Chapter 19
Danny fell silent after their recount of everything they had gone through, from when they died, all the to how they became king. They had shared bits and pieces with Dan and compared their live up till the Nasty Burger incident and how Danny’s was different after Dan was sealed away but it had never been in such detail or in one whole sitting. It felt like a weight, they didn’t know they had, had been lifted off their shoulders.
They had a brother, a blood related older sister who understands the feeling of being thrust into a hero role and a brother-in-law had also experienced finding out he was an entirely different race than they had been raised as. Not to mention their niece and now, officially, their daughter.
They had a family, people who understood in ways their friends and Jazz had never been able to do. They new their true heritage, even if half was still missing. They felt more whole than they’d ever felt, even before the accident. All the little odd behaviours they’d has a a child, that the Fentons had basically trained them out of doing, that they were told was wrong. They finally knew why and that they had in fact been normal behaviours for a mer-child.
Looking over to where Rukia and Elle were playing… they were relieved and happy that Elle would be able to embrace all of her instinct from the start. They still found themself holding back or suppressing some instincts, even around others of their kind. Years of being told, trained, to act human were hard to shake off.
****
Clock Work had come to inform them that the claiming ceremony was ready and the family of siblings and nieces made their way to the private room. The ceremony was short and sweet. An exchange of ectoplasm and a sworn oath of familial bond.
They had all been surprised, excluding Clock Work who was acting as the main witness, when Elle was engulfed in a bright light. Once it had faded they were met with a human looking Elle as a three year old.
Clock Work was quick to explain that the ceremony had corrected the unnatural age progression that Vlad had put her through in the pod, as well as the error in her make up that had made her susceptible to destabilisation, even with the Ecto dejecto. She was now a true Halfa. Her memory was still intact but she would now act more her true age.
Danny had scooped Elle up and held her close, they had always had the fear, that she would one day disintegrate and they would not be able to help her. This was one less fear they had to worry about. She was safe and healthy and she will never destabilise again.
****
Dan sighed as he slumped back into his chair. Dan had a strange mix of emotions, he wanted to go after Vlad for what he had done but he was happy to have another niece, there was also the jumbled thought on if Elle could be counted as his as well or if, despite being the same person, their genetics were different.
It was something to look into, for curiosities sake, for all they knew they could actually be brothers… their mother could travel dimensions for fucks sake, it was in the realm of possibility. Did Clock Work know? Who was he kidding, they probably did. Continuing that thought he wondered if they had the same father? Was a different time period also considered a different universe? It that was the case, how did he end up the same in the same environment, with the same people? He new of other Earths, thanks to his time with the JL. They had made no progress in finding their father…
Maybe it was time they asked Clock Work directly. He didn’t have much hope in finding him nor that he would be happy to learn about them, to be honest, unless Clock Work hinted or told them where to look. Considering time, would their father even be alive now? They didn’t have a time frame or any indication of what time period or universe he was from. He didn’t particularly care either way but Danny…He would keep looking for his brother’s sake.
His intrusive thoughts were interrupted by a pat to his leg, looking down he came face-to-face with his youngest niece.
“Hi!” The smile on the three year olds face made him wary. It was to much like Danny’s, when they were up to something, to not be suspicious. Dan knew for a fact he did not smile like that when planning something. Danny had told him many times he had more of a smirk, Danny, and therefore Elle, had a smile that radiated to much innocence that anyone who was not familiar with the little gremlin would never suspect the chaos they had, were causing or will cause in the future.
“Hi… can I help you?” He continued to watch for any hint of what she was up to, as her eyes widened and her smile brightened, his senses prickled further. Danny had caught him off guard, more times than he’d like to admit, with that look. Were her eyes sparkling…?
“Can I call you Uncle Udon too?” Dan stared before slumping further into his chair, in resignation. ‘I’m never going to shake this nickname now.’ His siblings’ laughter and his older niece’s giggles just further cemented the thought.
****
Their older sister and her family stayed with them for a week after the coronation and Dan had informed the JL that both he and Phantom would be off world for the week and had Katana checking in with Japan during the week while Superman had offered to do a few flybys during his free time. Their claimed haunt was relatively problem free but they did suffer natural disasters at certain times of the year. Though they were quick to boot anyone who planned to cause trouble, before it could truly begin.
It had been nice, all the heavy stuff had been felt with on the first day and that left the rest of the week to relax and bond as a family. Rukia and Elle had become fast friends and they Danny, Lucia and Kaito got to know each other more and they had learned more about their Mother and the world their sister lived in. Sharing stories of being teen heroes in worlds that had no other heroes to guid them. Danny was happy.
Once their sister and her family had gone home, Danny and Dan had returned to Japan and their home town, Elle in tow. To say the town was overjoyed was an understatement, they had shown a festival in honour of Yuurei and the the fact that they would continue to prosper for many generations in the future. Elle had had a blast as she played with the town children and are to her hearts content. She loved the fact that she now had a place to, permanently, call home. That night they slept at the Shiro as the festival continued for three days.
****
Things had settled down, after three weeks, and Danny was only now ready to face the box of their mother remains. It was common for some ghosts to have keepsakes of family members, even the mere kept blood pearls, either to remember or as gifts of protection or  proof of bonds. The thing was, usually, it was one or two pieces. A tooth, lock of hair, blood pearl or fur. Not every usable piece, like the Hunters had kept. Now faced with the box full of fins and scales… They didn’t know what to do. Deciding that they could figure it out later, they started organising them, trying not to think about where they had come from. Ells was taking a nap and Dan had come in at some point to help them. They were thankful for the quiet support.
****
Danny was exhausted. It didn’t happen often anymore, due to the power boost being King of The Infinite Realms gave them, but it had been a long two weeks. There had been an intergalactic war that was getting to close to their planetary orbit and almost everyone had gone to investigate and help, in any way they could, to resolve the problem peacefully. Everything had been going well but one side had decided that they still wanted the other planets resources. The JL were then fully dragged into the war. They were finally able to resolve thing with minimal casualties but it had taken its toll on everyone their.
Dan had stayed back so Earth wasn’t left unprotected while most of the heavy hitters were off planet. He had also kept an eye on Elle. Once Danny had returned home, despite their fatigue and heavy body, they had spent some much needed time with Elle. All three of them had gone to the hot spring and messed around as Danny unwound the tension they had built up over the  weeks they had away.
It had been their first large scale fight, they had been involved with, Dan was usually the one to go on these kind of missions but this one had been in space. In Space! Sure they could go anytime they wanted but they also had a pull at their protection obsession. So two vultures one stone.
It didn’t hurt that their partner for this particular mission was Red Robin. They had gotten to know the other hero on a more personal level, though that is rather subjective, they were friends now. Besides, war didn’t allow for deep discussion, as much as movies portray at least. They mainly worked on information gathering, hacking alien tech and espionage, in some cases, in their quest for information. For the first week at least. The second week was filled with fighting and making sure their teammates did join their domain so soon.
Danny sighed as they slipped further into the hot water. They were so relaxed that they didn’t notice a certain three year old sneak up on them.
“Daddy? When can I get a sybling?” To say Danny nearly drowned would be false but they did sink into the water and flounder around in surprised embarrassment, before coming up and sputtering. Dan was laughing in the background.
“Not unless someone manages to clone me! Again!” They cried out in a rush before mumbling. “Or someone actually agrees to marry me.”
****
Danny collapsed onto their bed at Phantom’s keep. The rush of Ectoplasm would help them get back to normal quicker. They snuggled into their pillow and their thoughts drifted to Elle’s question and immediately blushed when Red Robin crossed their mind. Forcing their mind to be quiet, they slipped into sleep. Their dreams were hazy and fragmented and their consciousness remains out of reach for almost to days. Unaware of their sleepy actions.

Is maternal and child health care important in our society?  Let’s find out ….
