#also starting this short little series #which was written by Major Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson #and drawn by Munson Paddock #who drew the unique Mars Mason of the Inter Planet Mail Service stories I read a while ago #my understanding so far is that these blood pearls are influencing the minds of people who come across it #and drives them to do terrible things to obtain the pearls #but that the pearls are only going to bring misfortune for everyone that gets ahold of them #I like how unrealistically long the blood pearls are on the title sections #ominously weaving around the title in the first #and choking a man all on their own in the credits section #and the description on the first page that the pearls ‘gleam and shimmer as though bathed in blood’ #also the two prominent characters in those title sections are actually the two prominent characters in this story #but I’m not sure if they’re actually going to be in all of them #the only constant might be the pearls #dc #the blood pearls #my posts #comic panels #racist caricatures tw #racist stereotyping tw
