If you could either be in the DC universe or the Percy Jackson universe, which would you chose and why? If Percy Jackson, who is your godly parent? Or if DC, what are your powers and who is your mentor?

I'd personally chose Percy Jackson because hyper fixations galore! I'm also a child of Hermes, so, YES!

Kat why would ask me to choose between these two😭

But seriously: I think I’d also choose Percy Jackson—yes, there’s a lot of death and violence but in either universe, I would have to fight someone so I don’t think it’s fair to compare them tbh :3

I chose PJO because at the end of the day, it would be so cool to live in a world where gods and myths were real. Of course, ignoring all the child murder and general angst

I’m taking a women and gender studies class rn in college and currently the unit is talking about the Sumerian and Egyptian goddesses Inanna and Isis (currently writing a comparative essay on them). I cannot express how amazed I am looking at the different ways people try to explain how the world works and celebrating life and death,, It’s just super cool!!

(Side note: I don’t know if anyone’s read The Wicked + The Divine but I can’t stop thinking about that when I hear about Inanna, that comic series has ruined my life)

Anyway, as for godly parent, it’s probably Hades, not just because I like myths about the Underworld (though that’s a big part of it) but also because from the official website quiz, I am in Cabin 13☺️

What's your favorite fanfiction you are currently writing?

Mine is Quest Parenthood: Challenge Accepted or Fall From Grace. Both are PJO AUs I am hoping to post over on Wattpad and AO3 soon. Do you want a dedication?

Right now, I think it’d be my Shadowhunters fic “The Moon” which I actually getting a chapter tomorrow for the first time in a month :’)

I watched the show over my senior spring break and I think it came at a perfect time because I was having anxieties about leaving high school and moving onto college so the show has become very special to me (currently reading the book series now) so I really like going back through the episodes (after I binged it in three days😭) and writing them out with some OCs :)

Anyway, enough of me rambling on. Yes! I’d love a dedication ^^

Anyways, Mila’s familiar is crab.

My logic is this– since she’s a selkie, she needs a familiar that’s either aquatic ir (ideally) semi-aquatic so they can be by her side in either of her forms. Her familiar needs to be more sociable than Eurydice’s, i think. I just feel this in my bones. So, this little crab can just cling onto her whether she’s swimming or walking. And they could hide in her pockets with all the clutter she picks up :)

Anyway, their name is Clutter (aka Clutterbitch /affectionate). Their likes include long walks on the beach, riding on inanna’s and mila’s back while they are running/swimming very fast, stepping on things you are baking, and bouncing up and down in time to music like a toddler in the sims.

30 DAYS WRITING CHALLENGE;

‌ Day 13 - Autumn: James Isaac Rogers Carter

Os dias de folgas de James estavam se tornando escassos com o passar dos anos, algo que acontecia geralmente duas vezes na semana passara a ser somente uma, entre os plantões, seu real trabalho no hospital, os deveres em casa com Auradon, seus deveres com suas famílias, tanto a biológica quanto a recém construída, e principalmente, os deves com os new avengers. Sim, contava com a ajuda de Auradon, Nathaniel, Belonna, dentre outros que se disponibilizavam para ajudar na liderança e em todos os assuntos importantes que os cercavam, conquanto, a maior parte estava no colo de James e ele mesmo havia se enfiado em tal situação. E como um bom cabeça dura, não via saída a não ser continuar na tal rotina exaustiva e esperar pelas surpresas que o futuro lhe reservava.

Recentemente, uma notícia desagradável fez do ambiente e convivência família Rogers Carter ainda mais complicada do que costumava ser. Um de seus irmãos mais novos, Benjamin, havia sumido sem deixar nenhum rastro, algo que não era novidade, visto que Benjamin sempre arrumava um jeito de sumir totalmente de todos quando desejava. No entanto, desta vez, nem mesmo o namorado do irmão sabia algo sobre seu paradeiro. Assim que a magia se tornou ineficaz em achá-lo, a luz vermelha se acendeu para todos que viviam com o rapaz, indicando que algo ruim havia acontecido e que deveriam agir o mais rápido possível. Isso fora pensado há cinco meses. Agora, James havia colocado em jogo sua melhor carta de missões silenciosas: Inanna. A única filha de June Moone e Rick Flag era exímia em qualquer missão que fosse necessário agir como um fantasma: Entrar sem ser visto, sair sem deixar nenhum rastro. E nos últimos meses, quem estava seguindo as possíveis pegadas fracas deixadas por Benjamin era Inanna, um trabalho obviamente exaustivo para a morena. James tinha muita fé nela, e que ela fosse descobrir alguma coisa importante a respeito do paradeiro do irmão.

Enquanto não havia resposta nenhuma para compartilhar com os irmãos e com os amigos, James tentava ocupar sua mente da mesma maneira em que fizera nos últimos anos. O dia de folga estava com a agenda completamente lotada, visto que fizera compromisso com várias pessoas no mesmo dia. De manhã, pediu ao pai - não somente o biológico, mas também o pai Bucky - que o recebesse em sua casa. Via na figura paterna um porto seguro, a pessoa com quem podia contar quando queria ser somente uma criança reclamona ou chorona, sem ter nenhum problema a resolver ou situação para lidar. O local onde podia somente tomar um café e conversar o quanto fosse necessário, e obviamente, pedir vários conselhos.

