Hey Arnold Study ENTRY01 "Arnold visits Arni"

GUuYS- As you may know I recently got re-obessed with Hey Arnold for a brief amount of time very recently. (Sadly I had to kill that obsession because of school and Looney tunes comic- but no worries, I'll try to come back as soon as the comic is finished jahsj qwq)

BUT I GOT LIKE REALLY OBSESSED LIKE SUPER- YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY HEY ARNOLD SCREENSHOTS I HAVE NOW- I HAVE A WORD DOCUMENTING EVERYTHING FROM ALMOST EVERY EPISODE (Except the ones from last seasons cause I was honestly tired of writting while eating and pausing and not being able to watch comfortably Hey Arnold-)

Side note 01: I don't mean sl*ty in a demeaning way, I was trying to explain things to myself and let them clear to me x'0

Side note 02: This episode happens previously to "Married" episode.

Obviously the most interesting part of the episode was how Arnold switched Helga's personality to someone he actually developed feelings for and it wasn't too far away from Helga's real character like her poetry, her schemes to get closer to the guy she liked and general appearance. What's also interesting to note is how they changed the other characters, they basically switched their personalities between two characters, ex: Making phoebe dummer and Stinky smarter. Gerald more exaggerated and Sid cooler. Rhonda carless and Harold all about looks.

But when they switched Lila and Helga, Lulu came out more "sluty" and flirty. Traits that have nothing to do with Helga. And Hilda came out as inteligent and sweeter, which could be characteristics that could apply to Lila- only without her iconic "Ever so much" and exaggerated kindness. Those characters didn't seem to switch personalities. Maybe show unconscious beliefs of them?

It's a awesome episode to think about since it's all Arnold's dream so reflecting on the way he portrayed "helga" he must have some sort of idea of her, that she's nice deep down. Like he has confirmed he doesn't think Helga is mean for the sake for being mean in the Helga vs Patty episode. Like he has seen Helga act nice in the Rhonda costume party when she pretended to be Lila, like when he took care of her when she got amnesia and seemed too innocent, like when he convinced her to wash dishes and do the right thing. He must by this point, be almost sure there's a good nature underneath her despite how much she fights it.

About Lila... When they first started going out she was quite flirty. And she was also quite flirty when she went out with Arni, so maybe he perceives her attentions to certain degree a little sl+ty out of jealousy? idk just a thought.

Besides Lulu keeps Lila's way of communication "all so much about" "I'm all to certain that-"And the dream kept Arnold and Helga's tradition for crashing againts eachother. Making them essentially themselves and not them with switched personalities.

I think it's also interesting to see how Arnold also instantly fell in love"" when he saw Hilda. The first thing he asked was "Do I know you?" as to say she reminds him of someone he has seen cause he thinks he already knows her. The only possible answer is Helga.

IT's also interesting to see how Arnold bumped exactly with her as soon as she finished telling the moon if she would ever meet her one and true love.

I love Arnold's little shy hands hiding behind him, listening to her happily,,,

Arnold has witnessed to certain degree Helga reciting poetry like when Arni visited last time, so it's not crazy he made that connection to Hilda admitting she was reciting poetry.

ANYWAY in review, despite if he knows if Helga is a good person or not which at this point I'm sure he has a gut feeling, he must find her attractive rigth of the bait or at least feel attraction. Like when he complimented her the first time he saw her on "Helga on the couch" episode and because he doesn't even "know her" and he can't help to seem all goofy.

Note he also included Helga's "love sighs" on the dream, so maybe he has heard them before??

"I've never met anyone like you Hilda, and I really like you a lot"

He confessed to Hilda and Hilda confessed she liked Arni- This episode could be taken in two perspectives, one is that It's just like when Arni visited but this time is Arnold is Arni; so even if Arnold seems perfectly normal on this episode, he may have been a weirdo to everyone in town except to Lulu like it happened with Arni and Lila. This could be it but for wouldn't be completely accurate, Hilda would have had already been obsessed with Arni or idk maybe not. It could also be Arnold confessing to Lila and Lila saying she likes Arni, except for the whole intro to the situation reviewed on one ep. It's interesting he confessed to Hilda on his dream tho

(I didn't even understand myself what I meant but I'm gonna add that it could be Arnold falling in and out of love with Lila? And meaning he could fall in love with Helga if she showed her true nature? OR saying he already sort of likes her? Or likes what he thinkg he knows SHE IS??? LIKE I DON'T KNOW WHY I'M DOING THIS- I KNOW THEY ARE GONNA END UP TOGETHER I JUST WANT TO KNOW HE LIKED HER A LITTLE BACK TOO BACK THEN AND IT WASN'T THE RESULT OF HELGA SAVING HIS PARENTS AAAAA-)

