You know If we ever got to see oswald in the house of mouse i would really like to see him try to explain to ppl that he's mickeys Brother and he's there to talk with him specificly and he's not intrested in any club activities or getting things or stuff like that

ALSO, FUNNY STORY. I was explaining the Oz and Ed plot line to my roommate the other day, and I reached “so Oz jumps in front of a grenade for Ed” and they go “oh, like that song” and pull up Grenade by Bruno Mars. Anyways, I am going through the lyrics yesterday and THEY WORK SO WELL??? The line about pulling brakes from a car?? Hello?? Basically what I’m saying is that I need to make another animatic (add it to my list of other songs from this playlist that I want to make into animatics)

(The list keeps changing because sometimes I get sick of songs from listening to much. Line Without a Hook was high on the list for a while, but I’ve over done it a bit. So it’s been pushed farther down)

Disney Brothers Studio AU I made like 6 months ago and forgot to post 💪💪💪

Oswald and Mickey are the co-directors of all toon media, shorts, shows, comics, movies, all that jazz. Even ones that aren’t real so there’s like endless possibilities here!! They could totally direct a show about like, Fethry and Gladstone. The two of them reign in all the chaos of all the crazy toons they have to work with everyday, while still occasionally butting heads and dealing with their own traits.

But DO NOT BE FOOLED, just because it’s called the Disney Bros doesn’t mean the other siblings aren’t involved, they just aren’t directors!

Felicity is the head writer, she write all their scripts. She tries not to be that much of a problem for Oswald and Mickey, but it is still her duty as their sister to play pranks on set and tease her siblings. Out of everyone, she’s the one that helps others get out of being so absorbed in their work. Also she has no babysitter for the kids so they come to the set with her everyday and may or may not have destroyed a few shorts

Julius is the camera operator and storyboard artist but Julius has TOO much creator vision ans tries to subtly take over projects without Oswald and Mickey realizing, he butts heads with them and has big dreams of making his own Artistic Movie.

Flip used to work at the studio, but every job they gave him, he would just slack off and try to get others to do the same so they let him go 💀💀💀 Now he just sneaks onto their sets to steal their food and flirt with their actors (FLIRTING IS NOT PICTURED HERE I REALIZE IT CAN LOOK LIKE THAT BUT HE IS NOT FLIRTING WITH JULIUS THATS HIS BROTHER 🙏)

I'm bored and sleep deprived again so I got some headcanons about the silly cartoon cat that is Ortensia and her relationship with her father and Ozzie I wanna share. First off her father's and likewise her full name is canonized in the modern age with their appearance in a comic where her father is named "J.P. Whiskers" as seen on the mailbox.

This would make Ortensia's name obviously Ortensia Whiskers, however because I find it funny I'd like to imagine she also has her father's middle name as her middle name. Now with J.P.s middle initial being P his middle name could be anything, yet considering they're cats I just headcanon the P standing for "puss" as that's a term used affectionately for cats. This would make J.P.'s name J. Puss Whiskers and likewise Ortensia's name Ortensia Puss Whiskers which I feel like is a name stupid enough to be believable for a cartoon character.

Next up because of the comic and the original cartoon we also know that J.P. does NOT approve of Ortensia and Oswald's relationship and actively hates him. We can see this in Ortensia's first ever appearance in "The Banker's Daughter" where he is said banker and Ortensia being the said daughter. This cartoon is sadly lost to time but Some storyboards exist with this being the big one:

The plot is also listed on the Disney Wikipedia so we thankfully know what the cartoon would entail.

From this we learn about Ortensia's (who was at the time named Sadie) father is rich and owns a bank where his wealth presumably comes from. Ortensia coming from wealth is also cemented in the aforementioned comic where the entire plot is J.P. Whiskers having a Christmas dinner for the wealthy and he wants to keep the poor (aka Oswald and his best friend) out. Now Ortensia coming from wealth is interesting as I remember watching the Disney Fandaze parade thing and in Ortensia's song there's this line demonstrating her and Oswald's lack of funds.

With this lyric I personally head canon J.P. cutting Ortensia off and not supporting her financially after marrying Oswald. He shows a clear distaste for Ozzie and I feel like he only lets Ortensia see him in the first place is because of the little rabbit's heroism although still ultimately hates him. This makes Oswald's and Ortensia's relationship even sweeter with the idea that Ortensia knowingly decided she didn't need money to be happy, all she needed was Ozzie and she's content with that. It also makes Oswald even sweeter as I imagine him doing his best in order to impress the in-laws because he wants to prove he can be a great husband to Ortensia.

