Chapter 214 analysis

Like most chapters I have very conflicted on this chapter... i like some of the ideas brought up are dealt with a bit iffy. Nothing is completely terrible and most of it is just very middling.

Now the first thing is probably just something that bothers me and no one else.. so it's really not a big deal but am I the only one that gets annoyed with the panels with the persons mouth wide open. I understand it's supposed to make it look like their talking, but who opens their mouth that wide when speaking?

Next it's a problem not just with this chapter, which is there is repeating frames with little change. Most of the time the repeat frames barely do anything, it sucks cause their is a time this happen in this chapter that is done well. Having a single frame with just thetis does do well to both transition to the other scene and represent minthe leaving thetis life.... tho really... rip to the detailed background... are those supposed to be trees? or just very tall asparagus?

This chapter also have moment where the two frames with same art doesn't work. These scenes aren't emphasizing anything.. nor are they something that couldn't be done with a single frame. We two frames to have hades look worried? It isn't anything that isn't made clear in the upcoming scenes and it really doesn't signal anything to us as the reader that we don't get from anything else. That and sleeping persephone, which is to set up the scene in the bedroom.. but again.. it's nothing that couldn't have been done with the single panel. That along with the large white gapes between panels means that alot of the time there is a sense of time changing between them even if they are just a few seconds apart so having just a small change makes alot of the chapters feel less like a natural progression and more of a slog through.

also side note... the whole scene with hades preparing the breakfast is so sad.. but in a funny way. Like why is the breakfast just a donut.. what the hell did he put in the water (like seriously I feel like I'm missing something and am just an idiot). Along with the fact that hades house is loosing shades of blue each day and slowing becoming the same thing, soon it's just gonna be a single blue colour.

Now to the main points of the chapter, starting with the thetis and minthes conversation... which is ehhhhh. I think it's a good scene but it just... feels lacking for what it's supposed to be. Minthe is a character that was in the story since the beginning and her toxic friendship with thetis was set up so early on.. and the ending is just a calm conversation. It's a similar problem to the kronos fight.. were it just went to easily to be very dramatic and compelling.

Again, why isnt there no dramatics to it. Have Minthe actually consider it for a moment, or maybe agree to her offer to party reflexively before pausing when they are about to leave. It's a problem with alot of the people character arches.. this is supposed to be the big exciting ending of minthe character arch.. and there is nothing to it... There is very little emotions.. have thetis get actually honestly angry, have minthe stand up for herself.. or even a few panels of her being a bit shaken after the conversation.

Just something, anything. to add some honest strong emotions to it, like irl yes this would be the best outcome... but stories are supposed to be dramatized. Minthe looks more bored at this then actually effected, and Thetis looks just mildly annoyed then actually angry.

Though on a more positive note, I love the class for minthe. I think it fits her alot better then any teaching childrens class can go. It takes the minthe teaching other route to something that feels like it actually fits minthes character. It's great choice and I like it for minthe.

Though I think that this desperately shows how much persephone needs a few scenes like this... we are being told she's doing great things, is helping so many people, and is working constantly... but we aren't shown it. Just a few small scenes like this would go along way to actually show it.

Plus, I feel like the chaotic line of flashbacks and current events really are worsening the story. We entered this group of flash backs by seeing Demeter return from earth.. and minthe flashbacks don't start cause of anything to actually do with Demeter? she doesn't go to talk to her... or anything.. and it's just would have done alot better if the flashbacks weren't flashbacks and everything just happened in order.

i will admit that this chapter is the first in awhile that honestly made me feel a bit sad. the.. sort of flashback in the middle of the episode.. which again would be better if just done in order. That shot of Demeter being just full fucking devastated, it's truly heart breaking.

That and this line from persephone is something that just.. feels off. Cause I can see that what rs wants Demeter to be "greiving for the life lost", but like... rs hasn't done the best idea showing that. Most of the time it seems that Demeter is just fucking terrified her daughter is gonna be stuck in an abusive relationship. During the original argument most of her point were about how she think hades is gonna hurt her daughter. Like it really should have been made clear that Demeter had a worry like persephone says.

Another thing that really sucks is how basically no one gives Demeter any support. We see hecate what has been told to be a close friend to demeter having visted her... not give much thought to when told that she's upset. It's basically just "oh damn that's bad for you hades... well anyway lets move on!" The scenes goes from hey demeter is currently really upset... but we gotta make sure is everything is ready for Persephone. There is little to no actual worry for Demeter or her feelings.. it always circles back to how either hades or persephone is feeling.

Lastly I think that lore olympus best plots are the character focused ones, kronos was probably the lowest point in the story cause there was no building up. The best points were the ones around Persephone dealing with the stress of her life with some fantasy elements tied into them. I do think continuing to explore the kronos part is... alright but i have very little trust that it'll be done well.

