I'm pretty sure Artie, Leech and Taki all used to be the same age.
Artie and Leech both look twelve and Taki is, like, sixteen.

365 Marvel Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…
Supporting Character Supplemental - Whiz Kid
Takeshi ‘Taki’ Matsuya was a preadolescent when he and his parents were involved in a terrible car accident that killed Taki's parents and left him paralyzed from the waste down.  Young Taki was placed at Saint Simon's Academy, a private school for children with special needs and abilities.  Whist there, Taki excelled at the fields of computers and engineering.
A Mutant possessing the X-Gene, Taki’s special powers first manifested when he was working on a project and discovered that he was able to manipulate the form and functionality of pieces of machinery.  He came to realize he possessed a rare form of telekinesis called ‘technoformy.’ This allows him to alter materials to function in accordance to his specifications, even to the point of being contrary to the laws of nature and science.  The ability enabled him to build all manner of incredible devices, including an anti-gravity seat to replace his old wheelchair.
During his time at Saint Simon’s, Taki befriended the fellow Mutants, Artie and Leach and the three of them joined the X-Terminators so to assist The X-Men during the Inferno event.  Given the codename of ‘Whiz Kid,’ Taki was later recruited into Avengers Academy.
More recently, Whiz Kid has relocated to the Mutant nation of Krakoa where he has acted as a member of the SWORD support team known as The Six.
Whiz Kid first appeared in X-Terminators #1 (1988).

“What, it’s not cool enough? Does it not test well? Is it not a marketable brand, Brand?”

For the @xmenofcolor event!    Eden Fesi aka Manifold and Takeshi “Taki” Matsuya aka Wiz Kid, playing golf! I don’t know why I picked golf, I just did, it just popped in my head. Maybe they’re there to see why old rich white men love this thing so much.  Eden is of indigenous Australian descent and Taki is Japanese America, they’re both on the current S.W.O.R.D team and they’re really cool!  Traced Taki’s chair from THIS PANEL by Valerio Schiti because I just couldn’t draw the damn thing, I’m sorry, I make no money from this, only love!

Thunderbird is discussing with Captain Betsy when they feel the floating island is starting to shake. Although Gideon the External had been defeated by Wiz Kid and Trinary in the Cyberspace, the mutants on X-Corp Island face another problem. The floating island is now plummeting to its doom! The island is falling because both Gideon's cyberattack and the tech kids' counterattacks did their damage on the computer system in the cyberspace and its thrusters on the island. While everyone are scrambling to take control of the falling island, Thunderbird grumbles about their predicament. Captain Betsy gives a telepathic call to Rictor so that he could make a landmass to break the fall for the falling island. Rictor manages to create a landmass out of the ocean floor so the island lands safe and sound. Even though everyone are safe; Wiz Kid and Trinary blame themselves for putting everyone in danger.

@danishsweethearts I saw you tag that post about Wiz-Kid with “#I dont know who this is but I am obsessed” and this is Extremely Valid! Takeshi “Taki” Matsuya, aka Wiz-Kid, is a dyslexic, paraplegic Japanese-American mutant who was introduced back in the 80s as part of the same generation of teenage mutants that included Rictor, Boom-Boom, Rusty, Skids, Artie and Leech, with the power to psionically ‘technoform’ any metal, plastic or glass into pieces of working technology of his own design, as well as the ability to mentally control existing technology.
He and two of his friends once were mistaken for aliens when they went joy-riding in a flying saucer he made for the hell of it, and he was once kidnapped by a demon from Limbo who tried to use Taki’s powers to invent a kind of super-computer that could merge with his demon magic and enable him to cast a hundred times more spells than he could on his own, until Taki escaped and joined up with the rest of the X-Terminators and the New Mutants to defeat the demon. He’s one of the more powerful mutants out there, but per canon flies under the radar of most groups in the Marvel U because he hacks government databases to make sure he’s not in any of them anywhere. And he flies around in his hover-chair that could have any number of bells and whistles hidden within it, capable of who knows what, because the technology he designs doesn’t have to make sense to anyone but him. He’s like “might defy the laws of nature and physics today just to keep them on their toes, we’ll see how it goes.”
He’s absolutely ridiculous and highly under-rated, but appears to be a major part of the new S.W.O.R.D. comic.