Everyone chased Arnold except Hilda on Arnold's dream

Why was Arnold so happy that Helga was really Helga? If she was so nice in his dream (And so mean irl)? Was is because he really likes her as her is; or cause she doesn't like Arni like on his dream? LIKE WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? I MEAN I'M HAPPY HE'S HAPPY TO SEE THE REAL HELGA BUT DOES THAT MEAN HE LIKES HER MEAN OR WHAT I'M CONFUSED

Why was Arnold so happy to find out Lila only liked him? Cause she wasn't the "sl+ty" Lulu who did like him? MAybe he was just happy he wasn't on his nightmare anymore, still Hilda was no nightmare except till the end where she rejected him,,,, I love how he only adressed them like wth- the rest of your friends were the ones chasing you to your death and you don't wanna doble check that???

Medea Plays Pokemon Sword: Part III

The NO BEDE episode!

I do like these random campsites on the different routes. You can tinker with different curry recipes and see their different pokemon. So far, the Eeveelution tent is my favorite.

I got a cute shot of Umbreon and Espeon. And then I visited an all-cat tent!

Oh dear God.

Okay, these are some judgey-ass cat pokemon. They don’t like me making the curry.

Time for Circhester. I’ll check out the hotel first.

Don’t worry, it wasn’t a murder. Apparently some berries went missing.

True culprit.

Let’s head to the gym.

A trap? Are we talking about pitfalls or landmines? Because I really don’t want a, “SURPRISE! Your leg just blew off”.

Like seriously, fuck this gym.

Melony’s gym in Pokemon Shield is going to be just as screwy as this one, isn’t it? I’ll find out when I play Shield.

Thankfully I made it through Gordie’s challenge with my limbs in functioning order.

Let’s head off to Route 9.

These guys again! They’re crazy fucks, but I love them.

This is the part of the game where you get the bike upgrade that allows you to ride on water. Just heads up if you’re going to retrace your steps in earlier parts of the game, on the other side of those waters lays some pretty powerful pokemon (level 50+). Just FYI.

So the Yell twats shut up all of Spkemuth so Marnie and I have to go in through the back entrance.

At least this place isn’t like Po Town in Alola. I have to pay to get my pokemon healed at their center. This center thankfully has a Nurse Joy.

Okay time to meet the gym leader Piers...oh God.

I already have a severe distrust for this guy if he’s British and has the name of Piers. And you can all blame Piers Morgan for that! Because Piers Morgan has the likability of a chapped ass-crack.

I feel bad for that last one. We’re gleefully eating Slowpoke tails. Why does this seem so wrong?

The last several games have given us some pretty messed up entries. Let’s see if Sword continues the tradition.

-For their senior the gang makes a deal with PS 118 to replace Mr. Simmons’s new class, he played along but teared up a little on how far they’ve all come

-The whole gang attended Mr. Simmons’s wedding to Peter after it became legal

-Helga and Arnold getting caught making out by almost everyone, no matter where they go

-Sid has Stinky pick up the weed for their road trip but Stinky confused a bag of his mom’s oregano with it.

-Rhonda uses Curly as a basic guard dog.

“Oh yeah?” The gang member smiled, “Well I have a knife.”

“And I have a Curly.” She smirked, thumb pointing to the fuming nerd beside her.

-The school shooter is just some random looney, a whole sequence of what each person was doing during the attack

-Camping trip, teens go wild

-Taking a senior trip to London, it goes very well

-Gerald purposes to Phoebe at their senior prom during the last slow song of the night

-Lila having the baby, her and Stinky raising the baby. Sid’s a proud uncle.

-Sid stops selling the weed after his dad gets a better job and after Sid gets a job at the arcade. Still smokes though.

-Sheena’s funeral

-Helga proving to the boys on every opposing team that she can break them

-Gerald keeping Phoebe from mulling a poor unknowing opposing cheerleader

A cartoon you remember that nobody else does.

At times I feel like the only person on Earth who remembers Exosquad.

It’s a real shame, because Exosquad was one of the best toons of the 90s and proof positive that just because something was made to tie-in to toys, doesn’t mean that it has to be little more than a mindless extended commercial.

A cartoon you like but nobody else seems to.

