noelle holiday age progression chart

without height lines

explanations of designs:

hi yall

so, i actually finished this drawing like a week ago lol. but i didnt want to post a bunch of drawing in a row, and then i got sick, so i havent been able to post it till now!

its my imaginings of what noelle looked like as she grew up, and a potential adult noelle design! ill explain my thought processes about these designs below, if anyones interested 😁

i also plan on doing one of these with dess, but this one was pretty difficult, so it might be awhile before that (unless yalls are interested in seeing it?)

first off, im not 100% sure ill keep using all these designs. some of them im not that happy with (im no good at designing outfits 😔) but i just went with them so i could finish the drawing. so if anyone has any alternative outfit ideas for any of her ages, id be interested in seeing/hearing it!

secondly, something that may stick out to yall for all the designs is how tall she gets. its the same height i normally draw her with, but given how i usually draw her by herself you cant really tell how tall she is! i have 3 main reasons for why i headcanon her as this tall: deer are pretty tall irl, so having her be tall makes sense in my head; i just like the look of her being super tall, it makes me happy lol; and third, i personally also headcanon the holiday family as boss monsters (i think ive explained this headcanon before on here, so i wont explain again, unless someone is interested ^^). so yeah, she ends up being 7 feet tall as an adult, the second tallest in her family!

also, i gave all her children forms stripes in some way, as a reference to when monster kid in undertale says they can tell frisk is a kid because of their stripes!

now onto my explainations for individual drawings!

theres nothing really to say about her baby design. the only thing i did that might be new is give her faun spots! they are most plentiful on her baby form, but they persist until shes in her teens, i would say (on here you cant see them after age 7, but thats just because i imagine they are mostly on her back). and i gave her a cute lil onsie that says a-deer-able! if you guys cant read it ^^

this outfit i made for her toddler design is actually an outfit ive used in the past! i wonder if yall know what drawing it was? its pretty much the same as it was there, i just added a stripe to the shirt. i felt like overalls are so reminiscent of childhood, i had to give at least one of her designs them! i also added a little mistletoe to the front pocket, to make it more christmas-esque. and i gave her some bandaids, just cause.

7 years old is one of the designs i really struggled on, and im still not happy with it. i dunno if ive said this yet, but i headcanon noelle to be trans, so at 7 is when i decided she started realizing it. so here i gave her long sleeves and pants, to show how shes more hidden now because shes unhappy with herself, if that makes any sense? i was also trying to make her look a bit like a nerd, with the button up and khakis, just because its funny. but yeah, ill probably end up changing this design at some point :P

11 years old was one of the easiest to do, considering how ive had her design for this age for awhile lol. one thing i did change was going from 2 red/white stripes to one, but ive done that before, so it wasnt something entirely new. i also gave her a smile and closed eyes, cause shes happy being a girl 🥰. other that that, its the same, so yeah, thats it for this part

okay, this next design is a fairly different looking one than all the rest, but i have my reasons! at this point in noelles live, dess has gone missing, so i wanted to show her being sad and stuff. i also gave her shoes and long sleeves because she probably goes out looking for dess when she can, hoping to find a lead 😭. but outside of in-story stuff, this outfit is based off of an old one i drew, but its fairly edited, so i wouldnt be surprised if no one recognizes it even if they have seen my old stuff. she has straight hair here, to show how unhappy she is (idk what it is about straight hair it just feels sad) and because i wanted to give her different hair varieties on this progression chart. i gave her antlers 2 prongs each at this point, because the way i see deer monsters, their antlers show their growth/aging, so youll see them getting bigger and having more prongs as the chart continues.

this outfit for 15 is another one i dont like. i tried to make it similar to her current outfit, but still pretty different. im not even sure what precisely i dont like about this outfit, it just doesnt feel that good. for this one i gave her leg warmers because i used to (and sometimes still do) draw her normal outfit with them. i gave her the curly hair she has as a callback to when i used to draw her hair like that! but yeah, ill probably end up redoing this one too

for 17, i just gave her the normal outfit, so it was easy ^^. in game i think shes 16, but close to turning 17, so i just went with 17 here to fit the +2 age pattern thing i had going on. i also gave her an extra horn prong than i normally give her, just to show age once again

finally, her adult design! i dont like this one either lol. i spent so long trying to think of what outfit to give her, but i couldnt come up with something i liked >.< so i just gave her something simple. i feel like once noelle graduates high school and probably goes to college she branches out more and tries things her mother never let her do, which is why i gave her an outfit like that, that has a crop top and a shorter skirt. also, yalls might recognize the hair style i gave her, i drew a potential adult noelle before and i gave her the same hair ^^

more reigen is dead and a ghost now sillies ft. mob all grown up. a couple other things under the cut

bonus older (~40s) mob bc im happy w her design. luckily her and reigen's designs just came out of the pen pretty naturally not many iterations necessary. mob's felt like a natural progression from my ~24 y/o design, and i kinda feel like reigen never really changes up his look, he just. ages. he's gonna be wearing a pink tie when he's like 80 (well, i mean not in this au, but, yknow). im kind of dreading designing the others.. i think tome should be pretty easy i have a fairly clear vision of her in my mind but i;m not so sure about serizawa. i know im gonna give him a beard though. others may come into this eventually if i get the ideas for it . i feel like designing older shou would be fun in particular

anyways. this sort of started cus i wanted to make an 'intro' comic to the au besides the post i already have, but i couldnt figure out a good way to get what i had in mind to a comic.. basic 'story so far' is that while off on a job at like.. ive had it as a parking garage in my mind for some reason. anyways, reigen serizawa and tome* out on a job, you know the story from the other post, reigen falls down some concrete stairs REAL badly, bonks his head right on the edge of one, beefs it.