There is no greater agony than me bearing an untold story about this community. 3 years down the line, I found myself in desperation of not having accommodation. That was in my first year when I was in the process of registering for OT. I came all the way from Limpopo to KZN. This is the community where I got refuge from. I didn’t know any of Zulu words, and I got lost several times when I was using public transport, believe me, there is a lot of humanity I experienced. I know how it feels like to be a member of Inanda community. Anyways, let talk about maternal and child health.
According to WHO, maternal health refers to the health of women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period.  It’s very important to ensure that they have positive experiences during those stages. Improving the well-being of mothers, infants, and children is an important public health goal in South Africa. Their well-being determines the health of the next generation and can help predict future public health challenges for families, communities, and the health care system.
The most important thing in the maternal health is to prevent maternal death. Most women die due to complications that develop during pregnancy and most of them are preventable. Some complications include   severe bleeding after childbirth, unsafe abortion, or complications from delivery. To avoid death, it’s important to prevent unwanted pregnancies, improve the access to contraception, safe abortion, and post – abortion care.
Within Inanda community, there are many factors that prevent women from seeking care during and after childbirth.  That’s include poverty, not having enough money to pay for transport due to distance to the facilities, lack of information, poor quality services from the local clinics and some cultural beliefs and practices as some women prefer to give birth at home.
The role of occupational therapy in maternal health care within Inanda community can be through creating maternal care support groups for women between antenatal period and the first year after birth. This support groups will focus on empowering women with more knowledge and skills, e.g teaching them about fatigue management, lower back pain and preparing them for a change in the role, facilitating home or workplace adaptations for those who are pregnant. For those who are at postpartum stage, by supporting positive co- occupation between the mother and baby, enabling parents of infants who are premature/sick to support their baby’s self-regulation and development, as well as teaching them about correct positioning of the child.  To those who are first year after birth, therapy can focus on enabling mothers to develop healthy routines for themselves, their baby and family, and promoting mothers’ physical and mental health through a range of individual and group interventions. ( Sally,P., 2019).
Childbirth raises concerns for the mother including loss of control, fear of losing the baby, threat to the mother's health, and threat to the baby’s health (PizurBarkenow & Erickson, 2011).  Most women develop postpartum depression; therefore, therapy can focus on addressing postpartum issues and impact of pregnancy on occupational performance, addressing co-occupations during perinatal care by promoting mother-infant bonding, promoting positive self-efficacy, self-confidence, and self-acceptance, stress/ anxiety management, relaxation techniques and self -care.  I have also been doing health promotion speeches at the clinic about normal developmental stages of the children.
Tumblr media
According to WHO, Child health is a state of physical, mental, intellectual, social and emotional well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Healthy children live in families, environments, and communities that provide them with the opportunity to reach their fullest developmental potential
Childcare is important because it keeps children safe and healthy. In addition, it helps children develop skills they will need for success in school and in their lives outside of school: Social, emotional and communication skills, pre-literacy and basic mathematical skills and concepts , an awareness of their environment and the roles of the people in it.
Within Inanda community, there is one of community crèche that me and other OTs are working in.  We can also focus on providing education about the social emotional, sensory, and cognitive difficulties that interfere with a child’s participation in play to the care providers, improve children engagement in self -care, and social activities; and to help develop emotional supports.
According to John Addington’s emotional journey of creating something great. I have   experienced the first 3 steps. Where I felt like this was going to be my best block ever !! and I was going to have a lot of fun. Currently am in the stage where in am feeling like this is harder than what I thought and there is more work required. I consider myself as someone who is going through shadow of greatness. Yes, it’s emotional. Yes, it’s inevitable. But this isn’t just about things that end up being “great”. In other words, my awareness of the journey ahead doesn’t give me any distinct advantages as I trudge along. I need to continue to walk, one foot in front of the other and make it all count. In the end, even the projects that end up in the trash bin can still provide amazing rewards as long the community benefit from it.

Arthur taking Mera to the Justice League for the first time. Can you imagine how cute? She is a little nervous because those aren't just surface people they are super surface people and his friends too. Arthur trying to explain Clark's planet, Barry' super speed, Victor's technology, but she's heard about the amazons and imediatly bonds with Diana and their fascination about human things. I need Diana and Mera kicking ass together asap
Mera would be slightly nervous to meet the Justice League. She pretends to be confident but these are Arthur’s friends. Friends that took down Steppenwolf, for goodness sake. If anything, she respects them for saving the world. Arthur tells her she doesn’t need to be nervous (I’m NOT nervous! Then stop shaking your leg. I’m NOT shaking my- oh. There you go.) and holds her hand. It helps clear her mind for a bit. They’re meeting most of the JL at the Kent farm in Smallville. A new city and new faces? Her leg begins to shake again.
The JL makes it their mission to make her feel as welcome as possible.
Mera’s first impression of Clark is that he’s sweet. He greets her with a handshake, his other arm around Lois’ waist. He is courteous and welcomes her to his childhood home. She notices he doesn’t go long without seeking out Lois in the crowd. She senses their love - it is almost tangible in the air around them. (Her eyes travel around the room for Arthur to find him doing the same. She smiles at his wink.) She thinks Clark is perhaps a tad bland, but his reputation precedes. He’s a good man with a kind heart and incredibly powerful. She tries to bring up Krypton when their conversation is interrupted by Barry running up to her in the blink of an eye.
He does a little wave in greeting followed by nervous laughter (Hi Barry, I’m Mera. Wait. Wrong again. I have to stop doing that…). Mera’s impression of Barry is he’s erratic with a childlike demeanor. He would shift from one line of thought to another faster than the speed of light. He even left mid-sentence only to return balancing four pizza slices (and a water bottle for her) and devoured them before her eyes, talking non-stop. He also has a tendency to overshare. (So, you live underwater, huh? It must be wild to breathe underwater. You see, I have a fear of drowning and…) Her eyes meet Arthur’s in a silent plea. He saves her from that conversation and leaves her with Diana.
Mera has heard of the Amazonians. How could she not? Ever since she was a child she had heard stories of the war between the Amazonians and the Atlanteans. Mera believes it is ancient history; she holds no ill-will towards the Amazonians. In fact, she has heard of Wonder Woman. You could even call her a fan. Fighting for peace and love? Mera understands that. Diana is graceful and intelligent. Their conversation flows naturally (“Vanilla.” “Really? That’s not too plain?” “It’s the first flavour I ever tried. It reminds me of someone I loved dearly.”). Mera believes they could be close friends. Diana even suggests Mera and Arthur visit her in France. When Arthur comes over to join the conversation, Mera says, “She’s my favourite.” Arthur nods. “She’s everyone’s favourite.” Clark and Lois yell over the cacophony in agreement. Victor simply says, “True.” Barry on the other-hand says, “If anything happened to Diana, I would kill everyone in this room and then myself.” Silence. “What? It’s a Brooklyn 99 reference. Come on! No one? Why do I hang out with you all?” Victor chimes in with, “Because we’re you’re only friends.” “Not true! Iris is my friend!” “‘Friend,’ you mean.” “Stop that!” Diana shakes her head, gives Mera a knowing look, and laughs, “Children. I work with children.”
Mera’s last introduction of the day is to Victor Stone. Arthur had told her what happened to Victor - the accident and how his father saved his life by making him into Cyborg. His appearance startles her at first, but she’s seen people with fish-heads. The novelty quickly wears off. She does like that his armour shines, though. Standing beside her, Arthur claps Victor on the shoulder (MY MAN!). Arthur tells her that Victor has grown since he last saw him - he’s more confident and spirited now. (She can tell Arthur is proud of Victor. It warms her heart to see Arthur so comfortable around so many people. He once told her he doesn’t play well with others. Obviously he underestimated himself.) To her, Victor seems like any young adult - loud and rambunctious. He’s friendly and gracious, always up for a game. (Barry challenged him to some game on his cellular device. Victor won with an emphatic, “BOOYAH!”). She likes him. He’s her second favourite.