Also like... this is the worst cliff hanger yet. "we need to go talk to my father" proceeds to not talk to his father for at least three episodes... like come one man.. could have at least looked had a scene were they talk to kronos and he doesn't say anything.

im gonna rant a lil about genshin's "diversity" in the playable characters cause i realized the problem goes beyond there being very few characters with darker skin (though i honestly only consider xinyan and kaeya to ACTUALLY have dark skin -- xinyan's skin tone is actually very similar to mine)

all of the characters with darker skin (except kaeya) aren't really meta and their kits are either dysfunctional or someone does the job better. xinyan has the split scaling, cyno is considered underwhelming (tho again, i'm pretty sure quickbloom is his best team), candace's kit is a bit weird but still functional, but now dehya is a mess.

and tbh this feels more like a genshin problem, which is... weird. in honkai, i think i told you that there is one playable character who is black (though her skin tone is more like cyno/candace's. xinyan, who is not canonically black, has darker skin than the canon black girl 💀) she is a physical support who specializes in breaking shields. though she can be replaced, she is the best at what she does and, if you need a shield breaker, carole's most likely your gal.

it feels so weird how genshin is based off of real-life, yet it can't even represent all the characters somewhat equally in the meta/gameplay. this makes me worried for natlan tbh :/ i don't have much hope for that nation in terms of playable characters. it's kind of a stupid move on hoyo's part to mess up most of sumeru, when they decided which region it would be based on.

sorry for the rant. i just wanted to say it for someone KJGSEKJG

no cuz literally. ever since the sumeru leaks the question on my mind has always been 'are they TRYING to sabotage their OWN characters????' but i guess racism and colourism will make people act like idiots 👍🏽 even weirder considering the entire sumeru plot was about the oppression and discrimination of the desert folk who largely are shown to have darker skin than their forest counterparts. its like theres no communication between the character designers and story writers which... you know. makes sense actually.

kit functionality is another thing though. genshin has more underwhelming characters than xinyan and dehya and candace, and the concept of meta characters has always been iffy. cyno is absolutely good on his own and kaeya has story relevancy and hes also a good unit, people just like to complain. it does feel to me like, as the character roster grows, the less the devs know what to do with the playable ones lol

but absolutely keep ur expectations for natlan VERY low LMAO. they might take inspiration from latin american countries but ultimately theyre a chinese game dev studio who have to cater to chinese and white audiences first and foremost, considering those are always the biggest sources of revenue for everything that isnt contained within national borders. and unfortunately the husbandos and waifus who sell well are always the fair skinned characters lol

Interesting question! and yes I do! it's really hard sometimes because a post I put a lot of effort into won't get a lot of attention but a post I dont really care for will get lots of attention. Personally it's something that I've always kinda dealt with.

it's SUPER addicting to look at notes and comments. It's too easy to bace your arts worth on notes and such.

the feeling comes and goes. I've dealt with it by I looking back at how I felt about getting notes when I first started posting. I used it get super excited over just 5 likes but sometimes it's not that helpful.Sometimes I try not to look. it's tempting and I'm always worried that I'm ignoring asks or questions. Sometimes I post something that won't get a lot of attention on purpose just to mess around and find out lol.

the best way I've delt with it is by occupying my brain with something else after posting, like going back to drawing or playing a game. just not being on my phone (cause that's where I have Tumblr.)

to be honest it's something thats super hard to get over and I don't have all the answers. I wish you the best and I hope this type of thing dosent plague you too much tho <3

i am an artist. i draw things and sometimes animate things. this blog will also probably contain a lot random ass posts from me. like project designs and stuff, this'll be sort of like an art journal for me.

what kind of stuff do you draw?

i draw a lot of different things. im a huge bandom fan, i'm in tons of diffferent fandoms for bands, mainly my chemical romance. most of the art that i post on social platforms are rough sketches and 'memes'? if that makes sense. i do create official works and have done so for a while, they just aren't as frequent as i'd like them to be.

any warnings/other things we should know before following?

mostly just profanity warnings as in language, blood and gore might be present sometimes but not always. my art changes a lot, like a lot a lot, including my style and colouring patterns, so not everything i do is in concrete. thats why i dont usually make official pieces of work. i love experimenting with my work :)

Animal Crossing - the last video game I played - I didn’t grow up playing video games other than what my dad would install on the home PC (and it was Doom and Prince of Persia, lol - I still remember them fondly). Yep, I was a child in a post-Soviet country!Thus, as an adult, when I tried my hand with a controller, shocking to no one, I was completely unable to use one, and that really dampens the desire to play.

However, I do enjoy watching my husband play video games, lol, though I’m very picky about those. The last one I thoroughly enjoyed being a backseat driver for was “God of War”!

Blush - favourite season and why. I think I appreciate every season, if not every month of the year, tho iffy that hadn’t always been the case. Where I am in Canada, autumn is gorgeous, absolutely stunning, until the second half of November hits and I want to say it starts to feel barren and maudlin.

Likewise, winter can be lovely, too, except for times like this year when WIARTON WILLIE THE GROUNDHOG LIED and claimed that it would be an early spring but it wasn’t, was it, Willie? Rascal. It was that extra prolonged wait that was a bit of a killer.

However, I would say that having a dog that is unabashedly a winter breed, and in general who is so active that three hours of walks a day is his norm has forced me to go past being picky about seasons.

It may be silly but I want to appreciate all weather kind of like my dog - any day is a lovely day to be outside.