(*tome at this point has her own job stuff going on- Professional Ufologist Babeeey you KNOW she's gotten interviewed for ancient aliens. BUT she still does stuff with s&s when she can.)

he comes to kind of gradually, like, feels like he's been walking for half an hour but onl having just become aware of it. he doesn't realize he's dead for a bit, just kind of feels 'floaty' and not-quite-there, with a vague awareness that Something Has Gone Wrong. he keeps walking, unable to remember what he was just doing, and finds himself drawn to mob's place, and fully realizes Something Is Super Wrong when he tries to knock on the door and his hand goes right through. meanwhile on the other side of town serizawa and tome are having a supremely bad time. things'll settle down when everyone learns reigen's not Entirely Gone but it's Not good at the moment

(also, something im not sure yet how to resolve is that tome wouldnt be able to see reigen?? hes a very weak spirit so hes not visible to your average non-esper and i dont know if he'd even be able to possess anyone either (in the sense that tome could see dimple after being possessed by him).)

also so imprtant to me that mob has a cat that's very important

Dead Plate (Part 1)

hello!! its been a while since ive posted but here i am!!! so this game is Dead Plate created by STUDIO INVESTIGRAVE

i had played one of their games before, Elevator Hitch, and i really really enjoyed it! so im very excited for this new game that theyve released

though, this game is probably really different from Elevator Hitch, because that game was a visual novel type of game while this one has restaurant tycoon gameplay

still, im very excited

i hope i can get all the endings today (but probably not) as always, spoilers under the cut!

i know its literally just the title screen BUT it looks very classy

also the music? its a bop like yo BellKalengar is the composer and sound designer and like yo!! amazing job its literally just the title screen and im amazed already LMFAO

alright then lets begin

lolol i like the way they named the buttons for doing the tutorial, skipping the tutorial or just leaving the game on auto progress time to show up at 5 am then

the art is really cute these characters are really cute too esp the protag

i know its just the tutorial but i am very nervous LOL doing service jobs make me nervous (even tho this is only a fictional one)

bro protag why did u skim the interview thing 😭 is that why u've had 28 jobs in 7 years 💀

ooh interesting the cooks have an order in which they cook meals i need to remember that

wow so theres a lot to do huh theres seating the customers, taking their orders, bringing those orders to the kitchen, serving the food, going to the cash register to take their payments, cleaning up the tables AND throwing out the trash its a lot more than i was expecting,,,, lol good luck to me i guess

so like fun fact im actually not that good at playing games LOL esp this kind of game where theres like people and they have like a happy meter kind of thing going on i wonder if any of the endings will be tied to how well we do during the work day ?? probably

also can i just say that the music is really good i like the kinda jazzy (is that the right word??) vibes going on

it makes me less nervous about serving customers since its very chill LOL

like what is up with the boss? who is this girl that the protag likes so much? what is up with his weird nightmares??? and will i ever be able to finish day 5 ?????

I love the dynamic in the barbie meme pic. it just makes me love Lily more now and i love the way Azura is just done with her crap lol im excited on how you develop Azura going forward, though for a design standpoint she does look a little to much like Amity and not enough Luz though that might be the facial expression talking lol

Lily works off of sibling energy and since Azura doesn't have one, she doesn't understand how Lily can be so chaotic and responsible at the same time.

When Azura is grumpy I feel like she looks like Amity did, with how cat like Amity's expressions are, but when Lily is happy she's more like Luz.

This however is still a work in progress as I work on her design

1. Fav characters besides Lum and Ataru ?? Aaaaa I would have to go with the big three:

RAN: she’s so fockin funny and her personality switch up is my fav and not to mention her character design is BEAUTIFUL like I feel like if you saw a pic of Ran without knowing any of the characters you would think she’s the main protagonist

SHINOBU: it’s crazy how Shinobu was originally the main character alongside Ataru before Lum was (I know she was robbed from the spotlight and her man but STILL) and I love how insane hers and Lum’s rivalry was like holy shit I felt so bad for Shinobu. But as the series progressed I’m glad the two became friends and the awkward tension between the three characters died down (Shinobu, Lum, and Ataru). I also luv how much of a sweet heart and has such a gentle voice, but could flip a bus if she needed to AND be beating TF out of men 10x her size.

2. Okay funniest moments aaaaaa I would say there’s too many to count but I think one would be the time where Lum was training to fight this bully without her powers to prove to a underclassmen like “you can do anything if you put your mind to it.” And Lum arm wrestles Ataru and just completely fails and when Mendo gets a turn she just SHOCKS THE SHIT OUTTA HIM

Another would be the time with the gossiping flowers, and everyone thinks Mendo wet the bed when he was younger when it was actually Lum and she just LEAVES HIM OUT TO DRY AND TAKE THE BLAME. Wait now that I realize it these are just when Mendo gets hurt by Lum, I PROMISE I DONT DISLIKE MENDO AT ALL IT’S JUST FUNNY

3. Moments I’m most excited for the show, look I know Urusei Yatsura isn’t only about Atalum and I like the episodes we’re getting but CMONNN. WE’RE GETTING SO MUCH ATALUM CENTERED EPISODES AND IM SO SO SO EXCITED IM EATING PLYWOOD. Particularly very happy to see the Inaba arc (finally Shinobu gets a good man even though it’s kinda rushed) and the Boy Meets Girl ending AAAAAAAAA IDC IF ITS THE SAME SCENES WE’VE SEEN TWICE ALREADY IM ENJOYING EVERY MINUTE OF IT.

But Tysm Yume for the ask !! I could go on for hours talking about this series bc I’m literally in UY BRAINROT but I hope you have a GUD dayyy 💗💗💗

can you talk about why you disliked undertale yellow? never played it or watched a playthrough but i’m very curious!

PREFACING THIS WITH A DISCLAIMER i know it is a passion project and it makes me Feel Bad that my feelings on it r this negative. i do not mean to discredit the years of work anybody put into it and i am So Happy that the general consensus is that people really liked it! i'm glad the team's work paid off. i am also going to be SUPER opinionated. undertale is my biggest interest of all time it has been my special interest for going on Nine Years . i am Wired to have very strong feelings on it . please do NOT take my opinion as a message to Not enjoy it if you do! play it and form an opinion on ur own time

also SPOILERS for the game!

that being said

i will first state the things i Enjoyed

music was phenomenal! it was very fun and atmospheric

artwork was very good! it makes me a little sad that the canon characters we see didn't really get the tlc/polish that all of the original content did, but that's ok!

