My favorite thing from the more recent batch of TLOVM episodes is finally getting to see some of that more genuine, sweeter friendship moments between Scanlan and Grog, moments that show that they're actually friends who love each other. Just, I was a bit worried cause this Grog and Scanlan, while pals, didn't seem nearly as close and we hadn't gotten any of their more genuine moments, so I was really happy.

the little one has plenty of experience running people around and hiding herself in places bc shes tiny, and i think the disguise mechanic + the illusory beacons are like 100% her style so lmao. the elder one....... well, she's considered an apex predator in the abyss foodchain when she's actually out hunting for things, so lmao yes a good hunter indeed

Levithan (He/Him): Demonic Overlord, Son of Lucifer, Sin of Envy. You'd expect a guy with that description to be pretty full of himself, but instead he seems pretty tired and over-worked. He's been tasked by Lucifer to infiltrate H.E.L.L. alongside you- why? It's anyone's guess at this point. (Possible Tropes: bickering couple, tired x energetic, tol x smol)

Yavhi Gupta (They/Them): Stubborn, rude and cold-hearted. They've been working for H.E.L.L. since they were able to join, and they're one of the toughest, roughest demon hunters around. They don't joke or play around, they go straight for the kill each time. Unlucky for you then, that you've been assigned to train underneath them for the foreseeable future. (Possible Tropes: enemies to lovers, opposites attract, black cat x golden retriever)

Raquel (She/Her): Fierce, witty and loyal to the end. When her best friend left Heaven, she followed right after. Now, she works as a detective alongside him and they've been hired by an outside source to investigate The Morningstar's Children, as H.E.L.L. can't seem to do anything right, and she'll do anything to find out the truth; even if it means teaming up with a lowborn like you. (Possible Tropes: fwbs to lovers, smart x dumbass)

Gabriel (He/Him): Quiet, yet lethal and dangerous. He left Heaven for a reason, but now works alongside his friend as a detective. He's the brawn of the operation, but just as willing to do anything to get the truth... even if you get the feeling he knows more than it seems. (Male MCs only. Possible Tropes: Mutual pining, star-crossed lovers, quiet x loud)

Lucifer Morningstar (She/They): As the Sin of Greed, she's the father (mother?) of all the other deadly sins, and the current President of Hell- though with reelections soon, and her subjects looking in their son's, Satan's, favor, that might change soon. Which is why they sent you on the quest to take down H.E.L.L., so her rep would get a serious boost. She's conniving, scheming and pantsuit wearing, and will stop at nothing to keep her spot on top. (And I love her.)

Michael (They/Them): The most powerful Archangel of them all, it was obvious that one day, they'd become the humans savior, their saving grace.. uh, not really, but they love the praise. Recently however they've been under fire from the human media after a slip-up resulted in the deaths of six people, but they managed to save grace by capturing and promptly executing a few lowborns connected to The Morningstar's Children. (Which, In Raquel's professional opinion, puts them right at the top of her list of suspects.)

Shae (She/Her): A vampire and the one who hired Raquel and Gabriel after the kidnapping of her son Damien at the hands of The Morningstar's Children.

so instead ill just, idk summarize their relationship and then give some fun facts abt them

Sunny and Basil are best friends! They're shown to be very close to each other, closer than they are to the rest of their friends. They rely on each other to listen when they need to vent, and like to read books together! Before the events of the game, Sunny and Basil become involved in an incident that basically tears their friend group apart. Basil keeps the secret of their involvement from everyone because he cares too much about Sunny to let him get in trouble. They then don't talk for four years, and spend the entire time pining for each other!

Basil hopes for four years that Sunny will finally come back to him, meanwhile Sunny has retreated into a perfect dreamworld he uses to cope. All of his friends are there, and everyone is happy, and the dreamworld is full of things Basil loves. The most common food item is tofu(Basil's favorite food),  there's an entire race of plant creatures that adore tofu(Basil likes to garden + his favorite food), his garden in the dreamworld is huge and has lots of flowers that represent each of his friends! Also, an important NPC says this abt Sunny and Basil's relationship: "He is special to you. A string of fate ties you together." A string of fate you say? Hmmm, I wonder why they phrased it like that...

