I know Hollywood lives for black trauma in film, but I recently watched Smokin Aces and I CRAVE an Assassin/Mercenary movie with two black leads in a romantic subplot. A couple minutes of screen time and Alicia and Common ate it up!
Look at the vision!
I don’t care what the main plot is about, just give me two fine black co-stars doin damage, handling business and serving chemistry! They can be from opposing sides; they can run into each other chasing the same target; they can team up against the government—I really don’t care, just give me an action-heavy, melanated Assassin Romance flick! Preferably where they both walk away (battered and bruised, obviously) together.
Heck, I even got some casting ideas:
Add onto it, if y’all want.
