Is demon SDJ an au or just a halloween costume? also do you have a headcanon for demon Jack too?

To my knowledge, it could be both. I believe it started when YummyPinkMilk got the idea to draw Jack as an incubus, which inspired Jambeebot/Sauce to draw their own version.

Later on, Sauce made a sprite version for fun with a slightly tweaked design, as we’ve seen on the official Sunny Day Jack twitter. After that, costumes for all the male leads were made.

It’s really cool to see both versions of the design side by side.

Whether or not the sprites are just fun Halloween costumes or something more to them remains to be seen. A lot of people enjoy playing with this design as its own AU though.

Also, as a quick aside, let me remind everyone to please not repost art posted privately on the SnaccPop Studios Patreon. Art that was posted publicly is okay as long as you remember to give Sauce full credit for it like I’m doing here. As for headcanons, well... I do have a few thoughts that I could rattle off. It’ll go under the cut of course since we’re talking about a sex demon AU for an Adults Only game. Talk about spice is pretty inevitable.

Also, there might be some mature themes that go beyond sex. The implications of this sort of supernatural being can get pretty dark if you think about it too hard... which I’m oft to do. How dark? Hopefully no darker than my third headcanon post with the tragedy of [Redacted].

...Which is giving me ideas for this AU. Strap in, folks.

Oh, before I get started, I should tag @channydraws @earthgirlaesthetic & @sai-of-the-7-stars. If you want to be tagged in my next headcanon post, please let me know!

Since these are my own personal headcanons for a demon Jack AU, I’m going to default to using my own personal version of the MC, Alice. However, I will do my best to make mention of when things could apply to the MC in general.

For starters, Jack is an incubus in this headcanon. It’s not because he’s a male sex demon, but because he’s a top. I’ve been inspired by this popular thread that looks at the Latin origins of incubus/succubus and divides them not by gender but by sexual preferences. An incubus is a top, a succubus is a bottom, and a concubus is a verse.

Of course, Jack is flexible enough to take the role of a concubus or a succubus if his sunshine wants, but his preference is overwhelmingly as an incubus.

In this universe, sex demons, shortened to ‘cubi, can shapeshift to some degree, mostly in terms of body type, sex organs, and their more “demonic” features (wings, horns, tail, markings, etc.) This means that they can better appeal to the exact tastes of whatever human they’re catering to, or simply their own. This means that technically they’re genderfluid, but like anyone they have their own gender identity. In Jack’s case, that’s male, and the above appearance is what he is most comfortable in. If he wanted to, however, he could make himself look like the genderswap AU version of himself, Jill.

Despite being known as sex demons, ‘cubi don’t actually come from some infernal underworld... at least not originally. Rather, they’re beings made from magic as the manifestations of desire, specifically to cater to the pleasures of those that summon them. In a way, they’re something of a mixture between tulpas and familiars, bound to a specific person to serve them in exchange for that person’s energy to sustain them.

You know, something kind of similar to Jack’s situation with his sunshine in the main universe.

Now, I’m not saying Jack in SDJ is secretly an incubus or anything like that, even though he practically lives to serve MC and feels more secure in his existence through having sex with them, but... the parallels are kind of pretty apparent.

Naturally, this sort of setup is pretty rife with unfortunate implications if these magical husbando/waifus happen to be thinking and feeling sentient beings rather than glorified magical sex dolls made just for the pleasure of their owner. What sort of awful person would enslave some poor soul to just use them like that?

Oh wait.

Now... while this idea can very easily go into non-consent territory, I don’t want to go there, not even in an AU. This is just the origins of the ‘cubi species that serves as background in this universe. At some point in the past, they broke free of this unfavorable state of servitude. They weren’t meant to be able to reproduce on their own or live unbound to their masters, but the ‘cubi figured out how to do both and became their own race. They’ve been engaging in a both symbiotic and antagonistic relationship with humanity ever since.

Typically ‘cubi are unable to feel love of any sort due to their origins, but like any species that grows and changes over time with each generation, eventually there will be anomalies. Jack is one such anomaly. Unlike the majority of his species, he longs to love and be loved, but for the longest time didn’t realize that’s what he was missing. Much like in the regular universe, his family didn’t love him, but the ‘cubi parents didn’t even pretend they did, as the concept is just dismissed as a “human” trait, and humans are just for “food and fun” to the ‘cubi.

Naturally, Jack had a hard time living with the ‘cubi. Much like the main universe, he was neglected and ignored by those around him as he was growing, and eventually there was a tipping point that made him leave them and never look back again.

Although ‘cubi are most well known for being sex “demons”, they can feed off of any human desire, and it’s strongest when it’s directed at them. Sexual desire is just the most favored way for them to feed, as it’s very potent and pleasurable. This means that a human just looking at them with lustful feelings can offer them some energy even without directly engaging in sex.

The ‘cubi that either don’t want to have sex or are too young for it get their energy from platonic sources of desire or have energy donated to them by other ‘cubi. We respect enthusiastic consent in this house, and only consenting adults should engage in sexual behaviors, even in a fantasy AU.

Of course, once an adult, Jack did engage in sexual behaviors. What he didn’t get from ‘cubi, he thought he could get from humans. The pleasure was great, but he was still wanting more. He wanted to be the desire of many humans, believing that’s what he was missing. This led to a hedonistic lifestyle and a lot of people desiring him, but no matter how much desire he consumed, he was never satisfied.