A tarde, James deixara reservado para a filha. Sharon ainda era muito nova e muitas vezes incapaz de entender o porquê do pai passar tão pouco tempo em casa, mesmo quando James fazia o possível e o impossível para estar na presença dela e de Auradon. Não gostava da ideia de ser um pai ausente e perder os melhores momentos do crescimento da filha, e muitas vezes deixava boa parte de seus trabalhos incompletos quando a criança pedia que brincasse de chazinho da tarde consigo. E em seu âmago, não se importava de maneira alguma em deixar várias coisas não finalizadas e literalmente amontoadas para um possível “depois” que chegaria mais cedo que o esperado. Naquele dia, o único pedido da criança era que fosse até o parque com ela. O clima frio do outono estava ameno, o dia ensolarado, o que tornava propício para deixar que Sharon corresse por todo o parque e socializasse com as demais crianças presentes. A parte de socializar de maneira tão fácil fazia jus ao sangue Rogers.

Assim que estavam de acordo sobre todos os cuidados a serem tomados, James deixou que Sharon se aventurasse no imenso mundo do parque. O cheiro de sidra de maçã e as famosas tortas de abóbora tomavam o ar, assim como os gritos e risadas das demais crianças, o som dos brinquedos, as bolhas de sabão no ar, acompanhadas das folhas avermelhadas e alaranjadas que caíam lentamente das árvores, tomando o chão aos poucos e estalando ao serem pisadas. Apesar de deixar a filha ter liberdade de escolher onde iria, estava a todo momento com os olhos atentos na figura menor. James confiava sem hesitação na filha, porém, não confiava na índole das demais pessoas. Poderia dizer que aprendera a não ser tão inocente tomando bastante pancada da vida.

Não demorou muito para que James tivesse o celular encostado no ouvido, enquanto barganhava por um copo do famoso pumpkin spice latte, sendo extremamente sincero, um dos seus favoritos da temporada. Do outro lado da linha estava Nathaniel, o qual detalhava o máximo possível sobre uma possível missão que fora dada aos new avengers, mas seria necessário a ajuda dos avengers originais. James nunca fora alguém ansioso, mas quando uma situação tão séria assim era lhe jogada para resolver, seu primeiro pensamento era pedir ajuda a quem já tinha muito mais experiência. Nathaniel, pelo contrário, gostava apenas de pedir ajuda quando tudo estava difícil e quando já tinha utilizado todas as letras do alfabeto em seus planos. As vezes, James gostaria de questioná-lo sobre o que aconteceria quando o plano z falhasse.

Não muito longe dali, Sharon havia parado de correr com algumas crianças que acabara de conhecer, encantada pela beleza de uma árvore próxima, e principalmente dos tons fortes das folhas que caíam. Tão distraída que não percebera a aproximação de uma figura alta, vestida de roupas pretas e usando um chapéu também preto. Não parecia ameaçador, e assim que a criança virou o rosto para olhá-lo, achou que se parecia bastante com seu pai. Afinal, o homem tinha o mesmo tom de loiro nos cabelos e o mesmo azul nos olhos. Mas, diferente de seu pai, os olhos do tal homem eram opacos, sua expressão cansada. Pela expressão, Sharon cogitou sentir medo do homem, até que ele sorriu para ela. E assim ela estava entregue àquele sorriso tão caloroso, tão convidativo. ━ Sir, do you know why the tree is losing her leaves? ━ A voz aguda da pequena soou sem hesitação, e o sorriso do homem se manteve enquanto a respondia. A voz era ríspida, com um sotaque semelhante ao da tia Natasha, que a criança tanto adorava. ━ Oh, I do. They’re dying. It’s a bit sad, but she’s gonna be really pretty soon. ━

Com a bebida em mãos, James franziu o cenho ao perceber a filha acompanhada. Interrompendo a possível pergunta que seria feita ao homem por Sharon, a chamou, alterando o tom de voz somente o necessário para que ela o ouvisse na distância em que estava. O alarme de perigo da mente de James pareceu soar o mais alto possível, fazendo com que apressasse o passo até a filha, ignorando as palavras de Nathaniel em seu ouvido. No meio do caminho, fora interrompido por uma mulher, acompanhada de três crianças, parando somente para que não colidisse com esta e acabasse derramando a bebida quente nas crianças. O foco de seu olhar na filha acompanhada saiu por poucos segundos, e assim que voltou, encontrou a criança sozinha. Quando sua passagem foi liberada, andou ainda mais rápido, e assim que possível, questionou com quem a filha dialogava.

