Vaguely thinking about an Ace Attorney-esque bingqiu au where shen yuan is a tired but talented prosecutor feeling down on his life, questioning his hopes and dreams, and maybe considering a career change so he can spend his time reading webnovels all day. Followed by a young, up and coming defense attorney luo binghe who became a lawyer in the first place to meet shen yuan again and maybe, possibly, sorta get to know him after shen yuan left a lasting impression on him by helping him out somehow during his childhood. They meet again in court with shang qinghua as the defendant, who is definitely the larry butz-like character of the au. Hijinks, court drama, and not exactly mid-life crises ensue.

I was thinking about the illyrian war camps again and its like. okay so, iirc Rhysand was sent there when he was 9, so Im gonna assume thats like, the standard age which is pretty horrifying and also feels kinda unecessary considering the fact that illyrians are immortal so its not like youre not gonna have time to fully train them later or anything. but whatever, thats just how it is. So these kids are trained to become soldiers or, sorry, Warriors, which involves teaching them how to be violent in the most efficent way possible while also teaching them to effectively shut down their compassion, because thats what you need to do in order to make people okay with killing other people, at an incredibly formative age. And then they presumably only see women when theyre doing chores around the camp or, since we're told pretty much all non-batboy illyrian men are horrible misogynistic rapists, when theyre being assaulted by the men who run the camp that the boys are presumably taught to admire and respect unquestionably until theyve grown up. so. do you think those things might perhaps have something to do with all that domestic violence in illyria

okay. listen. whatever you do, don't think about how nothing about Heaven feels loved.
certainly not in the way Aziraphale's used to, a sunshine warm unexpected delight. there are no flashes of love from places or people falling and grieving and caring too much. it took him a while, but ever since he can tell the difference it's like forgetting how to breathe, can't stop the wheeze. within the air occupied by the angels (their chests don't move, do their hearts have a rhythm?) a wrong-shaped, lost cabin pressure meets him halfway, only they don't hang masks from that ceiling, he's looking down at the aeroplanes.
he could always breathe easier with - red and black at the periphery - yellow too, if he's lucky. (he's not anymore)
put a hand to it, and he can pretend that the burning too high in his throat glows steady and low inside the chest; pray, so it matches someone, anyone, way Down below.

Some stats about my large crochet project:
I've gone through 264 yards (241 meters, 0.15 miles) of yarn. The pattern calls for 1,261 yards for a completed project (1,153 meters, 0.716 miles) in the size I am making now.
It would take 29,565.6 Dinoponera gigantea ants to equal the length of a completed project, and I am at 6,189.78 currently.
Without further delay, this is what 6,189.78 Dinoponera gigantea ants look like. If you even care.

