She brought the ship to safety and the next morning Seafoam crawls out into the deck and pulls himself over the railing to look around. All bruised and cracked from being thrown about the ship all night <XDD

That's when their eyes meet.. she tells Seafoam the story of how she saved his ship. And Seafoam is endlessly grateful! He was so kind and genuine.. 💞

As for Morton, I think his skin color will be a simple case of melanism! Nothing too crazy or magical there! <XDD As for his name and how he talks, I think its a reasonable idea that he would be named after a previous king! :0 Perhaps a previous king who had melanism as well..? 👀 Who knows XD

Though with his voice, I cant imagine him talking all "hulk" like. Since he's a part of the royal family he would have access to only the best education and speech therapy (if needed-). So the likelihood of any of the Koopalings having speech problems or talking "hulk" like would be low 😅 though that's not to say that out of all his siblings, he leans towards that type of speech the most! :00

As for Kammy and Kamek, she's not nearly as old as him. I was thinking Kamek is hundreds of years old, while Kammy is the Koopa equivalent of like... 60-70? She was brought into the koopa palace to be a nanny/maid. Her power is different from Kamek's, though I haven't figured out all the specifics yet.. I guess it can be said that when it comes to magic, they both studied and mastered different things.

Now if she ever faced Kamek in combat? He would flatten her. There is no Magikoopa alive today that can compare to Kamek's power..

...Doesn't mean she's afraid to get on his nerves though XDD She loves to mess with him, knowing that he's not allowed to hurt her.🤪

And lastly, its interesting to hear about the Vehicons getting some more originality! :00 My favorite out of those 3 would have to be the red one :}}

My first instinct was no.. since Jangles is like 2.5-3 feet tall and I always imagined sans to be 4.5-5 feet tall. But google says sans 2 feet tall??? XDD If we're going by Googles standards then yeah Jangles is taller- but my heart dont want to believe he's that short 🤣💀

As for the 20k post, Jangles wasn't holding anything other than Gerald.. so I assume you meant this post..? <:0 If so, its a granola bar! Its been most if my diet recently so I imagine I had a few extra lying around for Jangles <XDD

Summary: In a universe where you are bound to one another by some circumstance, what might your soulmate think upon your first meeting?

Notes: For this, I'm assuming you mean like soulmate AUs?? Like y'know, red string of fate, time stops once you meet them, etc. Also, I thought the last one with Alois was a bit ooc..? This one is probably worse, and I finished the last half of so on my phone. Some AU prompts//ideas sourced from this post.

Ciel

AU: You get flowered tattoos wherever your soulmate receives a scar.

☆ "Ah! Not again.." You spoke aloud to yourself in the Phantomhive Manor's garden, wiping off your clothing. The scrape on your knee would be visible to the Earl if he had seen you, not to mention your clumsiness that was unsuitable for a noble. You had merely tripped and fallen over a stone slightly out of it's place, but the cement was enough to make blood trickle from the open cut.

☆ You turned around to see a baffled Ciel, almost frozen in shock. "My apologies Earl Phantomhi-" your voice trailed off mid-sentence seeing the floral tattoos blooming on his knee, the same place where you had just sustained your injury. Wordlessly, he walked to you side and took your hand in his. "Let's get that looked at, shall we then?"

Alois

AU: You can see every color except the color of your soulmate’s eyes until you meet them.

☆ Walking around town was enjoyable on a lovely day like this one, but it'd be far more lovely if you could see the blue hues of the sky above you along the little things you pass by. A sigh fell from your lips, wondering if you would ever meet this blue-eyed one that was meant to be your soulmate. In that instant, you bumped into someone walking next to you who seemed to be headed in the same direction.

☆ You turned to apologize, but instead your entire body froze as his gorgeous icy eyes were brought to life, lighting up with a color you'd never quite been able to make out before. The blonde had a similar shocked expression as yours, before letting a smirk play it's way onto his lips. "Well it certainly is a pleasure finally getting to meet you, love."

Joker

AU: Every so often you will get flashes of what your soulmate is seeing at the time, however your soulmate does not know when it happens.

☆ You were going about your daily chores as usual, excited for tonight. A lovely decision you made for yourself, to see the Noah's Ark Traveling Circus while it was nearby! In the middle of your activities, a sudden flash of what you knew to be your soulmate's sight came to your mind. The image you had seen seemed to be an up-close of your soulmate having a conversation with a woman wearing a black cleavage top, how prosthetic hand outstretched in hers.

☆ You had seen the girl before, as well as the prosthetic hand your soulmate possessed. Later that night however, you were not expecting to see that same woman and that same hand of whom was meant to be your eternal lover. Your eyes met his during the show, you were seated in the mid-section but you could still tell from that look in his eyes that he was thinking the exact same thing.

Dagger

AU: Everyone has a journal that allows them to write back and forth with their soulmate.

☆ It was in the journal you possessed for communication with your soulmate that you had learned so much about him. Not just that he was under educated and had sloppy penmanship, but the both of you would often exchange the events that played out throughout your day. You'd often have to correct his misspelled words, but you didn't mind. After all, now you knew you'd get to meet him in person soon.

☆ From what the both of you had shared, you knew that he was a first-tier performer in the infamous Noah's Ark Traveling Circus which was currently in your area. Nervousness and excitement blended together and filled your body as you stepped into the main tent. You almost instantly knew who Dagger was, previously describing his appearance to you. With time before the show begun, you tapped his shoulder and he turned to face you. A shocked look came over his face, you hadn't told him you were coming tonight. "Oh m' God. 's really y'."

Redline-Editorial FAQ

Thank you for checking this blog out! If you've been working on a piece of art and something doesn't look quite right, send it in! I will do my best to help figure out what's off, or at the very least be a second set of eyes.

Q. "Does this cost money?" A. Nope! I'm just doing this for fun and to help people out. At some point I may plug my ko-fi if people are interested, but I want to make it clear I'm doing this just because I want to help people with anatomy/composition, as well as to become more comfortable with art critique. I, myself, had a bully of an art teacher in highschool and it left a terrible stain on my feelings towards art critique.

Q. "What kind of credentials do you have? Degrees?" A. None, technically. I've been doing art digitally since 2009, so I'd say 14 years of experience isn't something to snub. I draw daily, and my personal archive of finished works contains over 3200 pieces. That being said, I do have a specific style, so all of my art critiques are going to come with that addendum.

Q. "What if I want to submit art for my friend who's shy?" A. I'm sticking to my guns that only the original artist should post their own work. If the username/watermark don't match I understand (tumblr having your main blog be the default sending point, etc.) so I'm going to trust people to only submit their own work. People found abusing this in order to harass/bully others will be blocked and reported. I don't want anyone getting caught up in that by trying to do a good deed for someone else. That being said I do have tags in place for 'please be gentle/honest/ruthless' to give a better indication level of how much correction/compliments the sender would like. If this is used for bullying you will be reported and blocked.

Q. "How long will it take to get a redline edit back?" A. Typically not long, though I do have a day job. Expect 1-3 days as a good margin. If it's been over a week feel free to send a reminder ask.

Q. "Is this only for anatomical editing notes?" A. Primarily yes. If you are specifically looking for help with coloring I can do that, but I would like to make the focus on anatomy/composition. That being said, rendering is all parts of the same product, so it may be mentioned here and there. If you need help specifically with certain elements, please make note in your submission.

Q. "Can we see your art blog?" A. Maybe in the future.

Q. "Can we do private submissions/sessions?" A. Since this is meant to be a public learning space, as well as free, I'm going to say no for right now. Private editing is something I would feel is more appropriate as a paid gig, which I don't think I'm ready for just yet. Everyone is always learning, myself included, and advice I give today may not be the most factually accurate and others may have additional helpful notes. Remember that I am just a voice of suggestion and to take what I say with that in mind. It's your art, you can always do what you want with it.

Q. "I submitted something to redline but have decided I'm not comfortable with it being up, can I get it removed?" A. Yeah, just send me the post number and I'll delete it.

I'd like the idea of an AU in the time where jason die and tim becomes Robin. Bruce he vents his anger on the, and the treats badly, doesn't care. He decides to compromise with himself by pretending not to care while slowly installing cameras and bugs in tims househouse. And hacking and displaying feeds from places tim frequents and it gets so bad he bugs tims phone and even inserts a microchip tracker into tim one time when he was unconscious when tim got badly injured. EDIT: hello, two people have let me know this prompt is apparently from someone named mantamobu's thread on twitter the original i've linked here and i would love it if many of checked them out!! i'd like to believe that the original anon meant no harm and was likely just enthusiastic about an idea they liked and wished to see more of but I also bear a bit of responsibility since I recently started following mantamobu and had actually seen those tweets before and thought I recognized the idea but then assumed i was wrong since no reference to it was made.

i really do appreciate every prompt send to me! but i do have a concession and if you want to send in prompts from a tweet or post made by someone i'd love to be able to link them and show them what I made with their idea.

but also in all fairness i never made that known before so I do think it was just honest mistake from someone!

still there's great news attatched to this edit!!! mantamobu added more to their original thread about 5 hours ago from the time I'm writing this!!! so you can see how they take their original idea further❤️❤️❤️.