Pets: None :'( The last year is the first one since I've been born that I haven't had cats or dogs. It's been a rough year for many reasons but that's a big one. I do have a cat-on-loan-as-a-pet tho, and she's been a life saver.

Favourite food: Depends on my mood really. I love dishes from many different cuisines, but I prefer things on the spicy side.

Coke or Pepsi: Coke. I am a purist, so Original Coke. Preferably in glass bottles when I can have it. Idc what anyone says, it makes a difference to the taste!

Day or night: Day. Dawn and Dusk are my favourite times, tho me being up by dawn regularly is a bit iffy.

Chapstick or Lipstick: Vaseline. I've had the same old pocket Vaseline tin since I was a kid, and it's gone all over the world with me and been refilled countless times. I don't like things with added smell or taste, generally. If it needs to be a tube, like if I'm wearing gloves, I use Anatomicals Stop Cracking Up Lip Balm.

Text or Call: Text only. Calls only with a select few people. I truly DESPISE communicating over tech.

"Are your requests open?" Yes usually! If not I will specifically state in my bio that they are closed. This will only happen if I am too busy with life, losing interest or away from proper internet connection.

I can write Polyamorous ships! As someone who is Polya, I'd be happy to!

This blog will be primarily composed of x readers, headcanons, maybe a few series and quick one-shot fics.

As of right now, I currently write for MCYT, RWBY and Seven Deadly Sins (Bit rusty tho so some things may be off).

I HEAVILY PREFER TO WRITE FEMALE READERS AND GN READERS. I have gotten told many times that my male reader fics are way too feminine so. This being said, there is a high chance that my GN stories may have some female pronouns sprinkled in by accident. I write many stories at once, so that's why. Please just send me an ask and be nice about it.

For future reference, I will not write anything that the mcyt creators are uncomfortable with. Such as shipping Ranboo, Tubbo or Tommy with anyone. MAJORITY OF MY FICS WILL BE IN THE DREAMSMP AU UNLESS STATED.

Please do not ask me to write for your OC or ask me to give the reader a specific description. That makes it no longer a reader and instead an OC. Although, if you give me a certain trait to write the story around, that is allowed. (i.e: reader with heterochromia/ two different colour eyes, certain hybrids, etc.)

I often forget TWs, which if I do for something severe please remind me, but I will NOT label everything. Such as saying "TW: Swears" in a Tommyinnit fic. We all know it's gonna happen. If you need a TW for that, watch a different streamer m8.

I love my angst.

Please. When giving requests, to make my life much easier, BE SPECIFIC. Headcanons or fic? Platonic or romantic? Content creator or Character? Dream SMP Au or another Au?

If I learn that one of my fics involves something that makes a creator uncomfortable, I will remove the fic.

MY PREFERENCE ON WRITING EACH CHARACTER

Tommyinnit, Ranboo and Tubbo - 7/10 not my favourite characters but I have gotten used to writing them. Strictly Platonic CC and VERY EXTREMELY light romance in character. (i.e: No kissing or saying ily, but cuddling/hugging/holding hands is okay.)

Dream, Bad, Schlatt, Eret - 7/10 I believe I can write them decently. This being said I don't have much experience. Schlatt is platonic out of character I believe? But because I'm not sure, I'm not taking risks.

George - 1/10 I don't really like George, in character and the streamer... He's too plain for me and I don't think I would be able to write a good story for him.

Technoblade, Ghostbur - 9/10 I love these men, lmao. Techno's hella fun to write and Ghostbur is literally an angst-loaded bullet pointed at someone's head. Out of character Techno is strictly platonic and will rarely be written.

Sapnap, Karl, Sam/Warden Sam, Fundy, Niki, Puffy - 4/10 I don't know them that well to be honest..??? But I do like their characters, so I will write them if requested to. Just give me a bit of time.

Philza - 10/10 LET ME WRITE THIS MAN I LOVE HIM. Out of character is also strictly platonic.

Wilbur - 5/10 I haven't really focused on Wilbur? I joined the fandom shortly after he lost his last canon life so. This being said, I do enjoy what I've read about him.

Quackity, Ponk, Purpled - 1/10 I don't know them and don't really watch their streams. Sorry.

I will not write: Non-con, incest, underage relationship, etc. Basic knowledge here.

Things I can write but need to be specified. Will be updated.

Depression is a common plot, and I can write it, but see the suicidal tendencies are iffy here. Some things I will write are "how would ___ react after their death" but won't specify it as suicide. Another very very iffy topic is self-harm. I won't write it actually being done. I can write "___ seeing scars/marks" but that's pretty much it.

The Mandalorian Chapter 13 reactions

Well, that was... well. in short I quite enjoyed some of what happened while din was there and I didn’t really care about what happened while he wasn’t there lol. I think it’s becoming increasingly clear that I just don’t care for the episodes dave filoni writes for this show, which is simply a matter of taste I guess.

