and no, not one of those starlets hanging out in ridiculously overpriced LA villas - now finally available in "sustainable" minus an ecological footprint rivaling the size of their range rovers. the owner will fly in from two towns over so they get there early for their yearly yacht trip and ill activate adblock so palantir cant pester me with 50-euro airline ads to the maldives because shit, money is going to be a bit tight this month

i want to eat a star. actual heaps of gas and space dust and heat and whatdoiknow, im not a scientist, id rather not belie my words by googling the exact chemical configuration of something thats just bright and pacifying to me, something thatll melt on my tongue. 'm not even gonna chew. just gonna swallow it. the way i ate chocolate as a kid because relishing in something meant enough time for it to be taken away. the way i drink medicine because - if you gulp it down really quickly, it doesnt have time to taste bitter: anything can be honeyed milk if you clench your teeth hard enough

did you know thats what galaxy means anyway? milk? i wonder what galactical honey would be, then. whether id think its sweet or spicy, whether id like the taste or want to spit it out. if itd go down with well-rounded corners or lodge itself into my throat and stay there. fishbones. i also wonder whether astronauts ever feel scammed when they set foot on the ISS and realize theyre not going to bear witness to a sky made out of sparkling lights and silver threads and golden spots and rainbow clouds but rather just a sea so inky black it's going to make breathing difficult not just by lack of oxygen alone. earths much too reflective for any other luminescent object to be visible to the naked eye, ive been told, hence why youd just be looking at a planet so bright it surely hurts to stare at it, and i wonder what it feels like, being up there and gazing down only to be blinded when youre so used to looking up and squinting?

im homesick thinking of kids drawing earth into the upper right corner of their drawings. i dont actually know if theres stars up there though everybody tells me those pinprick lights are, and i cant breathe when im busy trying to figure out what exact level of depression the stale air around me tastes like. but something in my brain clicks when i think of shiny things and theres no empirical evidence that grabbing the sparkly stuff up above my head wont cure me so i want to, i want to, i want to. wanting always boils down to sinking your teeth into it and ive filed my canines far too often to fear the force of my bite now

people dance on the moon and i mimic their steps in my bedroom and though these are just small steps i dont know the names of the poor sods stuck on the ISS either, even though there's only been like 500 of them and they're all way better at living life than i am. my hands ghost over where i instinctively know the light switches of my flat are and wonder if up there somebody's got a nightlight, cheap plastic stars attached to their ceilings, one of those little projectors that put constellations on your walls. whether they ever have trouble sleeping and if yes, what the hell do they look up at then? who do they cast their wishes to?

never seen a star up close. never held one. but the concept is so familiar, so ingrained into whatever our shared consciousness is made out of, that i want with my molars. i itch to keep it in my tummy so it keeps me warm on the cold days and i only trust what i see so i want to look at it until my retinas burn, until the sound of the big bang echos in the confines of my brain. itll drown out all other unwanted thoughts and itll sing in the genetic make-up of my descendants long after my neighbours cant hear me sing in the shower anymore. ill cup my palms and pray into them. begging is easier when youre in position and im on my knees and i swear ill never run out of things to whisper to the radiant little ember in my hands because it is beautiful and because i like shiny things and because stars have always made us look up at them and

When I finally get my teeth on it and swallow it whole I'm sure a piece of the star will get lodged in my throat like. fishbones. in a last-ditch effort at vengeance. I'll spend the rest of my life attempting to choke it back up.

Today was a long, good day 😊

To keep it nice + simple, i

Worked out at 8:45

Had a session with a nutritionist

Worked out again at 10

Had an hour to kill + chill

Did yoga + meditated in the afternoon 😮

Showered afterwards

Had a good hour + a half to myself eating, drawing, + chatting with friends ☺

Went to actual work

Slow day but I watched Decedents with one of my coworkers 😊

Got me Chipotle + chilled/chilling for the rest of the night

Top 3 best parts of the day, in no particular order, were the meditation session, the moment the item was delivered, + watching Descendants with my coworker X3