Unfortunately, Bruce couldn’t make it, which is totally fine in Arthur and Mera’s book. Arthur told her about the nonsense that happens in Gotham City and she wants nothing to do with it. People dressed as bats and cats? Not to mention a penguin and a clown couple… Ridiculous. Bruce can deal with all that. She has bigger fish to fry. (When they do eventually meet, she remembers Arthur telling her that Bruce’s most dangerous weapon is his brain. It’s a battle of the minds. She is persistent and eventually wins some stupid argument. Bruce is impressed. Arthur barely follows along, not actually caring enough to contribute, but he always roots for Mera. They high-five after every win. Next time, though, she loses. This is how their relationship grows - through lively debates. A tad impersonal, sure, but not one without respect.)
Eventually, she joins the Justice League. Everyone gathers at the round table and Arthur formally asks Mera. She quickly agrees, resulting in resounding applause. (Aren’t I basically already part of the team? I’m your wife; your partner. We’ve been in this together from the start.) Barry blares ’We Are The Champions’ over the stereo. Victor presents her with a shiny JL communicator (he’s had one made since their first meeting - he knew it was just a matter of time). Diana pops the champagne she brought with her from France. (It’s about time another woman joined us. There was way too much testosterone.) Clark brought cookies that Lois made. They’re a tad burnt, but he swears they were made with love. Bruce is quiet but nods with a glimmer of a smile. He admires her tenacity and power. He thinks she’d probably be a better asset than Arthur with that mind of hers. Arthur watches it all with an adoring look of pride (This is gonna be fun). When he can, he kisses her deeply and passionately. They only pull away when the others begin to make obnoxious kissing and retching noises.

Hello Blu!!! Blu, I'd like to ask you, what if exist a flashpoint like in Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox (in your mind/your point of view), for ex: What if Jason had been saved by Bruce, what would have change in this flashpoint paradox? What other things/people would have changed? What do you think of this? Sorry just a random question that came to me ^^ and i'd like to know your opinion! ^^
Hello,
In a flashpoint where Jason lives instead of dying… Alright, well, I’ve thought a lot about this. I even have a story on the parameters of if Jason had lived rather than dying, but that’s a bit closer to the Arkham Knight AU for what happened to Jay.
Anyways, B would save Jason, he wasn’t late, but Jason’s still in critical. I HC that B managed to save Jason but couldn’t save Shelia so that bitch dies in the very explosion she was meant to die in (a moment of silence as we mourn the bitch… okay back to business).
Jason is rushed into a hospital, coma, rehab, years of work to come back; because he’s not magic. Dick is now growing the fuck up and pulling his head out of his ass and trying to be a big brother to Jason as Jason struggles through PT. Alfred forces the family to see a shrink (JL or other), traumas are addressed rather than manifesting unhealthily. Alfred finally just had enough of this shit and said they would see a shrink; all because Jason’s brush with death scared decades off him, and B, and they both see the value now in maybe growing up and addressing the traumas. Also, B doesn’t blame Jay, especially not after he finds out about Sheila.
They address Jason’s trust issues, inferiority feelings, how he felt when they isolated him and were going to take Robin away from him. Dick gets to talk about his needs to grow up, spread his wings, be himself, and address his anger issues and maybe they’ll also talk about his relationship with and his feelings about Jason and how Jason IS NOT his replacement. B never develops his god complex, because God Knows That Man Is Merely A Man! It’s fucking annoying too, B feels that.
I think that Dick and Jay work on becoming brothers through Jay’s PT, movie nights, Titans actually properly meet Jay, books, books, more books, and Jay might even get to go to that school dance he wanted to go to. Even if he’s pushed into the dance in a wheelchair. Dick’s Titans, Garth, Roy, Donna, Lilith, and Wally completely support Jason’s role as Robin now. Yes, Jason still is crushing on Donna, but she’s out of his league and she finds it sweet.
In that time, I think Tim finds the Waynes, and I think Tim and Jay bond; tight and fast, Dick’s actually stepping up to be a big brother. Tim becomes Robin, Jason focuses on PT; resentments about that situation are addressed and Jason doesn’t have that festering wound of being replaced.
Tim is now the baby brother, and Dick and Jay adore him. They like teasing Tim, and drawing Tim out of his shell, maybe even doing normal brother shit, like beating up Tim’s bullies, rough housing with him, and even possibly formally telling Jack Drake to fuck off, Tim’s their baby brother. I think with that in mind, B legally goes about adopting Tim, and Tim is shocked at this news. They have a huge family dinner to make the announcement, and Tim cries like a baby in joy (No one will ever say anything about that, because Tim’s family).
Stephanie comes barrelling into the family (Jay’s starting to go back into the field; possibly under a different name, Red Bird, or Bluejay or something). Dick and Jason torture Tim about his crush on Stephanie, and they adore Stephanie. B tolerates her still, and maybe tries hard. Stephanie never becomes Robin, staying Spoiler, and she practically lives at the mansion. She trains with the boys, plays with them, and is never adopted because of Tim’s feelings for her, also B might like her but she’s so not his kid. Babs takes a real liking to Stephanie, and takes Steph under her wing, even presenting Batgirl to Stephanie when she’s older.
Yes, we still find Cass, or better Cass finds them, and she’s adopted by them. Babs is still Oracle. The Batfamily; whilst dysfunctional in different ways, is functioning, and they are recovering. B adores her; obviously and she’s his favorite child; the boys all know this and they adore her. The boys are also painfully aware that Cass can do no wrong in B’s eyes, and could probably get away with murder, they can never get away with anything.
Jason never clashes with Joker; and Joker is a quadriplegic, blind and mute after B is done with him. [I Know There are ways to incapacitate Joker without killing the fucker, so B can stay on his ‘No Kill’ rule and Joker is fucking gone from the depths of nightmares and on a painful trip to Hell]. Joker dwindles into nothing more than a nightmarish memory on Gotham’s psyche.
Jay and Roy become BFFs during his PT and Roy’s recovery, and get into a shit ton of antics still. Jason never makes that first kill, but is still reckless, he even acquires the All-Blades; though no one knows how he accomplished that. Alfred is the one who teaches Jay to shoot, it’s a coping mechanism to make Jay feel some form of control and safety. No, he does not use guns on his patrols, opting to stick to B’s methods and the swords.
Jason becomes a Titan, on a team with Raven, Eddie Bloomberg, Conner Hawk, Kyle Rayner and Koriand’r on his team. Jason torments Dick about this when Kori crashes here and Dick’s tripping over his tongue and feet around her. Tim just finds it hilarious too.
Dick and Babs never work out, but they stay friends, and Dick eventually marries Kori. Babs and Kori are great friends, and have a girls weekend once a month (Babs is Mar’i and Jake’s aunt, Raven’s still their godmother and Wally their godfather).
B and Talia never get back together, instead their fall out is of epic proportions when B finds out about Damian. The Bats take Dami in without questions.
Damian still clashes violently with Tim, Jason beats Damian up though and Dick comforts Damian. Damian still bonds closest to Dick, while Tim and Jay both leave the demon spawn to Dick. Tim will never admit this but he totally slept in Jason’s room for the first year after Damian moved in; after that first night and he was violently woken up by Damian’s attempt to murder him. Jason is Tim’s favorite brother at that point.
They adopt Duke a year after Damian, Dick and Jason actually insist on this; with Cass’ help, and Duke is dragged into the lunacy of the Bats.
Cass and Stephanie are BFFs, and they work closely with Oracle, they are Orphan and Batgirl, and together all of Gotham’s criminals fear purple glitter bombs, and ass-kickings. The girls are the ones who stumble over Harper Row and her brother, Cullen, and they quickly accumulate Harper and Cullen into their little group. B has no idea what to think about this, but everyone knows he’ll never say no to Cass.
Tim becomes a Titan, on a team with Kon, Bart, Cassandra Sandsmark, Zachary Zatara, Tanya Spears.
Kate joins their ranks, but is not permitted her firearms, in fact, she is the biggest clashing force in the Bats with B. But B, and the family are firm on their No Killing policy and their No Fire Arms. In fact, this is almost a fall out for Kate and B until the Bats have to save Kate, and they kind of make it clear that if she’s in she’s all in exactly how they want. If not, she’s no Bat.