Naturally, there are people who have a huge issue with sexual promiscuity. There are also people who have a huge problem with non-human races, ranging from distaste to outright hatred. Combine the two with plenty of fear, and you get tragedy.

With Jack seducing so many people and desiring so much attention, it was only a matter of time before the wrong people found out. There are demon hunters in this world, as well as those who believe the ‘cubi are evil. Jack was labeled as a demon seducing innocent people and clouding their minds, tempting them to the path of sin, and other such excuses to hunt him down.

Jack barely survived being killed by the hunters, but was captured instead. In this world, familiars are summoned and can be sealed away if they get unruly. The person who caught him was familiar with the origins of the ‘cubi and how similar they are to familiars, and used that to seal him away into a magical box.

This of course resulted in a Jack-in-the-box.

Yes I am quite proud of that pun, thank you.

As you might have guessed, Jack is in quite an unfortunate position. That collar around his neck isn’t just because it looks kinky. Fortunately, the order that captured him weren’t going to use him for slavery, but the bad news was that he was trapped in a dark place, devoid of all feeling. He was buried like unpleasant secret, locked away and eventually forgotten.

Poor Jack gets to suffer a similar fate as he does in the normal universe.

Fortunately, sunshine will find Jack in this universe as well several years later.

This world is a fantasy setting similar to a lot of JRPGs, with magic creating fantastic technology, but it has a strong medieval feel in ways. There are monarchies and nobility as well as monsters and magical races.

Alice was born into nobility. Although her family is a very loving one, there were duties expected of her due to her bloodline. The life of nobility can be cutthroat, with those aiming to destroy other noble houses for their own political gain, or unite via marriages.

This is especially true if they are engaged to be married to the next crown prince.

Despite it being an arranged marriage, Alice and Ian were close. They grew up together, were friends, and fell in love. It was like a fairytale...

And, like many fairytales, this one involves a curse.

No one knows who cast it, but there were plenty of suspects. It could have been a rival family that wanted their daughter to marry Ian instead. It could have been a curse meant for the crown prince, but due to the royal family’s supposed divine protection, it struck his fiancée in his place. It could even have been just the cruel whim of a wicked witch.

Whatever the case, the results were the same; Alice was one day transformed into a beastly creature.

This resulted in chaos of course, but for the most part, to protect the dignity of Alice, her family, and the royal family, it was kept a secret. Alice was hidden away under the story of being sick while others searched for the culprit and the cure. Crown prince Ian swore he would do whatever it took to cure Alice. He loved her even in her hideous cursed state.

Unfortunately, the more time passed without answers or a solution in sight, unrest set in. The queen especially was repulsed by the idea of her child marrying a hideous monster, no matter how Ian protested. The king was at best indifferent, not dissolving the engagement over the incident, but he refused to allow the marriage to proceed unless Alice was cured.

The secret slowly leaked, as secrets tend to do when money and political intrigue is involved. Pressure was put to annul engagement so that Ian could marry someone else. Noble families sent their attractive and clever members of the same age as him to strengthen bonds with him as it were

At first, Ian resisted all temptations and arguments. He was determined to marry Alice, but as time slipped away and they spent less and less time together, it was hard for his attention not to stray.

Alice had to remain hidden away in her family’s manor. Ian could only rarely visit her, and they mostly kept in communication via magic and letters. It left them both feeling lonely and missing each other.

At first, Alice refused to let Ian see her in her hideous state, but with time he managed to convince her that he still loved her regardless. When she finally allowed him to see what had become of her, he was shocked and horrified, but he managed to reassure her that it didn’t matter. The only one he wanted to marry was her. He loved her.

Alice believed Ian. He was her prince charming who would save her from her curse. He would never forsake her.

I think you can see where this is going.

Much like in the regular universe, time apart, popularity, and temptations of the flesh made Ian stray.

Stricken with guilt, Ian confessed what he did... and Alice couldn’t handle his betrayal.

The engagement was broken. Even if royalty aren’t exactly known for remaining loyal to their spouses, Alice’s family loved her enough to put an end to the engagement for her sake. Ian did everything he could to apologize and make amends, but Alice refused to see him. His constant visits trying to see her, gifts, and messages just made her heartbreak worse.

As word of the engagement being broken spread, there was also a rumor that Alice was going to a distant territory managed by her family to recover from her heartache. This allowed her to not only get some distance from Ian, but to lessen the risk of rumors spreading about her curse.

The place Alice went to live was a distant home surrounded by woods, isolating it from the rest of her world. Being betrayed by the person she loved and trusted the most shook her faith in people, and she insisted on living there alone, save for the occasional delivery of supplies and visitor.

Alice could have simply languished away in that place lamenting her fate, but instead she studied. She had an interest in magic that she had once been passionate about, but had to turn into an idle hobby when she wasn’t busy taking lessons as the future queen and spending time with Ian. Now she no longer had to worry about such distractions.

Perhaps it could help her find a cure for her curse when all other mages and scholars failed...

Time passed as Alice focused on improving her skills with magic and potions. Although Alice didn’t want anyone to see her in this state, she couldn’t help but feel lonely. One day, she was struck with the idea of having a familiar as a companion. Familiars are made from their master’s magic, essentially a piece of the mage given life. It could never betray her.

