#taking care of cats as an act of redemption
one-1-eye · 2 months
Text
aelwyn having 10 cats makes me want to cry actually. not because it’s goofy to have so many cats, but because like - she didn’t take care of adaine when she needed it most, but she can take care of those cats
she goes to shelters and asks for the cats who have been there the longest, who need love and care more than anything, and she gives them a home even if it’s just her tiny apartment
yes, she needs them because she is lonely and healing and she doesn’t know where she belongs in the world anymore but they need her too - to clean up their vomit and hold them and love them - and this time she is going to get it right, damn it

You didn’t know but with a twist
Hazbin Hotel! Adam x Fem!Reader
Warning: swearing
Tumblr media
A/N: Hey<3 My name is Verosika and I’ll write fanfictions whenever I have the time to :) This is my first time writing one, so it’s based on the song "You didn’t know" to make it easier for me. Just to let you know english isn’t my first language..so be prepared for some grammar mistakes :,D
Y/N POV:
We all sat in the courtroom, waiting for the trail to begin. Next to me was my husband Adam and Lute. I wasn’t supposed to be here but Adam wanted me to hear the "childish" and unrealistic ideas of the princess of hell.
After everyone was here Sera spoke "We're gathered here today to determine whether or not a soul in Hell, can be redeemed into heavenly realm by means of this 'Hazbin hotel', Princess Morningstar?",Sera said wanting Charlie to speak up.
I looked down to Charlie,my head resting on Adam’s shoulder. "Webster's dictionary defines redemption as-" before Charlie could speak Adam interrupts her: "Objection, lame and unoriginal". I sighed at his immature behaviour and gave him a slight bump with my head.
Charlie was flipping through her cards making Adam roll his eyes. "If you have actually evidence, then show it already." He said, glaring at Charlie. "We have two patrons already they’re making incredible progress" Charlie defended and I smiled, "Who?", I asked. "Angel Dust" Charlie spoke. "Oh yeah, the pornstar demon" Adam snickered as he added. "He's totally worth being redeemed".
Suddenly Monika, another demon stood up. "Well then, if you know so much…what do you think it takes to get into heaven?",she spoke. It was quiet until I asked if Adam was okay. He scoffed as he pulled out a golden paper from his pockets and a pen, "Give me a fucking moment, okay?",he then started writing and gave me the paper as I read it out, "Act selfless, don't steal, stick it to the man?", I chuckled looking at him with an raised eyebrow. He shrugged "Uh, yeah? Sure got me here...didn't it?",he said seemingly questioning himself. Sera sighed before saying: "He was the first human soul in heaven."
In the following hours Charlie showed us the improvement of this demon called Angel dust and how he did everything what Adam wrote on his list but nothing happened. Sera only sighed as she wanted to declare the trail as failed and that we will see what brings someone to heaven when the first soul arrives. I sat there with my head hanging. I felt bad for keeping my secret, especially when I looked over to Emily, who held the paper that Adam had written earlier.
Emily: But she was right, Sera. She showed us a soul can improve. He saw the light, Sera. Checked all the boxes that you said would prove a person deserves a second chance. Now we turn our backs, no second glance?
Sera: It's not as simple as you think. Not everything is spelled in ink.
Charlie: It's not fair, Sera!
Vaggie: Careful, Charlie, keep a cool head.
Charlie: No! Don't you care, Sera? That just because someone is dead, it doesn't mean they can't resolve to change their ways turn the page, escape infernal blaze.
Y/N: I'm sure you wish it could be so. But there's a lot that you don't know.
Lute: What are we even talkin' about? Some crack-whore who fucked up already? He blew his shot, like the cocks in his mouth. This discussion is senseless and petty.
Lute & Adam: There's no question to be posed! He's unholy, case closed. Did you forget that Hell is forever?
Adam: A man only lives once, we'll see you in one month. Gotta say, I can't wait to…
Y/N: Adam…
Adam: Come down and exterminate you.
Emily: Wait!
Adam: Shit…
Emily: What are you saying? Let me get this straight…You go down there and kill those poor souls?
Charlie & Y/N: You didn’t know?
Adam: Whoops
Lute: Guess the cat’s out of the bag.
Adam: What’s the big deal?
Emily: Sera, tell me that you didn't know…
Sera: I thought, since I'm older it's my load to shoulder
Emily: No!
Sera: You have to listen, it was such a hard decision. I wanted to save you, the anguish it takes to do what was required.
Emily: To think that I admired you, well I don't need your condescension. I'm not a child to protect! Was talk of virtue just pretension? Was I too naive to expect you to heed the morals you're purveying?
Charlie: That's what the fuck I've been saying!
Emily,Charlie & Monika: If Hell is forever, then Heaven must be a lie! If angels can do whatever, and remain in the sky. The rules are shades of gray, when you don't do as you say. When you make the wretched suffer just to kill them again.
Monika: Don't you act all high and mighty!Adam did you ever think your "sweet" wife might be a liar?
Y/N: Huh? Wait no…please!
Monika: Don’t be such a crybaby! Why hide the fact that you were a demon just like us?