I definitely liked the meditation part of the yoga class. As the instructor played these instruments + a gong, I felt vibrations or ripples at certain parts of my body at certain times. With each soft ring of the gong, I felt my body sinking + sinking in the ground. Definitely one of the best meditation sessions I've ever had X)

After I got myself food from the cafe area, that's when I found out that the item has been delivered safely! I kept smiling + smiling as the item was slowly being unveiled >X3 I will admit I did overdo it on the taping + decorating. It's a way to use my stickers + fun tapes well. Lol, the receiver described it as being "glitterbombed" 🤣 I can be extra extra by putting confetti or glitter in a future package. Hmmm, maybe that would be too messy 🤔 I'll stick with the stickers 😂 It does remind me of how OceanInSpace uses a f***ton of stickers on her art sometimes. Guess its rubbing on me. More like, sticking onto me. Overall, he liked it 🤩

For the next one, I must learn to draw another friend's OC 1st. I already imagine some shocking green in the bg. Maybe like graffiti? I'm envisioning green based on the refs I've been exposed to. Itll be another great excuse to play with shiny metallic watercolors + send another item to another friend. Thatll be exciting! 🤩

I was/am sore after all the physical activity I've done all day. Sore legs. Sore arms. Sore throat. Thankfully it was slow at work. I was so into watching Descendants. It was one of those things I wished I got into when it came out but never got the chance to watch it. Took me a couple tries to see whose kid was who. Goes to show (no pun intended) that I cant watch alone + need someone alongside to watch with. I liked Ursula's granddaughter, Uma's nickname, Shrimpy 🤣 then the rush occurred + had to be vigilant.

Rn, my throat + legs hurt the most. Idk why my throat but I hope to just sleep it off. I'll take something less intense tomorrow + hope to sleep in on Wednesday morning. Again, I plan to workout on Monday, Tuesday, + Thursday morning.

I am genuinely sad about tumblr tbqh... like I’m still going to be on here until it’s final days (whenever that’ll be) but like the fact that tumblr has been a staple in my life since 2010-2011??? It’s been such a huge part of me. Yeah it’s a shitty site but like there is no other platform like it. Where else am I going to make 10 consecutive posts about loving data plus with pictures and ugly screencaps??? Where else can I be horny on main for garak??? Certainly not twitter where people I know from real life could see. Idk tumblr is basically my diary from 2010- present and the idea of possibly losing all that history about myself and my friends??? It hurts. I am very sentimental I’m sorry lol. Tumblr has gotten me through the hardest times in my life and idk if any other site can do that for me?

So um. I saw the dialing thing and the line “never speak of this again” with Scar and Mumbo or smth? I dunno I just really liked their dynamic together in their recent eps and I’m super interested in what you’d do with this :D

i couldn't resist the urge to write some fluff with these idiots. based in a future where mumbo's base is fully operational, here's ~1.7k words of mumbo & scar desperately trying to share their single braincell. i hope you enjoy !!

Of all the stupid things Mumbo has done this season, he did not expect getting trapped in his own base to join that list. But, here he is, in his pitch black storage room, in a smaller yet cobblestone and dirt shelter. Trapped for the foreseeable future as he frantically scrolls through his communicator to see if any other hermits are online. It's embarrassing. Absolutely and utterly embarrassing. And the worst thing is, he should have been able to see it coming!

There are reasons he's part of the one braincell squad. Several, in fact, but this moment has to be up there in his top ten.

On the other side of the wall, a zombie groans too close for comfort. He's sitting on grassy ground in a one block space, with only the light of his communicator for comfort. His stuff is going to de-spawn at this rate. This is terrible. Why is nobody else online? Usually there's at least a few others around at this time of day!

Ah. Mumbo's not sure if he should be relieved or kiss his items goodbye. Maybe both. He sighs, fingers already moving to send a message.

<GoodTimeWithScar> Mumbo! Good morning!

<MumboJumbo> i need your help

<GoodTimeWithScar> Oh?

<MumboJumbo> could you come to my base? with a golden apple please?