(if you loved this episode wholeheartedly -- probably look away now, I’m going to be a bit of a downer about it and I don’t want to shit on your joy haha)

- let’s just get this out of the way first: there’s a lot of stuff around rosaria dawson and transphobia in real life and yeah, of course that affects how I watch the show. I don’t even want to talk that much about ahsoka in this because of it. she was not that good in the role, after seeing how it played out I don’t think the character needed to be in this show at all, and she should never have gotten the role in the first place and that’s about it for what I’ve got to say.

- dave filoni consistently does things with din’s characterization that feels off and weird to me, subtly out of place with what we see in other episodes (he’s... ruder? more short tempered/cocky/actively or aggressively interpersonal? more prone to express himself directly than he is usually? idk how to describe it but filoni!din always feels one step to the left of what he should be and I’m so hyper-attuned to this character that when something’s a bit iffy with him it throws everything else off haha. it feels like a shallower, more convenient read on him and I don’t like it)

I also think filoni is almost too familiar with and in love with the source material sometimes? “A Mandalorian and a Jedi? They’ll never see it coming” is undeniably a great line that echoes in decades of deep lore and so on, but dave my good man din had no real idea what a jedi even is until literally this morning. we, the audience, know about this long and storied history, but unless ahsoka spent the afternoon explaining it to him din still only knows the faint outlines of it, he has no personal experience of or attachment to it. it’s not bad, as such, it just rings false to the character based tone of the show for me personally

- positivity break: baby sitting perched on the dashboard to be close to papa while they’re in hyperspace........sd sdfskdjhfdsakjksdhfkasjd

also this is some full on madonna and child in the manger shit and I am LIVING for it (odds he’s crying quietly behind the helmet here? pretty damn good if you ask me). the mundanity of what’s essentially the shitty spartan bathroom of the razor crest on one side contrasted with the light and tenderness and love on the other? amazing, a perfect microcosm of what this show does with combining the grittier everyday down to earth stuff in the star wars universe with myth and wonder and magic and through it elevating both

- the idea of having an iconique samurai/sword duel standoff and a western standoff going on simultaneously is genuinely inspired, but in action it didn’t really work for me. (the sword duel stuff needs these moments of stillness with sudden outbursts of violence and then stillness again, the western standoff needs mounting tension until it’s nearly unbearable, and cutting between them the way they did you sort of didn’t get either to its full potential. again it’s a cool idea, though, I hope someone picks it up and does it better at some point)

- seeing a jedi and a mandalorian wander together through a burned out wasteland left desolate by greed and warfare should have hit me harder than it did but for some reason it didn’t, idk. thematically sound, though, I like it a lot on the metaphor level

- I LOVE that pure beskar makes a specific sound, and that it’s an almost ethereal noise like the high clear chime of a distant bell. also now din has something to fight light sabers with that isn’t the dark saber which makes me so happy because you guys I do not want him to be the mand’alor. keep that funky laser sword away from my dad, apart from killing him at the end that is literally the most boring way to end his arc pls do NOt

- wow they really went in hard on the samurai stuff in this one huh! there is a part of my mchanzo-loving heart that thrives on seeing a space cowboy and a space samurai team up, *wild otp-fuelled whisper* they’re twin genres inextricably entwined okay they belong together if you see this spreadsheet I’ve made over here --

- even knowing it was just a trick I felt such intense distress seeing the signet pauldron away from din. like the attachment I have to these pieces of metal because That Armour Means Dad... wild

- they really chose the dumbest name possible for the baby huh fsajdfhsaj I agree with din his name is ‘kid’ now (eh just give me a while to get used to it probably I’ll come around)

also... you know what I’ve said before about shrinking the big unknowable galaxy ‘the mandalorian’ has been setting up? wow did they do that big time in this one, and it makes me feel decidedly :/. why does the baby have to come from the jedi temple, is there truly no other tradition of force users in the entire galaxy he could be from? WHY do you have to pull thrawn into this when most people watching this show won’t even know why he’s such a big deal? is this a stealth tease for a rebels sequel? if so why spend an entire episode of this show that only gets eight precious episodes a season on it??

- on a more fun positive note: baby’s clothes are clean again, so it’s confirmed that din does wash them (and I guess that he does have some means of washing clothes aboard the razor crest!). I loved... most of the dad and baby stuff in this one, but then don’t I always I’m easy to please that way haha (the ‘playing catch’ sequence felt a bit off to me but I don’t know why. din being like ‘he’s so stubborn’ wasn’t... eh. didn’t land right. “that would be a first” was fun tho lol)

- having ahsoka state the baby’s feelings out loud like that felt... weird? and also kind of unnecessary in parts, like yeah he’s a baby who’s been passed along to different groups of strangers and experimented on by empire scientists, you don’t need to spell it out for me that he’s been scared and lonely, or at least spell it out more interestingly? it’s such blunt force storytelling where it didn’t need to be? there are more elegant ways to get the same things across, I am absolutely convinced

- ...wow while I was watching the episode I was mostly like ‘okay this is Fine I can go along with it’ but seeing what I’m thinking about in hindsight... yeah probably my least favourite episode of this show full stop haha, it took the spot from chapter 5 which was also a filoni ep

- I did 100% genuinely adore the whole part of din approaching the town and meeting the magistrate. consistently hiding the baby behind his cape and his arm? being deliberately, teeth-grindingly dispassionate with everyone, just giving them nothing? getting to see a bit of professional bounty hunter din again? wonderful in every way, I love this man