i like how smarmy flowey was in the no mercy run. it was a little ooc at times but i had a blast (which will sadly become a negative) partly bc of his attitude

i love mo as a character. im going to rescue him from this game i just know it

ok. things that frustrate me from least to most (i will try to keep this brief bc i WILL go on a tangent if left unrestrained)

i wish the main cast had more variety in monster types. body shape, proportions, colors, etc! with how wide the array of the cast is in ut, it's just a little sad that the main cast here all roughly have the same build, height, and aren't really "monstery". lots of the non-main characters (i am including the feisty five in here) have more diverse and visually interesting designs to me and i wish there was just a bit more variety

add-on to the previous point: something abt the fact that dalv just kind of looks like a human Guy who is Purple with Horns makes me irrationally irritated. they could have put a little more of a bat motif in there or Something because the first time i saw him i genuinely didn't think he was supposed to be a monster

some of the fights are NONSENSE BULLSHIT HARD for no reason. some of these have been fixed since release but there were multiple segments that weren't even like. main story character fights that made me want to rip my hair out. additionally the shops are FEW and FAR between. it was a STRUGGLE to get enough healing items 90% of the time and i had to ration them out constantly

i know most were patched out and this is kind of a nitpick but the complete ABUNDANCE of grammatical and spelling errors on release took me out of the flow of things SO much. places that desperately needed a comma that had none, words completely misspelled (outside of punchlines for jokes), things like that. it wouldn't have been such a problem but it happened SO much and really got into the way of making sure dialogue progressed as normal. speaking of

i'm so sorry. half of the dialogue and jokes make me want to shriek and scream in agony. maybe it's just not my cup of tea and nobody is forcing you to have completely toby-fox-accurate jokes in your game but the majority of the jokes made in the pacifist/neutral runs fall completely flat for me. the general dialogue is very fanfic-esque to me in a way ? i do Not know how to describe it. it's not Good. along w that i'm sorry but in my opinion the way they wrote asgore in there is COMPLETELY out of character. i'm going to be so so honest mr king "fuzzy pushover" fluffybuns isn't going to go GET OUT OF MY SIGHT AND NEVER RETURN!!!!! the man got beat up by a child and took her in to train her. like yeah his garden is sentimental or whatever but like. he is such a Nice Guy. he would Not do that

the timeline does not make Any sense. if frisk is the first human to fall in YEARS to the point where everyone is losing hope of ever getting another soul for the barrier and most monsters don't recognize you as a human and let you interact w them freely why in the Fuck are undyne and alphys just like. alive and kicking here. why is alphys doing amalgamate shit already. what is going ON

and finally. the part that makes me the Most Irritated

i cannot fucking stand the story. I AM SORRY

i physically cannot expound on this as much as i want to bc the post is long enough as it is and i'll go on forever but generally speaking

i Do Not Like ceroba. i didn't really feel any connection or anything to any of the other characters in General but her entire deal and everything that surrounds it just makes me So Mad. like ok. i tried to get past the "oh my husband is a super important scientist (but not the royal scientist because that's alphys teehee but still REALLY important) and he's also secretly a boss monster (even though the only boss monsters we see are the Actual Fucking King and Queen of monsters and are the same monster subtype)" shit but like. THEN it's like. oh he's actually making a super secret magic serum that uses essence from a boss monster soul and a human soul (where did he get that. he made this after he was fired from his job. where did he get a human soul from) to give EVERY monster the power of a boss monster so that when we EVENTUALLY get enough souls to get to the surface (could literally be hundreds of years from now) we'll be strong enough to beat the humans (that's why asgore is collecting the souls in the first place. to shatter the barrier and become a god strong enough to beat the humans. that's the Point)

but WUH OH!!!! the serum is actually KILLING him!!!! and he never told his wife! so he leaves a series of tapes behind to tell her abt it after he dies and IN THESE TAPES he's like listen. here's this awesome potion im making. you need a BOSS MONSTER SOUL and a HUMAN SOUL to make it work. our daughter IS a boss monster. BUT. do NOT FUCKING use it on her. ok. DON'T. do that. ok love you (dies) AND FUCKING. her like 6 year old daughter walks in and speaks in a perfect eloquent sentence and says some shit like "we have to carry on daddy's legacy :(" and asks to be injected w the shit that we saw kill her dad SECONDS PRIOR and ceroba is virtually IMMEDIATELY like well ok if the kindergartner says it's fine. AND OF COURSE HER DAUGHTER IMMEDIATELY FALLS DOWN????

and when i tell u the like. WHOLE second half of the game is dedicated to this bullshit nonsense. ceroba has this whole thing where she's trying to kill you because you're pure of heart or whatever and it'll work for the serum or something and after a LONG ASS (stupid incredibly hard for no reason considering SHE IS NOT a boss monster) battle w her she's like ok i'm not gonna do that anymore i give up kill me etc. and in pacifist you're like nah i won't kill u i forgive you Hooray!

and so. right. youve been fighting the ENTIRE TIME. to find the missing kids. to get home. to leave the underground after figuring out what happened. there are only FIVE human souls at this point. having one more will NOT break the barrier. you've been fighting to LIVE this Entire Time. the story must end in clover's death SOMEHOW but literally the driving force here has been survival

clover is literally like ummmm ok well im gonna give up my soul right here right now to add it to the pile. *dies on rooftop ALONE* . the shriek i screamed when this happened was. Astronomical. like. oh yeah everybody let the 9 year old give their life for a civilization that has been trying to kill them this Entire Time. never mind the fact it makes all of the fighting and striving and grueling we did Worthless because clover decides to sacrifice themselves completely out of the player's control. this wouldn't make me AS mad if we had like. a choice like the forgive him/do not asriel thing where we could face asgore and be forced to lose OR sacrifice ourselves but even then it's just. SO silly to me.

i think i get the like. doomed parents sad child dreemurr parallels they were TRYING to go for but it is all so clunky and wonky and. just DOES not work narratively if you think about ANY aspect of it for too long

all of these factors combined made the game a complete and total Slog to get through . it is Not just me i streamed it to a few friends the whole time and the opinion was the Same

HOWEVER.

the no mercy run, completely against what it is MADE to do, was fucking awesome

the passive aggressive comments from flowey the entire time were hilarious. the power trip i got chasing axis was splendid. i didn't have to sit through pages of dialogue that made my eye twitch. i just got to Kill People.

i do Not like the fact that they seemed to think no mercy = Hard Bosses which. isn't really true for undertale ? out of the normal bosses only two are ramped up in difficulty and it thematically makes sense Why. in uty martlet gets multiple fights (including a Bullshit Insane Hard Final Fight), ceroba gets a Bullshit Insane Hard fight w a new mechanic that is introduced out of Nowhere and took me like 6 times to notice that it was even Implemented, and axis gets a tough fight. which is Fine but i do not think it really understood the message of like. the no mercy run is not supposed to be Fun. you are eviscerating this world and everything it has to offer. you're literally Killing the game. it's a tricky thing to balance but all in all No part of it made me feel bad. this could be due to me Already not really caring abt any of the characters but. sigh

also martlet gets really strong at the end bc she injects herself w dt but like. why does she know about that. she does guard stuff Near the Lab but why does she Know about the experiments. the whole point is that nobody Else Knows. where did she get that from. what the fuck

okay. im going to talk about the fnaf movie.