I cannot stress how much i LOVE fics where tim gets the short end of the stick while training as robin!! because canonically he does get treated differently from dick or jason or damian from how they were trained and treated, it makes sense why bruce acts like that. jason's death is a fresh wound, still bleeding and pulsing pain and tim is, in many ways, vinegar, lemon juice, and salt sprayed onto it.

i think bruce tried to do his best but ultimately had to push tim's training onto others because he couldn't handle being tim's primary trainer but also because he wanted tim to get a varied education, because he blamed himself for jason's death, and he'd been the one responsible for teaching jason everything. so he'd failed and jason's death was on his hands because he hadn't taught him enough and he didn't want that for tim.

bruce is just SO CLOSE to tipping over the edge and i think if tim had gotten to him just a few months even a few weeks later he'd have developed into a very distrustful and aggressive person because you could see how he was rolling down that path when tim came into his life.

he doesn't like tim. doesn't appreciate his interference in his life and he most certainly doesn't trust him despite alfred and dick both insisting he five tim a chance.

he's short with tim. gives growled orders and he expects perfection on the first attempt. bruce knows he's being harsh on him, alfred hads tried pleading him to not be so callous, to have a gentler touch like he did with his other boys. timothy wants to help him. can't he see that?

or is he far too stubborn to acknowledge the sacrifices this boy is going to make for his sake?

alfred must tell dick his worries because dick calls him, spitting threats and saying he better not be treating tim badly because he'll come over there and kick his ass if that's the case.

bruce tries to ignore the hurt that bubbles in him when he realizes that his family thinks he's...he's hurting tim on purpose just for the sake of it.

tim doesn't hold it against him. his eyes are sympathetic and understanding even while cradling a heavily bruised limb because bruce threw him down on the mat too harshly.

he asks bruce how his day is going, if he's eaten anything and before bruce can even respond tim will be offering him packets of crackers, chips, or nuts. they're printed with his school logo and bruce knows tim must've gotten them from the vending machines in his cafeteria.

tim is sweet, in the way that boys raised to be gentle are. he's earnest and eager to please bruce. but he also pities bruce.

he sees the cracks in him and tries his best to help him along even if it means receiving a several minute long verbal lashing for a small mistake.

bruce knows he is harsh (he wishes he could be kinder). he knows he has a short temper (he wishes he could be more patient). he knows he's not doing right by tim (he wishes he could be better).

he cannot caress tim. cannot tell him when he impresses him or how much he's improved. alfred is disapproving of that, he makes that very clear.

bruce tries to ignore the feelings. this overwhelming irrational fear and worry over tim when he can't see him. bruce knows tim's schedule, tim surrendered it quite easily.

from five days a week, from seven-thirty to three he's at school.

on mondays and wednesdays he has gymnastics which he's been attending since he was in second grade.

tuesdays and thursdays from four to six he has tutoring with an older boy from his school to help him with a few classes he's fallen behind in.

fridays, saturday, and sunday tim signs himself out for the weekend and makes his way to the manor for training. three days a week is a severe limit but tim is working on convincing his parents to let him quit gymnastics despite the fact that he's won a handful of trophies from local competitions.

tim is also looking into maybe paying off his tutor to say they met and instead freeing up all five days for bruce.

the point is, bruce knows, roughly, where tim is at any given hour of the day.

but bruce can't ignore the creeping feeling. like nails digging under the skin of his scalp. he knows where tim is.

he knows that he knows where he is. but he keeps checking that small post-it note with tim's handwriting outlining his weekly schedule.

he smoothes the creases and reads each line before setting it down. two seconds later and he's picking it back up again and re-reading the lines, just making sure his brain isn't playing tricks on him and he didn't skip any line.

down. pick up again because what if he just imagined that he picked it up and read it the first two times?

bruce's compulsory behavior and natural paranoia stress him out the more he becomes interested in tim. in where he is, what he's doing. is he talking to anyone? is anyone giving him a hard time? what if one of bruce's enemies found out about tim (it hasn't even been 3 months, how could they possibly find out about him) and are hurting him right this second.

it's wasier to manage in the manor. just additional security cameras are added to the driveway and on the forested property line that stretch down the main road.

bruce has an exact ETA and visual on tim as he rides his bike up the road on friday afternoon.

he installs cameras and microphones into the guestroom that tim occupies every weekend. he does it while alfred is out running errands and keeps the feed on a device separate from the bat computer. just in case.

alfred would be fiercely disapproving about this blatent invasion of 'master tim's' privacy. he'd call dick and then his son would have another reason to hate him.

so bruce keeps it to himself. he only pulls it out when he's alone. late at night, when alfred has already retreated and tim is dead asleep after icing all his bruises.

he's a small little thing, curled up on his side as he sleeps. he's brought his own blanket that he cuddles up with on top of the sheets. it's cheetah patterned and bruce recognizes it from the flea markets in gotham's west side that he investigated as batman once.

there's a microphone in the headboard and bruce hears the soft breaths of tim as he sleeps. an occasional whistle sound also leaks through during an especially deep breath, likely the result of a slightly deviated septum.

tim drools, bruce can see it when he zooms in close to his face.

bruce is crossing a boundary. he's invading tim's privacy on a level he never did to jason or dick or even alfred.

he knows that anyone would be furious with him if they knew. they'd call him a 'bigger creep' than usual. but they wouldn't understand.

they wouldn't understand how bruce needed to do it. how close he'd been to calling clark and asking him to check up on what would essentially be, a random civilian.

bruce had to do it. he had to.

they wouldn't understand. but tim would.

if tim knew it brought him peace of mind, he'd let bruce do it.

maybe that's why bruce gets bolder. why he goes out one night while tim stays in and rather than go into gotham proper where he always starts his patrol, he instead makes a turn in teh direction of tim's boarding school where it was located just on the outskirts of the city.

bruce knows tim's dorm is empty. he knows his roommate returns home for the weekend as well.

so it's a matter of just going into the right building and tracking down the door with two star-shaped stickers wearing sunglasses that have the names 'T. Drake' and 'M. To' written on them.

bruce finds the bed with tim's possessions and presses bugs and cameras around his side of the room. he debates planting any in the bathroom but decides that infringing on the privacy of a random 13-year-old boy is just too far.

bruce gets back door access to all the hall way and campus cameras as he leaves.

when tim returns on monday bruce is able to watch him leave until he's out of range of the manor cameras and instead switches to a red, blinking dot on another monitor.

subdermal tracker. experimental. bruce told tim some lie about it being a vaccine for a potential exposure to ivy's pollen. bruce is still working on that and eventually tim will get the real vaccine.

trackers are placed outside of things because if ingested they'll eventually run out of battery and just be hunks of metal floating in someone's body.

tim's should last for a few years before it would have to have its battery replaced. but that's a decade away.

bruce watches as tim's bike rolls into the parking for students and he jogs up to the main office where bruce swtiches to yet another camera.

the quality of the camera is grainy but its good enough quality that bruce can identify it's tim who offers the secretary a friendly smile and quickly signs back in before darting out to make it to his first class of the day.

bruce spends the day alternating between working on his cases and pulling out his phone to check on tim in the security cameras.

bruce feels...better. less weighed down with the knowledge that he knows exactly where tim is and what he's doing.

bruce does realize he's behaving more neurotic than usual. he knows that maybe this should be his wakeup call for professional help but he doesn't get it.

he watches. he listens as tim settles back into his life on monday.

he listens as tim and his roommate complain about their homework and teachers they don't like. they ask about each other's weekend and mutual friends they share. they talk about what's being served for dinner. occasionally other boys from their floor will wander in wanting to chat, borrow or return cds, or to invite them for a movie on the main floor that bruce has also bugged.

bruce listens to tim laugh and nearly bust a gut at a raunchy joke made by one of the older boys. bruce tapes that laugh and keeps it on file.

he doesn't know why.

on tuesday things settle down more. on tuesday, tim's roomate has swim practice from four to seven and tim has tutoring.

bruce expects tim to make his way to the library, bruce already has his fingers ready to switch but instead he watches as tim greets a scruffy, broad-shouldered boy at the door.

tim's tutor. presumably.

sixteen, turning seventeen in three months. he's helping tim with algebra and pre-chemistry.

and apparently, also fucking him.

bruce doesn't tear his eyes away from the sight of the tutor's pants unbuckled and lowered to just below his ass as he roughly fucks tim on his bed. tim's hands are wrapped and scrambling for his sweater vest coated back.

bruce can hear through the microphone grunts and moans and whines. he hears the rocking of the bed and creaking of the springs.

he doesn't know why he doesn't look away.

tuedays and thursdays from four to six is when they meet. bruce checked the post-it.

was this what they did in that time?

yes.

for a full two hours, tim didn't study a lick of algebra or chemistry. instead, every bit of his thirteen-year-old self climbed onto the older boy's lap and rode him, throwing his head back as he moaned with delight of being filled.

bruce watches for the full two hours. he doesn't look away once.

once finished they both clean up and the boy departs with hardly another word spoken.

tim straightens his bed in time for his roomate to return and ask if tim had a productive session.

'oh, very' tim nodded seriously.

bruce checked tim's phone. he'd installed a secondary screen to be able to go through it but he hadn't had reason to until tim's little affair came to light.

they exchanged pictures with each other. they sent risque texts and flirted as much as two teenagers could.

there didn't seem to be much of an emotional connection between them. it wasn't serious. bruce couldn't explain why that filled him with so much relief.

on friday when tim arrived for training he was amazed at how much more calm bruce was. how was soothed with just a few words from tim. how he wasn't as harsh even though alfred's expression was no less disapproving when tim picked himself up from the mats.

bruce's grip wasn't as iron clenched, bruce knew tim could tell. bruce's brows were still furrowed but they didn't carry as much tension. bruce knew tim could tell.

bruce knew tim could feel bruce's eyes on him as they stopped for a water break.

but tim didn't flinch, didn't stumble or hesitate. he absorbed bruce's observation like he didn't feel it at all. he wasn't disturbed or unnerved by bruce's shift in behavior or his scrutiny.

he took it in stride.

and as bruce sat down beside tim, reaching for his own drink. he watched out of the corner of his eye as tim rubbed at his shoulder, right on the spot where bruce had injected the tracker.

bruce didn't know what to call the feeling that bubbled up in his chest. so instead, he swallowed it down alongside the water that filled his mouth.