- lots of meaningful shots of baby in the middle with a mando on one side and a jedi on the other, it’s almost like they’re setting up some Themes here lol

- ...do you think din told ahsoka about either the rhino-levitating or the force choking. because girl I don’t think not training him is going to make this just go away haha, he just won’t know what he’s doing

- it makes me so sad that baby connects his force powers with being abused :( (also a heartbreaking sign of just how much he cared about din from the very beginning, since he used it on the mudhorn to save him anyway ;________; was that like. literally the first time he sensed kindness and affection in anyone in like twenty five years or... )

- I understand why ahsoka would feel this way because of her past and specific traumas, but tbh attachment in a baby? probably a good thing, he doesn’t really have the higher brain functions to cultivate non-attachment yet and needs a safe figure because again. he is a baby.

good on her for realizing it’s not a task she can take on both for the baby’s sake and her own, and also that din is that baby’s Dad though. the way she smiled at the end watching them leave seemed vaguely hopeful/had a little bit of wonder in it, like maybe she felt the potential for something good there, something she couldn’t conceptualize from her background but could sense the tentative outlines of anyway?

(also so much pressure on a lil bb to decide his path... his dilemmas should be limited to what colour socks he wants to wear today not the course of his entire life :( I know he’s a magic baby but.......)

- idk maybe I’ll find more affection of this episode through rewatches, you never know

Favourite Zoophobia Ships???

Hey... guess who decided to do some Zoophobia related posts bc I haven’t done any... in months? Ah well, might as well. This is going to be mostly just a fun post, just talking about what ZP ships I enjoy most, in no particular order.

However !

After this, I’m considering redoing some of the top five lists I made 2 years ago. So, feel free to let me know which I should do!

List is under cut bc I type a bunch

1. Kayla x Zill

I tend to just follow along with ships that are canon. Unless it’s particularly unhealthy or poorly written, my brain just goes “oh, they dating? Ok cool.”

And you know what? These two are adorable. I will say that I enjoyed these two together in Bad Luck Jack better than in the comic. In the comic, we get thrown into their relationship drama way too fast. We aren’t even given a proper introduction to Kayla before chapter 2! I get that maybe the intent was to show how much Kayla and Zill care about each other, and showing them having relationship troubles could show them in a vulnerable, emotional state. We could get some good character stuff from that! But, it really doesn’t give your power couple a good look when they’re already having issues by chapter 2.

Bad Luck Jack did a much better job at not only portraying their relationship, but their dynamic was much more interesting. We actually got to see Kay’s more badass side, and we got more than just them doing boring kissy kissy, omg I love you sooo much, which was a lot of what we got in the comic. I’m actually excited to see more of these two in the future.

2. Addi x Gustav

I have to admit, I’m not as big of a fan of this ship as other people are. The main reason is Gustav. I’m sure the story will provide more depth for him in the future, and I’m sure we’ll get a bunch of adora-gay moments with him and Addi. But as it stands, I’m not quite ready to hop on board.

I also found the way they hooked up in the comic to be a little boring? To sum up their first interaction, it’s more or less “hey bby boi, u be looking real fine across the room, tell me bout that sexy art piece” “oh damn, u be looking like a tall glass of grape juice, cute mode activated- holy fuck Kenzie why????”

Basically, they both find each other good looking, and decide to go to lunch after they establish that Addi is the soft boi that need protecc and that Gustav attaccc. It’s a cute ship, yeah. Not my favourite, tho, and I’m going to need more on purple’s end before I cannonball in

3. Jack x Zill and Jack x Jill

These two I’m grouping together bc I feel the same way about both. Like with the previous, I like these ships, would definitely read fan fiction, but I’m not super on board with... well, with a lot of ships with Jack?

It’s not that I think he shouldn’t be in the relationship, but I find that a lot of ships have Jack being really dependent on whoever he’s with, and since his situation will inevitably cause a good amount of drama, a lot of the time the other person in the relationship kinda disappears.

This is entirely something that’s my preference in stuff like this, but I prefer ships where it doesn’t just become all about one character, and that everyone in the relationship is given a chance to be supportive and emotionally invest. And again, I feel like ships with Jack don’t usually give him the chance to emotionally invest to the same extent as the other people in the relationship.

That being said, I don’t dislike these ships, and they’re still cute as fuck.

4. Autumn x Rusty

Firstly, I love how this is a ship where almost everyone in the fandom can look at each other, nod, and say “oh we know it’s gonna happen”

I mean, let’s not kid ourselves, we all love an enemies to lovers story, and I’m sure quite a few of us can project ourselves onto someone like Rusty who “totally isn’t gay/bi/pan/you get what I mean!” I’m normally a little iffy about the idea of “oh he’s bullying you bc he likes you!”, but fortunately it seems like Rusty and Autumn don’t entirely fit that trope. There’s not much to say here, tbh. I will say that my favourite thing with this ship is when they’re drawn/written in a situation where one or more other characters are like “omg, just fuck already!”

