder more times than not, but something is stopping him. Then Hua Cheng called him via the spiritual communication array. Zoning back in, He Xuan hears Hua Cheng say something that he normally wouldn’t care for.
“... Of course, I wouldn’t dare defile His Highness, but to think…”
He Xuan doesn’t care for that- Heaven, he doesn’t even know the context or what he says after, but he suddenly stands up and slams his hands on the table so hard that his bonefish look back at him. And then, he writes.
OR: He Xuan, after some thinking, comes up with the perfect revenge plan to anger Shi Wudu. AO3 LINK ---------
He Xuan sighed. While Hua Cheng was talking to him about how perfect Xie Lian was (it’s been 3 hours and 17 minutes. Please stop), He Xuan had been writing in his diary. Of course, Hua Cheng could not see him and therefore his ashes haven’t been destroyed, but he was still planning the perfect revenge plot for the Shi brothers. He’s considered murder more times than not, but something is stopping him. Whether it be fate or Hua Cheng's nagging (he only said it once, but still), he considered other options. After meeting Shi Qingxuan in Heaven, he had been even more hesitant to murder Shi Wudu and have them watch. Not because he actually likes them or anything, no, there must be some better things to do. With the knowledge that Shi Qingxuan knows nothing of the fate swap, he really doesn’t have anything better to do, anyway. And then Hua Cheng called him via the spiritual communication array. And he, stupidly, had said he wasn’t busy. Of course, either way, Hua Cheng wouldn’t care and keep talking, but then maybe he wouldn’t be as bored and unfocused as a dying leaf. Zoning back in, He Xuan hears Hua Cheng say something that he normally wouldn’t care for. “... Of course, I wouldn’t dare defile His Highness, but to think…” He Xuan doesn’t care for that- Heaven, he doesn’t even know the context or what he says after, but he suddenly stands up and slams his hands on the table so hard that his bonefish look back at him. And then, he writes.
The next time he goes to heaven, Shi Qingxuan is waiting for him. “Ming-xiong!” she says in her female form. “Ming-xiong! Over here, I need to tell you something!” He Xuan- or, Ming Yi, as he is, walks over to her. She’s beautiful, as she always is, wearing a light white robe with pink and blue accents. She tied her hair up into a half ponytail with a blue ribbon that flows almost elegantly behind her, which was probably a gift from her brother. Her wavy brown hair bounces when she turns to look at him, and he can see her brilliant teal eyes shining back at him with such force he feels the need to squint. Her lips are painted a nice red that compliments- well, everything about her. Her pretty face is only rivaled by the one he knew before- He quickly shakes his head at himself mentally at the thought. “Ming-xiong, did you hear what His Highness said in the communication array today?” Shi Qingxuan asks. He Xuan shakes his head, so she continues. “You’re never there, so of course- but whatever. What you do need to know is that His Highness was asking about Banyue pass…” And she goes on about the case of Banyue pass and how she absolutely must have Ming Yi come over to help her… but they need to be in disguise, because of course we do, Ming-xiong, how would it look if two heavenly officials decided to descend and go into an abandoned desert? I’m in my disguise already, won’t you be with me? All you have to do is change into your female form, and you're good to go! Come on, Ming-xiong, won’t you come with me? Just this once. You’ve done it before! He Xuan caves easily. One, because it’s her, two, because he absent-mindedly bargained for free food, and three, because he’s in a good mood. He just needs a good place to act upon his plan for revenge on the Shi brothers- or more specifically, Shi Wudu. When they descend should be the perfect time to act.