Also, when Sunny and Basil finally do start talking again, Basil says stuff like this: "W...Wait... P-Please, SUNNY... Don't leave me... Not again..." "After all this time... you've finally come back for me. But... tomorrow... you're going away. H-HOW COULD YOU DO THAT!?!? That's mean, SUNNY. That's so mean!" Yeah... he's not doing too well...

But don't worry! After a year or two of therapy I'm sure these two can have a happy, healthy relationship!

Obviously I have a lot more to say abt them but it's all literary analysis and context clues and stuff, I just wanted to point out the more obvious stuff!

Halo: Reach - Winter Contingency cutscene, finding Sára Sorvad

Since it goes kinda fast and has that sorta shaky cam thing going on, here are some screencaps of moments I didn’t immediately notice:

Jorge and Sára definitely have the tol and smol thing going on, my gracious! 😍

When the Elite swings his energy sword at them, Jorge turns and takes the hit on his back, then goes down, shielding her with his body.

As the Elite goes after Kat, Carter and Six, Carter pushes Kat out of the way (while Six lights the Elite up liek woah). Is this a good time to add that shielding the other with their body is one of my favorite tropes??? 😍 *waves tiny but mighty Carter/Kat shipper flag*

The Elite jumps Six and, in grim foreshadowing, tries to stab her with the energy sword. She gets a hold of his arm and prevents the blow, then shows him how well Spartans throw haymakers.

*BIG SMILE* 😬😂

This scene always goes so fast that, for the longest time I thought that Kat was who kicked the gun back to Six but it’s Carter. Kat is over a few steps lighting the Elite’s armor up. Also in the background, Jorge is still covering Sára. 💖

This part always bothers me because they just stand there and let that Elite drag the marine away! In that last shot, he’s trying desperately to hang onto the door, ZOMG, and we do nothing! 😭 I mean, maybe they didn’t think they had a shot and could’ve hit him instead (the Elite is holding him up as cover) but still! We just... watch him get dragged away, screaming for help. 😭

Anyway, this next one had to be a GIF, because reasons. 😇

Are you named after anyone? Two people! My Uncle Stephen and my Nana (maternal grandmother). My brother was named after my dad's high school best friends

When was the last time you cried? I think the last time was a couple weeks ago watching anime. I love a good cry, I've embraced that that's how I express a lot of emotions

Do you have kids? Nope! I'd like to someday, but all in due time.

What sports do you play/have you played? I'm not a team sports kind of girl anymore, but I played soccer as a kid and really enjoyed that.

Do you use sarcasm? Usually only obvious sarcasm. Bevin and I will often use excessively obvious sarcasm with each other to express love. A little linguistic game we play with each other. We never enjoy spending hours and hours on the phone together. So unlike us! Where would you get that idea?

What is the first thing you notice about people? First thing? I feel like my anxiety is charge of that: looking out for how friendly they seem, what they laugh at (if they do), how approachable they might be. I had pretty bad social anxiety disorder from like 14 - 22ish and human beings tend to do the social thing once or twice.

What is your eye color? Hazel! Looks brown but up close you can see there's a lot of green around my pupils, too.

Scary movies or happy endings? My media diet is heavily skewed towards happy endings but every now and then, nothing satisfies like a good tragedy.

Any talents? People know I like the writing thing! I'm also learning to draw now and picking up guitar again for the first time since before uni!

Where were you born? A hospital about... 30 - 40 minutes away from me? I don't live in that city anymore, and haven't since I was 3, but we stayed in the same general province!

What are your hobbies? Writing, drawing, guitar, going for bike rides or walks. Geeking out by myself or with friends! I'm also starting to learn some German and pick up a few more cooking skills.