5. Ink x Mistletoe

Congrats to anyone who knows these characters

This is absolutely a crack ship for me. I just like the idea of someone who lives a sad life like Ink having someone as silly and wonky as Mistletoe around. That’s basically it XD sue me!

6. Damian x Addi and Damian x Ink

Again, I feel the same about these two ships. They’re cute, and I would absolutely read the fan fiction. My main draw back, however, is that these two ships are ones I have to be in the mood for. These two ships, especially Damian x Ink , can quickly become depressing. And while sometimes I’m all for that, most of the time I rather read something a bit lighter

7. Elijah x Damian

I guess these two have accidentally became my favourite??? I certainly enjoy stuff with this ship the most, and even though we admittedly haven’t seen much of Eli yet, I’m already on board.

Firstly, I just like the premise of the fucking Antichrist hooking up with a pink hipster snake who’s a waiter at a 50s diner. The idea alone is just amusing to me, and it’s weird enough that I already like it.

I also like the overall chaotic, mutual dumbass energy these two give off together. They’re both comic loving, unserious goofballs and I can absolutely see them sharing a total of one brain cell. Even the image of the two of them side by side is just amusing to me, bc we have tall, pink and Christmasy coloured Eli next to the smoller, edgier Dame. Even looking at sketches of them interacting, they both look just plain silly

Finally, however, what I think really got me on board was the irony of the situation. Damian, as we know, crushes super hard on Kayla and some other characters, and will go to unnecessary lengths to impress them. Meanwhile, as he’s desperately trying to get others to like him, there’s Eli. Someone who’s already attracted to him, and is right there. And who already seems to have a lot in common with him, and given how he’s apparently shy around people he likes, it must be obvious to someone what’s going on.

It’s like “omg, why are all the hot people taken???” “I AM RIGHT HERE!” “ Did u say something?”

So... yeah.

And there you go. I’ll probably update later with more ships, but this post is already long

Thanks for the ask, Pinky! apparently my brain has decided “gush” means “throw lots of random fun facts at everyone” today so here we go! Here’s your favourite tomato gal! :3

-She and Saarai were always twins and I’d always intended for them to be close, and the bare-bones basic premise of how I wanted their relationship to work was “Saarai is the brawn and Kas is the brains”. While this is still true, it did evolve ever so slightly in that Saarai is now also the (more reliable) moral compass. Kas isn’t particularly Dark-sided, but she’s not Light-sided either, she’s inherited a lot more of mom’s “I will do what I have to to get a job done even if that means I have to kill a bitch” attitude XD

-When I first came up with the idea for the twins, Kas’s name was originally going to be “Jen” which is the High Sith word for “hidden, or in shadow” (”Saarai” is the High Sith word for “Truth”, for reference ;) ) ; so their names joined together would have meant “Hidden Truth”. I don’t remember where Ni’kasi came from because it isn’t an “actual” Sith word nor does it have particular meaning (though I might try to make one up, we’ll see :P), but the very first time I went to write down solid bios for them I ended up writing “Ni’kasi” instead of “Jen” for her and it’s stuck ever since then.

-Initially, Kas’s colour pallette was a lot lighter, which you can see in all of her screenshots up till now (cause I forgot to change her when I changed the design earlier this year oops :’D) and also in this art piece I ordered of her last year, here:

and the twins were very darn near close to being identical, but I decided that I actually rather liked their dad’s more purple-ish skintone earlier this year and that it was a shame neither of the twins looked a bit more like him, so I changed Kas up a bit and gave her dad’s skintone, jaw spurs and eye colour. She’s got mom’s red-tinted hair and (mostly) mom’s ridge/browstalk structure though :D

-Great with her own kids and direct blood relatives (e.g. nieces, nephews, grandchildren), but kinda iffy with other, random children. She won’t hurt them but she’s very much D’leah’s child in that respect, she’s very “Sith-y”, and liable to be abrasive, unsympathetic and so on. Generally not the sort of presence you’d want around your kids... there will definitely be tears hahahaha

-The scar on her eye was originally going to be caused by D’leah in the same fight that she gets Saarai’s nose, when Ni’kasi got between them to try and break up the scuffle, but I retconned that instead when I re-thought some stuff about that so now she gets it from the Inquisitors after they figure out who killed Ty’s dad and come after them.

-This is also how Kas ends up in the slave pens, after they kill D’leah they throw Ni’kasi into slavery (which is a bit of plot armour/oversight on the Inquisitors part, I admit but shhh XD) and figure y’know “she’s never gonna get out of there again”. A lot can happen, and be forgotten, in 60 odd years tho so eventually they do throw her back into the Academy much to Kas’s surprise.

-She has a lot more scars other than the one on her eye, just that most of them are on her back, or the back of her neck, so you generally can’t see them (I haven’t drawn a scar ref for her yet, it is also on the to-do list lol)

And we random-rolled Aria for this one, so more Tiny Sith nonsense!

