This tiny slime had followed him around the forest while he was patrolling. It would chase him everywhere, how could he ignore it, it was so cute.

Ah… you found out he adopted a slime. He didn’t mind the slime, he thought it was cute. He had showed you it and it made you happy. It actually made him happy that you liked it, it was like both of you had a child together.

When he thought of it like that, it made him blush. It didn’t help that you would baby it, which in return made him baby it. It didn’t help that the small slime was clingy towards both of you.

He’d pick it and cradle it, feeding the small slime snacks, during dinner time, he’d feed it food from its own plate, like a baby.

As for my more in depth thoughts about Clayman's Revenge as a whole (as of chapter 18), putting below the cut due to including Tensura Light Novel spoilers (I'm not sure through which volume, I read through 20).

It is super fascinating to have two time looping people meet like this. It makes a lot of sense that the Hero (Chloe/Chronoa/Hinata at this point in time) is disturbed by something going differently - in this case, Orbic not being destroyed.

As a Clayman fan it does make me furious that her reaction is "oh? he saved the orcs? better go kick his ass-" fkjdsahf I do understand her concern though. We know as readers that the Orc Lord is a huge stepping stone for Rimuru, and without it, I wonder if he'll manage to get strong at all. I don't know that the Hero is aware of this though? Hinata might know about it but Chloe certainly does not. But Hinata wouldn't know the details I would imagine. In any case, it is definitely something the Hero would want to keep her eye on.

Interestingly Clayman doesn't know who she is. I think that's pretty telling - either he's not paying enough attention or she hasn't become known yet where we are in the timeline.

It's also wild that Clayman just tells her the truth. His reasoning is sound and he's in a tough spot. It works better than he knows it does, I bet, since she knows that's true. If he's paying attention, he should realize she knows about "the slime" too, and that should be quite sus to him. I'm not sure if he'll realize it though fkjdshfakja I know she threatened him to keep quiet but I do hope he tells Laplace at least. It would be good for his family to be aware of this.

He must have been so frightened afterwards though. He was toyed with and he knows it, and he thinks everyone was killed...but they're fine. Phew.

Let's talk about Ant! (it/it's pronouns yoooo)

I included this panel because it actually highlights 2 fascinating things - one, Ant is STRONG and 2 it's clear Ant can understand what's being said and feel complex emotions in response. Ant doesn't like how Yamza talks about it, so Ant kicks his ass. Clayman meanwhile is like hehe my Ant is cute and this is not a problem that it's beating Yamza up

Particularly from later LN, we know that insectors are strong. I do wonder if Clayman could even name Ant without dying. An Orc is one thing. An Ant? An Insector? That's another entirely. Especially since it's already so strong.

I don't really have a point here but the Ant alone has a lot of potential to change things.

Not to mention, chapter 17 as well, Raine has now been basically told to go watch/work under Clayman. I'm very curious to see how that plays out. He did kind of tell her to fuck off in 16 (I need to reread it esp now that we have official translation). She will be such a troublesome subordinate for him if she does end up working under him!

AND we love to see the Milim friendship - I'm hoping that even if Clayman does get Kondo'd (bitch) that Milim will see it and rescue him.

My last thought here is...how will Clayman awaken? It seems to be a key thing we're building towards so I suspect it will happen. But how, without character development integrity loss? He understands that souls are involved now. And that seems to be the only way, really. But it would be counter to his development so far to arrange a war and such...but Fuze is quite good at coming up with situations that result in awakenings without being a terrible person or as a result of being forced to defend oneself. Maybe someone will attack Clayman with an army and he'll have to defend. I don't think it will come only at the end of the manga though - I think he'll awaken before then and we'll get to see things shift with the other Demon Lords, and see him continue to get stronger.

Anyway, those are my thoughts at the moment!!! Feel free to share yours (politely and respectfully, no Clayman hate please) as well!