SPOILERS UNDER READ MORE!!!

overall, i thought it was very good. somehow making a whole series of a video game condensed into 1.5 hrs is not something easy to do. i think with what they were working with, they executed it pretty well. costume design was superb, and the acting from josh hutcherson was amazing.

that being said, i did find some scenes didn't belong. for example the fort scene, though i'm sure many people have pointed that out already.

i felt like they were trying to tow the line between silly/cute and scary/suspenseful, but in my opinion i don't think they needed to do that? i think if they leaned in fully to the horror aspect it would have still been a very enjoyable experience.

the scenes with vanessa disappointed me, just a bit. it felt like she was only there to progress the story/exposition. and the fucking fort scene with her... in that scene, vanessa is like "oh freddy fazbears' is so fun yayayayay" and then literally in the next scene she's telling mike "if you ever come back here IM GOING TO SHOOT YOU" ???????????? like why? what did mike even do?

the old bf made an observation that william afton was just straight up not fleshed out, at least not as much as either one of us had hoped.

i personally think if they had just included like... a 5 minute scene of william afton on his killing spree (without outright showing william afton), it would have done alot for his character. i felt like he was just kind of thrown in there towards the end, which makes me sad bc william afton is such a unique character with sooo much backstory integral to the lore of fnaf, and it just felt like he was alluded to the whole movie? idk.

there were some questionable moments. it was funny how freddy literally just murders the aunt and no one even questions it? mike would have come home to a literal corpse in his house, how does he explain that to the police?

and it made me sad how little they showed of foxy. :( foxy is my all time favorite (i literally brought a giant stuffed foxy plush with me to the movie) and it felt like he was the most forgotten animatronic. bonnie seemed to be the main center of attention tbh, he was in almost every scene where the animatronics were. but it makes sense since scott cawthon thinks bonnie is the creepiest animatronic lol.

those are my main criticisms.

but i still loved it, very much so!

when the matpat cameo came on screen... it was a shocker. i gasped so loud. the people in the movie theater literally laughed at me lol bc i gasped SO LOUD, I COULDNT HELP IT i was so shocked. AND WHEN HE SAID ITS ONLY A THEORY???? i ate it up. idc if it's cheesy, I ATE IT UP.

also i thought it was cool that the movie is (i think but could be wrong) five nights long! a little easter egg that i thought was neat. the old bf pointed this out to me.

another nice touch is in the beginning of the movie when mike is reading that dream theory book. a good callback to matpat's dream theory on fnaf (you know the one). and it's also a good way to tie in what's currently happening to mike with his dreams in the movie.

i really appreciated the subtle little ways they tied in the movie with the games, like the little "it's me" in the mirror during the scene with mike in the security room. and foxy's humming!!!! i loved it i loved it i loved it! the little noises they used from the game made me so happy!

but yeah. i'll stop ranting bc i can go on forever lol. while it had it's flaws, i don't think they affected the overarching storyline.

this is it my gamers. eight years in the making, and this is the end result.

my score? 4 cupcakes out of 5. :>

General Bio:

A low ranked Fatuus with chip on his shoulder. Quick with a smile and wink; Lev plays dumb in order to mask his true intelligence. Has worn a fake smile his whole life. He acts the fool in order to go unnoticed by his peers and higher ups. Is seen largely as a nuisance by his peers; and though by design, other's perception of him has caused him to develop quite a complex.

Personality :

Charming and flirty, Lev is a man to know. Equipped with a silver tongue and quick with a wink. He is overly nonchalant and easy going, so much so that he is seen as someone who does not take anything seriously. He acts air headed, but truthfully he is a highly component strategist. Below his easygoing attitude is an impossibly pessimistic, and shrewd man.

BACKSTORY

01. Family

Snezhnayan born, Lev grew up in a small village as the middle brother to a family of 5. Snezhnaya prides itself on being a nation with strong family bonds. The terrain is so cruel that one wrong step is all it takes for disaster to strike. A strong united family front is imperative. That didn't really stop Lev's family, however. Affection was practically unheard of, the air always tense. The house was so cold that often times the snowstorms that surrounded them looked warm and comforting in comparison. Lev's family ran a charcoal business -- and all members were expected to contribute. Lev -- having no talent for the craft -- was often forgotten about by both his siblings and parents. On his tenth birthday, he was given his first and only birthday present: An enlistment notice from the Fatui. He was packed and gone the next day. As he watched his family house slowly grow smaller and smaller from the back of the carriage he was sat in: he tried to feel any emotion and found he could find none.

02. Fatui

It didn't take long for Lev to realise he hated his new life as a Fatuus. He was gifted: both in battle as well as strategically. He was seen as sort of a protegee, at the start. At first, he was happy to finally be acknowledged. Seen for a skill he possessed. One he achieved on his own. But once he had to kill, had to see the blood of another run and dye the snow a dark red, had to scrub, and scrub, and scrub the splatters out of his clothes... He knew he would not be cut out for this life. So, he deliberately slowed his progress. Once seen as a protege, now a fallen-star. It stung, how the people that once looked at him with awe now looked at him with disappointment. He forced a smile, a laugh. It was the intented effect... So there was no use to dwell on it. No use to dwell on the rumours that spread when he grew older. How he was only being kept around for his looks, his body. How he was useless, a good-for-nothing. He continued to laugh, to smile. For if he did not laugh, he would drown.