But honestly, just saw the post talking about your au and Gregory in general, plus the tags to it. When i first read the part of Vanessa being Jeremy's niece a while back i honestly loved that

On one of my own aus, i make so that Vanessa has that type of uncle and niece relationship cuz tbh, i totally see it and i love it (wont say which one bc i know some folks who follow me sees your posts and i aint giving spoilers to any of them)

And seeing someone actually do it makes me...sorta happy tbh. And the reason for her to even be involved in all of this, makes me even more interested :>

And i really like the cyborg idea for Gregory, it feels like an in-between option for the war of "he's a robot! No he's a human!" I like it XD

Plus, i feel like at this point in time it would be a thing, especially with how the animatronics feel so advanced ya know? Not too far ahead from the current future, but not to close either, it's fun and makes sense

I do wonder how it'll go from here tho, especially in whether you will choose between one of the endings from the game with your own spin, or make a completely new one. All in all, I'd love to see more of it!

I'm a sucker for found family coming together from trying to find the mystery of their past/lost family. It has a nice bittersweet tone to it, and it seems to lead that way here (ofc if it isn't, i'll still enjoy the au bc the idea itself is really cool)

As for my Help Wanted and Security Breach au, its actually a continuation of my fnaf au in general.

After Michael's suicide with Henry and the burning of the Pizzeria, Jeremy leaves as a broken man now in the possession of Glamrock Freddy and the Glamrock blueprints Michael left behind. The trauma and the survivor's guilt has made him barely the person he used to be, and he sells the Glamrocks to a man. He doesn't want anything to do with them. Cut to Vanessa though, and he loves her very much, she brings light to his life once again and all seems to be well.

He's approached by Fazbears entertainment years later. They tell him, that as a survivor of those events, they want him to test their "educational" game (Help Wanted). Ignoring the fact that the game is a complete mockery of what he's been through, he focuses more on the anomaly he spots.

He disappears not long after and this is when Vanessa comes in. The officers put his investigation on hold and Vanessa take matter in her own hands. She finds out about the game, collects the tapes, gets possessed by Malhare etc...

This is where the au falls apart a bit because anything after that moment is just little snippets of lore and scenes.

Malhare's role is very important though. To the whole thing.

Malhare isn't William. He's this projection of Will, born out of spite and that's meant to store his memories. His only purpose is to help resurrect Burntrap (aka the actual William) which he will then perish if successful. He's not supposed to be sentient, or make his own choices. He can only calculate outcomes and steer the person or thing he's possessing into doing things that will be beneficial for his goal. Malhare, just like any virus, spreads. There's no one version of him. However Vanessa's version of Malhare somehow manages to become sentient. Sentient enough that he realizes that he will die if he succeeds in his mission. Sentient enough that he has emotions. And sentient enough that he can make his own decisions. So when the time comes and Gregory enters the bottom of the Pizzaplex, he has a change of heart because in typically William or William adjacent fashion, he's scared of death. So he saves Gregory from the other versions of Malhare and corrupted systems that roam the Pizzaplex.

Now I should also preface that Vanessa and Malhare share their body, but anytime Malhare takes front, her eyes glow purple and she develops incredible agility and more physical strength (this is Vanny). Malhare can't front for long though.

Anyways, Vanny saves Gregory and they flee the Pizzaplex with Glamrock Freddy. They go to Luis' apartment for shelter for the day and Vanessa finally opens up about her situation. Now Vanessa is a wanted woman with a bounty on her hear, Malhare is cast away from his own kind, Luis can't return bc he helped Vanessa, everybody is after Gregory and Freddy is tagging along to protect Gregory.

Next step is to find Jeremy.

Hello, I'm new to shifting and I'm unfamiliar with death respawning. I guess the term itself is self explained but I have a question. Do you end your life on your own or you die after you shift?

I'm kind of like- struggling with my very much worsening English fluency so please bear with me in this. It's also 2am again so, please excuse any errors; I'll fix them later on.

Anyways—it is more of having your vessel succumb to a death.

Death respawning isn't using suicide to shift, it is different, and that path is what I meant by "using suicide to respawn". I, and the community itself, will not tolerate it, ever. It's not even considered a method tbh.

I'm aware I said I will not tolerate the idea on my blog, but I should have included I'm only discussing it in cases like this where it's for educational purposes. 😭 dhddhhd

I found that death respawners usually go by one of two things:

Succumbing to any illness or similar which one already suffers from—cancer being the main example here,

or succumbing to a death by other means. Organ failiure/Heart Attacks/Sudden Cardiac Arrest/etc. are the most common methods, with (effects of) poison, (effects of) drowning, covid, and other deaths being much rarer to come across.

Personally, I'm going with a heart attack that leads on to/induces sudden cardiac arrest. 🩰

The latter is usually done with death respawn-specific subliminals, or any subliminal that helps with the method. And (death) respawners may go with painful symptoms, or not, depending.

With death respawning, you either experience your vessel succumbing to its death while you respawn, respawn while it dies, or have it die after your respawn. Or, that's what I've seen, at least-

I'd prefer the first, but, either works for me 🧍‍♀️

Oh and, death respawning isn't necessarily a permanent death of the vessel, per se. It's more common, yes, but someone can respawn through "reversible/temporary" death, then have their vessel end up fine so that their walk-in/new consciousness can take over. This isn't relevant to your question but I felt like bringing this up as well.

I'm not sure whether there is more to death respawn than terminal illness and manifested conditions, but those are all I'm aware of at the moment.

Hi! I just wanted to help educate you on transandrophobia a bit, and maybe help you understand it a bit more

Transandrophobia is not only trans men, but trans masc people in general. So it is in fact inclusive of nonbinary folk who may align with it! Plus, we all agree that transmisogyny is a good and useful term, but it also mainly used for transfem people even though other groups can experience misdirected transmisogyny. If other groups can have words to describe they’re unique oppression, transmascs should be able to as well!

And as someone who has spent a lot of time in these circles, many people who fight for transandrophobia aren’t transmisogynistic. There are bad apples in every bunch, and it’s usually the minority who is the loudest. The post popular people who fight for transandrophobia actually coined specific terms for the movement of working together as a trans community instead of devidimg it.

Not only this. But many many people against this term use phrases like “tmra” aka “trans men right activists” clearly taking from TrA used by terfs, and many of these people use the term transmisogyny, all because transmascs try to talk on their oppression. I’ve even see these people say that transmascs have no say on the roe V Wade situation. Many of these people use the term transmisogyny or otherwise think themselves trans Allies.

This does not mean the term transmisogyny is bad or that it shouldn’t be used just because their are extremists among us. Same can be said for transandrophobia

And these same people may say a lot of bad things about the coiner. Now, I disagree with the coiner on a lot. However, what they focus on is from a callout post that is… less than stellar. If you hear that they are “a rapist who wants to detranistion trans women” the actual correct course of events was “he engaged in a kink with a consenting trans fem partner on a private account, that got hacked into and used as a callout” which I think can be classified as revenge porn!

This is in no way meant to be mean, I just wanted to help you understand the word, community, and things you may here more. Especially in regards to the coiner, as if you actually do digging, you will find that the callout was a revenge porn tactic that resulted in a huge smear campaign

Many nb people want to be able to have their own separate identities without being linked to masculinity though. You can be amab and transmasc as well, and much of transandrophobia focuses on things like abortion rights along with the LGBTQ+ community's negative view of masculinity. Then there are afab trans fem people who are still excluded.

It may be because I'm a little more sensitive to transmisogyny but I've seen popular posts go around that blame trans women for the lack of attention that trans men get in our oppression. Which is basically shitting on trans women for facing transmisogyny. Comparison to transmisogyny itself is also arguably transmisogynistic or lets me know that the person is uneducated about what transmisogyny means.

Yeah I've seen that callout post but the second I start talking about other specific users on this blog is the second all hell breaks loose so I'd rather not.

I wasn't planning on responding but I found something that does seem interesting to what we're trying to talk about. Men's studies and masculinity studies are apparently a thing. While trans men and trans masc people are typically left out, I found a book that has a chapter dedicated to trans masculinities (Routledge International Handbook of Masculinity Studies). You can find it on zlibrary and I also added it to the hoard I keep on google drive [Link]. I haven't read the whole chapter yet but it may be worth checking out.

Oh, oh! I did it! I really did! I pissed of queer people and straight hoes (I meant allies*) simultaneously! I'm so powerful! Muahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

I saw this post somewhere today; you know folks wanting magic and sex(uality?) to be back on the rainbow flag? So I brought it in to the conversation, ya know? Like, I wanna learn what other people think of it.

And this one ace girl got so upset that fellow ace (me, I'm the massive snowflake) would even suggest it! How come? Sex on a flag for *queer* people??? I'm betraying the entire Ace Kingdom with this blasphemous, insidious idea.

Now, I know we differ when it comes to our look at sex and how it is performed. We talked already in the past and I acknowledged this. But come the fuck on.

So we had heated argument, I guess I'm not being invited for tea anymore. Too bad...

But I'm brining this in for one particular reason: that this attitude pisses me the fuck off.

I didn't have many encounters with ace community. Mainly because I never sought it out but also because... Well, I don't think I'd fit in all that well. But I do browse ace memes every now and again, sometimes I happen to find 'hot' takes on Tumblr too.

But to me it is devoided of any life. The whole "I'd rather have a cake than sex" is very low hanging fruit to me and is quite garish. Mainly because aces I have met personally also happen to have poor relationship with food. But I see it as (mostly) harmless fun, you know? And while I don't agree with idea or the narrative humour, in the end I don't have to - I'm clearly not targeted demographic for it.

But I've seen waaay too many shit where ace people say shit like "sex education is worthless" and I'm just at lost of words. Like, I literally don't know how to convey this anger but... Sex Ed isn't a tutorial on how to blow someone. Sex Ed isn't 'sexy'. And saying shit like this is fucking stupid, ignorant and possibly dangerous. Just because one doesn't plan to have sex ever, for one reason or another, doesn't mean they cannot use this knowledge.