That would be Beast Machines. A sequel series to the uber-good Beast Wars, this series caught a lot of derision for its shift in tone, design and character. Given the context though, I didn’t really see it as being ALL that divergent, with our heroes returning to a world where Megatron rules all and forced to learn how to use new, techno-organic bodies in order to combat him. Given the stress of the situation, I thought it wasn’t really THAT much of a stretch that the character’s personalities would change so much given the trauma of what had happened. Ah well.

A cartoon you don’t like but everybody else seems to.

That would be the Looney Tunes Show. At times I feel like the only person on Earth who just wasn’t impressed with it. I mean its not horrible or anything, but I feel like I’m the only person around who wasn’t all that wowed by it when it came out.

A cartoon you wish would be forgotten.

Sausage Party. For being a simplistic, puerile, overhyped puddle of mediocrity, it deserves to be swept into the dustbin of history.

The worst cartoon you’ve ever seen, and why?

You know, I had to give this some thought, but that would have to be Mr. Pickles. Mr. Pickles is basically an amalgamation of everything you could ever hate about ‘adult’ cartoons in the US- it’s ugly, unpleasant and pointless. The humor is one note and entirely reliant upon grossing people out in the most nauseating ways possible, and there is literally no one to root for- the dog is the Devil, every human being alive is monstrous, ugly and stupid, the only person who is clued in on this is a feeble old man who lives to be bested and tormented by the devil dog, and given how awful everyone and everything around him is you’re just left to wonder why he bothers. Everything about this series is just irredeemably, endlessly unpleasant.

The worst moment you’ve ever seen happen in a cartoon.

That would be the ‘Bunny Pajamas’ incident in Hey Arnold. See, there was this episode where quite by accident, Arnold discovered that Iggy, the coolest kid in school, liked to wear Bunny Pajama when sick. After having the information pried out of him by Sid and Stinky, Iggy forces Arnold to walk out in Bunny Pajamas in public as a means of forgiveness, utterly humiliating him in the process. What’s worse is that Sid and Stinky only *guessed* the truth. There was just... nothing after that. No resolution or anything. It was just a weirdly mean-spirited of an otherwise excellent series.

The worst thing you’ve ever seen happen to a cartoon that ruined it.

The love triangle nonsense in Legend of Korra. I just... couldn’t let myself be invested anymore after it, I just couldn’t. I learned to detest everybody involved, and so I left the series before it could fester any further.

A cancelled/forgotten cartoon you would bring back to television.

I have to pick just one? Geeze... well, I’m gonna break with tradition, and say War Planets. WE DESERVE AN ACTUAL RESOLUTION DAMMIT!

An animated character you remember but nobody else seems to.

Nilus the Sandman. I seriously feel like the only person who remembers that this guy was ever a thing.

An animated character you hate the most, and why?

Hmm... that would have to be Cheese. It was bad enough that this utterly useless and unspeakably obnoxious little cretin got more and more screentime on the show, but as time went on he practically became the mascot for Cartoon Network. He represents everything you could possibly hate about a character, and more importantly, the tendancy for executives to latch on to the lowest hanging fruit in the name of grabbing attention and views.

A non-animated property you would like to see as a cartoon

Oh, that’s easy- Starfox. I’ve always, always wished that there had been a Starfox cartoon out there and given the time the first game was released, I’m kind of amazed we never got one.

A trope or trend in animation that you dislike.

I’m not all that fond of the reatreat from action toons that has been going on for a while now, or the fact that cartoons are increasingly focused on comedy at the expense of everything else. It’s not so much that I don’t like comedy or anything like that, but I just prefer there to be a bit of variety and feel a genuine regret that things like Batman: The Animated Series or SwatKats are increasingly becoming a phenomenah of the past. Well, who knows, maybe Netflix will give toons like that a place to thrive- Young Justice will be coming back, after all. Here’s hoping that starts a trend, or rather, RE-starts a trend.

A currently airing cartoon that you know is going to be forgotten about in the future.

Pickle and Peanut. And thank God for that.

The best episode of a cartoon you really like.

Code of Hero, Beast Wars. One of the best Transformers anything ever, this is always gonna be a favorite.

The worst episode of a cartoon you really like.

Ro-Becca, from Sonic the Hedgehog. I love you SatAM, always will, but good GOD we could have done without that one.

A cartoon you feel deserves more recognition than it gets.

Disney’s Gummi Bears. Besides the fact that this series is what really got the ball rolling with Disney’s major TV rennaissance, the series itself is really quite incredible from both a visual and storytelling standpoint, especially with regards for the time that it was released. Despite having a fairly typical ‘Gang of Critters’ setup for the time, right down to each character being named for a trait (Gruffi, Tummi, Cubbi etc), every one of the Gummi Bears has a lot more going on than the surface would indicate, and there is a maturity to the worldbuilding and storytelling that belies what its name and appearance would suggest. Besides that, Princess Calla has to be one of the most badass princesses ever to grace television. This series is a gem, and its a shame it isn’t remembered and recognized more than it is.