ik normally we talk about situations like what shubble opened up about, we wanted to take time to think through everything especially because of how upsetting the topic is to us personally. as of now, we do agree that signs point to wilbur so we wont support him and we encourage others to not support him during this time and especially not actively defend him.
but we dont want to make a big deal out of not supporting him so focus can be on shubble and people learning how to see signs of abuse. we're already not very active due to our own recent experience with a traumatizing friendship (we hesitate to really call it abuse yet) but regarding that experience and others weve had we can focus on another big part of shubbles stream: educating others about the signs of abuse. so we want to use the rest of this post to talk about that
abusers will be everywhere and anywhere. yes there will be more in this community, but youll find them no matter where you go and there will be abusers in your personal life as well, whether you end up being abused or someone you know does. theres abusers who are "obvious", who scream and yell and hit. and theres abusers who are charismatic, who will be supportive and funny and yet passive aggressive and backstabbing. and theres abusers who will be quiet and cold and manipulative. and theres abusers who fall into multiple "categories" because theyre complex people just like anyone else and thats why abuse can happen to everyone. because abusers can be anyone.
dont get yourself caught up in how "theyre such a good person", dont get yourself caught up in thinking abuse could never happen to you. if you find yourself in a situation where communication doesnt work, where the other person hurts you over and over and doesnt show signs of getting better, where you keep finding ways to blame yourself and defend them (especially if you find yourself thinking that you deserve how they treat you), where youre scared of them and how theyd react if you told them so, where when you tell them you dont like how they treat you they dismiss you and start treating you worse, look into how to get out of there.
and know that it will take a while. that abuse is hard to get away from. that sometimes youll be trapped for a long time and sometimes youll relapse and defend them even after youve realized theyre abusive. and there will be people who support your abuser over you and people who will hate you and believe your abuser over you. and there will be people who support you but will still support your abuser too for whatever reason. and there will be people who support you fullheartedly and care for you and help you even if it takes you a long time to find them.
abuse is complex. "good people" can be abusive. no matter the fandom, no matter the community, no matter the when who where how why there will always be abusers around. no matter where you go or who you talk to there will always be some case of abuse. the important thing is to educate yourself.
learn about tactics like DARVO (deny, attack, reverse [the roles of] victim and offender), keep notes of the hotlines and organizations about abuse. keep the discussion of how to spot abuse and support the victims open. and always, always, keep more affection in your heart for victims than you do hate for abusers. make yourself someone who can be confided in and trusted to not take advantage of that trust.
and remember: if youre a victim yourself, its okay if you didnt do everything "right". its okay if your feelings keep changing, its okay if you were an asshole victim, its okay if you didnt see the signs even when others pointed them out to you, its okay if you did things "wrong". abuse is hard to sort through and what matters is not whether you "provoked" them, its that they had the power to hurt you and get away with it and they used it, over and over. and thats horrible and what you deserve is to get out and to be able to speak about it without getting hurt for it.
if shubble's story and others like hers resonate with you, tell people. it doesnt have to be public. in most cases it shouldnt be. tell people who you can trust in private and get the support you need so that when youre able and ready to you can get out. and know that there are people like you and even if you feel alone right now you wont be forever

Sango felt kind of sad to me in the new ep. In a way, it reminded me of Amethio who had no one to protect him against Rayquaza in HZ033 (compared to Liko and Roy who had adults looking out for them).
Similarly here, Sango wasn't taught anything about cooking or baking at all, in comparison to Liko who was taught how to make sweets by Murdock (and knowing him, he was probably really patient when teaching her). Sango had no one to cheer on her and she seemed confused about kitchen tools so she probably was never taught by anyone about things like this. Still, I felt like she actually had an idea in mind when she tried to make her cake because the ice sculpture she made out of it resembled the Pokemon she has on her school bag? (Namakobushi, I think) So she was trying to do something specific but she failed and she was just frustrated about not knowing how to do it. I really wonder if that's the first time something like this happened for her..

the thing with milgram is that i don't actually know how good the writing is. i haven't seen any payoff yet, and i don't even know what that payoff will look like, so i can't know how much you can analyze and at what point you start digging into things that were never intended. and for most of the prisoners, that's fine, there's no harm in waiting.
but i'm now being asked to trust that something that looks like harmful DID misrepresentation will actually turn out to be clever and subversive. and i can't really bring myself to do that when i have no evidence that the writers know what they're talking about and aren't just misrepresenting DID. right now, after years of hinting at an explanation, it is presenting us with a character who was stressed at work and so developed an alter who kills people that annoy him.
sure, i could give it the benefit of the doubt. maybe mikoto's alter is lying about his motive. maybe the writers do know that DID develops as a result of childhood trauma in the vast majority of cases and plan to reveal more in the third trial. sure. but the simplest explanation is that the writers are just misrepresenting DID and playing into the "evil/murderous alter" trope, and i have no reason to have faith that that's not the case. especially since, even if there is more going on, they're still willing to leave it like this for at least another year before subverting it, and that's extremely irresponsible imo.
yeah. so. musically, double was great. but everything else just leaves me feeling really, really bad.