Ok so finally got around to watching Re:Monster after my boy begged me to get on it and I’m glad I did. Definitely has shades of Tensura and undead unwanted adventurer but still managed to feel very fresh in these first two episodes. I’d say watching the first two back to back is really nice because they feel like one mini prologue arc getting wrapped and the true story beginning.

Gobrou’s journey from a newborn goblin to an ogre feels satisfying and I enjoyed the group dynamics with him rising to a leadership position in the village. Not to mention the military training aspect, preparing the other goblins for combat and totally changing the culture around the goblins, like with eating and sexually abusing human women

Speaking of human women, bro already has an interspecies harem going on lol. I’m interested in where this’ll go and just how strong Gobrou will get. I’d imagine at some point, he’ll have to branch out and form relations with the human villages around ala tensura which will be fun to see.

Animation isn’t the strongest, but the fights are surprisingly well done. Supporting characters are good and just an overall good time for now 👌

Usually, when this happens, Rimuru leaves you to your own devices until you come back and either he apologizes for his behavior if he is in the wrong or if you apologize because you are in the wrong.

But this time it felt different; it felt as if you were in danger.

And his gut instinct was right. Rimuru heard a loud scream coming from north of him, a scream that sounded like yours.

He immediately ran to where he heard the scream and witnessed a sight he never wanted to see again.

You were in the arms of a huge monster, ready to eat you whole. Tears were in your eyes, and fear struck your heart. Instantly, Rimuru took his sword out and analyzed the situation.

When he was done, he went into action, jumping from the ground and angling his sword into the arm of the monster, releasing you from its hand.

You dropped to the ground and watched as Rimuru defeated the monster with ease, and saw it run away, wounded and bleeding. Rimuru dropped down to the ground and was at your sides in seconds, looking over your body for any injuries.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?" he would say frantically, eyes wide and fearful for you. You would hug him and apologize for the fight earlier. You would kiss him and hug him and shed a few tears.

He would hug you tightly back, and whisper to you, "let's never fight again, okay?"

Anyway leatia sorry for the delay. I had like five paragraphs written when Tumblr decided to crash and eat my draft. Anyway, this ask is in reference to this post.

1–do I daydream or just go for it? Both! Either/Or! Depends on the fic. Some of them I write to fulfill a prompt. Others circulate in my brain and live there for weeks, pestering me til I write them. Some are born because I’m suddenly struck with inspiration by something. Sometimes I see someone else execute a great idea poorly. Sometimes I get into a new fandom and think “I wanna play here too!” Who knows what’ll trigger the next one? So both! Always both! And more!

4–how do I choose what to write? I don’t! :) I write whatever comes to mind. I’m an enabler at heart even though I try not to be sometimes, and this includes myself. Besides, if I don’t let my creativity and imagination drive the car, they’ll hit me over the head, toss me in the back and drive anyway! And if it’s the choice between two or more ideas, we (me, myself, and I) just write them all! Why choose when you don’t have to? After all, I’m ultimately a chaotic bitch and I dabble a lot anyway.

5– how many wips do I have? Don’t put me on blast like this 🙈 I’m a messy bitch. I have four right now for AFO/Reader, only one of which is posted on site. I have three others on that account, a Tensura one (Rimuru x OC), and some Pokémon Isekai. I have around 20-30 collectively across my other accounts , with some that are abandoned and some just on indefinite hiatus. I won’t spill those though because I’m actually pretty well known in certain fandoms under those names and I went incognito to get away from the pressure. 😂 I have anywhere from 30-50 wips that have never seen the light of day and some never will. These, like the ones posted to my other accounts, are across various fandoms. Like upwards of anywhere between 15-30 fandoms. Can’t list em all.

8–out of context wip huh? You sneaky, cheeky penguin. Fine. But it’ll be safe for church! Mostly. Cause some churches don’t like us non-binary folks existing. But there’s nothing uhhh spicy. It’s actually wholesome, cause I’m capable of both damnit!