They run through the desert and see not just the Crown Prince of Xianle, Xie Lian, but also two deputy officials from the Middle Court and a random teenage boy in red. Their quartet was walking before Shi Qingxuan had the great idea to make a sandstorm with her wind so they wouldn’t catch up. So now, they’re in an abandoned cabin, and Shi Qingxuan winks at them with all her grandiose charm, and they set off. She and He Xuan end up in the abandoned kingdom, which is almost the size of a city. He Xuan reasons that he should transform back- not because he hates this form, but because this place seems pretty sketchy and he’s more powerful as a male anyway. Shi Qingxuan pouts, commenting that he will have to change back if they meet people. Which, okay, fair, that was the agreement and makes sense since the whole point was to be in disguise anyway. As they go through, they eventually find another part of an abandoned marketplace. Not very worthy on its own, but what is worthy is that He Xuan finally has the guts to act upon his plan of revenge. As Shi Qingxuan is looking through the abandoned houses and stalls with such child-like wonder you’d think it’s a place where rats talk, he pins her to the wall. Okay, it was quite sudden, but he doesn’t have experience! How is he even supposed to do this? Isn’t he supposed to ask for consent or something? Is he even pinning her to the wall right? How Hua Cheng manages to act flirty with Xie Lian without combusting, he will never know. “M-Ming-xiong?” Shi Qingxuan asks, barely above a whisper, and up close he can see her long eyelashes and her glistening face and the way the rouge of her lips is done almost perfectly- He Xuan kisses her. Shi Qingxuan doesn’t protest or try to get away. She closes her eyes and leans into the kiss, her breath hitching slightly. He Xuan feels like he’s on fire- and they eventually grind against each other like they were meant to be slotted this way, that this was their only purpose in life. He allows himself one moment to taste the light and melt into the kiss. He allows himself to be swept away by the wind without complaint, allows her to take the lead. And he hasn’t felt this good- this whole- in a long time.
He Xuan pulls away eventually and his face is visibly burning up since he doesn’t have the energy or even realization to hide it in time. Still, Shi Qingxuan flashes him a brilliant smile, and all feels right in the world. He doesn’t know how long they’ve been at it, but if things are going the way he thinks they are going, than he’s sure that Shi Wudu will be absolutely pissed. Fantastic. After he recollects himself, pushing all the thoughts about his fiance aside, he realizes that both of them still have a mission to follow through. He dutifully- albeit not very enthusiastically- reminds her of that fact. Shi Qingxuan pouts again, “Ming-xiong! Have more tact than that. You just- we- ugh, never mind. Fine, sure.” He Xuan has a feeling that she isn’t as mad as she pretends to be. He smirks.
That bastard, Hua Cheng, Crimson Sought Rain Flower, whatever, is standing there as a slightly disheveled albeit charming- at least, to Xie Lian- teenager in red. He Xuan can’t help but raise his eyebrows at that. That, and the fact that he has two eyes. He hopes his expression conveys the ‘Two eyes, huh?’ comment he so desperately want to make. He gives him a knowing look up and down, gaze lingering on his neck and chest. He will swear on his life that Hua Cheng’s expression was meant to convey either ‘Boobs, huh?’  or ‘I know what you did.’He Xuan desperately wants neither and is glad to leave as quickly as he did, even if he did want to get to know the Xie Lian that wasn’t described under a rose-tinted glass.
He gets caught up in the wind multiple times, after the incident and Banyue. They change it up sometimes, but no matter what he pushes away the thoughts of the love he had before and lets himself taste gold. No matter what, they end up together. He wonders if it will stay that way. He pushes the thought aside. He needs Shi Qingxuan to know what his brother did. It’s only right, it’s only fair, and whether Hua Cheng knows his plan for revenge or not, he will do what he set out to do.
He isn’t sure if Shi Qingxuan likes being tied up (he’s normally the one who is) , but it’s fine. After finding out the truth about what her brother did and finding out Ming Yi’s true identity, he’s been begging for forgiveness. Begging for something, anything he can do to make it up to him, even if he knows it’s a naive hope. For once, He Xuan is glad he listened to Hua Cheng. He confesses to Shi Qingxuan about almost everything. The past stays in the past, but his feelings are true. He wanted the Wind Master to know the truth in the most objective way possible because that’s what he deserved. He has no intention of hurting him more than he already has intentionally. And miraculously he believes him. He explains his plans for revenge against his brother. All Shi Qingxuan can do is snort at the absurdity.
Shi Wudu walks in, ready to go into battle mode with a calamity. Especially if he hurt him- he won’t back down due to some power difference. It may be his domain, but- His thoughts come to a stop when he sees his brother hanging around He Xuan’s arm like some sort of star-struck lover girl. He blanched at the thought. “Ge!” he says, looking way too happy to be kidnapped by a supreme. “I know this might look bad, but-” “I defiled your brother.” Shi Wudu can only stare. Even his calm and cool demeanor has escaped his grasp. If anyone asks, he did not choke out a disbelieving and possibly scared, “Wh-what?” “Yeah, I got defiled!” Shi Qingxuan says, raising one hand in the air and grinning widely as if Shi Wudu’s entire world isn’t being shattered around him. The worst part of it all, though, is the fact that he can hear that brotherfucker mutter under his breath, “Revenge is sweet. Literally.”