While engaged to the crown prince, Alice has access to the royal treasury at times. Ian would surprise her with presents that he technically shouldn’t have given away, but he was young, in love, and she was so keen to learn more about magic.

Despite the way things ended, Alice took some of those magical trinkets with her. One of those objects was a box, a medium meant to take some of her essence and create the familiar when the right ritual was performed.

Things go a little bit sideways when the box is already in use sealing away a being that is only similar to a familiar.

Luckily or unluckily, depending on your perspective, Alice just wound up releasing Jack from his box and forming a contract with him, binding them both together.

It was pretty surprising to the both of them, to put it lightly.

When ‘cubi are starved and in a weakened state, their colors are faded, and their eyes and markings won’t glow. Jack looked more like Joseph when Alice let him out, but with her magic feeding him due to their bond, he was his bright and colorful self again soon enough.

A lot of the dynamics between Alice and Jack are similar in this AU to the game universe. Jack can’t do anything Alice doesn’t want, and they can sense each other’s feelings and even thoughts. However, in this universe, Alice is aware of this, since that’s part of having a familiar, which allows her to guard her thoughts from him, if not her emotions.

While the situation is less than ideal for Jack... at the same time he finally feels what he was missing for so long. Alice is warm after he spent so many years sealed away in cold darkness, and he feels things from her that he never did from anyone else.

A pact with a familiar isn’t easily broken. Jack was also afraid that if it was broken, he would just go back into the box. He was still technically bound to it even as he was also bound to Alice. After learning about the hell he suffered when sealed away, she couldn’t bring herself to damn him like that, not when she could feel how terrified and desperate he was to never go back in there.

Jack offered to give Alice anything she wanted. He was ready to seduce her then and there.

Alice barked out a humorless laugh and told Jack that wasn’t a funny joke.

When visitors came over, Alice would wear heavy draping cloaks and veils to hide her body. When alone, she has less, so Jack saw her cursed appearance.

Jack didn’t see an issue with how Alice looked. In fact, her warmth and gentle heart drew him to her. It felt... good, but Alice had already been hurt before.

Instead of accepting sexual favors, Alice tentatively accepted his friendship instead.

So the two of them live together. Jack flirts with Alice, using his typical tactics that worked to draw people in before he got sealed away, being cheeky and seductive... and he finds that she responds when he was sincere instead. They form a genuine friendship and, as they grow closer, Jack eventually realizes that what he’s feeling for Alice, what he’s been missing all of his life, is love.

Eventually the two do fall in love after enough time getting to know and trust each other. Somehow Alice gets her curse cured as well. Maybe fitting with the fairytale theme, it could be cured through the power of true love... expressed through sex, since this is a story about incubi Jack after all.

I guess in this universe you can say Jack is a monster fucker as well as a demon?

Speaking of which, here’s a couple more ‘cubi headcanons that are on the spicier side.

The bond between them leaves a marking in Jack’s colors on Alice’s abdomen. Yes, it’s a “womb tattoo” since having some of Jack’s glowing markings being left behind as a sign of their bond would be fun.

The ‘cubi ability to appeal to their partner’s tastes isn’t just limited to appearance. The flavor of their cum can be altered to suit their tastes in a more literal sense.

Needless to say, Alice does not expect a vanilla cream finish the first time she gives Jack a blowjob.

A ‘cubi has amazing stamina and sometimes will savor their meal. Needless to say, Alice is going to have a hard time keeping up with Jack.

Though with access to magic, Alice has ways of potentially getting in some fun payback.

This is pretty much about all the headcanons I have at this time for this particular AU. I’m still unsure of Shaun and Nick’s roles in the universe, but I do know Barry is a merchant trader that Alice sometimes sells her magic potions to for extra money. Anyway, I hope you enjoy my really huge ramble about demon Jack that turned into an alternate version of Beauty and the Beast!

Divine Warriors and Relics Overhaul.

The last major post I made was about the regions in my MCD rewrite but this time around it's going to be the Divine Warriors because they scratch my brain. Also this post is probably going to be LONG.

The Divine Warriors are characters we have heard before such as Irene, Shad, Esmund, Enki, Menphia, but I added two more as well, that being Drorit and Fionn.

I did rework some of the titles given to the Divine Warriors as I just didn't like them. Shad the Destroyer specifically felt too on the nose.

So, we have

Irene the Matron

Shad the Vandal

Esmund the Guardian

Enki the Astrophile

Menphia the Fury

Drorit the Defiant

Fionn the Traveler

I will explain some of the changes

Shad the Vandal

As I stated earlier, "Destroyer" felt too on the nose. While Vandal isn't a positive trait, it doesn't imply that Shad has always been a bad individual and was just know for delinquent tendencies, a loose screw in the guard. This allows Shad to be seen as more than someone who was always evil, although I would like to keep "Shad the Destroyer" as another title for him after the betrayal and uprising of Shadow Knights.

Esmund the Guardian

I just didn't like "Protector." That's just it. Nothing deeper.

Enki the Astrophile

Enki was known as "the Keeper" which felt too vague to me. In my version, Enki was an archivist so he was keeper of archives, keeper of knowledge. Although that doesn't explain the "Astrophile" part since that means lover of stars. I can't explain it any further than Enki has a relationship with nature thus the stars and the stars have always been symbols of knowledge in my mind. So that's what I'm doing here.