You can’t tell whether hearing your voice at all or hearing it in child form startles him more. His head whips around until his red eyes land on your minuscule form. To think those good for nothing Heroes left him wandering alone, barefoot, afraid, and soaked in blood for five whole days. He’d been starving and dehydrated by that point, and in all likelihood would have died from the latter if not for the fact that it rained halfway through his time on the street, soaking him to the bone. You can just imagine him stumbling down a busy city street, cold, shivering, and ignored. It infuriates you to this day to know no one helped him until you and All For One came along.

“The fuck? Ren, why are you a brat?”

“Why does it matter? Aren’t you happy to see me, sweetling?”

He scoffs at the endearment, but wanders over anyway. A blush decorates his cheeks. At sixteen, he happens to be one of those teens who gets embarrassed when his parents act overly affectionate in front of others, including his own siblings and Kurogiri. It was adorable. The frantic scratching at his neck isn’t though.

“Of course I’m happy to see you, Ren. Just—what are you doing here, and why do you look like a rugrat?”

*note that Ren is the neutral equivalent of Mom or Dad and not a name. Which means Tomura just called you/Reader the equivalent of Mom or Dad.

You reach a hand out to ruffle his hair, an action which feels unspeakably odd when in your six year old body. He scowls and ducks away with a groan, but you don’t care. You lean out as far as you can to wrap an arm around his shoulders and press your cheeks together. Aina adjusts for the shift in weight so she doesn’t just drop you outright. Bless her for her thoughtfulness since you may have forgotten a silly little thing like gravity in your haste to embrace your youngest.

“Ren, please. I’m too old for this!”

“You’re never too old for my love, sweetie!~”

Aina trembles with silent laughter, somehow not making a sound. Glancing at Kurogiri, he too appears to be holding back laughter, though it’s harder to tell with his unique facial makeup (or lack thereof) masking his expressions. Tomura grumbles while still allowing the contact. He’s learned by now that no amount of embarrassed protests will stop either you or All For One from showing him affection. Eventually, his curiosity wins out over his desire to pout, and he asks the million yen question.

“So what sort of crime did you commit?”

I Am (not so) Atomic

Last year, i was blessed with a brand new anime obsession: The Eminence in Shadow. It’s a wildly derivative take on the Isekai genre but i can’t help but love this show, man. It slides right into the same vein as Tensura and Overlord, specifically the latter, and considering those two shows have climbed into the upper echelons of my all-time list, Shadow was basically tailored made for me. Truthfully, i had been on the Cid Kageno bandwagon for some time. I remember picking up this manga years ago and falling in love with it by the fourth chapter bu i was the anime that sealed my adoration. This thing was fantastic. The action was kinetic, the animation fluid, and the character work executed perfectly. I was a bit bummed when the show ended. I wanted more Shadow content and i wanted it now! So color me surprised when i found out that there is a gacha game based on the franchise. A gacha game that is canon to the narrative which covered the seven year time skip and reveals the origins of Shadow Garden, itself. Shut up and take my money!

The Eminence in Shadow: Master of Garden is a gacha game akin to something like Bleach: Brave Souls. Or, rather, it feels a lot like that. It’s kind of an autoplay scenario. You set your party before each match and just press play. Battles are on kind of an ATB system where your characters act according to a set algorithm. They periodically perform special moves, combos that buff your party, and executed cinematic super moves once a bar fills up. In that respect, it’s not so much a game than it is a form of tower defense. I mean, i have vague memories of Valkyrie Profile and Resonance of Fate playing similar to this but it’s been years since I've touched one of those games so i might just be imagining it. Still, the actual gamely leaves a lot to be desired, because of course it would, it’s a gacha game, bu Master of Garden makes up for that with slick, 3D, animations and pretty solid models. I was surprised by how polished the varying designs of the main characters. More than that, it’s the customization which really gets you.

