The babies from SM23 are all eating well and growing strong. They'll be ready to go out into the world as soon as they hit 10 grams!

Eastern Speckled King Snake top photo, tessera corn snake bottom photo
Round 3 starts off with a pair of gorgeous colubrids! But which of these beautiful rodent-disposal machines has the most drip--the firefly covered eastern speckled kingsnake or the chainlinked tessera corn snake?

little clay just had his first meal after regurgitation recovery AND a shed cycle, meaning it had been a full month or so since he ate 😵‍💫!! safe to say i have been stressed to death about him lol, but he's being his active, curious, and very cranky self again :) he was not happy about his meal being a single pinkie head with nutribac 😭
have to work his meal size back up very slowly, i'm going to wait until he's 40g to move him up to regular fuzzies to be extra cautious (which was the advice of an expert i messaged with). i'm really happy to be seeing him out and about again, i've been missing him so much the past month 🥲 it's hard to capture in photos but after shedding, he's an even lighter gray, and his dark accents are bolder. he's going to be SO pretty as an adult :']
also, his highest basking temp is 87-89°, in the photo it says 80° because i had to take the heat lamps off of the cage to feed him :)

Three photos of my gray and white corn snake Clay. He has blue eyes and a faint lighter gray stripe down his back, and no other pattern. The first photo is of him coiled up on top of a branch. The second is of him looking at me through an artificial plant waiting for more food. The third is of him lifting his head and looking at me from the side. ]

Those weird Hypos in SM23 had me side-eyeing Snikki, wondering if maybe she'd somehow retained sperm from a previous year. This little one confirms that the clutch is indeed Meteorite's babies!
(with Snikki's positive attitude towards photography.)

Snake Swag Bracket Round 4
Tumblr media
Here we are in the semi-finals, starting off with two gorgeous snakes. But will it be the orange, red, and yellow of the tessera corn snake, or the rainbow iridescence of the white lipped python that makes it into the final round?

this blog is my diary and it is just crochet and drawing and snakes bc what else do u need in life!!!
anyways i have (mostly) finished clay's 20gal long, and he has moved in!!! it's bioactive but with fake plants bc nelly (my other snake) has proven to me that real ones, with my low budget, are simply not worth it with the destructiveness of snakes lol. i have some more fake plants coming in the mail soon, including a large fake fern which i plan to put in the back left to fill out that space better. i also have some more isopods coming in for the tank, a party pack of Porcellionides pruinosus (powder oranges, powder blues, whites, and oreo crumbles)!!
i'm so happy to have clay out of quarantine and into a nicely lit, full, natural-looking setup. i will of course be upgrading him to a 4x2x2 when he outgrows this tank :) he has a hot side hide and cool side hide btw, they are just hard to see in all the clutter.
clay is a hypo anery cinder tessera corn snake, 8 months old.

Multiple photos of my cornsnake Clay, who is gray with dark gray speckling, has a light gray stripe down his back, and has blue eyes. The photos show him exploring his new enclosure full of wood, fake plants, leaf litter, and more. A full picture of the enclosure is shown as well. ]