Clear Sky is a Monster.
Of all the characters in Warrior Cats, I think Clear Sky was the most heavily mishandled.
At every turn, the narrative begs you to sympathize with him, to "understand" the "misunderstood." To this end, his brother Gray Wing is used to "keep faith" in his inherent goodness, his abused son, Thunder, is forced to go back to him over and over, and his second dead wife is completely lobotomized in death to absolve him of all sin.
Because of this, of all this set-up for the "redemption" arc they're trying to tell in the last three books, DOTC is Clear Sky's story. Everything primarily exists to benefit and serve his arc. Thunder and Gray Wing might have POVs, but HE is the character who truly drives the plot. So in order to HAVE conflict for that back half, two evil foreign cats, Slash and One Eye, are summoned to act as contrast.
Their narrative purpose is to display "true evil" to make Clear Sky look less bad in comparison. Unfortunately, Clear Sky is the most malignant, deadly character who has ever blighted Warrior Cats.
The "pure evil" examples they summon aren't effective contrasts because they're flat. Clear Sky is what real abusers look like.
His rhetoric is what it sounds like when a cult leader is trying to keep control over a group. He lies when it benefits him, justifies his actions with his tragic backstory to assuage his guilt and manipulate others, and violently lashes out when his feelings are hurt before blaming his victim for making him angry.
He only made "some mistakes" in that SOME of his actions were accidents-- the vast majority of them were malicious, self-absorbed, intentional choices to punish, hurt, and kill others.
I've spoken about Bumble. I've tallied his body count next to Tigerstar. I've talked about how his infant son's death was his fault in sequel books, and called attention to the infected wound face shoving scene that no one talks about. I can't fit every detail into a single post-- because he's so rancid that I would practically be posting entire books.
So what I want to do here is tackle the heart of Clear Sky. Everything he does, everything he's motivated by, is absolute and utter control over other people. He leverages his "trauma" to evoke empathy from his targets to make them easier to manipulate. He's a dirty liar. He breaks down to physical violence when all other tactics stop working.
He's one of the most severe and realistic abusers I've ever read about outside of very adult literature-- and when I read the reasons why he's attracted to Star Flower, my stomach immediately lurched.
The Killing of Misty
Starvation Rhetoric and the Memory of Fluttering Bird
Aside; a question
Hunger as a punishment; he doesn't care about starvation
Exoneration arc
Predation: Star Flower is a replacement for his son.
I think that index is an evocative content warning. But to say it again; this post contains child and domestic abuse, physical assault, public humiliation, incestuous grooming implications, and a lot of murder.
I need to start with the death of Misty. I see a few people saying that Clear Sky killed her for "being on his land" or trespassing, but this is actually a misstatement that I feel is important to correct.
Misty and her children were on their own land. It was her house. Clear Sky killed her to take it.
This is one of the most important details to remember about Clear Sky, that this is the consistent end point of his obsessive need for power and control. By harassment, by violence, or by death, he will brutalize anyone who does not give him what he wants, or who makes him feel bad, and find some way to justify it.
Tumblr media
This territory expansion was for no logical reason. There was plenty of food and plenty of land. Any aggression that's happening on this territory is in response to how he's been stealing land and mauling people.
When it's found out she was fighting to defend her children, Clear Sky's immediate response is to slaughter them too.
Tumblr media
Petal doesn't have milk either. It wasn't about the logistics. He wanted to kill the kids, because looking at them made him feel bad, and she just managed to stop him.
Starvation Rhetoric and the Image of Fluttering Bird
It is often said that Clear Sky is doing this because he's "traumatized" from how his little sister, Fluttering Bird, starved to death in the mountains. That the emotion came from wanting to feed people. That's incorrect. It wasn't about food. Fluttering Bird's death, and all the "starvation" he's faced, are used as manipulation tactics to guilt, influence, and control other characters, particularly when he might meet resistance or be held accountable for something.
It was always, ALWAYS, about control.
He does not care about actually helping people; "Starvation Rhetoric" through Fluttering Bird is an image he can invoke to justify the actions that are as bloody and cruel as the one this post starts off with. Either in his own mind, or in the minds of the cats he's manipulating.
He does this to Falling Feather, before slicing her face open in anger when she doesn't buy it. He does it to Rainswept Flower, before he strangles her to death. And he does it in the chapter just before Misty's murder, both to his Clan and then to Thunder,
Tumblr media
Clear Sky climbed up in front of an entire crowd and gave a grand speech about hunger and "adjusting" the borders around territory he plans to conquer. When he gets to "forgiveness" he feigns pain to make his point because he is performing. If the sentiment is not a total lie, then at bare minimum, he is intentionally playing this up for the crowd.
He is rallying the Clan to support his violence against the cats whose land he wants to steal, and selling it with his life's hardships.
The audience is clearly well-trained, because several cats recognize the cue, particularly Frost who is praised for loudly comforting him. This signals "loyalty" because showing your sympathy towards his "suffering" is how this type of emotional manipulation works. It creates a persecuted, righteous in-group.
He's also apparently used this tactic before, since this entire crowd knows what "I Would Never Forgive Myself " means.
He's made sycophants out of his followers. Like a cult leader.
His abused son, however, hasn't been fully indoctrinated yet. Seeing Thunder uncomfortable with the idea of expanding the borders for no reason, Clear Sky calls him over for a personal propaganda session.
Tumblr media
Clear Sky begins the exchange by calling this a "duty" and a "great honor." Immediately framing what he plans to do as righteous.
He puts on the act when Thunder shows resistance, dramatically pausing to let the guilt trip sink in.
"Thunder waited, realizing that he said the wrong thing."
And then Clear Sky launches into infantilizing Thunder, talking down to him like a child who's too inexperienced to see the "signs of starvation," acting like he's being "patient" in "explaining" it.
And then we get it. "I know what starvation looks like (so stop trusting your own eyes) because I have been through more than you (so shut up and do what I tell you), and I'm being a HERO for what I'm about to do (so opposing me would make you a bad person)."
Thanks to these crocodile tears, looking "moved," the act works. The victim is immediately wracked by guilt because the abuser seems genuinely emotional.
He even lovebombs him over the corpse of Misty in the next chapter, making Thunder feel threatened.
Tumblr media
Thunder doesn't have the words to describe what is happening to him, but he knows that this sudden snap to praise isn't natural. That something is very wrong.
A Question.
Before I move on to show that this IS an act, and that he is lying about how important avoiding starvation is to him, I will ask a question. Please think about it, because I promise I mean it genuinely;
Why does it matter if Clear Sky actually believes this or not?
The victims are just as dead either way, yes? Thunder is just as abused and guilt tripped. The entire Clan has been driven towards violence while coddling and cooing at their Supreme Leader. Clear Sky is slowly annexing the entire forest. If you have ever accepted that he had "good intentions" as an excuse for the harm he did, or that abuse and murder was what he imagined was "the right thing," or that his trauma justifies the way he leverages his own pain to make cats do what he wants... why do you think that?
Why does that make it morally better, as the narrative concludes? Would you accept the same for every other WC villain or antagonist? Tigerstar? Slash? Tom the Wifebeater? Brokenstar? Rainflower?
How could you tell the difference, if you couldn't read their actual thoughts on the page? ...are there any other "good intentions" you've accepted, somewhere else?
Don't share that answer with me. It's a question for you. Sit with it.
Hunger as a punishment; he doesn't care about starvation.
...but, regardless, Clear Sky is not deluded about starvation. It's a justification for his obsessive need for control, and always has been. There was no shortage before stealing Misty's land and kits, he is fully aware that there's more prey than they can eat.
He punishes Falling Feather with hunger and harassment for thought crime, by briefly thinking of leaving. But first, he invokes Fluttering Bird at her like he did before, flying into a screeching fit of rage when she doesn't buy it,
Tumblr media
"I'm sorry I hurt you... BUT" is THE wifebeater phrase. THE stereotypical line of a domestic abuser. "I'm sorry I hit you... but it's your fault for making me so angry."
She went through the same exact starvation he did, calls out that he's just framing his greed as being for the collective benefit of his subjects, and is assaulted for that.
Tumblr media
When we're in his head, we see his REAL concerns are not about hunger. He invoked Fluttering Bird to try and make her shut up and bow down to him; what he's focused on is her "gossiping" and "whining" about the open wound he left on her face. He's still furious at Fircone and Nettle for how Thunder QUESTIONED him. So he will "strengthen their commitment."
When "starvation" DOES enter his thoughts, it is to assuage his own guilt and JUSTIFY what he already did. What he already WANTS to do. It's post-hoc.
Tumblr media
He had to suppress his own guilt at how his greed and ambition made these children into orphans, completely unable to admit that he's ever been wrong or has a change to make, so he invokes the starvation rhetoric at himself to excuse it. So he feels less bad.
Everything, EVERYTHING, in this confrontation is about his pleasure at being able to torment his subordinates. To continue the abuse when the initial confrontation is over. If it isn't pride in his power and control over them, it's plain sadism.
Tumblr media
He invokes starvation in front of the crowd, again, after being pleasured at the guilt in her eyes, hoping that everyone sees her writhing with shame and embarrassment. Fear wasn't at the root of why he assaulted Falling Feather; rage was, and now he feels better that he got to humiliate the person who offended him.
Starvation Rhetoric is a manipulation tactic.
It goes RIGHT BACK to his twisted idea of "loyalty." Obedience.
Tumblr media
A cat who's actually, primarily concerned about starvation wouldn't encourage other cats to steal her food if they feel like it. He wouldn't be using it as a weapon to retaliate against her because she hurt his feelings.
This is paired with the fact he restricts and monitors the diet of his cats. They eat when he allows it, and only what he gives them, in spite of there being piles of dead animals rotting, going to waste.
Tumblr media
We then find he personally doles out food from these piles, plucking carcasses off them and flinging them at his cats, one by one. Probably so he can watch how grateful they are to him and make sure they stay a little hungry-- and definitely because it means he can control WHO gets to eat at all.
If Clear Sky chucked a mouse at Falling Feather and someone took it? She would have gone hungry. For not groveling to him. Like when he decides to starve her brother; a hostage who he promised to feed and care for.
Tumblr media
He's a dishonest snake. He lied about abandoning baby Thunder, calling it a "test of strength," he lied about Bumble's death, he lied about keeping Jackdaw's Cry fed.
And he lied about starvation to Thunder, because he was just making up an excuse to steal more land.
He wasn't "seeing the signs" of starvation when he moved to "adjust" his borders. Even FURTHER into this so-called "delusional slip" into tyranny, he's freely admitting that it takes months for a person to starve when it benefits his sadistic need to punish undeserving cats.
"Dumb moor cats, always expecting more than they DESERVE."
Not need. DESERVE. It's not a delusion about starvation and it never was. STARVATION is how he CONTROLS SkyClan, and once again he's angry that his pleasure has been sullied.
The massacre at Fourtrees was started over Jackdaw's Cry catching a bat after being starved, on land that Clear Sky has decided RIGHT NOW that he also owns, because it mades him think about being disobeyed.
Tumblr media
The bat is forgotten as Clear Sky pivots into a tantrum, wanting to make his family HURT for being 'disloyal' and 'ungrateful.' For leaving him. He LIKES seeing people grovel, cower, and beg, getting PLEASURE from watching how he can hurt and command other cats, and if you don't give him what he wants he will kill you.
Which, make no mistake, is what the "First Battle" actually is. Clear Sky attempting to murder those who don't worship him or swear their undying fealty to him and his twisted dictatorship. Particularly his own son, the most prominent victim of his emotional abuse.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's not about the bat. It was never even about food or starvation. It's about retaliation for any perceived lack of control.
Once again he breaks out starvation rhetoric to try and manipulate someone, and when Rainswept Flower doesn't buy it just like Falling Feather didn't, he murders her in another fit of entitled rage.
Tumblr media
Exoneration arc.
At the end of this battle that was entirely his own fault, we're introduced to the hollowed-out ghost of Storm. She has been flushed of all personality, so that she can be the perfect narrative mouthpiece.
She accepts yet another Fluttering Bird Invocation in spite of how we saw it's not sincere. He was lying the entire time and using starvation rhetoric as a manipulation tactic to get control over his victims.
Tumblr media
And that's it.
That's the consequence. Storm's a little mad at him until he says "Buttering Flird" and she swoons.
He doesn't have to be ""afraid"" anymore because the cats just invented an afterlife to believe in. He keeps all of his power and influence and gets off scot-free, because "guilt" (which we SAW him repressing anyway) is supposed to be the best consequence for murder, abuse, and tyranny.
The husk of Storm even materializes again at the end of book 5 to say it outright; he "never drove anyone away." Not even after Book 4 where it's also his fault One Eye took over his Clan for 5 minutes. It was just destiny.
Tumblr media
His "redemption arc" is just an exoneration arc. The narrative doesn't think he really did anything wrong.
EVERYTHING about Clear Sky has ALWAYS been about making grabs at power, but since the narrative didn't see a problem with him extorting his personal tragedy and the death of a child, his own sister, he continues doing it. As if these behaviors are normal personality 'traits'.
Even when that sister COMES OUT OF HEAVEN TO YELL AT HIM DIRECTLY,
Tumblr media
He finds a way to COMPLETELY miss the point, so he can interpret her words in a bizarrely specific way that will conveniently end with him being the supreme dictator of the entire forest. Just like he ALWAYS does.
Tumblr media
It's the entire 5th book. Clear Sky trying to convince everyone, including himself, that it's Fluttering Bird who wants him to grab at power, NOT himself and his own ambition, that THIS time, he promises, for realsies, it's actually about keeping everyone safe.
But just like ALWAYS, because he does not change, when this tried and true tactic manages to work on Thunder, during ANOTHER exchange where he's dramatically pausing and using the cold shoulder to make his pitiable act land harder,
Tumblr media
He lapses right back into bullying his child, creating situations where Thunder will have difficulty or be put in pain, so that he can have an excuse to mock and belittle him.
Tumblr media
And this all comes to a head when Clear Sky takes romantic interest in Star Flower, his abused son's previous romantic interest.
Predation: Star Flower is a replacement for his son.
Direct parallels are drawn between Thunder and Star Flower. Star Flower contrasts her loyalty to her father to Thunder's "disloyalty" to his own, in an appeal to Clear Sky.
Tumblr media
Clear Sky brushes it off for now, citing that he cannot accept her because of who her father was.
But then, Thunder makes the connection between himself and her, because he knows what it is like to be a victim of parental abuse and correctly clocks that they have this in common,
Tumblr media
On his vouch, Clear Sky accepts her into the group. She starts trying to offer himself to him; hunting twice as hard as the others, self-imposing harsh conditions like taking a wet sleeping spot. In their second interaction, Clear Sky begins to take interest in her.
Thunder himself points out that Star Flower is seeking an abusive tyrant to replace her own father, which reads like he's deflecting the stress of how his father is abusing him to deny a connection he already made. As if Thunder sees so much of himself in Star Flower that it makes him (rightly) feel sick that his father is romantically invested in her;
Tumblr media
Thunder then goes on to follow his own advice and form his own Clan, because Clear Sky IS like One Eye... while Star Flower remains here. At Clear Sky's side. Because she feels like this is what she "deserves," that she "understands" him, truly believing that her crime (warning her father that Clear Sky brought an ambush in case he lost the 1 on 1 death match he requested, which he did) are on the same level as his abuse and murders.
Clear Sky is attracted to Star Flower because, in his own words;
Tumblr media
She is young.
Tumblr media
She will not betray him.
Tumblr media
She won't question him,
Tumblr media
and she obeys him.
We've seen what "betrayal" is to Clear Sky-- not taking his excuses or his beatings. To "disobey" is betrayal. To "question" is disobedience.
These are ALL things he's tried to drill into Thunder. We saw him happily exploit their difference in age to tell him he can't have an opinion. He constructed humiliating games in retaliation for ever being questioned. He tried to murder Thunder and his friends for their "betrayal." Even now, being disobeyed causes explosive reactions.
He was previously grooming the things he now identifies as attractive in a young woman into his child.
If your body becomes too useless to serve him, like Frost and Jagged Peak, you're thrown out. If you don't unquestioningly follow his bloody commands, like Falling Feather or Thunder, you're subjected to abuse and public humiliation. If you're in his way, like Misty or Rainswept Flower were, you die.
If you meet all of his expectations...
Tumblr media
You will be in a horrific position where you will never have agency over your own life ever again. Every move, every word, will have to be carefully crafted so that he feels like you're "loyal" to him by the arbitrary standard he feels that day. Never step out of line, never doubt his decisions, never live for anyone except him and the children you will give him, not even for a moment, because then you will not be "worthy" of his grace.
Star Flower would be in serious danger if this series wasn't written by abuse apologists. They accidentally wrote a perfect reflection of how child abuse victims often find themselves in unsafe and toxic romantic relationships with large age gaps which mirror what they went through as kids; but this team doesn't clock it, playing this relationship as wholesome and genuine.
He finally has someone who ""understands"" him. Because they think the character they wrote is misunderstood.
but reality is plain to see.
Clear Sky is a monster. The most realistic monster in all of WC-- far, far closer to real life predators and domestic abusers than the "born evil" rogues like Slash and One Eye. The Erins seem to believe that what separates Clear Sky from One Eye is "fundamental" good and "fundamental" evil, when the truth is that they'd be separated by very, very little.
If they had realistic motivations, they would be exactly like the character their existence is meant to excuse.
Slash and One Eye HAD to be kept flat and one-dimensional. If the book was more earnest, the only difference between Clear Sky and One Eye would have been that One Eye is stronger. So strong that Clear Sky needed to manipulate the other groups into helping him.
While anyone can change, not everyone will, and Clear Sky has no reason to. He sees no consequences. He has everything he wants; power, a pretty and obedient young mate, and unchecked authority over a brainwashed forest cult. There is always a victim on a leash, a naive enabler, or a bunch of desperate and gullible marks somewhere in his proximity to bully into doing his dirtywork
Whether his "intentions" were sincere or not (evidence points towards not) at its root it was always about control. Power is something he perpetually keeps, and continues to violently use.