he actual gameplay is forgettable to say he leas but the prep for those auto-battles? That is where he fun lies. There is some real depth in terms of building your team here and i am here for all of that. First, there is an elemental system in place. Red, blue, green, etc. Red beats green, blue beats red, if you’ve played an RPG,ever, you get it. Each character gets assigned a color so here’s that. They also have certain jobs or classes, Tank and Healer being the most prominent. If you don’t have a tank or healer in your party, you’re gonna f*cking lose. Beyond that, you can level up each pf your characters through battles where you gain experience, or items you collect after battles. You can also equip your characters with generic weapons and armor which is tied to a ranking system that further increases your strength. You can also equip Magic Gear, which further enhancing your strength, each of which, themselves, can be modify and leveled up. It’s pretty deep for what effectively is a money pit, waifu simulator, which brings me to the biggest bummer about his entire game: he gacha.

Master of Garden has one of the most unforgiving gacha systems i have ever experienced in a mobile game to date. It is rough out here, yo! Obviously, the goal is to roll as many SSR level characters as possible and that seems impossible. I’ve hit these banners several times with the ten times roll and i popped one SSR. One. And it was a f*cking tank. Those cats attack for sh*t. Both of SSRs are tanks, one of which is just a progress reward. But you can get a guaranteed SSR if you pay for it and they make that abundantly clear. They literally have special rolls for paid Gems, only. This is an every day thing. It took Fate/Grand Order, the most predatory f*cking gacha out there, years before they installed something like that. Master of Garden? Day one. Seriously, i can roll a guaranteed SSR for twenty-eight hundred paid Gems, which is basically fifty dollars because the thirty dollar option gives you twenty-four hundred. It’s f*cking insane. And the Pity System is pathetic. You have to collect, like, shards or something until you get enough to buy the character instead of just, you know, giving it to you after so many rolls. In doing so, you need o spend more of your Gems, which leads to a higher chance of you buying more gems, just to pop he Pity. It’s disgusting.

Overall, i can’t recommend this “game”. It appeals to the Virgo in me with all of he customization but i can’t, in good conscious, tell you to play knowing how unforgiving that gacha is. That sh*t sucks because the narrative during the time skip is pretty f*cking solid. It’s well acted and you get a ton of proper character moments that were missing in the show. I’m sure a Wikia somewhere has compiled all f those beats but experiencing it as it should be, on your [hone or PC, with the detailed graphics and proper voice acting, is an entirely different experience. If you’re a fan, give it a shot, i guess? I mean, i did, but it’ wildly disappointing, especially when you get that progress wall because it’ll come fast. I’ve been playing this thing for three days and I'm already at an impasse, mostly because anything under an S rank is bunk once you progress to the third chapter of the main campaign. Guess where I'm at now? Fun times, that. At least i got a Delta. She’s my favorite and just as adorable in this game as she is in the show.

Fall 2022 Anime Reviews/Ratings

Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War It's been a good while since I've enjoyed and anime this much. Bleach was one of if not, the first anime I ever watched and I could not be more stoked to have been able to watch its continuation now, 10 years later. This was actually a bit of a surprise. The first half honestly felt like an artists serious depiction of a historical drama and the music absolutely set the tone throughout the whole half. The themes were on point, the art style was out of this world and it definitely hit hard. The second half has was much more classic bleach and easily brought up the mood but also had a solid balance of important story arcs that really filled in some pieces of the world that I didn't know I needed. I loved every second of this season and this is the kind of quality this show deserves. 10/10 - Masterpiece

Chainsaw-man This was a manga that I personally didn't enjoy, just wasn't for me, but damn the anime is solid. While I still didn't feel too attached to the characters, I thoroughly enjoyed the way they did the story. The animations were god honest next level. I can't imagine anything past the quality we have in this series and man I wish MAPPA applied this much tlc to other series like JJK. (Maybe season 2 🤞) Overall a solid action, sci-fi? punk?? series. 9/10 - Great

