Request: “For the tara mckeown one say reader has just joined Washington spirit say she went to high school with tara and they see each other for first time since and they had a crush on each other then ask each other out then kissed at the end of there date”

You walk into the Washington Spirit training facility for the first time and are amazed. You are about to ask the receptionist where to go, when Mark calls you over.

“Welcome to the Washington Spirit Y/N. How are you feeling?”

“I’m excited but nervous. Can’t wait to meet the girls” You say with a smile.

“That will have to wait another day since it is their off day but I will show you around the place so you’re familiar for training tomorrow”

You get shown the medical room (which you take a mental note of for your tests later), lockers, showers, indoor gym and Physio room. Mark takes you outside and you see some outside gym equipment and 2 pitches with an athletic track around it. Mark walks you back to the medical room and you get all the necessary tests done.

After the tests, the nurse takes you to where your team is training and you thank her. You watch some of the girls train for a moment until you feel an arm doing over your shoulder. You look next to you and see Kelley O’Hara grinning at you.

“I’m assuming you’re the newbie. I’m Kelley, nice to meet you”

“Yes I am and I’m Y/N”

Kelley takes you to the girls and introduces you to them all. Your breath heightens when one turns around and you recognise her immediately. Tara McKeown. Your coach tells you to lace up and start training with the girls. Normally after training, you like to stay back and practice your shots. After about an hour, you feel a hand on your shoulder and you turn around to see Tara.

“Hey stranger” You turn around and see the girl you’ve been hopelessly in love with since high school.

“Hey Tar” You two quickly hug and Tara has a tight grip on your waist.

You both stay like this for a few more seconds and pull away just before it becomes awkward.

“Have you had a chance to look around since you moved here?” Tara asks.

“No, I’m still unpacking boxes”

“I know a great Italian place not far from here if you want to grab some lunch? We can go for a walk afterwards and see some of my favourite spots?” Tara rambles and you giggle at her cuteness.

“Is this you asking me on a date T?”

“Well-no, I mean yes, ah on-“ You cut her off and intertwine your hands together.

“I’d love to”

You both quickly have a shower and get changed before heading out to Tara’s car. Tara pulls up to the restaurant and quickly jumps out to run around the car to open your door. You kiss her cheek as a thank you on the way out and Tara’s cheek quickly turns red.

Throughout lunch, you both caught up from not seeing each other for many years as you moved high schools in the middle of junior year. By the time you two finish talking and eating, it’s late afternoon. The waiter comes back with the check and you swiped it quickly before putting your credit card in.

“I should’ve paid, I asked you on the date” Tara pouts as you both get up. The waiter brings back your credit card and you give him a 20 dollar bill as a tip.

“You can pay next time” You say winking at Tara before walking past her.

You both get into her car and you give Tara your address to put into the maps.

“There’s no way” Tara whispers to herself.

“What’s wrong?”

“You live at the same apartment building as me” A wide smile comes on both of your faces.

After a crazy drive filled with car karaoke and shared memories, Tara pulls into the apartment complex. You get Tara and your gym bag out of the back and you both walk to the elevator.

“You know I’m capable of carrying my own bag”

“I know, I just want to” Tara smiles to herself as she presses the floor number.

“What floor are you on?”

“The same”

When the elevator doors open, you walk down the hallway to your apartments. You stop in front of a door and Tara looks at it with wide eyes.

“Looks like I’m your new neighbour” Tara points to the door behind her.

You give Tara her bag but she drops it on the ground and holds your face in her hands.

“Can I kiss you?”

You close the gap and smash your lips onto Tara’s. You pull her closer to you by her waist and her arms wrap around the back of your neck.

“I’m so glad you’re here” Tara whispers on your lips.

“Me too”