︴✧Dating husk headcanons ✧︴
Gn reader, general hcs for husker :3
Tumblr media
When you first arrived at the hotel, you we're genuinely seeking redemption.
Your life wasn't horrible per-say, but you had definitely done some hell-worthy things, thus ending up down here.
When husk first saw you, he wasn't even paying attention. He simply saw a new resident and payed no mind
Although, you made an effort to bother him into being friends
You sat by the bar every once in a while and started up a few conversations, mostly with him grumbling a response.
After a while, he realized you were the only one at the hotel being genuine with him. You didn't put up an act or fake anything
He started talking to you more and more
Shit, does he actually enjoy your company?
Apparently, yes, because the two of you would talk more and more
He started noticing the little things
How you looked absolutely gorgeous in whatever you were wearing that day
How you looked into his eyes with such a caring gaze
Fuck he's so in love
When angel caught on that a little something was going on, he first came to you
Trying to convince you to go for it
Obviously you were reluctant
Luckily you didn't have to do anything!
Husk was drunk out of his mind talking to you at the bar, when he just threw out a few compliments and ended it with "mghfh-wish ya' were ma' girlfriend honestly..."
Fell asleep right after
Wtf do you do after that?????
The day after you full confessed and started dating!!!
Things about dating husk:
This man can NOT tie his own bowtie. Wore a clip-on for years because his paws were so big
You do it for him!! Help this big boy get a proper bowtie on
He is surprisingly cuddly, he's just very embarrassed about it.
It'll probably take a few months before he's fully opened up to sleeping with you (not like that y'all 😭)
He has trust issues and really needs support, but he knows you're always there for him
He's also a big fan of kisses! He loves it when you kiss his paws
Definitely gets all flushed and tries to hide it the first time you do it.
After a long day of work, all he wants to do is plop down on your chest and purr like a baby.
SPEAKING OF
this man purrs like CRAZY around you
Tries to hide it when cuddling? Fails miserably.
But you reassure him that you love his purring.
"Did you know cat's purring has been proven to have therapeutic benefits?"
That definitely calms his insecurities a bit
Overall 9/10 boyfriend. 1 point taken for alcoholismLMAO
I HOPE YOU ENJOYED!! requests are open! Please send in asks ♡
I write for everyone ‼️