Luke joins into the Bats too, though that’s completely accidental as he’s only interested in saving his father at the time. But he kind of falls hard for Babs, and sticks around. He’s also the buffer for Tim when it comes to keeping his secret as Red Robin from Tammy, though Luke vastly disapproves of tihs. But neither of them want Tammy in the Batfamily world; it’s dangerous. Luke and Tim also save Tammy from Bane’s venom, with the aid of Stephanie when that rolls around.
B marries Cat. No heartache or heart break there, they are married, almost a year after what happened to Jason because they realize: Life Is Too Fucking Short.
Jason gets into Princeton, he’s always at the top of his class and involved with athletics and vigilant life. He’s not a lady’s man like Dick was before Kori, but he’s good with the ladies, and has a lot of girls who are his friends. He’s not Mr. Popular but the world has finally stopped comparing him to Dick. Jason’s time in Princeton is huge! The family is extremely proud of Jay and they are vocal in their pride, even being the dorky family cheering at his graduation. Jason did punch Dick for that, and caught Tim in a headlock as Stephanie glitter bombed them both for having a banner there. Cass has the photographic evidence of this. Damian just clicked his tongue in disapproval before Dick glitter  bombed him too. Duke was Cass’s perch for the glitter bombing so, he was safe from all glitter bombs. Over all though, it’s good times.
Jason later goes to Harvard to study medicine, which he’s really excelling at. He wants to be an ER doc, to help people shortly after their trauma, knowing the importance of quick actions after extensive damage.
Tim and Tammy get engaged. Tammy is furious when she finds out she engaged a Bat, but she’s mostly upset he didn’t trust her enough to say something.
Cass does become a ballerina, and still takes acting classes from Clayface.
Babs and Luke eloped; a weekend in Atlantic City neither of them really remember.
Tim and Tammy break up though when Tim moves to San Francisco to be with the Titans more.
Duke goes to Princeton after Jay, and meets Claire, they start dating.
Damian becomes a Titan, he’s on a team with Kaldur’ahm, Garfield, Wallace West, Jon Kent (for whom he is falling for almost painfully), Djinn and Emiko Queen.
Helena was born at some point, she’s adored and the center of the family’s eyes, even Damian fell for her. He’s also a sucker for Mar’i and Jake (though he’d soon eat glass than say that).
Jason finds Terry and Matt, by accident after they lost their parents in a wreck and were at the hospital Jay. The DNA testing showed Terry and Matt were B’s kids, so he kind of brings them home. B goes off on Waller for this violation, and the using of his DNA to create the boys.
Babs and Luke adopt Carrie Kelley and Nell Little, bringing them into the Bats when they can’t keep Carrie out of it.
Life continues on though, and they keep going. They are a family. They aren’t perfect, the Bats are far from perfect, they still have epic blow outs, and fights, also huge feuds but they are a family. They banned together after Jay’s near brush with death and didn’t travel down that morbid rabbit hole of self destruction and god complexes of inadequacy.

Meditation: What is the greatest act of love which one can give for the sake of another? Jesus defines friendship - the mutual bond of trust and affection which people choose to have for one another - as the willingness to give totally of oneself - even to the point of laying down one's life for a friend. How is such love possible or even desirable? God made us in love for love. That is our reason for being, our purpose for living, and our goal in dying.
God is the source and origin of love - divine and human
Scripture tells us that God is love (1 John 4:8) - and everything he does flows from his immense love for us. He loved us so much - far beyond what we could ever expect or deserve - that he was willing to pay any price to redeem us from our slavery to sin and death. That is why the Father sent us his beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave up his life as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. In this great exchange - the Father giving up his Son to death on the cross in order to give us abundant everlasting life and adopt us as his beloved sons and daughters in Christ (Romans 8:14-17).
God's love has been poured into our hearts
It is for this reason that we can take hold of a hope that does not fade and a joy that does not diminish because God has poured his love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us (Romans 5:5). God's love is not limited or subject to changing circumstances. It is an enduring love that has power to change and transform us to be like him - merciful, gracious, kind, forgiving, and steadfast in showing love not only for our friends, but for our enemies as well. God's love is boundless because he is the source of abundant life, perfect peace, and immeasurable joy for all who open their hearts to him. That is why Jesus came to give us abundant life through the gift and working of the Holy Spirit.
A new way of loving and serving one another
Jesus gave his disciples a new commandment - a new way of loving and serving one another. Jesus' love was wholly directed toward the good of others. He love them for their sake and for their welfare. That is why he willingly laid down his own life for us to free us from sin, death, fear, and everything that could separate us from the love of God. Our love for God and our willingness to lay down our life for others is a response to the exceeding love God has given us in Christ. Paul the Apostle states,
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?... For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:35,38-39).
Friendship with God
Jesus calls his disciples his friends. Jesus not only showed his disciples that he personally cared for them and sought their welfare. He personally enjoyed their company and wanted to be with them. He ate with them, shared everything he had with them - even his inmost heart and thoughts. And he spent himself doing good for them. To know Jesus personally is to know God and the love and friendship he offers to each one of us.
One of the special marks of favor shown in the Scriptures is to be called the friend of God. Abraham is called the friend of God (Isaiah 41:8, James 2:23). God spoke with Moses as a man speaks with his friend (Exodus 33:11). Jesus, the Lord and Master, calls the disciples his friends rather than his servants.
What does it mean to be a friend of God? Friendship with God certainly entails a loving relationship which goes beyond mere duty and obedience. Jesus' discourse on friendship and brotherly love echoes the words of Proverbs: A friend loves at all times; and a brother is born for adversity (Proverbs 17:17). The distinctive feature of Jesus' relationship with his disciples was his personal love for them. He loved his own to the end (John 13:1). His love was unconditional and wholly directed to the good of others. His love was also sacrificial. He gave the best he had and all that he had. He gave his very life for those he loved in order to secure for them everlasting life with the Father.
Love to the death
The Lord Jesus gives his followers a new commandment - a new way of love that goes beyond giving only what is required or what we think others might deserve. What is the essence of Jesus' new commandment of love? It is a love to the death - a purifying love that overcomes selfishness, fear, and pride. It is a total giving of oneself for the sake of others - a selfless and self-giving love that is oriented towards putting the welfare of others ahead of myself.
Jesus says that there is no greater proof in love than the sacrifice of one's life for the sake of another. Jesus proved his love by giving his life for us on the cross of Calvary. Through the shedding of his blood for our sake, our sins are not only washed clean, but new life is poured out for us through the gift of the Holy Spirit. We prove our love for God and for one another when we embrace the way of the cross. What is the cross in my life? When my will crosses with God's will, then God's will must be done. Do you know the peace and joy of a life fully surrendered to God and consumed with his love?
The Lord Jesus tells us that he is our friend and he loves us whole-heartedly and unconditionally. He wants us to love one another just as he loves us, whole-heartedly and without reserve. His love fills our hearts and transforms our minds and frees us to give ourselves in loving service to others. If we open our hearts to his love and obey his command to love our neighbor, then we will bear much fruit in our lives, fruit that will last for eternity. Do you wish to be fruitful and to abound in the love of God?
"Teach us, good Lord, to serve you as you deserve, to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labor and not to ask for any reward, save that of knowing that we do your will; through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Prayer of Ignatius Loyola) "

THE SPIRIT IS A MOVIN’ (ON)
“The circumcised believers who had accompanied Peter were surprised that the gift of the Holy Spirit should have been poured out on the Gentiles also, whom they could hear speaking in tongues and glorifying God.” —Acts 10:45-46
We are two weeks away from Pentecost, a world-changing, life-changing outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God wants to pour out His Spirit on “all flesh” (see Jl 3:1), including on those like Cornelius who have never had the opportunity to hear the Gospel. If we refuse to receive the Holy Spirit in our churches, Jesus will still pour out the Spirit on the streets, in the ghettos, and in the jungles.
If the USA won’t open up to the Spirit, maybe China will. If the priests and ministers stifle the Spirit, Jesus will pour out the Spirit on transformed prostitutes and recovering alcoholics. We can get in on the worldwide movement of the Holy Spirit, or we can let life in the Spirit pass us by.