-Aria’s hairstyle and general appearance actually came about because it was based on my second-favourite “portrait” choice for the PC in KOTOR II. She wasn’t how I saw my version of the Exile looking, but I really liked the design (including the little blonde fringe streak) so I decided I wanted to do something with it! <3

-We don’t get to see it much because usually when I draw her she’s back with the Sith and fully into the “Dark side” portion of her story and therefore her eyes are amber, but here you go, a nice glimpse of Aria’s natural eye colour! As mentioned on Myla’s ask, she has heterochromia as well, though her grey is “lighter” than Myla’s as she inherited the grey from dad and the brown from mom (yes I know technically it doesn’t work like that but basically I couldn’t decide which one I liked better so instead of agonising over the choice I went “one of each, problem solved” XD)

-Aria was actually the very first SWTOR-era OC I made, very closely followed by her dad, Roan, and then Vano, then her mom when I worked on her backstory, and followed by everyone else haha. I created her for an RP on an RP site that got a couple of posts in and then died/my partner ghosted me for whatever reason (I’ve never found out nor does it matter really), I was disappointed because I really liked Aria and didn’t get to “do much” with her, so I recycled her when another RP popped up, used that to build her backstory and prompt me to start the Subterfugeverse and then threw her into the Zephyrverse AU RP with my buddy k-christine once she got back in touch and we started RPing again :D -Aria gave me the most trouble (other than maybeee Saarai) in terms of finally nailing down what her sexuality was. I had no idea what she’d be at all when I first made her, other than I knew this binch wasn’t straight hahaha. So first, I defaulted her to bi, but then that didn’t seem to fit her much (I didn’t know pansexuality was a thing at the time), then during my self-projection phase I considered leaving her as just a lesbian but she wasn’t happy with that either and eventually I figured out pan is a thing and she started jumping up and down and screaming HELLO YEAH THAT ONE!! at me. The only thing that was for sure obvious to me was that she’s demiromantic, because while she can get around and doesn’t care who with (insert “will fuck anything (humanoid) with a pulse” joke here), the romantic feelings often attached to that for other people take a long time to develop for Aria.

helo beloved mutual connor, im sorry ur goin thru it rn but i come bearing asks n a heart emoji (💗): bcuz i have had this thought floatin around for a lil bit, wld love 2 hear ur takes on an Adam/Eric/Mallick (+ Art too if u want!) road trip vacation! how long wld they go, do they get motels or camp or just sleep in th car? whats everyone's favorite road trip snack? what sorta shit do they like 2 stop for? (weird tourist traps like giant balls of yarn etc, small town main street stores, cool looking restaurants, nature sites, Actual Destinations, so on n so forth!)

ohhh I love tht idea!! road trip fics/hcs are one of my weaknesses,,

but um!! I rly like the idea of th four of them going camping a few hours up north!! (we... don't rly know where. SAW is set so just. imagine a vaguely rural campground lmao. I'm used to camping in th upper peninsula of MI so) it's smth tht Art did a lot w his family when he was growing up, so he's th most familiar w it - Eric went a few times as a kid too, Mallick went Once, n Adam has never rly been camping, w his family or otherwise (he's slept on a trampoline at one of his friends' houses once tho). Art is p excited abt it tbh, it's not exactly smth he gets 2 do often so he's got this whole list planned of things he wants 2 show them!!

it's easiest 2 just take a week in late August, bc they can head back home on a Friday n have the weekend to settle n readjust b4 th coming week + they have to go back 2 work. so they head out around ten on a Monday morning 2 kind of get ahead of th traffic (or at least try to). Art drives both bc he insists and bc he knows they can switch if he needs to, which he does later w Eric. it's a good couple hours (at least 3) b4 they get 2 th campground Art wants to take them to, so clearly it is Music Time + Adam made sure 2 bring CDs! a lot of that time is just spent vibing 2 th music and singing very, very loudly (ESP on Adam + Mallick's end). Art's up front like u three are so fucking goofy (affectionate), but eventually he starts singing too lmao.

Mallick starts th Colour Game, where they try 2 find a car fr every colour of th rainbow. it's smth Eric is familiar w as well bc he used 2 play it w Daniel sometimes, and it's good until they come to purple bc how often do u see purple cars??? so Adam's just like "we're not gonna find pink either" n tht's when this fucking pink pickup truck (noticeably spray-painted, + not done well) passes them n Adam just groans n thumps his head against th window. Mallick is like, trying rly hard not to laugh by pressing a hand over his mouth + Art is biting his lip, but Eric is very openly cackling bc "u see what happens when u assume???" (he gets a very light slap 2 th shoulder but it's still very gentle)

ANYWAY. favourite snacks!! Adam can eat Way Too Many Sour Patch Kids. sour anything, actually, as long as it's candy. yes his tongue hurts and no he doesn't regret it. Eric just gets goldfish bc he tends 2 get a lil carsick + bc it's a food tht's familiar n comforting, n he doesn't rly want 2 be eating anything Too heavy (he's up front w Art, so he can sit by a window in case he needs some fresh air at any point). Mallick likes m&m's, but he switches fr cheez-its every once in a while bc he can only eat so much chocolate. Art likes those peanut-butter filled pretzel bites! he's also partial 2 animal crackers tho. they also bring a good amount of snacks/things they can b sure th four of them like, bc yeah there's a lil store abt a half hour away frm their campsite + they can go there to pick up things if they need 2, but it's easier 2 bring things they like, too. (there's also a mcdonald's in tht town n. they do go there at LEAST twice.)