before i mentioned cat villain! reader being friends w/ benefits with other villains right
just thinking
the batfam are awfully fixated on fixing reader a lot. they want you to stop your kleptomaniac ways. for you not to hurt people for the sake of your ideals.
i feel like it’s only with other villains where reader can truly be themselves and not be judged
which would make for some interesting dynamic where yes, they could be given a chance at redemption and be with the people they love.
but on the other hand, there are also these people who don’t care if you’re the worst of the worst as long as you’re with them. they’ll accept you for who you are and more.
like whenever you propose taking down someone(admittedly corrupt/evil) through violent means, the boys would most likely be like “hot but no.”
but your villain buddies would be like “that’s so hot, yes!!”
they’re just unequivocally devoted and supportive of what you and who you are that they’d be literally disappointed if you act in a way that isn’t you (but still love you anyhow)
like if reader is usually very prideful and greedy for example
maybe you worked with a friend for a heist and they ask to keep all of the money cause they either need it or will be using it for future projects together
but naur reader is like “uh no.”
but then villain friend continues to insist.
and reader goes “i’m keeping half and nothing less. and by nothing less that means stealing all of your share if you refuse.”
and villain friend, instead of being mad is just like, “as expected my dear i knew you wouldn’t go down so easily.”
they’re just so smitten with you
and it would make for one big bloody fight for when the batfam starts influencing you with their icky ‘justice’ driven acts.
(fucken realized that writing this just cements that Jason is the best match for Cat Villain! Reader good lawd cause you know he’d be supportive for everything they do but makes sure Reader stays grounded)
(im rotting)
(im rotting so badly)

Short fic: Whose fault?
Husker had been in one of his .. less than pleasant moods today. Not that the feline was a happy camper on a regular day but he either tended to be much more passive, minding his own business or actually in good spirits thanks to the delusions of Hells Princess having caught unto him. Alastor made a mental note to take care of that last part. Not that he usually minded Husker actually having any sort of positive emotions, he always preached about how good the simple act of smiling and being in a constant good mood was after all, but his cat seemed to be in need of a reminder that this was a temporary project and that redemption was nothing but a dream especially for demons like him who were better off as he was anyway.
No, Husker was in one of his moods where he decided that blaming Alastor for well, everything was a good idea.
And Alastor was in one of these moods where instead of outright punishing Husker (the Radio Demon did not easily get angry at his favorite souls, seeing Huskers little acts of 'rebellion' and outspokenness more like the hissing and the stubbornness of his catlike nature and therefore as something more amusing than annoying most of the time. Provided Husker did not dare to mention certain things) he simply decided to treat him with the truth.
"Oh, then I am quite sorry, Husker.", Alastor said as he came towards his cat (demon) in a way that was intimidating enough to shut the other demon up. "Because it seems that I .. misremember certain things. After all, the way you talk about it, it sounds to me like I forced you into our little arrangement."
They were now rather close. Alastor forcing his feline friend to look up at him by touching his face in what could be described as a sincere parody of affection "So tell me, my friend, did I force your hand? Was I the one to even bring up the possibility of you selling your soul to me?"
Ever the honest fellow, Husker answered rather reluctantly.
"No, Boss."
"Then tell me since my memory of what happened after our little game seems to be rather incomplete today."
"I... offered up myself in exchange for my casino."
"Oh, that's right. Now, I am starting to remember. You begged me to take your soul in exchange for even just half the things I won that night."
Now their faces were just inches away from each other.
"What was it that I said again?"
And oh, Alastor could see the conflict, the anger and the resulting submission and regret in these eyes.
"That you.. always wanted to have a cat."
"And what did you answer?"
"That if...if you give me back what I lost.. "
Silence hung between them but Alastor made it clear that he was not going to let Husk leave until he finished that sentence.
"I'll be that cat."
Any tension and threat disappeared into thin air, as Alastor let him go with a "Wonderful. So it seems that I was not the one to ruin your life and force you to be mine after all."
Alastor walked away, but only after shortly petting Husker briefly as a sort of 'reward' for his admission.
"Seems you only have yourself to blame for this."