Let’s open up and receive the Holy Spirit now. “Now is the acceptable time! Now is the day of salvation!” (2 Cor 6:2) “Come, Holy Ghost, Creator blest, and in our hearts take up Thy rest.”
Prayer:  Lord, may the Holy Spirit descend upon all who listen to this message (Acts 10:44).
Promise:  “Love, then, consists in this: not that we have loved God but that He has loved us and has sent His Son as an Offering for our sins.” —1 Jn 4:10
Praise:  “Tell me, if Christ is preached as raised from the dead, how is it that some of you say there is no resurrection of the dead?” (1 Cor 15:12) Lord Jesus, I trust in You.

The Brave & The Polygraphed
Timeline: Post-Justice League Pairing: Bruce X Diana Word Count: 4,093 words
NOTE: This story is a sequel to The Calm Between The Storms, in case you’d like to know more about my post-JL line of thought. Enjoy!
“Thank you again, Victor.” Said a breathless Diana as she maneuvered three more boxes labeled ‘Shoes’ into her apartment’s living room. She noticed her fellow Leaguer’s eyebrow arch from beneath his grey tracksuit’s hood, clearly in disbelief at the assortment of her belongings. But like the respectable young gentleman he was, Victor quickly glanced back at the digitally projected map in front of him instead of uttering a word of his opinion.
“The plane will be on the roof in less than two,” he informed her with a professional clip to his tone. Then, he loosened his shoulders with a robotic shuffling and reiterated to her once again. “And it’s no problem. Gives me a chance to see the lights of Paris.”
“If I had known you wanted to see the city, I wouldn’t have planned to move so late at night—“
The man branded as the Cyborg showed little to no emotion on his face when he explained, “If you had called during the day, I wouldn’t have been able to come at all.”
Diana did not want to accept the defeatist attitude her team mate was clearly harbouring. It had been only a few weeks since they had met face to face and challenged the self-proclaimed End of Worlds together, so it would be unrealistic to expect a complete change in Victor’s stance on reintegrating with the public in such a short span of time. Still, her tender admiration for the young man motivated her to provide him with yet another sage piece of advice. “They can’t decide whether or not they accept you if you don’t give them the chance to see you.”
A hollow chuckle escaped Victor, but it seemed to come from deep within the human remains of his chest. “I know, but I think I’ll start in a place that I’m more familiar with, like...somewhere close to home, where I can communicate with people in English if things don’t work out.”
“Fair enough.” Diana agreed, accepting the possibility he had promised her. Her faith in his words was strong, as was the motion with which the Amazon tossed on her red leather jacket and prepared to move her belongings up to the roof.
Victor’s heavy footsteps stomped towards her. “Besides, if I want a first person point of view of any place, I just need to take a look inside here.” A metallic finger tapped his temple, obviously referring to the computer-like interface that existed within him, tethering him to the entire world through digital means.
“That may be true,” hummed the immortal goddess while looking around her Parisian home one last time. Perhaps it was her nostalgia for a place she had yet to leave that made her sentiments so blunt. “But nothing compares to experiencing something yourself. Trust me.”
“Technically, vlogs and Snapchat videos give me that perspective... Um, Snapchat is this app where you can record 10 second videos and send them to your friends—“
“I know what Snapchat is!” Feigning indignation, Diana defended herself from Victor’s perception that she was not at all technically savvy.
Immediately, Cyborg held up his hands in defence. Though he appeared as if he was fearful of her reaction, a hint of amusement snuck in between his words, “All right, all right. I just wasn’t sure. I can’t even imagine what you’d send as a snap. ‘It’s fun being everyone’s Woman Crush Wednesday’ with the heart crown filter on?”
It almost pained Diana that she didn’t understand what this ‘Woman Crush Wednesday’ was, and why women could only be admired in the middle of the week; the pursing of her lips coupled with the following silence revealed the truth to him rather plainly. Perhaps she wasn’t as invested in the modern world as she had thought.
Thankfully, a set of three beeps and the flashing of the blue sensor in the middle of Cyborg’s forehead changed the subject for them rather seamlessly. Taking it upon himself to start the process, Victor reached for a stack of boxes - the ones labeled ‘Books’ instead of her tower of ‘Shoes’. “It’s getting ready to land. We better get a move on.”
Diana nodded while smirking ever so slightly as they graciously carried on with her move. Picking up four boxes of her own, she led the two of them to her soon-to-be- ex-front door. As she twisted the handle, she suddenly thought to ask, “Is anyone on board?”
“No, Alfred put in the coordinates from the cave,” a simple answer to a simple question, until Victor felt the urge to tack on a query of his own. “I guess Bruce is too busy playing CEO to fly over this time.”
Diana did her best not to laugh at the absent Batman’s expense. After all, it was his plane that was acting as her moving van from Paris to Washington. “It’s only...six o’clock in the evening for him, isn’t it? If he’s not in some meeting or secretly hunting a criminal while at work, he’s most likely overseeing the construction of our headquarters.”
“Hm,” came the auto-tuned murmur from Cyborg. Indifferent to the explanation, the neutral sound he made didn’t feel like much of a finishing note to the conversation. His thudding feet only helped to pronounce each passing second during their trek down the hall and into the building’s stairwell.
Diana, focusing on her steps while climbing the two staircases, found her curiosity getting the better of her. While her boots - the only pair that hadn’t been packed away - clicked upon the steps, she dared to inquiry, “What? What was the noise for?”
“What? I just—“
“Find it hard to believe that one person can do so many things at the same time? I told him to let me help manage the construction, but he refused me when I refused to tell him my new address.”
“You did?”
“Yes, but only because I know he’ll amuse himself trying to figure it out.” Diana explained at the perfect moment, as she opened the rooftop door to reveal their awaiting plane. The riled wind whipped around them as they made their way to the bay’s open gate, the lights inside the aircraft nearly blinding them. “Alfred would never betray my trust and tell him, I know.”
That earned her a hardy chuckle from Victor, who had placed his boxes down in the space vacated by the BatMobile before patting his torso. “That might give Bruce even more trust issues than he already has.”
Now, it was Diana’s turn to laugh aloud, her voice challenging the roaring engine of the parked Batplane. Her willpower to defend Bruce’s honour was fading ever so slowly, the longer she spoke with Victor; somehow, bonding with Cyborg seemed almost too easy when it was at the expense of the reigning Master Wayne.
“No,” Diana promised despite having no proof that she was correct. “It’s merely an entertaining puzzle for him, something to ponder that doesn’t end with any kind of catastrophic destruction.”
Victor immediately chimed in, “It’s his own version of a crossword puzzle.”
Diana’s brightened when he offered his description. “Exactly!” She praised him by way of her enthusiastic agreement.
Nevertheless, it seemed no explanation would curb his disappointment that there wasn’t a cowl-wearing man helping them to carry her television on board. “I don’t know, maybe it’s because I still find it surreal that Batman is someone I can contact now – he’s more than just some vigilante horror story.” The perplexed, one-eyed stare Victor showed he did not steal away her smile, but his words certainly did.
She chose to lead him off of the plane and across the roof before she asked, “Is he really so hated, in his own city? Given the way Bruce acts, I imagined that he was highly revered by the people of Gotham.”
“Depends who you ask.” Was Victor’s casual answer, going so far as to shrug at her assumption.
“Did the people you knew think of him like that?”
Victor’s lips pressed together to demonstrate to her that he felt as if he could not give her a simple answer. When they reached the rooftop’s door, he walked through it while meeting her gaze. “I honestly believed he was nothing more than some guy with too much time on his hands, who was so full of himself, that he actually thought he could take on the never-ending reign of madmen in Gotham all on his own.”
‘That wasn’t entirely an incorrect belief,’ Diana thought to herself automatically.
“So you expect the world of him, then,” feeling empathetic towards the man inside the bat costume, Wonder Woman summarized the story told to her rather eloquently, “He’s like a god among men to you now, able to appear at any location in the blink of an eye or a swipe of a credit card.”