But sex happening within the queer community isn't offending ace people. There are ace people having sex, the same way where there are allos that do not. And besides why the fuck it would offend or affect ace people?? It is everyone's conscious choice to do or not to do, things they're comfortable with. If you're uncomfortable with shit other people do in their spare time, *you're* the problem in this equation. Is this some weird idea that having this additional stripe of fabric will change mechanics of the world??? Nope; media will still potray sex, because that's what consumers wanna see. Not having this colour in doesn't stop creeps from hitting on me.

This is the same talk as with kink shit on prides. I have been on more marches than any other queer folk I know (at least to date) and I *fucking* guarantee you that the worst you can see is few dudes in puppy hoods and leather folks sweating their asses off in 30°C sun (the civilisation is going down hill, what a slippery slip to hell, oh my God, boohooo). But you know what else you'll see on pride marches? Hundreds and thousands of people willing to help you out or explain things to you. And I say this from the coldest, most deprived bottom part of my heart, that I would much rather have teenagers learn about kink in this safe way, than the shit they can go through when they fucking Google it.

Thunderlord, fucking, Zeus Almighty. I'm so fucking pissed off.

Could you write more about the consequences of No Child Left Behind? You mentioned it in the followup to the Mr Robinson post. I'd heard of No Child Left Behind before, but I'm not American so I don't really know what the policy was and it did to education in practice.

I mean, I was a kid when it happened (obviously) so I don’t know ALL the details.

But here’s a basic rundown - from memory, so maybe wrong. Please google this to fact check me.

The No Child Left Behind Act was passed in late 2001 by the Bush Administration. The stated goal behind it was to make sure every single child was passing their grade to a pre-determined academic standard. No exceptions.

What this meant in practice was things like -

Mandating states implement standardized testing and administer it annually, and

Basing availability of Federal incentives (and penalties) upon these test scores and other barometers like drop out and graduation rates.

You can probably already see the problem.

Firstly, basing who gets money on achievements in test scores and rates of drop-outs is obviously going to favor the school districts that already don’t need help. Like - you clearly have enough resources to look after your kids! Here’s more resources! You’re clearly struggling to meet the needs of your students, here’s budget cuts!

This kind of standardized testing also took a great big machete to teacher’s ability to adapt curriculum to their students or design their own curricula. The school board and administration were obviously going to be heavily focused on getting that incentive $$$, which meant doing well on the standardized tests, which meant teaching kids how to pass standardized tests and not much else.

It also left “gifted” kids with absolutely nothing to do and no attention. Because it was based on kids passing a predetermined standard for their age group, instead of measuring a students progress, if you entered a grade already well-positioned to pass these exams, they had nothing to teach you and nothing for you to do. I had a college reading level by third grade. This is not a joke - in both eighth grade and tenth grade I was basically kicked out of my English class for being too advanced - given an automatic A and left with a free period because the teachers were like “I have to meet these quota and within that framework I have nothing to offer a student like you.” That might sound great to you, but it was weird and unstructured and isolating. In eighth grade I spent the hour helping the special education class as an assistant after the teacher there recruited me when she learned my situation. That at least was worthwhile. In tenth grade? I just kinda mucked about. What a great use of taxpayer dollars.

It also incentivized schools to do things like find creative ways to cull their struggling students or drop-outs so they wouldn’t count towards their numbers. If having a certain percentage of students that can’t pass the test is going to cost you money, the easiest solution is to just not have those students at all, or to find a way to make them not count. In the same way a kid who will pass the test regardless gets written off, a kid who they see as being certain to fail will also be written off.

Plus, the whole “no exceptions” thing is absurd on the face of it. I’m sure the act had something to account for kids with disabilities sort of, but even then. A universal standard is always going to be lacking, because people are individuals, not cogs. A better standard is one where a kid is competing against themselves and no one else. Did they get better? Then who cares if they’re as good as everyone else.

Basically, it was bad. It left absolutely zero room for individual students to be individuals, whether advanced or taking their time. And, again, I was a kid at the time, so I have memory of it as a student, not someone politically active, and not a teacher. I might be remembered wrong. But what I remember is that teachers hated it and we did too.

I’m sure companies who design standardized tests, when all the states suddenly needed one for each grade, loved it though.

What advice would you give to someone who grew up in an atheist household but feels a vague connection to God? My family wasn't for or against any religion so I grew up indifferent but also comforted by religious memorabilia, going in churches, etc. I know that sounds wishy-washy but I'd like to explore it more but I don't know where to start and what to read to learn more, to decide what I think.

There are probably better blogs you could ask about this than mine, but I'll try my best. I’m going to answer this under the cut because it got really lengthy hehe. Also sorry this took so long to answer, I've been pretty busy!

So firstly it seems like we had really similar experiences growing up. My mom was “spiritual” and agnostic, raising me without exposure to really any religion (besides maybe Buddhism and a little bit of nondenominational Christianity—she shopped around a bit). I think this sort of background is becoming more and more common in society, so you aren’t alone.

Because of this non-religious childhood I can also tell you firsthand that there are a lot of bad things out there. For basically the entirety of my adolescence I was involved in witchcraft, paganism, and “new age” spirituality. I’m just going to tell you straight up that this is bad news. Please don’t fall for any of their bullshit. I literally worshipped and communicated with demons for years and it turned me into a horrible, evil person. Don’t fall for the “law of attraction” bullshit either, no matter how seductive it seems.

With that out of the way…

I am still in the process of converting so I can’t give you the perspective of someone who has completed that process, but I can tell you what has helped me figure out a lot of things religion-wise.

Firstly, the most important thing is to ask questions. If you do not ask questions, you cannot learn. If you do not learn, you will never know truth. So ask questions.

You say you feel drawn to churches, so I’m going to operate on the assumption that you want to know more about Christianity. If this isn’t the case then… well… ummmm well I ummummumummm Uh.

You’ve probably heard “Jesus died for your sins” before, but it’s very easy to just gloss over that because the idea is kind of pushed around our society without anyone really explaining it. Like I had no clue what that meant or how it worked before I started asking these questions.

“What are the doctrinal differences between these two religions? What about between these two branches of the same religion?” “Why is this biblical event important?” “How does the Trinity work?” “How do we know Jesus is the Messiah?” Et cetera. Any question you can think of, find out the answer to it. Catholic Answers is a pretty good place to start!

Secondly, as you’re in this “research” phase, I highly suggest immersing yourself in media that deals with religion as a whole. I listened to a lot of catholic podcasts and watched a lot of YouTube videos that explained some very important theological concepts that I didn’t quite understand. It’s not a proper education by any means but it will help you get the basics down.

Ideally, you’d be able to ask someone about this in person and get proper responses (assuming the person is knowledgeable and can explain things well). Like seriously, you should do this. Online stuff is nice but it isn’t a replacement for finding a parish and talking to someone.

I couldn’t really do this because I didn’t have access at the time when I was really becoming curious (pandemic and stuck with anti-theist parents lol), so if you’re in a similar situation, the internet is your best friend. In that stage I also followed a lot of catholic and orthodox blogs so I would be surrounded with that content as much as possible. Kind of like how if you’re trying to learn a language you need to immerse yourself in it I guess?

In my pinned post I have a lot of resources that were useful to me linked near the bottom :)

I highly suggest getting a Bible or AT LEAST downloading a good Bible app. Multiple actually. Or listen to something like the Bible in a Year podcast by Fr. Mike Schmitz. I have a study Bible with a lot of footnotes which is GREAT if you love knowing about translations, original texts, and historical context, but not as great if you just want to read the story of salvation itself.

Now you can be the most knowledgeable person on a religion, knowing all the history and all the doctrine, but if you don’t have a relationship with God it means absolutely nothing. The most important thing is to pray. You can’t have a relationship with God if you do not pray. Ask for guidance, ask for assistance in becoming more virtuous, pray for others, just talk to God about anything.

Personally I bought myself a nice rosary once I started seriously considering Catholicism and started to pray using that, but there are countless ways to pray.

The ways that work best for me are lectio divina and the rosary. I can never seem to finish novenas, but those are also nice, and listening to hymns and chant helps me connect to God a lot! ALSO learning about church history and the various saints throughout it. Again, you might be different, so just find what works for you!

LASTLY.

IT’S NOT WEIRD AT ALL TO CONVERT AS AN ADULT!!!!! Speaking for Christianity, that is. For something like Judaism it would probably be a bit stranger, especially since Judaism is so heavily linked to a specific culture and ethnicity.

Christianity however is very open to adult converts. That’s how it got started in the first place. There are countless saints who converted later in life, so please please don’t feel weird about it. The Church is probably the most friendly to converts out of all religions. Here’s an article on the Catholic conversion process for adults!

TLDR:

Ask questions, learn, pray, learn some more, pray even more, go find an RCIA program so you can get catechized and baptized. LOVE YOU <3

Baki headcannons time! I'm writing a fic (it's gotten too long btw) and Baki is a key player. I characterized him as aloof to his charges with a hidden soft spot for them, but that's only because I don't think of him very much. If it's alright with you I'd like to dig into your headcannons more since I don't honestly think of Baki often... But!! I need him now! For my fic! Please send me your headcannons! Also no need to shorten your answers, I love reading them.

Yes, of course! We love Baki in this household. To be honest, I cannot quite remember how our headcanons about him started, attraction to him, adoration for Suna, blatant inability to remember exactly what happened in the first arc of Shippuden. What I do know is I researched him a ton on his Narutopedia page (that website is the Bible) and frankly they had basically nothing on him. There is also very little on Suna itself, so, all of the shaping of what we have made Suna to be came from what we did know about the characters that lived there as well as what we came to believe about those characters.

Baki is described as someone extremely loyal to his village, but knows how to set priorities and is willing to go against what the council has said if that means benefiting the village. This is seen after Gaara is kidnapped and he goes to Chiyo and Ebizo (we stan these two in this household) for their help in saving Gaara. I read into this, a lot, because it was pretty much the only personality trait given to us. Baki recognizes the importance of Gaara, and the rest of the council basically agreed it might have been a blessing in disguise for the village because they still did not like Gaara. Why would Baki, someone just as dedicated to the village as the other council members, not believe the same they did? Its basically a known fact Suna shinobi are willing to sacrifice their friends, family, and lovers if it is required for a mission to be successful. They are willing to make sacrifices, so even if Baki cared about Gaara he would be willing to sacrifice him if that meant saving the village. Honestly, he may not even know Gaara that well in a case such as that. Thinking of that, I knew Baki had to be different from the rest of the council, but how?

