I will never be over Leo’s 4D chess play in “Many Unhappy Returns”. Like, just in general it is a spectacle to see this character who we’ve seen goofing around time and time again, who’s only sometimes decided to take things seriously, only to show him making a maneuver like that.
And here’s what gets me the most about his plan against Big Mama: he comes up with it on the spot. The second he sees that Big Mama has the solution they need, he’s already in game mode.
It is so satisfying watching the episode back when you realize his plan, because he literally sets the stage entirely for a decisive victory. He sees that the champion is a kraken, and comes up with both the solution to defeating it and a reasonable excuse to get that solution into the battle with them on the fly:
“Like your champ aaand those six guys. In fact, we don’t want this over too quickly. You should armor up those rookies. The whole shebang. Especially with these pointy helmets.”
And this is why giving him teleportation powers is perfect, too. He analyzes the battlefield and makes use of all the assets, moving pieces around to guarantee a win. It is honestly so impressive to witness and one of my favorite parts of his character.

This Motley Pilot (its not an ep1, it's a Pilot) is gonna be so fucking killer. It's all falling into place for real.
Now I'm at the stage where I'm debating whether or not it should have songs. Lol
Lime (the one I post about the least, lol) got a pretty big overhaul, now she TRULY feels like one of the main characters. Ooooo so excited to share more previews and clips. Stay tunedddd

I have a question: I haven't read DOTCs but I have read the guides, and the guides Grey Wing is my fave and I've been warned he gets absolutely destroyed in the DOTCs books..so, what are the differences in Guide Grey Wing and SOTC Grey Wing?
BOTC!Graywing only has about a paragraph or so of information on him, and it points towards him being an ancient warlord type. I really like and miss this version, because it reminds me of something straight out of the Seven Military Classics.
We know that he was specifically an ancient leader of WindClan, back before leaders took -star as part of their names. Using some simple deduction from the history we know from SOTC, this means he was a leader before there were official Clans, and before Windstar. Just warring groups without borders.
Onestar refers to him as a tactician, and explains that he invented the practice of strategic placement using stones and drawings in his den like a little kitty war room.
These tactics mostly have to do with battling in open fields, so we can assume;
There were a lot of battles taking place in the moor
Graywing the Wise was involved in a lot of battles, so he could develop and test these ideas.
It's not much, but it's interesting. Paints this idea of a Moorland Warlord... Moorlord, if you will.
DOTC!Gray Wing has a couple of scenes where he's talking strategy or vaguely referencing a tactic, but he spends 3/4ths of his VERY short life having meltdowns at the idea of combat because Hurting My Sweet Brother Makes Us Just As Bad :(
(Camera pans and Sweet Brother Clear Sky is tying a woman to train tracks and cackling maniacally)
MOST of his life is this. He's like 2 years old when he dies of asthma and he only started having opponents to plan battle against in the last few months.
Most of the fights he's involved in before that are spontaneous-- and even less are commanding armies as was implied in BOTC.
He also half leads "WindClan". He's a joint leader with Shadowstar for a while. Anyway, DOTC also tosses him a pity mate because his first two love interests got fridged. His adopted kids like their abusive biodads more; one of them even vows to avenge Tom the Wifebeater, a man she met once who got her mom killed.
Aaaand that's the difference. I think it's obvious I like the BOTC take more.

Rain World to me in the context of having an overarching narrative is distinctly unique in the fact that the player character is not the protagonist. The game in fact both implicitly and explicitly shows that slugcats aren't the grand determinant of the fate of the world, and at most they are simply being afforded an option as creatures who are nestled within the endless cycle of life and rebirth. I always found that aspect of the game to be the most realistic, because it was always about survival inside an ever increasing hostile biosphere especially since you are most certainly not above the food chain.
It genuinely didn't matter if you chose to ascend or not. Whether you decide to take that path is ultimately up to you. Regardless, the world will move on, with or without you.

7 and 8 for the ask game
Doing this for Hollow Knight!
7. your favorite tropes to read/write/draw
-PK being forced to deal with his regrets and what he did to his children and ALSO his entire lineage being just one step removed from being a totally wild nonsocial superpredator in comparison to the very human-like social beetles that they rule over, which he very much does not like to be reminded of and thus is just as fun to thrust upon him. I love him, he reminds me of myself, but I also hate him because he reminds me of the worst of myself, but I also love hating him because it makes me feel better about myself because at least I'm not doing whatever the fuck HE'S doing, and that results in me just. fuckin. grabbing him in my teeth and going brrrrrrrr like an alligator deathrolling their prey
I also just really enjoy writing inhuman characters to begin with, and the fact that Hollow Knight starts off at the baseline of the whole cast being inhuman is so so nice and fun to play around with. Hollow, PK, and Lurien are all fav povs for me to write because they show different angles of how inhuman beings interact with inhuman societies, and its just super super fun to finangle how they all perceive and interact with the world as a result
8. you hope more people will come to appreciate ___ (a ship, a trope, an episode, etc)
-LURIEN!! Specifically, I'd love to see more stuff with Lurien being the Watcher and/or interacting with the other Dreamers + Hollow. I def. think that I artificially inflated the amount of Lurien content simply by virtue of being obsessed with him for like, 4 fucking years, but I also just really really like seeing different people's takes on him. He's kind of canon's biggest plot hole, and looking at the different ways that people work to fill that hole + comparing and contrasting how I did it to them is super fun (provided that there's actual thought put into it vs just cracking 'king beloved' jokes, ofc)

so i was checking the wiki for the mci kids and i came across a picture from one of the graphic novels and like.
this is actually the most terrifying image i've seen of any official art. the fact that they're all just. set up in the chairs, limp and lifeless? with the party hats?
this is a million times scarier and more morbid than the more bloody, body horror types of takes i'm used to from my steady consumption of michael content. the graphic novels still aren't my favorite but like, underrated image. this one's scary.