“Hey, now, I know he’s human. And for a guy with no powers, he sure acts like he’s got them all. That much of the stories are true.”
That they could agree on. Even if, at times, it felt to her as though his goals steered him off course, the impressive work ethic that Bruce possessed managed to motivate him despite the madness he supposedly faced daily. There was so much willpower inside of him that it was amazing, if she allowed herself to think on it long enough. Godlike, if she were honest.
Though she could compare him to the likes of Prometheus, if she thought long about that as well, which was the most apt reference she could make of Bruce in relation to the heroes she once knew.
Recognizing Victor’s perspective to a certain degree, Diana teasingly apologized, “Then I am sorry he disappointed you tonight.”
They had made it into her apartment again while mauling over the words to describe Bruce Wayne. There were still many boxes to take upstairs, meaning there would be ample time to discuss many other topics to make their night go by faster.
Victor did not share her vision, it appeared, for when she chose to scoop up a trunk full of her coats, he half-heartedly revealed, “I just thought you’d be – if he can come visit you here to bring you some note all the way from Gotham, he could come do some heavy lifting.”
Her joints twitched for a moment as she paused during the heavy lifting she had been doing when he made such a curious remark. “What note?”
With her entire collection of dishes resting in his arms, Victor appeared much more relaxed than he ought to be. “He flew here once to give you a note in some briefcase, didn’t he?” For someone who previously stated something as fact, his question felt most definitely belated.
There was a preference to keep such details private, as Diana could easily assume what it was Cyborg was referring to. How he could have learned about the delivery that Wayne Enterprises made to her was beyond her. His assumption that they had dropped off a note was odd, but it most likely meant that he knew nothing of her photograph. She had trusted that Bruce had kept his retrieval of it a secret, and yet—
“Someone from his company once delivered something to me, yes. But it wasn’t Bruce himself.”
“That’s not what I heard.” Victor muttered under his breath rather cheekily, a character trait she had yet to see from him until that very moment. It impressed her to know he could be so silly, while simultaneously irking her to think that he knew something about that important delivery she did not.
If Cyborg was subtly implying that Bruce had come to Paris with the photograph, could he be lying? Would he?
Given his capabilities to interact and bypass the security of even the BatCave’s computer, it was possible that he found some information about that mission Bruce had given himself, to locate the picture and return it to her. But that would imply that Bruce Wayne, CEO hopped on a personal plane and flew across the Atlantic Ocean so that he could hand over something that had been stolen from her, and chose to unceremoniously allow an employee to do it instead?
It did nothing to dissuade her from believing the story to be true when she imagined that Victor’s newfound interest in her interactions with the troublesome Master Wayne reminded her of a certain butler.
The Lasso of Hestia could give her the answers she sought, should she feel the need to learn the truth directly. However, she never intended to use any of her godly gifts on her fellow Justice League members, her friends.
No, there was a simpler and much more entertaining method of learning the truth.
Diana would simply have to contain herself until she reached America in order to make use of it.
Or rather, she merely had to wait until they landed in Washington and walked out onto the tarmac, as it was none other than Bruce Wayne waiting there to greet them. Hands in the pockets of his coat, hair tossed around by the wind that was stirred up by his plane, an absolutely childish smirk forcing the corners of his mouth to give away his silly sense of pride, he was the epitome of a man who felt as if he had won some game. It was decided by Diana in that moment to consider him as one of the ‘children’ she had agreed to work with, given either his spitefulness or his egoism had brought him to greet her as she exited the Batplane.
“Did you have a nice flight?” Asked the billionaire as he strode towards them.
Victor, having once labeled him as an ‘asshole’ before, was unafraid to question his intention. Planted firmly at the top of the bay door, he shouted out, “It was nice to sit for four hours after all the packing and moving we did.”
Diana had carried herself down the ramp and over to Bruce as he acknowledged Cyborg’s ability to less the flight time of his planes. “I’ll have to build a plane one of these days that can keep up with you on a constant basis.” “And a computer system, too.” It was obvious to her that Victor was giving Bruce a hard time for his surprise arrival in the most convenient city of their trip…
She couldn’t find it in her heart to stop him from doing so, regardless.
Crossing her arms over her chest, Diana spoke in order to put an end to their meager squabbling. “How did you find us?”
“It’s my plane, Diana.” Bruce’s haze hovered on his aircraft for a moment too long before he finally looked at her. Face to face, her eyes noticed that there was indeed a barricade behind his stare and it revealed to her that it wasn’t as confident as he appeared mere moments ago. It did indeed give her an edge of her own as she prepared to have him reveal a few too many truths to her.
“Yes, but Alfred was in charge of making sure you minded your own business, for once.”
“Don’t worry, your friend didn’t betray your trust.” He guaranteed by not just what he said, but by the crankiness in the tone of voice he used to tell her.
It took all she had not to show him what that smirk he had worn looked like on her own eager lips. “I guess I should have known that the World’s Greatest Detective would have found out where were.”
“I think if I can locate a bunch of Metahumans who are trying to stay off the grid, I can—”
“Don’t let him fool you, Diana – he has an override on the security of the Batplane and found out where we were headed.” Came an incredibly helpful voice from inside the plane, strained on certain words as he began to bring her belongings onto the tarmac.
Bruce inhaled deeply with evident frustration; with his reactions so unhinged, Diana realized that Victor’s blunt nature could act as its own truth-obtaining force, one that worked much faster than her considerate one. It impressed her and comforted her greatly to know he was on her side in this endeavour.
After a glare that Batman reserved for his most irritating foes was shot Cyborg’s way, Bruce said through gritted teeth, “Thank you, Victor. Why don’t you put those in my car?”
So focused Diana had been on seeing Bruce that she hadn’t taken much note of the vehicle he had been standing in front of: a dazzling Mercedes-Benz SUV.
The thought struck her as soon as she saw it – Bruce owned the luxury version of what looked like the car for a mother of five.
That made sense to her, if she was being honest with herself.
Still, despite his preparedness, Diana straightened and spoke firm yet indirectly, “A plane, a car – you are providing us with so much considering we did not ask for all of this.”
As she spoke, her brown eyes were fixated on the sneaky return of that devious grin of his. It grew larger than it had looked before, which only unnerved her. He even allowed a slight pause to pass between them before trying to sound generous in order to mask how coy he actually felt. “I flew you here, Diana – it’s no trouble for me to drop you off. Besides, 2890 West 20th Street isn’t too far from here.”
There it was. The reason he had been smiling like a fool the moment he saw them. The World’s Greatest Detective had uncovered her address and had completely ruined her request of setting boundaries. Even if she had anticipated him attempting to unearth her information before she had the chance to tell him herself, she never expected him to appear before her, acting as if he should be congratulated and awarded a prize.
Not one for modern cursing, she could suddenly empathize with Victor’s usage of signature insult rather easily.
“You’re right,” Diana admitted as she tried to appear unaffected by him. That did not mean she planned to inflate his arrogance any more than it already had been. Quick on her feet – the wisdom of Athena bestowing upon her a great deal of wit – she pounced on the conversation and steered it to where she wanted it to go. “You know better than anyone that I like to live close to airports, for convenience sake.”
The stutter in his shifting expressions renewed Diana’s spirit as she challenged Bruce Wayne. His blinking was excessive before he cleared his throat. “And how would I know that?”
Ready to parry him, Diana proceeded, “Well, I assume that the briefcase you delivered to me at my work wasn’t where you originally wanted to give it to me, was it? It would have been much easier for Bruce Wayne to visit me at my home, but perhaps too chaotic for the press if he suddenly arrived at the Louvre. Right?” With a faux look of curiosity and a tilt of her head, it was all she could do to keep her mouth in a straight line.
A befuddled Bruce had barely opened his mouth when Cyborg’s booming laughter caught both of their attention. It felt very much like she had teamed up with Victor in order to take down the Batman in a verbal sparring match, and their combined efforts had won them the round. The way those trimmed brows sank into the bridge of his nose were the greatest indicator of how sour his mood had become. It was almost fascinating to the goddess as she witness the spectrum of human emotion rush across his chiseled face.