Later, He Xuan decides that instead of letting the wind take him wherever, he’s going to lead the wind along the way. He was probably too forceful because the Wind Master was crying. But they both know he likes it. “... I want to die,” he mumbled. “Dream on,” He Xuan replied cooly. ------- Notes: Oh yeah, they end up married and they invited Shi Wudu. He ends up drinking so much that he accidentally does something very stupid that will become a story to go down to Shi Qingxuan and He Xuans grandchildren.
This is completely unedited. I made this while half-drunk on crack fics and cooking shows
My first one-shot. I don't even care for Beafleaf that much. They were doomed. He Xuan had a fiance. But the idea was so funny that I couldn't pass it up, I think. I don't know how to write that well, but still, all my other ideas were longfic ideas. I mean I ship them I guess and I like it when Shi Wudu lives but I like.
He Xuan is not my favorite character, but I'm sinking deeper and deeper, and soon I will drown (pun intended). This was inspired by Kictor and ColeyDoesThings! There are a lot of references to other things as well. Also, this is completely unedited, so let me know if any mistakes were made! ------ Made and completed on 2024-01-02.

was that zhang linghe? oh no no, that was just shi wudu, a canon character from heaven official’s blessing. they are hundreds of years old, use he/him, and are aware that they are not actually from washington dc. too bad they can’t stray from this city for long.
how long has your character been here:
about a year and a half now
what is your character’s job:
technically, he's the head of a large imports company, but i do not think he's ever been to work
where has your character been pulled from in their fandom:
right after he xuan killed him
has any magic affected your character:
he's been unaware for like... a few hours total due to some murder shenanigans, but other than that, only his multiple resurrections
and any other information you might find useful for us and the other members to know:
shi wudu is one of those characters i love but also hate, i will not elaborate beyond that thank you very much
he was the first born son of a wealthy and prosperous merchant household, and his younger brother, shi qingxuan, was born when he was six years old
qingxuan was cursed from birth by a being known as the reverend of empty words, to live in suffering and die a horrible death. to confuse the monster, their parents passed qingxuan off as a girl and raised them as such
when shi wudu was sixteen, his parents died after a downward spiral for their luck, and his family began fighting over the inheritance they left behind. shi wudu couldn't take it, and left the family home with qingxuan in tow, determined to protect his younger sibling
he joined a cultivation sect, and gained ability in cultivation fairly quickly, always returning home to his sister down the mountain at the end of the day. until the night he lost track of time and stayed far later than expect, leading qingxuan to come looking for him
his sister was discovered by the reverend, and the two fled, living in fear until shi wudu managed to ascend to the heavens, taking qingxuan with him until they managed to ascend on her own
he spent centuries as the water master, the god of wealth, and thrived in the heavens. he was known as one of the three tumors, alongside his friends, ling wen and pei ming, and spent most of his time with the two of them and his sibling
eventually, however, the reverend of empty words was being rumored to make a reappearance. qingxuan and shi wudu began looking for a solution, but it was quickly revealed that the reverend had been killed by none other than qingxuan's best friend, ming yi
ming yi than revealed to qingxuan that he hadn't ascended naturally. shi wudu had swapped qingxuan's fate with a man who shared her name and birthday, damning he xuan to qingxuan's miserable demise while qingxuan became a god in his place
qingxuan fell into a depression, and shi wudu did what he could to keep his brother away from whatever was to come, even tying her up in an attempt to keep them from harming himself
this did not work (obviously) and the two of them ended up in the lair of he xuan, now the calamity black water sinking ships, and he reveals that ming yi had been a guise, the real ming yi killed long ago to allow he xuan to take his place and find who had damned him
he offered the brothers a choice, swap qingxuan's fate with a mad man and live in poverty, or force qingxuan to kill his brother with a rusted blade. shi wudu tried to fight for his own demise to spare his brother, and goaded he xuan into ripping his head off, rather than allowing his brother to suffer more
arriving in dc, he immediately picked a fight with he xuan, resulting in his next four deaths, as well as the loss of his spiritual weapon. qingxuan also confronted him about what he'd done, and the two are working to repair the lost trust between them
