Happy 2 Year Anniversary to The Chara Timeline ✨

I FINALLY made drawing references for you guys, yippie!✨

It’s wild how long I’ve been working on this comic without reference sheets. I’m never that consistent with my art style, so I figured it was a waste of time 🫥💀😔 this is my first full comic okay…

Wow. It’s been 2 years??? I thought I would be done with this comic in 2 months! I don’t know whether to feel worried or accomplished!!

(With months between each update, I understand why it’s been 2 years. I’m a slow writer and artist and well- many things have come up in my life that had to come first, like my sisters wedding! 💞 and college 😅)

I want to thank my family and friends (WHO DO NOT READ THIS COMIC- THANK GOD) 💕 AND I want to THANK YOU! The readers! 💐💐

You guys are relentless! I’m as impatient as traffic and yet you guys wait for weeks or months at a time for like 4 pages?! You guys don’t even complain!!! I truly want to thank you all for that ❤️ it helps me so much. Being busy and getting burnt out are common and it helps me feel relaxed that i'm not on a timer. Literally tho- you guys keep this comic chugging I swear. Tysm 💐

My feelings with this comic are actually so complicated. On one hand I hate looking at my older art because GOD IT LOOKS SO OFF I want to stab it, and then on the other hand I am so so proud of myself for even continuing it this far. Ngl the weird route has been one of my favorite parts of this comic. It took me FOREVER to figure out an ending, but damn do I still get chills >:) hehe.

I’m still miffed that I named this project “Deltarune: The Chara Timeline” I could have gone for something so much COOLER. Doesn’t help I use like 7 different titles for it either. We got Deltarune the Chara timeline, Deltarune chara timeline, THE Chara timeline, chara timeline, Ct??? Man,,, I’m crazy. I take after my family so hard. We have 3 names for each of our dogs 💀.

Comic/Animation Tip i have learned. It is VERY GOOD to make the character relatively simple in design. Shape language is also super important, ((but I never really got around to doing that before I was half way through the comic, woops.)) These things can make ur process go by so much faster. This whole comic has been a HUGE learning curve. LIKE OH MY GOD. I had to learn how to draw backgrounds, write dialogue, plan a story, learn how to draw fast and draw noses (which god damn I really still can’t). And I had to learn how the heck to squeeze art into a tiny page and make it not look grainy. It's intense!

Anyways.... this has been such an awesome opportunity! Thanks Toby Fox!

I totally ran out of “art time” for my iPad and wanted to finish this today. So it’s a bit rushed. I’ll add weapons and possibly the other characters later :)

gives it back to you once a week so you can spray your perfume on it. you ended up bringing him a bottle of ur fave brand and he sprays the cologne on it every time he washes it (aka ever fucking week)

mans hooked. to both you and your music

listens to your band’s songs at least once a day. either w/ headphones or on full blast it doesn’t matter

his whole family knows all the lyrics

sometimes tuk comes to his room and jumps on his bed while playing air guitar and he absolutely joins

other times tho he closes his eyes to focus and pays special attention to the guitar while having your smile in mind

he once spent like 2 weeks watching youtube tutorials to (kinda) learn one song so he could play for you

was it good? no it was fucking hideous. was it the sweetest fucking thing ever tho? absolutely it was

always tries to pick you up after band practice

my boy would rather miss his basketball competitions than miss one of your concerts

this one time he actually tried to skip a match bc your performance was at the same time and the mf showed up backstage like “hEy🙂”

there was this one time you couldn’t sleep bc she kept appearing on your mind, so you connected your headphones and made your “ode to kiri”

it was 2am when you vídeocalled her to play for her what you just wrote

and kiri being the sensitive person she is, swore she could feel your affection through the music, little tears threatening to fall from her pretty eyes

it was truly a treasured memory in your relationship

until a loud ass knock on your door and an equally loud “FFS ITS 2AM!!!!!” almost made you drop dead

she absolutely laughed at you btw

he messes up with your amplifier when you practice, turning up and down the volume, the treble, etc. until you throw your pick right into his fucking forehead and he’s like:

the moment he (finally) sits still he actually pays really close attention to how your hands move

cue the dumbest smirk you’ve ever seen

he’d still insist on learning so you two end up having a chick flick moment where you guide him by putting your hands on his

you really don’t have to tell her, she knows they are. bc when you’re up on stage singing abt the perfect girl, you look right at her. and her heart beats faster every time

every time you get in the shower and start humming/singing her phone is ready

I can't help but ask what you were thinking when jrwi asked for you to draw the Galloway map! Were you interested in jrwi at some point :0

[this is gonna be really freaking long and emotional i am so sorry] Dude I was scared shitless.

like back in august when Charlie (and JRWI by proxy) were looking for artists for the BITW coc campaign, I replied under his tweet with my stuff Mainly for funzies (was egged on by moots) thinking he'd never actually pick me (there were SO so many good artists under that post ain't no way...)

.... and then he DID

like I wish I could fully emphasize how much that gig means to me imagine: one of my favourite CCs ever, from one of my favourite podcasts EVER, liked MY art and talked to ME to essentially be an environmental concept artist (which is like.. my dream job btw) for HIS campaign??

my monday afternoon that day exploded

and I felt so bad for him too ttwtt - ok - to Charlie our interactions were probably just like any other time commissioning an artist but for me I was mentally in the TRENCHES (in both a good and terrifying way). For someone with really, really, really horrible social anxiety I'm eternally grateful for his patience putting up with my awkwardness - he is seriously one of the most kindest people in the world ;_;

It was so nice hearing Charlie's ideas for the campaign and letting me build on top of it - it rly shows how important that campaign in particular and dnd as a whole is to him and the rest of the council and I feel so blessed to have been a part of that process >w<

I still have small notes lyin around, I can share small behind the scenes snippets if yall want :>

ngl I was about to apply as the map artist again for the main Riptide campaign but was too busy at the time O(-(

I didn't get to talk to the rest of the boys before, if in the chance we were to cross paths again in the future ever I'd love to work for them again (if I am ever that good to) (if they'd have me)!

As for that second half of your ask anon - wwhwhw yes I am interested in JRWI. Already have been in on Riptide and did some fanart at least but I'm a few episodes behind ahfvlsdkfhvb (somewhere in the 90s also without spoiling someone PLEASE tell me if or if not the mf 7hour long ep 100 is the finale im getting scared).