th campsite they stay at has a lake + a beach, n one of Art + Adam's fave things 2 do is walk along it to see if they can find anything interesting! Mallick goes sometimes too, but mostly he stays w Eric bc Eric can't do tht fr as long as Adam + Art can (not tht he's resentful of it tho). he n Mallick chill on th beach w a blanket (it's kind of like. not necessarily sandy?) n just kinda sit against/lay on each other n read sometimes. Adam + Art come back 2 where they're set up to find them sleeping n Adam has never been more thankful he thought 2 bring his camera!!

on th second day Art + Mallick want 2 go swimming, so th four of them come back out to th beach, but Adam stays out of th water + Eric stays w him. they both know th water will be cold, even if it's late summer, n Adam rly doesn't like being in cold water ESP if it's over his head/he can't touch th bottom. fr Eric th cold can b kind of painful, so they chill n walk along th beach fr a little bit n just talk. Adam gets some good pictures n even gets some of Eric! he also does take a selfie of them, he can't help it. he gets a couple of Mallick + Art too. it's honestly such a nice thing fr them n it just feels like they can breathe easy, not having 2 worry abt looking over their shoulders constantly (tho they're all getting better abt that).

th third day they spend around th campsite to kind of unwind n relax. they might walk th beach a little bit again, but mostly they just sorta chill n walk some of th trails around the campground itself. when night falls they light a small bonfire (Mallick is still iffy around fire, understandably) n they sit around it in their folding chairs w th cupholders (Adam gets red, Eric has green, Art gets blue, + Mallick gets dark green) n make s'mores. they talk abt anything n everything until they're barely able 2 keep their eyes open, n then after making sure th fire is pretty much out they kinda just stumble into th tent n none of them r awake for very long after (they specifically got one tht cld comfortably hold th four of them).

fourth day!! they pack up n head into another little town about 45 minutes away; it's bigger than th one around th campgrounds. after they get situated in a motel room w two beds, they do some window shopping + going into lil stores that interest them! Adam def buys some niche graphic tees tht aren't going 2 make sense to anyone other than th four of them n he's delighted abt it. I like 2 think Eric gets a worry stone, specifically made out of rose quartz. Mallick too, but his is made of amethyst! he also gets a rly cool multicoloured jacket in a thrift store they duck into. Art gets a hoodie w th town's name on it n he's pretty happy w that. they get a few more lil things, just little knick-knacks while they're there, n then they have dinner in this lil diner they'd walked past earlier bc it's inexpensive + the atmosphere is very lowkey n honestly just Nice. there's not a bunch of ppl, the servers r rly kind n the lights aren't too bright, which Eric rly appreciates. it's such a tender moment bc they're squeezed into a booth, Adam + Mallick on one side n Art + Eric on th other, n they're talking n laughing n stealing bites of each other's food n it's Comfortable.

then they head back to th motel n channel surf while unpacking enough 2 get to their sleep clothes. Adam + Eric r sharing a bed n Art + Mallick r sharing th other one, tho Adam is very tempted 2 just push them together so they're all close by (th distance btwn th beds isn't tht big to begin with, but it's the principle of th thing). mostly tho, until they go to bed, they're pretty much just all stretched out Everywhere. Adam is only discouraged frm jumping across th divide btwn th beds bc Art breaks out his Lawyer Voice, despite trying rly hard not to laugh, to say Yr Going To Hurt Yrself, Don't Do That. he grumbles n whines abt it but Adam knows he's right jdhjks (th way he sees it is like. he can b silly sometimes. he's Earned It, but he also trusts Art + wasn't super serious abt tht idea). eventually tho Eric can hardly keep his eyes open n Mallick is just straight up asleep while he's still sitting up so tht's when they all go to bed after making sure every1 is comfortable. they leave a lamp on.

fifth day they pack everything up again n stop 2 walk th trails of this lil park b4 they head home! there's a lil shop near th parking lot so they spend a lil bit of time looking around in there first. they probably pick up a few lil things, souvenirs, n Adam walks around 2 get some pictures. he gets this rly cool one while they're on a bridge, th sun peeking thru the clouds a lil bit n shining down on th water. he's super excited to develop tht one (but he's excited to develop All of them, bc this is his family!!!) + he n Art discuss whether or not they're gonna need another cork board lol. eventually tho they round back to th parking lot n on th way home, they stop at another lil hole-in-th-wall kind of place, but it's just as nice as the first one they'd been to. after tht Eric switches spots w Art n he drives them home!!

they're all exhausted when they get back but they have room to crash w each other while they nap so tht's what they do. they fall asleep all tangled together, Art stretched out w Eric's head on his chest, Adam curled against Eric's back, n Mallick w his head on Art's stomach. there r arms n legs everywhere n tht is okay. they're happy. they love each other. they had a lot of fun on their trip n they're tired, but they're comfortable!! tht's what it's all abt!!! it's just such a good n relaxing experience fr them after all th shit they've been thru.