<MumboJumbo> i promise i will pay you back but im in a bit of a pickle

<GoodTimeWithScar> The great Mumbo needs my help?

<GoodTimeWithScar> What do you even need a golden apple for? Just a normal one, right?

<MumboJumbo> second question, yes

<MumboJumbo> first question, my base died with me trapped in my storage room and it needs feeding to revive it

<GoodTimeWithScar> You know maybe I shouldn't have asked.

<GoodTimeWithScar> I'm on my way. Call?

<MumboJumbo> thatll work.

Mumbo leans his head against cobble, navigating through Scar's contact until he's able to find the call icon. He takes a deep breath, thankful for the good connection across the server. What would he do if he couldn't contact anybody down here? Cry, probably. Die a lot. His communicator dials, then rings for two seconds. Two seconds too long, if you ask him.

"Mumbo!" Scar's voice is accompanied by the explosion of a rocket, wind crackling through the call. Mumbo sighs in relief.

"Scar you are a... sound for sore ears?" Scar laughs, and Mumbo can't help a small giggle in response. He moves to his headphones, hoping to block out the mobs filling his storage room. Why did he think this was a good idea for a base?

"Okay, Mumbo, you're going to have to guide me through what I need to do here." It's strange to hear Scar so straight forward, honestly. His voice still holds that light-hearted note in it, it'll be dark day when Scar loses that.

"Right, okay." Mumbo takes a deep breath, picturing his base in his mind. What's the most Scar-proof way he can explain this? Oh, if Scar dies as well- "So, on the outside of my base, there should be these big towers of redstone lamps, right? They'll all be off right now. But, near the bottom, there should be a chest. You put the golden apple in there."

"Ah, in the like. Big blocks of four?" Mumbo claps, before wincing at how loud that probably was over the microphone.

"Yes! That! Can you see a chest at the bottom?" Mumbo listens closely to the burst of a rocket, the sound of feet stumbling on the ground. He holds his breath, waiting for the confirmation that this situation might finally be over.

"I see it!" His body sags with the release of air. "Okay, uh, I've put the apple in." Mumbo listens closely, taking out a headphone. Distantly, underneath all the mobs, he hears pistons, a familiar heartbeat starting up. If he sinks down any further he's going to become a puddle. "The lights are coming on!"

"Okay-" Mumbo's hands wave in front of him as he speaks "-Go to the centre of my base, there should be nether portals and a massive hole leading downwards." The sounds of movement, footsteps echoing on the walls.

"What the heck, Mumbo, how many mobs do you have down there?" Mumbo sighs, closing his eyes. They're so close.

"Are all of the lights on?" He checks.

"Well, it's lit up. I can see your chests, and I think that's your stuff? Jeez, if I knew I was going to need to fight I would've been more prepared."

"How bad is it?" The high hum from Scar is a pretty good answer.

"Could be better." He hears a block move, followed by Scar telling him, "Alright, I've set my spawn. I'm gonna try to snipe them." Mumbo leans forward, awkwardly manoeuvring so he can break a dirt block against the ground. Light floods into the one block space. He can see the feet of mobs wandering between tall grass. In the distance, there's a clang of an arrow finding a skeleton. He breathes out, wincing at the ache as he pushes up from that position. He's too tall for this.

He thinks he remembers where his stuff was. If the coast is clear, he might be able to run for it and duck back in here. Get his sword equipped, elytra on, and things will be fine! He could salvage some of his dignity. Hopefully. Probably not.

"Scar?" He asks, "Could you tell me if the coast is clear so I can grab my stuff?" It takes a second to get a reply, marked by the ding of a successful hit.

"I can do that." Scar sounds distracted, focused. "Wait- oh, nononono-" Mumbo's communicator dings. He doesn't need to look to know what message will greet him.

"So, uh, Mumbo. We might have a bit of a situation." Mumbo buries his face into his hands. He twists his body down again to get an idea of how many mobs are left. Counting the number of feet and shadows he can see, it's not looking good.

"Yeah, we certainly might." His voice is high, stressed laughter escaping him with his face pressed into the dirt. "What do we do now!" Scar's bubbling giggles are accompanied by the scramble of feet across stone.