And then explaining the two NEW characters, Drorit and Fionn.

Drorit the Defiant

Her title is self-explanatory along with Fionn's. Drorit tends to create riots for a cause and doesn't follow the rules, she hates having to follow strict order and wants people to have the ability to have freedom in their choices instead of walking on a tight rope.

Fionn the Traveler

Self-explanatory BUT Fionn is a traveler by sea and is a water spirit. At first, he's a scammy merchant who tries to trick the Divine Warriors into a pitiful deal and only ended up joining for selfish reasons but ends up becoming very valuable to the group, actually being the most well-versed in magick.

Now let's talk about the changes to the Divine Warriors themself.

Irene

Irene in the rewrite is a Swan Maiden. If you don't know what swan maidens are, they are shapeshifting women who can transform from a swan to a woman but they tend to still have their feathers in their human form. They're usually married off to higher up power, like kings, and have their feathers plucked so they cannot fly away.

The cause for the up rising / the final straw was Irene herself being taken away and forced to have her feathers plucked so she could be married off to the King of Ru'aun. She soon runs away with two guards of the king and begins to study magick with the rest of her group. Along the way, she makes allies and builds of bonds with others.

Once the King is overthrown, Irene declares that no one person should rule an entire region, and then settles down as lord and founder of Scaleswind, where the rest of the group followed her. At this point, she had perfected her magick of light and healing. Healing was a lost magick even then, but with a witch's help, she was able to bring that art back to life. Since she is a swan maiden, a sign of purity and hope, it was easier for her to learn.

When one of the guards was overcome with darkness, that left the Divine Warriors as the only ones who could take him down as there was no need to bring innocent parties into this. Before the final battle, Irene asked one of the group to put a magick seal onto gems where, if they were to die, their magick would automatically go to that gem. Each member wrote an encryption onto the gem and went into battle by Irene's command, who held back as a final answer to the problem.

As she felt her friends die, Irene felt herself begin to fade. She didn't head to the battle ground for months as she became a recluse and her villagers and knights began to worry. And one day, there was a big, flaming light that walked down the road, and Irene the Matron was gone.

Phoenix Drop was named after this event as many people believe the light was a Phoenix signifying the end of an era.

Esmund and Shad

Esmund and Shad are put together here as they were both Royal Guards of the King of Ru'uan, Kieran. Esmund was the head guard of the kingdom, while Shad was still but a trainee despite being there for so long due to his rebellious actions. He tended to disobey the king for fun rather than to make a statement, which made Esmund very annoyed with him. The two bumped heads a lot.

When Irene was transferred to the kingdom as Kieran's fiancé, the two were assigned to guard her. They obeyed this command, Esmund because he would always obey the king and Shad because he just wanted to see who on Earth (Known as Terra because MCD is special) would marry him. When they saw a swan maiden without her feathers, both were horrified.

Even though both had sworn their loyalty to the king, more or less, they both realized how cruel this was and how they couldn't let an unwilling party be stripped of anymore rights. They hatched a plan and later escaped to meet with the archivist of Yggdrasil. They continued to run, going to Tu'La, Ivorian, Umbre'en, Aerania, and Rigguard. All places being of worth as Umbre'en and Rigguard were Shad and Esmund's home regions, respectively, which they had seen how Ru'aun's monarchy was slowly taking over the other regions and the protests surrounding this. This sped up the process over overthrowing the king.

Esmund became head guard of Scaleswind, but Shad became Irene's right hand man. They had also become skilled in their magick sets which complimented the other; ice and protection (shielding) and shadow and imprisonment.

Both loved Irene and they both knew she could only love one of them or even neither of them. Esmund felt peace with that, while Shad felt a pain in his chest whenever he thought about the possibility.

Although Irene showed feelings towards Shad, he became more and more bottled up with disgust and despair towards those around him, feeling as though he is still looked down upon as some sort of rebel because of his previous actions and not with all of the good he has done. The darkness in his magick was dangerous to learn, as dangerous as Irene's light magick, and it began to physically and mentally consume him as he lost more control of his thoughts and anger. Esmund, Irene and the others desperately tried to get Shad out of this state, but it failed.

Shad later escaped to the Nether/Underworld (It's Both) trying to attempt to build a kingdom of his own, which previously was just a place of darkness. Esmund felt defeated, and made sure to inscribe his relic to go to someone who was loyal and protected, and did not strive for power.

Esmund was the last person to fall to Shad, he was hoping and praying that maybe if he still stood up and fought, Shad would eventually be reminded of their training days, but that never happened. Shad lost his heart.

Irene had put a seal on Shad's relic, after she defeated his, at least, physical form which put the magic in his relic. The seal being it can only go to someone who had a kind, intelligent soul.

Enki and Zoey

Enki and Zoey are siblings in my rewrite. Zoey was roughly around 10 when Irene was around even in MCD and I thought it would be nice for her to be related to one of them somehow. Enki is a well known archivist in Yggdrasil, near the kingdom in Ru'aun as they get most of their resources from there. Actually, Enki is THE royal archivist, holding all files and letters the king has received and sent, along with anyone else in connection with him. He was a trusted figure. His magick was not seen as a threat during this time as he was more so of a support type rather than an offensive type.

Enki kept a book of myths and read them to Zoey every night as well.