Do you have any pets? Nah, wish I did. My living situation doesn't allow for it. But my dad has a dog who I love so much and get to visit! And my sister has two cats who used to live with us that are excellent cuddlers.

How tall are you? Uhhhhh I think 5'11? To use ancient Tumblr Lingo: Tol, not smol

Favorite subject in school? In Elementary - Middle School, it was English, because reading and writing. In high school, Psychology, Legal Studies, Guitars, History, or Writer's Craft

Dream job? Cool question, I'mma over-complicate it! For my career, it's either one of two things: Creative and/or helping people. Add another axis onto that: Stability vs. freedom. I like stability. It helps me feel happy and builds self-esteem to build stuff up. So since most of the creative jobs I'd be down to try have a lack of stability (and often crappy working conditions), I decided to start with stability and helping people! My current job is actually the goal I set for myself to get into in 5 - 10 years. So. Whoops! Got in early! I can't stay beyond this year (covering a mat leave) but wow has it been good experience. And it's cool shit that I like to think supports people in building something good for themselves.

Not a ton of creativity though, and so what's cool about life is that the time horizon isn't just right now, forever. The job I'm in now is a dream job of mine based on the criteria I set out (stable, treats me right, and helps people), but I have other dream jobs I'd like to also try out!

For example: I'd like to become a published author! And I'd also like to learn storyboarding to maybe try being a storyboards artist someday, or some job in animation.

What I like about the job I have now, too, is that I still have enough energy in and around my job to have a life outside of it. So I can build the creative skills that'll lead to cool stuff and opportunities down the line.

Having multiple dream jobs I think is realistic. And just kinda fun to not only achieve one thing, but look forward to what else I can do!

mitsui + his gang, a brief analysis

one of the many things i realised in mitsui's introduction arc is that he's not a fighter. while mitsui might have walked around kanagawa pretending to be one, one wonders if he just happened to pick on people/other delinquents weaker than him, or if tetsuo and the other guys protected him from the tougher gangs.

i mean, yohei absolutely trashed mitsui, and he's easily half a head shorter than him:

((the second implication here should also be that yohei is a truly phenomenal fighter who just chooses to hold back))

it only makes things even more bittersweet when mitsui shows up trying to protect tetsuo from being beaten up by a rival biker gang, because the latter (along with hotta, etc) was mitsui's sole pillar of support in the two years he spent adrift after he left the basketball team.

this is why mitsui and his gang is one of my favourite parts of slam dunk. i mean, showing up with a huge flag that says 炎の男 三っちゃん is some real homie shit. mitsui might have fell into a dark spot, but the guys that were with him at his lowest also saw him shine at his brightest.

1) Winnix - supposedly the only normal ones during game night. They are here to hang out and relax. Nix even makes special cocktails for everyone! no sense of competition at all. Except Dick gets REALLY INTO charades and Nix can't guess any of his words because he's too busy laughing at the faces he pulls. then has to spend the rest of the night trying to get Dick to stop pouting over one lost game.

2) Luztoye - George is weirdly good at board games too, if it's something like Clue or Monopoly where there are negotiations and stuff. Toye's really good at rolling dice for some reason, so they're a formidable team.

3) Baberoe - I just think they're the kind of couple that has each other blow on the die for "good luck." Which makes their bad throws a thousand times funnier. And they have a ton of bad throws. Cringefail couple who's just happy to be there.

4) Speirton - oh they go hard. And not just in normal games but like. In Werewolf or in Coup? hell, it might even spill in RPG tabletop games like. these two go fucking hard. it's them against the world until suddenly the world is just the two of them, and then it's a battle to the death. when it comes to that, usually everybody else at game night is passed out and snoring while they're still trying to outsmart each other.