"Um, die a bunch?" Scar suggests. Mumbo's arms give up and he falls into a heap. His shoulders shake with his own giggles, the two in harmony over the call.

"Maybe it's a good thing nobody else is on."

Scar has to wait for his laughter to die down to speak, "I bet I'll die less than you." Mumbo smirks.

"You're on."

About half an hour later, Mumbo is sorting his stuff whilst Scar scrolls through their death messages. He's bruised all over, has collected a few scratches from loose arrows, but it looks like all of his items are here. This has gone better than he expected. He still wants to crawl into bed and never get out again.

"You know, I'm pretty sure I've won," Scar announces, looking up from his communicator with a pleased grin. Mumbo makes a noise, pulling up his own screen.

"Absolutely not. There's no way, you died so many times!"

"Yeah, but I died eight times. You died ten." Honestly, he's probably right. Mumbo lost track after death three. Everything blurred into a mess of sprinting off the bed to get his items, picking up half of them, maybe getting a swing or two, dying. And then repeat that apparently ten times.

He sighs as he finishes counting up the deaths. Scar did indeed win. He puts the last of his items in the right slots, leaving the rest to the sorting system. Finding his bed, he flops onto it. Scar is sitting on the stone centre beaming at him. The cut on his forehead is barely healing up, a bruise on his cheek.

"No, no. I want to know exactly how you ended up in this position." He's leaning forward, smug curiousity on every inch of his expression. Mumbo shuts his eyes, whining at him.

Mumbo lifts his hand, gesturing towards his chests, "I should have potions in here somewhere, if you want one." Scar giggles, shaking his head.

"Do you have to?"

"I want to know why I died eight times, Mumbo!"

"You're going to laugh."

"That's the plan." Mumbo shakes his head, rolling around so he can sit on the bed. Scar is waiting patiently, even crossing his legs like he's expecting a bedtime story.

"I made my base alive?" Mumbo explains, not sure why he's questioning himself. He did the redstone and everything. "And, as it gets unhappier, more things close off."

"Including your storage room?" Scar asks, clear amusement in his voice. Mumbo finally breaks into a giggle, falling onto his knees.

"I thought it was a good idea at the time!" He exclaims. "It stops sorting items, the lights go out, and then it locks itself down!"

"With you in it."

"I forgot Xisuma was working in the area!" His groan gets mixed with a laugh. "Oh, I am such an idiot."

"How about we agree to never speak of this again?" Scar suggests. Mumbo's halfway through nodding when Scar adds, "For a few diamonds?" Mumbo bursts into surprised laughter, quickly dissolving into giggles.

"You know what, you deserve them after this." Scar laughs.

"Maybe I'll have to die for people more often," he teases, watching Mumbo as he heads to his diamond chest.

"I wouldn't advise it personally." Mumbo looks over his shoulder at him. "That's how Grian gets you."

"Mm, very true." Scar takes in the storage room again, pocketing the diamonds Mumbo offers him. "Do you think you could show me some of the redstone behind this place? I am absolutely fascinated by how you managed to make such a counterproductive system."

"Well, you know I'll never miss an opportunity to show off my redstone." Scar takes the hand Mumbo offers him, smiling.

It's an hour or so later. Mumbo is showing off how he sends the signal between floors when their communicators beep.

Hi dude! I hope u dont mind me askin a therapy question. But i could some advice if u dont mind giving it. Basically, how do u get out of a... funk? Idk. I just feel like meh all the time now that i live on my own (i moved outta my parents house, iv never felt like this beforehand) like, ill wake up at 2. Im too lazy to make food so i just read fics to distract myself. If i do make food, which i am learning to cook. I just eat junk food. I cant find the need to shower or brush my teeth unless i know im going somewhere before hand. I rarely change my clothes. I do have school, which has helped on the days i go. I feel productive when i go to class. But its only 2 days a week, other than that i just feel so lazy, like im wasting my life away.