In contrast to his abrupt changes in mood, the hand he raised to rest on the back of Diana’s arm was rather gentle. “Can we talk somewhere else?” Was the odd request that Bruce made, all while still focused on the Batplane behind her.
“Why?” Diana inquired.
“Because I’d prefer to be out of earshot.” Bruce justified his request while rudely glaring at the very person he was trying to escape.
It was easy to abide by his requests when he was so clearly put out by Victor’s protective nature over her. She offered her ally a courteous smile as she was led away by her elbow. The grasp he had on her physically was not at all necessary, but her trust for Bruce – though still unstable in certain regards – could tolerate his gestures now. There was a gentler intention than when they first met, after all.
It inspired her to begin their hushed conversation softer than she intended. “Bruce.” His name was a single-syllabled admonishment.
“Is that what he told you?” Accused one of the team leaders of his fellow team mates.
Diana wondered if she had the patience to remain coy after hearing a remark like that. “It’s what he gathered, I suppose. If he could find me in your secret cave, I am inclined to believe him.”
Bruce’s face somehow hardened more so than before. He said nothing, choosing to stand there like one of the many gargoyles that decorated the landmarks of Gotham City: hunched shoulders that supported a face crinkled face of great displeasure.
No matter his reaction, though, it only confirmed to her that what she had been told was the truth.
Bravely, Diana stepped toward the disgruntled Bruce, arms crossed so as to create some distance between them, if only in her body language. “If you stayed away out of respect to me—”
There, suddenly, a flicker of grateful understanding peeked out from behind his deep brown eyes.
“—I appreciate the gesture.”
“It was the least I could do,” Bruce clarified. His voice was a tad hoarse, most likely due to the lack of cross words he had fired at her for the past few moments. He shrugged off his whispered words rather boyishly. “After dragging you out of hiding like that, having you fight Doomsday with us, I had to do find it for you.”
“I was actually on a plane” – she felt the need to inform him of the similarities – “ready to leave America, when I saw that creature fighting you on the news.”
“So…after meeting me—”
“Yes.”
“—you tried to fly right back to France.”
“Exactly.”
“Hm.” Was the dumbfounded noise Bruce made in order to remain a part of their conversation. This time, the lines that typically appeared on his face when he felt uneasy did not show themselves; only his brows furrowed over his expectant eyes, wondering if she was going to inform him whether or not her opinion of him had at all been rectified since.
It was then Diana decided to exact her revenge upon the noisy but timid Batman. “But since you have a habit of flying out to meet me, why don’t we let Victor head home after a long day of helping me pack, and you can help me put all of these boxes into my apartment, at 2890 West 20th Street?”
“Oh, don’t worry about me,” Victor’s voice reached the two founding members rather easily through each of their cellphones, startling them both. “I’d be entertained if I came along, I know that.”
“I think we can manage.” Warned Bruce, already stomping his way back over to the plane.
Diana watched his back as he marched and placed a gentle fists to her lips, trying not to snicker. She could not truly tell if it was his anger towards the equally nosey Cyborg or his own male pride that made him agree so swiftly to her request, but it was amusing nonetheless to see Bruce play the role of a friend as a punishment for being his regular, obsessive self.
Seeing him interact with people whom he did not yet know was quite the sight. Both her and Bruce had a great deal in common when it came to their ability to relate to others while trying to maintain boundaries of their own, but the time had finally come where they needed to learn how to open up their worlds again after quite a long while. In a way, he was the ideal partner to go on such a hero’s journey with.
Now, it was time to see if he was the right person to help her move onward and upward, into the penthouse of her new building.
((I have been working on this little by little for daaays now! I kept getting stuck in certain places, but I decided that I could write something romcom-y for the two of them in Diana’s place later on if I felt inclined to do so~ I ADORED Victor in the movie, and it made total sense that Diana was the one who went to fetch him because both of their stories pertain to their hearts. I wanted to also show him in more of a relaxed state, and see the man beneath the hero you know? Anyway, I hope you enjoyed! ~Maiden))

Justice League Review
I have a lot to say about that movie. And I haven’t done a long review on a movie in a long time. So I guess it means something that I want to do that for Justice League?
but first: come on rottentomatoes it deserved more than 40%
Many compared it to Age of Ultron, while that comparison is interesting, I feel like when Age of Ultron is good it is better than JL but when it is bad, it is way worse than JL, while Justice League is a pretty innoffensive movie. There’s no canon destruction here compared to BvS or AoU.
“A fun but unimpactful movie”. I think this describes it well. I liked most of it and I would go see it again.
Now for the details (and spoilers) under the cut
And my inevitable comparison of what people said and what I saw:
General
People said that the movie was jumping a lot from scene to scene, I saw that but it didn’t bug me. It wasn’t as jarring to me as it felt to many other people. I also didn’t see that “change in tone”, the movie felt pretty constant in tones to me. I also like the more “light hearted” feel of the movie, there’s not that many jokes in it (but I guess compared to BvS it’s a big difference) and most of them work well. Some things were cheesy and over-the-top, some things were “bad” but in a good way. I think it’s Andre from Black Nerd Comedy who said that it felt like a live-action cartoon of Justice League, and I could see that. It really had that feel, which is hard to describe, but it was a positive thing.
Also I’m rarely one to complain about CGI, but maaaan some CGI in this was reaaaally showing. The worst part for me was when Steppenwolf fought the amazones, and at some point when Arthur Cury was jumping in the water it seemed like he was in front of a green screen? I have no idea why, it’s just a guy in the water, why do you need a green screen for that?
Many people liked the battle between the amazones and Steppenwolf but I didn’t really like it. My favorite was the one in the tunnels, mostly because there was a lot of character interaction and some form of character development. And it’s true that the “boss battle” at the end was done in like 10 minutes.
The movie does feel like there’s no high stake here, who cares about steppenwolf? Even if they say it’s a big threat you’re like wtv. But that didn’t bother me much.
People said there was a lot of plot holes, well they were not big enough to bother me. People said that it was rushed, yeah I can get that, especially with the backstories of the new characters, but it could have been way worse. The movie was mostly straightforward and easy to follow. I had no problems understanding what was going on even if I never saw BvS or Suicide Squad (But I did watch a lot of reviews and analysis of those movies, and I know the big lines of the DC comics lore)
The characters:
I liked Batman, I quite like Ben Affleck’s take, especially the lighter version seen here in Justice League. I feel it’s more like the comics than the other ones. And I liked that they made him do some martial art fighting, I feel like we don’t see that enough in the Batman movies. He’s supposed to be so good at it they should show it more. But then his costume is so bulky, it does very much look like some of the comics stories. He says a few funny lines in the movie, I wouldn’t say they’re “jokes” but at least he’s not GrumpyMcGrumpalot Batman in this.
I liked that Alfred had stuff to do in the movie, even if it was more just practical than emotional. He kind of reminded me of JARVIS.
It was also kind of funny that Batman tried to delegate to everyone else the task of talking to the other three ‘recruits’ (Wonder Woman and Alfred “I thought you were supposed to talk to him.”)
Wonder Woman is difficult to pinpoint in this movie. She seems more or less the same as in her solo movie. I saw an excerpt of a review on tumblr that said “oh Joss Whedon made wonder woman a nagging wife trope again!”. For one, who said it was Joss Whedon who wrote those scenes and not Snyder? When I was watching the movie I thought “where is she supposed to be the nagging wife exactly?” I never got the sense that she was that at all. It’s not because she disagreed with Bruce that one time that she’s automatically a “nagging wife”. Women can disagree with men you know? And Batman never seemed annoyed by her, and he apologized later, and the other ones were all on Wonder Woman’s side... so really I have no idea where she got that idea...it’s reaaaly stretching it.  I saw that scene where they disagreed more like a “Tony and Steve” kind of moment, and it was way less tense in JL than Avengers. I saw Batman and Wonder Woman as the coleaders of the team, or at least trying to be. Also if you want to talk sexist tropes, instead of the nagging wife, I felt like the nurturing mother was more present to me. I don’t know if it’s good or bad but she seemed to be the one who cared about everybody and believed in them and was sweet to them.
