MOST ICONIC BIRD CALL BRACKET: ROUND TWO: WOOD THRUSH vs. GREAT KISKADEE
IN THE BLUE CORNER, from the depths of the north american forests, the melodic marvel, the WOOD THRUSH!
this bird may be small, but its voice is mighty. the audubon society has considered its enchanting, flute-like song as a contender for one of the most beautiful in north america. the wood thrush may be known for its sweet voice, but don't let its gentle demeanor fool you. with lightning-fast reflexes and a sharp beak, this bird is a force to be reckoned with in the ring. this is one bird that's sure to hit all the right notes. don't miss this chance to witness the natural beauty and fierce strength of the wood thrush in action. this is one bird you won't want to miss!
IN THE RED CORNER, we have a bird of many names. welcome to the ring the bem-te-vi, the pitogue, the benteveo, the cristofué, the GREAT KISKADEE!
with its striking yellow and black plumage and distinctive "kis-ka-dee" call, this bird is a force to be reckoned with in the ring. this bird is known by multiple onomatopoeic names across south and central america, all thanks to that exuberant BEE-tee-WEE call. don't underestimate the great kiskadee - this bird is a true champion and is here to take on all challengers. get ready for a battle of epic proportions as this feathered fighter shows off its skills and takes down the competition!

you know what since everyone is so passionate about GRAPHICS INTERCHANGE FORMAT meaning the acronym is GHIF over the simplified and more intuitive GEE EYE EFF, GIF, its come to my attention that the alphabet is actually bad and needs some updates, because clearly it is just so confusing for people that G is pronounced with a soft g and NOT with its unique letter state; so im updating the alphabet to make it better
the letters are now ay, bee, dee, ee, ffef, ghee, haych, iy, jay, kay, lel, mem, nen, oh, pee, que, rawr, ses, tee, uuy, vee, wow, xss, yaiy, zee
changes of note are that the letter C has been removed due to being bloatware on the alphabet, since K and S already cover all bases for c; W has been reinstated with its original name instead of its nickname UU, and all letters have first letter priority in their own names.

Anyway sometimes my brain doesn't work.
So, the names of the letters in the Finnish alphabet are pretty systematic. The name of a letter that represents a vowel phonemically is always the long version of that vowel. Thus, the letter A is called "aa," /ɑː/. The names of the consonant letters are a bit less consistent, but there are a few patterns (with notable exceptions): letters representing stop sounds are named with the stop sound followed by a long /eː/ sound ("bee," "dee," "gee," "pee," "tee") except for k ("koo") and q ("kuu"). Letters representing fricatives and liquids generally follow a naming pattern of a short ä, /æː/ sound followed by the sound the letter represents ("äf," "äl," "är," "äs"), with h and v as the main exceptions ("hoo," "vee")
So imagine my white ass spelling out an acronym that ends in "h" only to suddenly be met with interference from the fact that it represents a fricative sound and to decide to apply the standard fricative pattern to it, resulting in the novel name "äh"

English to Furbish to toki pona ““dictionary””
today, i learned that Furbish is actually kinda a language?? after reading this post by @favoriteanimal and skimming this wiki page, i naturally decided to try to translate all the Furbish words and phrases into my beloved toki pona. oh boy was it a journey!
overall, i feel like toki pona is a much more flexible + efficient little language in comparison to Furbish. the main issue that irked me was the amount of unnecessary variations of the same concept, but made into 3 or more words! (i think this may just be the toki ponist in me.) i’m also not certain, but it seems like Furbish may be a relex?? someone please let me know, if ya know!
however, Furbish still succeeds in what (i believe) it sets out to do: to be a very cute, baby-sounding language that can be used to express many interactions between pet + owner / baby + guardian.
please note:
i was quite tired + made this in the span of about 3 hours!
i am not a toki pona expert and have little experience with Furbies
toki pona is best expressed in context and sometimes requires multiple sentences to convey an idea, so many of these don’t work well to be translated as abstract concepts.
i used some non-standard words (both non-pu and non-ku suli)
if i’ve made any mistakes, please kindly correct me! if you think a phrase could be better expressed a different way, feel free to share!