03. Fatui

Those within the Fatui state that the organization runs on loyalty. The statement is not incorrect: but the way that loyalty is gained is not through trust: but rather, through fear. Those lower ranked have no clue what the Tsarista's intentions are truly -- all they know is that they must believe in Her. Blind trust in one whom gives no trust back has always left a deep unease within Lev. In fact, he's found it vile --, ever since he was nominated into as a Fatuus by his family all those years ago. The way he and his fellow Fatuus are supposed to seemingly grovel at the feet of the Harbringers and the Tsaritsa. The way they simply must be content with the harsh treatment: the lack of basic respect. Mindless, loyal cattle to be used as seen fit. Willing to serve, always. Abhorrent -- all of them. Serving under La Signora for a while before her timely death did nothing but exaggerate the feeling of resentment. She was always one of the worst ones to deal with. Cruel to the bitter end. (On the night the news was spread -- while others mourned their Harbringer's passing -- Lev drank in his room, a genuine smile streched upon his lips.) He would never dared to speak such heresy out loud, however. He's not an idiot; despite his best efforts to appear as such. The less someone expects him to know, the easier it is for him to discover hidden truths. What he intends to do with this information is unclear to him. But seeing as no one has any respect for him within the organization, it's only fair he extends the same treatment, right? Besides -- he will inevitably die either by his own hand or by his fellow Fatuus. A thought that keeps him up at night, frozen: but it is an inevitable outcome. Might as well satiate his curiosity before the time comes. Lev sees himself as a man with no hobbies, nor talents. However, he has an affinity for mechanical machines and general things that fall under that umbrella. Sheznaya is the most technologically advanced out of the seven regions of Tevyat, so this area of study is not only widely available, but encouraged. Though he possesses immense skill in the area: he does not wish anyone to find out about it. His level of skill could potentially land him higher up in the ranks -- an outcome he wishes to avoid if possible. There's a risk that a harbringer may take notice of him if he were to climb any higher... And that's a scenario he wishes to avoid: no matter what.

you know how i almost exclusively watch one-season cancelled anime? im watching GANGSTA. from 2015.

bodyguard nic and former client worick (who looks very much like geralt thewitcher) rescue a prostitute from a really unpleasant situation and engineer a scenario in which she gets to kill her abuser (good), do not take advantage of her as she crashes on their couch and becomes their receptionist (also good) figures out how to be a person again and goes through some PTSD (surprisingly good treatment bc this could have gone So Bad), but this is a very tits-out, ass-out show (less enjoyable). let her wear something that covers the bottom of her ass please.

there are not a lot of things this anime does very well. i mostly watched it because i couldn't be bothered to get up and move my cat off my legs. anime news network remarked (on the manga) "a languid execution of a promising story" and i largely agree. fun character designs, stylish action sequences, a fun look at all the other odd jobs these "handymen" get up to in their neighborhood in between their own occasional prostitution and more frequent wet work. a little thin on actual plot or character progression, it's uncomfortably between a slice of life and something with more traditional pacing and doesn't really do either thing well. im perfectly happy to watch things unfold in this city with an unusual ruling structure, but many people do die every other episode and that's really getting in the way of me learning about the no-go zone they live in.

one of the leads, nic, is deaf and the sign language is well done, but the lip reading isn't. even with people i know very well i find lip reading useful about 40% of the time and even then it's not full sentences or full words, but parts of words i didn't catch. many mouth sounds look the same!

how'd i find this: wanted to watch some anime while i did some very tedious personal data entry, it's free on tubi and there are only 13 episodes bc the studio went bankrupt in the middle of making this show.

less of a making and more of a driving? the evil lair has acquired a new receptionist. she is five and a half pounds, probably not quite a year old, and is on medical leave recovering from surgery but we expect she'll fit right in and take all the admin duties over very soon.

infinite and forever thanks to @itsybitsydragon who did all the hard work of actually catching the beast and taking her to the shelter. it took her about twenty hours to decide oh okay im never going outside again if i can help it :)

she's a mysterious delight bc she doesn't seem to have a real concept of what a house or furniture is, or what toys are, but DOES just want to be curry combed with the hard bristly side of the pet brush forever and ever and ever amen. i look forward to getting to know her better and im sure she'll have a long and prosperous career here in the evil lair, which has a lot of room for upward growth and rewards initiative, such as biting and biting and biting.

Hi! i just started reading your confessions comic and i am OBSESSED!! and i didnt want to spam you by rbing all of your posts so i am going to write my Thoughts here :3

First of all i just wanted to say how much youve improved over the course of making this comic!! the lineart is so much Smoother and neater, the shading is so PRETTY, i love how youve done the backgrounds, whether you actually draw them or put flowers or something else behind the characters, and the layout looks so much more proffesional and puts the focus on the right things!! ALSO your anatomy has improved sm and i love all the wild expressions!!

Also i LOVE the teal colouring with pink accents, its such a pretty combo and its kinda like your trademark now!!

And obviously the whole story is so GOOD. i love how you cranked up the Idiot Meter to 1000000 bc YEAH theyre IDIOTS!! I loved the whole Clownbug part with ladybug discovering chats in love with marinette and being ANGRY abt it, its one of my favourite flavours of love square, and pt 6 of the comic was also SO entertaining!! miscommunication my beloved <3

I also love the first panel of pt nine, its just so pretty!! and ofc the shenanigans with the design contest, it feels v realistic and you absolutely NAILED mari's character!!

And the bee miraculous akuma is GORGEOUS!! it looks v menacing but also rlly cool and i would KILL to see the full design

i also love the way you showed marinettes progress with the jacket!! the montage of them bonding and working on the jacket is so cool <3 (and the shoulder gag is rlly funny lksdjhghjkgfdkjh)

FINALLY the jacket itself is just. BEAUTIFUL. the design on the back is absolutely stunning, and i love how you incorporated the miracle box and roses (did mari draw inspiration from chat? 👀👀) and the pink inside is so cute!! and the paw mark w marinette's signature!! (also i see you have a weakness for bomber jackets and you are RIGHT they ARE the pinnacle of fashion)

and buttercup reveal my beloved!! the blush!! the awkwardness!! the wild expressions and gestures!! i LOVE IT!!

omg omg omg okay I woke up to this, immediately read it FIVE TIMES IN A ROW, and have spent all day trying to figure out how to reply to so many lovely compliments 😭😭😭

THANK YOU SO MUCH OBVIOUSLY it means the world that you read every part and then took the time to type this up! This comic is such a labor of love for me and I'm always trying to work in a lot of fun and cute little details/moments so when people notice and point out those things it makes my heart SWELL WITH JOY. (If you like the hearts on her palms, part ten has some hidden hearts as well heehee)

When I started this my only goals were to scratch my lovesquare itch and get comfortable drawing again after being out of the habit for years. I had, idk maybe ten followers and did not expect anyone to read it or that I would actually manage to draw more than five parts or so AND NOW HERE WE ARE lol. I am so happy that you can see an improvement in the art, not just in how the characters are drawn but stuff like backgrounds and the visual storytelling as well. I hope to get better and better with each part!