HAPPY LESBIAN VISIBILITY WEEK BITCHES!! i bring you angst.
——
Redemption
Chaggie x Emilute
——
“But she was right, Sera,” Emily sang, hopodiah up the paper, “she showed us a soul can improve, he saw the light Sera,” she flew up, “checked all the boxes the you said would..” Emily continued and Lute felt guilt coming up in the pit of her stomach.
“It’s not fair, Sera,” Charlie jumped in, a mix of determination and anger spread on her face.
“Careful, Charlie, keep a cool head,” Vaggie placed a hand on Charlie’s shoulder.
“No!” Charlie pushed her hand off and walked forward, “don’t you care, Sera? That just because someone is dead, it doesn’t mean they can’t resolve to change their ways! Turn their backs, escape infernal blaze!”
“I really wish it could be so, but there’s a lot that you don’t know!”
Lute knows she’s gonna retreat this, but she chimes in as well, “what are we even talking about, some crack whore who fucked up already?!” Lute avoided Emily’s eyes, “he blew his shot like the cocks in his mouth this discussion is sensless and petty!”
Adams jumps up and the two start singing, “there’s no question to be posed, he’s unholy case closed, did you forget that hell is forever?!”
Adam smirks, “a man only lives once, we’ll see you in one month!” He steps closer to Charlie, “gotta say I can’t wait to..”
“Adam..” Lute mumbles under her breath.
“Come down an exterminate you!”
“Wait!” Emily flies down.
“Shit..” Lute looks away.
“What are you saying? Let me get this straight, you go down there and kill those poor souls?” Emily was furious.
“You didn’t know?” Charlie tilts her head.
Lute takes a deep breath, “guess the cats out of the bag,” she puts on a fake smile.
“What’s the big deal?” Adam smirks.
“Sera,” Emily looks at Sera with pleading eyes, “tell me that you didn’t know.”
Sera flew down there, “I thought since I’m older, it’s my load to shoulder!
“No..”
“You have to listen, it was such a hard decision!” Sera reached her hands out but Emily pulled away, “I wanted to save you, the anguish it takes to do what was required!”
Emily clenches her fists and starts flying, “to think that I admired you, well I don’t need your condescension, I’m not a child to protect! Was talk of virtue just pretension? Was I too naive to expect you to heed the morals you’re proveying?” Emily flies down to Charlie.
Charlie nods, “that’s what the fuck I’ve been saying!”
They grabbed each other hands, “if hell is forever then heaven must be a lie! If angels can do whatever and remain in the sky! The rules are shades of grey if you don’t do as they say, when you make the retched suffer just to kill them again!”
“I was told not trust in angels,” Charlie gave Vaggie a soft look and she gave the princess a look of guilt.
“By her?” Adam smirks.
Lute knew she was in deep shit so she just doesn’t care anymore, “ha! She should go,” she smirks and places an arm on Vaggie.
Vaggie pushes her off and walked closer to her girlfriend, “we should go-”
“No!” Charlie grabbed her hands, “don’t you see we’ve come so close? Look at them fighting, they’re at each others throats!”
“Don’t you act all high and mighty,” Lute and Adam circled Vaggie, “did you ever think your little girlfriend might be a liar?” Adam smirked.
“Adam, don’t, please..”
“What’s the fuss?” Adam walked closer to her, “why hide the fact that you’re an angel just like us?” Lute pulled on Vaggie and made her face Charlie with a smirk.
Charlie had a look of anger, confusion, and terror in her eyes as she fell to her knees. Her hands were in her face as she starts crying and Vaggie runs to her, wrapping her arms around her.
——
The portal closes as soon as Charlie and Vaggie are back in hell. Vaggies heart is beating and Charlie’s eyes are red and puffy from crying. A lot was revealed today, and neither of them know how to feel.
“Charlie-” before Vaggie can even get a chance to speak, Charlie walks out of their room. She groans and plops down on the bed, her face in the pillows.
There was a knock on the door, “go away!” Vaggies voice was muffled because of the pillows.
Despite what she had said, Angel barged in. “Hey, so Charlie just ran out of the hotel with her horns and tail out. Mind telling me what happened?” Charlie usually only has her demon form out when she’s really stressed or emotional.
“I. Don’t. Want. To. Talk.” Vaggie mumbles into the pillows.
“Talkin’ about it will make ya feel better, toots,” Angel sits on the bed.
Vaggie sighs and rolls on her back, looking up at Angel. She knew he wasn’t gonna give up. “So, let’s just say a lot happened at the meeting,” she sighs and he gave her a look that tells her to continue, “well, apparently no one but the head seraphim and the exorcists knew about the exterminations.”
“Oh?” Angel crosses his arms.
“And we used you as an example, but they still believe that no soul can be redeemed,” Vaggie rolls her eyes. She left out the one part that Angel deserves to know, and Angel picked up on that.
“Is that all?” He tilts his head.
Vaggie takes a deep breath and stands up from the bed, looking out if the window. “No, there’s..” she turns to look at him, “there’s something else that I need to say,” she sighs and Angel nods, “it was revealed that..I used to be an exorcist angel.”
——
Emily’s in her room, her head pounding and her heart racing. There was so much that was impacted in that meeting and she doesn’t know how to handle it all.
There was a knock, “come in,” her voice was soft and the door opened and shut. Her back was facing the door and she was sitting on her bed so she couldn’t see who walked in, but she didn’t need to see. She just knew who it was because it’s the same person who comes to see her after every meeting.
Lute takes a deep breath, “Em, I-”
“I don’t want to hear it,” Emily stands up and turns to face Lute.
“Please-”
“No! You’ve kept something from me you knew that I deserved to know! These exterminations have been happening for god knows how long, and you didn’t tell me!” Emily snaps, “those souls, human souls..they don’t deserve that, demon or not!”
“If you understood-”
“What I don’t understand is-” Emily sighs, “what I don’t understand is how you could keep something like this from someone you fell in love with.”
“Emily, please-” Emily ignores Lute and flies out her window.
Lute clenches her fists and throws her helmet on the ground.
——
Charlie returns to the hotel. Her hair was a mess and she had dark circles under her eyes. Vaggie looks over, she was sitting on the couch with Angel.
Charlie yawns as she drags her feet to the bar, ignoring Vaggie and Angel. She isn’t one to drink, but she really needs this.
Husk raises an eyebrow as he makes her a drink, something light since she isn’t really used to it, and hands it to her, “you look like shit.”
Charlie groans, “you have no idea,” she takes a sip of her drink and makes a weird face, shaking her head.
“I heard..what happened,” Husk sighs, “do you wanna talk about it?”
“Depends..is she here?” Charlie asked.
Husk shakes his head, “Angel took her out..she looked like she needed a break.”
Charlie scoffs, “she needs a break? As if she didn’t lie to me for years? We share everything together, she should’ve known that I would’ve understood if she told me that she was an exorcist angel.”
Husk opens his mouth, but closes it, trying to figure out what to say. He opens it again, “well, did you try asking her why she didn’t tell you?”
Charlie looks down and shakes her head, “I’m..afraid of her answer.”
Husk sighs, pouring himself a drink, “you know,” he takes a big drink, “it’s okay to be scared, that’s apart of life..but so is talking. Relationships aren’t always so perfect. Fights and mistakes are what makes them healthy and special. I’m not saying that you need to fight 24/7, I’m saying that..you guys will overcome this situation. All you need to do is talk it out.”
Charlie sighs. She knew that Husk was right and she nods, “when did you get so good at this relationship stuff?” She jokes with a smile.
Husk smiles back as he looks at Angel, who’s talking to Vaggie, “since I got into one myself,” he looks back at Charlie, “now, go talk to her. Make things right.”
Charlie nods, taking a deep breath before standing up. She slowly makes her way to the couch and Vaggie looked up from her conversation with Angel, making eye contact with Charlie. Charlie holds her hand out with pleading eyes and Vaggie doesn’t hesitate to take it.
——
Lute finds Emily on the top of a mountain, but not just any mountain. It was the mountain Emily took them in their first date, before they made it official. Lute remembers it like it was yesterday.
Emily had taken them to the tallest mountain in heaven to have a picnic. She decorated it so the trees lit up and the pink roses were brighter than before. Back then was so easy, Lute thought. Never in a million years would she had thought that Emily found out about the exterminations.
Without saying anything, Lute turns to fly away, thinking about how stupid this is, but she stops herself when she hears a voice, “you know..” Lute gulps and turns to look back at Emily, “maybe I overreacted.”
Lute tilts her head as she sits down next to Emily, their legs hanging off the edge of the cliff. “What do you mean?”
Emily sighs as she stares at the city of heaven, “maybe I overreacted..” she repeats herself, “after finding out about the exterminations,” she pauses, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have snapped, it’s just..we’ve been dating for a few months and you’ve..kept something from me that goes against what I’m trying to stop.”
Lutes breath is shaky as she opens her mouth, but then closes it. She didn’t know what to say. She couldn’t find the right words.
The two were quiet for like 15 minutes, neither knowing what to say. Until Emily opened her mouth, “can we just..forget about everything?” She takes a glance at Lute, “maybe I overreacted, I just-”
Lute takes Emily’s hand into her own, “it’s okay, you didn’t overreact. I should’ve told you about the exterminations to begin with, I acted stupid,” she sighs, “I’m sorry, I really am.”
——
“I’m sorry, I really am,” Vaggie speaks, her voice is quiet and soft. She and Charlie were sitting on their bed, “I’d understand if you didn’t forgive me, or if you needed time..I should’ve told you, I was just scared, and..”
“Vaggie-” Charlie tries to cut in.
“When you found me that day, you were so nice to me..”
“Vaggie-” Charlie tried again.
“I just..I don’t understand..how you could be so nice to someone you knew nothing about. I didn’t tell you because I was scared..scared of losing the best thing that happened to me..and I’d understand if you wanted t-”
“Vaggie!” Finally, Vaggies eyes meet Charlie’s. She was expecting a look of anger and disappointment, but she was brought a look of love. Charlie cups Vaggies face, “it’s okay,” she whispers, “I promise..I overreacted and I should’ve let you explain. I was hurt, but I’m not now. I just..wish you would’ve told me sooner, and I would’ve preferred finding out from you and not some prick,” the princess smiles when she hears Vaggie let out a chuckle. She presses a kiss onto her forehead before pulling her in for a hug, “I love you.”
Vaggie smiles for the first time in a few days, “more than anything.”