Blue Lock - (Still airing - 12/24) Another highly-anticipated series. I only recently picked up this manga and low-key it sucked that the english releases were so far behind. Volume 3 released after the anime already aired the same content. Besides that, this series is an absolutely amazing sports series. It hits all the checkboxes for a standard quirk-based sports show but also outdoes it with stellar animations. I love the style so much and I'm looking forward to what other series this studio picks up. (Same studio that did Tensura) 9/10 - Great My Hero Academia - Season 6 (Still airing - 13/25) This season is honestly what I've been waiting for. I feel that each season has it's peaks, but we're definitely hitting the climax of the story here and I'm loving it. The series has really come into it's own and has some serioulsly solid action and super-hero sequences. I genuinely enjoyed this season the most out of the series and high hopes for the future of this show. 9/10 - Great

Spy x Family - Cour 2 I have been waiting for the tennis arc to be animated. My god, I love this show. It really just hits everything I need from a shonen series and makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Never a moment without entertainment and I just love the characters so much. 9/10 - Great The Eminence in Shadow (Still airing - 12/20) I was genuinely surprised by this show. Its concept isn't anything crazy but I feel the writing is really well paced and is just generally very entertaining to watch. 8/10 - Very Good

Bocchi The Rock This is definitely the slice of life of the season. I had a lot of fun with the characters in this show and low-key related to a lot of the awkwardness bocchi emanates. I felt it was just overall such a simple and wholesome series. A good one to watch for fun. 8/10 - Very Good Mob Psycho III I'm a huge fan of ONE's works. One punch is easily one of my top 5 series. While I really enjoyed the first two seasons of mob, I found I just wasn't as into this season. The first half was slow and really didn't feel special. The second half, while it was awesome to see and is definitely amazing, there was really just nothing of note to spark it. Like this all happened in one episode. In the end, the animations and story are still far better than many shows out there is definitely worth watching. 8/10 - Very Good I'm the Villainess, so I'm Taming the Last Boss I actually loved this one. It took a trope that's typically seen in fantasy novels and turned it into an anime. I really like the different stories and arcs that took place in the series and I ended up getting quite attached to all the characters. 8/10 - Very Good To Your Eternity Season 2 (Still airing - 10/20) I've heard a lot that this series really falls off the further you get into it. While I do agree that it's nowhere near as good as the first half of season 1, I still really enjoy the progression of time and Fushi's evolution. I think the story so far is interesting enough to continue watching but definitely less hook than the original concept. 7/10 - Good More than a Married Couple, but not Lovers This series was a lot of fun. I think it walked a really fine line between the right amount of ecchi/spice and wholesome. Again with this one, I really like the different scenarios the characters were put in and while I did enjoy the series, it still felt like it lacked something for me. Either way, definitely a fun little non-standard romance series. 7/10 - Good The Bibliophile Princess I didn't think that I was going to keep watching this show after the first few episodes tbh, but i'm glad I did. I felt that it was a really nice genuine romance that addressed a lot of things in their world. They just did the genre well and I enjoyed the series. 7/10 - Good

Reincarnated as a Sword I know the LN readers have been waiting for this one. I think what i've found recently is that I really enjoy the concept behind these kinds of isekais but I've been preferring to read them rather than watch it. The series kinda felt mid. I did like the characters and the stories but didn't feel like anything special. I'm sure the actual novel is probably more entertaining and worth a read. 6/10 - Fine

I saw one of your Tensura headcanons from your post, so for a headcanon monster: how about slimes? Or maybe you could do a (personal) headcanon of Rimuru Tempest?

Can you be more specific? Or do you just want hc about slimes in general?

Because in general, i feel like they're kinda like what would happen if a slime mold decided to be a glob instead of spreading out. As such, sentience in the same way we view it is rare--though it canonically happens enough that no one is.. well they ARE surprised, but mostly that one did something with it other than going "i will now eat everything". Because when your whole body is technically your brain while also being your stomach, you have some limited options on what you think about at lower power levels. Which is partially why Rimuru is kind of scoffed at. At best, absolute best, a sentient slime would probably consume, divide, repeat, until eaten by something else. They're considered a food in some cases by other monsters-- so a slime being in charge is wild. It'd be like if you had a marimo ball as mayor, as far as most people are concerned.