A cartoon you feel deserves less recognition than what it gets.

Sausage Party. I’m mentioning it twice, but it really does not deserve the hype it got or the kind of reviews it got. In the history of adult oriented animation in the US, Sausage Party brings nothing new to the table beyond re-affirming that tired stereotype that ‘mature’ animation must be the most puerile and juvenile minded tripe out there. Everything from its supposed themes to the nature of its humor is just sub-par, and I will never, ever view it as anything more than a cheap gimmick film that banked on novelty rather than anything worthwhile.

The worst idea you can think of for an animated series.

Lara-Su Chronicles- The Series!

At what point did you realize a cartoon, any cartoon was starting to get bad?

Well, like many, I started to realize things were going downhill in the ‘03 Ninja Turtles cartoon once we reached the Flash Forward season. Now to be clear, I didn’t think it was a bad premise, and a lot of the ideas and designs in the season had a lot of promise. Unfortunately, that promise wasn’t really met- the season lacked a certain spark that those before it had. The magic was gone, replaced by something that just didn’t do the series justice. I lost track after that season, and from the looks of it I was right for doing so.

An experience with a cartoon you thought you were going to like but turned you away from it.

Wolverine and the X-men. See, I like X-men. I like Wolverine. So surely, I should like this right? Well, initially I did... but as time went on, Wolverine became less and less tolerable, particularly since it felt like Cyclops was getting shit on as a character to make Wolverine look better even though their dynamics were now completely opposite from what it had traditionally been. Which could have been interesting mind you, but nothing of worth was really done with it. I abandoned the series and never looked back.

Something you would like to see more than anything in a cartoon.

Hmmm... this is a fandom specific one, but honestly? I’d love to see a Transformers cartoon that does the old ‘Cybertronians Become Human’ bit, but to *actually* do it and explore the concept in a mature way, to explore how immortal war machines respond to suddenly becoming frail, short lived humans and all too aware of the fact, as well as learning how to endure a human existence. Maybe someday it will happen, but for now, I can but wish.

What do you feel makes a cartoon forgettable?

I think more than anything, writing and plotting can be the key to if a cartoon is remembered or forgotten. Being overly reliant on stock plots and playing it too safe more than anything can make a cartoon bland or cliched. I mean don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot more to it than that, but this is I think more than anything is what leads to a lot of cartoons winding up forgotten.

Dream Blog: Attack of the Numbers

September 11th, 2016:

My seat accelerated deep into the space, and I noticed that less and less stars and planet appeared around us. The whiteness that has been so prevalent at this beginning of this therapeutic experienced resurfaced. Then, my movie theater seat stopped, and I flung from it headfirst into the massive white room that welcomed me into this chaotic world that transcends my state of consciousness. My body skidded across a marble floor, but I did not break any bones in my body. No bruises or scratches surfaced on my skin either. My All-Efficient AirPods stayed in my ears during my free-fall. I took these headphones out of my ears and stuffed them into the right pocket of my jeans.

I picked myself up and walked down the white room. I heard incessant crying and screaming ahead of me, but I didn’t know who was mourning nor did I care. My stride slow down as I thought more critically about why this huge room is so white. Then, I saw not too far off in the distance Will Smith running towards me and crying. He held a book and shouted different letters of the alphabet out of order. Well, I should have known that it was Will Smith crying and screaming earlier. Several numbers, who were actually muppets, chased the actor and tried hitting and tackling him during this pursuit. Specifically, the number one, the number two, the number three, and the number four ran after Will Smith and eventually tripped him near where I was walking.

“Ow! Ow! Ow! Q-Z-Y-T-G-A-B-B-B-J-O-T! Cut that out! You numbers are so mean!” cried Will Smith out of desperation. The actor crouched onto the ground and swatted his arms at the numbers like they were flies on a hot summer day.

“B-V-R-A-D-C-E-Q-H-E-N-L-P-A-W-Q-R-T-C-X-G-I-O-L-K-W,” recited Will Smith to the tune of the alphabet song. The four number-shaped muppets did not stop ridiculing Will Smith.

The number song snickered, “There’s no rhyme or reason for your purpose, Mr. Smith. Why do recite nonsense? Learn the mathematics that surrounds us and become one of us. Ah-he-he-he-he!”