wish script doctor bc i feel like this movie could've been a lot stronger with some things altered. like i dont even think it needs a complete story overhaul, a handful of changes could make it much tighter imo
asha does not live so close to central rosas, but a village on the outskirts of the kingdom, and this will be her first time venturing to see the mythical king in person.
not all wishes are equal in this magic system. selfish and shallow wishes do not contain much power, but noble and selfless wishes are very strong. (also i don't see the point of forgetting your wish you made?)
the grandad was animated way too in shape for 100 years old, make him weaker and frail. hell, put him on his death bed to raise the stakes.
perhaps have asha's grandfather be an esteemed but very humble scholar or medicine healer whose dying wish is to establish a library or hospital for the local people (or something). asha believes that if she meets with king magnifico herself, she can convince him to grant her grandfathers' wish. she believes she can do this because an old childhood friend of hers now works in the castle as his aid.
asha travels to rosas and meets her friend dahlia. expecting her to be very close to the king, dahlia sheepishly admits to being a much lower ranked servant who hardly ever sees the king in person, but still sneaks asha in to show her around the castle because she's such a fan of magnifico + introduce asha to all her friends/coworkers.
have dahlia be the only primary friend, relegate the rest of the lot to the background. we don't need much time with them all, use it to strengthen other relationships.
asha attends a wish granting ceremony and magnifico does not grant grandad's wish. after the event asha uses a sneaky corridor that she just learnt to ambush magnifico and plead her case to him. away from the crowd he goes mask off and tells her to fuck off, asha narrowly escapes his guards.
defeated, she sings her I Wish song and we meet the star.
instead of the short guy, have valentino play the grouchy foil. valentino hates the star, and they have slapstick together. hell if disney wants to be meta, have him resent the star for turning him into a funny talking animal or something.
dahlia is the only one who believes asha when she tells her about meeting the wishing star. the other friends think she's some kind of lunatic from out of town until they see the star for themselves.
have queen amaya be equally self absorbed as king magnifico and together act as an evil couple like in the concept art. she enjoys the luxury of being a self-made monarch and throws lavish balls and pampers her shitty cats or something. make them evil and campy together like mink stole and david lochary in a john waters film (we've had a villain based on divine, now its their turn)
alternatively, amaya can still have a redemption, but later on in the third act. perhaps she's vain and perfectly content with a certain level of fraud until magnifico crosses a line. have magnifico explain to her long ago that he gets strength from the wishes, but he only culls the shitty wishes bad people make. amaya thinks its reasonable that he crushes the wishes of bad people and people who "deserve" it. but selfish wishes aren't as powerful, and as magnifico begins to crave more and more power, he begins taking more innocent wishes to power himself. maybe he finally crushes the wish of some sick kid or asha's grandfather and that finally snaps amaya into realizing what they're doing has become completely irredeemable. i know disney is allergic to writing romance now so have asha stay single and instead take some time to explore this romantic relationship.
asha & co. defeat magnifico with the power of friendship or whatever, maybe even have the final final part of the battle be between magnifico vs amaya as asha rushes to care for her grandfather after his wish was just crushed. or magnifico goes full magical sorcerer and explodes asha's family home or something
everyone in rosas realizes they don't need magnifico to live their dreams and together (with some pitching in from a now queen-regent amaya) asha is able to build the library/school/hospital/insert public service building her grandad always wanted. amaya hangs the magnifico mirror above her cats' litter boxes. the end

Hi, I’m back from watching the first episode of Hazbin Hotel, here are my thoughts on it.
But first, here is the swear counter:
Fuck - 22
Shit - 12
Bitch - 5
Damn -
Ass - 2
Cock/Dick - 5
Porn/Sex - 6
Tits/Boobs - 2
Pussy/Vagina/ Cunt - 2
Spoilers under the break.
The Good/ Things I Enjoyed:
Vaggie, Alastor, Charlie, Husk, and Nifty all have pretty good voice acting.
The two that stand out to me as my favorites are Husk and Nifty. Husk sounds well husky. It sounds like he smokes or used to smoke and there’s this gritty gruff to it. It really fits his character well. Like if you had to ask me what the voice of a bar tender gambling winged cat demon was? That is it.
Nifty’s voice acting also hits that sweet spot with her character where it sounds small like a balloon or squeaky toy but also small like a needle or a switch blade if that makes sense.
Overall I love Nifty so much. The gag of her freezing up when Vaggie tries to film her was great. Having it happen twice hit that joke sweet spot of letting it set in and be executed without over staying. It also fits her character well since she’s a little bit weird (such a blorbo) and I would like to headcanon that since she was summoned by Alastor, she kinda shares his distaste for video.
Also I am deeply hoping to hear more Spanish be spoken by Vaggie. Both the upset Spanish ranting and her sweetly singing to Charlie in Spanish. Imagine Charlie singing back also in Spanish. Would be neat I think.
The other two things was the Helluva reference on the side of a van and a Travis cameo. That was neat, adding some consistency to the world.
The Bad / Things I Didn’t Like:
Idk if it was just me but at least at the start, the animation looked choppy when Vaggie and Charlie were speaking at first. But for the rest of the episode it was pretty alright. Certainly doesn’t feel like a professional production level but that is what you get when you pay people slave wages Viv. I do hope that the animators can take some pride in their work, especially the more fluent movements during the songs.
Speaking of songs, Happy Day In Hell is alright. Nothing stand out but it’s good.
Adam’s song meanwhile. Ugh. Not fully committing to the rock/punk, still being another generic pop song, and overall adds onto my issues with Adam as a character and the whole “THE ANGELS ASCTHUCALLY BAD YOU GUYS” thing is, ugh.
It boils down to:
1) If Heaven is also as bad as Hell, why even bother with redemption?
2) Is it just the Exterminators who are corrupt? Also several demons were killed while Charlie sang so like what makes the Exterminations so bad if a second death is constantly happening casually?
3) Why do any of the Exterminators follow Adam? Also Adam has been written as a hand holder for the audience so you know who to hate (he got Stella’d).
4) I see how Viv is trying to tackle the issues of the patriarchy and misogyny in this but like, does she think that redeems her from how she’s handled Helluva Boss? (Once more, Stella.)
On the topic of male characters, who is Alastor anymore? He used to be smug and commanding and set up as a manipulative deal maker that doesn’t really care for the well being of others and now he just kinda walks around mocking Vaggie and Charlie? Idk just feels like Alastor is being added on top of the list of characters (which is like everyone but Vaggie) that don’t believe in Charlie to manage redemption.
Do wish for more spooky moments with him though.
Now onto Angel.
Why does his voice sound like a deflated worm out balloon? It caught me so off guard and it’s just nails on a chalkboard for me.
And the sex jokes, two of which stuck out to me as “can you not?”
“This body was made to be exploited” by Angel. I don’t think I have to explain why having your SA character say that line out loud and frame it as a humorous comment is a good look. Classic Viv moment.
“I like being forced” by Nifty. Yes, what a great line to have given to the small, child appearing character. It felt so forced and pushed outside of Nifty’s usual weirdness too.
Also dare I forget how Amazon had this marked as 15+ (I believe) before changing it to 18+. Which good catch there guys cause during Charlie’s song, we get a quick scene of two demons fucking.
Not saying that scene was quite as offensive as it was just boring middle schooler level humor like Alastor’s ad having a toilet joke in it and Blitzø like drawings/notes at the end.
What did manage to give me the ick was how Nifty and Angel kept hitting on Husk. Nifty not as much, but Angel was just down right creepy. Husk himself states that he is at the hotel against his will (whole new can of worms there) and now Angel is hitting on him and making constant unwanted advances?
But with that we’re meant to clap and ship away but then we jump cut to Adam calling Charlie “babe” over and over and we’re meant to boo? Which direction are we going with this Viv?
One last thing, I knew that Brandon as Katie would sound horrible but I got jumpscared by Tom’s ye ye ass quality voice.
I would give it a 3/10 maybe a 4/10
Just not worth it man

Its me again, I have some free time. Hi!
(You give so much information, I was thinking about how to word my questions until now.)
So... you said that... Okay, lets take an example, Declan hunts people who are greedy, power hungry. And you said that um, if I got it right, that the same thing, which fated him how he will look like and what kind of people he will hunt, also will decide who will be his heart.
Does that mean that, maybe, his heart is the fully opposite of the people he hunts?
Next one isnt actually a question (yet lol), but more likely a uh.. thing I realized.
So, he hunts people, bad people, thats his life goal, until he finds his heart. Then from that point his first goal is to be with his heart. Just, there, next to them, right?
(Omg, I only wanted to say two things but another jumped into my mind.) What if his heart doesnt need anything from him? Like, his heart has everything already, and like, literally needs nothing more. No life goals to reach, no one to actually live for, just like.. living. Dont get me wrong they do not reject him, but like... Just what happens? Will Declan just hang around their home? It would be so funny, like a stray cat.
And the other thing I wanted was.... uh.. oh yes! So, I tought that he is like... doesnt make decisions for himslef, just does whatever his heart says. But when his heart is unable to tell him what to do, you said that he will try to act on his own. So like he isnt entirely dependend on his heart. Do I got that right?
(I am just very curious, I hope you dont mind. I just really love the highly devoted, protective and affectionate people in the inside, and very cold and even threatening to the outside. I worded this weird, but I hope you get it. :P)
You got it! Before I said it, yes! A Hallewell's heart is the opposite of who they hunt. That's why they're so perfect in the Hallewell's eyes because if they're born with a need to hunt and kill someone who's say a greedy bastard to the point of no redemption. They'd see their heart, someone who's generous as the model example and perfect, and if you have a lapse in generosity how wonderful that you're making certain to care for yourself! You can do no wrong in your Hallewell's eyes, and yes that can be a slippery slope :D
Also yes, a Hallewell's entire life is dedicated to hunting the evil of humanity until they find their heart, then that life dedication is redirected with the same intensity which is... So much.
If Declan's heart doesn't need anything he's just. He's there. Standing outside the windows looking in during a storm. Just staring like a wet cat begging to be left into the warmth of your home and your embrace. You can need nothing, he'll still find something though even if that just means ensuring nothing touches the life You've built for yourself and offering company however you allow. He's a stray cat, he'll even purr for you if you'd like
And yes! He can make decisions on his own but they're not good ones. If his heart isn't able to guide him, he reverts to his instincts which are very brutal in nature. Animalistic in a way. Protect his heart, keep them safe and fed and warm and should anyone come near, tear them to bloodied piles of viscera. That's the extent of his thinking when in that state.
(I never mind at all! I just can't promise it won't take me a while to get to the answers but it's never a bother I promise!!)