Reading your comments about the characterization makes me wanna screech with happiness because I LOVE. THESE. IDIOTS. SO MUCH it is ridiculous!! RIDICULOUS! And as much as I adore leaning into them being incredibly stupid, it is important to me to show how much tenderness lies at the heart of their interactions. They are so, so stupid because they’re so, so sweet. Confessions is very much “journey over destination” because I just want to indulge in as much insanity, humor, awkwardness, confusion, affection, devotion, and partnership I can manage to tease out of their relationship in one story.

The color palette btw was a complete and total happy accident! Sometimes a thing works because you put lots of thought and effort into it, and sometimes a thing works because you fell on it. The color palette is an example of the latter but THE JACKET is an example of the former, haha. The amount of time it took to develop not just the meaning of it but literally the physical design (gotta look like something Marinette might actually make, gotta be something that I can draw a bunch of times, gotta be something that [spoilers redacted], gotta be something that fits over Chat’s shoulders, gotta be something that actually looks good, omg.) I have a whole post about it already but still more to say because I always have more to say! this is so much rambling I’m sorry

One of the big challenges I’ve had in trying to make a comic is figuring out how to balance what to say, what to show, and what to imply. The jacket is first and foremost exactly how Marinette presents it, a means to hopefully reach Adrien and deliver the card from his classmates. The specifics behind the design are more implied. Marinette pours a week of blood sweat and tears into creating this jacket, and as far as Chat Noir sees, she is single-mindedly focused on that task. But we all know she’s ALSO carrying the responsibilities and concerns of being Ladybug. Losing the Miraculous is obviously like... the biggest thing, a terrible and invisible weight that she carries alone!

Except not, because Chat Noir is there. He’s there for Ladybug, he’s there for Marinette, he’s a constant presence in her life and his support allows her to move beyond the shame and horror of losing the Miraculous. Marinette embroiders the symbols of the stolen Miraculous centered around the ladybug and surrounded by irises (sorry they aren’t roses!), and it looks like a topical show of support for her local superheroes; Ladybug embroiders the symbols of the stolen Miraculous centered on the ladybug and surrounded by irises and it’s a promise to her city that she’s going to get them back. (That she stitches the symbol of the cat in the left-hand side of the lining so that it zips over the wearer’s heart might mean something too but that was... more subconscious.)

ANYWAYYYYYYYYYYY I hope that my long-winded rambling comes across appropriately as a sign of JUST HOW THRILLED I am to have received this beautiful thoughtful ask. Hopefully the behind the scenes talk was fun to read haha. I am so honored and I hope you continue to enjoy the story!!

bc ive relistened to this podcast maybe four times now and im coming back to it for a fifth time (in 2 years) and i think i could genuinely listen to it 59 times and still enjoy it just as much as the first time

bc holy shit this is such an incredible podcast and i love noticing the tiny details i missed in the previous listens and just absorbing the dynamics again

anyways here's my totally normal feelings and thoughts dumped out, completely unsolicited and without order:

the sound design and production are everything to me; wolf 359 is the only podcast that I dont have to do another to in order to listen lmao I can, have, and do listen to the podcast at the table with my hands folded or eating dinner like I can still be engrossed in the story just by being still too

hearing hera's voice in episode 1 DFHSDKJG she's so...customer servicey and just the sharp contrast between her in the very first episodes and later on in the series; hilberts voice is changed too for the first episodes -- he sounds high-pitched like he's really trying to sell the character of Alexander Hilbert, quirky and unassuming scientist. listening to them when we're first introduced to them, with the knowledge of who they become and what they do, it hits-- all the nuances in voice is just wow. Like Hilbert's mask slipping briefly, the crack in the character, the facade, as indicted by his voice deepening into his real voice sometimes (I think in the empty man episode)

the Empty Man still creeps me out like it did the first time. The Empty Man always gives me chills.

minkowski holding a gun to fiffel's like how lovelace holds a gun to everyone on board with her bomb like how cutter holds a gun to humanity with the decima virus. how eiffel is humanity and humanity was the only thing hilbert cared about

when minkowski says she's never seen eiffel as happy as he looked in the picture he taped under his desk, the one where he's with anne; eiffel's voice when he first talks about what happened with anne to minkowski, flat and forcibly casual, then raw and bitter...oof

minkowski says in mini episode 6 that "my husbands going to kill me" ....gurl..ur husbands going to witness u get killed on tv..and his company covers the story..

episode 38 "happy endings" was very satisfying and I love the dynamic between hilbert and lovelace. and also:

hilbert is such A Character; everything is for progress, for the big picture. he has morals and boundaries but he'll willing to cross them, he has principles and he's willing to compromise; he wanted so badly for everyone under his care to live but they didnt and he started again. there's no humiliation he won't endure for the big picture. lovelace constantly kept getting outraged on his behalf because he couldn't muster up anything besides determination (resignation) -- which I think is the best part of their dynamic, hes cold, dead steel and she's a blazing, dangerous inferno. they hate each other, they're the only ones who know each other, who remembers the first Hephaestus crew. hilbert did care for the og crew, and he cares for the new Hephaestus crew too, but he cares about decima, the progress of humanity, and the big picture most of all

in ep34 when kepler asks eiffel "what's going on, what's the problem?" in that voice, and i-

I had many conflicted feelings about si5. still do and probably always will with every listen. si5 is...recruiting people at dead ends and rock bottoms because they have no where else to go, no one else to turn to, and its all they have to dedicate themselves to Goddard. si5 are people who have nothing else, so they dedicate themselves to each other. si5 have complexes upon compartmentalizations upon complexes and they're callous, objectively bad people but they're bonded stronger than most families. they're trained, loyal and without hesitation, they trust each other and only each other. they were set up to be invincible, and when they fell, it was spectacularly hard.

what's that one post thats like "what makes w359 incredible is that every character is written like a main character" yeah

when "we try not to be monsters. when we can help it" goes to "the hell do you think we are, ups?" and to "*maxwell collars hera*" [insert tearing teeth out noises]

I think about Kepler's pig joke.

