Clark is aware that spying on others is more Batman's thing.
However... it's his little niece and nephew, okay? Just because they live in Illinois now (and aren't his blood relatives) doesn't mean anything. The Walker family's always been close with the Kents, even if only Grandma Walker still even lives in Smallville. So, just like he always keeps an ear out for Ma and Pa, he keeps an ear out for Alicia, Maddie, her husband Jack, and his cute niece and nephew's heartbeats.
It's easy enough and a pretty good indicator of their well-being, even beyond the obvious.
Clark really can't be held accountable for the chair that punched through the wall of the Watchtower's meeting room when he shot up out of it. He figures that he's being quite restrained, actually, since his nephew's heart literally just stopped beating.
In the time that it takes to pacify the rest of the assembled League members, though, Danny's heart starts beating again.
But it's different. Slower. Dangerously so.
He needs to get to Amity Park right now.

Like. Is there a character in Star Wars that has more lesbian swag than Sabine Wren? She looks like That™️, she has a bitter butch ex, her mom disowned her, the one time a guy had a crush on her she ignored it until he realized he was gay, and she blows up homophobes with rainbow bombs. Literally how could anyone think she’s straight?

None of the -we’s can play hide and seek without getting a panic attack.
The “desperately hiding in a dark, hidden corner, hoping and praying that your pursuer doesn’t find you while desperately trying not to make a sound” hits a little too close to home, reminding them of their elfling days at lake cuivienen where one of the first things the adults taught the children was where and how to hide.
Hide and seek was actually a game invented by the adults to teach the children how to stay hidden in case there were unwanted beings nearby, without causing to much alarm in the kids.
As a result, cuivienen elves, like finwe, were torn between teaching their kids the game after they arrived in valinor bc it couldn’t hurt right? And absolutely refusing to engage in it ever again due to the emotional distress it causes them.

sourceless snippet floating in my brain:
“I don’t want your forgiveness,” Fëanor snarled. “I don’t need your forgiveness!”
“Yet you have it,” said Nolofinwë—enjoying himself, it may be noted, immensely.

What if Nathaniel was a companion in DA2??
We could’ve had him and Anders sharing Awakening tales and making inside jokes and confusing the fuck out of everyone
We could’ve had an interesting dynamic between him and the Warden sibling who he’d be senior to and might even command
We could’ve had Varric thinking he’s the ‘normal one’ until it becomes clear he’s just as kooky as the rest of them
We could’ve had a moment when Justice comes out and while every other companion is freaking out Nathaniel is like ‘oh hey man how’s it going’ which starts people fearing Justice less
(Also it comes out that the janders merger was Nate’s idea and the reactions to that would be interesting)
We could’ve had him and Anders getting together if neither was romanced like how Fenris and Isabela have a thing!!!