I also hope people don’t think “is this a haurchefucker main blog out of sudden”, he just needed help in the tournament and I happened to be the one willing to unleash my simp cannons for him at this given time. The tournament also inspired me to draw more haurchexarch that I already shipped since last year as a fun sidething. Their chemistry’s just going brrrrr and making me weak.
As for my personal relationship with Haurche as a character, I love him as much as I love Feo Ul, Alisaie and, drumroll, Aymeric. I think a lot about them since they’re all prominent in Fragments, even if they take years to fully blossom. The main plot’s all figured out, I’m just refining it at my leisure and bursting with secrets untold. I might have gone too hard on avoiding any comic spoilers at all though, with how I never drew Aymeric and let him lose that round 1 in favor of Haurche (I voted with my brain, not heart! I thought Haurche’s meme power could carry him further in the poll and, look, it really did), but he’s my fav chew toy. You’re in on a secret now :3c
The two elezen are an extremely popular wolnpc choice, so it shouldn’t even sound that shocking, especially with Vivi and his *waves vaguely* preferred pastime before the ShB events. However, I’m putting a lil spin on the way Vivi interacts with them, that will leave you feeling horrible and hating him and possibly me as well. Or maybe being impressed. Up to you. ShB is his redemption arc, stuff that happened before built him up as a person, and there’s quite a bit to cringe at. I like to say that I’ll always explain why he acts the way he does, but never excuse.
Tumblr media
Okay sorry for all the rambling, my anxious ass just wanted to clarify that, if a character other than cat appears in my art, it’s not random and that I deeply care about them, ‘s all. 🖤

im starting to get sick too😭😭 pollen is kicking my ass right now and its making my allergy to cats and dogs act up too😭 (i may have 2 cats and 6 dogs…whoops)
playing dead by daylight and red dead redemption 2 is the only thing keeping me from completely rotting away rn😭 (plus watching twd)
i really hope you feel better soon!! and i hope you were able to have a good birthday!!!
-📿
Nooo I'm so sorry 😭 pollen is so bad right now too. Take allergy meds and use an air purifier and take care of yourself!! I'm not usually one for cozy games, but I started playing A Little To The Left and it is as infuriating as it is fun lol.
I had a pretty alright birthday. Delayed my celebration a bit until I can enjoy it more (I was so congested I couldn't taste anything) but I am feeling a lot better now. Not quite 100% but far better than just a couple days ago.

A drabble exploring a darker take on Astarion's relationship with a 'Good' party/Tav. Although it could still conceivably work with his redemption arc, this little character study is much more cynical about the idea, so tread with caution if that's not your thing.
---
Astarion had nothing to offer anyone besides his skills in seduction, killing, and deception. That and his pitiful life story.
Ah. So that was what they were after.
He had wondered when they first approached him. Figured his predatory magnetism had let him escape unscathed from assaulting their fearless leader. But when they'd later said they didn't need sex, Astarion couldn't work out what else he could offer a romantic partner.
Now he realized: their kink was being a hero. And what better to make a hero feel like a hero than rehabilitating an abused dog trying to rip their throat out?
They were like those idiotic animal hoarders in Baldur's Gate. The ones who fawned over their pets as if they were gods. Those owners never cared if their army of misanthropic misfits ate a man alive as long as their 'babies' were safe. After all, the fuzzy mongrels were too horribly traumatized by a merciless existence to be held accountable for murder.
Those had been fun trials to oversee as Magistrate.
Astarion was to become this party's stray dog, then. Or cat, perhaps, considering their bleeding heart leader had already adopted a dog and a literal wild monster that ate its own mother.
Their penchant for do-gooding was ridiculous. They tried to fix every problem. Make every friend. It only followed that they would also try to help the pitiful vampire. They would scold him whenever he was cruel, bend their morals to make him laugh, and trip over themselves to be a shoulder for him to cry on about his master. They tried to patch every wound Astarion showed them, deluding themselves that he was an injured lion suffering from a thorn in his paw. Ignoring that a healed lion would only kill them more efficiently.
Sanctimony was just another type of selfishness. Easy to manipulate.
Let them think there was a kind creature buried in him. That he hadn't grown out of regret at 200. Let them conclude that the savage monster he'd become was just an act. Let them look at him with those ridiculous doe eyes, eager to please and know his secrets, begging to make them feel good by showing a scrap of empathy for those who should be his food.
Let them accommodate his every need in an attempt to win him over so that, in the end, he would be the one with the power.
All he had to do was keep them happy. And they would hand him the world.

I see a bunch of people in the MLB salt community saying that chat noir flirting with ladybug even after she said she wasn't interested was an asshole act.
At first I didn't care, I thought to myself "well they have to keep the status quo"
but today I realized that THEY SCREW IT IN PURPOSE-
You might say "Ok aguinha, Chat noir anoying ladybug is bad but how could we resolve this problem?"
To we resolve the problem we gotta know what the problem is-
The problem isn't chat noir anoying ladybug, the problem is the characters don't have motivation- (and of course chat is in the wrong but no one says shit but that's not the point)
Every character has to have a motivation, but what the heck is chat's motivation? Ladybug clerealy said she didn't want nothing to do with him, at the beginning he could persist, but after 4 fucking season? He would give up at some point, but the writers needed from him to keep on going so the status quo would say intact.
But the thing is, there was a way to give motivation to the characters, MIRACULOUS PV
In MLB pv we had Felix instead of Adrien, and Unlike Adrien Felix, he was self-centered and an asswhite that didn't give a fuck to anyone, so how did he fell in love with ladybug? He didn't! With the black cat ring came a curse, every time he transformed he would have extreme bad luck.
And the only thing that could break it was ladybug's kiss. So he had a motivation to keep on going, break the curse.
It's so simple- and makes sense to Felix character, he did this for himself but ended up actually falling in love with ladybug after some time.
And with bridgette? It's even simpler! Bridgette thought Felix was just an idiot, Felix shows that deep down he wasn't just an asswhite, because Bridgette is an amazing person she tries to be friends with him, felix says no, Bridgette determinated to bring the good Felix to the surface keeps on trying, they could even make Bridgette asking Felix to the movies as friends, and after spending some time with Felix she ends up falling in love with him.
It would resolve the problem of both sides saying no but the character keeps on going, would be an interesting love square, and anyone would complain.
But they put it all on the garbage to make Adrien instead.......
Why? Just why? If you wanted Adrien so much, GIVE FELIX A DECENT REDEMPTION ARC, YOU WOULD HAVE BOTH FELIX AND ADRIEN, WOULD MAKE A BEAUTIFUL MESSENGE THAT PEOPLE CAN CHANGE, AND IF YOU THINK WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO TRANSFORM A HORRIBLE PERSON IN A NICE PERSON TAKE THE OWL HOUSE FOR EXEMPLE.
AMITY WAS A DEMON BUT SHE WAS TURNED GOOD, THAT JUST PROVES THAT IT IS POSIBLE AND THAT TRADING FELIX FOR ADRIEN WAS A BAD IDEA, AND THAT THE WRITERS WERE JUST LAZY INSTEAD OF MAKING A REDEMPTION ARC THEY JUST FUCKED UP EVERYTHING.
Ugh...
Tumblr media
I love miraculous PV. Even If I didn't saw it when it was announced, I think it was a good premise, a story full of potencial, beautiful mensagem, and just an amazing anime, and its dar that all that miraculous could have been just got thrown away and replaced with an generic cartoon.
That's all I have to say, I just thought of that and I felt like writing about it, thank you for reeding to the end.