When Esmund, Shad and Irene came to him, asking for help about getting away from the king, relaying all of this information, he was hesitant. But since Esmund was head guard and Irene was the queen-to-be, he felt obligated to show them the files they wanted to see. After a lot of convincing, Enki eventually joins them, not before giving Zoey the book of myths.

After the kingdom fell, he joined Irene and the others in Scaleswind as the archivist there, still visiting Zoey every so often. Similarly to everyone else, Enki had mastered his magick of plants and stars (the stars part is with support -- typically asking for support spells from the galaxy. Isn't as OP as it sounds, it's like Wendy's support magick from Fairy Tail where they either feel lighter or move faster.)

When Shad strayed from the path and the relics were made, Enki went to a remote island (later where the Enki Warrior Tribe is located) and left all of his archives there, out of the weather and where they would be safe, and handed his relic over to Zoey. The encryption was simple, only one of his relatives of the next generation can inherent his power. Enki did not have any kids as much as he hoped he would.

Despite knowing that they would statistically fail against Shad, Enki still went all in when fighting, hoping he wasn't wrong even in the slightest.

Menphia and Drorit

Menphia and Drorit have a lot of overlap between their goals and morals and were also married! Canonical wives in my rewrite.

Menphia comes from Tu'La, a very chaotic region where magick beings and demons roam freely, Menphia being a cat yokai (like KC/Nana). Due her upbringing, she's hotheaded and quick to join fights, she bites. But she is a very supportive person, puts her entire being into everything she does, and loves hard. Most of the chaos as caused by the king as he actually turned Tu'La into just an extension of Ru'aun, so of course she would jump at the chance to overthrow him.

Drorit is from Ivorian and is a big protestor. Ivorian is known for it's precious gems and materials, and her being a person of the public, was scared what might happen if the king of Ru'aun, a tyrant, were to get their hands on these gems. Drorit is a ride or die sort of person, she is willing to do anything for anyone for the cause she believes in. Every action she did was not void of purpose, so she easily joined the Divine Warriors.

We know the drill, kingdom fell, Scaleswind was made, they joined, and they mastered their magick. Menphia's being fire (including explosions and lava) and ground, and Drorit's being wind and flight.

When Shad betrayed then and attempted to make a kingdom, Menphia felt betrayed and Drorit was sickened. Menphia viewed Shad as a brother figure and the two were very close, seeing her... Brother, basically, being taken over by the magick he chose to learn hurt her. Drorit wasn't all that close with Shad but knew him as a honest and passionate man, which is why she was sickened to see the outcome. Drorit did the most damage out of them all during the battle while Menphia was one of the last people standing with Esmund.

Drorit's relic was meant to go to someone who stuck to their beliefs, much like Drorit. Menphia's relic is to go to someone who knows the ins and outs of every battle.

Fionn

Finally, Fionn.

A traveling merchant from Aerania, a region KNOWN for trade, and him being a water spirit. Water spirits can be a little devious and Fionn was just that, always being able to swindle people into giving him ever so slightly more money than intended. That's also what he wanted to do with the Divine Warriors as they caught him on one of their off days, until he say the gems they had in their possession with Drorit had taken from home. He soon warmed up to them, agreeing with them, and faking the passion. Like Flynn Rider/Eugene from Rapunzel.

Along the way, he realized how interesting they all were and how adventure was truly something he liked more than selling stuff for outrageous prices. He enjoyed being with them and learning about their lives.

Once the king was overthrown and Scaleswind was made, he.... Get this... Mastered his magick, being water and storms.

Fionn was the one who created the relics, he was the one who enchanted them and inscribed them with the seal. He had an old book he bought off another merchant that had the ability to take away magick and let it back out depending on how you write it out. He was the only Divine Warrior not to die in that battle as he was the one to hide the relics. Fionn's relic is meant to go to someone who understands the meaning of trust.

After Irene's disappearance, Fionn died from heartbreak.

This was just one big word dump and I am very sorry, but just a little more of you're time and I will talk about

The Relics.

Irene's Relic

Similar to the one that is in the original MCD, where it looks like a bunch of flames but instead it had light purple on the outside but a deep violet as the center. The relic is still in Irene's Dimension in the rewrite.

Shad's Relic

Somewhat the same as Irene's relic with the looks of flames, although they are more scattered and wide. It's also a light pink relic with a red diamond in the center. This relic is also in Irene's Dimension, so she can forever protect it.

Esmund's Relic

A square relic with rounded edges and carved like a diamond, it has varying hues of blue. The relic was in the possession of O'Khasis until Garroth faked his death in help with his mother, who handed him the relic to both protect him and the relic itself.

Enki's Relic

The relic resembles a bug with a pale green center and a dark forest green on the outside, some of it stemming off to look like "legs." The relic is in Zoey's possession BUT the Enki Warrior Tribe says that they have it to bring comfort to everyone else.

Menphia's Relic

A cross shaped relic with a vibrant orange hue that leads to a borderline red. The relic was found in the Nether when Aphmau was saving the werewolf pup from there. Shad had stolen Menphia's relic which caused the Nether to turn into a firey pit of hell.

Drorit's Relic

Two sharp, skinny diamond shaped relics with a piercing teal color. The relics were previously in the palace in Ivorian before the kingdom fell and was reborn with a tyrant, it is now in a treasure hunting guild known for criminal activities.