Observou Sharon olhar à sua volta, procurando pelo homem. A criança o encontrou distante, do outro lado da rua, sorriu e apontou, dizendo ao pai que era aquele homem. Assim que os olhos de James encontraram a face do homem misterioso, sua única reação fora soltar o copo de latte. Por sorte, soltou-o longe da filha, ou teria possivelmente queimado-a. O par de olhos azuis lhe encarou de volta, um sorriso ladino tomando conta de seus lábios, como se zombasse de James. A pessoa que conversava a poucos segundos atrás com a filha era Benjamin, o irmão sumido que tanto trabalhava para encontrar, trajando roupas que não lhe eram comuns, com uma expressão que também não lhe era comum. Não para James. Ah, James queria gritar, correr até ele, abraçá-lo, perguntar o que havia acontecido. Se tudo estava bem. Mesmo com a possibilidade de ser recebido com socos. Queria chorar, dizer que sentia muito por tudo que havia acontecido, que eles deveriam se aproximar depois da morte da mãe.

No entanto, James fora reduzido a um patético gaguejar do nome do irmão, que não passava das duas e três primeiras letras, deixando o amigo ainda na linha do celular extremamente confuso. Uma eternidade pareceu se passar quando James finalmente tivera a coragem de mover um dos pés na direção do irmão, porém, assim que um carro passou pela figura alta e conhecida, ele não estava mais ali.

definitely minecraft. he finds the game really soothing and can really appreciate all of its little intricacies, secrets, and rituals. definitely cries when he is blown up by a creeper, but he cuts that part out of his videos. his viewers LOVE when faust curls around his neck as he plays.

nadia

even though she gets tired of being in charge of vesuvia IRL she REALLY loves sid meier’s civilization vi. she’s also wayyy too good at it too. she likes making strategy and how-to videos for each of the leaders and their respective countries, but has a fondness for gorgo and hammurabi.

julian

poor julian. he isn’t particularly GOOD at playing video games, he just enjoys it, makes good commentary, and keeps going even after dying tons of times. i feel like he’s a bethesda fan. he really loves the glitches and they make him crack up, which his viewers go crazy for. he probably also makes fan mail unboxing videos to really connect with his fans.

portia

cottagecore queen portia absoLUTELY plays stardew valley. she streams her binges on twitch and has made it to like, year seven on her farm. she definitely romances abigail or emily. she also definitely named the cat pepi. her viewers told her about the existence of my time at portia which was initially exciting (”my time at ME?”), but she didn’t really care for the graphics or the gameplay.

muriel

he LOVES the sims and animal crossing!! he can spend hours creating his family and house on the sims and doing challenges, and really enjoys the monotony of animal crossing. his viewers also really like that he doesn’t speak much, and that when he does it’s very soft and pleasant. he has considered starting an ASMR side channel when his viewers told him that his voice gives them tingles, but it’s a bit too intimate for him. he also likes putting inanna in his thumbnails.

lucio

plays call of duty or like, battle royale games. he sucks though, so he rages out at people a lot. he’s also really partial to red dead redemption online and gta online, but just to grief others really. he doesn’t actually upload to his gaming channel all that often, he prefers to make his money from onłyfans.

Ah yes, @thearcanagame Sims stream. It’s 1 am and I have no regrets, because this was a blast. Highlights from the top of my head:

Muriel’s secret surname, Bigtall

Me saying "give Muriel his Shrek swamp" like 5 minutes in, the chat going wild, and shortly after the devs scrolling through Shrek households looking for a suitable swamp

Lucio getting banished to an empty lot with one pee bush on it

Egg bed for Inanna

Muriel getting a whole forest to himself, but immediately discovering that there's a hidden vampire bar, so the first thing he did is play table football by himself

Welcome wagon arriving... and consisting only of Lucio

Lucio and Muriel backfloating in the pond together??

Muriel having no bath and having to go to Nadia and Asra's place because Inanna was really stinky because of a skunk

5 minutes in, Nadia setting herself on fire. She doesn't take a shower for the rest of the stream. Crispy.

Asra basically acting in-character the whole damn time, leaving food on the counter and having no concept of privacy

Muriel "trolling teh forums" while being sad, specifically trolling Lucio on fancy car forums, and then becoming happy from that :)

1. When did you start playing?

... but seriously, late 2018.

2. What got you into the game?

I read the tarot and follow astrology, and I had vaguely played some 'dating sims' kind of mobile games before. I guess that makes me the prime market for targeted ads for the game, because I started getting them nonstop.

And by nonstop I mean, I probably saw one (1) image of Julian and it was over for me.

3. Who was your first route?

As hinted, it was Julian's. I try not to play favorites with the front 3 routes, as I do see them all as one intertwining narrative - but Julian will forever be my first and my sweetest.

6. Who do you play in heart hunter?

I haven't played HH in a dog's age (I have all the postcards and more coins than brains at this point), but I always played as Inanna. (I pretended it was Vasalisa.)

20. Do you have an apprentice?

Yes! I do. Her name is Iris Keshet, and I have a whole epic (truly, 500k+ words) written about her - the Iris Oracle. I also have an additional OC, Lazuli Keshet, and an in-progress work about her called Weights & Measures.