Halo Post-mortem
So... what did I think?
Honestly, I really enjoyed it! I admit that I came in with super low expectations, due to the vaunted Video Game Adaptation Curse, but across the board, the show was way better than I anticipated. The acting was solid, the visuals had care and thought behind them, the effects were good, and the characters were generally engaging (and/or enraging, as it should be).
Obviously, being useless at video games and therefore having absolutely no prior knowledge of the universe meant that I got to skip all the issues with the story and lore and what they chose to change for this "Silver timeline", which made it easier to like. Which led me to a realization...
It dawned on me about halfway through that one of the things I was enjoying about the show was the fact that I had no idea what was going on. Looking around, I realized that it's been literal years since I watched a scifi show where I didn't know the answers. Star Wars? Rey and Din may not know what a Jedi is, but I do. Star Trek? Since DS9 and VOY ended, there have been FOUR shows and/or movie series about the earlier days, and THREE of them feature Kirk and Spock. I was gnawing my laptop in frustration at not knowing who these aliens are or what the artifacts do or what the heck the halo actually is and why we care (note: this is still unanswered) AND IT WAS GREAT. It's a thrill to be piecing things together alongside the characters once again.
And that brings me to the only real complaint I have about the series: the modern mini-season is really too short for these sorts of stories. Everything needed to be shoehorned into essentially 8 episodes (to set up for the finale in 9). None of the characters, plotlines, or the halo mystery itself get to breathe. It's very effectively written to do a great job with the time they have, but everything happens because it has to-- characters can't take time to investigate xyz or try solution abc because the showrunners don't have time to show you that they did. They can't build up emotion or stakes, so they rely on the most efficient writing they can-- which in turn means relying on known tropes and cues to move the action, and the audience, along to their scheduled plot points. And they can't allow you to overlook a clue or piece of worldbuilding, so they can't be subtle.
(This is where the Kwan plot suffers the most, I think-- teenagers are hard to write, going from 'beloved as Luke Skywalker' to 'derided as Wesley Crusher'. Kwan's writing gets the most clichéd treatment and it shows.)
For a show that's trying to tap into a legion of pre-existing fans, it's particularly sad. The selling point of the show is getting to spend a few more hours in the world you love, with characters you love, experiencing it all again, hopefully in a way that is fresh and exciting. For me, it was like getting a tour of a best friend's new place right before going out for the night-- there's so much to stop and appreciate, the couch looks cozy, I want to chat with their roommate and pet their cat, but we only have ten minutes or we'll be late.
And what roommates we have! I'm usually a very character-driven fan, and I really enjoyed a lot of these characters. Kai was hands-down my favorite, and I'm impressed that they made her so compelling to me with so little (comparative) screentime. Her expressive nature breaking out was wonderful to watch. (And nothing bad had better happen to her, ever.) (...Nothing else bad.) Miranda and Laera were standouts to me as well-- Miranda for her sense of ethics and duty, Laera for her independent viewpoint and mysterious vibes.
Makee was well-acted (and well-dressed, my cosplay brain whimpers) and I could listen to her read the phonebook, but characters like her are written into a corner by their very nature. She either has a Redemption Arc, or she doesn't. She either gets to grow and change or stays a villain. Neither option is interesting. It's possible they could still surprise me with her-- I hope they do-- but I doubt it.
Parangosky, Keyes, and Halsey were all fascinating to watch in action; again, very efficient writing to cram in so many competing priorities, authorities, and past alliances. It's also interesting to hear from y'all how much darker they made Halsey. It's clearly a deliberate choice to make her such a bad guy, and I wonder where they're going with it.
My weird niche favorite character... was Halsey's clone, the one who died to make Cortana. Her one conversation with Halsey stole my heart and plot bunnies are breeding in my brain like tribbles.
Cortana herself was fun-- I appreciated her humor and her evolution from oblivious, order-following Siri to full-fledged person with her own opinions and agency. It'll be interesting to watch how being merged with John affects her. (Is it possible to grow her a body of her own? I feel like she'd love one.)
As for the man of the hour, the Master Chief/ John? He grew on me eventually. I've heard that the helmet thing and the brevity of his speech were to make him easier for players to project on to in-game, but it made him a bit bland to me with the compressed writing-- he's A Stoic Hero Guy even after the pellet gets out, if only because he's not allowed a single scene that isn't plot-relevant. (No hair dye for him! He didn't even get to read Makee's book or something.) I think that's why his comeback about overcoming indoctrination-- "I did"-- struck me so hard. It's one of the few bits of his interior life we get. In a week he became a new person, and crucially, saw himself as someone who had done so. That told me more about who he is and what he wants than anything else we got to see. I'm excited to get to know him better as he gets to know himself better.
I'm excited to follow along with them all!
...for however long each of them has left. The future in that trailer did NOT look bright.

fun facts about background cats in the isekei au?
Yippee, thank you for this ask!!! Love talking about these guys >:3c
Batears (She/He/They; Bisexual, leaning towards transfemme)
Doesn’t want kids. I’d initially planned for her to be infertile because, and I can’t remember the details of why, I wanted her to be a red herring in the book the story takes place of her being Frost’s kin (do not ask me to elaborate, I never wrote it down and I still don’t understand what I was thinking).
I’m wavering on the infertile thing for now. I’d rather treat it as just an aspect of her than some grand tragedy but I’d need to do more research.
Both her and Owl were pitted against each other throughout their lives to compete for the role of deputy. She ended up “falling behind” after the death of their father, she was much closer to him and the grief ended up forcing her to take some time to recover.
Big ass ears, her hearing is SHARP.
Her and Frostblaze have a solid mentor-apprentice bond. She’s straightforward and blunt.
The book they come from doesn’t give her much dialogue or appearances (hence her being inspired by the overshadowed sisters in Warriors), and she’s a bit of a wild card to Honey and the gang. She legit doesn’t know what to expect from her.
Loonsnarl (He/It - sexuality and gender undecided but SOMETHING is going on, maybe just apathy?)
Heavily inspired by Goosefeather, I feel that’s obvious lol
I wanted to take the “these events are doomed to happen” to the extreme with this guy. He is very much “this must happen and if it doesn’t, I will make it happen”.
He does everything with confidence, he says things with confidence, he acts as if everything will come to fruition. There is no room for wavering in the future, the path is decided and they must follow it through.
Splashpaw initially adopted this mentality after her first trip to the Mooncave…until something changed in her. Loonsnarl doesn’t always get along with his apprentice.
Hornettail (He/Him - Cishet
His main inspiration is Darkstripe and characters that will literally switch from being open minded to being wildly xenophobic from book to book.
The actual book they come from has it that it’s just bad writing. When Honey meets him, he’s just someone who will cling to whoever has the most power in the situation
The moment the pendulum swings out of his favor, he’s chasing after it no matter how pathetic he looks
Dawnstep (She/He - Lesbian)
Funny gal with a sick beard
Big bard energy, she loves singing and teaches the apprentice the best war songs (Honey finds the melodies catchy but the lyrics uh…gruesome)
In a butch4butch relationship with a SturgeonClan cat named Troutshine. (Side note, I think it would be funny if the territory was an ecological mess. Animals of all kinds just thrown in without care lol)
Fanon Lionheart is a big inspo for him
Sheeppaw and Elkpaw (she/her and he/him respectively, nothing decided yet but I like Elkpaw being transmasc)
Honeypaw’s lackies. She promised power and prestige when she ascended to leader and, as the more physically powerful sister, it was expected she’d be able to deliver on her word.
The two are insecure kids who were friends in the nursery, while it doesn’t excuse their bullying at all, they’re hardly evil masterminds.
In the book, they get a redemption arc and apologize to Frostblaze. In this story, I imagine it happens a lot faster when Honeypaw starts acting weird and avoiding them.
Childhood friends to lovers, I think it’s cute :)
Hollystream (she/her)
Duskflower’s sister, she was the one to step in and help raise Frostblaze when she died.
Her death still hurts her, the two were twins and very close.
While Beesnap definitely pushed for her daughter to see Frost as a rival and not a sister, Holly did the same. She also pushed Frost to go for the crown and in doing so, the two queens ending up destroying the potential friendship the sisters might’ve had.
Holly is quiet, subdued. However, she loves her goofy mate Mousesneeze and their antics, being with them has helped her recover in many ways.
I’ll probably make another edition in a bit but these are sort of the handful of cats I’ve got some concrete plans for. The latter half of the warriors in WolfClan need some fleshing out since admittedly some of them are just to pad out the Clan.
Thank you for the ask!!!!