I think about someone saying Kepler's laughter is his cry.

I think part of why Kepler hates Hilbert so much is because when si5 kills, its with a purpose and a plan, and Kepler knows decima will go nowhere further than this so to him, the murders are disgusting because they're purposeless

si5's divide and conquer approach from the very beginning was ruthlessly effective holy shit; but at the same time, I cant help but think about how nice it must feel to have someone who understands, to have an advocate for the first time; Hera with Maxwell, and Eiffel with Kepler

on that note, I never understood why, really; every time, I just cant help but think its hypocritical for any of them to feel distress and anger over murder when theyre responsible for the same crime. but thats human, simply put. jacobi has blood on his hands, he killed hilbert remorselessly, but he's in pain and grief over Maxwell's death--and ig the act of murder doesn't protect u from the fallout of death.

god I fucking love Renee Minkowski so much, so MUCH. and the little things too -- refusing to back down from Kepler in that first bit when he interrupts her solitary confinement for help (satisfying, go girl); and also calling out Jacobi for his shit every time, including the fact that he had a choice to disobey orders, not kill Hilbert, and save Maxwell and he didnt make that call. just - I love her

Jacobi once said something like "Kepler doesnt push people past breaking point" and then kepler realizing hes pushed too far when Jacobi tries to force minkowski to shoot him dead. "please tell me you have a plan" said in a shaky voice, ah

truly I dont know where id be without the "Memoria" episode where Hera uncovers her subconscious saying "I cant do this, im not good enough," and then every single time afterwards she does it anyways. always. that episode impacted me..somuch.

this isn't even close to capturing everything, w359 is truly the chefs kiss. but I had to put this out somewhere.

sorry that everything has been progress shots on Nova so far, but i did finalize the overall color scheme and im super happy with how it's looking so far!! i may make some changes/additions during the linework process but.... very pleased with this (((:

below are some mind-rambles i had while working on this. theyre more or less just some notes/analysis or whatever that just sorta guided my approach tho i did mention a couple of these things before djhsjdsh

addition of small outfit elements to highlight Nova's filipino culture, specifically the galaxy-esque alampay seen in maria clara dresses. seeing as OW is a game that heavily touches on the cultures of some of its characters--whether through their official designs or skins--this led to my unsatisfaction with Nova's former design following its completion.

this decision was more of a personal preference, but i did end up simplifying Nova's modified spacesuit. i love detailed designs, don't get me wrong. however with old Nova, i felt like i ended up prioritizing a lot of detail over it being comfortable for me to draw. it also had a lot of elements too which overwhelmed me, thus the design ended up looking clunky in my eyes.

since much of their upper body is covered by the alampay in the new design, i tried my best not to go overboard with the details of the vest beneath it. it'll be out-of-view most of the time anyways.

old Nova used to have cannons on both arms that channeled their primary fire. to simplify this, new Nova no longer has arm cannons, and now channels their abilities through cosmo-laden arms.

the spirit of the arm cannons, however, do remain apart of her early-OW lore which will be fully explained in another post. in short, she used to rely more on fitted technology that helped stabilize/act as a conduit for their turbulent powers. however, now that several years have gone by (since OW's disbandment) with Nova resonating fully with their powers, the technology is no longer needed.

had to fight a good battle btwn keeping Nova's short hair or changing it to braided hair, but a poll that i hosted on my ig/twt sealed the braided hair as her fate. ultimately, i think that was a good approach due to Nova having a quirk where their hair defies gravity--it'd be easier to show that off now with the movement of longer hair as opposed to shorter hair.

an obvious one, but more saturated colors. galaxies are full of color, though i will admit the colors ive seen from photos do vary from saturated to being muted too. however, a lot of the colors on old Nova were way too muted for my liking.

OKAY, i’m finally watching passion (yes i know im kinda late) soooo here's me voicing my thoughts on the episode in agonizing detail:

- alya seems so done for the millionth time lol

- the picture of him in the flower wreath (?) killed me lmao

- i wonder if the pictures of adrien are ever gonna go away?? you’d think maybe since she keeps saying she’s over him that she’d take them down. just curious

- she left in her pajamas. what a queen.

- did not expect to see a short montage of adrien just randomly saying marinette’s name but i think i’m here for it??

- i’m absolutely loving the mirror art

so for anim:

greatest wish: depressingly but for the most of their life it would be to be completely reborn as someone else. just throw it all away. when theyre older it would be more of just wishing everything with harper just never happened, because they wouldnt want to lose their time with javier

hear no evil: this gets sad. basically anything harper says deals anim psychological damage to the max but especially him calling them a boy not only due to dysphoria reasons but just the bad associations with him and being his. really anyone saying it but with him its the worst

ultimate worst thing is to hear that they arent needed/not good enough. its the fear of abandonment and stems from the bit of "nothing i do seems to make him happy" and their worst fear at that time was upsetting him/pissing him off or just not being loved by him basically. cant relate btw this isnt based off anything.

both harper and zora have said this or stuff like this too it kinda puts anim in a frenzy where theyre like "ill do whatever you want" and is basically desperate to be good enough in their eyes. which obviously leads to bad things. just shit that leads to the fear of abandonment.

they are TERRIFIED of javier saying this and he would NEVER EVER because they are the light of his life but theyre so scared all of the time but finally they learn that like, hell always love them and they dont have to worry about that. but it still is just their worst fear basically.