Idk. Im getting a cat in about a week so hopefully thatll help me feel less lonely n lazy. I dont feel sad, just kinda meh all the time. Speaking of that, i had another question to ask u. Now, iv always done this, since elementry school and i do NOT mean it srsly at all.

But, sometimes when i get stressed, over menial tasks usually i just think "well if this gets too hard i can just take a buncha benedryl" (or something to that effect)

Is that bad?? I dont mean it, iv attempted suicide and iv fully recovered, i know what that headspace is like and im not in it. But its just... nice to think about? Like, ya this is hard but at least i got an easy way out? Idk what do u think? Sorry if this is so much, theres absolutly no pressure to answer. But i dont really feel comfterable talking to the people i know irl about this.

Any advice? 😣

Trigger warning: suicidal ideation

To answer the first part of your question, part of it is about being purposeful about planning at least one small task you can accomplish each day and one thing that can be used for self care/enjoyment. So for example, cleaning the bathroom sink and then watching an old favorite movie with a warm cup of tea. Or running an errand and spending some time reading on the couch. It’s good that you noticed that productivity helps with your mood because that’s a huge component. It feels good when we feel accomplished or got something done. You always want to balance that with comfort time and self care as well. But if you just moved out of your parents house, you might be missing socialization. Reach out to friends or family to schedule something (even if it’s just a meal together) to do once a week or so.

As for the passive suicidal statements, it’s not uncommon to use dark humor as a coping mechanism. But the fact that you follow that up with saying “but at least I got an easy way out” isn’t using it as humor. That’s a passive suicidal thought without the context of it being a throwaway joke when you’re feeling frustrated or upset. So I wouldn’t say that you’re actually fully outside of that headspace. It may be less extreme now than in the past and it may be less overall risk, but the thoughts remain. But please keep in mind that I can not appropriately assess these things for you through a tumblr ask like this so I would strongly encourage you to connect with local mental health services if these thoughts continue. There is absolutely a difference between those types of thoughts and having a plan/intent. But the ultimate goal is to lessen the thoughts themselves or not have them at all. In those moments, I’d challenge you to write something in a journal or a scrap piece of paper or even say aloud, one thing you are looking forward to, grateful for, or glad you are able to experience currently by being alive. It doesn’t have to be something significant. It can be a concert you want to see, or the next marvel movie. Your new cat. Chocolate chip cookies warm out of the oven. Anything you want.

A Day Half Alone

Blankly staring at the bright screen ahead of you, you felt bored with every inch of your body. The feeling of something missing was lingering inside you, and it was paining you to be left alone, even if was only for a couple hours.

You felt your body sink into the plush material of your bed. The soft blankets enveloping you in their warmth. Though, you wanted to be in his warmth right now.

As the T.V played, you thought about how much you'd missed the feeling of his arms around you, and how he'd gently play with your hair.

Surely, Oikawa would get home from practice soon. As the evening drew in and the sky faded from it's normal blue to a softer purple, you though back on a conversation from the other day.

♢♡♢♡♢♡♢♡♢♡♢♡♢♡♢♡♢♡♢♡♢♡♢♡♢♡♢♡♢♢♡♢♡♢♡♢♡♢♡♢♡♢♡♢

"You should really take a break y/n.", Oikawa spoke, with a tone, sweeet and soft as silk. "I don't want you to be like me and overwork your self", he continued on.

"But-", you started, but were cut off by a pair of soft lips meeting with yours. Trying to protest and soon realizing it was futile, you gave into the kiss, cherishing every second of it.

Remembering that the both of you need to breathe, you both regrettably parted from each other. Your head was soon gently tilted upwards and you were met with a soft gaze.

"C'mon, take the day off tomorrow, and we can spend the weekend together, I promise."

Any second now.

You were practically dying from the anticipation and from being left alone. You settled for holding onto a pillow and lipping through every single channel.

After a hour or so, there was a knock at the front door. Was he finally back?! Almost tripping on the floor from how fast you got up, you continued to run to the door, wanting to see his face again.

Opening the door, you caught a glimpse of a white and teal jacket, before you were immediately pulled into a tight hug. Instantly giving in, you focused on every detail in this moment.