Fionn's Relic

A water droplet shape relic with a deep, blood red color. The relic was placed in a underwater temple, which Fionn had flooded.

Name: Sakuranbo the Kitsune... but you can call them Ran! (Or even Ranran if you like!)

Species: Kitsune; they consider themselves distinct from other Mobian foxes (and they have differentiating traits such as narrower/closer set ears and 1000+ year lifespans), but if I were to choose a real-life species it'd be the Ezo red fox (Vulpes vulpes schrencki)

✨ - How did you come up with the OC’s name?

Ran originated as an adoptable I bought, and it's one of those circumstances where I knew their name and personality as soon as I saw them! Ran (rhymes with 'Tron' more or less, not 'man') was the original name, something cute and quick that seemed to suit them. From there I decided that 'Sakuranbo', 'cherry', was the full name!

The name of their Chao, Berii, is just a follow-up on the fruit/berry theme. And the name of their home village is derived from kitakitsune, another name for the Ezo red fox!

🌼 - How old are they? (Or approximate age range)

Ran's ten!

🌺 - Do they have any love interest(s)?

Nope - none so far!

🍕 - What is their favorite food?

Inari age! In sushi, topping udon, or just by itself.

However, their desire to be like Knuckles makes them claim grapes are their favorite.

💼 - What do they do for a living?

Ran doesn't really have a job, and tends to survive by foraging if there's no one offering food. They originally left their village as part of a survival trial, so they're pretty well-versed!

🎹 - Do they have any hobbies?

Training, exploring the island, and storytelling! Ran loves to hear and tell stories, and will talk all day given the slightest nudge!

🎯 - What do they do best?

Storytelling! They're very good at either adapting old stories or telling new ones. (You'd thing this would help with their illusion/trickster skills, but in those cases they sometimes embellish a little too much or simply upset themselves if the ruse seems to be turning hurtful.)

🥊 - What do they love to do? What do they hate to do?

Ran loves exploring, telling stories, and practicing their combat skills (based around fast decisive strikes, using their opponent's momentum and weight as leverage against them, and kunai throwing or close combat) and kitsune magic (shapeshifting, illusions, and foxfire).

Ran hates cooking (they're simply not good at it) and building (they'd rather find somewhere to shelter naturally)

❤️ - What is one of your OC’s best memories?

Meeting Knuckles and seeing Angel Island for the first time! They ended up there by accident (exploring an Egg Carrier out of curiosity and still being on board when it took off), but their immediate fascination with the island and its mysteries, and how star-struck they were with Knuckles' strong sense of loyalty and duty as well as his survival skills, convinced them that this... was DESTINY.

✂️ - What is one of your OC’s worst memories?

Realizing that their parents, while they certainly loved Ran, thought they were a letdown... especially in comparison to their younger brother. Ran doesn't resent Zakuro... but the realization of being the 'lesser' child, and the fact that it wasn't exactly a secret, still plagues them to a degree.

🧊 - Is their current design the first one?

Sort of - Ran was originally an adopt, and I've been tweaking the original look here and there (both just translating to my style, and things like changing the original bodysuit under the kimono to shortsleeved and adding black eartips. The basic look remains the same though!

🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?

Aside from the 'this is their personality' realized when I saw the adoptable design, I had the idea of someone who was really enthusiastic about something a lot of people might see as a burden... and I sort of wanted to connect an OC to Knuckles, who is my favorite of the main characters. The idea of a really enthusiastic wannabe-apprentice just snowballed from there (and also allows some thinking into Knuckles and how he'd react to this once the general bafflement wears off... namely, does he WANT to burden someone else with this destiny? Who WILL take over when he's gone? Does someone HAVE to? ...can he really just build his own hand-picked clan?)

🌂 - What genre do they belong in?

Action Comedy!

💚 - What is your OC’s gender identity and sexuality?

Ran is nonbinary (they/them)! Sexuality is currently Unknown, though I'm leaning aroace. (That's definitely something that someone would have to explain to them, though....)

🙌 - How many siblings does your OC have?

One younger brother, Zakuro! Zaku is seven years old. They also have a younger sister, Suika, that they've never met as Suika was born after they left the village.

🍎 - What is the OC’s relationship w/their parents like?

A little strained. Ran's parents do love them, but they've never exactly hidden the fact that they consider Ran a bit of a disappointment and Zaku the superior child. This is at least partly linked to Ran's personal magic: while all kitsune possess the ability to shapeshift, cast illusions, and create illuminating but non-burning foxfire, each one also has a signature spell - and Ran's is merely creating a heat-producing/burning version of foxfire, while Zaku's is the more obviously unique ability to control plants. This ultimately led to them dismissing all of Ran's abilities, efforts, and even personality as 'not as good as your brother' and is one of the reasons they wandered so far in what was supposed to be a week-long trial in the first place... and one of the reasons they're so desperate for Knuckles' acknowledgment and approval. Ran doesn't mind their ability being what it is... after all, they had a famous ancestor, Momo, whose signature ability was 'just' shapeshifting and illusion to a perfection no other kitsune could attain! They just wish their parents saw it - and them - as valuable.

✏️ - How often do you draw/write about the OC?

Less than I should! I haven't found a good place to insert them in RP and I haven't written Sonic fic in a long time... but the Showdown has me doing more with them!

💎 - Do you ever see yourself killing off the OC?

Nope!