what to be remembered as: so with their job of like doing undercover murdery things and in general having a low profile, they dont have any big grandiose dreams. probably did as a kid, wanted to be famous and popular and all that but mostly now anim doesnt think of legacy. obviously doesnt want to be forgotten by everyone or anything but yeah. i think they would at least want to leave a lasting positive effect on their loved ones. they want to be remembered as a good role model for kylin or someone who was good to her. which they get that wish for

what he would tell his younger self: basically when he was younger he had this complex of Everyone has to like me So much all of the time or else im worthless and so he would totally tell himself to fucking chill on that. because obviously it led to a lot of bad shit like toxic relationships and over extending himself and the inevitable devastation of not being perfect. he was always somewhat aware that how his mom treated him wasnt fair or ok but still had this underlying issue of "if i cant get validation from her i just need to get it from literally everyone else ever" and he would tell his younger self that like hey, no. seek help

what his partner could do to break his heart: pretty standard stuff like cheating on him, leaving, saying they dont love him basically. for anim specifically it would be more like going back on the progress theyve made like going back to work for zora, leaving him for zora god forbid, or accusing him of not loving them or trying to use them.

inspiration: so i dont remember when i decided to make jamie and kyra half siblings but literally. was honestly fucking like "kind of whorish for a man to have kids with two different women :/" so he was a designated slut from the start. he wasnt supposed to exist as a character he didnt have a name he was literally just jamie and kyras whore dad. and then i tripped and listened to the exit one too many times and was like what if he was MORE than just a whore.... what if he had SUBSTANCE.... and it went from there

love languages: for both DEFINITELY words of affirmation and physical touch and quality time. theyre both very touchy and cuddly and at the very least they like to sit next to each other and be in each others presence. theyre also both insecure and sad so words of affirmation are good but javier is really good at waxing poetic and just saying how much he loves them. anim is more practical and less verbal. like a cat. theyll do things for him that show they really care. and i think they both give gifts but javier does it a lot and likes to get them both things he knows theyll like and things that are meaningful. so theyre very lovey and they also have a lot of sex

HI fe3h anon from earlier. i started playing at like 9 and stopped at 4. did not realize how early it was until i turned the game off because i was at a good stopping point lmao. anyway!

made it to chapter 4 of the first... idk what it's called? section? i chose the black eagles (it was a sort of tough decision, because . off the bat i REALLY liked both edelgard and claude, but i liked the eagles a lot more on average which was the deciding factor). having fun so far! i was expecting to not lovee the actual like. battle mechanics but nope i was totally sucked in. really good gameplay.

as for characters. well. like i said, off the bat i really liked edelgard and claude. honestly as of right now i don't think there's a single eagle i dislike those are all my besties. if i had to pick three (non edelgard, bc she is hands down my favorite so far) characters who were my favorite eagles... right now, probably dorothea, bernadetta, and maybe caspar? but it's genuinely so hard to pick, i like them all.

as for non-eagles, i haven't gotten the chance to know them quite as well yet, so there's more a list of characters i'm interested in learning more about? top of that list is probably ingrid, marianne and hilda. OH and of the like... non-students, i've barely met her but i loveee shamir's voice and design.

genuinely i barely know anything about fire emblem somehow so. i am excited to see how the story plays out!

HIII OH MAN A FULL 7 HOURS OF PLAYING HUH? I TOTALLY WENT THROUGH THE SAME THING WHEN I FIRST STARTED PLAYING. remember to take care of yourself and get some sleep though! but i totally understand the feeling of getting sucked in fdgjdnjg the game does such a great job of doing that! BUT THE OTHER PARTOF ME WANTS YOU TO KEEP GOOOOING... IM SO HAPPY AND EXCITED FOR YOU HEHE

YAAAAY SO HAPPY YOU CHOSE THE BLACK EAGLES KDFNGFD i will warn you rn though based on the writing of edie's route compared to everyone else's..... it's so obvious that teaming up w/ her was thrown in at the VERY last second. i won't say anything just yet but im sure you'll understand what i mean if you play the other routes. and who knows maybe you'll figure it out also just by playing hers? but anyway, no spoilers! but as a heads up edie's route is 4 chapters LESS than the three other stories :/ and there's no like... real resolution to her arc / story? SO much can be accomplished in 4 chapters and they jsut.... man idk, the stopping point was terrible. bc based on edelgard and motivations? her story wasn't yet done.

BUT ANYWAY. ENOUGH OF THAT. SO HAPPY YOU CHOSE THEM AS A FIRST ROUUUTE.... and claude is such a good second choice.. his def would've also been a great starting route. although it's pretty obvious how the blue lions was meant to be the "meat" of the game yk? you find out soooo much more abt *certain* characters and just. yeah. it's sad. but! edelgards route still holds a special place in my heart, regardless of the quality, and i hope it does for ypou too! also super glad to hear that the battling mechanics hooked you in! theyve improved the gameplay from previous games (esp w/ the inclusion of divine pulse. having that is sooo nice i will say) so im happy it works well for new players!!!

EDIE AND CLAUDE ARE SUCH GOOD CHOICES<3 AND THE BLACK EAGLES TOO<33 dorothea bernie and caspar are such good choices too btw.... glad you weren't annoyed by bernie at first bc my brother really was gkdfnjg CASPAR IS MY BOY.... IF YOU ENJOY THEM NOW YOU'RE TOOOOOTALLY GOING TO ENJOY THEM AS THE GAME PROGRESSES AND AS A EVERYONE GETS MORE DEPRESSED!

its not the same as playingthe route as the house those characters are in, but you'll get to learn more abt them through talking w/ them in th emonastery! i also def recommend like. recruiting the characters you wanna learn more about asap and going throuhg their supports w/ other characters if possible.... i also just HIGHLY recommend recruiting your non black eagles faves. bc uhhh things certainly happen later in the game. but yeah<3 those non eagles chocies are very good.... ingrid is. an interesting case. bc i understand why ppl hate her but i also went throuhg the supports that made ppl hate her and lik e? i understand why she thinks the way she does? and she actually becomes... self aware in her B support w/ him? but still. you;ll understand once you play the blue lions route im sure. but yeah i jus tcant help but have a soft spot for her idk. i just think shes neat and i love projecting onto her for certain things lol.... also lorenz is along the same lines as her in relation to claude and yet hes barely shat on? like HMMM I WONDER WHY :/ ANYWAY. MARIANNE IS SUCH A FAVE AND HILDA IS CERTAINLY FUN. THEIR DUO IS SO INTERESTING AND CUTE TO ME