I had absolutely all the freedom in the world to develop Baki how I wished, which is actually more terrifying than having no freedom, but when I looked at him, all I could think was that he looked perfect. His skin? Flawless. His makeup? On point. His body? Oh man that dude is so muscular and we all know it. Baki is just walking perfection looks wise so I said why not make him an actual angel? Why not make his personality just as good? Of course, this needed to be justified and I found a way to make that true (I will post the backstory I developed for him some other time).

Because he is the epitome of perfect, he would have thought letting their kazekage die for the village was awful, right? Actually no. Baki's flaw in his perfect persona comes from the fact that he would have grown up in Old Suna, so he would possess the same mindset as the old geezers in the council. He wouldn't think sacrifice was bad because he grew up thinking it was necessary. Then there had to be some other reason he thought saving Gaara was the answer, some way he knew the boy was necessary. That decision would have to come from knowing Gaara and what he was capable of, aka being close to him. Baki would need to know Gaara's motivation, Gaara's skills, just Gaara in general to think that he needed to be saved. How else could Baki have known this unless he got close to Gaara? As I have stated previously, I believed Baki would not pursue getting to know him had he not had a specific type of personality and Gaara would never reach out to make them become familiar with one another as we know.

This led me to develop Baki as I have. A village oriented angel man, who cares deeply for those he once lead. Baki had to be the type of person to be kind and open minded for the 3 siblings to even accept him in the first place. Yes, in the chunin exams arc we see him only ever act seriously and only ever look like he could kill someone with a single glance, but that is because they were on a mission. He went serious murder Baki mode because that's just what Suna shinobi do. What we don't see, is much of any interaction between the siblings and Baki. The way I read this was yes, there was no heartwarming interaction or something to make us believe Baki was an angel, but there was also no disrespect or disregard towards Baki. To me this meant they sre on a mission so they all need to be serious, and because it was still Old Suna they would have been more serious anyways, but that Baki and the siblings had a mutual respect for one another anyways so as not to say anything bad towards him (we do see Gaara was kind of awful to his siblings at the same time so he totally would have said something to Baki if he wanted because little emo baby Gaara doesn't respect authority).

To me, this meant Baki and Gaara, and Temari and Kankuro, had to have built up that respect somehow. This is something I will go into more depth later, but for now I shall simply state the following sentences. Gaara was feared by everyone because of Shukaku so it was clear his siblings, the ones less afraid to stand next to him, were the only option for his team. For their sensei, I'm sure many ninja were given the task but quit it not long after because ALL three siblings were being brats (none of them respected authority). After going through numerous other shinobi, Rasa would have turned to Baki, someone he knew was more dedicated to Suna than most and would have given him the task, stressing that this would highly benefit the village. Baki is someone who serves the village, thinks only of the village's benefits, and only goal in life is to be of use for the village. This would have been a task he recognized was highly important and him quitting as others had would only mean he hadn't lived up to his only goal in life, he would have failed Rasa and Sunagakure. In desperate attempts to not let that happen, Baki would make the best of the situation. After dreading his new job for the longest time but still trying his best to connect with the three so it was more bearable, I believe the siblings would have started recognizing he wasn't planning to leave and despite suffering from their punches and kicks was still trying his best to be educational and supportive. I think that, even if they weren't super close or caring towards Baki at that time, each would, at their own pace, begin to recognize that and respect him, meaning they would slowly stop being as bratty as they originally were. This would make Baki relieved and happy because his job wouldn't be as much of a hellhole as before and he would try even harder to be there for the three even if they did nothing in return or acted as though they didn't like it. The siblings lost their mother at a young age and Rasa was too busy or pressed to spend much time with them so they had likely never had the support Baki offered, and if they did it never lasted long, so they likely would have at least been decent towards Baki until all grew and realized that he had become a wonderful role model and shoulder to rest on for them.

Baki's character has so little development and his actions can be read so many ways, but this was what I chose and both D and E grabbed it up like little goblins. Personally, I believe that unless they were a caring and kind person someone would not be willing to get to know Gaara, who was feared by literally everyone, and thus would not believe he was necessary for the success of the village. So basically, we all see Baki as a relatively open and caring guy who eventually learns to love the siblings unconditionally and becomes their parental figure because they have no one else to turn to, for he is the only willing one and their actual parents are dead.

So @lesbian-space-ranger and I accidentally created a new Zosan AU that we’ve been talking about since last night. A note: half of this is me summarizing, half of it is pulled directly from Discord because Cas (lesbian-space-ranger) has such great ideas.

This is a long post. I don’t feel like putting it under a read more. So. Enjoy. Or keep scrolling. Either works.

So this post happened

These roles just came to me. Didn’t need to give it much thought because Sanji has the appearance and demeanor of a lead singer and I like the idea of him using his skilled hands to play piano at the same time.

I also watched the movie Rocketman earlier in the week. You know, that Elton John biopic. I adored it and it’s been heavy on my mind lately and I liked the idea of Sanji giving a high energy performance from the piano. (Sir Elton John’s music comes into play later.)

And as for Zoro, I find the bass and/or the beat the sexiest part of the music in a song and, naturally, I can see him rocking at either.

So I asked Cas if she had any other headcanons for this AU and this thing is too good to not share.

Yeah, so Zoro and Sanji are in a boy band with Usopp and Luffy. Luffy started the band. Luffy does guitar, Zoro is on bass, Usopp is on drums, and Sanji is on keyboard and vocals.

Nami is their manager. She works them hard and has taken a 40% cut of the profits because of the guys’ naivete and inexperience. But she’s why they took off. She booked their gigs at every venue she could manage, no matter how small.

They got their big break when Nami met Vivi, who’s a talent scout for the record label Baroque Works. Nami insisted that Vivi had to see the boys perform because they’re something else and Vivi’s heard that a thousand times, but she agreed because Nami is cute. Nami and Vivi are dating. Also, re Baroque Works: Crocodile looks like a sleazy music producer, doesn’t he? So does Doflamingo.

So Sanji is the pretty one, Luffy is the funny one, Zoro is the quiet/broody one, and Usopp is the smart one.

Zoro has a lot of deals with fitness brands, but secretly finds the famous life unfulfilling. This comes back later, so keep that in your back pocket.

Robin runs their social media. She’s so good at her job, running all of their accounts and tweeting simultaneously, you’d swear she had four sets of hands. Wink.

Franky does pyrotechnics/lighting.

Brook is their stylist.

Chopper was their first real fan. He and Zoro grew up in the same neighborhood and Chopper just always idolized him. He followed them before anyone knew their names. He was their hype man, saying encouraging things like "I know you guys are gonna be great!" He believed in them even when they didn't believe in themselves.

Usopp set up their recordings before they got signed because he’s savvy. And then Chopper would sell their crappy CDs. At these tiny gigs. Like coffeehouses and stuff.

Sanji can play keyboard because his parents forced him to play piano as a kid. They had this idea that classical music would teach him discipline and make him smarter. This is how he meets Zeff. Zeff’s your typical stern instructor, but he’s the first adult to ask Sanji what he actually wants and likes. Zeff sees Sanji’s not into it so he asks him what music he likes and Sanji tells him he likes pop, so Zeff gives Sanji a more rounded education. This includes Elton John because I say so. It did inspire me to put Sanji on keyboard, after all.

But other than being Sanji’s piano instructor, Zeff becomes the one positive adult figure in young Sanji’s life and he becomes something of a mentor figure for him. Zeff has a garden and he lets Sanji work in it with him. This garden is how Sanji gets his “little eggplant” nickname. Sanji pulls an eggplant out before it’s ready and it’s so small and pitiful and Zeff won’t let him live it down. Like, Sanji keeps in touch with Zeff even into adulthood and after he makes it big and he still calls Sanji little eggplant.

Zoro and Sanji are always doing that, "Kind of flirting, not really” thing on stage. Sanji is always like walking up to Zoro on stage and acting like he's going to kiss him but pushing him away at the last moment. And it's this huge mystery whether they're actually an item or not. This comes from Nami. Sanji and Zoro have this natural chemistry with each other that leads to speculation and Nami, knowing how boy band fan bases work, saw dollar signs. But it’s not just pragmatism on her part; she knows that one cannot simply go up to Zoro and Sanji and say “You obviously like each other. You should date.” So she makes money and helps her friends find happiness.

Usopp has speculation going on as well. People are always confused as to who he’s dating. Tabloids keep being like "Usopp dumped Nami and is now dating Luffy!" "Luffy Scorned?" "Luffy ditches Usopp and steals his girl!" And they just think the entire thing is hilarious. They collect headlines. The answer is Usopp is dating Luffy and Nami and Luffy and Nami just become really affectionate with each other after dating Usopp long enough. Also Nami is dating Vivi, like I mentioned, and sometimes Nami brings her on as a plus one.

Sanji and Zoro keep giving conflicting answers about their relationship status. Like they'll tell one person they hate each other and another person they're gonna get married someday. Sanji has to walk this fine line of being "in love" with all of his female fans and also "in love" with Zoro. Or not. Who knows? Like Sanji enjoys the attention but he really really plays shit up for his fangirls. This makes Sanji even more popular. Just picture pages upon pages of Sanji/Reader and “Zanji” fics on Wattpad. Nami is one smart lady. "I am the smartest, prettiest, most clever person alive."

Zosan getting together really is just a bunch of Fake Dating tropes. At first it really is just to get more press for the band. Nami schemes with Usopp and Robin to push them together. Robin's a social media genius and knows how to craft tweets and Instagram posts that fans will overanalyze.