That said, slimes are probably just as unknowable odd as molds and fungi irl. So, given enough time and magicules, you could probably get one able to communicate with other monsters or humans [if panic doesn't happen], and eventually it wouldn't surprise me if one kinda like rimuru happened. Not the power level, naturally, but one that's had nothing to do but soak up magicules and grow? Just building a super dense body that sparks a Thought? Totally possible. And assuming it doesn't go mad with realization of the fact it's now sentient and alone, i could see it having similar issues being taken seriously. Which is interesting because i imagine Tempest would be the only place, initially, where they'd be able to live. Because its possible Rimuru could have just been a naturally sentient slime that spawned from Valdora's magicules and slowly developed a personality. But because his reincarnation thing plopped his personality into a body that is 100% brain cells technically, he's rolling at hyper speed. And i highly doubt Rimuru would be unaware of this-- he's him, looking into what's known about slimes is a thing he'd do. Partially to know about himself and partially just in case theres some that'd like to be part of the party. Also because he's had bits chopped off and he'd want to know if those could accidentally become people if he didn't absorb them. He took biology in school, for all he knows his clone trick could = mitosis.

I'm rambling. My point was that Rimuru would be down to vaguely adopt any sentient slimes that wandered/spawned in Tempest due to magicule levels, provided that they were chill. Just because i like the idea of him doubling down on the teaching thing, while also getting a better read on just how strong a basic slime can actually be. Helps him bullshit that he's a normal slime when he knows how much power he can actually use. Also bc i like the mental image of him having this family of slimes that attached to him emotionally because him naming them/mentally communicating with them let them become more than their desire to Consume. Just so he's got some slime family.

Main Rimuru headcanon re: being a slime is largely that he keeps having... weird urges. Like, he was born with his human personality from the jump, so he never really got to just go "as a slime, this means i'm hungry, this means i need moisture" in context of his new body. Another reason he looks into slimes, really. Because sure he'll have a drink or food--he doesn't technically need it in the same way--but its not... "i'm thirsty/hungry" it's "i need to consume". Because his mass increases, decreases, and alters based on what he's doing with it-- the density of his ball form is higher than his Shizu-like form, for example, and he's more likely to want to consume in that form. Because in ball form he can just vibe until something takes some material off. So he gets weird urges to engulf things he already analyzed, for example. Or he'll look at a deer thing and wanna go blob on it, but the human part of him says no. I also imagine a lot of things get stuck to him that he has to wash off, when in ball form. Because while he's not intrinsically sticky, things are and its not like he'd care if its like. dust or a leaf, until it got gross to feel. Ranga has shed on this poor man so much. Most the time he can just absorb it, but when he's feeling particularly gross he just lives in a nice warm tub for a while. I also think he's probably had the urge to divide at some point, like after a huge festival meal and biologically his body went "oh, we're large enough to become smaller" and he sat there not knowing what that feeling was because he'd never ran through the slime paces properly. I think he'd ask Great Sage wtf the feeling was and then have a Crisis about it before going "no thank you body, i have a country to run i do NOT have time to be a dad" and just. treats the urge with the sort of beleaguered annoyance as someone having their period. "This again? I said no-" I feel like he'd only divide if he knew 1000% for certain it'd not just be a 1:1 clone of himself and its own person. Because he can handle other things, but he's read and watched enough things to know one of them would be an evil twin and he doesn't want it to be him. Or fight himself because he knows himself. He also doesn't know if fully dividing--not just making a dummy clone--would copy his skills. It's one thing to be a weapon of mass destruction, its another to purposely make one whenever you've eaten too much bbq. That said i think this means he's just. Gathering mass. So if you weighed him it'd be.. surprising. He's just sitting here becoming denser than a poorly made poundcake and Shion yeeting him in ball form could be a valid way to breech a castle wall.
