despite most asian mom stereotypes she's a very understanding parent and tends to let us off the hook a lot more easily than our dad

the one thing she never let us skip over was self-defense (particularly marinette and i) because even though paris is (or, uh... was) a relatively safe place to live, she didn't want us to ever feel helpless on our own

she is responsible for the chinese-style desserts at the bakery (mooncakes, rice cakes {not the american kind}, steamed tapioca cake, fried milk, etc)

can you tell i'm using scripting as a way for my white-washed ass to connect with my own culture...

ANYWAYS she's a very sweet woman and i'm probably closer with her than i am with papa (even tho our whole family is pretty close i would say)

she maybe thinks i should stand up for myself a little more but other than that she supports my life choices because she raised responsible children

secretly doesn't like mateo though... she supports me but he gives her a bad vibe (MAMA'S ALWAYS RIGHT SMH)

like when i go out with friends she always offers everyone a ride home except him LMAO

love language is cut-up fruit (but still lets us know she loves us and is proud of us)

starting dating my dad when she was in lycee. will never let us forget that we may meet our soulmate in school

i was feeling a little nostalgic and so redrew some old miraculous kiddos :] i think its crazy how much my art has changed in 2.5 yrs. especially:

1. hair (especially especially mens hair, like adriens hair used to be so difficult for me... evidently LMAO) 2. clothes (marinette's hoodie in 2021? i'd wanted it to be baggy but. just. it wasnt happening LOL) 3. speed. i did these redraws way faster than the originals

anyways. yeah keep drawing 2.5 years is a really long time but the difference between even just a few months is so vast!! I just love that artists can VISUALLY SEE these things that's such a plus

i don’t love chat noir not being in final fight with his father, but at the same time i do love that this was the first finale where we see ladybug 100% confident in the face of impossible odds. she’s clearly terrified out of her mind but she never stops and doubts whether she can win. and it’s not that she doesn’t still need her team because she does and everyone is behind the scenes helping her, but this is the first finale we’ve seen her without any doubt in her ability to win. it’s the first time she doesn’t need a pep talk from chat noir to keep her going.

but even though she doesn’t need a pep talk and he’s not physically there with her, that doesn’t mean she doesn’t still need him. it means that he’s part of her now even when he’s not there. you can feel the boost of confidence after she transforms into bug noire and it’s more than just the added power. it’s that this time she doesn’t have the ring because he abandoned her but instead because he has faith she can and will save them all. she can only do it without him because he believes she can, and through that she can believe in herself. she’s finally able to internalize the things he’s told her every finale. girl didn’t doubt for a second that she could kick gabriel’s ass and reform her team and she didn’t doubt her chat noir would be part of that team. i love how confident and strong she was and how far she’s come.

#i do think this will lead to a big shift in their partnership #it remains to be seen what exactly #but now marinette is at peace with her role as a hero while adrien isn’t #which is a MASSIVE switch from the first 5 seasons #and is going to affect them as much as her being the guardian and keeping secrets does #miraculous ladybug #ml recreation

His golden eyelashes brush his cheekbones as he inhales. “It would’ve been a pleasure to have you as my first,” he murmurs, looking up at her as smoke curls out from his lips.

french is my first language and i don't speak english (i kinda wanna know what english sounds like to people who don't speak it lol)

alya doesn't MFING SUCK (i haven't even watched the new season and i'm already salty on my big sister's behalf because what the FUCK was that)

secondary miraculi don't work the same way as core miraculi (ladybug and black cat)- instead of having one "big" power, there are usually about 3-4 "smaller" powers with individual time limits

My review of Miraculous Ladybug S5 so far is that it has a lot of scenes that I like in theory, but in action just end up being very silly and way over dramatic

#that being said. i love them all the same #genuinely obsessed with this show #but man it handles everything in such an odd way #they always spend so much time talking about nothing for the first 75% of the episode #and then the last 25% hikes up the drama to 100 and its always so abrupt #'illusion' is an excellent example of this lol #that episode had such a strange and sudden tone shift #its bizarre that the episodes are 22 minutes long but still barely manage to say anything #this is all technically criticism but make no mistake. i wouldnt have it any other way #this is truly the peak of miraculous ladybug. this is what it should ALWAYS be #so far i dont think theres been an episode where ive been particularly BORED. theyve all got a little spice to them #which i appreciate #well. i kinda didnt like the first 2 episodes. those were just a lot of running around #but everything after that has been exactly what i wanted #tldr: the pacing is weird and i wouldnt change a thing #my notes document on this show is up to 8 pages. ive never had as many opinions on a show as I do this one #im a certified miraculous stan

I understand the frustrations of romance being shoehorned in the majority of media, especially between a guy and a girl. As someone who treasures friendships and platonic feelings, I do get it. And I’d love more representation of super strong friendships and love that isn’t romantic between two people (especially a guy and girl).

But.

Miraculous Ladybug isn’t one of them.

They were hardcore on romance from the beginning. I’m not saying you can’t make your headcanons and stories and AUs that fit your ideas and narratives but you also gotta keep in mind that in canon, ML’s main focus is romance between Maribug and Adrichat.