Meanwhile eventually Zoro and Sanji admit to each other they have actual feelings and one day Usopp finds Sanji sleeping in Zoro's bed, both of them completely tuckered out. But they don’t know Nami crafted this. They just come clean and hope she won't be mad and she's like, "Yes! Finally!" and they're like "What?" and she's like, "I've been waiting for you two to realize you have actual feelings. Did you really think I'd just use you for profit like that?" and they're both like "Yes" "Of course"

Zoro’s mad at her for meddling. Secretly he’s grateful, but he doesn’t want to give her the satisfaction and he’s yelling until Sanji grabs his hand and he just calms down.

And to bring Elton John back into the picture, just picture Sanji doing a cover of “Your Song” and uploading it online and thinking about Zoro. Naturally the comments are abuzz with people speculating that he’s singing about Zoro. And like. Onstage Sanji does his rendition and sends these small glances Zoro’s way, partially because he knows it’ll get the band a lot of attention, partially because that song is sweet and beautiful and it’s such a simple way to explain his feelings. (There is a reason why Moulin Rouge included it!!) I imagine this happens before they come clean to each other. Like, Zoro comes to him and is all “I keep thinking about that song you did...” And they go from there.

And eventually the band comes to its natural end.

Usopp goes solo and flourishes, working as a songwriter and a producer. He wrote the band’s songs and he’s had a drum kit since he was, like, ten and he can make his own beats. He’s not the singing type (though he is good at it and could reach new heights if he came out of his shell), so he’s the kind of artist who makes the beat and then gets super famous pop singers to feature on his tracks. But he also writes songs for other singers and is so good at it and produces other artists’ tracks. I also like the idea that he’s taught himself to play multiple instruments, but he prefers the drums/percussion. He totally played percussion in school and was in marching band. I was in marching band for one year. I loathed every second of it, but I know he’d be phenomenal in drum corps.

Luffy isn’t much in music anymore, but he keeps himself busy. He’s something of an influencer, the kind of celebrity who gets paid to wear fashion brands’ clothing. He’s also Usopp’s trophy husband, living off the money he made off the band. Usopp grew wise to Nami’s antics and made sure he and Luffy would live comfortably for the rest of their lives, even if Usopp were to retire. Luffy also is secretly a Buzzfeed journalist because it’s fun for him to write these hit articles and people not know it’s him because he’s writing on this super bland pseudonym.

And then there’s Zosan. They have a falling out after the band splits and go their separate ways.

Sanji quits being a professional singer because he’s tired of the prying into his personal life, but he still mentors and/or teaches. He has a string of girlfriends and finds no fulfillment in those relationships because the women are only interested in his celebrity.

And they aren’t Zoro.

Zoro tried branching off into commercials for fitness, but his heart wasn’t in it. He kind of takes up ranching on a whim and learns that he’s really good at it. He likes the physical labor, the quiet, being away from it all, nobody knowing his name. He doesn’t pursue anyone after Sanji because he feels like if it’s meant to be, someone will appear.

And Sanji does.

Sanji finds out where Zoro is through Luffy. So he makes his way to the ranch and finds Zoro and Sanji is all “Come back. I miss you.”

And there’s just a lot of soft Zosan content during Sanji’s visit. Sanji’s always been afraid of horses, but he’s not afraid when he’s with Zoro, and Zoro teaches him they can be gentle creatures, it’s just that you just have to respect them. (Ha. Get it?) Zoro takes Sanji on a ride and they go out and he takes him up the mountain and shows him how beautiful the view is. Sanji's watching the sunset and he's like, "Damn that's the prettiest thing I've ever seen." And Zoro is looking at Sanji and he says, "It sure is." And Sanji's like, "you're not... even looking." And Zoro's like, "No, I'm looking alright. Prettiest thing I've ever seen for sure."

More soft things like Zoro taking off his cowboy hat and putting it on Sanji. Them sitting by the fire, Zoro playing acoustic while Sanji sings. Whenever people see them they’ll ask them if they’re musicians and they share a knowing smile and say “Yeah. Something like that.”

And Zoro convinces Sanji to move out there with him. The others come to visit. Luffy and Chopper are obsessed with the cows and horses and the chickens. Luffy wants, like, eight pet chickens. Usopp is skeptical. Doesn’t believe Lu can look after a pet.

And it kind of ends there. It was us going back and forth, oftentimes out of chronological order, and so here I am putting it all together because it’s too good not to share. But it was a lot of fun.

Please give me your amami essay, I'd like to know the TEA! I was also gonna ask for the mastermind essay, but honestly I REALLY wanna hear your thoughts on his characterization (and your thoughts on his shitty fanon characterization)

HOOO BOY OKAY. this is good, it gives me an excuse to procrastinate on reading that new amasai fic on the latest feed. (note that i REALLY WANT TO READ IT, i’m just anticipating commenting and tbh the spoons,,, i lack them. it’s okay though i’ll get over it.)

so!!! let’s start with general attitude, because i think that amami’s is really unique. he’s a subversive character. in general i feel like that was the biggest goal with his character design and personality combination-- he looks like a total playboy, kaede even comments as much moooore than once. but he’s the absolute opposite. i’ll rant about that in a bit. i’ve already gone off on a tangent and i said i was gonna talk about attitude.

amami is laid back, but not to the point of complacency. y’know what i mean? like, he’s relaxed, but he’s on his guard, too. his speaking style is pretty casual (typically he’ll greet people with a “hey,” whenever he’s slightly uncomfortable he’ll probably say “haha”... this isn’t necessarily a canon thing but i like it when people have him talking in sentence fragments. ex. “forgot to grab my jacket” or “wanted to get a snack” sort of thing) and that’s just,,, the type of person he is. he’s casual. it’s remarkable considering how wealthy amami is-- though bear in mind, he still IS wealthy, so there are bound to be things he doesn’t understand about people-- that he can be so normal and like, down to earth, in a way. when people mess around with him he’ll probably just laugh it off.

to cite a fic i read once that had REALLY phenomenal characterisation, imo, ouma ends up dumping a bucket of water on amami’s head (on accident; there are some semantics and i won’t get into it but again the fic is really good and funny and you should totally read it) and amami just squeezes out his shirt and makes a couple cracks before walking away. (sorry this isn’t meant to be a “dumping love on fics” post but GOD that fic is hysterical.) he’s an enabler too, at least i think so-- remember that anthology chapter where kaede, shuichi, and kaito are trying to catch ouma and kaito sets an “amami trap” to stop him? all ouma has to do is flutter his eyelashes and go “pleeeaaase let me go amam~niichan!” and then he just. he does. what a fucking doormat i can’t believe him.

he’s like that though. i feel like big brother stuff is kind of his weakness. (and not in a kinky way alright i will destroy you. he might make a joke about having a sister complex in one of his ftes but he DOESNT that joke was just tasteless COME ON RANTARO WHFKLDSJFK) which brings me to his whole older brother thing, because like,,, YEAH. guy grew up with twelve younger sisters!!! and he remarked in his ftes with shuichi that they’re mostly step sisters, which means he just.... has a nurturing personality. i mean amami is somewhat conservative (if you try to come on to him during salmon mode you will be brutally rebuffed; amami tells u to keep your horny thoughts to yourself, though you shouldn’t be ashamed of having them) so i imagine he’s not the biggest fan of his father’s tendencies-- not that i don’t NECESSARILY interpret his father’s behaviour as him sleeping around.... it’s possible he just likes children and deliberately marries women who already have kids so he can take them... i mean it’s exceedingly decent to keep considering ur step children to be your children after a divorce so i have a hard time reconciling this common image of rantaro’s dad as some kind of player figure with the impression i got of him in my head but that’s just my daddy issues coming into play again so ignore me-- and yet he still considers all his sisters to be his sisters.

not to mention he feels a great deal of like, responsibility, when it comes to taking care of them. i find it impossible to believe that all the losses were his fault. you could ARGUE that the one he tells you about with his younger sister was to be blamed on him? but i mean, amami is a child. he didn’t even know his sister was following him out. sure he blames himself for it but there’s no real good way to blame him just considering that,,, he’s a kid. and he was so young-- he was obviously so young-- when it happened. so like, not to be all Good and Bad on you, but i do feel that amami is fundamentally a good reason. and you SEE that too, in the killing game. i’m certain he was on the fence about trusting that note he woke up with. would you trust it? he had no memory whatsoever of writing it, all he had were the words “ultimate hunt” and a map of the school to guide his way. i imagine he wasn’t even sure if he should do what the note said. but then ryoma started talking about sacrificing himself for everyone else, and rantaro probably thought, “well... if i have a way to get us out of here, even if it doesn’t work, i can’t just let ryoma sacrifice himself without having tried.”

rantaro is self-reliant too, i think. in the talent development plan mukuro remarks that she noticed he was injured a good number of times, but never said anything about it because she felt like he was trying to keep it under wraps. (note: good idea for an amami and mukuro friendship fic. must write. someone remind me.) i think amami kind of feels isolated from his classmates? either because he has these perceived notions of like, independence and whatever, not burdening anybody else with his problems (honestly not to go chabashira on main but wtf men ask for help c’mon i promise if you find a person who’s worth being in ur life they won’t treat you like shit for feeling ur feelings) or just because he’s not around a lot. i think amami is the type of person to invalidate his own problems a lot, or at least downplay them to others. he blames himself for all his sisters going missing, took the responsibility to find them all. you know the blow that’s going to be to his education? traveling around the world looking for twelve different people? and he plans to keep doing that!!! forever!!! ugh ;-; poor babey. but anyway i feel like he doesn’t want to tell anybody about his problems because he feels like it’s his thing to deal with.

i also believe that rantaro is a bit prideful. i mean, anyone can be prideful under the correct circumstances, and in fact there is a great deal of pride that simply isn’t addressed by the fandom in analysing characters and that makes me really sad because pride is such a SEXY character flaw but i’ll leave that alone for now. he hates being told to give up on what he’s doing. i mean everyone in his life has been telling him to stop looking for his sisters. that’s got to suck, but also, DAMN look at what his reaction was. this utter refusal to open up to anybody. shuichi’s ftes with him are spent pretty much just trying to get amami to stop squirreling around and actually TALK to him. amami asks shuichi at one point if he has any siblings and when the response is negative, amami immediately assumes that shuichi wouldn’t understand, would tell him to quit. just like everyone else.