But there are some things that bugged me. Like the fact that they kept mentionning Steve Trevor. Like I GET IT, SHE LOVED HIM. But like it’s been 100 YEARS AND SHE’S STILL NOT OVER IT? Steve wasn’t over Peggy because he got FROZEN IN TIME so to him it’s been a fraction of a second later, but Diana had to live in “Man’s world” for a hundred years now. I know they wanted to link it to the Wonder Woman movie but it felt so forced and I didn’t get any emotion from it. It is a way for them to explain why she didn’t do anything for a hundred years. When Batman said “why aren’t you a beacon of hope like Superman if you’ve been here longer” me: ‘hum I don’t know, the patriarchy? The fact that the producers decided she wasn’t?” I though that the idea that Diana had lost hope and abandonned men had been retconned with Wonder Woman.  They went back to retcon the retcon from what I’m understanding? Ugh I hated this.
The choices of aestetic
First, the ass shots thing people complained about. It’s not there all that much. I think it’s there once when she’s in normal clothes and maybe two times in her Wonder Woman costume? That’s not what bothered me the most. What bothered me the most was how often she had very big cleavage shirts, even when she was only going to talk to Victor, why did she need a shirt like that? Also “sexy women in movies must wear heels” it’s funny because the first time she came to see Batman she had those big heels, and then the next scene where they walked in a park or something she had black running shoes? So she decided to change shoes in between?
The Amazones
So the “bikini armor” of the Amazones’ past that did the rounds on tumblr didn’t bother me that much. During the flashback you barely see that they have leather bikinis, and some don’t. What bothered me though is during the present day some of the amazones had metal crop tops and all their stomach were showing. Did we have that in the Wonder Woman movie? I’m pretty sure we didn’t.
Her relationship with Bruce
I liked it, except for the moments where he kept mentionning Steve Trevor. But oh my god the StraightsTM with their “oooooh there’s sexual tension between Wonder Woman and Batman, will this be a future ship in the movies” like? no? there? isn’t? any? For real, I didn’t read any ~sexual tension~ in their interaction. When she got to help him in a secluded room after he got pretty hurt I feared for the worst, I was like “oh no, this is it, this is the time they will flirt and people will call it  ~sexual tension~ “ but actually it wasn’t? I was relieved, they only talked heart to heart. Also the “I should stop reacting and start acting” thing. I understand where they were coming from and what they wanted to do here. I didn’t see it as necessarily sexist but more a reference to that damn “oh Wonder Woman has lost faith in humans and is hidding now for a hundred years”. I know they wanted that moment to be where she assumed her role as the leader of the team, but yeah it felt more like a reminder of a previous bad character choice for her that they still wanted to be A THINGtm in the movie.
Also, can we all agree that Wonder Woman is also super fast? They kind of forgot that after her first scene.
The new characters & the team
The movie tried to give a story/backstory to these characters as much as they could with the short amount of time they had. I applaud their effort, it didn’t work super well, but they tried, and each of the tree had their ‘alone moments’ and some good moments together. It didn’t work so well because you mostly felt thrown into their story without knowing much of anything about these characters. It’s true that the movie does rely on the fact that you should already be familiar with those characters via other media.
Something I liked is that they all didn’t want to be part of the team at first (Flash said yes but hesitated later), for different reasons, and came back on their own for different reasons too. But can we talk about how everyone in this movie seem to show up exactly at the right time, excactly when they’re needed? Sometimes you’re like “How did you know to come here?”.
I also liked the team dynamic as a whole, I liked that there wasn’t any forced tension, they mostly got along well but they still had their disagreement. I’m a bit tired of the trope “people who hate each other must fight a common baddie that will unite them and they will bond through fighting together and then form a team of mistfits!” it’s been done over and over, Marvel is a particular expert at this one. I liked that they didn’t have to fight each other to become a team, it’s refreshing.
Victor (Cyborg)
I really liked him, he was endearing.  I liked the actor. I just liked the way he was in general, he was the rational one who knew a lot about stuff. He was the straight man to Barry’s quirky/excited character. He had some tension going on with Aquaman, and developped a bond with Wonder Woman (I liked their scenes).
During his first scenes, we saw him having to deal with being now a cyborg. They touched subjects that were deep and had a great potential for drama but I thought “That has such potential for a deep story, but I’m sure they’ll ruin it”. They didn’t ruin it, they just never really adressed it again?
Toward the end of the movie I was like “I like him, but I don’t know how they’ll be able to make a solo film with him”. I still want that solo film though.
Also Honest Trailer will probably nickname him “MrExpositionGuy” probably.
He did look CGI A LOT, I mean of course he would, all his body is a robot! but it was jarring at the beginning how much he looked computerised. And the way he learned his powers, I don’t know if it was good or not but he did learn to use them fast.
Barry Allen (Flash)
I really liked him!? Yeah he was the comic relief but maaaan he was cute, and relatable. I often felt he was all of us, a tumblr poster child, super awkward, some social issues and endearing. I do very much like the actor too so it helps. So many of the things he said were tumblr quotes material. I hope people will at least gif him.
I liked how they threw in there a small character development story for him. I liked how he was the average guy who suddenly got supperpowers, he wasn’t suddenly all courageous and had to learn to be. He was a bit the spider-man of the story, the young tech guy who’s also a fanboy and doesn’t know how to Hero yet.
Also, after credit scene with superman: gold.
Arthur Curry (Aquaman)
Most people said it was Cyborg that made the least of an impression on them (if they mention him at all...) but to me, my least favorite one was not Cyborg...it was Aquaman. Which surprised me a lot. I LOVED Aquaman’s new design, and Jason Momoa to play him. But I don’t know, his character never struck anything in me. He was cool, I guess I liked him, but less than the others.
I did like the ‘sit on the lasso of truth’ scene haha. Clever way to have Emotional Exposition moment.
I do want to see a solo film of him though. I think he is one of the characters who should have had a solo film before the Justice League movie, because there is so much lore to his world. They tried to crame as much lore and backstory on him in one scene, it was weird. I mean, good try, but it didn’t work very well. I wasn’t lost during that scene, but it’s definitely one of those “yeah you need to read the comics to know more” moments.
Superman
I liked him. I liked that he went back to mostly be the Superman of the comics and the early movies. People said that it was the best superman portrayal they’ve seen in the DCEU, I agree, but  I also think it got a bit overhyped.
The moment when Barry saw that superman was as fast as him though, priceless.
We did have some good BatSups moments.
Also the CGI lips? Guys it wasn’t that noticeable. I kept looking at his lips and didn’t seen any problems with it.
Steppenwolf: yeah there’s really nothing to say about him, like who cares?
The most important now: the ships. Hey I came back with ships! I feel like a movie did its job if they made me ship characters, so good on you Justice League! During the boss battle at the end the only thing I was thinking about was “ok so I ship him with him and her....and then him with....”
So ships: I’d say Diana x Victor or Victor x Barry (or Diana x Victor x Barry? Ot3 ? maybe?). But then I was like Victor x Barry so Diana......Bruce? ah nah....*Superman arrives, awkward but cute scene with Batman* ah! Batman x Superman! All is as it should be, and all is well in the world.
So Diana x Victor x Barry
Superman x Batman
and Aquaman......? (and that’s where I realized he was my least favorite, I had no ship with him. But I could maybe see Aquaman x Victor, idk? Aquaman x Batman?)
To sum up
The movie was enjoyable, but there was something that felt...off. I couldn’t put my finger on what exactly. I theorized it was because we didn’t know most of the characters yet, or that the story was no that engaging. I’m still wondering what it is, maybe it was the filming choices? Even if there was more colors, it was still a pretty grey movie (and red..).
So you know I’d give it a good 65%-70%  I think.
And the After credit: Hey Deathstroke, will you come in time to watch Deadpool 2? (So we won’t have Darkseid just yet?)