💀 - Does your OC have any phobias?

Ran is afraid of the dark - so it's a good thing they can generate both burning and non-burning flame at well. They're also afraid of being alone in the world, with no one who'd care if they were gone.

🍩 - Who is your OC’s arch-nemesis or rival?

By Ran's logic, if Sonic is Knuckles' rival then Tails must be theirs! However, given their ages and temperaments the Ran/Tails Rivalry mainly involves things like 'who will win first place in Tomatopotamus Team Kart' (usually Tails) or 'who can fit the most mint candies in their mouth' (Ran, but Tails vows to take the crown once he's had time to catch up growth-wise).

There's also Matilda the Ant (@frostios/@halcyon-pandion) based on a comment from one of her creators. Knuckles Hater VS Knuckles Biggest Fan.

🎓 - How long have you had the OC?

Since November 2022!

💥 - What are your OC’s powers, if they have any?

Ran can shapeshift into another person or simply another species, though at their current age they are limited to ten minutes for imitating another person or one hour for another species - and in the latter they cannot yet alter their size or color/markings. They can create illusions based on how long they can concentrate on holding them, again limited by their current age and power - their illusions lack sound and scent and cannot be touched. They can cast regular non-burning foxfire, as well as burning 'regular' (blue) fire.

Additional fun facts!

Their siblings' names in English are Pomegranate and Watermelon.

Their ancestor Momo (Peach) is a reference to Tamamo no Mae, though Momo wasn't evil... probably.

When Ran first met Tails, the two tails made them think he was an adult kitsune masquerading as a red fox kit. Ran was bold enough to ask outright why he'd do that, though, so the misunderstanding was cleared up very quickly!

Here is my version of Onoskelis!

Oynuskalepi is a humorous hybrid between a sower of discord - fraudster demon - and a concubus that possesses a great appetite for mischief. They relish being in a position of power over those that are viewed as unworthy and pathetic. They have a habit of perverting individuals from their true nature and treating their so-called followers with sadistic malevolence. They have a unique balance between confidence and humility, and are extremely loyal and obedient towards those of higher status or greater significance. They possess a great sense of duty, discipline, and responsibility, and are concerned with long-term planning. They have a physical and emotional endurance that’s put into good use during times of hardships. Their methodical nature allows them to keep their ambitions in check, but they’re quite relentless and persistent about achieving their deepest desires. Their blunt honesty can come off as crude and offensive, and they have a strange obsession with eroticism and strange philosophical concepts (e.g. trivialism). They’re well-versed in forbidden knowledge, agricultural and housekeeping methods, forms of entertainment, and the history of magic. Oynuskalepi shows no fear in dangerous or risky situations, which allows their cunningness to flourish.

They’re a 4’ 8” (142.24 cm) malnourished ectomorph with a rectangular figure, sloping shoulders, sagging breasts, and a partially swollen belly. Their dry, scaly complexion is a mummy brown with myrrh-coloured warts scattered throughout the back and torso. Their long, flowing-upwards hair is a cold fire of blue, purple, and pink. They have bronze cloven hoofs, the ears of a black cat, the legs of a chestnut mule, and the tail of a deathstalker. They have eight mummified arms and three sweet pink eyes with spiralling medium red-violet pupils that have an ocean green dot in the middle of each one. They wear a flowing luxor gold shroud, a greyish-lavender litham, a satin citrine white boubou, and a cloak made from the skin of a coyote.

Oynuskalepi can create ropes from daylight and stars in the night sky, and generate a fortune of gold to those who seriously and secretly worship them. Through the echoes of their voice, they can create sea-goats and turn mules into beautiful men and women. They can shapeshift into any gorgeous feminine, masculine, androgynous, and sexless being, and change the shape of their genitalia. Besides the consumption of souls, they can absorb the emotions, vital fluids, and pleasant memories of other people. They’re a master of seduction, agriculture, housekeeping, entertainment, and the magical arts, and can teleport throughout the multiverse by using fire. They have enhanced speed, agility, dexterity, reflexes, vision, hearing, touch, durability, stamina, intellect, brain capacity, and balance. They can manipulate the earth, morphogenetic fields, and sleep, and perceive all possible futures one at a time. When using Saturn’s power, Oynuskalepi has control over ambitions, boundaries, justice, authority, conformity, social structures, limitations, practicality, and reality.

Back to the Redux Iterum Starkit’s prophecy reimagining. This time with our villains Hollyleaf and Tigerstar.

Which I’ll go over both them under the readmore

Here’s the thing… the fic never states the motive of these two at all. We don’t know why they’re aligned (as darkrose wasn’t a supporter of Ashfur in the slightest either this isn’t a pro-Ashfur thing), when this happened or even what they’re doing this for.

All we know is all the other Clans are allegedly aligned with them, they control the Dark Forest, and any cat that is kicked out of ThunderClan is immediately welcomed in. Also they’re mates.

But along with this… they’re still somewhat welcomed into ThunderClan in some cases. As they have Starkit II in the ThunderClan nursery and seem to just chill there until some other cats show up. And numerous cats apparently saw them there (Redfur and Lakepool, Stormfur and Brook since they’re also in the nursery).

Along with that a fear is that if they do a battle too late they’ll have to spend the night with ThunderClan (???). It’s another befuddlement in the fic.