(i mean, even with kiyo and mukuro, whose circumstances mirror his almost painfully at least in willingness to sacrifice stuff for their siblings, he doesn’t tell them what he’s doing, just that he’s doing it for his sister-- singular-- and that he would do anything for her. kiyo and mukuro!! out of ANYBODY, they would understand. in tdp they DO talk about it-- kiyo encourages him to keep searching-- as his friend...... fuck amaguji is such a good ship even if the implications of kiyo saying he wants to meet rantaro’s sister after he finds her bc she must be suuuuch a good person if he’s doing all this for her are uhhh not great-- and mukuro immediately understands when he says it’s to do with his younger sister. like, full stop. she just goes “okay” and goes serious. all at once. damn rantaro, mukuro, and kiyo really do be a power trio huh. i need to write more fic about them i miss them.)

this is more into baseless conjecture so take this as you will, but i also think rantaro is kind of,,, easily distracted lmao. he mentions helping out a village with a disease-- been a while since i’ve seen his ftes, sorry for any inconsistencies-- among other shit and like... bro what are you DOING. you have sisters to find. and he can’t be getting injured all the time, getting wrapped up with gang violence and all that, looking for people who were lost traveling. i mean sure, you could say they went all over the world and got wrapped up in all sorts of mess, but more likely they stayed in roughly the same area, waiting for him to come back. and also? i have a hard time believing his sisters were lost in these remote forest places people always put them. COME ON, who the fuck goes to some village for a vacation? a RICH person no less. i’m on another tangent. sorry. but yeah, i love the people who write rantaro as an absolute airhead. i headcanon that he has no way of judging the passing of time and thus is the absolute worst in the bathroom bc he sits there for twenty minutes thinking about the universe and then walks out like “:) ok ready to go” like wtf are you even doing there stupid akljdf anyway.

i think rantaro is softhearted and thoughtful. in his ftes with kaede he demonstrates an ability to look past what people show at surface level-- you can ask him about miu, kiibo, or kiyo and he’ll give u Good Fucking Insight(tm)-- and analyse their intentions more closely. and i mean this is just from a couple day’s interaction. he’s down to earth for sure, understanding when people are intimidated but also caring and observant. (his “talk about a first impression” line is so fuckaindgf.... good for his characterisation. i love romantic amamatsu but he so clearly takes an older brother role in those ftes, he’s really such a sweetheart,,,, hnadhfkj ;w;) rantaro is just. he’s patient with people. and selfless and kind. idk it’s all the good stuff. warm smiles and indulgence. all the way. probably lets kokichi steal his lunch.

THAT BEING SAID: i think rantaro also has a very serious streak. he doesn’t show it a lot but there are moments. he’s self-sacrificing-- i mean, obviously. he was the ultimate survivor, after all. some people hc that he got there by killing, or maybe everyone else in his game died but one person, but bro that doesn’t make any sense???? no. what happened was there were probably like three people left, and monokuma was like “one has to be sacrificed” and rantaro thought, welp. it’ll be me then. and i wouldn’t say the choice would be immediate because rantaro DOES has self preservation instincts-- he’s only human-- but i don’t think he’d have let anybody else make that decision. i think ultimately he would try to protect other people.

he can be scarily confrontational too. i do believe he’d usually only do it in the defense of others-- like, his base instinct is to protect. i read a fic once (oumami, unfortunately) where ouma was committing crimes and went to hide behind rantaro and rantaro instinctively moved to protect him, and that’s.... that’s good characterisation. point one to the oumami stans, point zero to me. motherfucker. (love u oumami stans, it’s just not my thing.) i really like it in fics when he’s stern, lecturing people for hurting other people, but i also think rantaro is too understanding to be truly unforgiving. like if two people got into an argument and one came out of it more hurt than the other, i don’t believe that amami would be unsympathetic to the less hurt one. i think he’s mature enough to take a look at the situation and go, well, okay.

i think he’d be TERRIFYING when angry. he’s patient, y’know? so it takes a lot to get him to that point. he’s really, ah, accommodating of people. puts up with a lot of bs kind of thing. but i imagine the best way to get him to snap is by hurting someone he cares about. and at that point: ur fucked. i’ve never written it before because i’m terrified of what i’d do with that kind of power but.... imagine the shuichi whump. holy god.

i’m NOT here to talk about shuichi whump (though i’m down to do that any time of day believe me) so i’m gonna like. shhhhiiiiiiffft.

i project on characters a lot so at this point it’s difficult to distinguish if some of my characterisation things are like, actually characterisation things? or just me venting, so like, take nothing i say as canon, but also,,, akdsjf we love a man who bottles up his emotions.

because rantaro just doesn’t have the TIME to be crying all over the place. he was probably a total wreck when he lost his first sister. and his second. and maybe even his third. but then he started to gather his composure, more and more. because if there’s anything that rantaro has in excess, it’s composure. the more losses he suffers the more of a shield he builds up. and the self hatred and the guilt and the blame and the responsibility are piling up and up and up, but god he hates it when other people see him sad, because he needs to be the strong one, he can’t just pile that up on other people. that’s not their weight to carry, and besides, he’s the older brother, he should be able to deal with his own problems. he’d just be burdening the people he cares about by letting them see his demons.

and then he doesn’t have any coping mechanisms because he never lets himself feel enough to cope, and when people get close enough to actually CARE about him, when people notice he’s upset or struggling and offer him help, he doesn’t know how to deal with it-- and god he hates lashing out at people but it’s so much easier to deal with the consequences of being mean than the consequences of breaking down. only conflict is scary when he’s one of the causes so he needs time to recover, and well, what better way to do that than to get on a plane or a boat and go look for his sisters? after all he’s wasting time whenever he’s just sitting around, they’re still out there and he needs to find them, so might as well just keep pushing himself to the limits, because it’s his fault they’re lost anyway...

something mukuro said to rantaro in the talent development plan stuck in my brain. like, initially it’s just a funny and cute interaction (rantaro even blushes and a blushing rantaro is a GOOD FUCKING RANTARO) but when i thought about it more i was like.... huh. hm. angst ideas. mukuro makes a joke about rantaro going over to her stand at the festival to flirt with her-- i think that’s the context, i know it’s play-boy related-- and rantaro assures her (as he always does) that he’s not that kind of guy, and mukuro agrees, saying she was just pulling his leg and that he seems like the kind of person who gets dumped because he doesn’t show his emotions enough. rantaro laughs, blushes, and says “haha, not touching that one,” and akdjfnnnnnn god mukuro you’re so blunt i love you fkdjf but wow. i usually have rantaro as not having dated anyone, just because i feel like he kind of hyperfocuses on finding his sisters? and given that he’s like sixteen (seventeen at the MOST) there’s not much of a timeline for when his sisters got lost. in my fic search i had to cram all the losses into a four-year period and damn that was rough. anyway i just don’t think he’d really prioritise romance. but that reaction implies that that’s EXACTLY his experience with romance, which makes a bit of sense because mukuro is ridiculously sharp, and also it’s,, it’s just sad idk poor rantaro. getting dumped because he’s like the emotional equivalent of a doorknob when it comes to his own feelings.

i do think rantaro is a bit cowardly. not in the sense that he’d shy away from danger-- i think he’d RUSH INTO IT HEAD FIRST because he’s a man or whatever, i know he respects women but he does seem to hold some of those very stereotypically masculine ideals of constantly protecting those around him, which is like.... ok toxic masculinity mcgee can u and kaito stop throwing hands every time u see each other ty-- but more in the sense that he avoids,,, confrontation. emotional confrontation just ain’t his thing. and i think he’d rather run away from it or otherwise find some way of ignoring it than try to address his problems.

he would, with that in mind, probably try to associate with people who don’t push the matter. kiyo and mukuro, for example. they both have a fair amount of baggage themselves so they’d probably be respectful. ryoma is lowkey enough that he just, he wouldn’t bring that shit up, that’s uncool. i also think rantaro would get along REALLY WELL with kaito, and i actually don’t think kaito would pull his sidekick stuff with him? just because in a way they’re kind of kindred spirits, and i think kaito would see an ally in rantaro before seeing someone to try to nurture, so they’d probably have some kind of a truce like, if you don’t force me to be vulnerable, i won’t force you. one of the reasons why i love amamota so much is because it involves the two of them growing to care about each other beyond that sort of unhealthy camaraderie and breaking down each other’s barriers and i just..... hhnnfhhdkfj they could be so good for each other but nobody wants to talk about thatjslfkj

you weren’t asking for my amamota mess lmao sorry anon i get sidetracked SO easily. but yeah, amami gravitates towards people who wouldn’t try to get him to be more honest with himself. and i honestly think the v3 cast would be pretty good about that overall, except for shuichi who is a detective and has a habit of sticking his nose in places it shouldn’t be, but i see no reason to write that out because amami’s ftes already display that beautifully. (well, that’s a lie, i’m absolutely plotting out a slowburn in my head already that involves shuichi stripping down his walls one by one, but forget about all of that rn we don’t need to talk about why amasaimota is my ot3.) also he is softer on childish people like ouma and himiko. ain’t nobody wants to TALK TO ME about how brilliant it would be if rantaro and hiyoko were friends because hiyoko has such problems in that department and he would take one look at her and go hm. i’m adopting her. and he’s so fucking patient and nice and she’d lose the will to make fun of him and i have to do ALL THE GODDAMN WORK AROUND HERE but it’s fine. at least i get to write it.

i’ve described the fundamentals of his characterisation pretty well by now i think. i have some throwaway headcanons, like uhh,,

i said “some throwaway headcanons” but i ended up listing way more than i mean to. i’ll make a separate list of my rantaro headcanons someday and talk about them all in detail but for now, uh, there’s that.