The way his arms wrapped around you made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Oikawa never failed no make you feel wanted and loved. It was a part of his charm that made you fall harder for him.

You could feel his chest rise up and down, and it was a feeling you never wanted to let go of. After a while, Oikawa let go of you, and the two of you walked back into your house.

“Judging by the way you came running to the door, you missed me”, Oikawa said with a teasing tone to his voice.

“I- so what if I did miss you. I was alone for most of the day”, you confessed, trying to ignore the heat riding to your face.

“Well, you won’t be alone any longer. I promised I’d spend the weekend with you”, Oikawa cooed, giving you one of his signature smiles.

One that never failed to melt your heart, one that meant he’d love you unconditionally, that he’d believe in you, and that he’d always love you unconditionally.

“Ah! Let’s not just stand here, c’mon, I’ll tell you all about my day.”, Oikawa insisted, lacing his fingers with yours.

“I love you, so much”, you breathed, placing a kiss to his cheek.

Sighing happily, you drifted off into your dreams, still cuddled into Oikawa.

What is it like for a ship to sink? Do they feel something? Or is more just like 'I need to get my pilot to safety? I am rlly curious about sinking bc it seems very traumatizing both for the pilot and ship

The ships feel when they’re damaged or when there are any problems with their system, but they don’t feel any pain. They do, however, have a drive “to live”- they understand that sinking = deactivating = “death”

So, when sinking, the ship has two things in mind. One is “i’ll deactivate if this keeps up and that’ll be the end of me” and the other is “my pilot’s life is at risk”. Their first impulse is, of course, to get their pilot to safety, but they do have a whole drive to keep themselves out of danger for their own wellbeing as well.

In the end, when a ship sinks, they do feel something akin to fear, worry, panic, on and on. They worry for their own wellbeing as well as their pilot’s, they fear deactivating and never waking up again, etc.

To them it’s traumatic as well- that’s why when sunken ships are recovered, before they’re set to operate normally again, they go through at least one week of counseling with a medical unit because their traumas can interfere in missions. For example, even with counseling, Titanic still avoids operating near ice belts and refuses to participate in the winter guard.

I dont think ill get an answer but in case anyone can explain thatll be helpful! so i was talking to my friends on discord and decided to go and watch some youtube. it was 6:47. i found a video, 22 minutes long. It was now 6:50. i hit play and grabbed my sketchbook to start drawing. around 10 minutes later, i paused the vid to check the time. i was a little more than halfway through. i looked at the time and felt my heart sink into my stomach. It had been a little over 10 minutes. the clock said 8:27.

I'm having a baby due at the end of this month and my car was just totaled by hitting a deer so I need to get a new one asap. The car that was just totaled was my first car which was in my parents name and insurance was also under there name. My boyfriend will be getting the loan for the new car because he has better credit, but we wanted the insurance in my name because it is cheaper so how do we go about doing that? If even possible""

My car was involved in a hit and run and am not covered by insurance?

I just got a message from my friend saying that the car that I now own was involved in an accident. Specifically a hit and run. I know for a fact it wasn't me who hit the car and ran. It had to have been my other friend who borrowed my car. The car is not insured. I'm guessing my friend took off at the scene of the crime and came back not telling me about it. I really didn't notice anything wrong with the car until today putting 2 and 2 together with the newish scratch I had on the nose of my 1997 v6 camaro. It looks like he rear ended the other car from the outline of the marks on my car. Thing is he is not in California anymore and moved back to the east coast. I met the guy and became friends for about a month and a half. He knew alot about cars and he said that he would take it down to this one guy he knew how to flush out the radiator. He did that on the 24th of nov. and the claim of the other driver was said to be on the 24th. What do I do? I can't make any contact with my friend who drove the car because I can't locate him. Am I charged with a hit and run or is he? I forgot his last name so I really can't hold him responsible or report him liable The previous owner got the memo about the claim report because it is still in his name kinda. I told him to say he does not own the car any more and give the insurance company my info and I'll see what i can do. Well what should I do? I need some legit legal consulting.