So in the hypothetical Starkit’s Redux Iterum verse- they’re very much ThunderClan cats for a long while. I’d say what makes them moreso enemies is that they’re opposing Nightclaw/star in her power grabbing. With “Tigerstar” presumably being seen as a candidate to take the position of Leader and that being seen as a threat.

Maybe even “Hollyleaf” is someone of a high position and also considered a threat. After all a culthead would presumably want any high position individual to be a part of the fold instead of an outsider. But I digress onto the names.

Hollyleaf -> Ivythroat

Suffix is rather easy, just switch that plant suffix to another.

This one was a hard one but one I eventually settled on. Hollyleaf in the fic is mostly identified from her being a shapeshifter. While she does fight and run away frequently as well, the thing that will always come to mind is her shape shifting first.

Now iterum doesn’t function on extreme magic like that however. But I wanted to keep something similar to it. And the one thing I can think of is language.

Language does play a role within Iterum, especially with WindClan who speak with other animals. So we can maybe extend this to Ivythroat in which she can communicate rather fluently compared to other ThunderClan cats with animals.

She earns the -throat suffix just barely. And thus she is Ivythroat.

Also her eyes are changed to an amberish color cause I don’t want her to stand out a bit more from Hollyleaf.

Tigerstar -> Adderfoot

Now he gets changed due to keeping the names different from canon characters. I can’t do Dusk- since I already handed that off, so I decided to go with Adder. Any dark brown prefix could work tbh but I wanted Adder.

Now Tigerstar is the leader of the Dark Forest in this book. He spends most of his time either running away or dying.

Turns out by the end the prophecy wasn’t about him either, and he is killed by his mate.

Now I guess he’s an ok fighter? He does kill someone every now and then. But I mostly remember him from either running away from a fight rather easily or dying rather easily. And his kill-being killed ratio is 2-6 so I can’t give him -claw.

But his running away is what eventually gave him the -foot suffix. He’s able to escape from what should be difficult situations quite easily, and even escapes death countless times.

And while Adderfoot isn’t the most threatening name ever I feel like it suits him.

Just like the actual fic they’re the parents to Wrenshade (Rainstar) and Dovestorm (Starkit II). Little would they know that the younger daughter will eventually put a stop to them. Unfortunate for the rest of the Clans as well.

HELLHOUND PHYSIOLOGY

hellhounds are connected to the underworld and are considered omens of death. as so, many of their attributes signal the end for others. starring into a hellhound's yellow eyes can immediately cursed that person to die. alternatively, hearing the howl of a hellhound can signal death approaching, or even cause death. malito's status as a were-hellhound simply combines some elements of a werewolf, hellhound and some vampiric attributes as well. he loses some of his abilities on the new moon, requiring him to slumber. alternatively, he transforms into his true form on the full moon. he survives mostly off of blood and flesh via biting, breaking the skin and consuming or by cutting and bloodletting.

his religion's concept of the underworld is rooted in fire, thus he possesses flame and dark flame abilities, the latter having non of the weaknesses of earthbound or manmade flames. his true form is one of three heads, many eyes and many teeth, being that his mother is the cerberus of legend. in this form, his body is made of soot and flame and will ignite anything it touches if he wills it so. in terms of urban legends, he is closer to fenrir, the wolf large in stature and capable of killing the god, odin. unlike his mother, whose goal was always to protect the gate of the underworld first and hunt souls second, malito in true form is a hunter first, trailing after powerful deities with the goal of setting the world ablaze.

in his fable verse, he is meant to take over as the big bad wolf in place of his mother, malo, known as ' the omen ' , so that she can return to the underworld. from her, he has inherited the following abilities:

absolute disaster manipulation — the ability to manipulate the limitless and ultimate disasters. just like real death, tragedy will strike in the bitter end. inevitable death.

underworld path / hell gate — the ability to create pathways to hell. the ability to also navigate the underworld.

pyrokinesis / fire manipulation / flame body / flame embodiment

supernatural conditioning / durability / immortality

supernatural strength

curse inducement

death inducement

fear inducement

immunity to madness / chaos magic / mind control

enhanced senses / darkvision

as well as some abilities of his own as fenrir:

absolute condition — stacks with his enhanced conditioning. he's incredibly strong in a way that rivals gods, is hard to knock down, extremely athletic and with a bite so strong that it can break bones and pierce through anything, including rip holes through reality itself. he is skilled in many forms of unarmed combat and defense including a proficiency with bladed weapons. increased agility and dexterity as well as endurance, stamina and leap. he is skilled in reflexes and precision, as well as speed.

cosmic hunger — not only having hunger on a cosmic scale, but the ability to consume cosmic beings.

digestive shapeshifting — the ability to transform into or gain the attributes of someone after consuming a part of them.

infinite consumption — if left unchecked, he will continue to devour with a spirit of gluttony until all of eternity is consumed.

dimensional travel — once marked as prey for him, he will hunt throughout different dimensions, timelines and realities to search for you.

a part of taking over for his mother is now being involved in the agreement that she has with the tricksters that make deals at the crossroads. a deal at the crossroads will cost a person their soul. when it is time to collect on those deals, the hellhounds come to take your soul. namely, him. he transforms and gives chase until he returns with that soul gripped between his teeth. this ability, known as soul hunting, allows him to see and track humans and spirits with his senses. in his true form, he is also invisible to the human eye.