Overall I think it's really sweet the bond these two have and despite everything they only need each other to be happy. Also I don't think Ortensia and her dad have a bad relationship either. I feel like J.P.'s dislike for Oswald comes from over protectiveness and he thinks Oswald is just trying to marry into the family for the money. I feel like his feelings would shift over time and after the two give him grandchildren he'd realize the love Oswald has isn't shallow. I don't think J.P. would ever like Ozzie yet after seeing Oswald willingly be a dad to 420 kids he'd see the obvious and know Oswald has no ulterior motive other than wanting to be a great husband and dad.

Agreed about the whole Once Upon a Studio is a much better way of celebrating 100 years of Disney than Wish (even though I haven’t seen it yet). Would have honestly like an attempt at making that short longer or if they could pull it off… make a whole movie off of it. I personally would have gone for an Epic Mickey movie to give Mickey a new movie after all these years, bring Oswald to the forefront, and explore forgotten Disney history. Either option could be fine in my opinion.

Yeah, we're not on the same page, here. It didn't need to be a whole movie. It didn't need a plot. It was exactly what it needed to be: the animated canon characters (plus a few that have animated characters in live action movies) actually interacting each with each other in order to perform a sweet, sentimental moment to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the studio with an extremely heartfelt moment of Mickey talking to Walt's portrait.

It did highlight (or at least show) lesser-remembered animated movies. It super didn't need to be epic or major or bring Oswald to the forefront. The fact that Mickey gestures to him and says, "After you," as both a moment of politeness and acknowledgement that Oswald was first was all I needed out of that.

I felt more with that eight minutes and forty-fives seconds than I have for most of Disney's recent animated movies' entire durations. My only wish was that it hadn't had to have cuts. I've reblogged storyboards of scenes that were edited out, and I'd love to see it all thrown back together, even if it doubled the length. But it absolutely did not need to bee a full-length feature animation.

Between the Oswald series storyboards reveal and Lunar New Years, I decided to combine both of them to kill two birds with one stone!

Also, in one of my classes the other day, we had a Lunar New Years party and we were told to find our signs and then the year we were born. After I did mine, out of curiosity, I looked over the others, including Rabbit and-

This is so Oswald energy! I ran to my bestie and started pointing it out and then, they looked at the one they were holding and started laughing hysterically, whispering "It's Mickey!"

I started wheezy laughing on the floor and from that, I had a drawing idea!

Oswald would be laughing maniacally as Mickey would be upset like "I mean- part of it is true but not the money part! That's the company not me!"

I just had this thought of a possibility why the Oswald show got scrapped. After watching the storyboard animatic for one of the episodes, it reminded me of The Cuphead Show with similar character dynamics. A show that takes place in the 1920s/1930s that stars Character A, the main character, who causes problems or gets into hijinks. Character B, the straight man, goes along with or gets into trouble with Character A. Then there's whoever Character C gets to be, mostly a villain-like character, who crosses paths with and is driven insane by Character A. To throw this in here, if Ortensia were to play a role in the show, just like Chalice, Ortensia could have been Character D, the girl character A and B befriends (in Oswald's case, his love interest). This could be a coincidence, or some people involved with the project went to work for The Cuphead Show instead. I guess the reason why I'm typing this is to get everyone's thoughts on what possibly happened behind the scenes and get my thoughts out of my system without causing any drama. Please don't attack any of the creators because this was just a thought I had that it could be a coincidence.

What do you guys think?

Hello I love your style, very cartoons

I've been wanting to develop my own but I'm a bit lost on how to, do you have any tips?

Also love your coloring and shading and the color stuff every thing with color I love it

Sorry for taking several months to answer this! In terms of developing your ability to draw cartoon characters specifically, I've personally studied a lot of rubberhose animation and production drawings. When you watch enough Mickey Mouse and slow down the frames one too many times, you start to notice things about his movements and design that make him so fluid and appealing. Cartoons in motion allow you to note character details as well, which can help you determine what actions a character will do, what clothes they'll wear, or what facial expressions they'll make. Concept art is really, really helpful if you want to wrap your head around how characters are drawn because it can give you a firm sense of the essential qualities of a character (I've been staring at Ub Iwerks' concepts and storyboards for the early Oswald shorts for hours to learn how Oswald moves, for example). Really stripped-down sketches go a long way to help me, personally. If you want to know how to develop a broader art style, I'm not sure I can provide the most sound advice. My style has coalesced from all the fan art, studies, and original characters I draw. Just note what makes you happy and what visual and storytelling goals you'd like to achieve. And I'm glad you like my colors :D !!!