5) Webgott - kings of trivia. they suck at any other kinda game, but you want them on your side during trivia night. web knows all the academic stuff, and joe nails the general knowledge category like NOBODY'S business. they are both chronically online and therefore know a worrying amount of internet wank enough to win. every. damn. time. it's gone to a point where they have to be separated into different groups. it's that bad.

6) Harry/Kitty - I always said that I headcanon Kitty as a very grumpy tol to Harry's sunshine smol, and grumpy tol Kitty does NOT want to be here, no sir. She is ridiculously good at card games, however, because she is RUTHLESS and will not let anything go even for an alliance so Harry brings her along bc her win is a win for both of them.

Shoyou’s actual twin with Kenma’s eye color. Smart but chaotic, like really chaotic. Smol. Best friend’s with Akio and Keisuke. He and Toshiyo are good friends too, if he feels too much like a third wheel around Akio and Keisuke he’ll drag Toshiyo into the mix whenever he can. Has a little sister named Kotori. They are bubbly and he and his sister are the light of their parents' eyes. As oblivious as his parents can be about romance, he inherited the same trait and he doesn’t know Ushijimaten is crushing on him hard. The only rebellious thing he ever did in his life was randomly get his ears pierced with his three best friends to which it was Akio’s idea. Loves gaming but isn’t as good as Kenma lol but his imagination is as active as both his parents. Games with Ten too who is way better than him for no good reason. Is smart but Akio often has to remind him to use his brain.

Kuroo Akio

Tol emo angel that’s usually the smartest person in the room but lowkey, lowkey has a temper. Has Kei’s features like hair and eye color but a mix of his parent’s looks. Wears glasses but always forgets them, only remembers to bring them if Sora or his parents mention it but most of the time barely listens to his parents. Has strong feelings for Keisuke he just hasn’t decided if they’re positive or negative yet tho they’re bros.

Kageyama Toshiyo

Shy and reserved, between Sora and Akio’s heights. Dark hair like Kageyama and eyes like Tadashi and freckles. Friends with Sora only so he claims. Has 99 problems and Haru is like 75% of them.

Bokuto Keisuke

Newly 16 tho lol. Has Kou’s wild dual colored hair and Keiji’s eyes. Akio is his best bro and he’s really close with Sora too. He and Akio dance around eachother as Sora puts it. Has messy hair to his shoulders and refuses to get a haircut. Heart of gold, head empty tho. Drags Akio into social situations, likes gaming as much as Sora.

Sawamura Himawari

Has Suga’s soft features and hair color but Daichi’s eyes. Manages karasuno's boys volleyball team. She’s tired of the boys wanting more girl friends. Her and her siblings are her parents’ world. Has a crush on Akio’s sister she thinks no one knows about.

Ushijima Ten

Looks a lot like Ushijima but can have Tendou’s wild side when it comes to Sora. Has a smol crush on him everyone but him knows about. Is naturally good at anything he tries and shows Sora how to game better. Shinji’s his best friend that encouraged him to spend more time with his crush through online gaming.

Iwaizumi Haru

Looks like Oikawa but has dark hair like Iwa, has a tol crush on Toshiyo. Has dual extroverted personalities that neither of his parents can quite attribute to themselves exactly.

Shirabu Shinji

Looks a lot like Semi with his features but is a prodigy but lazy. He can be as sassy as Shirabu on the rare occasions he’s pissed off tho. Ten is the only person he knows that he hasn’t clashed with at one point probably also because Ten is rarely if ever bothered enough to care. Clashes with Haru whenever they are in close proximity of each other. Also has a problem with Miya Yukio but doesn’t know it’s just because he’s crushing on him. Can always tell the difference between him and his twin and the fake triplet cousin.

Sakusa Ame

Calm Ambivert who is mostly unaffected by the thought of germs but feels closer to his uncles and cousins than his sibling and parents because he feels he saw them less growing up. Looks more like Atsumu and can get mistaken as a triplet to his twin cousins. Good friends with Sora and Keisuke.