Finally, I stood up and gripped both of my fists. While I stormed over to where the numbers were bullying Will Smith, I bellowed at the top of my lungs, “That’s enough! All of your numbers need to cut all of this buffoonery out! Leave Will Smith alone! He may get on my nerves, but it disgusts me to watch you bully someone who’s done nothing to you! I’m not afraid to stand up for anyone, even if I don’t know the victim or if I don’t always get along with the victim. You numbers need to leave before I curb stomp all of you!”

The number two snapped back, “Oh yeah, well, we don’t take too kindly to people who recite the alphabet. It’s offensive to us, numbers. We live by formulas, for letters conform to our rules and regulations. You better think twice about the physics of your curb stomping.”

“Oh yeah,” I responded confidently.

Will Smith lied on the ground and sobbed while I walked over to the number three. I punched the number three right in the middle of this muppet that was twice my height. The number three fell down without defending itself. I walked over to this muppet’s head, or the upper curve of a number three, and curb stomped this massive puppet without hesitation. My body did not pause to contemplate the consequences of my actions. My foot smashed the upper portion of the number three. The other three numbers looked at me out of fear. Then, they started crying like children that skinned their knees for the very first time. I had no intention of stopping my attack on the number three. Small bits of the number three flew out from underneath my foot as I kept crushing it.

Then, lightning struck all four of these numbers and shocked them for what seemed like hours. The lightning’s sudden impact on the number three pushed me back, similar to how I flew out of my movie theater seat earlier. I landed on my back and lied there just like Will Smith, but I wasn’t crying. I raised myself up, sat there Indian style, and witnessed the immense lightning electrocute these muppets. The four, mean-spirited burnt to a crisp as they cried for mercy. The onslaught of lightning stopped, I heard their bodies fizzle like a pizza taken out of an oven after it was left in there for too long. Each number of the four numbers immediately ran away and bawled profusely. A trail of fallen, burnt parts of their skin formed when they sprinted away from us. I walked over to Will Smith and helped him get up. I looked around us to see who pulled off this act of sorcery. Footsteps crept up behind us. When I turned around, Werner Herzog approached us with his right arm stretched out. His fingers dangled in the air, similar to how a puppeteer pulls and controls the strings of his puppets. I flinched because because I didn’t know what he was going to do.

“My son, my son, I’ve cast away those evil creatures. They are done,” assured Werner Herzog.

“So, it was you who electrocuted those numbers like a powerful Jedi Master?!?” I asked out of a mixture between shock and disbelief.

“Yes, William. I rescued you and Mr. Smith from those wretched puppets. I know that you were absorbed in the heat of the moment attacking the number three, but you also underestimated how powerful those numbers are. They were setting you up for a humiliating defeat, so I stepped in and scorched them,” explained Werner Herzog. He looked at me hoping that I would trust him for once.

“So, you are a Jedi Master?” I questioned skeptically.

“Of course! George Lucas would never admit it, but Aguirre, the Wrath of God was one of the many films that inspired his Star Wars franchise. I even doctored the scripts for the original trilogy. George Lucas and Lawrence Kasdan would never admit that either,” revealed Werner Herzog as his eyes widened out of excitement.

“That’s amazing. I never knew that. You definitely put on the persona that you’re a Jedi. I’m sure that Yoda, Mace Windu, Obi-Wan, and Qui-Gon would all be proud of you,” I said enthusiastically.

“Thank you, William. I can tell that you’re a huge Star Wars fan,” replied Werner Herzog.

“Yep. Hey, um, this might be random, but I want to apologize for taking too long to finish the algebra exam earlier,” I said solemnly.

“William, we’ll talk about that later. Right now, we must wait for George the Orangutan, Stinky, Harold, Sid, the Crazy Bald Man, and your classmate who I wanted to obliterate, Matthew. In the meantime, you need to read The Shepheardes Calender.”

“Yessir. The Crazy Bald Man told me a lot information about that work when I entered this state of, um, natural spiritual free form cleansing therapy,” I said as if I knew exactly what I was doing.

“Listen to him, William. He’s not a fool. You’ll need him during these difficult, chaotic times. Please read this important piece of literature,” advised Werner Herzog.

“No problem,” I said casually.

Werner Herzog pulled a copy of The Shepheardes Calendar out of his light brown trench coat and handed it to me. I sat down next to Will Smith and read it while I waited for my other friends to arrive. Will Smith sat there and itched his arms occasionally. He didn’t recite the alphabet or run around us like a child who ate too much sugar. Werner Herzog just paced back and forth in front of us.