SO AS FOR THE RANTARO CHARACTERISATIONS I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE:

god where to fucking begin. actually i know exactly where to begin. it’s my least favourite one just because, like i said at the very beginning, rantaro is a subversive character. i mean i think he’s kind of a low hanging fruit when it comes to that. there are plenty of other subversive characters in the dr series but rantaro is like that. you expect a flirt and u get,,, a sweetheart. but then some people (usually the ones who ship him with female characters exclusively though i will see it on occasion in an amasai or oumami fic) decide to throw that out the window and make him a total playboy!! and listen, i have no problem with people who are a little flirty. we’re kids!! flirt ur heart out!!! and hey, that’s not what this is about but y’know what? so long as everything is safe, sane, and consensual, then yeah!! exercise your sexual freedom and sleep with whoever you want to!!! i don’t think there’s anything wrong with messing around a little, dating who u wanna and experimenting with ur tastes and preferences. if rantaro WAS a playboy, then there would be nothing wrong with that. i would love him just the same because he’s such a fundamentally GOOD character.

except that.... he’s.......... NOT. you slaughter one of the biggest aspects of his character by throwing away what matters to him and making him some hunky-deep-voice-dreamboat dude meant to sweep kaede/tsumugi/whomsteverthefuck off her feet. rantaro is one of those characters where he’s so blatantly not that kind of person, and it’s like. it’s an affront, almost, to portray him that way? and i do believe you should have the freedom to write what you want, since we’re in that age (aside from romanticised pedophilia and incest; that shit ain’t cute, i say this often but pro-ship DNI) where u should be able to take some liberties, but it’s just. hnnn. it’s so frustrating. rantaro does not know how to smolder! if he DID smolder, he wouldn’t even realise he was doing it. he doesn’t have people lying at his feet, okay? he’s too flaky for that. i wouldn’t say he’s unreliable but he definitely ain’t at school as much as he should be.

another one that i hate: st-stalker? what the fuck? that is not sexy that is creepy and weird?

another another one that i hate: yandere? what the FUCK??? that is not sexy that is glorified ABUSE???? the yandere trope is AWFUL bc you’re taking a controlling relationship and turning it into a fetish. NO. if he limits ur contact with other people, if he follows u everywhere, if he threatens ur loved ones, if he tries to control you, ladies and gents and nonbinaries, he’s not a yandere, he’s an abuser and you need a fucking restraining order. actually, people of ANY gender or sex can perpetuate this behaviour and IT IS NOT CUTE. I DO NOT GIVE A FUCK WHAT BOUNDARIES U SET IN PLACE, IF YOUR FREEDOM IS BEING RESTRICTED THAT IS ABUSE.

hate it when people make rantaro violent. hate it when people make rantaro a murderer. hate it when people make rantaro controlling. hate it when people make rantaro overtly sexual. some kind of sultry deep voice dominant kind of figure. dude, what the fuck? i don’t,, want to make any public comments about sex positions because i think that’s kind of Strange to just talk about on a post, but i do think that the way people portray him for their smuts is,,, idk it’s weird. i’m not gonna kinkshame u but like. :eyes:

i will however accept rantaro as a thrillseeker, or a highstrung rich boy, or a total space cadet, or a himbo, or a cryptid. these are all very good interpretations of the Mans. just, like. be wary of making him two dimensional. a good character is multifaceted. if you can take a trait that clashes with all of these and SELL ME ON IT, i will buy it. if u give me good justifications, or even just good writing?? then i will accept it.

the long and the short of it is, anon, he’s my favourite so i think about him a lot. i love writing rantaro. he’s just, he’s a Guy. y’know? He’s A Good Dude, If You’ll Give Him A Shot. :) we don’t get to see very much of him but i think that there’s plenty of material if you overanalyse everything, which, as you probably all know by now,,,, i absolutely do.

On Aspie Supremacy and the Aspergian

CW: bullying, suicide, aspie supremacy

I feel the need to talk to you guys about what has been happening on autistic twitter lately surrounding the autistic website The Aspergian. I write for The Aspergian. Here are some of my articles:

While I am white, cishet, and speaking, I am in the minority at The Aspergian.

The majority of contributors are mostly either LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, or high support needs.

Despite this, the name The Aspergian makes many autistic people uncomfortable. Several ASAN members have spoken out condemning the name.

In these days of #AltAutism, the autistic dark web and other aspie supremacists have turned the word Aspergers into a borderline slur.

Aspergers and “Aspergian” are becoming dog whistles for function labels, white supremacy and incels.

The founder of The Aspergian knows that. That’s why she named it The Aspergian.

With every pro-RPM, pro-Neurodiversity, feminist, intersectional article The Aspergian publishes, it gets left wing values all over Aspergers. If you google Aspergian now, all you will find are social justice articles.

And the AltAutism folks HATE IT.

But so do a lot of autistic advocates, for whom “Aspergers” conjures up a lot of trauma.

When I first told my closest living friend about being autistic, it was the first person I'd told other than my husband. This was her response:

Though she knew I was going to be tested, she'd continued to use the word Asperger's. I'd been helping her through the process of understanding her son and autism. I loved her deeply. I still do. But she blocked me on social media and told everyone before I was ready to come out.

So instantly all my social media was flooded with all these speculative and veiled comments I could only see portions of, and I was humiliated. I was a new mother struggling and lost my support system. She thought it was sinister I used the same label as her son. Minimizing.

Autism was my diagnosis. She didn't know that I was made to believe I was possessed by demons in my youth or all the hell I'd endured and all the struggles I had like being the last person in my school who learned to read six years late. She knew an articulate adult.

I had postpartum anxiety and severe breastfeeding aversion but my child wouldn't eat food. So it was BF constantly or a feeding tube. And no meds for me.

So I thought maybe the problem was me saying autism instead of Asperger's. My husband was aspie and always identified that way. I'd been a teacher with largely autistic classes for years. Those with that diagnosis were often intellectually disabled.

I needed help. I joined about 20-30 autistic groups and made the mistake of saying that I was aspie. I didn't want to be insulting and have another incident like what happened the first time I told someone. It didn't go well. I had no idea of the stigma at the time.

And I had no idea why I was being called a supremacist, shiny, a Nazi, ableist, etc. I argued against those claims because I'm definitely not those things. I thought I'd entered a den of extremists. I got booted. Then another group I entered started with, "Oh, there's the Nazi."

In that tweet thread, Terra goes on to say that it occurred to her that her best friend who had recently committed suicide might have sought out the autistic community before he died. And she went to look and found that he had posted and been dogpiled in the same manner. The day before he died.

Terra Vance is desperately anti supremacy. But she is also desperately anti bullying. And she felt that if people couldn’t say “I’m autistic” without losing loved ones and “I’m aspie” without being called a supremacist, then autistic people were being put in a very tight corner.

Especially since Aspergers is still an extant diagnosis pretty much everywhere but North America so people are getting shunned from the autistic community because of their DIAGNOSIS.

That’s why she named it The Aspergian.

And you know what?

The aspie supremacists HATE IT.

They hate that their dog whistle is now a popular and booming hub of Neurodiversity, anti-ABA, and intersectionality.

They hate that The Aspergian is republishing deleted Wikipedia articles of autistic nonspeakers, which the autistic dark web worked hard to get removed.

They hate that we promote FC and RPM and other AAC. They hate that we keep claiming that autism and Aspergers are the same thing.

They don’t want to share space with nonspeakers and black women. They’re a bunch of altright white incels and The Aspergian is getting autism and neurodiversity over their shiny high functioning boots.

Worst of all, we’re reaching PARENTS.

Our most popular articles are not aimed at fellow autistic people. They are aimed at NTs, parents, laymen, trying to educate them about autism.

My article on ABA went viral and made so many ABA therapists angry. It was beautiful.

Understanding autism from a neurodivergent, autism-acceptance, Autism-Speaks-Is-Bad, anti-ABA, pro-AAC website.

The ADW HATE that.

So what do they do?

They stir up shit about the name. The autistic dark web have a bunch of sock accounts which they use to deliberately stir up shit among the #ActuallyAutistic tag on twitter so they can screenshot stuff and repost it out of context to further discredit autistic people.

So they know the ND crowd resent Aspergers. So they deliberately stir up crap about The Aspergian’s name and everybody eats it up.

They also spread lies like that we are racist and don’t have any contributors of colour (they block the BIPOC contributors who argue against this lie).

They claim that we plagiarize. But in fact each contributor owns their own content and is free to publish in other places and often they do.

But mostly they bitch about the name.

And I get it. I do. Aspergers brings up a lot of bad feelings and associations, especially since the anti-ND movement started pushing the “Asperger was a Nazi” stuff in order to discredit Steve Silberman’s book Neurotribes.

But we can’t make Asperger’s a slur. It’s still an existing diagnosis all around the world. Happily it IS being removed from the ICD 11 in 2022 but it’s going to take decades to change the assumptions around that word.

Terra wants “Aspergers” to become synonymous with autism. No difference. No barriers. No judgements. Not because she loves or even identifies with Aspergers. Her diagnosis is autistic and she calls herself autistic. But she doesn’t think autistic people should be bullied over a label. It smacks of exclusionism.

The founder of The Aspergian feels that no autistic person should be bullied to the point of death or near-death because of their diagnosis, or because they have been trained to say they have Aspergers so NTs won’t pull the whole “you don’t look autistic” crap.

The autistic community, of ALL communities, should be the most understanding of misunderstanding. We should be the most able to understand that people don’t always mean what it sounds like they mean.

“Aspergers” is not a slur. It is not a supremacist term. At worst it is an outdated functioning label. At best it is a synonym for autism.

And it won’t become a dog whistle. Because The Aspergian won’t allow it.
